allegations uh kind of an updated allegation it's new and it's updated it's from um a woman who was in some of the reporting we've talked about previously um jenny rassicott i believe that's how it's pronounced she was originally mentioned in the uh reporting that focused that focused on a different woman. There was a lot of hubbub about how she's like a Republican operative and sort of became about that and how the story came about. In that original reporting terms of Rassikot, Lifelong Democrat from Maine told the paper that she ended her relationship with Platiner after he arrived at her home drunk,

despite her telling him not to come over. And that was the original sort of like the general claim that was not, again, not heavily featured and sort of dismissed as like, oh, he like showing. up drunk when she told him not to, that's like nothing. It does indicate some boundary issues and inability to hear a no. And perhaps there was more to that story. And turns out there was more. And that is what this reporting is about. It's about that incident. So, yeah, from political, I'll just expound on what, expound, expand, either way, on what Cody just set up, you know, a woman who dated Maine U.S. Senate candidate, Graham Platner,

says he forced her to have sex with him nearly five years ago, despite her repeated objections. An allegation Platner denies. Rassico said she had an on and off relationship with Platner, who is now the Democratic Senate nominee for Maine, for more than two years before he entered her rural Maine home uninvited one night in late 2021, deeply intoxicated, and forced himself on her while she repeatedly told him to stop. She said she cut off contact with him after telling him the encounter was not consensual. I remember him grabbing my pelvis and being really forceful. of me. She said, I remember the specific moment where I thought to myself like, this is no longer my choice.

That is rape. Apparently, she has sat for a series of interviews with political. So I think this is about three different interviews over a few different weeks, putting this story together. So more will come out, as I already said, between the time of this recording and between when you watch this. It feels like the past year and a half, we have been in a position to defend Grand Platiner over and over and over again, despite the feeling in my stomach of this doesn't sound good, this isn't great, there's a lot of red flags. This isn't somebody that I would want anybody I know to date or be involved with, it seems, despite it's tough because obviously we really support his politics and the message that he has, from. promoting and are impressed by the ground swell of support that he has seen. You want to back up a candidate that is full throttle going for this sharing the same values that we do. But he does not share the same values as us. I mean, yeah. And this is, I mean, you know, we don't need to go back in time too much or relitigate everything. But like, these are these, this is related to the other red flags. This is related to the violent history, the sort of the praising of violence and the enjoyment of violence and the callousness with which he would talk about women sometimes and about boundaries and things like that.

A lot has happened in his past that he has owned up to and admitted in the time that he has served. and all of his posts online. And he's been very vocal about his mental health journey and substances and all of that. And hopefully he is on a path to healing to improve some of his darkest impulses. But does that mean that that should be an elected member of our party? I feel very frustrated by this because obviously everybody on his team, team has known, I would assume, the complexity of his past. I mean, I guess yes or no, he knew. I mean, well, he knew. And it's either they did know and thought it would be no big deal or didn't

know, didn't know the details and kind of, you know, overlooked it. Or they didn't know, like, you know, there's not a great sort of personal oppo operation going on. Like, they should have, they should have known if they didn't, that's incompetence and if they did the different kind of incompetence. But it's also unclear. He is so far, again, this is going to come out in the future to us, so he will probably have dropped out by then. We don't know. He has denied the specific allegation, although he, in his statement, he seemed to be taking it seriously in a way that incorporates how people perceive it while also denying it and sort of implying he might drop out just like for like because it looks bad but without owning up to the accusation it's sort of

unclear what he will be doing but uh there is time to uh to something we'll see uh until the 13th of july yes so according to the guardian uh should democrats decide to replace platinum as the party's nominee in the main Senate race. Plattner would have to drop out by 5 p.m. Eastern time on July 13th, according to state law. The Democratic Party will then have a two-week window until July 27th to select a replacement candidate. So it's now or never, bud. I mean, it's pretty clear that it's going to be now. I mean, he's, you know, leading up to, leading up to the real. Yeah, it is. I mean, No, I mean, just the way it goes.

