Will anyone lead police to the body??Along the way, we find out that Seth Bullock & Wild Bill Hickok didn't even know each other, that owing someone $250 for meth can be a life threatening situation, and that being on meth for 4 straight days can skew your remembering of times & dates!!New episodes every Thursday!Donate at: patreon.com/crimeinsports or go to paypal.com and use our email: crimeinsports@gmail.comGo to shutupandgivememurder.com for all things Small Town Murder & Crime In Sports!Follow us on...twitter.com/@murdersmallfacebook.com/smalltownpodinstagram.com/smalltownmurderAlso, check out James & Jimmie's other show, Crime In Sports! We're gonna get into that patreon.com Slash crime in sports that said I think it's time everybody Oh, and you get a shout out at the end of the show with that as well So that said I think it's time everybody, oh and you get a shout out at the end of the regular show with that as well. So that said, I think it's time everybody to sit back, what do you say here? Let's all clear the lungs here, arms to the sky, let's all shout! SHUT UP AND GIVE ME MURDER! Let's do this everybody. There we go.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Let's go on a trip, shall we? We are going to Belle Foosh, South Dakota. Yeah. Now, if I gave you 10 tries on the spelling of Belle Foosh, South Dakota, you would need 20, because it's ridiculous. B-E-H in this shit? No, B-C, there you go. B-E-L-L-E, like Belle, the French version.
Starting point is 00:04:04 And then F-O-U-R-C-H-E, that's Foosh. Be ll e like yeah, Bell the French version and then F-o-u-r C-h-e that's foosh and there's an R. There's an R That's foosh. Okay. That is some that sounds like some like Louisiana shit, right? Yeah, it sounds very French South of New Orleans or something. This is in South sounds on yet Uneducated is what it sounds. Yeah, I'm not saying it is. That's probably just how you pronounce it. I don't even know. We don't know anything about it. The last thing we know about is French. Speaking of uneducated, we're the dummies. We're dummies. We don't know anything about other languages. We know nothing.
Starting point is 00:04:40 This is in southwestern South Dakota, about four hours to Billings, Montana to the west, about a half hour to Deadwood, which we've done before, and then about six hours to our last episode, which was in Yankton, South Dakota. That was the Hammerhands Killer. That was a wild episode with the hammer. You got to listen to that if you haven't. Episode 551. This is in Butte County, like Butte, Montana, even though it's in South Dakota.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Okay, this is area code 605. Population here, 5,561 people. So small place, not a big town at all. Median household income here, it's usually about 69,000 in the rest of the country here, it is 46,151. So significantly lower than the national average. And the median home cost here is $263,100. So tough if you're making $46,000. That's a tough one. A little bit of history. I guess BelleFouche is French for beautiful fork. Yeah. See, that's what I mean. We don't know anything.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Yeah, see that's what I mean. We don't know anything It was named Yeah, it was named by French explorers who referred to the confluence of what is now the bell fuchs and Redwater rivers And the Hay Creek fork in the river beautiful fork, and it's a nice area, too. It's very pretty South Dakota's a scenic area It's really pretty beaver trappers work in the rivers, you know That's we call them. We call them pimps in the 21st century, but back then they beaver trappers work in the rivers, you know That's we call them. We call them pimps in the 21st century, but back then they're beaver trappers I guess they were called I don't know work in the rivers trying to get the ladies. No, that's not what it's a bar fly actual beaver trappers here and during the gold rush of
Starting point is 00:06:18 1876 farmers and ranchers settled in the valleys and grew food for the meat and things for the miners. So it became that. Now Seth Bullock, who you might remember from the show Deadwood, the character Seth Bullock, Timothy Oliphant's character, that's a kind of a half-true, half-made-up account of Seth Bullock on Deadwood. Some of the stuff is true, but then some of the stuff isn't. The dates are moved around a little bit. So Seth Bullock... He didn't steal his brother's wife. Isn't that who she was? He died back then that was considered a noble thing to do to marry your brother's widow so they wouldn't be you know Homeless so
Starting point is 00:06:57 I guess Seth Bullock knew that the cattle barons in the railroad would need a place to load cattle onto freight cars for shipment to packing plants in the Midwest so Seth Bullock pretty much founded Belfouche as a really a place to do that. Yeah. So Timothy Oliphant founded this town, which is interesting here. Now he arrived in Deadwood actually on August 2nd, 1876 to sell supplies to the Deadwood miners, just like in the show, but he arrived the day while Bill Huck, Hickok was killed. So that whole friendship from the show
Starting point is 00:07:32 couldn't happen. He didn't even know him? God damn it. Might have seen him, but never, you know, didn't hang out and have dinner with him. I just love that they sat there building the place after getting drunk all day. That was great. Playing cards and shit. Throwing hammers after being hammered.
Starting point is 00:07:48 So here's some reviews of this town here. Five stars. This town is one of the greatest small towns that anyone could find in the United States. The community is full of loving wonderful people who want to give back to one another. Summers, winters and every season always brings a nostalgia that makes you feel like life couldn't get any better. Bellefouche is an amazing rodeo town with great people. Here you go, this is where I'm taking you James.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Talk about the rodeo here. Three stars, for the most part it's a very safe area. Mostly smaller towns where everyone knows each other or is willing to give a helping hand if needed. The police can be very single minded. They think they are always right and would rather argue than listen. That sounds like cops. But still it's a safe area.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Here's two stars, or three stars, I'm sorry. The seasons are very different from one another. Very hot summers and very cold winters. Not listening to this idiot. Your review is over sir, done. That's Not listening to this idiot. You don't say. Your review is over, sir. Done. That's very specific to this area. I'm not gonna listen to some idiot tell me that summer's different from winter.
Starting point is 00:08:50 You don't deserve to be heard, asshole. Go away. Okay, not everyone deserves a voice. You know what I mean? Two stars. You're moving on. Sugar's sweet. Sugar is sweet and salt is salty.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Water is wet. So two stars. In our town. We have very limited eating choices neighboring Localities offer a few more choices We might find some better food choices for food and entertainment 30 miles away in our gambling city Deadwood Yeah, yeah, there's not a lot going on here in this town. We'll put it that way You know things go to deadwood you go to deadwood, which is not a lot going on here in this town. We'll put it that way. You want to go to Deadwood. You go to Deadwood, which is also a small town.
Starting point is 00:09:28 So that's interesting. Things to do here, the Black Hills Rodeo Roundup. Here we go. Roundup Rodeo, I apologize here. And they say, here's the description, just what is a ranch rodeo? In many ways it harkens back to the roots of the Black Hills Roundup when working ranch skills were put to the test in back to the roots of the Black Hills Roundup when working ranch skills were put to the test in competitions
Starting point is 00:09:47 for the enjoyment of spectators. Ranch rodeos are still events in which traditional working cowboys gather to compete and demonstrate skills that are used every day in cattle ranching operations. So I think these aren't like your professional touring rodeo people, these are like fucking ranch hands that actually are. Yeah, these are real people. Yeah, that's what I mean, which is interesting.
Starting point is 00:10:09 They say that they're. They don't do it for sport, they do it for their job. Yes, they have to do it. This is how they eat. They're trying to create a more genuine presentation of real life ranch work. Yeah, I don't know if the traditional rodeos, if a lot of those events actually have any real relevance in
Starting point is 00:10:27 actual ranching. Do you have to ride a bucking horse every day for eight seconds? Probably not. I assume your horses are probably pretty trained by then or whatever. So they said bucking stock are not used in ranch rodeo unless the ranch rodeo contestants unintentionally provide their own. So that's what that is. And most of the events in the traditional rodeos are events for individual competitors.
