trio am I talking to? What are we doing? Yeah. This trio. I know. It's every day it's a different
trio, a different pod. Every day, it's a different trio. And you know what? Every day also is a
winding road. Man, get a little bit closer.
Man, I'm so glad to be here.
Please, somebody appreciated that reference.
I sure did.
I was trying to find the next lyrics, but I know it's Cheryl.
We skipped it, but Jonathan, it looks like you're also here.
Jonathan is also here.
It looked like you enjoyed the reference as well.
But you had not been introduced yet, so we couldn't.
First, we do have holidays.
To celebrate?
To celebrate.
Friday, October 3rd, National Boyfriend Day.
I don't know.
Okay. Forget the man cave on October 3rd. It's the man's day. Don't like it so far.
It's National Boyfriend Day, the perfect annual excuse to celebrate the guy who kills spiders for you, shares his fries sometimes, and still gives you butterflies.
Whether the relationship is brand new or is more history than your browser search today is all about honoring your partner in crime.
Okay. Well, thank you, chat, GPT for what you gave to the National Day calendar.
I kill my own spiders, thank you.
As a boyfriend many times and now a spouse for 15 years, sharing fries is never voluntary.
That is, yeah, I don't ever want to share these fries.
It's a mandatory tax.
It's a mandatory tax.
It's like your hoodies.
I don't really want to share this.
Okay, what if I order us an extra large fry knowing that I'm going to eat a small portion of those fries?
Totally different story, because you said order us.
Right.
That's an appetizer, getting, as opposed to a burger and fries.
What if, next follow up, what if you want burger and fries and I'm like, I don't really
want fries, but I want some fries.
Can you get it really big?
You set expectations.
Okay, okay, okay.
Well, it depends on where you're at.
If you're McDonald's, you supersize it, if they still do that, I'm sure you could, I think
they just call it large size now, but if you're at, let's say, chilies.
There is no such thing as a large.
They'll say order a side of fries and you're like, no, I want the fries that come with my sandwich
to be more so that I can allocate 15% to my lovely spouse or partner.
I don't think they do that.
But here's the thing.
He's going to give you the fries.
He's going to give you the fries.
I'm just saying it's just not voluntary.
Yeah, he's going to give them to you or you're going to take the prize.
And I appreciate that sacrifice.
Well, I feel like the real holiday is the National Custodial Workers Recognition Day.
Oh, yes.
Happy birthday to the boyfriends or whatever the day is.
But I did want to mention also Thursday, October 2nd, which I think people are listening
to this or not, I don't know, who knows when things come out these days.
It's National Custodial Workers Recognition Day.
So recognize your custodial workers.
It's actually, as Jonathan points out, Stephen Miller's least favorite type of person and holiday.
It's true.
He hates them so much because they don't do their jobs.
And he can't throw his garbage on the ground enough.
So, you know, happy birthday to the custodial workers.
That was a much better holiday than the National Boyfriend Day.
You're right.
You're right.
They're both valid.
October 1st is the first day of national breast cancer Awareness Month.
I am wearing pink.
I mean, I do wear pink a lot.
It's a good color for me.
But I am specifically wearing it today in honor of it.
About a year ago, my sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she's fine.
I didn't talk about it at the time.
Not my business to be sharing.
But she has always gotten tested every year.
And within a year, had like four tumors pop up.
And that's how quickly this can happen.
And so October 1st, if you have been putting it off, go schedule it.
I am in the process of scheduling my very first mammogram because I am in my 40s, and it's scary, but it's important.
And please let me know.
Everybody out there, if you're getting your mammograms, if you're taking care of it, let's be proactive and stay on top of our health.
That's it.
End of sentence.
Great sentence.
Prop. How are you?
uh man i you know probably like everybody else a a whole bucket of like you know personal wins and losses
that are normal and then a bucket of rage that sits right next to the bucket of wins and losses
you know and just kind of dealing with it all the uh i just got the alert that well one that jane
goodall just died that's pretty sad oh my goodness they did not know that yeah 91 like i just
look down and was like oh crap but the alert i was going to talk about is so i just did a poetry
record uh like this first time i did a full like spoken word album i just got alert from the grammy
association it's in the runnings man so like so uh congratulations if we got any
that's incredible anybody listening that are like voting members of the grammy association
please sign up for the spoken word section so you can vote for your boy that's so cool yes
i'm super excited the last relations and good luck yeah man the last
Last time, so the last time when I did the Terraform book and audio book and stuff like that last time I was on here, I was nominated then too, but I lost to like Barack Obama.
