Listen, everybody needs a fairy godmother, you know, someone to look out for them.
Some people call me their internet big sister, others their fairy smoke mother.
You can call me Hannah, the new host of Smoke Sash.
So come hang out, let's light up and talk everything there is to life.
Some good, the bad, the ugly, the embarrassing.
I've got a story for it all.
Anyways, hello, my name's Hannah.
If you don't know who I am, it is wonderful to meet you.
if you do know who i am it is wonderful to have you back um i'd like to consider myself like a
carrie bradshaw type but if you replaced all of those god-awful cigarettes you chain smokes
throughout the seasons with joints um that would be me i document my life the same way on the
internet just instead of in blogs i do it in videos on tiktok and on my instagram and it's kind of
a hobby that turned into a passion that's kind of spiraled my life in a wonderful direction
um I'm a 22 year 22 year old girl from Kansas City um I know that's shocking a lot of people
are like I thought you'd be from New York or like LA or somewhere fancier and although
uh that would be amazing I just simply cannot justify spending three times my rent um to live
in another city so Kansas City is where I have been born and raised and I'm just a little blonde
midwestern girly trying to make the most of my life as i feel like a lot of us are i'm here to
be your internet big sister to make things feel a little bit less lonely life can feel overwhelming
and confusing at times trust me i know that but if i can get through it you can get through it
and we'll do it together here welcome to smoke sash with hannah this first um episode we're gonna
to do some Q&A style questions you guys sent me all sorts of questions you guys have for me about
life life advice on Instagram my Instagram is Hannah Marlene if you guys are interested or you
have anything that's been itching your brain that you want to ask me I sometimes reply or I'll use
it in my podcast and in the future my episodes will be longer topic based so if you have anything
you want to hear from me about let me know I literally love hearing from you guys it makes my
day okay since the podcast is titled smoke slash we do have to kick off this first ever episode
with a weed related question okay one of my besties asked me do i have an edible story
parentheses i know we all have one and trust me i have so many so many edible stories but my
favorite one and i've if you guys are a long time follower you might have heard this but
this just really details the potency and power of edibles and never to underestimate them because
one day okay so in college this is a while ago okay it's not incriminating in college
um me and my first ever boyfriend my poor little 18 year old self got convinced to
start you know a small little brownie business um we were just selling homemade baked goods you
know what i mean the goods the goods and i was ripping off these poor catholic girls that went
to school with me and the catholic boys they're all dumb um sorry no offense if you did go to
school with me love you thank you for the business but they just had never been exposed to prices
so i would be like okay forty dollars a brownie and they'd be like hell yeah here's forty dollars
anyways we made some shmoney some shmoney off these people and we would just invest that money
back into making brownies so essentially we had all these brownies just everywhere all the time
like for no reason I don't know why I was doing this maybe to get a rush a thrill perhaps but it
was a poor choice looking back I had a fresh baked pan of brownies laying out and I had just had a
rough day I think my grandma died or something like something rough and I was like me and this
pan of brownies are just eyeing each other a little too hard I'm gonna just eat half the pan
bitch half the pan I don't know what I was thinking my tolerance was so much lower than
it is now so I can't even imagine what's going through my head I ate half the pan though finished
it and then I was like you know what actually I might eat more and I think I ate half of the
other half so to put this into perspective that is roughly eight brownies and I was telling people
to eat a fourth a fourth of a brownie so I don't I don't even know the conversion you can do it I
can't do mental math right now but it was a lot period point blank so anyways I eat these brownies
I'm having a good time all of a sudden I feel like the room is spinning I feel like I am a tiny
little ant sitting in a laundry machine and it's spinning around me the room is spinning around me
and I was like when I get in these situations where I'm just like I am too gone I don't know
where I am in outer space or time continuum continuum oh my god that was embarrassing
but i need to get down from whatever level i've climbed up to so what i'll do is i'll go to bed
if you ever get there no matter what your friends say like eat this cracked pepper or drink this
water like sure that helps go to bed if you can just curl up grab a little hoodie and go to bed
that is always my goal so i am like stumbling to the bed because the room around me is spinning
in circles and i am stumbling and here's the thing i wear contacts so before i ever go to bed
because i woke up one day and had like a giant sty from sleeping in my contacts i have always
taken my contacts out maybe not so much recently but in the past i was very good about you know
taking my contacts out before i go to bed so i vividly remember stumbling through my ex-boyfriend's
little trailer like grabbing onto the bathroom sink with everything i had holding onto it to
