Hello, my friend, Stephen Dalton here.
Have you ever thought about what it would be like to go to sleep, laughing, or at least smiling?
Well, I'm here to tell you about my new channel.
It's called Humorously Dull History for Sleep.
In each episode, I bring you through the history of a particular topic, like the history of houses or the spoon or dogs.
And I tell you the history in, I hope, a humorous way.

Hey there, my friend, and welcome to sleep escape, where tonight we'll embark on a journey
of release, surrender, and letting go.
Not through force or effort,
but through the soft and gentle,
natural beauty of a flower shedding its petals.
And this session will continue throughout the night
so that when you awake,
you'll feel lighter, more clear of mind,
and free for,
from the weights and burdens that are holding you down,
but you don't need to listen all the way through.
In fact, I encourage you to let go and drift off.
Whenever you feel that gentle tug of sleep,
this session will still help you, even if you're fast asleep,
because the subconscious mind is always listening.
And that is where the letting go occurs in order to feel this new sense of freedom and lightness about yourself.
So settle into a comfortable position, whatever feels best for you and your body, taking the time to make any adjustments to get yourself even just 1% more comfortable because you deserve to be that comfortable.
And once you've found that position, just allow your eyes to softly close as I count down from five to four.
Feeling that weight of your eyelids, growing heavier as we come to three and your eyes may begin to flutter as we reach two,
barely able to resist the desire to let your eyes close but holding on for just one more second as we finally reach
one allowing your eyes to close all the way down as a sense of softness spreads across your face
relaxing the muscles of your forehead, your cheeks, and your jaw as it continues to spread like a wave of relaxation.
Down your whole body, easing all tension, relaxing every muscle and joint.
Feeling your body soften and surrender completely.
deeper and deeper down into the bed and just taking a moment to appreciate this time for peace and quiet
where there's nothing to do no way you're supposed to act or be there's nothing you need to hold on to
anymore you are exactly where you're meant to be enjoying the comfort and relaxation
that you so deeply deserve.
So now, take a long, slow breath in.
And as you exhale, imagine your body letting go and melting just a bit more, deeper down, into the bed.
Letting those muscles of your face.
Once again, relax completely, feeling your jaw unlatch and your tongue rest down in your mouth,
continuing to breathe at your own natural pace, but just allowing that breath to move
ever so deeply and ever so slowly, ever so effortlessly.
each inhale, collecting any lingering tension in your body, and each exhale, expeling that tension,
allowing you to soften and relax down just that bit more.
And in this way, that repeating cycle of your breath will slowly and inevitably guide you.
deeper into relaxation, closer to sleep. And I don't know exactly how or when you'll fall asleep
tonight, but I do know that we all fall asleep in our own way and on our own time. And additionally,
that we are designed to rest. Sleep is a natural part of being human.
And as such, your body knows how to rest, and it will fall asleep in exactly the right way and at exactly the right time for you here tonight.
So with each passing breath, just allow yourself to relax that bit deeper, letting go of any tension moment by moment.
whether it's physical tension, emotional tension, or cognitive tension.
And as you let go more and more in this way, just notice if there's any lingering bits of tension,
thoughts, worries, you tell yourself. And if you find any such tensions, don't try to fight it.
Just acknowledge that it's there.
There's no need to rid yourself of this tension.
Indeed, it's there for a purpose.
And all we're going to do here tonight
is transform the energy in that tension
away from a negative and limiting sense of energy
into one that's productive,
positive, and freeing.
And so, no matter what those tensions may be for you here tonight,
if you'd like to let go of them, to transform them into something more positive,
you can begin to envision the image of yourself, standing in.
in a magnificent moonlit garden.
The air is soft on your skin.
It's cool and it smells of damp earth and blooming flowers.
Underneath your feet is a soft layer of moss.
It feels like velvet and just off in the distance.
You see a small crystal clear stream.
And so you walk towards it, noticing the bubbling and bobbing sounds of the water as it flows over smooth silver stones.
And you discover on the bank of the stream a single beautiful flower.
It's the most perfect flower you've ever seen.
Its petals are large, vibrant.
and soft to the touch.
And in a certain way,
you begin to see yourself and the flower,
such that it represents your day
or your life up to this moment.
