Every single kid knows the feeling. You're lying in bed, the lights are out, and you are sure that something is beneath you. You heard a sound, you saw something move, and your heart is literally pounding out of your chest because you know something is there. So you call for your mom, your sister, or whoever makes you feel safe. They come in, flip on the light, look under your bed, and they show you. There's nothing there. maybe some dust bunnies and a lost sock. Go back to bed, they say.

It's just your imagination. The problem is, sometimes adults are wrong about these things. If there's one thing that we've learned from doing this show, is that the world is full of things we don't understand. And children can be more in tune with the paranormal than adults. It might be why they're often the ones to have these experiences. Take, for example, what happened on one drizzly February day in 1977. Over a dozen students at a British private school saw a UFO land just off the property.

But when they tried to tell people, hardly anybody believed them, that is until more eyewitnesses came forward. Of all ages, and soon there were hundreds of them. What they saw was something no child could make up, no adult could explain. The phenomenon became so prolific, it earned the area a nickname, the Welsh Bermuda Triangle.

And what happened there was far more alarming than any monster hiding under the bed. I'm Yvette Jentele. And I'm her sister, Rasha Pecorero. This is so supernatural. Broadhaven, UK,

is a small coastal village in southeastern wheels. It has beautiful beaches and every summer tourists come to town. But on Friday, February 4, 1977, Broadhaven didn't feel like a picturesque beach town. Instead, it was rainy, overcast, and cold. Still, that didn't keep most students at Broadhaven Primary School from wanting to play outside. 10-year-old David Davies, on the other hand, wanted to stay indoors and read. According to him, he got bullied a lot because,

of his weight and his interest in sci-fi, which his classmates, I guess, didn't consider cool. So he stayed behind in the dry, warm classroom where no one would bother him. But when the bell rang and the other kids came rushing back in, they were a little more excited than usual. They all told David he'd missed something epic. They'd spotted a UFO in the sky. Poor David probably thought they were all teasing him at first. While he'd love science fiction, he didn't believe UFOs or aliens existed outside of made-up stories. But the more they spoke about it, the more David realized this didn't seem like a joke. One classmate named Michael Pugh said he'd seen a television special about alien spaceships

just a few days ago, and the craft looked exactly like the ones from the TV. According to Michael, it was a long cigar-shaped ship with a dome on top. It also had a bunch of flashing lights. Another student, nine-year-old David George, said the craft came close enough for him to spot an alien on board, and he said the creature had pointy ears. A few other students claimed to see it too. They said it looked human, accepted suit or skin, was silver and shiny. The kids also told the teachers what they'd seen, but none of them believed them.

In fact, they thought the students were making up stories to get out of their classwork. But the buzzing quietly continued, and by 3.30 p.m. when the school day ended, David's curiosity had gotten the best of him. David grabbed his books and went out to the schoolyard, curious if anyone else had seen the alleged spacecraft. That's when he overheard another group of, of kids chatting about it. Apparently, the UFO had landed just beyond the school grounds, which meant David still had the opportunity to investigate it for himself. He climbed up a steep hill

and slipped behind some trees. That's when he saw something he could not explain. There, popping up from behind the trees, was a cigar-shaped craft about 45 feet long. And just like the other kids described there was a dome over the middle of it. Then, as David was watching, the thing actually rose into the sky, moved a bit, and then dipped down again behind another tree, almost like it was trying to hide from him. David wasn't scared, though. All he could think about was how cool this was. But for some reason, he still had a sudden, intense urge to run away anyway. Not in fear. but almost like something had taken control of his body

and was trying to force him away. David couldn't help it. He sprinted the entire way home. And when he got there, he told his parents exactly what he had just seen. And surprisingly, unlike his teachers, they believed him. They even called a friend of theirs,

someone obsessed with UFO sightings, to see if he had any theories. And that friend shared the account with a journalist he knew. The reporter decided to cover it on the news, and over the weekend, the Broadhaven Primary School sightings blew up into a major story.

In the meantime, David and his friends actually called the police begging the officers to investigate and confirm the spaceship was real. And they did this all on their own without their parents' help. While I don't know if the police believed this story, I do know that the police believed this story, I do know

that they had to take every report they received seriously, no matter how outlandish it sounded. So a few officers agreed to contact school officials, take their statements, and search for evidence on school property. As part of their investigation, they had to get in touch with the headmaster. His name was Ralph Llewellyn, and just like the other teachers, Ralph was a skeptic. He didn't believe in aliens,

and he definitely didn't think one had visited his school. Ralph was also frustrated that things had gotten so out of hand. From his perspective, his students had gotten the local news and the police involved as a silly prank. He wanted to shut everything down right away. So the following Monday before classes began, he rounded up all the kids who claimed to see the UFO. Each kid was sent to a different classroom. Then Ralph gave them a piece of paper, a box of crayons, pen, pensions and pencils, he told them to draw exactly what they had seen that day. Ralph figured he'd end up

with 15 wildly different pictures, but instead they were all virtually identical. Each showed a silver or blue ship sitting in the grass. It was long and thin other than the round dome in the center, and many of the drawings included a row of dark colored windows or panels around the dome section. As Ralph flipped through the pile of drawings, he realized there was no logical explanation for this. The only way the art could be so consistent across the board was if all of the students had seen the exact same thing. He still didn't know if it was an alien ship, but he knew that the kids had seen something. And the students weren't the only ones in the area who saw it. Even more eyewitnesses came forward saying they'd seen them.

