Hi, on today's episode, we talk about the big Trump speech where you already know what he said, but we don't.
The latest on ice, testosterone treatment in the military, and J.D. Vance on Joe Rogan.
Hello, welcome back to Even More News, the first and only news podcast. I'm Katie Stoll.
Yes, you are. Katie Stoll. Welcome to you. And everybody else. Hi, I'm Cody.
is the name that I'm saying.
Cody is the name that he is saying.
And we are very excited to introduce a new guest, a first time guest.
She's a writer, comedian, and co-host of the podcast, The Moment Live.
It's Meredith Lynch.
Thank you for having me.
I'm so excited to be here.
We're excited to have you here, Meredith.
Otherwise, it'd just be me and these two dudes.
Sorry.
I'm here to balance it out a little bit.
Oh, before people bite my head off, Jonathan is also here.
Hi, one of the dudes.
One of the two dudes.
What can you do?
What can you do?
What can you do?
Well, you can invite someone like Meredith on the show to join us.
Meredith, how's it going?
You're in Los Angeles.
It's hot.
How hot is it in L.A. right now, everybody?
I'm not currently there.
It's pretty hot.
Seat advisory hot.
Give me a number.
Yeah.
It's pretty hot.
89.
I live on the west side.
So it's a little cooler.
Oh.
Okay.
That west side breeze.
All right.
I bet it's so,
oh,
I bet that breeze is so nice.
It is.
I know.
I literally just put the air on to do this
because I was like,
oh,
I don't want the outside noise.
I know,
it is.
I used to live on the west side
and every summer is like,
it's wonderful.
What a beautiful summer we have.
Why doesn't everyone live here?
It's so nice all the time.
I just found it hard to leave.
What's my rent?
Oh, yeah.
The rent.
That's why.
That's why. So, yeah, we're recording Thursday afternoon by the time this comes out. You will know what Trump said in his live Thursday night address, but presumably he's going to ramble semi-coherently about a bunch of topics, but also specifically about elections, how he thinks American elections that he doesn't win are fraudulent. And CBS News has reported that he is going to reveal something about Chinese meddling in U.S. elections or compromising.
voter data, really unclear what this is because we have known about a bunch of the China's influence
to influence elections here in the past. And his current head of the CIA, John Ratcliffe,
was his director of national intelligence during the last year of his first term and received
briefings about all of this. So if Trump is going to go out there and say, the CIA kept
from me, he will be pointing the finger at someone who is currently the head of the CIA.
This is what is so confusing about the whole conversation that apparently they're going to be
having tonight is he was an office. He was the president during this stolen 2020.
For people listening, I have big old air quotes around the stolen election. And it's just
so blatant. It's so blatant of an attempt to.
to just strong arm us into whatever reality he wants us to have here.
We're going to find out tonight.
I do want to call out.
We'll get to probably more JD fan stuff a little later.
But I did want to mention in the context of like foreign influence and so on and so forth.
He did say yesterday on the Joe Rogan show.
I don't even mind an effort to try to influence, you know, foreign governments try to influence the United States all the time.
you know, Israel does it, other countries do it.
It's just sort of the nature of the beast.
So whatever Trump says tonight, I guess we don't have to care about it anyway.
But yes, we will see what it is that he actually will try to suggest tonight.
Jonathan has done a good job calling some of my fears by laying out what it is that he really can't do
in our doc here.
So I'm going to let Jonathan handle that.
I do.
And I want to go to this John Ossoff clip with Jay Clinton.
late in yesterday that touches on this and react to that.
We've mentioned it.
We mentioned it a lot of times.
He will say that he's got a big announcement.
He'll say he's going to do this.
He's going to do this.
And then he just sort of talks about whatever he wants to talk about, his accomplishments or like,
quote unquote accomplishments, whatever, like praising him and what he's done.
And that is what it is.
I expect that to be most of it regardless.
But as has been, I'm sure, explained to him by the people around him.
He can't go, I hereby cancel elections until we figure out what's going.
on. Can't do that. He can't force individual states to follow his Save Act rules. He can't put
the Save Act through by executive order. He can say he's doing that, but like, the lawsuits are
still working. He's lost 15 district court cases over trying to get state voter rolls so far. He just
keeps losing them. And I know those go to appeals courts in the Supreme Court and all that stuff.
But, like, at the moment, he's just losing all of that stuff. And he can't say the senators from Georgia
are illegitimate and remove them from the Senate.
He really wants to, though.
He wants to.
Maybe he'll say it.
So speaking of John Ossoff, a guy you're going to see a lot over the next few years as he runs for president and what have you.
But this is Jay Clayton, who is trying to become the full-time director of national intelligence.
Right now, that's Bill Pulte, the Mortgage guy.
We've talked about him.
Who won the 2020 election?
I'm not going to do this with you.
This is a job interview.
We've established that you have an obligation to be honest and forthright with the committee.
Yes, you do have an obligation to be honest and forthright with the committee.
Yes.
Who won the 2020 election?
Like I said, I'm not going to get into that with you.
But you do have an obligation to be honest and forthright with the committee.
Is anything that I just said not honest or forthright?
Yes, you're not being honest or forthright.
Who won the 2020 election?
I think I've answered the question.
We can keep doing this.
Then answer the question.
Who won the 2020 election?
I have answered the question.
Answer it.
What is your answer?
I've given you my answer.
What is your answer?
Isn't it humiliating to be unable to answer this question?
To have to indulge the president's delusions?
We know, you know, everybody in this room knows the truthful answer to that question.
Why can you not?
give it. I think I gave you the answer. It is so frustrating to watch him on the stand do this.