It's not a Cody. People at home may not realize how anti-Gram Platner, Cody has been. Not anti, but at no point have you walked away from your own moral perspective that we could have a better candidate than this. Yes. That it's disappointing. Yes, it's wonderful to see somebody that has the ability to reach across the aisle and communicate with people in a way that is authentic.

and spreads the message that we all share, but can't we find somebody else that does not have. It shouldn't be so hard. It shouldn't have, it shouldn't have had, exactly. It shouldn't have had to be this one guy. The fact that it's like, oh, we finally found a guy who's got like the gruff look that we're looking for who says the like, you know, the four or five things that we want them to say.

It was just like, I guess it's got to be this guy. Even though it doesn't have to be. I'm disappointed. I know. And that's the thing. I don't want to be, I don't want to, like, it is disappointing that he turned out to be this person. It's disappointing that we're in this position once again. I believe very strongly in having candidates like him, minus the problematic elements,

that are able to kind of transcend all the political noise, all of the bullshit, and relate to people because I desperately think we need it. I desperately think this country needs people like that. Well, and like real people like warts and all, like all that kind of stuff. But there's a there's a certain point where it's like we can't. That's not. Look, if it was reversed, where there's smoke is fire. That's not like flaws.

That's something a lot deeper. This could be some sort of operation. Yes, maybe the Democratic establishment is. or any establishment is trying to, you know, throw them under the bus. But there's been so many things. And I just couldn't stand it. I still can't stand it in terms of Donald Trump. But in 2016, what I kept coming back to was despite your politics, despite you being a fiscal conservative or however you want to identify, don't you care that this is a rapist?

And it's heartbreaking to me. Shouldn't you care? And a lot of people didn't. But to me, that's like in my core, that's a fucking no. And I know that there's lots of rapists elected. I know that so many of them probably that already have offices that have held it for decades, probably have so many skeletons in those closets. I know that Ken Paxton is worse.

You know, like, but does that mean that we support this guy? We still got time. Yeah, we still have time. And it's, you know, now's the time. And it does seem like that's going to happen. And I did want to sort of read, like, this is, you know, it's not just that there's more details. It is seemingly corroborated in a lot of ways.

And it does just describe rape, is the description. and there's this here's this text, there's this message that was sent about two years ago, well, two years before he started running for Senate. He can be charming and funny and he's a decently intelligent person. He's not all bad, but I ended up in a bad situation with him

and I will just very politely call him consensually careless at times. I know so many men who fit that bill. And it's how it's describes, like, well, this is like the nice way to say it. But we know it's being said there. Yeah, and from what I understand, Jenny Rassico has felt a lot of turmoil and indecision or conflicting emotions in this moment of time because she respects his politics and certainly wants what's best for her state and for this country. And yet her rapist is out there denying his past.

And I mean, that's a really tricky, that's a tricky impossible thing. Yeah, you don't want Collins to be elected. But also like, and then as it gets closer, then what else is going to come out? Because again, as we've said, the few times we've covered this aspect of the race, okay, well, what's next? Right. This, you know, even from like the Nazi tattoo, despite the fact that he hasn't like, there's no, there's no like online trail of him being like, yeah, like, not.

or whatever, that is a sign like, okay, well, that's a sign of poor judgment. What other signs of this sort of poor judgment or things like that? Obviously, this accusation is way, way, way beyond poor judgment. But, you know, if this is true, then, well, when the actual general election happens, then what else, then what else, then what else? And then you're like, okay, well, Collins is now winning that election. So maybe say something now in order for this July 13th deadline. Then you have a couple weeks to find somebody in the same realm who people can get behind. And it's not like necessarily like, I've heard a lot of comparisons of like, oh, it's like Biden and Harris. Once again, it's not quite the same. It's not four years of baggage. It's not all this sort of stuff. We don't even know who this other person would be. There are some names. floating around from like the governor's race and so on. It's not the same. It is risky, but it's not the same, I would say.

So we will see how this develops. For now, we're going to back things up and talk about our embarrassing Freedom 250 party. Just briefly. I think we're all over Fourth of July. Yeah, it's just like the whole thing is really silly and stupid. And we've talked about it a little bit. and we didn't get to the actual weekend. And I just, like, leading up to it,

there's so much about the sort of corruption around it. And this other fund that Congress had gotten together for, I want to say, $150 million in 2016. What a bad year that was. And how that has been transferred to this new Freedom 250 thing. And Trump has used his influence to get people to sponsor it and other, went to other nations. They didn't necessarily know what they were like giving money to.