You've grown and bloomed,
with each petal holding a memory,
a story, a relationship.
And as you reach out,
and gently touch the first pedal.
An image comes to your mind,
and it's the image of something that you know
you no longer need to carry right now.
Perhaps it's a conversation that didn't go well,
a worry about tomorrow,
a habit, a phase, or a relationship
that you're struggling to move on from.
But whatever it is for you,
See the story contained in that flower petal and recognize how that story has served you in certain ways.
Yet simultaneously, it's holding you back now.
From the rest, the freedom or the journey of life that you're headed to.
So whisper to that story.
in that flower pedal, thank you for everything you've taught me.
But now it's time to say goodbye.
And so you pluck that pedal from the flower, and you place it onto the surface of the stream below,
letting go of it, releasing that story, surrendering it to the flow of the water.
and it drifts off into the distance, effortlessly, continuously drifting farther and farther,
until it disappears.
And as you watch that pedal and its associated story, disappear into the distance, you feel a corresponding
weight lifted from your body.
that allows both your mental, spiritual, and physical being to relax even deeper and deeper down.
And that feeling of greater peace and relaxation, it feels so good and relieving that you decide to pick another pedal.
This one, holding a regret, something you wish.
wish you'd done differently.
Once again, seeing the story of that regret contained in this pedal, noticing the ways in
which it's shaped your life for the better.
And yet, how it still manages to hold you back and limit you, knowing how good it will feel
to finally let go of this regret.
You say to it,
thank you for everything you taught me,
but I'm ready to let go of you now.
So goodbye,
and then you drop it into the stream,
watching it wash away,
drifting farther and farther,
until it disappears,
feeling that corresponding weight.
Release.
from your mind and body, allowing you to soften even deeper down into ease, comfort, and relaxation.
Continuing this same process now, one pedal at a time. First, picking a pedal for a person you've been trying to please.
and then just letting it go, releasing it into the stream, and surrendering deeper into this moment
and the joy and comfort.
And knowing that you are worthy exactly as you are, that there's nothing you need to do.
And no one that you have to please.
plucking a pedal for something your family or society or anyone else tells you you should have or could have
or need to do seeing that story contained in the flower pedal as you let it go and float down the stream
farther and farther into the distance, allowing you to surrender.
Release and let go.
And with every pedal you pluck and release in this way,
a flower becomes lighter, more free.
And so do you as you're shedding the layers of the day,
stripping away the noise, the expectations,
of the outside world, resting deeper and deeper to the quiet stillness of this very moment.
And as you let go more and more and relax, ever deeper in this way, know that this stream is endless,
and however much you're ready to let go of, this stream can take as much as much.
as you have to give it, creating your own trail of colorful petals, drifting off under the moonlight,
beginning to see your burdens as beautiful ornaments floating on the water, leaving you with the space,
the freedom and the positive uplifted energy to reshape your life,
the path you're on and the stories you tell yourself, relaxing deeper and deeper as you release the day
just passed and all that it held, feeling lighter and more free with each breath as you let go
of everything you're holding onto, releasing it all into the stream.
surrendering completely into the peace and quiet of this moment, resting easy,
and the knowledge that you are enough exactly as you are, forgiving yourself,
for anything that you feel is left, undone, thanking your worries.
for the purpose they served, and then simply letting them go and wash away.
Going yourself to relax deeper and deeper towards sleep as you release your ties from the past
and let go of your expectations for the future.
opening yourself to the healing in this moment and this night of rest,
drifting on a current of peace, enjoying this time for stillness and silence,
shedding the old to make room for the new, trusting in the flow of your life,
knowing that peace is your natural state of existence.
Following the stream to carry everything that doesn't serve you farther and farther away
as you surrender to the current of the night,
drifting deeper and deeper that you are safe and that you are the
love that you are free to live this life in whatever way makes you happiest, surrendering
more and more with each passing breath into the deepest and most restful sleep.
Now if you're still conscious of my voice, that's perfectly fine.
There's no need to become worried or frustrated.
about when or how you may fall asleep.
Just follow the sound of my voice and rest your attention on the gentle in and out of your breath.
Take a long, slow breath in.
And as you exhale, imagine your body letting go and melting.
Just a bit more, deeper down into the bed, letting those muscles of your face.
Once again, relax completely.