One thing that I haven't seen people point out, when Alsop says this is a job interview,
his reaction, he cuts himself off, but he's about to say like, what? It's interesting job
interview or whatever he's about to say because he knows it's like, this isn't a fucking
job interview. I've got the votes. They're all in the president's pocket. It doesn't matter what
you ask me was the energy from him.
Here's my question.
Is it getting to the point now where we ask these people about the 2020 election just
so we can maybe get a viral C-SPAN clip?
Oh, yeah.
I mean, yes.
That is.
You know, like, I'm like, you guys, no one's no one unless you want to lose, you know,
if you're a Republican, if you want to lose whatever opportunity you have is going to go,
you know what?
I do think that Joe Biden won, fair and square.
I just, I just feel like at this point, John Ossif is like,
looking for clickable moments. And the deal is he's not that clickable. So I think this was like a
really interesting way to throw a question that he knew he would get like the moment from. And I think
that's just something to think about as we watch these, you know, Democrat or Republican. I agree
with you. That's what this is. That's what these hearings are. Because we usually mostly know how they're
going to vote except for a few things. But I do think the tactic of saying,
aren't you humiliated doing this?
That's the relevant part.
I think very targeted and good because that's why they do.
Like, right?
We know you're in a bind.
You know the answer to the question.
You can't say Joe Biden won because there's one guy who might watch this.
He might not.
There's one guy who might watch this who'll be really mad at you if you say anything.
I mean, he's probably mad that he didn't say Donald Trump won the 2020 election.
And none of them do because they know they can't that that's wrong.
They can't say that.
Yeah, exactly.
But I think just like, oh, this is.
pathetic and humiliating and I feel like they, I want to see their faces when they're being told
it's humiliating. That was the part for me that was like, oh, there we go, finally. Because you don't
really see that much. You do see a lot of the back and forth, like I'm asking you the question,
you're answering it. Okay, moving on, I guess. And that's a separate sort of category. But outright
saying, like, do you feel shame? Are you ever embarrassed by the situation that you find yourself in?
I do think there's some value there. And I do find, I do find. I do find.
him he kept his he kept a very cool energy he didn't like he yeah he was just very very steady
the whole time which i think is helpful too but um especially when you're dealing with like petulant
children type yeah i i i agree this is the launch of his campaign like this is what he's doing
we live in a clip economy and it everybody is especially if you are throwing your hat into the ring
and running for the big office or any kind of office.
You want to try to get traction online in any way possible.
And there is a value to, yes, having somebody squirm and have video evidence of them not being able to answer a question.
I mean, there is a value, not that it changes things in terms of how Republicans are going to vote.
They're going to confirm him regardless.
That's why when Aesoff says,
this is a job interview and the guy smirks and stops himself from having some sort of little sarcastic response,
it's because he knows that he does not need to convince Ossov, but Ossoff is getting a clip.
But yeah, it's a, it's, I, whenever I see stuff like this and this one in particular, I do feel that that sort of torn like, oh, good for him.
But then like, what does it do?
Yeah.
It embarrasses that.
It's fine.
It's not a dislike thing.
It's just like, hey, you know, okay.
that's your little moment. I guess here's my question to you guys. What percentage of Trump voters from
24 do you think believe that Trump won the 2020 election? If you had to ballpark it.
Do you believe he won 2020? They think he won in 2020. Maybe 30 percent. I'd say like 30 to 50
probably. I wouldn't go quite as high as 50 because I know a lot of people were swing voters and
we're just like I don't like paying a lot of money for the sandwich. But I know what
What is it, like 60% of 50% to 60% of Republicans.
So it's probably close to 50%, I would think.
Do you know the answer, Meredith?
No.
I don't know.
I'm just spitballing.
Because I saw a lot of Trump voters.
And only two of them have I seen go to bat for that for 2020.
Right.
Because it's such an insane talking point that I do think that it's something that if people are a little bit more easily swayed, right?
That if they keep hearing it, they're going to be like, Jesus.
Christ. Like, first of all, you're wasting my time. And no, I don't believe it. So I think that's one of the things, too. Like, there's the things that I think that not even MAGA, but Republicans will get on board with pretty easily. But I think this is one of those things where it's like, God damn it. I cannot believe that six years later, we are still having this conversation. And they're about to have that conversation even more because the president is going to speak to it.
Well, right. And, yeah. So that's part of it. I do think it's important.
as where, you know, I would prefer the director of national intelligence to not believe that the
2020 election was stolen. That's the thing is that I like, you know, 20 to 40, 50, you know,
whatever percentage of Trump voters do like, yes, that he's, it was stolen from him. He's our guy.
The Democrats need to all go to prison and that like those people exist. This guy and most people
who are like doing the punditry and out there and talking.
about it, do not believe it. They know that it's not true. And that's that's so much of the problem where
like he knows the answer to that. He's not he knows you're not allowed to say it. The people who are
watching who do believe it see that like, oh yeah, you're standing by our guy. And so it's just this like
this it's a problem that none of them, none of them believe it except for maybe Donald Trump himself.
And then everybody else below does. You can kind of feel that in the Rogan Vance conversation when
Joe Rogan brings up the L.A. primaries,
it's clear that Joe Rogan believes they were stolen
because blah, blah, blah, blah.
He's very mad about it, yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
He wasn't even go here.
Well, he moved away from here.
Yeah, he doesn't even go to school here.
But, and then Vance, you can tell is indulging him a little bit,
and you can tell Vance does not believe it,
because Vance knows the elections are fine.
Yes, they all know.
They all know.
You see it in, there's even debates with, like,
like Dinesh D'Souza is obviously like just a professional propagandist and the liar.
And he's made documentaries that he's had to like redact like so many things about the lies.
He's told about the election.
But when they're confronted with the actual like facts and the questions, they do crumble.
They can't really support the idea.