Starting point is 00:10:49 There's no events for individual competitors in ranch rodeos. This is a team event. Teams consist of four cowboys. And a typical ranch rodeo will have four or five events. Each team has a maximum time limit of two and a half minutes to successfully complete each event. Mutton busting will also be a part of the rodeo. They say the Black Hills Roundup today is bigger and better than ever drawing top ranked cowboys and cowgirls to compete in heart-pounding events like
Starting point is 00:11:16 barrel racing, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, bull riding, and team roping and more. God damn, all the classics. We're gonna enter the teen roping competition, or team roping, not teen roping. That'd be a really weird one. Just go to a high school and then, get over here you little bastard. Just set out a naked 13 year old and try to rope her.
Starting point is 00:11:40 I wasn't even thinking naked, I was thinking kids in a school going, take those goddamn crocs off and put some fucking sneakers on you goddamn asshole. I wasn't thinking of naked. I was thinking kids like in a school gone take those goddamn Crocs off and put some fucking sneakers I'm your goddamn asshole. I wasn't thinking of it sexually at all, but I like Yeah So, um, yeah also they said they'll have patriotic parades and every moment is packed with Western charm adrenaline and Americana, yeah, and in addition to the community barbecue, mutton busting and all the events, they will
Starting point is 00:12:06 also have the Miss Black Hills Rodeo Roundup Queen coronation there as well. Hell yeah, there we go. Queen of the Rodeo. Also parades, fireworks and concerts. Concerts of such consequence that they don't name one of the bands. So you know they're going to be great. So good. That said, let's talk about some murder, shall we?
Starting point is 00:12:24 Here we go. Yeah, holy shit This is crazy alright. We're gonna go back to 2004 for this whole thing here this this mess 2004 in July and 2004 not that long ago still internet cell phones just you know internet's not really on your cell phone. That's the only difference Yeah, I mean yeah, it can be but it's not That's the only difference. Yeah, I mean, yeah. It can be, but it's not. Little less. It takes about 20 minutes
Starting point is 00:12:45 to check your email on your phone back then. Little less technology. Not every car had fucking navigation. Yeah, that's all. Otherwise, same world, pretty much. So let's talk about Troy Jason Klug. K-L-U-G. Troy Klug. Klug with a K.
Starting point is 00:13:01 With a K. Jesus, please. Hard Klug. He's born May 27th, 1978 here, Troy. So, you know, he's about 26 here in 2004. He's born in Rapid City, South Dakota to parents Ronald and Joyce. And he was a boy scout when he was a child, real into sports, track, baseball, soccer, loves to go out and
Starting point is 00:13:26 do outdoor shit with his dad, hunting, fishing, all the stuff people kind of do in this area. He's into it. Yeah, kind of a young, real all-American kind of lifestyle here. Something went wrong after high school though, because in high school, he was in the sports and this kind of thing, but by 2004, he appears to be a pretty severe meth addict. Oh, T-Roy. Is not going well for Troy at this point in time. I mean, his family, he still talks to his family and gets along with them.
Starting point is 00:13:58 He's not, hasn't been banished from the family or anything, doesn't, hasn't, his mother never came home and found all her furniture gone because he hocked it for meth or anything. His mother never came home and found all her furniture gone because he hacked it for meth or anything like that. He's not a terrible piece of shit. He's just a drug addict and that's, you know, that kind of thing. He's got a girlfriend named, I don't know if it's
Starting point is 00:14:16 Dwayna or Duana. D-U-A-N-A. It's Dwayne. It's Dwayne with an A, so I'm calling her Dwayna because that's what I called her the whole time I was doing the notes. I was like, this is Dwayne. It's Dwayne with an A, so I'm calling her Dwayna, because that's what I called her the whole time I was doing the notes. I was like, this is Dwayna Beebe, and her last name's Beebe, B-E-E-B-E, Beebe.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Dwayna Beebe. Wow, that's Troy's girl right there. Don Beebe's daughter. Yeah, I had it written under here, possibly Don Beebe's daughter. Let's check and see if her neck is springy, and then we'll know. Rubber-headed little girl. Let's check and see if her neck is springy. And then we'll know.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Rubber-headed little girl. Drop her on her head, directly on her head. If she bounces up, then she's Don Beebe's daughter. We know that. If she just like, it shoots up like a spring. We'll name her Dwayna. That's a real old school sports reference from the 90s. A Buffalo Bills wide receiver that once, there's footage of him,
Starting point is 00:15:03 it's a famous play of him Landing directly on his head and he just bounces. It's like it's like a pogo stick It's the craziest fucking thing ever and then he gets up and walks away. I was like, oh my god Is the ground rule double off of Kinseko's head it's just as fucking wild Well, that's the guys get hit in the head though. The hat kind of protects you a little bit Not all this is not over The fence like that was funny. Yeah, this was like unbelievable if the guy was alive never mind Had his neck intact. Yeah, there's a guy playing for the Jets that wishes he was that springy in the neck. Yeah
Starting point is 00:15:38 So Duane's Brother's name is Robert highly appropriate H H I G H ly Dwayna's brother's name is Robert Hiley. Appropriate, H-I-G-H-L-Y. Hiley. Hiley. Jesus Christ. And he is another meth guy and he's Troy's friend.
Starting point is 00:15:53 He is highly high. Yeah, he's Troy's friend and Dwayna's brother. Okay. So that's how this works. Now, on the night of July the 12th, 2004, Robert comes over to where Dwayna and Troy are living. And he is going to go out with Troy. Troy and Robert are going to go out together to go to a woman named Cynthia Kindle's house
Starting point is 00:16:18 in Rapid City to get some meth. Now Dwayna is pissed off. She said that he wanted to go get the drugs as a front. Basically, he owed this Kindle money for meth. So he was gonna go get meth fronted to him so he could sell it and pay back for both loans. Get the money back and yeah. Get the last one and get this one paid for and be on even ground. That's the plan here, okay? Wow, balancing drug debt. Oh man, that's worse than credit cards. Rob and Peter to pay Paul for meth is a lot.
Starting point is 00:16:52 And then get high. Rob and Peter to get Paul high. And they're both still trying to sell you meth. Yeah, and we're sober. Now Kindle was also Dwayne Obibi's drug dealer, so it's not like they were, she's innocent in this whole thing either. Everybody's doing meth.
Starting point is 00:17:06 Everyone we're gonna talk about in this story does a shitload of meth. There's not a human, until we get to like the court proceedings, and maybe the district attorney or something, everyone else is on meth. It's crazy. And we don't even know if the lawyers are not on meth, they just aren't in trouble for it.
Starting point is 00:17:20 We have no idea, yeah. They're not arrested for it. So they end up leaving, and now she's pissed, by the way. She just had surgery, apparently, Dwayna. So she's like, you're leaving me here post-surgery to go get meth. Thanks a lot, asshole. She's pissed.
Starting point is 00:17:38 She said I was mad because I couldn't believe he was even going over there. I was recovering from surgery. Like, this is crazy. So they said, bye, change your bandages on your own. And Robert and Troy took off to go get some meth. Now apparently Troy calls his girlfriend, Duana, multiple times after that from when they left,
Starting point is 00:18:02 but she wouldn't answer because she was upset with him for leaving. but she wouldn't answer because she was upset with him for leaving. So she wouldn't answer. Later on, Troy sent, later in the day, Troy sent Dwayne a text message asking, is Robert with you? Now they left together, so she's like, where the hell'd you guys get split up? She said, no, he's not.
Starting point is 00:18:23 And then she never talked to him again. Oh. Not on purpose either, she wanted to, because as the day went on, he never came home and she started to get worried. And now, you know, Mad has turned to worry. That's the thing, if you're gonna be late, be late enough where someone's worried.
Starting point is 00:18:42 That's a better reception when you get home than there's a middle ground where they're just mad. You gotta get away from that. You gotta come home earlier than mad or later than mad. But don't come home during the mad hours, that's bad. We all know that. Every guy knows that. Well, if I come home now, she's gonna be pissed.