So like, I mean, if you're going to lose to somebody, I'm like, and at the time, you know, audio books was in the same section as like spoken word.
So it was like, okay, even though I might have been doing poetry, it's like, well, it's Barack Obama.
Like, you're going to lose.
You're going to lose to Obama.
You know, I mean, so, but this one I may, I may have a chance.
So if there's any voters, like, you know.
I'm so.
Yeah, I get on it.
Sincerely, truly, that makes my heart so happy in a time with so much chaos and just bad news.
And most of us, I mean, all of us have lived in L.A., California, L.A. area.
And everyone's struggling.
It's hard.
Work is hard.
Winds are hard to come by.
Yeah, I don't know anyone with one.
job. Yeah, right. I don't know a single person with one. My wife has a Ph.D. She is a doctor.
Like, I also, did I see that you were in Portland, uh, doing a live show with Robert and Sophie? Yeah, me and
Robert. Yes. Was it? How was Portland? Is it under war? Is it a war? Oh my God. Man. War ravaged.
You should have seen the hellscape. The hellscape that was that farmer's market and just
all these violent white girls with hula hoops, you know, just it was so,
sunny and beautiful.
Like it burns on everything.
The Northwest is notorious for like the one time you visit, it's perfect.
And then you come back and realize like, oh, this is what they mean by it.
Like, so it was that era where it's like this is perfect.
Perfect.
Yeah.
So yeah.
Now, we did a live, you know, bastard show.
You know, Robert was Roberting.
You know, he's as he does.
Yeah.
You know, me and Sophie went got some drinks.
It was great.
You know, and then it worked.
It worked out.
I had like a rap show that like somebody had asked, like literally an hour after Robert asked to book this.
I was like, oh, perfect.
Stuck around, kicked it, did some rapping.
And then, yeah, it came on back.
So yeah, no, Portland, I narrowly escaped the hellscape that was really good coffee and smash burgers.
I'm so glad you've safely extricated yourself from that environment and we're able to make it here with us today.
I guess we should talk about that stuff.
Yeah, part of this stuff.
What's been going on?
Well, we're going to start today with the government shut down.
The government is shut down.
Neither side would vote for the other party's resolution on Tuesday night, so there's no funding deal.
Republicans wanted to extend the funding we already have through November and figure out stuff while the government's open.
But Democrats demanded an extension of Affordable Care Act, health care subsidies, and a reversal of the $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid.
from the O, B, B, B, A.
There was basically no negotiation.
That was their opening offer,
and they kind of didn't get any counteroffer.
There was a moment where Hakeem Jeffreys and Chuck Schumer
went to the White House,
but it appeared to just be a photo op
for Trump to have them sit in front of Trump 2028 hats
that had been put in front of them.
I was told by Chuck Schumer,
I was told by Chuck Schumer that Trump was
finally hearing their demands and willing to negotiate.
But I suppose that is a few hours before he shared that AI video of Hakee Jeffries in a sombrero.
So maybe it wasn't in case.
So when Akeen change pulled up on B, I'm just doing my New York impression.
But I would like to go on record to say that your show, the more news extended universe and mine, were.
those that were like, I really think y'all need to take serious to fact that Trump is going to run again.
And all of our friends, I'm pretty sure yours were, we're like, come on, there's the Constitution.
And I'm like, have you been paying attention?
I just, I feel like, I feel like this was the most obvious next step.
We are stuck with this man.
So the, I'm just, as the side note to the 2028s, I just want to say, we can.
share with the I tried to
told you. Yeah, he's still doing it. It's still
jokes to them though. Still jokes.
It's still jokes. It's still jokes. But I think
people are starting to get the
unease that we've felt and it's
so mad. It's
fucking frustrating and raging
for years to be like
they're teasing this, they're teasing this
and then they're teasing it more and it's
that thing where when you joke
about something enough then it becomes
normalized and people wash you off.
They say you're crazy. But
things that we've been worried about are happening all around us kind of all of them yeah
almost at once yeah when he jokes about oh I'm just going to be a dictator the first day we're
like y'all know he's not joking right I don't understand how you don't know he's not joking
yeah yeah he wants to do the more with men it's a very frustrating also to see to see like
that clearly was the only reason that they were in the Oval Office is for that photo
It's this tough situation where you want Democrats to do literally anything, especially our
leadership, to do literally anything.
