Starting point is 00:02:53 that requires zero effort from your body, making any adjustments whatsoever, no matter how, light they may seem, anything it takes to get your body even just one percent more comfortable. Go ahead and do that because you deserve to be that comfortable. And you never know that one percent might make all the difference in how you sleep tonight. And once you've found your way into that most comfortable position, keep your eyes open for just a moment.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Resting the gaze gently on the ceiling or the wall, whatever is across the way from you. And I know this may seem counterintuitive, but it's very effective to help you relax and fall asleep. And as you rest your gaze there, nice and easy, not forcing or squinting at all. You can allow your eyelids to slowly begin to close as I count down from five to one, starting at five and just barely beginning to notice that growing weight of your eyelids as we come to four and that desire to let them close begins to spread and expand. beginning to feel that weight just a bit more as we come to three and your eyelids may begin to flutter now, ever so gently. Resisting that weight for just another moment as we come to two and you're barely able to hold on now,
Starting point is 00:05:45 maybe even seeing only the tiniest bit of light through the smallest slit in your eyes. as we finally reach one, owing your eyes to close all the way down now and feeling the muscles in and around your eyes. Relax and soften completely as that sensation spreads all through your forehead, your cheeks, your jaw, and all across the muscles of your face,
Starting point is 00:06:47 Feeling them let go completely, softening all the way down now, taking a nice deep breath in. Slowly and fully and exhaling back out, even slower, sighing out any stress or worries. Again, breathing in, even slower, even deeper this time, and exhaling. Again, even slower. Once more now. Take an extra sip of air in and then exhale. Just let that air fall back out. Not forcing anything.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Just letting go. And you can allow your breath to return to its own natural rhythm and depth now. Beginning to imagine now that your mind is like an antenna. for the outside world, and there's all sorts of signals it might pick up. But for now, it's time to turn off that antenna. And each passing breath turns down the volume knob on this antenna, just one notch such that each passing breath softens the thought. the to-does, the conversations, and the worries.
Starting point is 00:09:59 But surely, receding farther and farther, into the distance, going to be to serve as a reminder that there's nothing for you to do right now. But relax, really let go, each breath, turning down that. volume knob. Just one more notch. And in this way, you inevitably will find yourself in perfect stillness and perfect peace and quiet. And as you continue to relax deeper and deeper down, I invite you to let go of any stories or worries. or expectations that you have about your relationship with sleep, whether it's in the past or in the future or here tonight.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Because the simple truth is that your body knows how to sleep. Indeed, it's built into the most basic programming of who you are. So grant yourself permission just to relax to be still and instead of worrying about when or how you'll fall asleep. Simply enjoy this time for peace and quiet where you have absolutely nothing to do or worry about. and to help you relax deeper and deeper down into the most blissful, relaxing and rejuvenating sleep that you so deserve here tonight. I invite you to use your imagination, finding yourself standing in front of a beautiful private elevator. and this imaginary elevator can be styled and designed in any way that's most pleasing to you.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Whatever captivates you, invites you, and fills you with a sense of absolute safety because this is no random elevator. This is the elevator, which you can ride each and every night all the way down into your deepest, most restful state of sleep. And you'll soon find that no matter what state you enter this elevator in, it always holds the potential to take you deeper. and deeper down. And so if you're longing for the deepest, most restful sleep tonight, you can step through the open doors of this elevator and find the button that takes you to the level labeled deepest sleep. And once you found it, you press that button, watching the doors slide shut with a whisper and the elevator begins to take it slow and smooth journey down and it's in no rush whatsoever but every inch you descend is an inch away from the outside world
Starting point is 00:16:33 from the worries and the problems and all of the noise and you notice that there's a series of numbers just above the doors, counting down from 10 to 1. And as the elevator slowly leads you deeper down, these numbers begin to do the same, starting with 10 as you give yourself permission to let go of the day. lingering thoughts as the light of the outside world dims completely supported, safe, and at ease as you continue down to nine and you feel your muscles begin to soften more and more the further you sink down to eight your body feeling twice as heavy now. The elevator is doing all of the work for you. You're just a passenger here with nothing to do and nothing to worry about.
