Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a HeadGum Podcast. We've been chit chatting, yapping for a minute, and when asked about the message of the film, all I could muster was, friends are life. What's this movie about, Kiernan? Friends are life? Friends are life. Not friends are for life. No, friends are for life. We kept it simple, man.
Starting point is 00:00:26 What's that movie? That party last night was awfully crazy. That party last night was awfully fucking crazy. I wish we taped it. I wish we taped it. Do you know what I'm talking about? I love College by Ashara. No, I need it.
Starting point is 00:00:42 No, was it in Project X? You don't know the song? Freshman, freshman, do need it. No, was it in Project X? It's, you don't know the song? No. Freshman, freshman, do something crazy. You know what? This would have been a good song for Sweethearts actually. Damn it. It's what Jordan posted of us outside that party and that's the song.
Starting point is 00:00:57 Oh, was that the audio? Was that the audio? Damn. Cool. Kiernan not locked in on I Love College. Shoot. Are we rolling? Damn. Wow! We're locked in on I Love College. Shoot. Are we rolling? Damn.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Wow! Wow! We're on So True. Hi baby. With Kiernan and Nico. So true. You guys are so cute. You're so cute.
Starting point is 00:01:13 I love you too. You know what, I'll tell you a secret. What? I don't know if I've told you guys this impressed you, I don't know. We've done a little press for the movie already. When this episode comes out, the movie will have been out for a week.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Really? So we can, without, I wanted to do that so we could talk about anything in the movie. Spoils it. No spoils. Yeah. Amazing. It's all able to be spoiled.
Starting point is 00:01:28 So if you're watching this right now and you haven't seen the movie, know that we might talk about stuff that's happened, so go watch it right now. I don't know why I turned to the wrong camera. I'll turn to mine. When I got this part in Sweethearts, I was so nervous to meet you guys. What? I was like, what if Kiernan and Niko don't like me? Because you guys have already been...
Starting point is 00:01:44 You know? I will say, I actually don't think I've told you this, but when you got cast, I immediately texted a very personal, deep, just like important group chat of mine. And we were freaking out about the fact that you got cast. Is Sam in it? Sam is in it.
Starting point is 00:02:06 I knew Sam would be in there. Yeah, it's three of my buds and me and it's my most chaotic group chat and we were losing it because we exchanged Caleb content. Come on. So it was really big for my crew. I was like, what if these hot young movie stars don't want to hang out with me all summer? Stop. Stop. Then what will I do? I'm just a clown. Well the opposite happened. We fell in love. We did fall Do you think people think we're faking it?
Starting point is 00:02:38 There's haters out there They can pick up on that kind of stuff. They know that we're real. They know real chem They know they know a trio when they see it. I think so. We're super dank. We're super dank We're super dang. This could be the new Charlie's Angels Yeah, yeah Someone take note. Hollywood do something about it. Am I sitting weird on this? Do I look weird on this fucking thing? Does Nico look weird? Do I look weird on this fucking thing? Does Nico look weird?
Starting point is 00:03:04 Do I look like...I don't know Really? Bring your mic down a little bit, Nico Oh, wait, I can bring her to me Pull it down so it's not in front of your face Bring it...yeah Stunning There you go, brother
Starting point is 00:03:20 There's no chance you're gonna end the and you pulled it further away Fuck me,. Oh! I'm not good at this shit. How many podcasts have you guys done in your lives? I've done one. Really? Uno.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Really? What pod was it? Bridge to Bridge podcast, shout out to Bay Area. Nice! Let's go! Big Mike, you know, we talked about, you know, just SF shit. Cool. Right on. I did not know you know, just SF shit, dude. Yeah. Cool. Right on.
Starting point is 00:03:45 I did not know you were from San Francisco until right now. What? It's never come up. It's never come up. You never talk about it. So good. Do you know that he skateboards? Nico skateboards?
Starting point is 00:03:55 Yeah. No, Nico. He's actually really good, too. Before you got here, Kiernan and I took a bet on what You're So True would be for the episode. And my guess was that You're So True would be like, I love skateboarding in the bay. That's what I thought You're So true would be for the episode. And my guess was that you're so true would be like, I love skateboarding in the bay. That's what I thought you're so true would be.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Simple. Simple, keep it simple. You just ruined his so true. If that was the one, that'd be sick. Wait, what did, oh, it was Friends are Life. Friends are Life. Do you wanna tell people about Friends are Life? Yeah, I mean, we were, so we were doing a little bit
Starting point is 00:04:23 of Sweetheart's Press in Savannah because we were at SCAD, which was so fun, by the way. It was so fun. Shout out to SCAD. I love Savannah. I love Savannah. I love those students. I ate some fried banana peppers that changed my life.
Starting point is 00:04:37 Wait, you know what I went, what I did? What? I went to the gas station. Oh my God, the gas station chicken tenders, yeah. And I got the chicken tenders. Of the lifetime, the gas station chicken tenders. Yeah. And I got the chicken tenders. Of the lifetime. Oh, they were so good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:48 It was genuinely one of the better chicken tenders I've ever had. I never got them. And it was just, oh, we got to go back. I know. I never got them. But it was amazing. They were hyped to me. The bell peppers or banana peppers were really good.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Where did you get fried banana peppers? What was that place called, Nico? It's like a block from the telly. Some bar from the place. But the fried banana peppers were killer. Because it's like a fried pickle, kind of. Yeah, but... I guess in a way.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Like zingier. What is a banana pepper pre-pepper? Or pre-pickle? Like what is... One more time? Run that back? Wait, run that back for me. What is before the banana pepper gets pickled, right?