Starting point is 00:18:56 If I wait a little while, she might be happy to see me. I'll wait two hours, she's gonna go, thank God, I've been so worried. Yeah, so about 7 p.m., or she called his phone multiple times and left voicemails, and after about 7 p.m. though, she couldn't leave any more messages because his voicemail was full.
Starting point is 00:19:14 She filled it up. She filled it up. So, where the hell is he, and where's Robert, and what's going on? Well, let's find out where he is. Well, he's at the Cynthia Kindle's house, the one we talked about that has the dealer the dealer. Yeah, she lives at 607 cloud Street and Also with her here at Cynthia Kindle's house is Tori Tegan
Starting point is 00:19:38 That's a guy by the way. We're gonna have a couple things where it's like a Jamie. That's a girl and a Tory That's a guy. So we're gonna have to keep things where it's like a Jamie that's a girl and a Tory that's a guy So we're gonna have to keep this straight Tory Teigen You'll be able to tell by his actions that he's definitely a guy So oh yeah, so I Tory Teigen's nickname is the Mad Hatter that's what everybody calls him I'm not a compliment by the way The Mad Hatter was insane and it was named after guys who went insane from inhaling chemicals. So it's not good. Which is what he does. He inhales chemicals and really Yeah, so Tori is there Tori Teigen. He'd been staying at Cynthia Kindle's house
Starting point is 00:20:17 now Tor Troy not Tori Troy Klug now. I'll just call him Klug, is our main guy here, and then I'll do Tory Teigen. So Klug, he proposed to buy some meth here and all of this type of thing. So they arrived, Hailey and Klug, Robert Hailey and Troy Klug, they meet Tory Teigen and Cynthia Kendall at the house. They asked Robert to leave, Robert they said leave yeah, so Robert gets in Troy Clugs vehicle and leaves
Starting point is 00:20:50 Really so now Troy is at the house by himself That's why he was texting little while went by and he was texting his girlfriend. Oh, where's your brother? Is he with you did he come back to the house to you know with my car fuck is he yeah, so a little while after that Where the fuck is he? Yeah, so a little while after that Cynthia Kendall leaves as well. She's got to take off. So just leaving Tory and Troy together leaving them together So Cynthia Kendall leaves back. She's not gone very long by the way She comes right back gone a little while half hour or whatever when she comes back She finds that Troy and Tory are both still there, but
Starting point is 00:21:25 Troy Tory Teigen had bound Troy Klug with duct tape. He is now duct taped and bound and then Cynthia Kendall and Tory Teigen loaded Klug into the trunk of Cynthia Kendall's black Nissan car and left So he's duct taped in the trunk now and dry clogged on the road. Yeah, they where are they going? to Dwayne a baby's house, of course
Starting point is 00:21:55 Dwayne is having them come over. Maybe they're maybe they're no they she doesn't even know they're coming. Oh They're going over there now. This is about 9 p.m. So this is two hours after the voicemail has been full. They're gonna roll up I don't know if they're gonna I mean, what are they gonna drop them off in the front porch all duct taped up like a Fucking FedEx package. I don't know what's going on weird way to get your credit declined Yeah, I would say talk about cutting up your cards. Yeah, so She was upstairs in her bedroom Duana recovering from the surgery, Kindle and Teagan come up the stairs to her bedroom and they ask her, do you know where Troy is? Right. Or she, I'm sorry. She asked them,
Starting point is 00:22:35 do you know where Troy is? I thought he was going to your house. Cynthia replies that Troy had shown up at her house, but she told him to leave. Huh? Doesn't say anything about them. We duct taped him and put him in the back of a fucking in a trunk If you listen real hard you can hear like beating against the trunk right now, it's a trunk lid of my 200 SX So at this point they start Troy Tory Tegan and Cynthia Kendall start going through rummaging through the room Through all of Troy Clugg stuff at one point here
Starting point is 00:23:11 Teigen Tori Teigen takes a bottle of Troy Clugs cologne and says well if it's Troy's it's ours now and Just pocketed it and they were like taking his things and saying similar shit Cynthia was saying the same thing well if, if this belongs to Troy, it belongs to us now. Because he owes them money. Where do you hear the amount that is owed here? This is not... Did that bottle of cologne probably cover it? This isn't half a million dollars.
Starting point is 00:23:38 This isn't, you know what I mean? Like, he owes us, he went big on the fucking... He went big on the Browns for the Super Bowl, and now he's He's a half a million in the hole or whatever. It's not one of those things at all. So we'll talk about it so now BB Dwayne a babe BB asks, you know, what the fuck basically and You know, where is my where is Troy club? Where is he? So Cynthia Kindle says don't worry he's not no longer a problem.
Starting point is 00:24:06 And then said, isn't that right, Tori, to Tori Tiegen? And then Tori responded, yes. And Dwayne and Bibi said they were smirking while they said this and making weird eye contact with each other. And then Dwayne and Bibi asked them to leave. Get the fuck out of my house is what she said, probably more accurately.
Starting point is 00:24:24 So they do leave and they drive to someone else's house Whose house? Jamie core uh korean. Jamie korean. It's it's the word korean with a c c o r e a n She is definitely not korean by the way as a white girl as they come This is amazing. This is great. So. The names make it everything. It really helps. Oh, good. So we have Don Beebe's daughter over there.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Now we're going to. Dwayne. Jamie Korean's house. Who's a white woman, Jamie Korean. Okay. Jamie Korea sounds like. Jeff Tywhon's house. It sounds like a made up online name that somebody has.
Starting point is 00:25:07 You know what I mean? Yeah, didn't. Jamie Korea here, gonna tell you about the best recipes. Didn't Michael Vick use Ron Mexico? Something like somebody used that shit, yes. Whatever the fuck it was. I think it was like Benny Tijuana or something, I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:25:23 That's so good. So Jamie Korean's house. Now at Jamie Korean's house is Jamie Korean and her boyfriend Jason kuzik Kusik so the word sick is in his name So this is these people are aptly named now a little bit about Jamie Korean She said she grew up in a good family, had a very up sheltered upbringing. In high school she was studying hard and doing sports and everything like that. She said her mother started to change and her parents marriage broke up so she moved with her father to Belfouche and she
Starting point is 00:25:58 said at that point I was dabbling and drinking, smoking a little pot. At the beginning of my sophomore year, meth came around. The sad part is I liked it. Oh, that is sad, yeah. Yeah, so a lot of these people have the same story, achievers, and then meth came around, and they're like, oh, well, this is great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:17 And a lot of people start things like a speed type thing to be able to keep achieving. That's why they do it. And then once they're too far into it, then that all goes away, and it's all about that. Yeah. She said that she became a professional liar, told her father she had no problems,
Starting point is 00:26:32 didn't drink, didn't smoke, didn't do any of that. She ended up dropping out of school. She had a boyfriend. They began dealing meth together. And she said it worked out well. She said, we bought a house. I was a functioning meth addict. I kept a job, paid my bills. Nobody knew nobody asked
Starting point is 00:26:49 Like those people in that documentary where they're like they go like do roofing all day and then just do smoke meth at night Remember that one. It's an HBO documentary But she ended up getting deep into the whole meth culture because you can't just dabble in the meth culture, especially if you're selling it whole meth culture because you can't just dabble in the meth culture, especially if you're selling it. I'm sure there's somebody out there that disagrees that's done it, but like you're not doing just a little bit then. If you're doing shitloads of meth, you only do shitloads of meth. You can't just do a little bit.
