The Yavapai baseball team came out to Rough Rider Park today with fierce intensity as the team swept the visiting spirit of Ottawa University of Arizona in today's double header, including a 27 to zero shutout victory in game two. The first game of the day was a bit of a struggle for the rough riders, but Carter Brown swooped in to save the day. Brown would hit his second home run of the game, but in dramatic fashion, hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game for the home team, winning 13 to 10. The sophomore pitched four innings, allowed zero runs, walked none, and struck out seven. Game one. As stated above, Yavapai was down for the majority of this game, until a late offensive push from the Rough Riders led to a six-run final inning and a walk-off grand slam from Carter Brown. Brown had not one but two dingers in this game, bringing his total on the season to seven. Garrison also hit a home run in this game. Other offensive efforts came from Parker Halverson, who hit a clutch triple in the final frame to bring two runners home, as well as doubles from Matthew Peterson and Dalton Irwin. Brown had five RBI, Halverson had four, and Jones had three.
