We begin. Tonight's story starts on the night of November 16, 1963, in a park located in
Heek, Kent, England. A group of teenagers decided to break the curfew and, laughing, they drank
a little. They were walking around, laughing, making jokes, but what seemed like a calm night
soon turned into a nightmare. John Flaggin, 17 years old, described what happened to the
press with a trembling voice. He remembered that in the sky a very big,
bright star appeared in the distance, but that star slowly started getting closer to them.
It looked nearer, bigger and bigger, and out of nowhere it crashed into the trees.
At first, they thought it was a meteorite, a shooting star, so the boys kept laughing and
approached it.
But then something stopped them from moving forward, the light hadn't gone out, it had
intensified.
If they moved, it moved too.
If they stopped, it stopped as well.
It seemed intelligent, aware, as if it knew what it was doing, and the boys started to get very nervous.
They began running, trying to escape, and that light transformed into something else.
A two-meter-tall, dark, anthropomorphic being with wings and no head.
But even though it didn't have a head, it had two red spheres for eyes, two glowing orbs that were almost hypnotic.
Looking at them would paralyze you, and the boys kept pushing each other.
If one stopped, the other pushed, if one ran, the other kept pushing.
It was chaos, they didn't know what to do or where to go.
And this sighting wouldn't be an isolated one, because in the following days,
more people saw this being either in the park or near it, and they always saw it in the middle
of the night.
However, just as it arrived, this creature disappeared and wasn't seen again for another three
years, this time on the other side of the world.
Apparently, this being traveled from England to the United States, specifically to West Virginia.
On November 12, 1966, this sinister shadow sought refuge in the Cemetery of Clennon, West Virginia.
Five gravediggers were doing their work in the middle of the night when suddenly they heard the sound of branches cracking.
That sound wasn't new to them.
Cemetery are shelters for animals and also for people who have nowhere to spend the night.
So the cracking branches weren't unusual.
It could have been a cat, a dog, a person.
It didn't matter.
That sound was completely normal.
But what wasn't normal was the weight of that figure.
The branches weren't breaking like they would under a cat's paws,
nor were they breaking like they would under a person's feet.
So one of them, Kenneth Duncan, looked up and saw an unusual creature above the trees.
I saw something that I thought was a big man flying from tree to tree without a head.
They observed it for almost a minute as it glided between the trees.
It looked like a brown humanoid being.
It glided among the trees and was visible for about a minute.
After that, the being vanished without a trace.
There's something important to note about this experience.
Kenneth seemed to be the only one of the five who saw it clearly.
The others only saw shadows, figures.
They thought they saw something but didn't know exactly what.
Kenneth, on the other hand, was convinced of what he saw, a big, strong being that resembled a moth.
But the story stopped there, at least until later, when this thing moved on to Point Pleasant.
In 1966, Point Pleasant was a small, relatively quiet rural community with an estimated population of between 4,000 and 5,000 people.
It had light industries and a strong agricultural identity, but at the same time, it was almost unknown.
It didn't stand out for anything, it didn't draw attention, and it was the typical place where nothing ever happened.
Everyone knew each other, there were no conflicts, no fights, no flashy parties.
Point Pleasant was just a point on the map, nothing more.
And it remained that way until the Moth Man made its appearance.
On the night of November 14th, a farmer named Noel Patrick and his wife became victims of this being.
And I say, victims, in every sense of the word. That night, they decided to watch a movie.
They set up the TV, put the tape in, played it, and watched the film peacefully on the couch until they fell asleep.
At 10.30, Noel woke up to the sound of static. His wife was still completely asleep next to him and didn't notice that the static
was very strange. It had a high-pitched, screeching noise, and he described it as a weird musical
scale. It started low, then went up, then down, then up again, and back down. It was screechy,
distressing, painful to the ears. But the most sinister part wasn't that, it was that
outside the house they could hear the sound of a generator, the noise of a motor, something
very sinister and very loud. His wife didn't wake up, and in the middle of the chaos,
their dog began barking. Noel got up, opened the door, stepped out into the yard, but it was so
dark he couldn't see anything. He went back in, grabbed a flashlight, came back out, and
looking for his dog, he made his way to the barn. The animal was a strong German shepherd,
a hunter, with a powerful instinct and a bad temper. Noel approached him, looked around, and
focused on where the dog was staring. When he lifted his gaze, he saw on top of the
of the barn what seemed to be a creature from another world. It was an enormous being, about
two meters tall, with wings and red eyes. He had never seen anything like it before and felt
so much fear that he froze. Those eyes had him trapped, hypnotized, and when he pointed
the flashlight at it, the thing got scared. It jumped, hit the ground, and the dog started
chasing it. Noel kept calling him, begging the dog to come back, to leave it alone, but banned it
was determined. He was going to hunt that thing no matter what, and with his barking, he chased it
into the woods. That's when Noelle ran back to the house, grabbed his shotgun, but he was so
scared he couldn't go out again. He shut the windows, locked the doors, and hid with his wife.
The next morning, they searched for the dog. No matter how much they looked, they never found him
again. According to Noel, they found his paw prints circling back and forth, going into the woods
and coming back, but Bandit vanished forever. So the man called the police. That dog was very
important to him. He was his best friend. Noelle wanted him back, wanted to know he was okay.
But the police couldn't do anything for them. They told him the being could have been anything,
a bear, some kind of bird, that it wasn't a monster, that such a thing was impossible,
and maybe it was just a bad joke, a bored neighbor with a costume, or some kids.
However, Noel was convinced that thing wasn't from this world and that it had done something
to his dog. The police didn't want to listen to him, at least until the next sighting,
when four teenagers called them with a very similar story.
As I've told you, Point Pleasant had nothing special.
It was a quiet, rural area where nothing ever happened.
But there was a very interesting place there, a site built during World War II called the TNT area,
a secret military installation dedicated, as its name suggests, to the production of explosives.
It consisted of different underground and semi-buried bunkers.
They were like concrete igloos, and the enclave was striking in the middle of the woods,
with artificial ponds and a damp, swampy environment.
By the 1950s, the site had been abandoned, and in the 60s young couples would go there for privacy.
It wasn't directly in Point Pleasant but 11 kilometers north.
The isolation was perfect for them.
In the dark, in the middle of nowhere, without interruptions, it was perfect for a date.
And under this premise, one night two couples went there.
The couples in question were Linda and Roger Scarberry, and Mary and Stephen Mallet.
They got into a car together, drove to the TNT area, but on the way there's something
very strange happened.
Mary looked out the window and saw two red eyes next to the car.
Along the road, there was a strange figure, a two-meter-tall being with wings and huge
eyes.
They were like two headlights, two lights, and that terrifying gaze was almost hypnotic.
Immediately, she started screaming and everyone turned around.
The being stood up, started flying, and began chasing the car.
The scene was terrifying, straight out of a horror movie, and the driver accelerated without thinking.
For several minutes, the thing followed them, but the most intriguing part was that it never
got in front of the car where the lights were.
It was as if it fled from the light, as if it feared it.
According to Mary, what happened was this.
We all saw that, and Roger, the driver, sped down the road while we were on a straight stretch
at about 100 or 105 miles per hour.
The thing glided over our car from one side to the other until we reached the lights near
the arsenal.
The creature never flew in front of the car.
It seemed to be afraid of the lights.
At a certain point, the creature disappeared.
It stopped following them, and the friends went straight to the sheriff's office.
They were terrified.