Feeling your jaw unlatch and your tongue rests down in your mouth,
continuing to breathe at your own natural pace, but just allowing that breath to be.
to move ever so deeply and ever so slowly, ever so effortlessly.
Each inhale, collecting any lingering tension in your body, and each exhale, expeling that
tension, allowing you to soften and relax down just that bit more.
And in this way, that repeating cycle of your breath will slowly and inevitably guide you deeper into relaxation and closer to sleep.

This one holding a regret, something you wish you'd done differently.
Once again, seeing the story of that regret contained in this pedal,
noticing the ways in which it's shaped your life for the better.
And yet, how it still manages to hold you back and limit you.
How good it will feel to finally let go of this regret.
You say to it, thank you for everything you taught me,
but I'm ready to let go of you now.
So goodbye.
And then you drop it into the stream, watching it wash away, drifting farther and farther until it disappears.
Feeling that corresponding weight from your mind and body to soften even deeper down into ease, relaxation.
Doing this same process now, one pedal at a time. First, picking a pedal,
for a person you've been trying to please and just letting it go, releasing it into the stream,
and surrendering deeper into this moment and the joy and comfort.
And knowing that you are worthy exactly as you are, that there's nothing you need to do,
that you have to please.
a pedal for something your family or society or anyone else tells you you should have or could have or need to do.
Seeing that story contained in the flower pedal as you let it go and float down the stream
farther and farther into the distance, allowing you to surrender.
And with every pedal you pluck and release in this way, a flower becomes lighter, more free.
And so do you.
You're shedding the layers of the day, stripping away the noise, the expectations of the
outside world, resting deeper and deeper to the quiet stillness of this very moment.
And as you let go more and more, ever deeper in this way, that this stream is endless.
And however much you're ready to let go of, this stream can take as much as you have to give it.
Gating your own trail of colorful petals, drifting off under the moonlight, beginning to see your burdens.
as beautiful ornaments floating on the water, leaving you with the space,
the freedom, the positive, uplifted energy, to reshape your life, path you're on,
and the stories you tell yourself, laxing deeper and deeper as you release the day just passed,
and all that had held lighter breath as you let go of everything you're holding on to,
releasing it all into the stream, surrendering completely into the peace and quiet of this moment,
resting easy in the knowledge that you are enough exactly as you are,
for anything that you feel is left.
Undone, thanking your worries for the purpose they serve,
and then simply letting them go.
And wash away, going yourself to relax deeper towards sleep
as you release your ties from the past and let go of your expectations.
for the future. Opening yourself to the healing in this moment and this night of rest,
drifting, enjoying this time for stillness and silence, shedding the old to make room for the new.
Trusting in the flow of your life is your natural state of existence.
In this dream, be everything that doesn't serve you farther and farther away as you surrender
to the current of the night, drifting deeper and deeper that you are safe, that you are love,
that you are free to live this life in whatever way makes you happiest,
surrendering each passing breath into the deepest and most restful,
sleep. Now if you're still conscious of my voice, that's perfectly fine. There's no need to
become worried or frustrated about when you may fall asleep.
Just follow the sound of my voice and rest your attention on the gentle in and out of your breath.
Take a long, slow breath in.
And as you exhale, imagine your body letting go and melting just a bit more deeper down into the bed.
letting those muscles of your face.
Once again, relax completely.
Feeling your jaw unlatch,
and your tongue rest down in your mouth,
continuing to breathe at your own natural pace.
But just allowing that breath,
ever so deeply,
and ever so slowly, ever so effortlessly.
Each inhale,
collecting any lingering tension in your body.
And each exhale, expelling that tension,
bringing you to soften and relax down.
Just that bit more.
And in this way, that repeating cycle of your breath
will slowly and inevitably guide you deeper into relaxation.
closer to sleep or when you'll fall asleep tonight.
But I do know that we all fall asleep in our own way and on our own time.
And additionally, that we are designed to rest is a natural part of being human.
And as such, your body knows how to rest.
and it will fall asleep in exactly the right way and at exactly the right time for you here tonight.
So with each passing breath, allow yourself to relax that bit deeper, letting go of any tension.
Moment by moment, whether it's physical tension, emotional tension, or cognitive tension.