So they have to go on friendly media and or avoid the question entirely.
Which is like, again, perceived by the base as loyalty and.
And truth when what it is is avoiding making the guy mad.
Yeah, I guess I would prefer Jay Clayton be the DNI to Bill Pulte because Bill Pulte does believe it and is really digging in and is the one egging Trump on to say all this election stuff.
Again, the mortgage guy who's not qualified to even do that.
I mean, to be fair, none of these people are qualified for any of their jobs.
There was reporting in Politico today that so many of these Republicans in leadership are so mad that Trump's going to do this and not talking.
about the economy. That's what he needs to talk about. He needs to talk about how he's making the
economy better and the Trump accounts. I don't doubt that they believe it, but they're also just
leaking that so that can be like, you know, we're the adults taking care of this thing. Don't worry.
Once he's gone, we're going to be good again. Like, it's all just that. Vance does a lot of that
too. I know we're, I'm really getting ahead of myself by talking about this Vance on Rogan thing.
He's really annoying. He's really annoying. He's really annoying liar. It's really frustrated.
I wanted to give some ICE updates because they're, they're in a real spot. The
days because they have this directive to arrest 2,000 people a day but in order to
hit those numbers they've got to like drag people out of cars and do and murder
people occasionally and do all that stuff and go to like you know citizen like
hearings and stuff immigration hearings and go to like oh yeah all kinds of
stuff that takes a lot of work but the administration ideally would like them to
do this without the murder because the murder looks bad when they kill people
that they weren't even looking for not that it Matt would matter if they were
so after there were two murders in a week
ICE directed agents to put traffic stops on hold
because you could just arrest someone after they get where they're going
or before they leave and they don't want to do that
because they're adrenaline junkies as one of them says
and then less than 24 hours later Trump posted to Truth Social
telling them not to stop doing that to keep doing the traffic stops
which surprised ICE leadership because they said
they said the opposite thing and so now these people are
Just like, I mean, they were already kind of off the leash and running rampant.
And now they're doing that with no clear order of like what to do.
Butter chaos.
So they're adding chaos to the order.
Yes.
That's good.
Great.
And that's really bad for a number of reasons.
And I wanted to highlight that the ice shooter in Maine who killed Joanne Sebastian Guerrero
earlier this week, he apparently called his ex-wife.
and asked his ex-wife to, you know, say nice, if the media contacts you, because I'm the guy who did it, say nice things about me.
And then the wife immediately said, uh, no, and went to the press and talked about how he's abusive and how she reported concerns about him to his superiors when he was in the military and how he's not a good guy.
Are you suggesting that ICE has made up a lot of, like, angry divorced guys?
The new ICE members, especially, I think that we've moved past that in our,
collective memory of how recently so many of these people were hired and in fact just
hire anybody kind of vibes well also welcome here signing bonuses a lot of desperate benefits
and also the promise that they can do this kind of stuff you can go harass people that you
don't like for your job right so in terms of the the car chases you know people that are
seasoned law enforcement,
know that,
and this isn't me saying
our law enforcement is good,
let's just be clear,
but have a knowledge
of how deathly
high speed chases
or any of this is
how it can affect
the general public,
even if you are chasing a criminal,
not somebody that we do actually
want in this country,
but even if you're chasing
a worse kind of criminal,
you're creating all sorts of chaos,
you're putting the public safety
at risk. And in general, these should be avoided, especially if, as they like to pretend each time,
and then we find out later that, in fact, this was not the actual target of their search. But let's
just say that they have targeted one specific person that they want to bring in. You can do it at
their home. You could do it elsewhere. You can wait. You do not have to do this. It's not safe.
But apparently ice officers were like, nah, dude, we love the chases.
We like the chases.
They're fun.
And I'm not joking.
This is apparently that's what they want.
This is why they're there.
Yeah, they love it.
They want to dress up like the thugs and go around and do their little action movie stuff.
I mean, I would say, like, police like doing it too.
these are just guys who like can't be the police even
we shameless plug we do
we have an episode specifically about high speed police chases
the deadly avoidable reality of high speed police chases
it goes in depth in like the training
and why they do this and why they shouldn't do this
and how they know they shouldn't do this
all the damage that happens
it's a bad thing that happens
and I would just I don't know
recommend folks watch that at home
Except the cops and local news.
Yes.
Sky 5 or whatever.
They can go follow in the helicopter and the cops can do it and they can do their little video game.
But it's not a video game.
It's reality and it causes damage and it doesn't help actually.
And these guys are just champing at the bit to do it.
I would like to.
How dare you.
It should be chomping.
There's a bit in the mouth and you're chomping on it.
I know we've been through this before so many times.
That's really what this.
podcast should be called is champing at the news
depending on which one of them.
Champing on the news.
Champing slash chomping in the news.
I want to, this is a real quick clip
of Tom Homan and I
can tell you what he says after he says that if he's hard
to understand. But
this is him talking about why they don't
need to do the chases. I hear
a lot of noise right now. This is going to affect
ICE arrest. And it's not going to.
Look, I've done this for a long time.
You can, you can, when the alien
leaves his home before he gets into the car,
you're going to arrest him then. You can wait to
the vehicle gets to the destination and rest of them.
Rest of them, every case is different.
So good point, Tom.
He at that point is trying to defend the end of the chases, the end of the traffic stops,
not knowing that in a few hours his boss is going to say they got to do it or whatever.
But so he admits right there they don't need to, you know, do the thing that ends up with them shooting someone.
No, you don't.
Well, and also, he calls them the alien, which I always think is really interesting.
But the other thing is, I think both of these men, or at least the gentleman in Maine, was not in this country illegally.
And then the gentleman in Texas, Lorenzo Salgado, I think, was his name.
