Hello, I'm Mayor Phil Good.
Thank you for joining me for my final weekly update as the mayor of Prescott.
As we enter this new week, I want to share a few important updates from your city government
and also take a moment to reflect on the incredible honor it has been to serve our city.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 18th, the Prescott City Council will meet for our study session and voting meeting.
The study session begins at 1 p.m. in City Council Chambers.
Topics for discussion include an update on the draft long-term water management plan,
a critical step in how Prescott manages and protects our water resources for decades to come.
At 3 p.m., the voting meeting will convene.
In addition to the regular agenda items, the meeting will conclude by celebrating the official
swearing in of our newly elected City Council members.
I want to take a moment to thank our outgoing members for their dedication and service.
Mayor Pro Tem Connie Cantalmy, Councilman Eric Moore, and Councilman Brandon Montoya.
Your commitment to Prescott has made a real difference in our community.
And congratulations to our incoming council members.
Mayor Kathy Rusing, Councilwoman Mary Fredrickson, Councilman Jim Garing, and Councilman Jay Ruby.
I wish you all success as you step into your new roles on council.
I hope you'll serve our city with integrity and purpose.
On Thursday, November 20th, the Board of Adjustments will meet at 9 a.m. in the Council Chambers.
On the agenda is a review of the Conditional Use Permit, CUP 25-002, which proposes adding classrooms
for grades K through 8 at the 7th Day Adventist School, located at 2980 Willow Creek Road.
The board will review this request for compliance with zoning requirements.
and compatibility with the surrounding neighborhood.
Looking ahead, our local youth are leading an incredible effort this holiday season.
On Saturday, November 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 12, the Teen Task Force Food Drive will take place
at the Gray Sparks Activity Center. They are collecting non-perishable food items, including
canned goods, peanut butter, rice, pasta, and more to support families in need throughout our
community. I encourage everyone to participate. Let's come together to support our youth and help
local families this season. It's a wonderful example of how our teams can make a meaningful
contribution in the Prescott community. As this is my final weekly update, I'd like to take a few
moments to reflect. Serving as your mayor has been an incredible honor. Together, we face challenges,
celebrated achievements, and made progress in public safety, water management, infrastructure,
fiscal responsibility, and much more.
Prescott is a unique and very special community.
Our history, natural beauty, and most importantly, our people make this city exceptional.
I'm grateful for the city staff whose professionalism and dedication keeps our city running smoothly
every day.
I'm grateful for the city council member.
past and present, who have brought wisdom, discussion, and diverse perspectives to our decisions.
And I'm grateful to you, the residents of Prescott.
Your engagement, feedback, and commitment to our city have guided every step of the work we've accomplished.
That's all for this week's update.
Thank you for watching, for staying engaged, and for allowing me the honor of serving as your mayor.
I'm Phil Good.
Have a wonderful week.
Thank you, and may God continue to protect and bless Prescott.
