The Arizona monsoon has been a little lackluster so far this year, so what has happened to
our Oz monsoon? The U.S. National Weather Service, Flagstaff, Arizona, shared a little
info as to what has happened in some stats so far this year. What's up? A strong and persistent
trough over the West Coast, which has kept most of Arizona under dry southwesternly winds,
pushing monsoon moisture, and storms, well to our east. With a lack of rain and drying fuel,
fire season has returned across northern and western Arizona, and conditions on the ground now resemble late June.
Some limited moisture may return next week. But don't worry, the U.S. National Weather Service,
Flagstaff, Arizona, will be closely watching for any hint of a pattern change that could turn us toward a wetter pattern.