He was not the person they were looking for.
So that's the other piece of this where I think these, because these people are in cars, it's hard to know who you are looking for.
And because all of these ICE officers are fucking racist, they just are targeting black and brown people.
But the thing I wanted to say to you guys is I was thinking, isn't it interesting that these two big
incidences have happened in like what I would say are the most contested Senate races in the country
right now, Texas and Maine.
And like, I'm from Massachusetts.
And so I feel like, you know, I feel a little kinship to Maine.
But I think people don't often think about Maine.
Like they don't think about Biddeford, Maine.
And so I do think it's interesting that these are the two places where this has happened in the last less than a week.
Yeah, no, that's a good point.
It is interesting.
Yeah, and affecting like people, like, you know, the national stories don't always, yeah, affect everybody individually.
But like, these are people that they know.
These are people in their communities.
And as you pointed out, not even the people that they were targeting.
And Lorenzo Salgado Arajo was in the process of seeking legal status, the incredibly arduous and difficult process.
that they don't make easy and because they don't want you to have legal status that they claim that they want you to be able to do.
This is what I've been stuck on. It's just how fundamentally broken our immigration process is in general to be waiting decades to be struggling with figuring out how to be here legally when you're working here. You're raising your children here.
When you are doing everything in your power to become an American. And there's just no good way. And it's so expensive. It's so time.
consuming and now you add the added threat of like oh I'm trying to do things right but they're
rolling people up at who are doing things right you're now on their target list how are we how are we
supposed to fix this it does not need to be this way also and you know this is pointless to even bring
up but before the election last two years ago there was a bipartisan immigration bill that was
ready to be passed and they made sure that it wouldn't so that the demon could get in an office
and do all this horrible shit.
Yeah, but I would say that even that to me, I'm like, make it easier.
Oh, sure.
It should be easier.
It should be easier to come here to work and it should be actually easier to go back and forth.
Because not everybody wants to move here.
People, son, my whole family lives in other countries, but I have to go here for economic reasons.
Well, wouldn't it be nice if you got, you were not penalized and we welcomed you and you still got to go home and see your family or go back and forth?
Like, this is just so fucked. It's so fundamental.
You got a job. You're just going to be paying taxes. It's fine.
They should do the thing that they are pretending that they want, right? They say they want it. They're like, you got come here the right way and do all this stuff.
They pretend that this is what they want and then they would never make it happen.
And I guess what I'm saying is that I guess Democrats don't want to either.
Well, they just don't want to do anything with this issue
because they think it's a losing issue for them.
They're terrified.
I know.
I'm being very flip the way.
But I feel so frustrated by it because right now the conversation necessarily is centered around all of these.
The brutalization, these killings, the inhumane conditions and ICE detention centers.
We have had, I think, 22 people die in detention facilities just this year.
Yeah, someone died this week because they wouldn't give him medication.
And so this is necessarily the conversation.
at the moment, but nobody's having the conversation that I want us to be having, which is,
and now what?
We need this fixed.
But you're right.
I understand that it's because politically, they don't want to seem weak or whatever.
They don't want to touch it.
Makes me angry.
And they try to touch it a little bit again, but.
I think I'm going to Dilley in about a week, which is the ICE detention facility in Texas,
which is the only one that houses children.
So I think I'm going to go next week.
don't let Stephen Miller find out.
He watches this show, so.
Careful.
Oh my God.
Katie's been in my DMs before, which let me tell you, there's nothing more terrifying
than Katie Miller in your DMs.
I thought you met me for a second.
I went, hi.
And then I went, oh, that Katie.
You're welcome in my DMs.
What did she say?
I was like fucking with her.
And she kind of took it like a champ.
Okay.
She was normal.
She was a normal person.
Yeah.
But that's the scariest thing about these people, right?
Is that you can have really normal.
And that's like when the eulogizing of Lindsey Graham was happening.
And like Cory Booker's like, hey guys, I just got back from a run.
And I'm just thinking about Grandpa Graham.
Like, oh, God.
Like, no, it doesn't work that way.
But anyway, I will say like I do think into that point, I do think that Representative Castro,
who is in San Antonio is one of the few Dems who I think has been doing a really good job on
And I also think even prior to this, Representative Shelley Pingree, who's in Maine, was also doing some great work.
And so I think it's also interesting that Maine has become this target.
So I'll just leave it at that.
It's certainly interesting with the backdrop of these Senate races.
And the attention that this brings to their state and having these candidates now in the national stage front and center.
And the president's repeated desire to have ICE agents at polling places for the election.
I mean, I-
Seems like maybe that's also a little related.
I think he's won two presidential elections, but I think there's, he has bad political instincts personally.
I think that.
And I think it's a mistake to surge ice in a place where people are going to be voting in a few months.
I don't think it's good optics to murder.
someone in the town
Miss Rachel was born in
like
again that's not
intentional but like this is
this is going to inspire
people to I love that
where the idea to be
afraid of Miss Rachel
they should be afraid of Miss Rachel
they should be but she's so cute
thanking their lucky star she's not jumping into that
Senate race because she'd blow out the old lady
especially if children can vote
I'm telling you.
I know.
I'm just being a dick.
I love Miss Rachel.
Did you guys see like, I don't know, maybe two months ago Whitney Cummings came for Miss Rachel.
Yeah.
I mean, Whitney Cummings has had some bad takes, right?
Like she's the only person that like, you know, has had a bad war in Ukraine take.
Like I'm like, oh, I thought we were all kind of in agreement on some of that stuff.
But anyway, she came for Ms. Rachel.
And let me tell you, she got the fire.
of a thousand sons.
I think she,
you just don't fuck with Ms. Rachel.
Because she's the co-parent
of like 20 million people
in this country.