keep myself upright using every last bit of like willpower i had to take my contacts out put them
back in the case painstakingly screw on the case tight enough that just in case it happened to fall
like none of the liquid would spill out and then i hit that bed and fell the fuck asleep
just completely knocked out like my body needed to go to bed anyways I wake up in the morning
I am like oh my god that was fucking crazy that was never again like I cannot do that again I get
up I'm like stretching like holy shit I go to the counter to put my contacts in and the contacts
are not in the case they're not there i am literally like what the fuck like what was
that last night like where are my contacts who fucked this up because i didn't fuck this up
like i did everything right i go to like look around on the ground i can't find them anywhere
i had been laying in bed that whole time the whole time i thought i was standing at the sink
painstakingly removing my contacts and putting it in that tiny little contact case i was pulling
them out of my eyes and setting them on the pillow next to me literally i thought i was standing up
at a whole ass sink and i was laying in bed that is how gone i was anyways that's my favorite edible
story because i have never ingested that much and it was a rough time i do not recommend can i put
this on the internet i don't know but we're here already so let's we're gonna find out okay i get
this question a lot because I feel like somebody is constantly going through it or experiencing it
at some point in time literally I get this question at least once a day but it's how did you get
through heartbreak or how to get over a guy or how to de-attach from something that is no longer
serving you and to that I have a quick little run through I will give you on how to get through
the intense emotions of heartbreak but I want to do a longer relationship episode later on
um because I think they're so interesting and the intricacies that go into dating and relationships
and heartbreak and I know you guys have a ton of questions because it's so confusing
and it's really difficult at times so I will do a full rundown later but for now
I'm gonna give you guys a few tips so when the initial strike hits you really do just have to
delete everything okay i don't care if it's the best moment of your entire life you just can't
allow yourself to be reminded in any sort of way okay so you're gonna delete all those pictures
snapchat history everything all the text messages then you're gonna move on to blocking because if
you can't see them on your phone you're gonna possibly want to reach out which is not okay
come on come on we're better than that okay we're not reaching out and you don't want to be reminded
by them existing in general so you should block them so they can't reach out to you okay there
should be no communication when you lose somebody there should not be like and i feel like some
people can work it out where they're like we're friends but i tried that shit that shit doesn't
work if you're not if you're not rolling with me and we're not rocking together then you're out of
my life i'm sorry you lose you lose contact privilege okay um so block them period point
blake do it next step if you can't be physically reminded by them your brain is gonna be the only
thing that's gonna remind you of them in the good times so your next step is gonna be in your anger
take all of it and just write a very long angry cons list or very long angry note of everything
that just went wrong everything that made you upset all the bads that went into this relationship
so when you are having a momentary lapse of judgment and you're like oh but I miss them
you can go back and read this and realize you're being dumb okay you need to be able to remind
yourself in times that you are weak that also includes reminding yourself that you are a good
loving gentle human being okay so you're gonna get some sticky notes you're gonna get some um
note cards you're gonna get giant pieces of paper i don't care fucking lipstick on a mirror
write down words of affirmation i am beautiful i am kind i am loving i am caring i'm wonderful
all of that write it down where you're going to wake up and where you're going to fall asleep
okay you need to be reminded by this all the time because I understand how hard it is to remind
yourself of that when you're feeling low and it can feel like that is just the absolute not truth
if it's around you and you're constantly seeing it you have no way of not believing it put it up
remind yourself even when you're sad or down or feeling low next step and kind of the final step
is be selfish pick yourself you just spent 50% of your time picking another person and 50% of
the time picking yourself now you can spend a hundred percent of the time constantly only
picking yourself and that's what you're gonna do you're only gonna put yourself in situations that
you want to be in you're only gonna do things that you want to do and that includes the little
things such as what you want to drink to the big things such as like life decisions you're no longer
going to be making decisions for other people or worried about what they're going to think of you
you're going to try new things that you maybe never would have tried unless you listened to
yourself and what you truly wanted to do okay you'd be surprised how well things work out for
you and if you do all of this all of a sudden i guarantee you will feel better and you'll feel
hopeful you'll feel excited for what the rest of the world has to offer for you because i guarantee
