I hope you can join us next Friday, May 30th, at the Prescott Public Library, from 5 to 8 p.m. for Fest in the West, the commemoration of Prescott Library's 50-year anniversary at the Goodwin Street location. Acquire and bring your library passport to receive tickets that can be used for prize drawings. Activities for all ages include Touch the Truck, featuring a fire engine, police vehicles, an ambulance, and ambulance, construction vehicles. Enjoy a scavenger hunt and yard games for all ages. Former Prescott Public Library employees are invited to join us on stage at 6 p.m., but Garso will emcee the event, and you can expect a great mix of tunes starting from the 70s. Starting point is 00:01:34 throughout the month of May. The friends of Prescott Public Library who are sponsoring the event will also be holding a book sale and selling other fun items. I hope to see you there. The city of Prescott has started a water quality treatment program at Goldwater Lake. Water treatment pellets manufactured by AirMax called Muckaway will be deployed once a month throughout the summer months. The treatment pellets are safe and do not harm any aquatic life or pets. The treatment pellets will not disrupt any lake activity. Goldwater Lake will remain open as usual. Thank you for your understanding.
Starting point is 00:02:09 The Prescott Fire Department wants to remind you to test your smoke alarms monthly to make sure they're working properly. A working smoke alarm can cut the risk of dying in a home fire by nearly 50%. Just push the test button on the alarm to ensure it's operational. Test every alarm in your home and only take. takes a minute. Also, don't forget to replace batteries at least once a year, unless you have a 10-year sealed battery. As you work on your spring cleaning projects, you might be interested in the City of Prescott's Solid Waste Division, new appointment-based bulk program. Each residential trash customer qualifies for one complementary collection per calendar year. The required pre-registration

Two, get confirmation and instructions from our team. And three, set out your item by 6 a.m. on your scheduled date. Commercial businesses and communities on dumpster service are not eligible for this program. For more information, please go to Prescott Recycles.com. The city of Prescott is bringing back its ambassador program for City Hall, and we're looking for friendly, service-minded volunteers to help visitors navigate our new facilities. Ambassadors assist guests by directing them to the appropriate departments, answering basic questions about city services, and helping to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Three-hour shifts will be scheduled weekly or bi-weekly Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A background check and brief interview will be required. The city received five applications to fill the vacancy of Councilmember Kathy Rusing through November of 27. Applications were reviewed during last Tuesday's executive session meeting. Council has narrowed down the list and selected candidates to be interviewed during a special meeting tomorrow Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. We hope to select the nominee and swear them in at the conclusion of tomorrow's meeting so they can begin serving on counsel by Tuesday, May 27, 2025. In observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 26th, City offices and Prescott Public
Starting point is 00:04:24 Library will be closed. Solid waste. trash collection will not be operating, and the transfer station will also be closed. City of Prescott offices will be closed on Monday, May 26th, and will reopen on Tuesday, May 27th at 8 a.m. For online utility building and other city information, please go to our website. The Prescott Public Library will be closed on Monday, May 26th, and reopen on Tuesday, May 27th at 9 a.m. The Solid Waste Division will not be collecting residential trash and recyclables on Monday, As a result, trash collection will be postponed by one day this week. Residents are requested to place their containers at Kerr by 6 a.m. on the following business day.

However, commercial collections will proceed as per the regular schedule on Friday and Saturday. The City of Prescott Transfer Station is closed on Monday, May 26. The transfer station will reopen on May 26. from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please ensure all loads are properly covered and secured during transport to the transfer station. I'm Mayor Phil Good.