And as you let go or in this way, just notice if there's any lingering bits of tension.
Thoughts, peace, you tell yourself.
And if you find any such tensions, don't try to fight it.
Just acknowledge that it's there.
There's no need to ridge yourself of this tension.
Be it's there for a purpose.
going to do here tonight is transform the energy in that tension away from a negative and limiting
sense of energy into one that's productive positive and freeing and so those tensions may be for you
Here tonight, if you'd like to let go of them, to transform them into something more positive, you can begin to envision the image of yourself, standing in a magnificent moonlit garden.
The air is soft on your skin.
It's cool, and it smells of damp earth and blooming flowers.
beneath your feet.
As a soft layer of moss,
it feels like velvet,
and just off in the distance.
You see a small,
crystal clear stream,
and so you walk towards it,
noticing the bubbling and bobbing sounds of the water.
As it flows over smooth silver stones,
and you discover
On the bank of the stream, a single beautiful flower.
It's the most perfect flower you've ever seen.
Its petals are large, vibrant, and soft to the touch.
And in a certain way, you begin to see yourself and the flower, such that it represents your day.
for your life up to this moment.
You've grown and bloomed.
With each pedal holding a memory,
a story, a relationship.
And as you reach out and gently touch the first pedal,
an image comes to your mind.
And it's the image of something that you know
you no longer need to carry.
right now. Perhaps it's a conversation that didn't go well, a worry about tomorrow, a phase,
or a relationship that you're struggling to move on from. But whatever it is for you, see the story
contained in that flower petal and recognize how that story has served you in certain ways,
Yet simultaneously, it's holding you back now.
Rest.
The freedom of the journey of life that you're headed to.
So whisper to that story and that flower petal for everything you've taught me.
But now it's time to say goodbye.
And so you pluck that pedal from the flower,
and you place it onto the surface of the stream below, letting go of it, releasing that story,
surrendering it to the flow of the water, and it drifts off into the distance, effortlessly,
continuously drifting farther and farther until it disappears.
And as you watch that pedal and its associated story,
disappear into the distance.
You feel a corresponding weight lifted from your body.
That allows both your mental, spiritual, and physical being to relax even deeper and deeper down.
That feeling of greater peace and relaxation.
It feels so good and relieving.
that you decide to pick another pedal.
This one holding a regret.
Something you wish you'd done differently.

Now if you're still conscious of my voice, that's perfectly fine.
There's no need to become worried or frustrated about when you may fall asleep.
Just follow the sound of my voice and rest your attention.
on the gentle in and out of your breath.
Take a long, slow breath in.
And as you exhale, imagine your body letting go and melting just a bit more, deeper down,
into the bed, letting those muscles of your face, once again, relax.
completely, feeling your jaw unlatch and your tongue rests down in your mouth, continuing
to breathe at your own natural pace, but just allowing that breath to move ever so deeply
and ever so slowly, ever so effortlessly, tension in your body, and each exhale,
Spelling that tension,
when you to soften and relax down.
Just that bit more.
And in this way,
that repeating cycle of your breath
will slowly and inevitably
guide you deeper into relaxation,
closer to sleep
exactly how or when you'll fall asleep tonight.
But I do know
that we all fall asleep in our own way and on our own time.
And additionally, that we are designed to rest is a natural part of being human.
And as such, your body knows how to rest.
And it will fall asleep in exactly the right way.
And at exactly the right time,
for you here tonight.
So with each passing breath,
allow yourself to relax that bit deeper,
letting go of any tension moment by moment,
whether it's physical tension,
emotional tension,
or cognitive tension.
And as you let go in this way,
just notice if there's any lingering bits of tension.
Thoughts, worries, you tell yourself.
And if you find any such tensions, don't try to fight it.
Just acknowledge that it's there.
There's no need to ridge yourself of this tension.
Be it's there for a purpose.
And all we're going to do here tonight
is transform the energy in that,
tension away from a negative and limiting sense of energy into one that's productive,
positive, and freeing.
No matter what those tensions may be for you here tonight, if you'd like to let go of them,
to transform them, into something more positive, you can begin to envision.
vision, the image of yourself, standing in a magnificent moonlit garden is soft on your skin.
It's cool and it smells of damp earth and blooming flowers underneath your feet.