the craft too, and this included a woman named Dorothy Kale, who worked in the school's cafeteria, but she hadn't spotted the craft on February 4th. She saw it two months before that on December 9th, 1976. She was driving around with her son and her two family friends, and they all saw a yellowish white dome shaped like dance through the sky. At first, Dorothy and her friends assumed they were behind some kind of machine or farm vehicle, so they pulled over to get a better look, only for the light to vanish the moment they put the car in park. Dorothy didn't tell anyone at the time

because she wasn't sure how to explain the encounter. But now, with so many students coming forward, she was comfortable enough to say she'd also spotted an alien spaceship. Over the next few months, other people from the Broad Haven area spoke up too. Throughout the spring, they also spotted strange lights in the sky and craft that couldn't be explained. So many people were talking about it that Broadhaven locals gave the flying ship a nickname.

They called it The Thing. And it wasn't leaving anytime soon. In April of 1977, about two months after the Broadhaven sighting, a woman named Rosa Granville was at the Haven Fort Hotel. It was only about a mile or so from, the school. The hotel, which had been built in the 1800s, sat on top of a cliff right over the ocean, so the views there were incredible. Rosa happened to own the hotel as well, and she worked in it, and she also lived on site. That morning, she was asleep in her second floor room when a brilliant

light came streaming through her window and woke her up. She got out of bed and walked over to see what was going on. There was something flying in the sky just outside the hotel. Rosa had never seen anything like it before. The object almost looked like a flying saucer, except it seemed to be upside down. The flat part was on top and a dome was on the bottom. So it sounded similar to the one that appeared at the primary school, but it's hard to say if it was the same ship. Rosa watched as the saucer descended toward the ground. But before it could land, a different blinding light shot out of the craft. It was every color of the rainbow, and it emitted this incredible heat. Even though Rosa was behind a thick pane of glass, she felt it burning her cheeks, as though she was getting a really bad

sunburn. It took a minute for her eyes to adjust to all of the light, but once she was able to see again, she noted that the ship was now sitting in the grass, and it seemed to be engulfed in multi-colored flames. Then she watched as two figures emerged from the blaze. They looked human except they had unnaturally long arms and legs, basically like they'd been stretched out. They were wearing white suits that either covered their heads like mask or they didn't have faces at all. Rosa couldn't see their eyes, nose, or mouth. and the figures kept staggering around like they were off balance.

They were also bending toward the ground, as if they were trying to pick up something. The entire thing was so strange, Rosa needed someone else to see it too. So Rosa did exactly what I would do. She ran up and down the hotel's hallways banging on every single door to wake up her guest. She gathered a huge crowd of people, then took them back to her room, But when they all looked out the window, the ship was gone. And so were the figures in white suits and the multicolored flames. So a few hours later, when Rosa went on her break,

she walked out to the grassy field where she'd seen the craft land. She looked around and that's when she saw a circle of burned grass, right where the saucer had come down. This told Rosa that she wasn't just imagining things, so she came forward with her story. Between her testimony, the statements from the primary school boys, and the other witnesses like Dorothy, it was becoming clear that something odd was happening in Broadhaven. After that, the locals began demanding answers.

So a federal department known as S4 sent a team to investigate. S4 was basically the UK's equivalent of Project Blue Book at the time. And there isn't much that's publicly known about them. but in the 1970s their agents were consistently looking into UFO sightings, alleged abductions and other strange phenomena throughout the UK. After they investigated the Broad Haven incidents, the officials said they still didn't know what the locals had seen, but they had a few theories of their own,

all of which were a bit ridiculous, if I'm being honest. First, they suggested that maybe the kids at Broughton, What Hathen Primary School had seen, and get this, a sewage tank. So apparently, the campus had a big cigar-shaped gray metal tank not too far from the playground area. So the speculation was that 15 separate kids all mistook it for a UFO that was parked in the grass. But the students and their families objected to this explanation. Many of them had grown up on farms with their own sewage tanks. They knew better than to mistake it for The Thing.

