Whatever feels best for you and your body, and I encourage you to keep your eyes open for just a moment as you take the time to find that perfect position where you feel. You feel you. You feel entirely supported, making any adjustments that allow you to be even just the tiniest bit more relaxed and at ease. And then, once you've settled in, resting your gaze, somewhere out on the wall with a ceiling in front of you, not forcing, just resting the eyes there and slowly allowing them to close, bit by bit as I count down from five, just feeling that weight, growing ever so slightly heavier. Four, your eyelids. Just beginning to close as you feel a growing sense of relaxation. Three, and maybe your eyes are beginning to flutter now under the weight of your eyelids,
Starting point is 00:04:41 as we come to two and you can barely resist that desire to let your eyes close but holding on for just one more moment as you inhale and exhale finally reaching one allowing your eyes to close all the way down and as they do all of the muscles of your face soften as well surround rendering completely, and then the muscles of your neck and your shoulders, your arms and hands, as there's nothing left for you to carry, no position you need to hold, and you may feel that relaxation spreading further into your chest and down your back, softening each articulation in your spine as it spreads through your abdomen and into your hips, softly aligning every muscle,
Starting point is 00:06:59 every joint as it continues, even further down, through your thighs, across your knees, into your shins and all the way to the tips of your toes, just feeling your body. beginning to enter that full state of relaxation taking a nice deep breath in filling all the way up holding for just a moment at the top before you exhale just letting the air fall back out even slower than you took your breath in take one more breath just like that inhale nice and slow Nice and deep, hold at the top and as you exhale, just let the air fall back out and allow your body to soften even deeper down into the bed.
Starting point is 00:09:06 That's right. Give yourself permission to let go completely now because there's nothing left for you to achieve today. no problems that require your attention. In fact, the only thing there is left for you to do is to simply enjoy this peaceful journey into the land of dreams. And you'll get there in your own way and on your own time because we all fall asleep a little bit differently from each other. And so I don't know whether you'll fall asleep faster due to the sound of my voice. The words that I say, or maybe even the spaces between my words, but I do know that you'll find sleep in exactly the right way and at exactly the right time for you and your body because you're.
Starting point is 00:10:55 your being knows how to sleep. Indeed, it's designed to. So just rest your attention on the sound of my voice. And with each passing breath, allow yourself to soften and sink deeper into your own bed and deeper within your own mind. And as you sink deeper in this way, with each passing breath, you may begin to notice how there's a curious sensation to this idea of sinking deeper and deeper. And it's that for every metaphorical inch that you sink deeper into relaxation, You rise and float one inch more into bliss, and you may even begin to imagine in your mind's eye this curious sensory contradiction, each breath, allowing you to sink more and more,
Starting point is 00:13:10 deeper and deeper, while at the same time, bring sensation of effortlessness, of floating higher and higher. And you may even like to envision that as you sink deeper within, your body actually floats into the air, envisioning yourself, rising up and just above your bed maybe even observing yourself from an outside perspective as you rest there perfectly still and relaxed in your own bed watching as you relax deeper with each passing breath and as you observe yourself, relaxing deeper in this way. You feel yourself ascending higher and higher such that you float up. Above your own home, entering the darkness of the night sky, each breath, guiding your physical body deeper and deeper into relaxation and your imaginary mind.
Starting point is 00:15:52 higher and higher into the night, beginning to see your entire and the whole area in which you live from above and as you sink deeper and float higher, you may notice that your thoughts, worries and concerns, Drift farther and farther away is just peace and quiet here. And that's such a nice feeling, isn't it? Your day-to-day worries are like distant lights on the ground below. You can barely even make out what they are, what they might be about, or how they're even remotely relevant to this moment.
Starting point is 00:17:42 And over time, this process of relaxing deeper, floating higher, and your thoughts drifting farther begins to build on itself, such that with each repetition of the cycle, you relax more. You float higher and your thoughts fade more and more as time goes on. And eventually you can see your entire country from above beginning to float amongst the clouds, the moon and the stars, off in the distance of the clouds, off in the distance of the clouds, of space, each breath sinking deeper and deeper within and feeling yourself. Drift higher and higher, everything, becoming softer and softer as the only thing you can touch now is the fluffiest of
Starting point is 00:20:16 clouds. And the next time you look, you realize, You can see the home world below and from up here, the problems, the news, and the daily happenings of the world seem so small, temporary, passing. But you in this space, while you're timeless, it's as though the problems and the worries. are just waves, but you are the ocean, and you're now drifting through a sea of timeless stars. The air is perfect, the temperature is that of a dream, and you begin to realize that you can float wherever you'd like in this night sky, whether that's through silent forests or over, perfectly still and glassy, mountain lakes, it doesn't matter, because with each breath, you sink just that bit deeper and you become just that bit more weightless and free and it's here in the limitless
Starting point is 00:23:42 and quiet of your own mind that you may begin to appreciate that you are an infinite being that every star you pass is a reminder of how vast you really are. You are not your job. You are not your mistakes. You are not your past or your future. You are an unlimited floating awareness, drifting through the beauty. of the endless cosmos, and you're always welcome here. Indeed, you always are here in a certain sense.
Starting point is 00:25:32 And so may your mind wander freely through this peaceful night's adventure. As each breath continues to guide you deeper and deeper within, sending you floating ever higher as you're drifting into a sea of peace farther and farther from all physical sensations safe in the arms of the night resting in the perfect silence and stillness every muscle completely relaxed and at ease your breath like the rhythm of the universe always sinking deeper and floating higher finding calm and comfort in the darkness worrying about anything in your waking life or when you might fall asleep or whether you might wake up at some point in the night because those thoughts are just temporary but you are timeless and your being knows how to get
Starting point is 00:29:05 the rest it needs. Sleep is a natural state of your being. You have permission to let go of everything and allow yourself to enter sleep because you deserve that most deep and restful sleep in which every cell in your body, recovers and rejuvenates entirely allowing you to awake in the morning, feeling fully refreshed, energized and excited about your life, knowing that you are always protected as you dream. The worries of the day are completely gone. The tension of your body evaporated completely.