Starting point is 00:27:17 No, because how you are in between all of that is a mess. So you can't be a normal person so now Jason Cusick said that Tori Tegan arrived at the house here on Tuesday morning about 6 to 7 a.m.. So they left Dwayne a BB's house at 9 o'clock, and then they're early I think they've haven't slept. Yeah, you know what I mean they have access to plenty of meth And they have a guy duct taped in their trunk. I don't think they're sleeping much here so I mean they have access to plenty of meth and they have a guy duct taped in their trunk I don't think they're sleeping much here so Tori Teigen drove Kindle's garage Kindle's car into the garage and to Jamie Korean's garage
Starting point is 00:27:53 once inside Tori Teigen opened the trunk and there was clunk a clog in the trunk with again bound with duct tape Cusick said that he couldn't see with, again, bound with duct tape. Cusick said that he couldn't see, that Klug couldn't see, so he had his eyes covered, his arms were duct taped, his legs were duct taped. He said that Tegan pulled him out of the trunk and threw him on the floor, threw Klug on the floor.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Tory Tegan then indicated to everybody that Klug is a rat and a snitch. Okay, same thing but okay. Same thing so then Tory Teagan kicks him in the stomach and Cusick said he could hear Trey Klug moan so he knew he was alive. So he should have kicked him in the tummy too. Yeah in the belly also. Possibly in the midsection, but we're not sure So when kusik went back inside yeah, he told Korean who's inside that Tory Teigen had somebody with him out there Now Korean doesn't say anything. She's just like whatever
Starting point is 00:29:02 Meth makes you not curious apparently about shit going on in your own garage. Is that right? I got math right here Yeah, I don't know what I'm doing there. So, Tory Teigen put Klug in a large toolbox in the garage. Okay. At Korean's house that morning. Lamont Jones's world is shattered when his cousin dies in custody just weeks after entering prison. I don't want anything to do with it. Let me get you already have something to do with it.
Starting point is 00:30:33 No matter whether you leave now or not you are you have a lot to do with this mister. I'm punching in for my shift and recusing myself from this whole thing. I'm done. So Korean Jamie Korean said that after, so she went to work too. Everybody went to work and they just left these strange meth people in their house with a duct tape man in a toolbox.
Starting point is 00:30:53 That's fine. This is not my problem. Not curious. She, after she went to work, she returned to see if Tory Teigen was gone. She saw that he was gone. The car wasn't in the garage anymore, so she locked the garage.
Starting point is 00:31:06 Okay. Okay, now, there's a guy named Eric Haar, H-A-A-R, Haar. Everybody's name is hilarious in this episode. Ridiculous. So, on the way home from work that afternoon, Cusick now, Korean's boyfriend. Cusick and Korean, that sounds like a cop show from the 80s.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Cognizant. Yeah, Cusick and the Korean. He's an all American boy who's been fighting crime since he was 18. She's a recently arrived Korean immigrant. Actually this is the alternate name for Rush Hour. Yeah, maybe it was. Korean immigrant. Actually this is the alternate name for Rush Hour. Maybe it was.
Starting point is 00:31:49 So anyway, Cusick tells Eric Haar that Tory Teigen had left Troy Klug at Korean's house. Cusick asked Haar, hey do me a favor, will you check the toolbox in the garage for me? I don't want to do it. I said I didn't want to get involved So Q6 said that he heard that har opened the toolbox and Q6 was standing by the door and could see somebody in it So Tory Teigen left and just left triclug in this fucking in this toolbox Q6 says when When Jay when Jamie Korean arrived home from work that afternoon? When Jamie Korean arrived home from work that afternoon, he said, quote, I remember us telling her that Tory left this guy and he's still here.
Starting point is 00:32:31 Korean, by the way, no one out of the three people here, none of whom put him in this fucking box or have any beef with this guy, none of them say, hey, we should check on this guy, see if he's okay, and maybe get a medical attention. Nobody suggests that. Everyone just goes, shoulder shrug, leave him in the toolbox, let's go do meth. Yeah. That's literally what happens here, which is,
Starting point is 00:32:56 they just ignore it. Yeah, we didn't hurt anybody, he's just in the toolbox. So it's not our fault. Enter Abby De Jong. Uh-huh. D-E-J-O-N-G, De Jong. Yeah. So it's not our fault Enter Abby de Jong D E J O N G de Jong That is Jamie Korean's best friend Abby de Jong Neither of them are Asian. They both sound Asian. Why is that?
Starting point is 00:33:17 So this is like we said Jamie Korean's best friend She said she arrived at Jamie Korean's house on Tuesday, July 13th So this is the next day because we know at about 6 30 p.m. So They arrived there with Troy about 12 hours earlier And he's been in this toolbox all the time. So Korean told de Jong that Tory Tegin or Tegan had put a person in a box in her garage De Jong said that Jamie Korean also told her that the person was being held against his will. Because most people voluntarily like to stay
Starting point is 00:33:48 in boxes in the garage. That's normal. It's not the weirdest game of hide and seek ever. Where we already know where he is. I think it's a sexual thing. He said he really, it's like he gets off on her or something. I don't know, I don't understand it, but I just let him do it, because what the hell?
Starting point is 00:34:01 You know, me garage, you garage it. You know what I'm saying? It's a much slower form of autoerotic asphyxiation. Yeah, she's real into it. Just no tension on the throat. It's just slowly coming off the air supply. So Dejan tells Jamie Korean, I think we should do something. And Jamie Korean said, no, the cops will get them.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Not our problem, basically. So Dejan Jong the only person here who's got any moral compass at all is attempts to convince Jamie Korean to call the police. She said we got to call the police we got to call the police and she said no no no and then De Jong said I'll call the police then this is crazy and Korean told her no you're not going to So when de Jong told Korean that if de Jong were if I was me in the toolbox Yeah, I would want someone to help me she said and Korean just said now the cops will get them. It's fine
Starting point is 00:35:00 Okay, so later that evening Teagan and Kindle here Returned to Jamie Korean's house. They left a package here. So, De Jong said that when Tegan and Kindle arrived, they had meth with them, and everybody just did meth. All of them. Tegan, Kindle, Haar, De Jong, and Jamie Korean, all doing meth.
Starting point is 00:35:22 I don't know where Cusick is. How we think it's right. Yeah. According to DeJong, she asked Tegan in the presence of everybody, why are you keeping that man in the toolbox? Which is a really reasonable question. Yeah, why do you keep him with your ball peen hammer?
Starting point is 00:35:36 So, with your fucking Allen wrenches? What's going on? Why do you have your torque wrench, man? What's going on? So DeJong testifies later on that Kindle spoke up and said that quote clog it owed them money Yeah, how much money they owe somewhere he owes somewhere between two and three hundred dollars You already took his polo sport man. I think what are we talking about dude? This is not a lot of money I get it's meth and all that kind of thing, but this is crazy like you know the mob would do less to you for 200 grand. This is ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:36:08 So Tegan and Jason Cusick went on a car ride later that evening and when they returned to Jamie Korean's house everybody was still in the living room. Korean, De Jong, Haar and Kindle. Before going to bed that evening Cusick saw Tory Tegan and Jamie Korean talking together in the kitchen Now about 2 to 3 a.m. In this mess here Okay, tell cook is a guy tell T e L L is his first fucking male tell cook goes by chopper Why you've already got a cool nickname. It's Tell. Chopper and the Mad Hatter. Now he got his.