And they're in this situation where like, okay, so if we go and we're fine with it,
then we have these photos of us with these fucking hats.
If we see the hats and then we walk out, then it's going to be like, the Dems, snowflakes
walk out because of hats or whatever.
But there's no win.
There's no win.
so just like actually do anything that even performatively is like no fuck you uh apparently uh hekeem jeffreys when he was
in there and they put the hats down he like turned to j d vance and was like you're okay with this
and jd van said no comment and then everybody laughed and like apparently stand up and walk out leave
leave the room just be like okay fuck you we're leaving trump would say fuck you he does it all the time
He's not like doing any civility
And he gets away with it so just it would be
Sleepier than it used to be but he would say much sleepier
But he would say it so just like just walk out like
Vance today went on and was asked about this and he said yeah that's the most important part
There were also the Trump 2028 hats which I think made the minority leader in both the house and Senate very uncomfortable
Why do you think that is jadie why do you think that is? I hit him search because they can't take a joke
Oh my god no can't they
The deep frustration, as your point was, like, we've been begging for, like, a long time to, like, I just wish the Democrats would do something.
And they keyed in on the word something, not like, like literally something, rather than being like, something that will help is what we meant by something.
I just assumed you knew we meant that.
So, like you said, to walk into the room, to see the hats, I mean, as simple as being like, I'm looking.
moving this off the table. Can we talk serious? Like, you can even do that. Like, you know,
just show that, like, you value your own dignity. You know what I'm saying? Like, forget
the camera. It's like, I'm a grown ass man. Okay. You're not fin of like, I'm not going to be
a prop for your video. Excuse me. Now, we're going to talk about this budget and that. If we're
not talking about the budget, I'm a roll out. Yeah. It's a clown show. Why? I'm not
I'm not playing games with you.
Yeah.
Carry around a little index card that says no on it.
And then if he does it again, tape it on tape it over.
Trump 28.
No.
Like any like anything.
Illegal.
Yeah.
I want to talk about how J.D. Vance and Mike Johnson in particular, but all the Republicans are going around lying on TV all week that the reason this is happening is because Democrats want to give free health care to undocumented immigrants.
We do not give free health care.
to immigrants. We have a policy in this country where if you show up to the emergency room, you need to be treated. That is not the same thing as having free as health insurance for everybody. We don't have health insurance. Yeah. No one has free health care. Nobody has that. No one does. There's a separate conversation, which is that individual states might expand on what they, so depending on where you live, you might be able to get care. But that is not the same thing that we're talking about.
It's wildly different, and anybody telling you that is a liar.
Okay.
It's also usually specifically for children and pregnant women.
Yes, yes.
Almost always when you're like, they do it here for children and pregnant women.
What do you want to happen?
Do you want...
Just saying, don't conflate these things with the conversation we're having right now with this government shutdown is that they are using that as a justification to take you off of your health insurance.
or raise your premiums to just gut and everybody will be feeling this.
No matter who you are, your premiums will go up.
The bill already did it a few months ago.
And so Democrats were saying, okay, this is the only time all year we've had any leverage.
So now we're going to use it to try.
And that should be the argument.
Democrats are trying to get millions of people back cheaper health care.
The Republicans don't want that.
With the little power they have that isn't like, again, like going out there and talking about something or being performative or whatever it is.
Like, this is like an actual legislative like tool they have.
We could have raised more hell.
They could have months ago when things were first passed.
So right now we're in a position where there's no other option.
You shut it down and then run the risk of them just doing what they want to do anyway.
Or you don't shut it down.
and they do what they want to do, but you've co-signed on it.
Well, yeah, they're doing what they want to do anyway.
So there's some, like, ramifications that are expected with the government shutdown,
federal employees going without pay, federal employees furloughed.
Essential jobs like TSA agents and air traffic controllers and apparently building Trump's
ballroom have to continue, but they don't get paid.
Maybe the ballroom people are getting paid.
I don't know.
Well, look, if anybody will not be getting paid.
They're building something for Donald Trump.
They're not going to get paid.
No.
But there's other ramifications in that they are trying to use this as a excuse to do a bunch of other stuff they want to do.
So, for example, the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency, which is a federal watchdog office, went dark today because the Trump administration has decided that they can just remove agencies and.
and congressionally appropriated money
if they don't like it.
And so in this chaos of the government shutdown,
they're saying, okay, federal watchdog group,
buy, even though that's not part of this.