Starting point is 00:05:20 Is a banana pepper pickled? Well, that's not. It's natural. Is it? Not? Is it? It feels like sour in it it feels like sour what's happening with banana peppers can someone look this up they're well they've been they've been adulterated natural no well I'm wondering are banana peppers and pepper and chinis
Starting point is 00:05:43 interchangeable well they're definitely cured or... Okay, we have it up. So they're just regular peppers and then put into... Something. A brine, right? No, that's just pickled banana peppers. Oh, no. Could they be pepper and chinis versus banana peppers? What's the difference?
Starting point is 00:05:58 It's just like a naked banana pepper. They're not the same. I don't feel like we see them in the wild. Oh, the text could not be smaller. Oh, no....that are thrown around interchangeably and it's hard to know what. I don't feel like we see them in the wild. Oh the text could not be smaller. I know Move on this part's not interesting chance, and then we went to move on this is just the intro that one time Scroll oh my god Okay, keep scrolling brother. This is not what we need to see
Starting point is 00:06:23 What else in here? Oh, so that's been that's been pickled the Scoville. Do you guys know about Scoville? Yeah, Scoville Scoville is like scales this heat scale. Yeah for God. I got it They're both yellow. They're both mild, but they're not the same. Oh Whoa, like pepper and Cheney. They're commonly served pickled. Yo, so you're right I got it. The sweet peppers are native to Hungary. Okay. Hungarian hot wax peppers. What?
Starting point is 00:06:50 That. That sounds mani- That's sick. I've never heard that and I love that. It sounds like it would kill me, I love it. Are banana peppers hot? Okay, well we've had enough of banana peppers. We just cruise from friends our life to-
Starting point is 00:07:01 Oh wait, yo. All the way down. We gotta get back. Oh gosh, what a spender. So we're doing, that is the show though. That is what happens on here every week. I love it. I love down. We gotta get back. Oh gosh, what a change-up. That is the show though. That is what happens on here every week. I love it. We gotta get back to, we're doing press for the movie. We're doing press.
Starting point is 00:07:12 We're doing the LA Times. We are on a Zoom with the LA Times. We have been brought into a very chilly room to do a Zoom with the LA Times, and it's going well. Everything is smooth. We're all articulating our points beautifully, I would say. We're waxing poetic about friendship.
Starting point is 00:07:31 I mean, it's gorgeous. And then I get asked a question along the lines of what does this movie mean? What's the message? And we've been doing press for a second. I think I was either over caffeinated or underfed or something was going on where my brain was not operating Full speed college we cruised we cruised we've been chit chatting yapping for a minute and When asked about the message of the film all I could muster was friends are life
Starting point is 00:08:06 What's this movie about? Kirsten? Friends are life. Not friends are for life. No, friends are our life. We can't do simple man. And the interviewer thought we were being mean to you too. The interviewer was like, I liked friends are life. She was like, no no no that was great.
Starting point is 00:08:22 No it was beautiful. We're like no we agree. It's just funny. She was being sweet. And it was beautiful. We're like, no, we agree. It's just funny. She was being sweet. Friends are life. And it was definitely life with a Y. Yeah. Oh yeah, friends are life. That was friends are life. Yeah, baby. Who, who are, okay, who's your guys',
Starting point is 00:08:33 who's your number one best friend in the world? Whoa. You have to pick. Who's your number one best friend in the world? Mom and pops. Your mom and dad, equal tide. Yeah. He's true about you.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Yeah. I had a night out with, you know about this, but I had a night out in San Francisco with Nico and his parents So sick dude, I don't know Detail. Oh, I'll give you the details. I would love. I'll get show wait Nico show them the picture of me and your dad cuddled up All cute on that. Yeah, I'm 100. We both have the same little contact info or picture for Caleb. Oh, they're so cute I got the most drunk I've ever. Look at them. Show the camera. They're so cute. Getting out. Check that out, guys. Check it.
Starting point is 00:09:16 You know what though? We went to an after party in Savannah that had bacon wrapped dates. I had eight of them. Where were they? They served bacon wrapped dates and grilled cheese. Wait, where? At the hotel after party the rooftop after the hello I didn't know that little grilled cheeses had four oh my gosh yeah in another room though in on the rooftop next to the band outside elevator you take a left and but you kept going right. Oh, I never took a left. And then, but we went right. I know. I ran into, pfft.
Starting point is 00:09:47 In the bar. All the listeners are like, okay, okay. Wait, who's your best friend? My, well, I mean, mom. Mom is Bessie. Your mom is so good. Mom is Bessie, and then I also think of my childhood best friend.
Starting point is 00:10:01 We were still close. I don't see her nearly as much, but I knocked on her door because I knew that a six year old lived across the street. I was also six at the time. And I was like, Hey, I heard we're in the same age range. We should be best friends.