Starting point is 00:36:45 I guess Tell is insinuating that you're a snitch. So now we got Chopper Cook. Needs a much cooler Chopper. Chopper Cook sounds like you're like a World War II army guy or something. That's Chopper Cook right there. Don't mess with him. He has like a patch over his eye,
Starting point is 00:37:02 but he still flies a plane somehow. So Tell Cook also lives in Belfouche, and I guess Tegan and Kindle arrived at his house at 2 a.m. Now, the times on this whole thing are gonna be disputed by a bunch of people who have been doing meth for days. So, take the time with a grain of salt, because we don't know if it's- Who the fuck knows, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:24 Who knows here? The days are going by with meth. So we don't know if this was, we think it's Wednesday night though. So anyway, they said that once they were there, Tegan used some meth, obviously. Then he and Cook now, Chopper Cook, Matt Hatter and the Chopper get in the car and drive Troy Klug out to a gravel road to quote scare him some
Starting point is 00:37:51 Oh my god So I guess Teagan says that during this time tell cook quote punched kicked and hollered at him some The new guy in the picture here tell doesn't owe him money, I don't know what he cares. What's the deal? Then they put him back in the trunk of the car and returned to Tel Cook's house. Is he scared?
Starting point is 00:38:11 Did they scare him some? I think they scared him some, probably. Some, we'll see. So according to Teigen, he and Kindle went to Korean's house sometime between six and seven, and they said that, Kindle said later on that because of the drugs and the fact that she didn't sleep for days that she was not certain of the days and dates and times during this period and that she did not remember dates very well
Starting point is 00:38:36 and that she did not remember Monday and said I don't remember the dates. So she's a mess obviously. So apparently here though Tel Cook said that Te Tegan and Kendall arrived at his house Wednesday morning, not the Tuesday that they had said, that some of the meth-y people have said. Cook was asked, is there anything you can think of or is there any reference as to why it was early Wednesday morning later? And he says, because I was going on vacation. I had Friday off work, so that's a good reference point for the whole thing I had plans to go to Denver to a racetrack and that was just two nights before I was leaving
Starting point is 00:39:11 So we're gonna say it's Wednesday night probably So now cook says he never struck clog. That's just Tori Tegan making shit up So I don't know this fucking guy. I don't have any beef with him Cook said he allowed Tegan and Kindle to stay at his house and then Cook left for work the next morning around five. These people are very comfortable with leaving for work and leaving meth addicts in their house. Yeah, it's amazing how early these people are risers too.
Starting point is 00:39:38 Holy shit. Are they just not slept yet? No, I don't think they've slept yet, no. God damn. They went out, they were in a gravel road in the middle of the night, so I don't think they've slept.. No. God damn. They went out, they were in a gravel road in the middle of the night, so I don't think they've slept. So according to Cook, Teigen took Cook outside to Kindle's vehicle and showed him
Starting point is 00:39:51 that Klug was in the trunk. This was before the road thing. Hands and feet were bound with duct tape. He was laying face down in the trunk. He said that Cook said that Klug was still alive because he heard him moan and saw him reflex when Tory Teigen punched him in the back. He said that everything was bound,
Starting point is 00:40:10 he was face down with his feet in the air, stripped naked except for his boxer shorts. Tori Tiegen punched him in the back and yelled, wake up, motherfucker. And then Troy Klug muffled noises and Tiegen told Cook that he was either going, because because cook said what the fuck you gonna do with this guy? I mean, we got a reservoir dog situation here. Like what are you doing with the guy in the trunk? This is crazy He said well, I'm either gonna go to Denver
Starting point is 00:40:38 to turn clog into his parole agent Which I feel like your parole agent might have some sympathy for you if you're dropped off on his doorstep naked and duct taped probably. He might overlook the meth in your system for the fact that. Trying to get away with meth, I'm bringing a kidnap. Yeah, that's interesting. Or he is going to drive to North Dakota and to dig a hole in Berry Club.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Either one, turn him in or kill him. Now, okay, back to Jamie Corian's house. Kindle and Teagan returned to Jamie Corian's house about 5.30 a.m. They said later that morning, Teagan tells Cusick that Teagan had woke Clug up and that he was leaving. I woke up my hostage and I'm taking off now. Har, the Har guy, H-A-R-R, he said that- H-A-A-R, right?
Starting point is 00:41:29 H-A-A-R, sorry, yeah, H-A-A-R, testified later on that he remembered asking Cusick later, you know what happened, and was Clug okay or what was up, and that Cusick said that Teagan told him that it took a while to get Clug up, but he got him up. So he's not dead So before Teigen left he instructed Cusick to wash the toolbox out So Cusick washed the toolbox at a car wash But he said there was absolutely nothing inside the toolbox to wash and according to Cusick. It looked like it had already been cleaned
Starting point is 00:42:02 So a Wednesday evening Cusick and Korean were at the house with the. So, Wednesday evening, Cusick and Korean were at the house with De Jong and Ha-ar. According to Cusick, Cusick said he wanted to tell the cops, he said, but we had a conversation that none of us would ever talk about it, and we'd never say anything. They swore each other to secrecy. Cusick also remembers hearing Koreans say,
Starting point is 00:42:21 we need an alibi, let's work on an alibi. Well, you already know you're in trouble then, if you have to do that. Fuck yeah, and De Jong, because I mean, they know he left, people know where he went that night, so it's like, they're gonna look for us. There's no way of making an alibi at this point.
Starting point is 00:42:37 No, so then De Jong said that when she talked to Jamie Korean, Korean informed De Jong that Tory Teigen was concerned about whether he could trust De Jong. You might end up in a toolbox too. So according to De Jong, Korean reassured Tory not to worry about De Jong and that Korean would quote, take care of it. So I'll make sure she doesn't say anything. Now that Wednesday is when he's reported missing. Dwayne Abibi and Troy's mother Joyce filed a missing persons report. Oh. Well like yeah, officially.
Starting point is 00:43:06 So Wednesday night at about midnight, Dwayne Abibi had a friend staying with her to help her with the surgery stuff, so she needed somebody there. Just after midnight, Kindle and Tori Teigen show up at her home again. Really? She's already called the cops,
Starting point is 00:43:25 filed a missing person report, and included them in the whole story. So they entered through her living room window and came running up the stairs. They didn't knock on the door and she let them in. They broke into her fucking house and now they're charging up the stairs. Kindle went into Bibi's room and kept asking Bibi,
Starting point is 00:43:44 what's wrong with you? What's wrong with you? Why are you in bed? Why aren't you moving around? And she said that she's recuperating from a fucking operation. That's why. So her incision had become infected, BB said. So BB's friend asked them what happened to Klug? That's the other person there. And Kindle responded, I don't know where he is Then she said to dwayne to dwayne a bb honey. I need you to come with me I gotta go away for a while and I need you to go with me You think she's coming back? No, I don't know they're covering her tracks. Yeah
Starting point is 00:44:19 Baby said no Fuck that. So apparently uh kindle here said oh honey, no, it's okay. Don't worry about it. Just come on, get up. I need you to come with me. Honey, I'm going to go to a cabin for a little while. I need you to come with me. Well, if anything happens or you get in any worse shape or anything, you know, it's okay. We'll take care of you. So then BB said at some point of this going back and forth, finally Tegan said, we don't have time for this. We got to go.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Just leave her. She's not worth it. We got to go. So yeah, then during this back and forth, Bibi said that she filed a missing persons report and she can't go because she's probably on 24-hour surveillance at this point. Oh Which isn't true at all, but you don't want to kidnap a person who is one of the available Yeah, and meth people hear that and they're like, oh god. Yeah. Oh, she's being watched. Everybody's watching me You know, they're paranoid anyway, so now Thursday July 15th. This started three days ago. Yeah
Starting point is 00:45:23 Tegan and Kindle show up again at cook's house Tell cook's house old shoppers house cook asked Tegan. What do you done with the man in the trunk? Tegan replied that he put him in a toolbox and left him there all day cook asked if he gave him water because it was hot Reasonable question Tegan replied no and it's too late for all that anyway. It's too late for water? For water. So Cook recalled that Tegan said that he had gone to the toolbox a few times throughout the day and was beating the man. He said that Tegan tells Cook that he felt bones crush in Troy's face and he thought that's what did him in. Then that day, Tegan and Kindle took off and said they were going to Montana with Troy in the trunk, by the way.