So then a local Air Force official came forward with a different explanation. His name was Flight Lieutenant Cowan, and he was stationed at a nearby base called RAF Brody. Cowan never saw the ship for himself, but he'd worked in and around mines, which were full of hazardous materials. and chemicals. He knew firefighters wore special suits made of a metallic-looking silver material whenever they responded to fires and mines. So Cowan thought maybe the hotel owner,

Rosa, had witnessed some kind of industrial accident, with local firefighters rushing to the scene in these silver suits to contain it. Except if there'd been a major industrial accident that day, you'd think Rosa would have heard about it. But there was no record of any kind of chemical fire. Not to mention, emergency workers wouldn't be able to put out the flames, clean up all of the wreckage, and disappear without a trace during those few minutes that Rosa went to grab all of the witnesses in the hotel. Like, makes no sense.

Yeah, I completely agree with you, Rasha. Even Cowen eventually acknowledged that his firefighter theory didn't make much sense. Instead, he came up with a new suggestion that maybe someone had borrowed or stolen one of those silver suits from the fire department and wore it to prank the locals. Except, Cowan didn't give any evidence to back up this theory, at least not in 1977. But over 18 years later in 1996, a local man named Glenn Edwards came forward with an old secret. He said back in the late 1970s, he used to play a lot of practical jokes on the people in town. And since he owned a silver body suit, he'd often wander around tricking people into thinking he was an alien. And why would you do this?

That's a good question. But the problem is, this explanation doesn't fit the testimony from the 15 students at Broadhaven Primary School. They might have seen Glenn walking around, but many of the students said they'd seen the alien inside the saucer while it was flying. There is no way Glenn could have pulled off that type of prank. I mean, agreed. I'm not buying Glenn's story either. But he wasn't the only one to chime in. Some officials with the U.S. Navy also spoke out about it. And they were also convinced this wasn't a prank.

Instead, they suggested that perhaps the British Royal Air Force was testing a new kind of airplane in the spring of 1977. And that might have been what had landed at the Broadhaven Primary School. Two months later, maybe another experimental plane crashed outside of Rosa's hotel. And she may have seen the emergency firefighter's response, but mistaken it for a UFO crash. But every single eyewitness that came forward said, they didn't believe they'd seen an experimental airplane or a prankster or a sewage tank. They all agreed they had spotted an alien spaceship. So the mystery prevailed. And later that year in 1977, a reporter with the Sun began covering all the events in the Broadhaven area. As he dug deeper, he realized that

This wave of UFO sightings was actually nothing new. Broadhaven had always been a hotbed for alleged alien activity. Some reports happened decades before the one at the primary school. And many reports were very vague, but the journalist heard about a school child named Warren Davies. It's unclear if he was related to David Davies, but he lived about five miles outside of Broadhaven. One day in 1935, Warren and his sister were walking home from school when they saw a big yellow orb flying through the sky. At first, they thought it was a balloon. But it started zipping back and forth, sometimes flying against the wind.

Warren and his sister were so scared that, I mean, they ran away before they could even get a better look. Years later, in 1952, a man only known as Mr. Thomas was well. walking along the beach in the middle of the day when he spotted something half buried in the sand. It was some kind of metal disc-shaped object. We don't know exactly how big it was, but when Mr. Thomas got closer, two strangers appeared out of nowhere.

They warned him not to get too close because the object gave off radiation and he wasn't wearing a protective suit. Apparently, they all. also explained they'd come from another planet. And they told Mr. Thomas the name of the home world. But he supposedly forgot it afterwards. Mr. Thomas, how could you forget something so important as that?

That would be etched in my mind. Would that not be etched in your head, Rasha? It would definitely be etched in my mind. I wouldn't forget a fact that important. Well, on and on it went. This particular reporter found diary entries, newspaper articles, and police reports going back decades. All of them were about people in and around Broad Haven seeing flying objects, visitors from outer space, and other paranormal phenomena. In 1977 alone, the local police collected 450 separate reports on supernatural phenomena.

The data was overwhelming, but the journalists grabbed a map and noted the location of each and every encounter, and he saw that all of the incidents happened within the same triangular region, which ran along the coastline. He dubbed the area the triangle of terror. But in the years afterwards, other people referred to it as the Welsh Bermuda triangle or the Broadhaven triangle. It was clear to him that something strange was happening in this region of Wales. The reporter, didn't know what was causing it, but later other researchers speculated that maybe Broadhaven wasn't just a pit stop. Some wondered if it was home to a secret alien base. Throughout 1977,

the people of Broadhaven and the surrounding area kept calling the police to report strange, almost impossible events. These included UFO sightings and alien encounters. But for some people, people, it didn't just happen to them once. A few had recurring events that were hard to explain. Like Rosa Granville, the owner of the Haven Fort Hotel, she had another encounter one morning around 2 o'clock, though the date is unclear. That day, Rosa was sound asleep when someone rang the doorbell of the hotel. Since this was a small, family-run operation, she didn't have an overnight receptionist. Instead, Rosa had to drag herself out. of bed, walk to the front door, and unlock it. When she opened it, she saw two men standing outside.