Starting point is 00:10:15 And we really were. And I still, when I think best friend, I think of Tula Goodman. And she's awesome. She's where, I mean, we're still neighbors. She's still, you door knocks the friends and you were six. Well, I, we're still neighbors. She's still- You door knocked for friends when you were six? I did.
Starting point is 00:10:26 I didn't go to school, so. I had to like really go for it. That makes me wanna cry. The idea of, I'm actually gonna cry. The idea of little you like walking up to a door and knocking and be like, I heard you guys have a six year old here. Perhaps she'd like to be my friend.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Yes, I had to proposition people because, because I didn't have a school social structure. That's so you've always had that confidence. I mean, maybe it started then. That's so I don't know if it's all confidence, but I do I do actually think that I have I developed a knack for finding the people that I wanted to be friends with because I didn't have like a built in, oh this is my friend group now because I'm at school. And I think it's carried on in adulthood where when I see someone and I like them, I like
Starting point is 00:11:18 make a very active effort to have them in my life if they're down. You're really good at friendship. Yeah, and you're good at the group chat you're very You're committed. Well you make it easy you both do friendship in a different way, but you're both really good at it Yes, like you're quick to dinner. Yeah, you're quick to be like hey seven o'clock this restaurant come if you want I invited five people that you'll love yeah, I love that you do that Nico We were just talking about this off-camera Nico with the facetime Nico Nico's gonna hit you with a beautiful little facetime It's so true
Starting point is 00:11:45 I love FaceTime. I'm just like bro like texting takes so long Yeah, like I like just let's just talk you're real. Yo, where you at? I'm here. Okay word Period next question Would have taken like three minutes over text. Yeah, it was that fast. Yeah You guys both It's interesting. We were kind of talking in Savannah. We did that master class for the college students I do think it's funny that they called it a master class that always cracks me up a little bit I love it, but we all came to acting from very different places. Yeah
Starting point is 00:12:20 Tell me a little bit about how? Kiernan, how did you I mean? I think most people know you were in Mad Men when you were a literal baby baby child. This is true. What year did you start Mad Men? I was, I was six in 2006. Yeah. When I became a little Mad Men-y, Mad Men-y. Mad Men-y stuff.
Starting point is 00:12:37 What did you say? You said it on the podcast. Oh who was saying that they love Mad Men? Mad Meniac. Oh Mary Beth loves Mad Men. Mary Beth was a Mad Meniac. Yeah she's a Mad Meniac. Oh that was really cute.
Starting point is 00:12:47 But no, I came out to LA for pilot season, got a pilot. It did not get picked up. But whilst waiting for the news in either direction, I auditioned for Mad Men. And then what was gonna be three months of, oh, let's let's you know Oblige this six-year-old child who's begging to come out to LA it became my whole life. Yeah Crazy come to LA from where?
Starting point is 00:13:19 I'm a Chicago lady. Yeah, so you before that was- You started doing it when you were six, and you've been doing it for so long now. Yeah. Do you still love it? I do. More, actually. Because I can bring more of myself to it now. I mean, I feel like when I was a kid, I loved it. Like it was so, so playful, so fun.
Starting point is 00:13:40 I was never overthinking anything. It was just like pure joy, what I was meant to be doing. And then my love for it never wavered, but it's gotten stronger as I know more of myself now. I feel like I can bring a lot more to my work in a way that feels really cathartic and nice. And I just, I always wondered, oh, is there ever gonna be a point where I don't like this as much?
Starting point is 00:14:04 And it's the total opposite. Every single year I get more stoked on it. Yeah. More hungry. It was, I'm starving. Starving. I'm starving for the work. I'm starving. It was really fun watching you on set. I definitely, I mean, I'm inspired by both of you
Starting point is 00:14:18 in so many ways and Nico, I wanted in a second to ask about how you came to acting, but Kiernan, I was, there was a moment at the Lake House lake house we filmed there's a big lake house component to the movie and there was a moment where you were talking to Jordan and I've I've acted a little bit I'm like decently new to it compared to someone who's been doing it for so long and you the way that you were interacting with Jordan was so collaborative and so like you were really advocating for your character and being like I just don't think she would feel this way like I
Starting point is 00:14:43 don't think that this is what would be going on in this moment. And Jordan was like, cool, cool. So like, and Jordan is such a good director. She was really like exploring that with you. But I was so inspired by the way that you like advocated for your character and like took it seriously. I thought it was so cool.
Starting point is 00:14:56 And I really, I took a mental note. I was like, Kiernan's good at this. And that's what someone who's good at this does. So I took that away. I appreciate that. It's fun. It's fun to like get to know a person you're playing to the point where you can go, oh, I think they would do that or that.
Starting point is 00:15:09 And it might not work, but it's still fun to do that. Also a testament to how- Friends are life. Friends are life. I can tell when I'm like making a point and then slowly it's descending into a friends are life. Friends are life. It's getting, everything always comes back to a friends are life space.
Starting point is 00:15:24 No, I mean, it's a testament to how good of an life. It's getting, everything always comes back to a friends are life space. No, I mean, it's a testament to how good of an actor you are because you, in Jamie also in the movie, you play a character who is very guarded and closed off. And I think, and you know, in my assessment of the character, it comes from a place of fear and insecurity. Completely. And that is not you at all.