Starting point is 00:46:13 Kindle indicated at that time that Troy was finally dead and still in the trunk of the car. So July 17th, 2004, 4 a.m. Kindle and Tegan arrive in North Dakota at a guy named Ross Thomas' house. Someone named Jamie Keefe saw both of them there at 9.30 p.m. and said that Troy Tegan was cutting fringes on a blanket and Kindle was doing laundry.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Tegan asked Kindle if she was doing laundry in cold water, which she responded, yes, I washed it in cold water. You know, you don't want shrinking. When you're running from a murder, you don't want to shrink your jeans. That's tough. Also, that implies there are stains on this. Exactly. That's the other thing.
Starting point is 00:46:56 So July 18, 2004. Kindle and Teigen are still at North Dakota there, at that Guy Thomas' house. The Keefe person helped them clean out Kindle and Tegan are still at North Dakota there, at that guy Thomas's house. The Keith person helped them clean out Kindle's car. According to Keith, the inside of the car was stripped down to the metal frame. No one can take a car apart like a fucking meth addict, first of all, nobody. Fascinating detail, man.
Starting point is 00:47:21 They will have every fucking bolt and screw off of that goddamn thing. It'll be just a bare frame they're good at that are not that no no no they're not enough she said that bleach had been poured in maggots were floating on a solid layer on the bleach what Tegan told her he poured about three gallons of bleach in the car and that the maggots were from a milk spill. Some spoiled milk was back there. Keefe helped Tegan by scrubbing and using a shot vac to suck up the bleach.
Starting point is 00:47:55 The rags they used to clean the car were taken to a fire and burned. According to Keefe, at some point, Kindle yelled at Tory Tegan that the car should have been cleaned 5 fucking days ago. Keefe recalled that Tory attempted to clean the car's upholstery with Febreze and Woolite. They also scrubbed the floorboards, which had a quote, rust-colored stain on them. I wonder what that is. Now, an investigation is going on into where the hell is Troy. There's a guy named Brett Gromer,
Starting point is 00:48:25 who is a special agent for South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, and it's his job to look for fucking Troy. And at the time, Tegan had been identified as a suspect based on an interview that they did with Duane Abibi. So they go on July 20, 2004 2004 him and two other officers interview tell cook Cook told them of seeing Troy our Tory Teigen and Kindle at his house But repeatedly denied seeing anyone in a car trunk. I don't know what you're talking about
Starting point is 00:48:55 I don't know what you're talking about. He did how it may admit however that Tory Teigen mentioned going back to Rapid City and snatch in some guy and well You never know I might have already done it could be in the trunk outside that's what he said cook recalled that the name Troy was mentioned I didn't know he was in the trunk but he told me a guy named Troy was in the trunk is what they said exactly that you know the cop said I don't think exactly that Troy. You know, the cop said, I don't think you're telling us everything. Right. And basically we'll talk about it, but made some comments that are to try to motivate
Starting point is 00:49:32 him to say more. July 22nd, Cook is interviewed again by two different cops this time. He told them that Troy Clugg was over at Kindle's house and Tegan was using Clugg to move things in the basement and that they had hit him and duct taped him. So they arrest Cook, old Chopper Cook here. He's placed in the county jail. July 22nd, that same day that they interview, that they arrest Cook or they interviewed Cook, they arrest Tegan.
Starting point is 00:50:02 So they go and they get him in North Dakota. He's charged with kidnapping club because they don't know anything else. They just know he's been kidnapped most likely. So that's what they charge him with. He's indicted on one count of kidnapping, one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, placed in the county jail, the Pennington County jail
Starting point is 00:50:19 in a cell adjacent to Tell Cook's. Old chopper. So we got the Mad Hatter and the Chopper reunited here. When they were there, Cook, they contacted each other through kites, jail notes. Yeah, sure. That's what they're doing. So, you know, the porter or somebody will deliver it and that's how it works. So Chopper Cook had written that Tegan, they wrote Tegan, Tegan wrote back.
Starting point is 00:50:44 They used the, Tegan always used the name Chopper when referring to Cook. And Cook always said, used Mad Hatter when referring to him. So... Cook ended up telling his lawyer about the notes he got and said it contained incriminating information about Teagan.
Starting point is 00:53:28 So, get me a deal. And that's what he gets. September 30th, 2004. Tell Cook takes a deal. Oh! He takes a plea deal. He decided to tell everything he knew and a plea agreement is reached. He told the officers of seeing Clug in the trunk recounting the statements of Tegan and Kindle
Starting point is 00:53:46 and turned over some of the jail notes that were written as well. Oh. Made a plea agreement here, there. By the way, they arrested Kindle too and they were gonna try them together, but the court grants a motion to sever their trials, Tegan and Kindle.
Starting point is 00:54:03 So Tegan wants to challenge basically Kindle's out of court statements. Kindle is not gonna be available to testify because she has found incompetent to stand trial. And is kinda putting a place, yeah. So anyway, they rule that some of the statements will be admissible and some of them won't be, that's fine. Kindle, like we said, ruled incompetent for trial.
Starting point is 00:54:26 Back to Tegan, okay. In the notes, Tegan said, here's one of them, quote, oh yeah, even if they do find some so-called physical evidence, where the hell are they gonna get DNA to compare it to? You don't know very much, stupid, his family. A fucking hair and his brush at home, lots of places. And believe me, they ain't gonna find no body unless someone else planted somebody.
Starting point is 00:54:50 Why? It's ridiculous. It may have taken me a while to decide what to do, but once I figured it out, it was the best plan and I executed it with grinding precision. Don't worry about them finding a body. Okay. Then in another note he said yeah you know that was one of the nastiest things I've ever done one of the nastiest if a guy is gonna make fish food he just as well put the put he just
Starting point is 00:55:15 as well put it in bite-sized pieces right what the hell it wasn't my first rodeo and I'm sure it won't be my last if I stay in the business I'm in so I've killed before is what he's saying No, that might be a lot of you know, I'm no body No, I was getting to that because somebody actually said that in the shit. Yeah a lawyer. Oh they do. Yes It's coming up. Yeah, it's nobody no crime. Yeah, Bob Marley sings it so Anyway, these notes are gonna be allowed
Starting point is 00:55:46 into the whole thing. Cook was concerned that he may be implicated in the crime, and the reason he did this, that he cooperated, is basically he asked the cop if you could make this all go away for me, can you help me here? So the cop said he couldn't make any promises, but I can talk to the prosecutor,
Starting point is 00:56:03 but he told them if you wanna make yourself liked by these people, to pound the pavement and do every goddamn thing you could to get me info on these two idiots over there. So yeah, they said he's not an informant. The cop replied in court that he's not necessarily to be an informant, but to help us gather intelligence type of thing, which be an informant, but to help us gather intelligence Type of thing which is an informant
Starting point is 00:56:27 Anyway, so yeah, they end up letting all of that stuff in He said that they also said that There was a joking reference that they talked about about the adjacent cells And the cop made a comment about using every trick in the book and cook remarked that he was playing cop. So there's also stuff like that, which you can't do that. So the, the agent Gromer also said that he did not direct anyone at the jail to place the Teagan and cook and adjacent cells. He said that was just dumb luck. And he said, I didn't tell him to elicit information from the defendant. I just told him if he wants to get off on this, he'll get all the information again. Yeah. But technically I didn't tell him to elicit information from the defendant. I just told him if he wants to get off on this, he'll get all the information he can.
Starting point is 00:57:06 Yeah, he won't help. But technically I didn't tell him to get that information. I didn't say it, just insinuated it. Now Cook said that no one asked him to solicit incriminating responses from the defendant, and he never considered himself to be an informant, even though he was exchanging information for, you know. Informing.
