Drivers traveling on Willow Creek Road on Wednesday may have noticed a stronger than usual police presence.
The Prescott and Prescott Valley Police Departments, along with the Yopapai County Sheriff's Office,
joined forces as part of the Tri-City Task Force to focus enforcement efforts on this busy corridor.
Throughout the operation, officers conducted 105 traffic stops.
These stops resulted in 69 speeding citations,
and three excessive speed citations. The highest speed recorded was 70 miles per hour and a 45
mile per hour zone, highlighting the continued need for education and enforcement in this area.
The Tri-City Task Force remains committed to keeping our roadways safe through high visibility,
zero-tolerance enforcement. Drivers can expect to see increased patrols and proactive traffic
enforcement in and around the Tri-City area throughout the year as part of ongoing efforts to
reduce hazardous driving behaviors and prevent serious injury collisions. This
detail was made possible through the continued partnership and grant support of the Arizona
Governor's Office of Highway Safety, whose assistance plays a key role in helping local
agencies address speeding and improve roadway safety throughout the region. We encourage all
drivers to slow down, stay alert, and help keep our community safe. Catch up with more local