Starting point is 00:15:39 You're very cool and I think self-confident and I think you know who you are. I think you're very self-possessed in real life, but you play this character so naturally thank you that I think like yeah taking seriously I don't know I think it could be easy to look at something like a you know like a teenage rom-com and just be like oh I can just phone that in or whatever but you did you didn't and you don't thank you babe and that's you that what about you how'd you come to acting
Starting point is 00:16:01 I'm skating yeah yeah you were skating in San Fran. I was skating in SF. People hate San Fran, right? Can't call it San Fran. Right, you call it the Bay, San Francisco, or SF. Or the city. Oh, the city. I like the city. The city's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Why do people hate San Fran? I think it's just kooky. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just lame. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's just one of those things like you can't call it San Fran. Yeah. And I won't ever again. Thanks. I'll learn and I'll live and I'll learn. What? How did I mean? What do you mean from skating? Like someone just came up to you? Um, no, I got, uh, I got, I got injured, dude. I got injured skating and, and I, um, couldn't skate for like a year and a half. And I was like, what the hell am I gonna do?
Starting point is 00:16:48 And I tried acting. Yeah. Was there a light bulb, was there like a movie that you watched or a light bulb kind of? No, my cousins, oh, those are also my favorite people. You do love your cousins, yeah. Well, my cousins, they always told me I should try acting. I was
Starting point is 00:17:05 never, I was always kind of like nah I'm gonna just skate, skate, skate, skate. Yeah. But I got injured and then I couldn't skate so I was like what am I doing with some of my time? Yeah. Tried acting, worked out a little bit, beautiful team, shout out the team. Shout out the team. You know, started booking some projects. I was new to the whole thing, you know, and then you start to work with fucking beasts. You're a beast. Like Cunin, yeah. You guys. And then you get fucking lucky like that, dude, you know? Yeah. It's so new. I was telling that master class, right? Like, you want to learn from me? Right like you you want to learn from me Beautiful is that everybody comes at performing from a different
Starting point is 00:17:56 Background and there's something to learn from everyone. I mean I learned from both of you on the set I don't think it's just like an amount of time that you've done it. It's your approach to it that really right? That's really beautiful. It also makes sense to the It's your approach to it that really that's really beautiful. It also makes sense Thank you, it makes sense it kept happening cuz Nico you're a very good actor. Yeah, thanks, bro I know you know that but you're so good in the movie. It's wild to hear that and I'm stoked to hear it Yeah, you know, I love a compliment. I fucking dude. I'm back it. I love it. I'm good. But it's all just always weird hearing that yeah, not that I hear it a lot, but it's weird hearing that cuz I'm did I back it I love it. I'm good, but it's all just always weird hearing that yeah Not that I hear it a lot, but it's weird hearing that cuz I'm like I Think I'm a good skateboarder. Yeah, I know I'm a good skateboarder. Yeah But acting is so crazy to me. Yeah, also
Starting point is 00:18:38 It's just you know it's a whole new It's a whole new world Yeah, but going back to that master class thing and your point like it's very interesting and all that like It is because everyone comes from the different backgrounds. Yeah, I was like trying to say at that master class like I don't like you can do you can do other shit you can have like tunnel vision for acting but also if you take a step back and come back to it or you know don't feel too inclined to just like i don't know what the fuck i'm saying dude like you don't have to like it doesn't have to be your only thing or stick
Starting point is 00:19:18 out i think actually better if you don't let acting be the only thing you do well i will say when i and i've told this story before, but when I wrapped Sabrina, I was talking to an acting mentor of mine and I was saying, basically, what can we do? Can we work on a play? Can we work on a monologue? I always wanna be getting better
Starting point is 00:19:38 and I always wanna be growing. And she literally went, Kiernan, just go, walk around the block, live your life, get your heart broken, get angry, feel things, because I think having a life outside of the, your art is really important, because what else are you gonna be, how else are you gonna be able to bring stuff to it?
Starting point is 00:19:55 So I think that's the real, that's the real tea. Y'all, finding the perfect gift can be pretty overwhelming, I've always said. I always wanna make sure I'm giving gifts that people actually want. This year I found the perfect spot for be pretty overwhelming, I've always said. Starting point is 00:22:41 They know they're they know they're gambling. Yeah You know? they're gambling. It's tough. And it is what it is. We did a film in Taiwan once, and I fractured my wrist out there skating. I didn't tell production. I was like...
Starting point is 00:23:02 Because I was going crazy, I needed to skate and I just went skating I just totally bodied my wrist and I was like, oh and I had fractured it like Earlier in the year and I was like, I just heard that like wait How's that I didn't love that Hope the mic picks it up hated it But yeah, it was a point yeah, it was it turns out it was fractured but didn't tell production anyways. They might not still, they know now, sorry I didn't tell you. So you were just showing up to set with a fractured wrist?
Starting point is 00:23:33 Yeah, yeah. Carried on? I mean, it wasn't too physical. There was a scene where I had to push off a roof which was really tough, but that was- It wasn't too physical besides the roof. That was it. I did jump off a building, part sucked that part that part sucked Yeah, it's okay, dude. I mean they know they know now. Yeah
Starting point is 00:23:53 Yeah, you're careful you uh you do show up with a lot of new bruises and scrapes. I'm really like that's inspiring Yeah, I love them. I think they're I think they're nice. I like my scars We can also say After we met uh-huh I was like I was like I gotta watch some Sabrina uh-huh and I it was my um My background fall asleep for a little bit size size. I was basically falling asleep to you fall asleep for a little bit. So I was basically falling asleep to you. Me? That's so adorable.