the world has more to offer than you than some person who broke your heart okay you will be so
much better the world and the universe removes things and replaces them replaces them with
things 10 times better trust that everything is aligned and working out in your favor i love you
next question okay people are also asking me for just like general life advice that i've made every
wrong decision in my 22 years of living so i know exactly what to and what not to do um a few things
that come to mind though let's see general life advice okay don't ever eat gas station or grocery
store sushi um unless you live near fresh water then that's understandable but i know it looks
good under that fluorescent lighting but it will give you the worst illness you quite literally
have ever faced um okay also never eat random pills off the floor they're never what you think
they're gonna be and you probably will black out for like eight hours also don't ever accept
drinks from strangers that's just that is just general important advice i don't know why i
never took that growing up uh but that's important let's see always leave the house looking as if
you're gonna die outside of the house i always assume something bad's gonna happen to me and
if somebody finds my torn beaten body on the side of the road i at least want it to be looking good
and maybe in some like leather thigh high boots i don't know um always take the chance always take
the risk i know it's a risk and it's scary but every risk i've ever taken has always turned out
well um if you have a road trip in mind take it best trip of my life was with um my friend and
we just randomly up and left to las vegas to go see our favorite band for like a week and i had
no money at the time but still made it work and honestly the best time of my life so fun don't
get into a relationship until you're in your 20s um men are not worth it quite literally it's just
it's not worth the pain and the suffering you're gonna go through i know everybody else is in
relationships but they're probably not good so just like focus on yourself that's like my biggest
piece of advice if you're a young person just focus on yourself okay be a little selfish grow
yourself before you start focusing focusing on other people i promise it will work out way better
also always smoke good weed i don't care top shelf every time i'll pay it i don't i don't care
so somebody asked me if i was into spirituality and if you don't know me um hi again my name's
hannah i'm very much so into spirituality but i'm very much so like into the side of spirituality
that has to do with your feelings your emotions and how you view the world okay so I'm not here
practicing like witchcraft and rituals although sometimes I do I don't know it depends on how
I'm feeling about the day but to be honest I'm quite lazy so a lot of my spirituality work has
to do with like journaling manifestation mindfulness all that stuff gratitude because
I've realized it has a really positive effect on my mental health I was raised Methodist and I was
very Christian up until like middle school and then I developed um depression freshman year of
high school and then as I was questioning the world around me I started questioning my faith
and that kind of led into spirituality me and my parents didn't really have any big tiffs or
they weren't really upset that I didn't believe in God anymore um we didn't really have a
conversation about it quite honestly i was just like i don't want to go to church and they were
like okay cool um but yeah i guess what i'm trying to say is if you believe in yourself the universe
will believe in you and it will give back to you tenfold and i genuinely believe that because
relating back to the girl's question um if i've had any big epiphany moments in spirituality or
in life i have i've had so many i have one once a month but i had one huge one because i feel like
especially with religion and spirituality we all kind of question it at some point in our lives
and are like what is this is this true and that's just a part of being conscious human beings you
have to question the things around you um if you want to learn and do better as a human that's just
a normal part of like behaving you need to question your surroundings around you or else
you're gonna be blindly led and so I was in a state what was it like a year and a half ago
me and my now boyfriend took a trip to Colorado and I was kind of in this state where I was like
I don't know what to do with my life I'm so confused I feel lost I feel torn in many directions
do I go this path that people want for me that people see me going down that people are hoping
that I'll choose or do I choose this other path that feels more right more natural for me but
it is harder it will be more challenging it will be there'll be trials and tribulations coming with
it may not be as safe and I was just having a lot of doubt a lot of questions and spirituality
wasn't really helping me at the time um so I was going through a little bit of a situational issue
and so I took a trip to Colorado um just to kind of escape do a little fun traveling see the world
get out in nature kind of get away from myself and reconnect my roots if that makes sense
and me and my boyfriend wake up one morning we're like let's go get coffee we go to Golden
Colorado I think is where it is we go we're just wandering around grab some coffee and I look
across the street and there is a crystal store and I'm like okay well we have to go in it because
come on it's a crystal store let's just go check it out we got our coffee we got some time before