Yeah, that's the thing,
the other thing about this,
which is frustrating and untenable,
I don't know what to do about it,
where they're just always in the situation
where it's just lose, lose constantly.
What are you going to do?
Well, we could try to use our leverage
to get this done.
It's going to shut down the government
and then they're going to blame us
and then while the government shut down
they're going to do all this stuff
that they want to do anyway.
Like Trump is basically saying like,
yeah, I'd do a government shutdown.
I can do more of my
sneaky business if the government shut down,
which he wants to do anyway.
He's not basically saying that.
He's saying it out loud, yes.
Yeah. Exactly.
Yeah.
So like, okay, so we don't want
the government to shut down
so he doesn't do that stuff.
But also like, but then
we have the original problem.
here so what do you do well i guess you sit in the room with your trump 28 28 hats but that can't be
the only thing you do it just seems like such easy i don't want to say easy but like i feel like
the democrats messaging is written for them and by just just pay attention if you're like hey
we don't control any levers of the government how to hell you think we could shut this shit down
number one. So, because we don't control number it. Number two, like you said earlier,
it's like, look, dude, we have a standing tradition and belief that if you're pregnant or a
child and you come into a hospital, we're going to take care of you. This is what we're
holding out for. Right. One would ask J.D. Vance what he wants to happen. Yeah.
So if we don't do this, this should be. This is a really, yeah, important point.
So they are saying, if unless we let this go, they're not going to. They're not going to
approve the thing and I'm like I'm not going to let that go yeah right that's like it's written
for you at the end of the day what does it look like to let it go what does it mean practically
speaking for all of us you don't you can't even imagine the horror that means you're turning away
people that are dying that come to you I think that Jonathan you're about to make this point right
like the so what an illegal immigrant shows up to the hospital and they've been in a horrific
car accident you're just going to say no yeah yeah yeah jade
like literally like jd van specifically what do you want to happen instead what is the alternative
that you are proposing for these people i'll tell you exactly what he's saying yeah mass deportations
and biden shouldn't have let them all in because that's his other thing it's the it's the emergency
room thing or well we're saying illegal aliens but a lot of the people because those people
don't get health care or health or free health care he's talking about people with
temporary protected status or asylum or some other legal status that he does not think should be
legal and so they're just going on TV and saying millions of illegals are getting free health care
while yours is being taken away mysteriously by someone not us by someone not us so your answer is time machine
your answer is time machine so just make sure they were never here in the first place so if you didn't
get in a car accident they weren't then they wouldn't be at the hospital oh so time machine that's your
answer got it right it's like yeah like
Like his solution is like, well, I wish we weren't in this situation.
Yeah.
Well, we're in it.
Are you going to, if they show up, are you going to just like say, well, I guess you like, hold on to that bleeding.
We're going to call ice real quick and kick you out.
What's the plan?
Yeah.
It's really just disgusting.
And amidst all of that, they're just fucking lying over and over.
At the end of the day.
Vance and Johnson, they just keep lying about it.
Their argument is, well, we're just getting rid of this funding because the federal funding goes to these undocumented immigrants at these hospitals, and the federal funding shouldn't go to that.
But I thought this whole plan wasn't going to shut down hospitals, but you're just saying we're taking money away from hospitals.
So the hospitals have to pay for it, and then the hospitals go away.
Right.
Right. Like how do both of those things work together?
well they don't they don't they don't have to they can just say it my question this is pulling back away from this
specific health care conversation in general there are lots of reasons we don't want to pass this
there are lots it's not just about the health care that is probably the most visceral and easiest to message around
do you think it's a mistake or not i mean at this point i think it's the easiest messaging and i think
it's the right thing to dig your heels into the ground on but let's say we get some
there's still a million other things that are wrong yeah with what's happening um essentially it's
just i i don't even know what my question is it's more that i'm putting it out there that this feels
so impossible and the position that we find ourselves in or that they find ourselves in i have a hard
time identifying with the democratic party but um because also what do you what's your other option to
talk about, you know, that is, like, you're saying, like, this is a very, very specific
pointed thing you can talk about.
Health care is a concern for most people generally.
They're going to do something no matter what.
Like, they would, if it was, if you brought something else, they would be like, but they're
they want illegals to have health care or like they're trying to trans your kids or whatever.
They would do something.
They would trans your kids.
You know, like they would just do something, uh, no matter what.
And all I, I, JD Vance is out there being like, you know, you can't, you can't, you can't, you
You can't just use this process to get something you want and shut down the government for all these services.