Starting point is 00:19:00 You're simply drifting deeper down to seven beginning to notice the slowing pace of your breath and your heart. as you let go of the need to fall asleep at any particular point in time or in any particular way, passing by six and finding comfort in the knowledge that you are so far down below the noise. The world above is but a distant memory. It has no power and no sway and no effect over you here. Ross, level five, you allow your body to sink even deeper and deeper. Your thoughts starting to feel more like shadows or clouds with no edges. No emotions, just drifting by and dissolving in time as you pass four, having drifted so much deeper down now that you're beginning to lose touch with the physical senses.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Reconnecting with that profound sense of coming home all the way down here. Ascing three as everything moves slower now. And your mind and your body and your spirit begin to sense the coming rest that they've been so craving and so deserving. Suspend in perfect stillness and peace and balance as you pass too. two, beginning to find the edge between the conscious and subconscious worlds, the border of pure and deep, restorative silence, allowing yourself to let go and sink down all the way down completely, passing one, where the final traces of the world, of the physical existence,
Starting point is 00:24:07 and anything that reminds you of them are fading farther and farther, slipping deeper and deeper into the space where there's only breath, there's only existence, is zero, and the doors. Slowly slide open, with no hurry or a count of time whatsoever, revealing to you the deepest level of your subconscious being
Starting point is 00:25:28 where total reset, complete rejuvenation, and the deepest sleep exist. And as you step out of the elevator and into the subconscious landscape of sleep, moving exactly, in your own way and on your own time your subconscious mind
Starting point is 00:26:27 is open and ready to receive a new code for your life and these words and the space between them to wash over you gently encouraging you to
Starting point is 00:27:02 sink ever deeper and deeper, such that from this moment on, your body always knows and remembers how to heal itself through sleep such that you are no longer a person who struggles to rest. You are now a person who surrenders to rest. And it's not because you've changed or you've done anything different. It's simply a reset of your frame of mind, knowing now that when you lie down, your nervous system automatically knows you're safe and you're you're ready for rest, turning itself all the way off, knowing that rest and sleep are your greatest allies.
Starting point is 00:29:09 They're both the beginning, middle, and end of all existence, where safety and peace always lie where you're free to relax, ever deeper and deeper, that if you wake in the night, you won't panic or become frustrated. In fact, you won't think at all. You'll simply notice that it's still time for rest and feel that sense of enjoyment deep within your being for the profound peace that exists here in the subconscious state, allowing yourself to turn the volume dial all the way back down to zero. Hide the elevator to the bottom floor, the level of deepest sleep. And in this way, you'll slowly and effortlessly slide back.
Starting point is 00:32:09 into the most restful sleep and through this process, training your mind and your body, how to rest even better every night. Your sleep becoming deeper. Every morning, your mind and body, feeling more rejuvenated, more restored by this deep. deepest, total reset of peaceful sleep. So now, allow yourself to surrender anything that's left, letting go into the bliss of nothingness where you're free to release the day and everything in the outside world, where you're always safe, guided, and protected, where you're, where every cell in your body can experience the most profound and thorough healing, sinking deeper
Starting point is 00:35:08 and deeper your breath moving, ever slower, ever softer, and completely unbothered by the concept of time as you enjoy more deeply the freedom and peace. peace in the silence and you fall in your own way and on your own time into the deepest sleep you've had in years such that from this moment on your body always knows and remembers how to heal itself through sleep such that you are no longer a person who struggles to rest are now a person who surrenders to rest. And it's not because you've changed or you've done anything different. It's simply a reset of your frame of mind. When you lie down, your nervous system automatically knows.
Starting point is 00:38:08 You're safe and you're ready for rest, turning itself all the way off, knowing that rest and sleep are your greatest allies.