They looked like they could have been twins. They had the exact same face and it was hard for Rosa to gauge exactly how old they were. Plus, their skin looked smooth and waxy, almost inhuman. And each man had the same slicked back hairstyle. The men told Rosa they wanted to talk to her, but then they weirdly said they didn't have time to right then. They had to go to a different appointment in the middle of the night. But when the men told Rosa they'd be back later, she felt very nervous, and rightfully so. Before she could argue, they turned to walk away, and then they vanished into thin air. Strange as it sounds, Rosa's account fits with what we've heard from a lot of other UFO witnesses.

It's common for strange men in suits to visit people after their encounters and try to talk to them or basically silence them. And they're often known as the men in black. They usually look odd, almost inhuman. And they often travel in pairs. They typically behave very strangely too, which is why some people think the men in black are actually aliens pretending to be human. As far as we can tell, the men in black never returned to the hotel afterwards, but strange things kept happening to Rosa and some of her friends. On April 23, 1977, a pair of Broad Haven farmers named Billy and Susan Coombs

were watching TV before bed. But their eyes were drawn to the window when something reflective in silver began moving around outside. Billy turned and saw that the silvery reflective thing was actually a little. a person in a metallic suit. And they were incredibly tall. Billy estimated that they were at least eight feet tall, possibly taller. Billy couldn't make out the intruder's face

from where he stood. That's when Susan ran upstairs to her daughter's bedroom for a better look. Through the upstairs window, she realized the eight-foot figure didn't have a face. There were no eyes, no nose, no mouth. It was just a face.

blank. So she and her husband called the police, and they arrived to find the couple in a state of absolute panic. Except the being wasn't there anymore. Billy and Susan were too upset to explain what had just happened, so it was impossible for the officers to make any sense of their story. Then at a later date not too far in the future, Susan saw something else incredible. Once again, she was at her farmhouse, but this time it was. was in the middle of the day and her entire family was around. At one point, they all looked out the window, which had great views of the surrounding countryside and shoreline in the distance,

and they spotted a flying saucer racing through the sky. Almost immediately after she saw it, her phone rang and it was Rosa. Rosa explained she'd been eating in her hotel's restaurant when she'd also seen the flying saucer out the window. She was presumably calling because she knew about Susan's previous sighting and that Susan would believe her. But Susan interrupted to say she was watching it right now in real time. So the two stayed on the line and kept narrating its movements, confirming they were observing the same thing. Eventually, the saucer raced out toward the ocean and Rosa admitted it had disappeared and she couldn't track it anymore.

But Susan could still see it. As she watched, it flew over the water, then paused to hover over a small island that was barely visible on the horizon. Then she said the island split open and the saucer flew inside disappearing underground. Just like our unidentified, submerged objects. Right? Our USOs. If you haven't listened to that episode, you need to. It was almost like the island was an entrance to some secret underwater base, and most of the UFO sightings in the triangle happened in or near the ocean.

Before, we told the story of Mr. Thomas, who reportedly found a buried flying saucer on the beach in 1952. But it's worth mentioning that for centuries, local lore has talked about fairies that live on islands just off the shore. Or to be more accurate, they lived under the islands. Because legend said they dug deep tunnels that reached all the way down to the bottom of the sea. And they had the magical ability to turn invisible or even make their whole island vanish if anyone got too close to them. It may sound like something basically out of a storybook, but some euphologists believe those tales weren't actually about fairies. Maybe hundreds of years ago, the Welsh people were actually witnessing similar alien activity,

but compared to what they knew at the time, which was fairies and magic. Unfortunately, we don't know enough to say why aliens may be so interested in this particular stretch of the shoreline or this particular part of the UK. But it's not just aliens that are attracted to the area. Today, the Broad Haven Triangle is a major tourist destination. People flock there from all over the world and not just for beach vacations, but also to hunt for evidence of life on other planets. The local hotels host UFO-themed events, and they encourage visitors to come out on

particular weekends. Then they bring in professional euphologists to teach guests what to look for in the sky, and how to tell unidentified craft from ordinary satellites and airplanes. Those experts include David Davies. After he saw the saucer when he was 10 years old, he became obsessed with aliens and paranormal phenomena. He read every book he could get his hands on, until he owned the largest collection of UFO text in all of Wales. His sighting, changed the course of his life. And David Davies isn't afraid of what's out there.

That little boy who saw something behind the school that day spent his entire life searching for explanations. And now he's the one helping others make sense of what they saw too. So if you ask David Davies, I think he'd say, not all monsters are worth fearing. Some are worth studying because they may hold the key to understanding our place in this massive universe.