Starting point is 00:24:26 Aw, that's cute. I miss our Kemri. I backed the show. It was great. Thank you so much. He backed Sabrina in a big way. I really, some of my favorite memories from filming this movie were Niko and I sharing his car
Starting point is 00:24:40 back to our shared building. And he would let me ride with him, which was sweet. And I would jump in with Nico. We would have just filmed, what, 12 something hours. Oh yeah, 12, 13. It's 5 a.m. We were shooting the night. It's five in the morning, we're shooting overnight.
Starting point is 00:24:54 And Nico just getting in the car and being like, telling the driver like, yo, turn this, put my playlist on and turn it up. And just me being like so fucking tired. And Nico being like, what do you think of this song? I'm like I love it Like I'm like truly so Orange sky Keep it going keep it going keep it going
Starting point is 00:25:12 Yeah, we did I once when we I think I told you this when we we were doing this We had a very funny schedule and that we were shooting like 5 p.m. To 5 a.m. There was one night that I thought that I was gonna rap sort of early-ish, like maybe in the 12, one range. And I was like, okay, great. Like I didn't get a chance to eat dinner or something. Like the lunch schedule got kind of all messed up. And I was like, no problem. I don't mind a 12 a.m. dinner.
Starting point is 00:25:45 I really don't. I've housed a meal at 2 a.m. before. It never, I never wrapped that early. Like, I think we ended up wrapping maybe at 5 a.m. or something like that and I just sort of misread the situation. And I went back to my apartment in Hoboken at the time and I heated up lasagna at 5am.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Let's go! And I have a selfie of me with my heated up Amy's 5am lasagna and it felt like a low but also a high. Yeah. I can't just... Lasagna at 5am is a tough call. That's a wicked move. That's in the trenches. Probably they heat up too.
Starting point is 00:26:23 Yeah. That's wicked. Because you have to watch that cook. The room just fell silent. Everyone just went completely silent when I said that. Watching that was on your microwave if I had in the morning and knowing like once that stops bubbling I'm gonna put that in my stomach. Cause I was hungry.
Starting point is 00:26:38 I just didn't get a chance. So what else was a girl to do? There was a freaking What's that? It's not Chipotle, it's the other one. Qdoba. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. There was a Qdoba near-ish our place, and I would sleep until, you know, 3 p.m.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Get up, shave, I had like wet shave every day, and shower, and then I would just like sit on my couch and just stare at the wall and house a Qdoba bowl. And I would just sit, cause I was so like, fuck, we're gonna go do this again all bowl? And I would just sit because I was so like, fuck, we're gonna go do this again all night. And I would just sit there and like, and I just I have vivid flashbacks from that filming of me just staring at a wall in an apartment in Jersey City. Just eating Qdoba. Because it was the easy thing that I knew would fill me up and wouldn't make me sick. It was just like protein and rice. And I would just and then
Starting point is 00:27:21 I would get and I would go do the movie. Yeah, I would wake up at 4, 4 p.m. before the coffee shop closed and be like, Good morning, everyone. Hello. Hello, guys. Please one, what's your coffee order? I'm a latte, a latte. I had a pumpkin spice latte today. No. It was very last minute decision. Wow. I was going full ice matcha like I usually do from this one coffee shop, but I walked there and I got a little chilly and I wasn't feeling like holding something cold and I went, you know what? It's, it's going to be my first PSL of the season. Maybe my last. Are those seasonal? Yeah. Pumpkin Spice is
Starting point is 00:27:54 pretty November. Are you doing coffee? You don't do coffee, right? I'll, I'll, I'll do a chai, nice chai. Yeah. With oat milk. That's beautiful. But I can't do coffee. I can't. It freaks me out a little bit. It like puts you on edge? Yeah. Damn. I get so anxious.
Starting point is 00:28:11 I never did it until college. You're an iced vanilla latte? Iced vanilla. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Iced vanilla usually. Or like iced and simple. I do like a little sweet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:20 Just a little something. It doesn't have to be crazy. Kick. Did you do on the Starbucks vanilla like shakes? The frappuccino. Yeah. Oh, I loved as a kid. I loved the vanilla bean frappuccino.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Yeah. So it went so crazy. Yeah. You were in there. You were in there as a kid ordering a frappuccino. That's so cute. Skating with the frappuccino. Well, it felt like a shake. Yeah. Well it is It fully is I mean Starbucks is doing some crazy shit Yeah, I don't even know what's going on. There's olive oil at one point happen. I was making everyone so sick
Starting point is 00:28:58 That was me. I was that was making everyone sick. It was like ole. Oh People were going like I it took one drink of this and shit for three hours. People were getting so ill from that. Coffee and olive oil. I mean both of those things together. That's crazy. That's mighty. But do you know what bangs? Mmm. Vanilla ice cream with olive oil. Yes. Oh yeah. It does. That's good. Little sea salt? Yeah. Ooh. And olive oil. I feel like olive oil ice cream had a little bit of a moment. Yeah. Yeah. But I like the drizzle on top. Just a little. Of just the vanilla. There's a restaurant in Brooklyn called Lilia. You've been there? I have been a little bit. I knew you'd been to Lilia. But honestly, the last time I went, I was 16 years old. I remember, I remember it vividly because.
