Calgary, also known as the blue sky city. We get more sunny days than anywhere in
the country, but more importantly we're the Canadian capital of blue sky
thinking. This is where bold ideas meet big opportunity, where dreams become
reality. Whether you're building your career or scaling your business, Calgary
is where what-if turns into what's next. It's possible here in Calgary, the blue
sky city. Learn more at

Hello, hello, Patreons. Why do you think we do this voice
whenever we're speaking to Patreons?
Because it's the Patreon voice.
It is the Patreon, because I do it as well.
We go, hello, babies.
Hello, little babies.
It feels so like we're in a little comfort,
like we're in a little soft play kind of centre or something.
Yeah, we feel so safe.
We feel safe and I think we feel so fondly towards that.
It's like, hello, oh, come here little baby.
We've got a cracking picture on episode coming up.
Yes, some of the best, not best before date and best before.
It's not gone off.
It's not gone off, it's gone on.
It's gone on.
It's fully on.
It's bits that have never been heard before.
Wow.
But not that they didn't deserve to be heard.
Yeah, just couldn't fit them in.
We couldn't cram it in.
Or maybe they needed to be behind a paywall if you get one, if you get my drift.
Hee-yoo!
And this ep will be some extra stuff from Sophie Hagan.
Uh oh, it looks like I've met a turtle again.
And I think there's an interesting bit in the book where you speak to somebody, professor
or something, and they say when you go outside, everything is a connection.
Like every moment is a possibility that could lead to sex.
Which is not how I live my day.
Micromanage of positivity resonance.
Being aware and having your eyes open and realizing that as you work, every person you meet,
you sit opposite them on the bus or you order a coffee from someone.
There is a moment of connection even if it's just, hi, have a good day.
Thank you.
Yeah.
And at the end of the interview, a flirtologist called Jean Smith.
And she talks about the same thing of like, oh, it's those little moments
where you have to grab them and like, you can be flirty and you can like see where
it goes. And that's for me, hearing that, hearing him talk about that, I was like,
oh, why is everything in me thinking,
uh-oh, no, no, no, no, but I don't want that.
Like that feels too scary that I can just go into the world
and then there are people.
No, no, no, I want it on an app.
So it's a safe distance and I can like judge from afar
and then say no to everyone and then go to bed.
But I think for a lot of people that want to get off apps, I think that's very inspiring.
I think that's something that we've been hearing is that, yeah, to turn yourself onto kind
of the world and just like speaking to people and knowing it's out there because as you
were saying earlier, I think our default is get through the day, get back to TV bed.
Yeah.
But there's things happening and you have to, it's like that, I guess, being present.
It's being, it's being mindful. It's like that, I guess, being present. It's being mindful.
It's like all these things where you're in that moment with that person rather than just
trying to get through it.
Do you flirt?
I think I flirt.
I don't think people think I flirt.
I'm like, oh, hey, you're a piece of shit.
Like, oh, you're really ugly as well.
Where are you going?
We were having a moment. What's happening?
Stop running away, dickass!
Like, I think I get too intense.
Like, the aforementioned person that you set me up with.
Time to check on the skies.
It's another sunny day in Calgary.

Hello, me again, Amy Gladhill, but this time I'm with...
Not Harriet Kemsley.
Whoa!
WT, fuck!
What's going on?
I'm with bloody Ian Smith.
Offer to Northern News podcast.
Yes, a podcast that's not about the news.
Don't worry, single ladies.
No, it's not about the news.
It's not about being single.
It's about the North, and all
of our stories are about couples.
That is not the truth Ian.
No, not technically true.
It's weird stuff, it's funny stuff that's going on up North that we're reporting back
on.
Things like, pure evil blackbird named Derek terrorising Yorkshire village and attacking
children.
Woman in tears after spotting spitting image of dead dog in Bathmat.
And we've got special guests. We're talking about people like Phil Wang, Jessica Nappet,
Ed Campbell and Ross Noble who joined us in the studio.
Woohoo!
Yeah!
So that's Northern News starting next Thursday, the 1st of May and then every Thursday after
that. Join us!
