Having recently moved to Prescott, Jody Martinelli was looking for a way to contribute to our
local communities in the world's oldest rodeo. A women's luncheon she attended provided just the
answer, a charity to support professional rodeo athletes and their families when catastrophic injuries
occur. This wonderful event became whiskey, women, and wine, a fun way for local women to enjoy
wine tasting, a live-slash silent auction, appetizers, and a meet-and-grreet with several
a pro-rodeo star athletes to support the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund, JCCF. With Jody's Magic Touch,
her small, devoted team of volunteers has continued to raise multiple thousands of dollars
to give injured cowboys and cowgirls a hand-up. Jody's superstar team included Susie Davidson,
who donated handmade quilts, and Diane Carty, who created 25 gift baskets for auction,
with Karen Davis, Kim Lopez,
Lori Fisher, Julie Euton,
and Karen fan providing added support.
This year, the event raised $35,000 for the JCCF
thanks to the generous support of the attendees
and local businesses.
Attendees were treated to gourmet charcutory boards and wine,
plus James Horkasitas, PFD co-announcer
who served as the MC, Ty Acheson and Dalton Ward,
Vold Pickup Men, and Jim Dewey Brown,
PFD General Manager.
In 2025, the team added a fashion show
with outfits that were donated in auction from local businesses Fancy That, Dillards,
whiskey and Willow Salon and boutique, fight girls boutique, the French hen boutique, and PFD Mercantile.
Other sponsors include Yeti, Jack Daniels, and Sarah Murray of Fancy That, who donated a table of raffle
items in an outfit for auction. Learn who else is making a difference in the Quad Cities