Starting point is 00:29:40 Kiernan's a restaurant girly, by the way. Yeah, huge. Kiernan knows the spots. I remember it because I was at dinner with my mom and I was 16 and this guy comes up to our table and like makes like a little bit of a pass on me and I go, I'm 16 and he's like, back it up, back it up. Back it up. He goes, hey, my bad. My bad, my bad.
Starting point is 00:30:04 You right, you right, you right. I'll hold this, I'll hold this. Hold that hand there. Crazy. It was so crazy. That happened at Lillia? Yeah, it was so quick. He really backed up quickly too. That's nuts. Oh, I mean he should run.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Yeah, it was with Mama Bear. Mom, Mom witnessing that too. And the Muffledini there was was really good. Their food is really good They have a really good ice olive oil ice cream. I took an L there recently I I emailed the reservation team to try and get a last-minute reservation. It's a pop-and-place I was like sign Caleb Heron. I you it's your email Yeah, it's very clear who I am and I definitely a friend used to work there and got me like the like
Starting point is 00:30:44 Yeah, it's very clear who I am and I definitely a friend used to work there and got me like the like They're like hit famous people try to get a table thing Yeah, and I tried to get up table for four on a Friday night at the last minute and they said not gonna be able to Do that and I said humbled. Thank you. I said, I know my place and I know my place in the chain I'm not there yet. I hope that in maybe a couple years I could get Lillia to get me a table, but right now I respected it. I think it's their loss personally I really I'm a good tipper. I'm a sweet guy, I order a lot for the table. Fun time. You're a good orderer.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Thank you. They'd love to have me someday, I hope I get there. I think they would be so lucky. Yeah, if any restaurants wanna give me preferential treatment. Yeah, absolutely. Hit me up. Shout out to all the restaurants. Shots.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Restaurants are life. Your restaurants are life. Restaurants are life to me, I do love a restaurant. You're a good foodie. Yeah, your stories too Oh, I've been trying to do a little bit more. I sort of fell off on on sharing like food Like some really good you just posted a really good-looking Margarita I did I think so. I was drinking, I had been drinking the- It was like a Tom Yum margarita or something.
Starting point is 00:31:48 It was like a Thai- Oh, it was a masala margarita. Guys, I had the best Indian food at this place called Gymkhana in London. It was so good. And it was a little masala instead of salt. It was like, or it was a masala salt. I have never actually been domed by somebody so young.
Starting point is 00:32:04 The first time I went to dinner with Kiernan, the note was beautiful. I was so impressed by you. I was like this young woman running the table. There's like 12 of us at the table. The server, I think you were there for this one. It was at Via Corona. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:16 The Via Corona bathroom, yeah. And the server comes in, Kiernan goes, okay, we will take three veal for the table. Oh my. Like literally orders for everyone without asking. And I was like, actually, I was like, I'm so hot right now for everyone without asking and I was like, actually I was like, I'm so hot right now. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:32:27 I was like, that's like the sexiest thing I've ever seen. I really activate. It was beautiful. I go restaurant top. And if I, yo you top the whole table. I top. And if I check out your Instagram story, I would put money, 70% of the time,
Starting point is 00:32:39 if I open your Instagram story, it's going to be a gorgeous picture of a dessert or a picture of a single palm tree in the sky. Yes, there's a couple there's like a couple of palm trees the other day I did that put a couple in there. Yeah Post good good little quotes on the close friends guys. Yeah, those friends are really I mean I send you a lot of wholesome Wholesome content we send each other the most wholesome memes. Yeah, that's our that's our way of keeping in touch We don't even write words I mean, it's just a like like there's no I don't feel like we have much verbiage on on our DM
Starting point is 00:33:08 Occasionally someone will say real. Yeah, so true. Yeah, so true That is but that's that's what I get. I get sweet memes from you. I get face times from Nico These are my these are my little connections. I like your close friends, too Thanks. Yeah, it's always like you're out with the buds out in the world. Yeah. Yeah I don't I don't want I'm trying to think what I post on my close friends. What do you guys think of my close friends? Starting point is 00:33:53 No. You also made us sign papers. You did sign NDAs. Everyone on my close friends has signed an NDA. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How many people are on your close friends? Like maybe 100. Nice.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Yeah. 100, 110. on your close friends like maybe a hundred yeah yeah my close friends is really not a place where I just put like my closest most inner circle though that is everyone in this room who's on it it is all my close friends is also like if we if I just like you and trust your opinion like if you're a comedian I've done a couple shows with and I trust you yeah I mean oh you can see what I post on here yeah it's not it's not like we the clothes I'm sure I'm what I'm saying I guess is I'm sure there are people that are on my close friends that are like really And I'm like yeah, I don't mind. What's a little bit of a thrill to get the green
Starting point is 00:34:33 Yeah, the green little circle. You know who I never put on my close friends People I'm actively flirting with I feel like that's the ultimate flirt move no I know that's Wow, okay, but not I okay fair enough, but not I they don't they can't know too much about me That's that's fair. I can't be giving away the trade secrets up front. You got to put a ring on it first Yeah, then you can know my hot takes that's so true. You're your playboy now, right? You got Oh No, no you're talking about someone someone I went on a date with recently we had mutual friends Oh cute, and I was like did you ask any of our friends about me?