Like she's extremely famous.
Her,
what do they call it?
Popularity when the...
Favorables?
Oh, right.
Like your score.
Yeah.
Her favorables are higher
than any politician in this country
like guaranteed.
She's trying to close down
Dilly Detention Center.
like they should kind of stay out of her way
and hope she doesn't like come for them.
So it's, I mean, they should stop murdering people.
They should stop shooting people everywhere, anywhere.
But I know like Stephen Miller really likes sending ice
to like blue states and blue cities to mess with them.
And that's bad for the people who live there.
And Stephen Miller is going to feel real good
in his like evil little soul about it.
But politically bad idea.
Yeah, it's like it's not, even people who, you know, the Joe Rogans of the world who are like, yeah, we have an immigration problem.
We got to get the bad guys out of here, whatever.
He, even he's like, this is like weird.
Like no, like most normal people don't like to see armed masks like thugs with no uniforms guarding election sites.
Like it's just not going to.
Some people do.
I did want to highlight that ICE is now trying to say that Lorenzo Salgado Arajo had meth in his car.
I question that claim.
You should, Cody.
I'm bringing this up only because it's such bullshit.
Which the DA involved in this already said.
Like, no.
Like, if you shoot somebody, if you fucking murder somebody.
Even if you had meth.
You got to get.
Wait, even if you have meth.
Who cares?
What's a little meth between Kobe?
workers, right?
Like,
like,
no one should be killed because they have meth,
even if they are here illegally or if they're here.
Like,
that's just not the punishment.
Even,
but even if,
even if they,
like,
obviously,
yeah,
uh,
fire these,
uh,
ice agents and put them in prison for murdering people.
That,
but even if they didn't kill him,
fired these agents for planting meth and lying about that.
Like,
it's just like,
all the steps.
Get rid of all of them.
Just like get rid of them.
For their actions before, during, and after.
Every single action they've taken.
Like, double fire.
Hire them again, just so you can fire them again.
Like, just like, do a series of whatever.
It's just like fucking cops.
Cops are shit.
God.
Do you guys want to talk about low T?
So, like, when you say, want to talk about low T in my head, I'm like, yeah, let's talk
about Vance.
But you mean.
The other thing.
I'm going to marry these things together podcast-wise.
Perfect.
I can't wait to see it.
Pete Hegseth, still there, posted a video yesterday that military men over 30 will
undergo testosterone screening as part of their annual medical checkup.
He posted this with the caption, The High T Department of War.
And so this is all Manosphere like bullshit, you know, like culture war bullshit.
Like, we're the tough guys or whatever.
Are they replacing that, like, they're replacing getting a flu show.
shot with this? No, they
reinstated that after there was that massive
flu outbreak.
It's so funny. At one base, they're like
quietly, yeah, you got to
make sure it. It's no,
it doesn't make you weak. You got to get it.
It actually makes you like really strong.
And so he says it's like, it'll be totally up
to you if we found, if we find your low
tea, it'll be totally up to you if you get the hormone
replacement therapy. But
also, with some
help from a doctor friend of mine who sent me
info from the American Urological Association.
It's not recommended
unless you have like symptoms of
something because
testosterone naturally, as Hegset
says, as you age,
the level goes down.
It's also different for every person.
Yeah, different for every person. You're
supposed to get tested twice
in the morning because the levels
fluctuate throughout the day. So that's why you
aren't supposed to diagnose after.
Hormone testing is famously
unreliable. Your hormones are different.
every point during the day.
Shout out to my ladies in their 40s.
It's not that simple.
And like typically a diagnosis requiring treatment is only recommended when it's low testosterone
levels combined with symptoms like bone density loss or unexplained anemia or diabetes
and the list goes on.
None of this Hexas said or knows or cares about.
But the aesthetics.
It's so lame.
But also it's dangerous.
The vibes, Jonathan, though.
Have you considered the vibes of it?
It's really cool, right?
I feel like there will be a lot of different kinds of peer pressured or perhaps it won't be as optional as he is suggesting.
But regardless, it's dangerous.
In the Army and the Armed Forces, Katie.
Under the advisement of your specific doctor that knows you well and if you have been struggling with certain symptoms as Jonathan has,
has already explained, that's a whole different conversation.
But to just supplement with testosterone at the age of 30,
to, for some Manosphere bullshit reason,
can have all sorts of unwanted effects,
including like aggression and irrational thinking.
And that's not what I want in a off military, a soldier, anyway.
In anyone, but yeah.
In anyone, but especially.
in a soldier.
I feel like though, you were saying, you know,
oh, God, Hegseth is still around.
I feel like this is a way that Hegseth keeps himself in Trump's good graces,
because Trump is so unhinged now that, like, he's like,
what's Hegseth up to?
And he's like, oh, my God, you're not going to believe it.
I'm making everybody take this test.
And like, to Trump, that's fantastic.
So I think that's how he's, because I do think his days could be numbered if he, like,
now it's like, oh, my God, he's doing this crazy.
thing instead of like what is he doing you know that's actually really he's got like he's really bad right he's
always sort of alluding to like i'm going to blame all the war crimes on heggseth and he's going to and then he'll
go but then yeah keep keep around and do like the pageant the pageantry that he's doing well and as
long as heggseth gets out there and makes a clip or something that says something that makes the rounds
in our clip culture for us people like us to react to that is a
distraction from other conversations.
So for Trump, that's good.
I'm like, yeah, let him rag on haggseth for some reason.
For whatever reason, it doesn't matter.
Suck up the oxygen for a couple days while I keep doing my bullshit and make my speech.
And stopping and stopping and starting this war.
Right.
Yeah.
And they're so disorganized.
This will probably never even fucking happen.