we go run around for the day and my boyfriend's like hell yeah we head over there it's like this
beautiful little store smells amazing I literally I bought a candle of what they were burning because
it smelled so good and so welcoming and so inviting and we're checking out crystals we
spend a bit of time in there they had quite the collection um I found one crystal I wanted in the
candle my boyfriend found something so he went up to go check out and I wanted to look at the rings
they had like a bunch of crystal rings at the checkout counter so my boyfriend goes to check
out I'm looking at the rings and the lady working there seemed very nice was chatting it up with my
boyfriend and I was looking through the rings and I found my favorite stone is opal and I found an
oval ring that fit my finger which is quite literally impossible impossible because i have
tiny little piano playing fingers okay they're skinny i literally have to wear an infant ring
on my pinky as a pinky ring because it's so small so finding rings that fit me is really hard but i
found an opal ring that fit me perfectly and i was like fuck yeah this is my day so my boyfriend
finished just checking out i put my stuff up there and the lady's demeanor kind of changed
and she kind of like slowly took my stuff and she looked up at me and she was like
can I cleanse your energy or like can I can I do that for you and I was like uh sure so she she's
like hold your hands and she grabs a tuning fork and she waves this tuning fork over my hands and
tells me to flip them over waves them over the palm of my hands looks at me and she goes
there's something you're not doing that you're feeling withheld by and if you just tap into your
creative direction you truly listen to your true self so many blessings will follow and i i know
you're feeling like you're in this rut but you don't need to worry about money you don't need
to worry about any of these things you need to focus on yourself and do what truly benefits you
and i was like she went on this five minute rant about all these issues that i was facing
internally and I would just looked at her like this is exactly what I needed to hear right now
and I don't know I genuinely to this day don't know how she knew that I needed to hear this
the looks me and my boyfriend were giving her the entire time she was telling me all this
information it just felt like the universe just was reaching out to me and telling me Hannah
you need to choose yourself you need to stop living for other people and the fact that it
like literally outwardly came from a random stranger's mouth and then she handed me my
things and was like have a wonderful day and told me to move on literally the biggest strangest
spiritual moment of my entire life it changed the course of my life I dropped out of college
I have been focused on my career I've been focused on myself and so many blessings have
followed I owe that woman my entire life because if I didn't do that I would have been stuck in a
career path that i hated i am so glad i experienced that moment thank you to her
sorry i feel like i need to take a little breather because i don't know if you guys have this issue
but i feel like my mind quite literally goes a thousand miles per hour and then my mouth while
i'm talking tries to keep up with my mind because if i don't talk fast enough i forget about what i
was thinking about and then it's just like an endless cycle so i apologize if in these little
rants and answers and questions that i have if any of my words get a little jumbled or if it
sounds like i'm talking a thousand miles per hour that is my issue i'm sure i will get used to all
of this the more i get into podcasting but thanks for sticking with me let's let's get on to the
next question so high right now i don't know how i'm forming coherent sentences but i want this i
mean that's the goal of this podcast if you're too high you're feeling a little lonely feeling a
little lost in this world maybe a little down and out this can be just a fun little place a little
smoke sesh where we can hang you know but someone one of my friends asked me um hannah how did you
build your confidence and i get that question a lot because i feel like i built a majority of
my platform especially on tiktok um quite honestly being unapologetically confident in myself and i
feel like that kind of caught people off guard especially when i was also promoting the confidence
to other people without putting other people down I was like yeah I'm confident and bitch you can be
too and here's the thing everybody's like oh it's easy when you look like that it's easy blah blah
blah I wouldn't know confidence if I didn't spend what am I 22 years old if I didn't spend 21 years
of my life having quite literally zero self-worth. I had no idea what I was worth. I thought I was
worth dirt. I let myself be a dorma. I let myself get walked over. I was a people pleaser. I was
everything. I had no confidence. None. I had no idea where I stood in the world or how important
I was. Oh my god, my brain just had an aneurysm. How important I was in this world. Sorry, I'm not
gonna rerecord that though because that sounds fake and I'm on a roll here so let's keep going
I wouldn't have confidence unless I had no self-confidence at one point in my life because
that allowed me to re-teach my brain how to think okay if you have no confidence right now guess
what that's perfect because that is the ground that you're gonna build upon okay you're gonna
take those thought processes and the way you think about yourself and you're gonna completely flip it
