You can just listen to the sound of my voice as I guide you through a series of techniques that are designed to relax your mind and body and guide you into sleep. And those techniques tonight
Starting point is 00:02:54 will include some simple, slow breathing, a full body relaxation, a comforting visualization, and a series of affirmations. You don't need to worry about falling asleep or waking back up. Because I'll repeat that series a couple of times. So if you ever find yourself drifting back into consciousness, you can just tune back into my voice. as I guide you into sleep once again. So make yourself as comfortable as you can possibly be. Make any and every adjustment necessary.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Even just to get yourself one or two percent more comfortable, that might make all the difference. And once you've settled in, softly and slowly, begin to flutter your eyes closed, as though you're trying to resist the weight of your islands, but they're growing heavier and heavier until eventually that weight takes over and your eyes close all the way down, and as they shut all the way, and you enjoy that First moment of the darkness behind your islands. You can feel all of the muscles of your face.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Relax. Let's do a few rounds of deep breaths. What we'll do is breathe in, breathe out, hold, and repeat. And we'll do that for a moment or so. All you need to do is, is follow along with me, and you can begin by exhaling out all of your air so that you start on empty and now in to your own natural depth and rhythm of breath. Breathing in and as you breathe out, release the tension from your body. Allow yourself to sink deeper and deeper,
Starting point is 00:08:16 melting all the way down into the bed. That's right. Inhaling in, peace, tension back out. As you allow yourself to soften even deeper and deeper. Even just a few breaths can really begin to soften your body, ease your mind. and signal to your whole being that it's time to begin making your way into sleep. Help with that even more. Let's take a moment to relax your entire body.
Starting point is 00:09:57 So bring your awareness to the top of your head. And you're going to imagine that there's a slow, soothing wave of relaxation, moving through and across your body. And as it moves to each new part, there's an instant sense of softness and relaxation. So feeling that wave starting at the crown of your head, spreading over your forehead, softening the muscles of your face,
Starting point is 00:11:00 feeling all of those tiny muscles, relax all the way down. And the wave spreads over your cheeks and your jaw and your lips. It drifts down your neck and across your shoulders, releasing every knot, every point of tension. And you may even feel your shoulders sinking into the bed as that wave spreads further down your arms. Cross your elbows, through your forearms, to your wrists, your hands, and each and every one of your fingers. Feeling your arms relaxing and resting all the way down now. That wave continues to spread through your chest, blowing your heartbeat, bit by bit. through and softening the muscles of your back,
Starting point is 00:13:07 feeling every vertebra in your spine, loosen and soften, as if the weight of the day is melting away, spreads into your hips, moving down to your thighs, your knees, your calves, cross your ankles, through your feet,
Starting point is 00:14:13 and all the way to the tips of your toes. Now that the wave has spread through and across your entire body, you feel every part of you relaxing even deeper down, letting go of the physical body, allowing yourself to be heavy, yet almost floating as your car, completely at ease. Now that your body is relaxed, let's take a moment to help your mind relax and create some distance between those nagging, ruminating thoughts, which may still be acting
Starting point is 00:15:43 to keep you awake. And since you're even more deeply relaxed now, you can imagine. You can imagine yourself, floating, weightlessly, off of your bed, rising higher, out of your home, above your neighborhood, all the way into the sky where you find yourself, cradled softly, in the most peaceful, comforting cloud. The air is still, the world is quiet, and all you notice is, that soft hum of the wind in the sky above you stretches the vast expanse of space filled with countless stars and as you look at them more closely each star seems to whisper something to you all as well that you are safe that you are loved as you rest here held by the cloud and the peace and quiet of the night sky, your everyday worries and problems seem so far away all the way down there, somewhere far away on the earth below.
Starting point is 00:18:39 And as you notice this distance between yourself, and your thoughts and your worries, you may notice that they begin to shrink smaller and smaller as they move farther and farther from the present moment. They're so distant that even if you were to look over the edge of this cloud upon which you're resting and try to spot them all the way down below. You wouldn't even be able to find them because they are simply too far away, too far to be seen, too far to bother you right now.
Starting point is 00:20:09 And as you rest deeper and deeper into this comforting and distant place, may you remember that, all is well in this moment. You are safe to rest. There's nothing left for you to do right now. And you deserve peaceful sleep of what you cannot control. Brace a deeper sense of relaxation. Tomorrow will be better play a role in making it so into this night of rest. You are safe. You are supported. Is working out for the best. Even if you can't see how right now, you are safe.
Starting point is 00:23:43 You are supported. You are loved. Is working out for the best. Even if you can't see how right now, you can fall asleep now. It's okay. There's nothing left to do today. So just relax. Give yourself permission to enjoy a night of deep and restful sleep.
Starting point is 00:25:42 You deserve it because you deserve the best that life has to offer. Of your thoughts and your worries. Of the day just passed. Of your thoughts about tomorrow. Just enjoy this quiet moment. where you have absolutely nothing to do is okay. Never you feel that gentle pool of sleep, just let go and fall into peaceful dreams,
Starting point is 00:27:43 which will carry you to the light of tomorrow when you'll awake feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated and filled with a positive, positive and uplifting mindset about your own life and the future that lies ahead. But if you're still conscious of my voice, at this point, then there's no need to worry or be frustrated. Just follow the sound of my words. And let's guide your mind and body into an even deeper state of rest and relaxation. Let's do a few rounds of deep breaths.