Someone will come in and go, you know, I'd love to get the testosterone test.
I've been having like sleep apnea and, you know, and they're like, oh, I'm sorry.
Like, we actually don't have it.
Like, so I feel like.
That was bullshit, to be clear.
Yeah.
You know, is it any coincidence that a week ago they reported that like the average American has spent $1,100 on the war in Iran?
So like we've all lost $1,100 because of that.
Good to know.
Right?
And so it's just sort of like I think it's just another great opportunity to like do the Wizard of Oz thing.
Not that I think that's all that this is because it's also like goes back to I think, you know, a lot of the sexism.
And also if you're a woman and you're in the military,
and you're like, okay, they care more about our health.
What about women's health?
What about women who are experiencing hormonal changes that are in the military?
Like hook them up with some progesterine and, you know, the patch, an estrogen patch or something?
No.
I mean, the only thing they get our mandatory never promotions.
Mandatory shut up is like what they get.
He's like refused.
Every week, like, we don't focus on it because it's just like,
Oh, another one?
Like, every week, it's like,
Hegsteth denies promotions to seven black women,
five-star generals or whatever it is.
Like, it's very obvious.
He just wants a segregation.
I mean, he just wants...
He wants his Christian nationalist army.
Segregated country,
and he's going to do it in his little world
as long as he can.
Yeah, because there's an obvious effort
to instill that into the military
and as maybe we probably would discuss it with these clips but JD fans in his book
it's church and the military Christian nationalism that is what they are that is the
project they're trying to do right now if I can just say about Pete Hagseth we've
talked about this before since he's a TV guy the way he like looks into the camera and
like focuses on like digging into you the whole time I find very unsettling even when
he's trying to do like an encouraging video for the troops or whatever he
is a very unsettling TV-looking guy.
I think we've reached the time in our program
where we are going to watch some clips.
Clips of Vance on Rogan,
clips that we have already alluded to
several times throughout the episode.
Yeah, well, so I guess, to preface this,
I will preface this segment
because we've talked about this before in the past.
J.D. Vance has, on more than one occasion,
said that he is more obsessed with aliens
than anyone.
It's the thing he is obsessed with the most of anyone.
And then he was going to look into the alien question.
Like what's going on with these aliens?
Do we have human-al hybrids?
Who knows?
And he said like at this next congressional recess, like that's what I'm going to be focusing
on.
Six months later, he was asked about aliens again.
And he said, once again, I'm more obsessed with this than anyone.
I haven't had time.
And this is, this was the interview where he.
added this fun little tidbit that not only is he more obsessed with aliens than anyone in the
world, but he also thinks that the aliens are actually demons. Literally demons, the little
demons, whatever your image of demons is the little guys. So he thinks they're demons and then he's
going to look into it as soon as he has a chance. And I believe about five or six months
passed again. And he's now on Joe Rogan, the alien guy. So surely it's going to come up.
Yeah. We have to hope. We have to hope that it's.
comes up. What is it like being the vice president? Like, how much access do you have to information?
Because- So I'll give you another conspiracy. So I have, like, effectively unlimited access to information.
Unlimited. But I think that the, one of the things that I have learned about the job is it's, you're doing so much on the day to day.
Like, like you're calling senators and trying to get them to pass a piece of legislation. You're meeting with staff about what should go in the housing bill. You're negotiating with the Iranians.
or the cutteries or the Israelis about something that's going on in the Middle East.
And a lot of it, like the UFO thing, like I've said that I'm going to like, I'm going to look
into the UFO thing.
And I've been saying that for a year and a half.
And I haven't done it yet because I haven't had the time.
Okay.
And so time for this.
Some of this.
So, pot.
Okay.
So first of all, you wrote a book.
You went on the view.
You did interviews for days and days and days.
Got your wife pregnant.
You're on this three and a half hour podcast that you don't need to be doing to talk about
what you'd like to be doing if you had the time.
It's absurd.
To Austin to do it too.
But also, and this is something I just noticed.
So he started this with saying,
so here's a fun conspiracy.
And I think the conspiracy is
that he doesn't have time to do stuff.
He calls it a conspiracy theory
a little later in the clip too.
Does he?
But he does it in a way of like, here's the conspiracy.
Everyone says, like, I think that's how he's doing it.
He's like, here's my conspiracy theory.
So like, you got all these phone calls
and stuff when you got this busy job.
Like, that's not a conspiracy theory.
Yeah.
Can we just back up for one second, though, and discuss the fucking prolific interviewer that is Joe Rogan has the vice president of the United States sitting across from me.
He's like, hey, man, what's up?
So what's it like being the vice president?
Like, that is a question that I would have asked in the fourth grade if I met the vice president.
That is insane.
It's like, where do you get your ideas?
Like, I almost can't blame J.D. Vance for this answer because, like, there's such a.
fucking bullshit question.
It's just like, so how do you spend your days?
And it's like, well, I'm busy, you know?
Well, he, like, it's the dumbest fucking question.
He's never going to ask anybody a hard-hitting question.
Right.
But it's tough because he has to say, like, yeah, I'm vice president, a big powerful guy.
I have access to anything I could have access to, uh, except to take, you know,
the Epstein stuff really takes a long time.
And that's like a really tough, like, super granular.
You got to go through the thing.
And the alien, you can't just go and search it.
Where are all the aliens and the thing?
I have to look.
What do you mean look into it?
Someone knows.
If the government knows the thing, you know the thing.
What is this like once I can sit down and go to the archives myself because no one else who like does this.
I would have to do it personally.
There's a place that he can go allegedly for this bit of information.
Nobody has ever gone before and he's the hero that's going to finally do it.
But buddy, go away.
Like at this point, like, and during this interview, Rogan does a few times, like, push back in ways.