Starting point is 00:57:25 For, yeah. Yeah. He said that after his arraignment, which was held along with Kindles and Teegans, he felt the impact of the crime when he saw one of Klug's family members crying in court, and then he suggested his cooperation to his attorney. Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:39 That's what happened. Now, Kindle's statements here, some of the statements that were allowed in were, Kindle just laughed and was real jovial about it and calling Klug a pussy and that he was weak. That's another note. I guess he said in a note that Kindle thought Klug was weak and she was really hung up about her money.
Starting point is 00:58:01 She's cold, man. Jesus Christ. So they said that also, they said that Teigen and Kendall started talking about going to a guy in Rapid City that they knew that it owed him money, and that this kid owed him money, and that's this kid, obviously. Now, Teigen argues that none of this shit should be allowed in, these jail notes.
Starting point is 00:58:22 Okay. He says, number one, the statement while made when the conspiracy was continuing was not made to enlist someone to join the conspiracy, to advance the aims of the conspiracy, to allay suspicion or as a narrative statement by one conspirator to another about what each had done, which seems like it's exactly what that was.
Starting point is 00:58:40 Exactly. I'll take number four on that one all day. That's exactly what that was I don't know the trying to muddy with I don't know. So July 2005 Tegan goes to trial for kidnapping Cuz they don't know where Troy is at all. You know, it's nobody no crime at this point. So Kindle does not testify it is trial because she's still in the loony bin there many of her statements previously determined by the court to be admissible
Starting point is 00:59:08 were admitted, and also the jail notes were admitted as well. So Chopper testifies, testifies about the maggots, testifies about the car should have been cleaned five days ago, all that kind of shit. Says that he was home sleeping when Tegan and Kindle woke him up early Wednesday morning and offered to sell him meth.
Starting point is 00:59:28 You ever get woken up and someone's like, you want some meth? No? I want the opposite of that, I'm sleeping. This is the worst cold call ever. Wow, hey, hey dude, you wanna buy some meth? Holy shit. At least my phone says scam likely.
Starting point is 00:59:43 Yeah, this is. Son of a bitch. They broke in through your front window and are standing over your bed asking if you want some meth here. So, Cook testified about saying that you should give him water because he said at one point that he had checked on him during the day.
Starting point is 00:59:58 Tegan had checked on clogging the toolbox and Cook asked him why to give him water and he said no, to beat on him. That's what Teagan replied with. To hit him some more, yeah. Yeah and then he told about the feeling bones crush in his face and thinks that's what did him in and all that kind of shit.
Starting point is 01:00:13 So all this evidence is that Troy was dead but they don't have evidence of a body and they don't have evidence to charge him for that so it's still kidnapping and the verdict comes in guilty of kidnapping obviously. I mean come on on the sentencing comes around and they're gonna bang him extra hard on sentencing because they know we killed this fucking kid they just can't do it so they're gonna give him that you sir may fuck off 100 years in prison with no body nobody hundred Yeah, that's a good one. That's pretty good. Now, Kindle is going to plead guilty,
Starting point is 01:00:47 but mentally ill to kidnapping. Okay. That is a negotiated plea right there. Yeah. So, during sentencing here, Cynthia Kindle, I guess is there, you know, trying to do this. They're trying to mitigate, and she talks at length about her history of mental problems including being bipolar, having PTSD and anxiety disorder.
Starting point is 01:01:11 She said after her marriage ended in the mid 1990s, her life just fell apart. Her parents lost track of her for years. She moved to Washington and began using meth and after she was assaulted in 1999, she returned to South Dakota where she saw various doctors for her mental illnesses and drug treatment. So a lot of excuses. Be nice to her is what they're saying. Now Troy's mom testifies and she doesn't have the same fucking thought. I can't imagine she's gonna be, yeah. She said I have been tormented and grieved beyond Beyond comprehension. I will never excuse your so-called mental illness as part of this Yeah, she said that you you know
Starting point is 01:01:57 You're you have children too and you're being taken away from them But it's not as traumatic as the way that my kid was taken from me. She said Kindle has shown little remorse She said you Kindle has shown little remorse. She said, you think only of you. She said, sure. You cooperated and everything, but my son's body still hasn't been found. She said, I want my son's remains to lay beside his father in a proper burial. She said she finds it hard to forgive Kindle for not telling anyone when Tory Teigen bound her son and put him in the trunk of a car. The prosecutor said that, this is a good line here, characterized the crime as one where quote, drugs, childlike self-absorbance, and evil mixed together.
Starting point is 01:02:33 Oh my. Meth narcissism and pure evil is all that is. So now they agree to a cap on her sentence though because of the mental illness and all that kind of shit. Now Kindle says, she says, I'm remorseful for what's happened to my friend. He was my friend. I ask that I be forgiven
Starting point is 01:02:54 and that I can learn from this mistake in my life. I'm remorseful and I'm very sorry. I pray you forgive me. I understand how hard it is to lose your children. I'm sorry. And they say, you, ma'am, may fuck off 20 years in prison. That's better than 100, yeah. That's better than 100, but not nearly as much. The whole thing stemmed from he owes me money.
Starting point is 01:03:16 She deserves way worse. Her and Tori should have the same sentence, because they're the ones who did this together and started. Whoever did the details of whatever doesn't matter. It's the same sentence. So, wow. Yeah, 20 years and $2,738.34 in restitution, $27,000 in attorney's fees and court costs,
Starting point is 01:03:35 and recommended that Kendall receive counseling, medical manage, medication management, and chemical dependency treatment while in prison. She said that she, so yeah, and she in return said that she had already began following a 12 step program. Oh, that's good. She could be eligible for parole as early as 2014.
Starting point is 01:03:57 Jamie Cusick is also gonna plead guilty to accessory to murder and perjury and is sentenced to, you sir, may fuck off. He just wanted to go to work, remember this guy?ury, and is sentenced to, you sir, may fuck off. He just wanted to go to work, remember this guy? 20 years in prison. Okay. I mean, yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:12 Under the plea agreement, he agreed to take a polygraph test and to testify truthfully if called upon in future trials or court proceedings. He'll remain free on bond, pending a sentencing hearing, faces up to five years in prison, and on one thing, and then five years in prison on one thing,
Starting point is 01:04:26 and then 10 years in prison on something else, and then a previous drug conviction increases the penalty, that's why he got 20 years. Jamie Korean trial. Okay, now, Teigen was subpoenaed to testify at this trial, but took the fifth. Really? Yeah, he didn't this trial but took the fifth. Really?
Starting point is 01:04:46 Yeah, he didn't testify, he took the fifth. Now, for some reason the time and date dispute on when they were, where becomes a big deal on this trial. I don't know why. So they said the jury was required to resolve the factual dispute. From Cook's testimony, the jury could have found that Klug was still alive Wednesday morning.
Starting point is 01:05:06 Even if Teagan and Kindle were at Cook's house sometime Tuesday morning, there's no dispute that Teagan went to Korean's house on Tuesday morning, and there's substantial evidence that Korean acquired knowledge on Tuesday that Klug was alive and being held against his will. They let everything in. The verdict comes in here.
Starting point is 01:05:22 She is found guilty of accessory, accessory to murder now. They found her guilty of. Oh, not even after the fact. No, they don't have a body and they actually have a murder charge now. They tried it. Yeah, and also aiding and abetting kidnapping.
Starting point is 01:05:38 Okay. She is sentenced to, you ma'am may fuck off life without parole. Holy shit. Yeah, that is how life without life without Korean got life without, but Kindle only got 20 years. I don't understand that. That is going on. Um, nobody, no crime. My ass. That's something. That's a lot of crime. That's a lot of crime. Uh's a lot of crime. Chopper Cook now, Tel Cook,
Starting point is 01:06:05 he pleads guilty to a misdemeanor charge of misprision, which is failure to report of a felony in exchange for prosecutors dropping the kidnapping charge. He got the lightest of everything because he was the first to cooperate and like help him. Oh, that's the answer. He testified for the state at Teegans trial. He was given, you sir may fuck off, two years probation. What? 500 hours of community service and a thousand dollar fine. What? Wait, criminal speeding?