They thought it was this America 250. Turns out to be Freedom 250. All this money being moved around while Trump is like promoting certain businesses and buying stock and doing all this market manipulation for these companies who are donating to them. It's all a big mess. And more power to the Democrats who are talking about it and going to actually investigate it. It does seem like it's at the very least wire fraud for this stupid celebration that was supposed to be. a uniting thing for everybody to come together and be like, ah, blah, blah, blah, eat your bear claw and all that kind of stuff. And he turned it into, no, it's my birthday. I'm the king of the world. So we're going to celebrate me.

I'm going to put my name on everything. And nobody showed up for so long. Fox News was out there all week with like the good seat. We got the good view. Look, we can see the thing behind us. And there was nobody the entire time. They're talking about how great it is. And then Trump gets up there and just talks about. communism the whole fucking time and how we need to stop the like Democrats from stealing the election with the SAVE Act and all the sort of stuff. America will never be a communist country won't happen. Communism is a loser and it always will be. The communist system is the opposite of the American system and the communist

system has never worked. Our warriors did not fight communism on battlefields across the world only to have that menace rear its ugly head right back here in America. We're not going to let it happen. I wanted to talk about was just all the all the communism stuff going on all this like underlying stuff whether it's online or at the event Elon Musk is joining in just sort of if you have criticism of America or you think maybe our economy could be run a little differently or maybe this isn't optimal for for everybody, then you're a traitor and you need to be exiled is

the idea now. Cody's referencing his July 3rd speech at Mount Rushmore now. So much happened. There's been so many speeches, so many, this conversation, they're clearly They can look around the country and we've talked about this a lot lately. You can look around the country

and see the saliency of, you know, the DSA, of progressive candidates really gaining ground. Yes, Grand Platner. But Abdul al-Sayed is poised to take it. You know, in New York, this is all so encouraging. And what can they do?

They're so freaked out by it. Then they recognize that that's the real threat, not the democratic establishment. It's the people that actually have a message that are resonating with the population. And so, of course, this. unifying celebration, what was supposed to be a unifying celebration of our country and all the good it's done, I guess.

Yeah, America's got some really bad shit, but whatever. It has just been about the specter of communism and socialism, and it's like, it's so boring. And it's also just so hack. Well, it is hack, it is boring. I don't think it resonates with most people except for, you know, the boomers and Gen Xers who support Donald Trump specifically. And it does indicate, you know, they know, they know the position they're in. They know that this sort of like bubbling up and this sort of anti-elite sort of populist general

movement that they have tried to harness for themselves and manipulate and gnarle into whatever it is. There is this movement that does threaten to some extent capital and their position. and well, what does capitalism do when it's in crisis? Well, it leans towards a fascistic movement and these ideas where you can mythologize about an old past that never really happened and try to hold on to what you have. And that is obviously what they've been doing for a long time. They're very explicit about it nowadays because they have more examples of it, Katie,

like you're pointing out, even the social Democrats, even standard like, left of center libs are all evil communists now, which we've talked about at length, because that's what they have to do. It doesn't help their case that when Trump is out there being like, we got to exile these traitors and these commies. He's also talking about how handsome and charming Mamdani is. His favorite guy in the country is an evil communist. We have to exile. So that's a little absurd. We'll vanquish communism quickly. Don't let them take too much of your

time. You know they're wasting your time, don't you? But we're not going to let them take too long or too much of our time as they play their games and send them into exile. We will send them quickly away and we will continue to build our country

bigger and better, stronger than ever before. America will never be a communist country. But on the other side, you also have the richest man on the planet, literally the richest man on the planet, who again sees that capital is being threatened and so must lean into maybe a bit of a, uh, Hitlerian approach to politics, um, to the point where he's doing Nazi salutes twice in front of everybody is now on the website that he owns, that he bought so he could spread his right-wing propaganda and make his little, robot slave talk about, you know, white genocide in South Africa, which his family originally moved to because they supported apartheid, to be clear, that's why they moved there. He's out there once again talking about, you know, all the communists and the traitors.