around because my confidence was at zero because I was viewing myself from the perspective of other
people and from the perspective of other people's opinions about me does that make sense once you
start viewing yourself in the view of yourself and your goals and your dreams and how you want
to present yourself in the world your confidence will skyrocket okay because you will realize
actually I'm kind of checking off all the boxes that I really want to do and I'm kind of an
amazing person and I'm kind of incredible and beautiful and brilliant and people should treat
me that way you know but if you view yourself constantly in the view of other people's harsh
negative refining ways of viewing people you will never never amount to what they want no one can
amount to the levels of what they want not even the most beautiful person in the world not even
the smartest person in the world no one can amount to those levels so hold yourself accountable for
what you want to hold yourself accountable for hold yourself in the position that you want to
view and hold yourself to okay that is where your confidence comes from it comes from inside
yourself you cannot rely on outward outward sources anyways i think this also has to relate
with confidence but someone else asked me how to stop caring what other people think um and i've
touched on this in like little videos before but never in depth because i feel like growing up
everything i thought about was always from the perspective of what other people thought of me
i was constantly worried about what other people thought of me constantly from the way to my hair
look to what i was eating to not even to what i was eating or doing or looking like but how i was
presenting myself or speaking every little thing i like kind of just nitpicked from other people's
perspective and I don't know why but I kind of had this like near-death accident I'll talk about
it more in depth but um I guess this is the place to talk about it more in depth but so essentially
I just like hit the back of a police car going 70 miles an hour um because it was parked in the
middle of the highway at night um totally the police officer's fault he pulled me out of the
car and was like yeah you should be dead right now quite honestly I had just hit the steering
wheel so yes I felt that impact and knew I probably should also be dead right now um so
that shook me quite hard because the way I was living my life at that point in time was very
much so for other people I mean sure there were things I was doing for myself but relationship
wise and interpersonally it was very much so not for me and definitely for other people
because I was worried about what they were going to think of me and how they were going to view me
and once I realized oh my god life can be taken from me that quickly like like that quickly like
I was just trying to get home one night and then boom this happened I didn't even expect it like
my life could have been over why am I spending so much of my life living in misery worried about
what other people are thinking of me literally it's like me just torturing myself like why am
I spending the little time I am realizing that I have on this earth worried about other people
like are you kidding me that is such a waste of my time so I realized this and then I started
putting it in practice everything I did I just started picking myself and not worried about what
other people would think of me because like I said by like I've said before quite honestly um I don't
care what other people think of me because they're usually wrong like almost everybody I know has the
wrong opinion of me or they're projecting ideas about themselves onto you so i feel like when
people like especially being on the internet i get so much unwanted like opinions and they will
give you people give you opinions on anything literally from the way your hair is parted to
what you're wearing to the way you're decorating your house they will nitpick little tiny things
that you would have never thought about even thinking about and if you don't have a strong
sense of self that will get to you and it will get to you quickly okay but they will comment on
anything and i had to realize that all the stuff that they are commenting on literally had nothing
to do with me most of the time it was them just projecting like things that they were going
through i was like what how are they getting these thoughts about me and it was literally not
even about me it's never about you it's always about themselves and what they're trying to
project onto you and what they're going through so don't take it personally they're usually wrong
and it's usually a bad take anyways so there's no point in time wasting the time you have on
this earth worried about what other people are thinking of you okay the only person you need to
worry about and what they think about is yourself and how you view yourself and how you view yourself
in the world okay anyways i think i think that's it for today i'm gonna do more topic related
episodes coming up and i'm going to release them every week so you'll have so much more to hear
from me i know was it fun i had fun did you have fun i know anyways halloween is coming up i have
no idea what i'm gonna do but i need to pull some looks i need to go all out because i know everybody
else is going all out and i can't wait because i love to see it i'm honestly so excited um but
you guys will hear from me next week and i'll have something super special in store for you
i can't wait to talk to you guys then see you soon bye