As a soft layer of moss, it feels like velvet and just off in the distance.
You see a small, crystal clear stream, and so you walk towards it, noticing the bubbling and bobbing
sounds of the water as it flows over smooth silver stones, and you discover on the bank of the stream
a single beautiful flower.
It's the most perfect flower you've ever seen.
These petals are large, vibrant, and soft to the touch.
And in a certain way, you begin to see yourself and the flower such that it represents
your day or your life up to this moment.
You've grown and bloomed with each pedal holding a memory, a story.
a relationship. And as you reach out and gently touch the first pedal, an image comes to your mind.

So whisper to that story in that flower pedal for everything you've taught me.
But now it's time to say goodbye.
And so you pluck that pedal from the flower,
and you place it onto the surface of the stream below,
letting go of it, releasing that story, surrendering it to the flow of the water.
and it drifts off into the distance, effortlessly, continuously drifting farther and farther,
until it disappears.
And as you watch that pedal and its associated story, disappear into the distance, you feel a corresponding weight lifted from your body.
That allows both your mental, spiritual, and physical being.
It lacks even deeper and deeper down.
That feeling of greater peace and relaxation, it feels so good and relieving that you decide to pick another pedal.

Release from your mind and body to soften even deeper down into ease.

Continuing this same process now.
One pedal at a time.
First, picking a pedal for a person you've been trying to please.
And just letting it go, releasing it into the stream and surrendering deeper into this moment.

the layers of the day, stripping away the noise, the expectations of the outside world,
resting deeper and deeper, quiet stillness of this very moment.
And as you let go more and more, ever deeper in this way, that this stream is endless.
And however much you're ready to let go of, this stream can take as much as much.

the moonlight, beginning to see your burdens as beautiful ornaments floating on the water
with the space, the freedom, the positive, uplifted energy to reshape your life, the path
you're on and the stories you tell yourself, relaxing deep as you release the day just passed,
and all that it held with each breath as you let go of everything you're holding onto,
piecing it all into the stream, surrendering completely into the peace and quiet of this moment,
resting easy in the knowledge that you are enough exactly as you are.
For giving yourself, for anything that you feel is left, undone in your worries, for the purpose
they serve, simply letting them go and wash away, going yourself to relax deeper.

As you release your ties from the past,
let go of your expectations for the future.
Opening yourself to the healing in this moment and this night of rest,

And as you reach out and gently touch the first pedal, an image comes to your mind.
And it's the image of something that you know you no longer need to carry right now.
Perhaps it's a conversation that didn't go well, a worry about tomorrow, a phase or a relationship.
that you're struggling to move on from.
But whatever it is for you, see the story contained in that flower pedal.
And recognize how that story has served you in certain ways.
Yet simultaneously, it's holding you back now.
From the rest, the freedom of the journey of life.
that you're headed to.
So whisper to that story
and that flower pedal
for everything you've taught me.
But now
it's time to say goodbye.
And so you pluck
that pedal from the flower
and you place it onto the surface
of the stream below,
letting go of it.
Releasing that story,
surrendering it
to the flow of the water.
And it drifts off into the distance, effortlessly, continuously drifting farther and farther,
till it disappears.
And as you watch that pedal and its associated story, disappear into the distance, you feel a corresponding weight lifted from your body.
That allows both your mental, spiritual, and physical being to relax even deeper and deeper down.
And that feeling of greater peace and relaxation, it feels so good and relieving that you decide to pick another pedal.
This one holding a regret, something you wish you'd do.
done differently. Once again, seeing the story of that regret contained in this pedal, noticing the
ways in which it's shaped your life for the better. And yet, how it still manages to hold you back
and limit you. How good it will feel to finally let go of this regret. You say, you're going to
to it, thank you for everything you taught me, but I'm ready to let go of you now. So goodbye.
You drop it into the stream, watching it wash away, drifting farther and farther until it disappears,
feeling that corresponding weight. Release from your mind and body to soften even deeper down.
into ease, comfort, and relaxation.
Continuing this same process now.
One pedal at a time.
First, picking a pedal for a person you've been trying to please
and just letting it go, releasing it into the stream
and surrendering deeper into this moment.
and the joy and comfort.
And knowing that you are worthy exactly as you are,
that there's nothing you need to do.