I'm like, oh, that's actually kind of surprising to the point where, like, people are mad at him for, for, like, pushing back a little bit on fans.
I've seen people, like, no one's happy with what Vance did in this interview.
But, like, at this point, when he's like, you know, and he's done another time, at this point, like, Joe say, oh, well, then we can just end here.
Go do it.
I'll let you leave the studio.
By all needs, go do the work you need to do.
Yeah, go.
Go. Get out of here.
Keep watching because Rogan takes this answer very seriously and responds the way someone who's really interested in actually getting to the answers of the aliens would do.
So he's taking the answer of a vice president seriously?
Interesting.
Well, this one.
He talked, like this whole thing, Vance talks like he's just like brand new to the world.
And he's like, oh, everyone's looking for my opinions.
just a guy in my basement with the microphone.
You're the vice president.
At one point, just like, for what it's worth, my opinion, for what it's worth, you're the
vice president anyway.
Continue the clip.
Sorry.
You know, the guy, the people sometimes want to hang.
Trump's vice president.
Yeah, what a cool, fun guy.
To have the time to actually punch through the walls and to like go to the gatekeepers
and say you have to open up that gate because I'm the vice president.
And some of it is just hard to actually get to because I don't have the time to sort of focus
on that one issue.
What a bullshit answer.
More obsessed than anyone.
You have unlimited access to information.
The constraint is not people tell me no.
The constraint is...
Time management.
You're just so busy doing other shit.
Other shit.
Folksie.
The UFO thing, I think, would be something
that I would want to pursue.
Yes.
I mean, just for my own personal information,
I would want to know what is going on.
Correct.
Of course, if you believe in aliens.
Are these special access programs
that are above top?
secret and that this is our own stuff or is this something that's far more bizarre and something
that is interdimensional from another planet whatever fill in the blank is it foreign and if it's
foreign is it 6,000 miles away or like 6,000 light years away right yes right and that is that is
I will answer that question eventually really really I'll get to the bottom of it he's so
I'm floundering so bad.
Oh my God.
Wait.
What would be?
What would that entail?
Eventually I'll have like a few weeks where I can just sit down and worry about that problem.
You said something that I thought was very bizarre.
Here's an interesting thing, though.
I will say.
Take one hour and see what you find did.
That is one of those conspiracy theories that there are a lot of people in our government who are interested in this, meaning our current political leadership who are interested in this question.
Not as much as you.
And it has, like, nothing has really happened yet.
which makes me a little bit less interested in it.
Because there are a lot of people with access to those files and access to that information
and nothing has changed since Biden left office,
which makes me think other people have looked into it and they just haven't necessarily found something.
What a cop out.
I eventually, I promise you, I'm going to like sit down and spend a couple of weeks
trying to figure out what's in these files.
Your promise is me nothing.
Actually, I haven't done it yet.
That last bit is so good.
I just haven't done it yet.
Look at his face.
his face he's so defeated.
It's like me talking about my retirement fund with my dad.
I'm like eventually I'm just going to sit down.
I promise.
You know,
take a couple of years.
Ah, but I got the look at the thing.
Phone calls.
A couple of weeks off.
The other thing too is I think like let's never underestimate the effects that men
and black one had on millennials.
Like I think a lot of this can just be drawn back to, you know, like a nice Friday night
where J.D. Vance saw men in black one.
And he was like, listen, it's possible.
that would be cool
we're all in the thing
at the marble at the end on the
spoilers for men and black one
the whole universe is in
I think you're right
in general Meredith
but I also think
he just
I think he's so full of shit
he's so full of shit
and he's stupid and he can't even do it
like he can't even play the game like at least
Trump Trump finds a way
to weirdly play the game sometimes
but J.D. Vance isn't even
smart enough to do it and he just
I mean, I think to even most Republicans looks really fucking stupid.
Well, look, J.D. Vance doesn't even believe in J.D. Vance.
Like what we watch is a person that was handpicked by Peter Thiel to fulfill a job.
And it's not a good job.
He is not a good person.
This isn't any defense of J.D. Vance, by the way.
But a terrible job to have to be in.
And presumably will be the candidate.
in a couple years trying to tow this line.
I know.
Presumably, I don't know.
But in his mind, in his mind.
But he sees a topic.
He knows that part of his boss's success was catering to conspiracy theories,
catering to people that want answers, want to drain the swamp,
figure out what they've been hiding from us.
So he is trying very ineffectively to play to that audience by saying like,
oh, yeah, no one cares more about aliens than me.
But then you get called out on it so easily, so quickly.
And you've got absolutely nothing in the take to say for yourself other than,
I'm busy.
Also,
I'm so busy.
I'm here,
but I'm busy.
And someone would have told me, I guess, if there were aliens.
So now I'm less interested in it.
Not.
And like, it's just fascinating seeing like, Rogan, like, genuinely confused.
Like, just like, but if I were you, I would go look into that to find out the information
that you're talking about.
And like every single thing's like, you find out this, find of this.
Vance is just like, uh-huh.
Yeah, correct.
Yeah, totally.
He's just like nodding along like yes anding.
Like, yeah, whatever you say.
Totally.
The aliens are like very interesting.
Yeah.
And then so like he's, it's just such of like amazing three minutes because he's saying,
I know that I say this a lot.
I know for a year and a half.
I've said I'm obsessed with this and I'm going to look into it and I still haven't.
Whoops.
Jim camera.
And then he's like, but also.
No one's told me anything.
And sure, I'm more obsessed with it than anybody.
So maybe they're not going to show me that, but they haven't shown me anything.
So I'm less interested in it now.
So I'm not obsessed with aliens anymore, which, by the way, I'll remind you.
I think they're literally demons.
