Now here's a quick word from our sponsors before tonight's episode begins.
Hey there, my friend, welcome to sleep escape.
This guided meditation is designed to gently ease you back into sleep.
After waking in the middle of the night, there's not a night.
nothing you need to do or worry about.
Just rest your attention on the sound of my voice and the soothing music in the background
to ensure that your body is positioned in the most comfortable way possible.
Ask yourself, what can I do to make myself even just one percent more comfortable?
use this as an opportunity to stretch, adjust, or move in any way that feels natural to your body
and desirable. And when you're ready, settle back into stillness. Let your body soften all the
way down. Release all of the tension in your face, your jaw, your neck, and shoulders, your back,
chest and hips as well as your arms and legs and gradually let your entire body melt deeper and deeper
into the surface beneath you letting go of everything you don't currently need waking up unexpectedly during the
night can be unsettling, especially if the mind begins to race and run with thoughts about the day
ahead, the day just passed, or anything else that might be on your mind. And this can make
relaxation seem elusive. I invite you to let go of these concerns now.
Release any worries or frustrations about being awake and just embrace this moment as it is.
Trust that your mind and body know how to sleep.
They know how to heal and take care of themselves.
They will ensure that you get exactly as much sleep as you need comfort.
in knowing that by simply listening to this meditation,
you're already on your way,
back to a night of restful sleep,
moment by moment,
moving down that to relaxation.
Let your thoughts drift away,
like leaves floating down a stream,
sending off each individual thought
that's nagging at your mind for attention to the rhythm of your own breath.
Notice that natural rise and fall being nice, slow, deep breaths,
intentionally filling the lungs all the way and expanding down into the diaphragm and the belly.
intentionally slow and deep breath signals to your body to activate its natural state of calm.
So imagine that deep breathing pattern is activating your innate ability to relax completely,
supporting you and transitioning back to a restful state.
Notice how with every exhale, you rest heavier.
And more deeply, your body's internal system knows exactly what to do.
So release any need to control, any frustration, any worry, and simply observe how your body begins to
settle into stillness.
Every moment, sinking more deeply into the surface beneath you.
And if you find that your mind wanders off at some point, that's perfectly fine and normal.
When you notice that this has happened, gently redirect your attention back to that slow.
and steady breath, focusing on relaxing even deeper with each exhale.
And although there may be things that are still grabbing for your attention,
worries about the past, or anticipations about the future.
But in this moment, there's nothing that demands your attention or your attention or your
your action. You don't need to solve problems or figure anything out right now. Instead,
shift any mental energy toward care and compassion for yourself. You deserve this time to
rest, whether it's conscious rest, subconscious rest, or another deep state of sleep.
It doesn't really matter because as you lie here, relaxing even more with each breath, your body is healing itself, rejuvenating your mind and your muscles to let go of any thoughts that aren't relevant to the present moment and allow yourself to relax more naturally in your thoughts.
into this time for calm and quiet.
Visualize your breath as gentle waves of the universe,
washing along the serene shoreline that marks the border between consciousness and subconsciousness.
These waves, effortless and natural, neither push,
nor resist
they simply flow
and in the same way
your breath
and body
know how to guide you
back to sleep
trust in this
innate wisdom
within you
allowing it to
carry you
deeper
and deeper
into relaxation. As you let go more and more bit by bit, your body will intuitively guide you
toward that peaceful state it knows so well. As you continue to relax deeper and deeper
with each passing breath.
I'll share a series of affirmations
designed to remind and encourage you
into a relaxing state of sleep.
And if more distracting thoughts arise,
just acknowledge them with kindness
and let them go,
bringing your attention.
back to your breath and the sound of my voice.
And soon enough, in your own way and on your own time,
complete stillness, will envelop you,
leading you into a deep and restorative sleep.
Release the day and welcome a restful sleep.
I am safe, supported, and ready to relax.
My body knows how to rest and recover.
It comes naturally to me.
My mind is calm and my body is at ease.
I deserve a peaceful and restorative sleep.
Each breath I take guides me closer to deep.
