Starting point is 00:00:00 August 2024, a chilling plot uncovered. You ever hear a story so messed up it sounds like it came straight out of a horror movie. Well, buckle up, because this one is absolutely insane. In August 2024, the whole country was rocked when it came out that MI5 and the National Crime Agency, NCAA, yeah, the big guns, had stopped what they described as a deranged black man's plot to kill a 14-year-old schoolboy, were his skin and steal his identity. I wish I was joking. The man at the center of this nightmare is an 18-year-old named Amaleo Adebao.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Born in Dover, Kent, Amalayao didn't exactly have the easiest life growing up. People said he was quiet, kept to himself a lot, and never really fit in anywhere. But no one could have predicted the madness brewing inside him. Here's something even stranger about him. he suffered from a rare skin condition, hyperpigmentation, that made his skin turn extremely dark at random intervals. It wasn't life-threatening, but it did make him stand out. He hated it. People close to him later said he was obsessed with his appearance and talked about fixing his skin tone for years. At some point, that obsession turned toxic. Before his arrest, Amaleo had bought sketchy, high-strength skin bleaching solutions online. These weren't your over-the-counter lotions, they were dangerous chemicals imported from South Korea and China.
Starting point is 00:01:31 He planned to use them to lighten his skin dramatically. Why? Because he wanted to pass as someone else entirely. And this is where things spiral from weird to absolutely horrifying. The festival encounter, apparently, Amalayao didn't just want to look different. He wanted to become someone else. Somewhere along the line, he started targeting a lot of. a specific boy, a 14-year-old from Schuberines, Essex. It all began when they met at a music festival earlier that summer. The boy, whose name hasn't been released, thank God, wasn't even
Starting point is 00:02:08 supposed to be there. He'd used a fake ID to buy a ticket and slipped past security like plenty of kids do. For him, it was probably just an adventure. For Amaleo, it was the beginning of a twisted plan. Witnesses later said the two seemed to hit it off at the festival. Maybe it looked innocent from the outside, a teenager making friends with an older guy, but Amaleo's intentions were anything but innocent. After the festival, they stayed in contact online. Amalayao played the long game, building trust with the boy. They talked almost every day. Messages recovered by investigators later revealed that Amalayao had even led the teenager to believe they'd be hooking up when they met again. That was part of
Starting point is 00:02:55 trap. The deadly plan, fast forward a few weeks, and Amaleo arranged to meet the boy in Shubarenes. But here's the thing, he didn't just want to kill the boy. He had this deranged idea to skin him and literally wear his flesh so he could assume his identity. Yeah. Let that sink in. To make it happen, Amaleo had gone deep into the criminal underworld. Somehow, he got his hands on a Beretta 85F pistol from a Serbian gang. He also obtained a bottle of chloroform, probably to knock the boy out before carrying out the Grizzly Act. And if that wasn't enough, police later found detailed notes and diagrams showing how he planned to cut and preserve the boy's skin. He wasn't just going to dump the body
Starting point is 00:03:41 in the woods or something. Oh no, Amaleo planned to throw it off the Essex coast so it would never be found. The intervention. Thankfully, the authorities were already onto him. It turns out Amalayo had confided parts of his plan to someone he thought was a friend. That friend went straight to the police. M.I. 5 and the NCA took over from there, treating it as an imminent threat. On the day Amalayao planned to lure the boy, officers from Norfolk constabulary and armed police swooped in. He was arrested in Norwich, just as he was preparing to head toward London. When they searched him, they didn't just find the gun and the chloroform. They also found 170 grams of cocaine hydrochloride and nearly 16 grams of crystal meth. This guy wasn't just a
Starting point is 00:04:31 potential murderer, he was also knee-deep in drugs. The charges. Now, Amaleo faces a laundry list of charges. Conspiracy to commit murder. Conspiracy to commit fraud, because of the planned identity theft, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of Class A drugs, he's currently awaiting trial in Norwich Crown Court. The trial is set for October 24. If convicted, he's looking at a lifetime behind bars. The fallout, when the news broke, people were horrified. Parents in Schuberiness were especially shaken. One mother said, that poor boy could have been any of our children. It's terrifying to think someone could be that evil. Others focused on Amalayao's background. How does an 18-year-old end up plotting something so monstrous?
Starting point is 00:05:22 Was it his mental health? His obsession with skin color? Or just pure evil? Investigators are still digging into his life, trying to figure out what pushed him over the edge. A chilling reminder. This case is a grim reminder that predators don't always look like monsters. To some, Amaleo probably seemed like just another awkward young man. But behind closed doors, he was harboring thoughts so dark most of us can't even comprehend them. Epilogue, what's next? As October approaches, all eyes will be on Norwich Crown Court.
Starting point is 00:05:59 People want answers. Why this boy? Why this plan? And how far would Amalayao have gone if no one had stepped in? We'll find out soon enough. The end.