And no one that you have to please.
Plucking a pedal for something your family or society
or anyone else tells you you should have
or could have
or need to do
seeing that story
contained in the flower pedal
as you let it go
and float down the stream
farther and farther
into the distance
allowing you to surrender
release
and with every pedal you pluck
and release in this way
the flower become
lighter, more free.
And so to you as you're shedding the layers of the day,
stripping away the noise,
the expectations of the outside world,
resting deeper and deeper,
quiet stillness of this very moment.
And as you let go more and more,
ever deeper in this way,
that this stream is endless,
and however much,
you're ready to let go of.
This stream can take as much as you have to give it.
Creating your own trail of colorful petals.
Drifting off under the moonlight.
Beginning to see your burdens as beautiful ornaments
floating on the water.
You with the space.
The freedom of power.
positive, uplifted energy to reshape your life.
The path you're on and the stories you tell yourself,
relaxing deep as you release the day just passed,
and all that it held, lighter, or free,
with each breath, as you let go
of everything you're holding onto,
releasing it all into the stream,
surrendering completely into the peace and quiet of this moment, resting easy,
in the knowledge that you are enough, exactly as you are, forgiving yourself,
for anything that you feel is left, undone, making your worries, for the purpose they serve,
simply letting them go and wash away.
Going yourself to relax deeper towards sleep as you release your ties from the past of your expectations for the future.
Inning yourself to the healing in this moment and this night of rest, drifting of peace.
this time for stillness and silence, shedding the old to make room for the new.
Trusting in the flow of your life is your natural state of existence in this dream to carry everything that doesn't serve you farther and farther away as you surrender.
to the current of the night, drifting deeper, that you are safe and that you are love.
You are free to live this life in whatever way makes you happiest, surrendering with each
passing breath into the deepest and most restful sleep.
Now if you're still conscious of my voice, that's perfectly fine.
There's no need to become worried or frustrated about when you may fall asleep.
Just follow the sound of my voice and rest your attention on the gentle, in and out
of your breath.
Take a long, slow breath in.
And as you exhale, imagine your body letting go.
go and melting just a bit more deeper down into the bed, letting those muscles of your face.
Once again, relax completely, feeling your jaw unlatch, your tongue rests down in your mouth
to breathe at your own natural pace, but just allowing that breath,
to move ever so deeply and ever so slowly, ever so effortlessly.
Each inhale, collecting any lingering tension in your body, and each exhale, expelling that tension,
going you to soften and relax down, just that bit more.
And in this way, that repeating cycle of your breath will slowly and inevitably guide you deeper into relaxation, closer to sleep.
Exactly how or when you'll fall asleep tonight.
But I do know that we all fall asleep in our own way and on our own time.
And additionally, that we are.
are designed to rest. Sleep is a natural part of being human. And as such, your body knows how to rest.
And it will fall asleep in exactly the right way and at exactly the right time for you here tonight.
So with each passing breath, just allow yourself to relax that.
bit deeper, letting go of any tension moment by moment, whether it's physical tension, emotional
tension, cognitive tension.
And as you let go in this way, just notice if there's any lingering bits of tension, thoughts,
stories stories you tell yourself.
And if you find any such tensions, don't try to fight it.
Just acknowledge that it's there.
There's no need to rid yourself of this tension.
Indeed, it's there for a purpose.
What we're going to do here tonight is transform the energy in that tension away from a negative
limiting sense of energy into one that's productive, positive, and freeing.
And so, tensions may be for you here tonight.
If you'd like to let go of them, to transform them, into something more positive,
you can begin to envision the image of yourself, standing.
in a magnificent moonlit garden.
The air is soft on your skin,
and it smells of damp earth
and blooming flowers underneath your feet.
As a soft layer of moss,
it feels like velvet,
and just off in the distance.
You see a small, crystal clear stream,
and so you walk towards it,
noticing the bubbling and bobbing sounds of the water as it flows over smooth silver stones
and you discover on the bank of the stream a single beautiful flower it's the most perfect flower
you've ever seen its petals are large vibrant and soft to the touch
and in a certain way,
you begin to see yourself and the flower,
such that it represents your day
or your life up to this moment.
You've grown and bloomed,
with each petal holding a memory,
a story, a relationship.
