before tonight's episode begins.
This recording is specifically designed
to help talk you down into a deep state of relaxation and sleep.
As such, do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
Only listen once you're not.
in a comfortable, safe space, and ready to fall asleep.
Hey there, my friend.
Welcome to Sleep Escape.
And to tonight's adventure into the land of dreams.
In which you'll visit a cozy cabin,
snuggled away in a winter wonderland,
deep in the forest, and with snow falling outside.
There's nothing to do.
But relax.
Enjoy a warm cup of tea and cozy up by the crackling fire.
So go ahead and snuggle up in your own bed.
Wherever you are in the world right now,
make any adjustments necessary to get yourself as comfortable as possible,
even if it's just one percent more comfort.
That might make all the difference.
and how you sleep tonight, and you deserve a good night's rest.
Now before our story begins, out in the winter wonderland at cozy cabin,
let's take a moment to wind down your mind and body and help you transition from day to night,
and we'll begin this meditative wind down with the eyes open, just resting,
somewhere on the wall or ceiling right out in front of you.
And this may seem counterintuitive,
but it can be extremely effective at helping you relax and fall asleep.
So just rest your gaze there, nice and easy,
on anything that draws your attention across the way.
And just begin to notice the darkness around you,
as you slowly begin to feel the way.
the weight of your islands.
And as I count down
from five to one,
the weight of your islands
slowly begins to take over.
Starting at five,
just resting the gaze there.
Nice and easy.
No tension.
And four, beginning to feel that weight,
slowly gathering in your islands.
And three, your face beginning to soften and your eyes beginning to flicker shut as we arrive at two.
And you're barely able to resist that weight now.
It's beginning to take over, maybe seeing even just the slightest sliver through your eyes now.
And finally.
One, allowing your eyes to close, letting go of all resistance there.
and just feeling the muscles in and around your eyes,
relaxing down completely.
And that sense of relaxation begins to spread.
Feeling the muscles of your face soften down,
releasing the tension and the grip in your jaw.
Feeling that relaxation spread through your neck and into your shoulders,
like a wave of softness.
passing through you, down both arms, releasing every single muscle, every joint along the way
into your hands and all the way to the tips of your fingers and just noticing how it feels
to have your arms completely relaxed and turned off as that wave now spreads into your chest
and your upper back, feeling each muscle melt into softness,
and down your spine through your belly, into your hips, brew your thighs, and all the way
down your legs, softening each muscle and each joint as that wave of relaxation moves down to the
tips of your toes. And once that sense of relaxation has passed all the way through your body,
just imagine that there's a switch for your entire being and like a light. When that switch is on,
everything is awake and the energy is flowing. But when that switch is turned off,
everything settles all the way down your thoughts your breath your heartbeat and everything else in the
beautiful system of your body slows all the way down into a comfortable and cozy resting state
and so now if you're ready to enter that state of rest simply imagine just imagine
Flipping that switch to your entire being all the way off.
And as you do, just feel all of the tension, all of the stress, all of the worry,
all of the to-does dissipate and disappear entirely.
Now this time is just for you.
There's nothing to do.
No answers to find.
No problems to solve.
Nothing to show up for.
And that's such a nice feeling, isn't it?
Because you've done enough today.
So let's take two deep breaths to help you settle just that bit deeper.
So inhale, filling all the way up into your chest and down into your belly.
And then exhale.
Release even slower, even longer than you inhaled.
Once more, even slower, even deeper this time.
Inhale and exhale.
Allow the rhythm of your breath to fall back to its own natural pace and depth as though
your whole being is easing into a softer tempo.
And with each passing breath, just imagine yourself drifting as light as a snowflake in the winter sky as a twilight evening in some faraway forest, simply falling into stillness.
And it's here that a beautiful scene begins to form all around you.
A winter wonderland appearing like a dream.
The world is blanketed and a soft layer of glistening snow, perfectly white, untouched, pristine,
and faintly sparkling beneath a deep winter sky.
All majestic evergreens rise on either side of a narrow pathway.
Their branches bowing under the wall.
under the weight of the snow.
And as you're walking along,
this peaceful winter path,
you notice that pleasant crunch
of your feet in the snow,
a sound so steady and soothing
that each step
draws you deeper into the present moment
and deeper into calm.
Because here, in this winter wonderland,
there's nothing.
thing for you to do or worry about. The only thing here is just ahead of you. Neatly between the trees.
It's a small but cozy wooden cabin with warm light glowing through its frosted windows,
gently inviting you towards the comfort and warmth inside, twirling up from the chimney
into the deepening evening sky is a twisting plume of smoke.
This cottage is your winter sanctuary, a place where the world can't reach you,
a place where time slows, where silence is a friend, where rest feels natural and easy.
And you carry on down the path towards the cabin,
Nice and slowly, each step, each crunch of snow, just bringing you 1% deeper into a state of relaxation
and ease. But in due time, you reach the front porch and step up to the front door, running your
hands along the old, knotted and grainy wood that forms the front door that forms the front door, running your hands along the old,
knotted and grainy wood that forms the cabin wall, appreciating the care and craftsmanship that was put into
this quaint and loving home. And then you place your hand on the door handle, twisting it open
and feeling a wave of warm air, embracing you, wrapping around your body like a soft,
and cozy blanket.
You step inside
and notice the glowing firelight
that reaches every corner of the home.
The scent of pine and old wood fills the air.
The fire crackles in the stone hearth.
Each gentle pop
a friendly and playful invitation
to a cozy night.