Sometimes it's not serious. Yeah, and you're having fun. Sometimes it's not serious, sometimes you're just having fun. We hook up once or twice, that was a good time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:36 Maybe that's the end of it. Niko gets it. Dude, you being a Playboy is sick. Niko! Hey, you know what? I did tell him to spread the rumor. I was like, that is kind of funny. I think it is. Hey, you know what? I did tell him to spread the rumor. I was like, that is kind of funny. I think it's funny. I do like it for the brand. Starting point is 00:35:59 Come on. Yeah, it's good. I did one time joke that someone like someone was asking me about a role I was in there like it's a pretty small role and I was like well when you're my size I'm not small in anything and I thought that was pretty slick. I think that I'm big and everything I'm big and everything. That's fine. I'm largest playboy. How about that? World's largest playboy No, that's too far. Is that too far?
Starting point is 00:36:25 World's largest playboy? Yeah. World's biggest playboy? Whoa. Now that makes sense. That's cool. Now that works. Merch.
Starting point is 00:36:33 I think that's a hat. Chance, make sure we're writing these things down. Guys, ideas. Chance, help. Wait, what was I going to ask you guys? Oh, Kiernan, there's a rumor about you that goes around. Okay. Geez.

Uh-huh. hear from time to time when people found out that we were friends Uh-huh like your friends with Kirin and ship guys heard something about her and I go what is that? This runs a little back. That's not true Yeah, like I don't have I have several meme accounts that I just enjoy posting on yeah, and One is like my pride and joy. It's very small though. Yeah, this is not I think that's that's the one thing that I will
Starting point is 00:38:58 Say is that the rumor that it's like some massive right? They think it's like one of the big ones, right? We're right. I'm not I'm I'm no trash can Paul yeah look it up dude I'm not a cat or can I look up the meme yeah wait Niko knows what it is do you well I think I probably made no no I'm just kind of look it up sure but there's also no I have like a couple I'm like but don't say that loud don't say that loud let it be a secret for Niko okay and Niko you can tell us kind of what it's like cuz I actually don't want you to reveal what it is I like this secret for you. I think this is good. I think we need to keep it. It's that one. Yeah, that's mine Let me see can I see can I see Nico what was pulled up there?
Starting point is 00:39:41 Oh, yeah, just make sure we don't turn it to you actually should look at it Can you click through the highlights as well? Just do me if you were like. Yeah. Oh, it's a lot of right wing stuff. No. No. No.
Starting point is 00:39:54 No. No. No. No. No. I've never seen this kind of pro police. Oh god. No, I'm just kidding.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Okay, the highlights. Oh my god, no, this is so funny. It's actually, it's actually now there's a there's there's somebody that I think uh would be interested in this account based on the couple of highlights I'm seeing. Oh really? It's kind of a lot of people know Secret oh this is really interesting Okay, good to know yeah, I love knowing that there you go and we'll never tell what it is I have another one too I can show you you don't yeah later
Starting point is 00:40:33 I want to know yeah, and also if you want me to cut all this weekend I love it, but we kept the secret. I think it's good to keep the secret keep them guessing Definitely keep the secret. If you really like look into it. It's probably obvious. Yeah, if you guys are in any like alt-right online Definitely keep it secret. If you really like look into it, it's probably obvious. Yeah, if you guys are in any like alt-right online Wait guys we have a voicemail. Oh my god. Put on your little headphones. Oh my god. We've got little headphones for you We have a voicemail from one of our so true fans our truthers. This is so exciting And we'll see what they they want something they want to know the truth about okay And we'll see what they they want something they want to know the truth about. Okay. Hi, Caleb and guest or guests. My name is Finn. I wanted to know the truth about
Starting point is 00:41:22 diet sodas. I personally think they taste like dirt. I hate how they taste, but people really swear by them and they love them. I just don't really get it I would love to know the truth about Diet sodas any of them honestly Let me know. Oh My goodness. Oh my god. That's fucking crazy. That really hurt me that I can't believe That we're here for this one. Nico. That's a that's that really hurt me a lot I'm a little do you guys have a favorite diet soda? Do you even drink diet soda? I do drink diet soda He goes out on I'll do a little maybe a little hungover diet coke. Okay, real king
Starting point is 00:41:55 We were drinking a lot of that I feel like I was doing a lot of DC on the shoot pound and diet coke sounds like like a like a nothing like a pound and diet coke's on sweet like like a DC and then a Journey on that Cunin was lasagna maxing Because like I was worried about you I I remember I was banging those things. I was in there recently discovered I are we ignoring the question and just talking about our favorite diet soda Well, he was gonna can I give the can I give the caller a little bit of credit?