The phrase, I believe they're now implementing is something along the lines of, like, in, the traitors go before. Traders before invaders. Traders before invaders. Perfect. It rhymes. It's so perfect. Excellent. Traders before invaders. We're deal with traders first. Then invaders. He's done it a few times now. Then a few times. Talks about all the time. The enemy within, uh, uh, obviously he hates the NPCs who were unthinking whatever's and they got to go too. But the traders need to go. We need to internally cleanse the traitors from our midst. I don't know how exactly. He doesn't say explicitly what he wants to do.

Well, they're already doing it with all of those people that got arrested on terrorism charges, domestic terrorism charges for 70 years. Oh, I thought you were talking about the reflecting pool. But yes, no, the real one. But the more serious one, yes, the act like the protesters. Chilling that over the last couple weeks, we've got several examples. And he has just been once again just on a little tear. He loves to reply to his little Nazi followers.

He loves to boost his little Nazi followers. He has now basically supported not letting certain people vote pretty blatantly. Just like, I don't think most people should vote. Obviously, he thinks that those who don't love America, those who are disloyal should be exiled immediately. He's said anyone who doesn't love. love America is a traitor and beneath contempt. So if you don't love America, you're a traitor beneath contempt. You need to be exiled.

Which I guess applies to anybody critical of America. But he also is responding now. He's saying, he's like talking about mom Donnie. The taker never a maker discourse. He's a taker, is never a maker, blah, blah, blah. And that the takers shouldn't vote. Yes. Someone replied to the, or quote tweeted this. Elon, this is the moment.

where you're supposed to wise up and abandon classical liberalism. If you let takers vote, they will not only take more and more, they will make it more and more rewarding to be a taker. And they will convert more and more makers into takers forever until the makers cannot carry the takers anymore. Universal suffrage leads to universal suffering. Again, great wordplay really, really gets under your again. And Elon replied, I have wise up.

admitting that he thinks universal suffrage leads to universal suffering, which means that whatever his definition of takers is, pretty fashy, very explicitly saying, I don't think everybody should have the right to vote. And the people who should have the right to vote are the makers, which I will be able to determine. So the corporations can't, yes. The takers who, I don't know, are workers who get paid or maybe workers who want to like unionize or something like that.

Anybody who criticizes America, people that want health insurance, people who maybe again have criticisms of aspects of the current economic system, those are the takers and he is the arbiter of who's a taker and who's a maker. And they shouldn't get to vote. He is. I think he's the taker. I would agree with that.

He's a bit of a parasitic approach. He literally has taken everything that he's pretended to make. Takes everybody's ideas and then passes him off. And then takes everybody's money. He's the richest man in the world. And he's explicitly 100% just anti-democracy. He is finally, I say this all the time. He's finally admitted it.

And he admits it all the time. He sucks. We hate him. It's depressing. You know what else is depressing. What's that? Patriot Front decided to organize in March through D.C. over this weekend, you know, they don't seem to care about that.

Because today, at the time of this recording, America will be, the USA will be playing and they'll either win or they'll lose and maybe we'll have moved on. By the time that this is up, America will have either won. Yeah. Or lost. Yeah.

Whatever. You were like, you didn't have to half cheer. Don't cheer. It's fine. We won or lost. What happened is that FIFA, first of all, we've talked about this before, a famously corrupt organization. Like just a corrupt organization. FIFA is very corrupt. Creator of the FIFA Peace Prize. The FIFA Peace Prize, which has gone to our beautiful soccer-loving president Donald Trump. He loves his soccer. One of the U.S. star players, Florin Baligan, received a red card during the last game. The last game. Against. And I'm told that it was bad and it was bad, it was a bad red card. Well, yeah, I'm going to jump in and that it does genuinely sound like he shouldn't have gotten a card.

That's the situation that it was a bad call. And lots of people have gotten red cards. Yes, yes. Rinaldo got a red card and was allowed to continue playing. They postponed the suspension for the World Cup. and it seems like that particular red card was like, no, that was that was like legitimate. That was a valid one. But I mean that there have been other red cards that didn't get suspended during the world.