You slip off your outer wear,
your coat,
your shoes and you wiggle your toes on the warm hard wood beneath you and as you close the door
the world outside melts away with all of its busyness and problems here there's nothing to do there's nothing to fix
or solve you can simply be and enjoy a peaceful night
all by yourself. And in that spirit, you take a moment just to explore around the cabin,
first walking over to the bookshelf, lined with old leathery texts, and just in front of it
is a plush, armchair, sitting next to the fire with a thick, fluffy blanket draped across.
as if it's waiting just for you.
Candles flicker on the mantelpiece, combining with the firelight.
To evoke a dreamy warmth throughout the room,
you meander over to the little kitchen nook
where a steel kettle rests on the stovetop.
You pick it up and fill it with fresh water,
setting it back down on the stove
and turning on the stove top
to heat it up.
You pick out your favorite tea.
Something calming and fragrant.
And just then,
the kettle begins to whisper
and sigh.
So you turn off the stove
and pour steaming water
into your cup.
Almost immediately,
the aroma rises to your nose,
sending away.
wave of ease and relaxation all the way through your body with the mug grasped between your hands,
spreading its warmth directly into you. You take a seat in the armchair, curl up beneath the
blanket and feel its weight, settle on top of you. And for a moment, you just sit there,
watching the firelight dance across the floorboards, watching the snow,
fall outside the window in gentle spirals and twirls, which seem like whispers of the forest.
Nothing strong or sharp, but soft and flowing, as though nature itself were drifting towards sleep right beside you.
You take a sip of your tea, feeling the warmth travel through your chest and into your belly.
And almost instantly, you feel a sense of release somewhere deep inside of you,
tension that you didn't realize you were holding.
melts. Your mind softens. Your thoughts begin to drift farther and farther away like snowflakes.
Being blown through the winter night, your gaze drifts across the room to a small, hand-crafted wooden table,
and as your eyes trace the lines of this table.
You can tell that it was made patiently with love and care and true craftsmanship.
And there's something deeply pleasing about that, you think,
because everything in life isn't about being fast or maximizing.
Some things are about going slow and caring about the details.
It brings a sense of timelessness to such things.
And just beside that table,
as a stack of cut wood, ready and waiting for time in the fireplace.
Next to the front door, there's hand-knitted mittens in all different colors, sizes, and designs.
Every little detail.
in this cozy cabin tells the same quiet truth that here life is simple, that here you are safe
and you have everything you need and that here comfort is your natural state of being. You take more time
to notice the little trinkets and pieces of art that decorate the wall
like the old wooden guitar, the stone figurines of dancing fairies and forest animals,
the elegant paintings of nature scenes and snow-topped mountains.
But there's one little painting that draws your attention especially,
because it's a painting of a cozy cabin that looks much,
like this one. And although the act of standing up seems like quite a bit of effort and the state of
relaxation you're currently in, you do so just for a second to grab that little painting
and hold it in your hands. And as you look more closely at its details, you notice that indeed
it is a painting of this very cabin you're currently in.
And there's something so peaceful about that, you think,
as though the person who made this painting
could see their own life more objectively.
They could look at themselves from the outside in
and not just at the world, from the inside out.
And as you put the painting down,
and return to your seat next to the fire.
Your mind wanders to that same imaginary view
of envisioning yourself right here and right now.
From the outside in this cozy winter cabin
surrounded by a snow-covered forest,
warm firelight glowing through the windows,
cradling the last sips of your teeth,
in your own hidden sanctuary and it's only when you finish your last sip of tea that you return
from this pleasant dream to the crackling of the fire beside you eyes lift towards the wooden staircase
leading to the loft above as if inviting you for a rest that you so deeply deserve
So you put your teacup away, fold the blanket, and put it back on the chair, close the doors on the fireplace, and take one last look at the few remaining embers, glowing in red, orange, and yellow, and you slowly make your way up the stairs, each step gently creaking beneath you.
like a soft whisper of encouragement from the cabin itself.
And at the top of the stairs, you find a wide, cozy bed tucked beneath the slanted roof.
There's layers of quilts in deep winter colors.
Like midnight blue, pine green, and angel white, all stacked,
and resting patiently on the bed, ready and waiting to wrap you up and send you into sleep.
The head of the bed, a small, round window, frames the snow-covered forest outside.
Little snowflakes drifting past like tiny midnight dancers, illuminated by the moon.
And as you watch those snowflakes fall, you notice that the entire world outside seems to be moving in slow motion, the swaying of the trees, the movement of the clouds.
And as you observe this, you notice that your breath naturally begins to follow and out, slow and soft.
like snowfall. But now you can no longer resist the desire to rest. So you slip beneath the
quilts, feeling their warmth, surround you instantly, sinking into every muscle, every cell
that still holds tension. You sigh out a long breath and sink into the embracing softness of the
bed, feeling a sense of relief and enjoyment wash over you. And from your vantage point,
as you lay in bed in the loft, you can still see the flickers and shadows of the fire along
the cabin walls, dancing slowly across the rafters in a quiet rhythm that pulls you deeper
and deeper.
with each passing moment into the loosening grip of sleep.
And as you soften all the way down into the bed, your next breath reminds you of the sense
filling the cabin air and your fragrant tea.
And with each passing breath, you feel a growing sense of peace because nothing is required
of you here.
Not a single thought, not a single child.
not a single gesture, not a single tiny bit of effort.
You can simply be exactly as you are.
This night, this cabin, this warm and cozy bed.
A will protect and carry you into a better tomorrow.
The world will carry on outside, and that's just fine.
The snow will continue its slow and steady descent.
will drift. The trees will sway from side to side. But here you can just rest deeper and deeper down,
knowing that you are free to let go completely. Winter Wonderland all around you is watching over.
