The brief ceremony will begin at 7:15 P.M. in front of the Canyon Club with John Carpino of William’s own KZBX FM (92.2) radio as the Master of Ceremony. There will be a few acknowledgements, then a countdown to turn on all three of the newly restored signs. The ceremony is to celebrate the restoration of three of Williams, Arizona's most iconic and historic Route 66 neon signs the Canyon Club, Saltana, and Turquoise Tee. The brief ceremony will begin at 7.15 p.m. in front of the Canyon Club with John Carpino of Williams' own KZB.S.B. XFM 92.2, Radio as the Master of Ceremony. There will be a few acknowledgments, then a countdown to turn on all three of the newly restored signs. The Neon Sign Restoration Project is a partnership between the Williams Alliance for the Arts, Wafta, Jason Olson manager of the Canyon Club and Sultana, and Lee Bowden owner of the Turquoise Tee. Wafta worked with Olson and Bowden to secure
Starting point is 00:00:54 funds through the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona and a preserve Route 66 grant from the National Trust of Historic Preservation. A contract was awarded to Northern Arizona Sign, NOAZ, a flagstaff in 2025 who conducted an initial assessment which was used to seek additional funds to support the restoration effort completed in April 26. As Jason Olson noted, people are excited to see these newly restored signs back up and ready for the future.