And then he's like, but all that being said, I promise you.
I will have answers.
What?
Don't say, don't prompt.
What are you doing? Why are you promising that?
I think Rogan could learn something from the fact that he has had Donald Trump on his show,
that he's had J.D. Vance on multiple times, once as vice president, Elon Musk on multiple times,
the most powerful people in the world.
And none of them have ever been able to confirm any of his theories about anything.
These are the people who would be in the position to do that.
And he's always just like, yeah, no, I think I'd look into the thing that I think is going to be the thing that would change the world,
that would fundamentally alter how we think about humanity and anything.
Are you going to do that?
All right, whatever.
Pretty good, Joe Rogan.
Totally, totally, yeah.
...and this is not important, and I don't want to body shame anybody,
and no, I'm not talking about fans this time.
I think Rogan's head looks a little too small for his muscles now,
and that's been true for a while, but it's looking extra true right now,
and it's like, just chill a little bit.
I know there's other forms of...
exercise that are good for you.
Other than that,
it's not right, man.
Someone should look into it.
I promise you I will.
I won't body shame either.
I won't body shame,
Vance, although, again, I have to point out,
it's funny that he heard clificular say
that he was a little tubby compared to Gavin Newsom
and instantly he's like, oh, I got to start.
I got to get on a shot.
I got to go.
Exactly.
He's the guy that Trump's always talking about and making fun of when he talks about.
God, I want to,
I want to know who that is.
But so, like, obviously, that's very funny.
There's another moment we don't need to watch it, but, like, where Vance brings up
that, like, Republicans aren't cool or whatever.
And he brings it up.
And then, yeah, yeah, I think the Republicans do have a bit of a cool problem, you know,
Democrats, like, they're a little cooler in us.
They've got the culture.
And Rogan's like, yeah, I guess, you know, I guess they're, like, dorks.
And Rogans start, or Vance starts saying, like, no, it's like, like, what you said on
your show?
And Rogan's like, what?
It's like, you said that we were like dorks or something like that.
And like, Rogan has no idea.
It's like, I don't remember, I guess.
Yeah, there are a bunch of dorks there.
And like, I remember that clip being passed around and like all the people like,
Oh my God, look, Rogan thinks they're all dorks.
Ha, ha, ha.
He doesn't fucking remember that shit.
He doesn't remember anything he says.
And clearly Vance saw it and it stuck with him.
And he's like, oh, my God, I got to bring that up.
They think we're dorks.
We got to address that when I go back.
Like, he's, he's just so influenced by these little clips he sees.
He's so...
Oh, I think he's just a sensitive soul.
I also think he's really hurt by that.
I also think I'll just add,
I hate to bring religion into it,
but I'll say this.
I think it's going to be hard for J.D.
Vance to lean into like the alien thing fully,
the way he wants to,
and still sort of get to be the Catholic guy.
Well, that's why he's calling him demons.
Right.
I think Pope Leo would say,
JD, I don't know about that.
But even if there are aliens,
maybe we should focus on the children and not.
first. Like even if there are, even if there are aliens, like I think the Catholic response would be,
let's, let's focus on what's happening here and then we can talk about the aliens. So I think that
J.D. Vance is, I also think J.D. Vance converted to the wrong religion and he really doesn't know
what to do with that now. Like, you know, I think 15 years ago, Catholicism seemed like the right
track for him. And unless he's playing the like super conservative Opus Day, Peter Thiel way of
Catholicism, it's good, but not the Pope Leo way. So I think he's really trying to find his footing
and it can't be I'm the Christian. He's setting the stage. He's being pulled in so many directions.
He's trying to do like secular Catholicism in this way. Well, he wants to start his own branch,
a branch of Catholicism perhaps. I mean, he's definitely like, and this is in his book and stuff,
which we might talk about eventually. But like he's, he is trying to have both. He wants to
pitch Catholicism to like everybody, but also in a way that seems kind of secular and not religious,
but also play to the religious crowd and make them believe that he believes it, but he just can't,
he can't do both.
He can't do this high wire act.
He doesn't have it in him.
He doesn't have it in him.
He doesn't have the time.
He doesn't have the time to have it in him.
Who has the time?
You know what?
Relatable.
Honestly, when he said that, I was like, he's not wrong.
We all are busy.
He is a true millennial.
Take a moment.
Take a mental health day, J.D.
You deserve it.
Do you?
Well, that's what this was, Joe Rogan.
Nice little vacation to Austin.
Meredith, thank you so much for joining us.
It was wonderful meeting you, having you here today.
Can you please tell our audience where they can find you?
First of all, thank you so much for having me.
This has been so much fun, especially like getting to end it,
bullying J.D. Vance.
You can find me, Meredith M. Lynch, across all the platforms.
And then my show, The Moment Live, is on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 a.m. PST, 11 a.m.
E.st.T. And we have tons of great guests. Next week, we have Paula Poundstone on.
Nice.
But we also have a lot of political folks as well. I think Senator Markey's coming on in the next
couple weeks. So anyway, yeah, come hang out with us on The Moment Live.
We will. We'll be tuning in. You guys should, too.
Well, we're so busy. But everyone.
I don't know.
We're still busy.
I don't know of the time,
but I'm gonna,
I promise to look into that.
We'll find a couple of weeks.
Yeah,
make some time off and look at some old episodes.
Yeah.
Like and subscribe if you haven't done that yet.
Doesn't you have to be a nice comment.
Preferer a nice comment.
Preferably.
Any kind of comment will work for the rhythm.
The algor,
the algo,
that is.
Also, you know,
something that's just been on my mind
that I want to leave you guys with
that I think about all the time.
And I just, I have to get it off my chest.
What?
We love you very much.
What?
Okay.
Much, much, okay.