Starting point is 00:42:34 Yeah, there is one diet soda that tastes horrible. Oh really and it's its name is diet. Dr. Pepper. Oh I do not like diet. Dr. Pepper Interesting a lot of other ones do it for me diet coke is the gold standard of diet. So yes in my opinion They really nailed something that others can't nail Diet Pepsi was my mom's soda growing up. That was my mom's yeah moms loved I Love a diet Pepsi mom's love a diet go to she would go through a drive-thru specifically to get like a massive Pepsi she and I knew she was fucking real jumbo. I knew she was fucking 24 ounces. Yeah Biggest possible diet Pepsi. Oh what classifies it to be diet?
Starting point is 00:43:14 Zero or low calorie Yeah, and it makes a big the sugar makes a big difference in the flavor. Yeah, right? Yeah But really so does not necessarily about sugar. Soda's about carbonation and chemicals. And they're able to get a lot of the chemicals in there still. Oh, they pump it in still. It's bad for you.
Starting point is 00:43:32 It's bad. For sure it's bad for you. Truly, surely. Yeah. Diet Sprite is not a very West Coast thing, but I like it whenever it's available. You like it. I like Diet Roopier.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Yeah, Diet Roopier's good. Diet Roopier's really nice. Also, Cherry Coke Zero, banger. Cherry Coke Zero is banger. I was in Vegas, and they had one of those digital, they had one of those digital sort of, you press a screen and decide which fountain soda you want. And the amount of Diet Coke options was heaven.
Starting point is 00:44:07 Oh, all the flavors? Every single flavor you could possibly imagine. Lemon, lime, cherry, vanilla. Cherry, vanilla. Go in there, go both. But it was one, I believe. It was so good. That's so beautiful.
Starting point is 00:44:19 So I guess the truth about Diet Soda is that it is lovely and maybe this person just needs to experiment a little bit more. We love you. You it tastes like dirt dirt dirt That's crazy They followed up with I hate it. I hate it Tastes like dirt and I hate it. I hate it and they know who I'm sure the caller knows who I am and what I'm about
Starting point is 00:44:38 Right. I know I partake I associate you with the DC you says me with that coke Yeah, I feel like you love it I feel like you ride for it and you talk about it I actually just reordered my friend Brian Robert Jones who's been on the show Plays guitar and paramour really brilliant musician and funny guy He makes clothes he makes clothing under this brand called LX IX and he made a shirt That's the it's like Diet Coke and flames with a pentagram as the oh, it's really cool That is cool It's like Diet Coke and Flames with a pentagram as the O. It's really cool.
Starting point is 00:45:05 That is cool. And I recently, just like the other day, bought a hoodie version of it. Nice. Because I had a t-shirt version of it, and I was like, now I need the hoodie. I also feel like, yeah, it's about, I was gonna say, ooh! Oh, that's sick. Pretty sick.
Starting point is 00:45:18 Isn't that fun? Well, I was gonna say, I feel like, aesthetically, soda is great. Yeah. Also, like, there's something about whole, I mean, the can of Diet Coke I love, but I also love the glass. The glass is so, it's sort of Americana in a kind of way.
Starting point is 00:45:31 Yeah, the glass Coke bottle. Yeah. Cold. There's something about it that's more experiential than it is just taste. If you guys could only have, both of you, if you could only have one drink for the rest of your life, what would it be? And is water out?
Starting point is 00:45:48 I'm gonna take water out. Let's say water is always there. You always have water So I guess two drinks you always have water cuz that's great And then you can only have one additional kind of fun Bev for the rest of your life. What is it? Lots of I can't I mean I gotta have my Java ice or hot you have to pick Ice latte. Yeah, so you're going to water and ice latte for the rest of your life water coffee. I love that feels right that feels right I'm not gonna like lose sleep over that answer. Yeah, yeah, thanks It's fucking really tough. Yeah like if Like if it wasn't that bad for you, I love a cold beer. Yeah, which one?
Starting point is 00:46:25 I'll I love a cold Pacifica. Yeah, but or a Sapporo. Yeah, but like But it's you know, if that was for the rest of your life your one drink. That's not good No, so no, I wouldn't do that. Maybe like maybe like maybe I do It wouldn't be good. Yeah. It's bad, very bad for you. So true. So true. Maybe I'd do like a... Like a fucking...
Starting point is 00:46:53 Soda water with bitters? Nice. I've been digging that. That's gorgeous. That's very adult. Yeah, that's very grown up. Yeah. Extremely grown up choice.
Starting point is 00:47:00 That is grown. For Nico. I'm going, knowing that we have water. Right. I think it's knowing that we have water, I think it's really hard for me to choose between Dr. Pepper and an ice latte. But I am gonna go ice latte. It's so important to me.
Starting point is 00:47:13 An ice latte, I can't do many things without it. I literally texted Virginia and Chance on the way here and said, is it possible for someone to get me an ice latte before the record? I will worship whoever makes it happen. And Virginia did make it happen, and it was beautiful. And I do worship her. I do, an iced latte, I sit, I write with an iced latte.
Starting point is 00:47:30 I get an iced latte when I'm like, damn, today's gonna be really hard. This'll at least start the morning off right. It's emotional support. I don't even need to, I mean, I will finish it, but it doesn't need to be, I don't guzzle it down. There's a ritual to the coffee. Something to sip on when I have a 45 minute drive
Starting point is 00:47:46 to somewhere. I'm like, oh, get the latte and that'll be part of the drive. Carbev, yes! Carbev. Very important. Carbev is huge. Very important. What about the pink coconut waters?