Starting point is 01:06:40 If he just had meth on him, he would have got more than that. If he ran from the cops for anything, he gets worse than that. That's crazy. So 2008, they're gonna try Teagan for murder now. They got him for kidnapping, now they're gonna try him again for murder.
Starting point is 01:06:55 They have everybody as testify, basically willing to testify against him now to make deals for themselves, so he ends up pleading guilty. And part of the guilty plea is to lead authorities to Troy's body as well. They will not accept the plea without that in there. So during sentencing here,
Starting point is 01:07:14 Teagan's parents tried to defend him. Fucking wow. I wouldn't defend, I'd be like, my son's a monster. I don't know what happened. It wasn't my fault. He's a moron. He's a moron and a monster. He said, quote, Troy, this is the, I don't know what happened. It wasn't my fault. He's a moron. He's a moron and a monster. He said quote, Troy, this is the,
Starting point is 01:07:27 I don't know if this is the mother or father, but Tori is an intelligent, hardworking man. And the Teegans are a strong, close family. He was brought up in a Christian home, taught to know kindness and caring to others. But she said as an adult, she said Tori was different. She said, we don't like the choices He's made recently, but I love him unconditionally and I'll always be here for him
Starting point is 01:07:49 Troy Clugs mom had a great speech here. Yeah, cuz this is the guy who did everything So she gets to unload finally on this guy and she this is Joyce Clug Said God, please forgive me for some of the things. I'm going to be saying today. That's how she started her Oh, I'm about to roast my own son. I'm about no no no this is Teagan this Talking about Teagan. This is the dead guy's mom talking about the guy who were roast Teagan Roger roast Teagan at a sentencing yeah, okay. She said She said that Teagan is a cold calculating animal monster Yeah She said that Tegan is a cold calculating animal monster.
Starting point is 01:08:26 Yeah. Those are two different things. Great. Both. Clug refers to letters that Tegan wrote in which he described making fish food and executing his plan with grinding perfection. She said, nobody can imagine what this has done to me as Troy's mother.
Starting point is 01:08:43 The grinding bothers me, she said. She said that I know you've suffered medical problems and you've had counseling and all that kind of shit, but I can't bury my son beside my father, which is tragically devastating. She said, I wonder if you know that you've got a twin brother running around and it's Satan. I thought she was roasting his family talking about your mom. When I first read this, I was like was like oh she's going into the family.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Nope your brother is Satan! She shouted. I'm not supposed to expose all your family secrets. Brothers got horns. So she then said Teagan deserved more than the maximum sentence of life in prison but would be held to answer to a higher power. She said God forgive me, damn you, you cowardly monster. I hope you fry in hell with your twin brother.
Starting point is 01:09:29 Say, my final statement is, tell us where Troy is. Great answer, yeah. Teagan says, I'd just like to say that I'm sorry to Joyce and Troy's family and my own family. I don't know what else to say. There's no excuse though I'll be completely honest from here forward. That's all Where is he? They said well you sir may fuck off life without parole for you tack that on your hundred years There you go. Then in May 2009 at the Sheep Mountain Range in Eastern, Montana
Starting point is 01:10:04 In 2009, at the Sheep Mountain Range in eastern Montana, South Dakota state investigators along with Tori in the area here found what they believe were the skeletal remains of Troy. This is four years later here. They said, we're quite certain that Troy has been found. It brings closure to a five year investigation of this horrific crime. They said that they've been found. It brings closure to a five-year investigation of this horrific crime. They said that they'd been over,
Starting point is 01:10:27 search teams had previously been over the general area, but didn't find him. They said that Teigen was able to narrow the search though, and the investigators eventually spotted a depression in the ground, and that turned out to be the grave. They described the site as being in a remote rugged treacherous country They needed to hurry to tell them where it was or they wouldn't have found it they uncovered
Starting point is 01:10:52 Boxer shorts a belt shoes and a wallet consistent with the descriptions of Clugs possessions and what he was last seen wearing They also found duct tape barn lie and alkaline cleaner on him And in the area the forensic lab at the site were able to identify him conclusively through DNA as well. Troy's mom, Joyce, said that it was a long day and she knew that they were looking in Montana and they knew that they found her son and she said, we've been waiting five years for this and it's a real relief but it still just doesn't seem real and she said she planned to hold a memorial service for her son soon as well.
Starting point is 01:11:31 Tegan did some appealing. Really? Which is crazy, yeah. He did some appealing saying that his right to a speedy trial was violated because the trial didn't come until about a year after he was put in. Oh, that's a lot faster than that, huh? If he didn't fight for a speedy trial, though, then you have to put in for a speedy trial, I think.
Starting point is 01:11:49 So his Sixth Amendment right to counsel was violated when law enforcement used Cook to elicit information from him in prison. The court erred when it admitted a co-conspirator's statements of Kindle, remember all those Kindle statements. The court erred in finding that a conspiracy existed between Kindle was found incompetent to stand trial and one cannot have a conspiracy with someone that is incompetent, legally I guess.
Starting point is 01:12:12 He was also denied the right to cross-examine Kindle, they just allowed her at a court's statements to come in, so there's no cross-examination, and the court erred when it grossly imposed a grossly disproportionate sentence by considering facts that are not part of the kidnapping charge. He said it's grossly disproportionate to the crime of kidnapping the hundred years. He's not, he's not doing the murder one. He said,
Starting point is 01:12:34 according to the defendant, the court expressed that the defendant likely killed Klug and destroyed the body and that the court went beyond the scope permitted in sentencing for a kidnapping conviction. But by the time he's doing this, the body has been found. He is dead. So it doesn't matter. The judge was right. He might have made a guess at the time, but now he's right.
Starting point is 01:12:52 He assumed, but hey, give him a gold star. He won. Yeah, what the fuck, man? They said that a court is permitted to consider uncharged conduct when acquainting itself with the character of the defendant for sentencing. That's in the law, so tough shit. The decision said here that they said,
Starting point is 01:13:11 in your statement to the court, you told the court, yes, I should take responsibility. You told the court you used methamphetamine. Beyond that, you did not take responsibility for the crime. Now the court considers as perhaps one of the reasons is the fact that further criminal charges for murder or manslaughter could be brought against you. The court considers that this is a possible explanation.
Starting point is 01:13:30 Nevertheless, your decision not to accept responsibility, not to disclose the location of the body is a factor that can and is considered, can be and is considered by this court. Your conduct thus far indicates to the court that your plan for rehabilitation is to persist in your denial, bully others while in prison, and keep secret the location of Troy's body,
Starting point is 01:13:50 because this was before he put it out. The jury found that you kidnapped Troy Klug. The legislature imposed widespread discretion for trial courts and sentencing, and you can keep on fucking off, mister. Get out of here. 2010, the Korean appeal Jamie Korean she appeals Here and sure conviction is upheld and in 2017
Starting point is 01:14:12 There's a big fluff piece on Jamie Korean real newspaper here saying that Jamie Korean is part of a she joined a program Against meth program. There's a program that some guy started called FAM First, FAM First, Fathers Against Meth. Oh. Somehow they went to the women's prison and they ended up getting Korean in there and everything like that. So Korean said, that's why I'm here.
Starting point is 01:14:38 I sold drugs. I never thought it would affect how other people, I never thought how it would affect other people. It's sad, lives have been lost, I get to see my son. Others involved with this don't have that choice anymore. She says, nobody ever offered me treatment and I never asked for help. Don't let the drugs take you down.