Yes. That is correct. So bad red card on the United States is star player. And so the infamously corrupt president of the United States called the infamously corrupt FIFA organization and got them to. postpone the suspension of this red card for this game. And I don't know, that's like kind of like, that's what it is. Maybe I just have TDS, but I think it's bad that our bad president calls the bad FIFA and gets them to just overturn this ruling.

Oh, I thought you meant trust decisions of soccer. Oh. You're talking about a different TDS. I'm sorry. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, yeah. You mean Trump is bad.

You mean you think Trump is bad and thinks he does are usually bad? Well, they both. Maybe I have Trump Drenchment Syndrome and trust decisions of soccer syndrome. It's all a big mess. We all are struggling with our mental health these folks. Yes, yes, yes. Regardless, it's pretty embarrassing that our president just goes and, and, uh, for a sport he definitely doesn't care about,

but he probably just cannot stomach the thought of America losing. Yeah, well, yeah, well, we're winners. Especially what's our big weekend. It's our big weekend. It was our big weekend. And now we're like, we're riding that high of being like stormed out of the celebration and nobody coming to our festival.

So we got to win. And so that's going on. And that is just, again, this sort of like very obvious like example of corruption from, again, the corrupt president of the United States and the corrupt FIFA organization. But the thing, well, the thing that's like, the thing about this. The thing about this is...

This particular player, Balagan, oh, yeah. Was born in America to two parents who weren't American citizens. So you're telling me he's here because of birthright citizenship? Yes. The thing that he doesn't want, Donaldsonson. The thing that he hates,

the thing that he hates, the thing that, his entire political movement is against and wants to amend the Constitution to get rid of, or make a new law and then send it back to the Supreme Court or whatever. Who knows what their plan is going to be? But they hate this, and they hate immigrants, and they hate the idea of immigrants who are not citizens of this country being here and having a child, and then that child being, for example on our fucking like football team um it's like really really absurd and at a certain point it's like yeah we get it the hypocrisy the hypocrisy the hypocrisy the hypocrisy i know but it sucks

and it's it's it's it's it's just an example of this evil that is like permeating throughout his body and body politic and all of it such an example of uh the good old fashioned american dream at at least as it has been sold to me of, you know, come here. Have a new life. Be a citizen. We welcome you. We want you to thrive. We want you to bring your talent and your skills and be American.

We celebrate diversity. And, you know, you can become a star football player, soccer player. Yeah, you can. Football. But there is no acknowledgement from their camp of. this is an example of the system working of birthright citizenship

of how no it doesn't matter it doesn't matter they'll just pretend they don't even want to acknowledge that part of it it is pretty ridiculous I do feel like part of this decision is probably financial

because also with Ronaldo and Valagan they're star players and there's controversy around this and that's the eyeballs our money viewership his money, all of that. I like to think that the American team could have pulled it off without him,

but now they don't have to find out. Yeah. So we assume we're just from the past. We couldn't possibly. We'll never know. You'll know. It'll be on screen maybe, but we'll never know. I do want to grant us some grace in terms of not really knowing much about the sport.

I think we did a really good job. I think we did a great job. I do. But I actually wanted to read this quote from the president of the United States. We were talking about him earlier. He's famously corrupt. Oh, that guy, right. That guy.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the famously corrupt president of the United States. I wanted to read this quote, which is just, you know, it's good to laugh. Quote, I saw the play, and I'm a person that loves sports. That wasn't a foul. That wasn't even an infraction. This referee, who was a little bit suspect, if you check his past. He made a call that nobody could believe. He's our best player, or one of our best players, and he gave him a red card?

I didn't know what that meant. Yes, I asked for review by FIFA. So I just took my time there, but I'll just highlight the two phrases that I think are beautiful. I saw that play, and I'm a person that loves sports. That wasn't a foul. Dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot. he gave him a red card. I didn't know what that meant.

So do you love sports or do you not know what a red card means? I don't know what you're saying, man. I don't know what you want to believe in terms of your appreciation of the sport, soccer. But I don't believe you. I will be honest.
