Starting point is 00:00:00 Warning, this story contains strong language, graphic descriptions, and might not sit right with everyone. Reader discretion is seriously advised. All right, so let me break this down for you. Imagine this, three different police forces in England kicked down doors, all part of this crazy, blink and you miss it, investigation into some truly messed up threats plastered all over social media. And I'm not talking about random trolls in their mom's basements typing nonsense.
Starting point is 00:00:30 No, these were serious, violent promises aimed at a British rapper who's been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. So here's the scene, cops from the Metropolitan Police stormed into two separate homes in South London, probably waking people up with a flashbang or two. Over in Kent, things got even more intense because local police there had to call in specialist firearms units. Why? Because there were whispers that one of the suspects might have had a gun tucked away at home.
Starting point is 00:01:00 and nobody was about to risk their lives knocking on the door politely. Essex police weren't left out of the action either. They hit three different houses. And get this, during one of those raids, some poor officer caught the worst of it. The suspect's girlfriend didn't just scream or push, she straight up through boiling water all over him. The guy ended up with burns on his arms and face. Like, what kind of person even thinks to do that in the middle of a police raid? Total chaos. When the dust settled, eight people were cuffed and taken away. Now, let's rewind a little. The guy at the center of all this mess. That's King Femi 3, a British Nigerian rapper whose real name is Abraham Adi Boyega Iand. He's been riding high in the UK music scene, just last year, he snagged the Best Young British Rapper Award at the Young Rapper's Awards. But here's the kicker, Iand was recently dragged.
Starting point is 00:02:00 through court on some heavy charges. He was accused of raping a 16-year-old boy and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl. Serious stuff. But in both cases, the jury came back with not-guilty verdicts. You'd think that would be the end of it, right? Nah. Even though the law said he didn't do it, people on the internet weren't buying it. Instead of moving on, they went full keyboard warrior mode and started firing off some of the vilest, most violent threats you can imagine. It's not just, I hate you, type stuff either, it was gruesome. One guy tweeted, I'll chop the king up and feed him to my dogs. Another posted, I'm going to find this so-called king and cut his nuts off. He's going to be my dog. Then there was this one tweet, hands down the most disgusting of the
Starting point is 00:02:50 bunch. You like little white boys, huh, you dirty nigg-nog. I'm going to slice your bits off and feed M to you. It's hard to even read that without feeling your stomach turn. While most normal people flagged the posts to Twitter and hoped they'd disappear, I and went a step further. He didn't just shrug it off or clap back with a disc track. Instead, he called in the big guns, literally. The Metropolitan Police encouraged him to make a formal complaint, and that's when the ball really started rolling. What followed was what the cops later called a fast-paced and far-reaching operation. They started tracking down IP addresses, mapping out location data, cross-referencing posts. It was like some CSI-level stuff.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Multiple police departments had to coordinate because the suspects were scattered across different counties. Perry Richardson, a spokesperson for the Met, summed it up like this. This investigation moved quickly. We had multiple raids across several. homes and worked closely with different police forces. The threats were absolutely vile, death threats, threats to castrate the victim, there's no excuse for that kind of behavior in a civilized society. All of our findings will be handed to the CPS at the end of this investigation.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Meanwhile, I and hasn't exactly been keeping quiet. He's not known for being the humble rapper type anyway. Instead, he leaned into his defiance and dropped a brand new single called I'm Bullet It's almost like a middle finger to the people who've been coming for him. Some of the lyrics are clearly aimed at the trolls and maybe even the guy in Kent who allegedly had firearms. Lines like, You try to slice me, your arms will freeze up. You try to shoot me, you can't pull the trigger. Talk about timing, right? But let's be real for a second, this whole situation is a mess from every angle. On one side, you've got a young rapper whose reputation has been dragged through the mud over charges he's been acquitted of. On the other side, you've got a group of people so consumed by rage, or maybe self-righteousness, that they're making threats so twisted they sound like something out of a horror movie.
Starting point is 00:05:05 And then there's the police. Some folks are praising them for acting fast, but others are questioning why they'd go all SWAT style over social media posts. Of course, if someone's promising to, cut a man up and feed him to dogs, maybe it's not the time for light-touch policing. Especially when there's even a hint that a suspect might be armed. The boiling water incident alone proves just how quickly things can go sideways. That officer could have been blinded or worse. So what happens next? Well, as it stands, all eight suspects are sitting in police custody. The CPS, Crown Prosecution Service, will eventually decide whether charges will be brought against them.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I and, for his part, seems determined to carry on like nothing happened. He's been posting clips of himself in the studio, smoking cigars, and captioning videos with stuff like, They Can't Touch Me. I'm still the King, that's only adding fuel to the fire, by the way. Some commenters are cheering him on, saying he's being unfairly targeted. Others are doubling down on their hatred, insisting he's guilty as sin and somehow got away with it. It's a mess, and it's probably going to get Messier before it's all said and done. But here's the thing, whether you love King Femmy III or think he's the villain of the story, one thing's clear, death threats aren't the answer.
Starting point is 00:06:32 And trying to cook cops alive with boiling water. Definitely not the move. As for Ion's new track. It's already climbing Spotify charts. Some say that proves he's untouchable. Others argue it's a sad reflection of our culture, that controversy sells, even when lives are at stake. Only time will tell how this one plays out. But for now, one thing certain, England's rap scene has never been messier, angrier, or louder.
Starting point is 00:07:03 The end, or maybe just the beginning.