It's like, J.D., you were saying literally the opposite one year ago.
You were, like, the Republican Party literally did this so many times about health care.
It's always, it's almost always about health care.
Like, look up government shut down Republicans' health care.
It happens all the fucking time.
So to have J.D. Vance be like, we would never, like, this is not who we are.
It's only who you are.
I hate that guy.
the difference is the Democrats will negotiate and like give you some stuff that you want for better or probably worse probably worse you know that's how politics works you have to compromise yeah to that point I this could be positive or negative probably negative everything's negative new Pew research uh shows that uh yes the approval for like democratic leadership in Congress is uh so low it's to the point
that the approval of Republican leadership in Congress was in 2014,
which many are pointing out was the year before Donald Trump took over the entire party
and made them bow to him.
So either Bernie 2028 and there's a choice.
Cody should run for office.
Oh, God.
Cody 2020.
Warmo 2028.
So again, it's like good bad, bad probably.
They just, they're just flage.
and people don't.
I'm sorry, I just don't want to brush past what you said there, Wormbo.
Is there anything in our Constitution against a puppet running?
I don't think so.
We just breathed right past it.
He's definitely old enough.
He's like thousands of years old.
He's a US citizen work.
Yeah.
Well, it's worth...
Exactly.
Yeah.
He was born in some sort of nether region though, so maybe that would prevent.
But it was like a pocket universe that was made in America.
The continuation of the United States.
United States.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
I don't know.
I need to see a birth certificate, though.
Let's see.
Oh, I can make a birth certificate.
Oh, that's not.
I mean, I can find it.
I mean, I can find it.
I'll find it.
I'll find his certificate.

Okay, I think we should move on to another topic, because boy, are there other topics?
There's a lot of hot topics.
Oh, our military convention.
Get your meatwad wallet.
It's a hot topic.
I miss them all.
Okay.
Huggseth, Trump speeches.
What happened with our unprecedented top secret broadcast military presentation?
I just think there are two very specifically funny things to me.
First of all, that whole thing could have been an email.
Just number one, everything you said could have been an email.
Number two, the like, Cody, you're a musician.
As soon as you heard that buzz, we know exactly what that is.
The mic line is crossing over the power line.
And it is so funny because all you got to do is separate the power
were from the mic cables.
It would have solved everything.
And then my favorite part was how many times
everybody that spoke had pauses for applause
and for jokes realizing you are talking to generals.
None of them are going to laugh.
This isn't just Charlie Kirk Memorial.
This isn't like laughing.
This isn't like, it's just like what do you,
what do you think you're doing?
It was like watching, it's like watching,
it's like watching a like a 2024 Marvel movie
on video by yourself
where like they have like oh the cameo happens
and then there's like this long pause in the movie
that they put in because they know the audience is supposed to clap there
that's why they edit them like that
and it's like this isn't for this isn't for this
when he said FAA FO and he's like paused
dude what are you doing
in other words to our enemies
F-A-F-O
Just the heck-seth thing
Like to your point
Prop to all the mic stuff and everything
It's like he needed to be like moving
You know
It seems like he's got a lot of really like
Anxious energy too
There's some reporting that he is losing it
That he's like
No just like losing it
Like just like not having a good time
A lot of outbursts
And just like not keep
keeping it together.
But he's got all this like nervous energy and he can't like, you, you imagine like,
oh yeah, Secretary of Defense is going to give a speech.
You're at the podium and you stand there and like you do.
You're like you're in the military.
You fucking stand still.
You fucking asshole.
Anyway, Jonathan, you go.
So this is, again, they called generals and admirals and senior military officials from all
over the world at the cost of whatever millions of dollars.
I can't get over that.
Less again, I never tend to care.
Less than we're giving to Argentina, so.
Yeah.
Fucking wild.
So they all had to sit here and listen to this is first the Secretary of Defense slash
War, I guess, Peter Fox and Friends.
The Secretary of War, I'm sorry.
One last.
Secretary of War just sounds like something, no, I'm the Secretary of War.
Yeah, he's playing his election.
You're 13.
He's 13.
You're 13 years old.
that right it's so lame okay anyway okay let's watch the secretary of war let's watch the
no joke mcgee over here we fight wars to win not to defend defense is something you do all the
time it's inherently reactionary and can lead to overuse overreach and mission creep war is something
you do sparingly on our own terms and with clear aims we fight to win we unleash overwhelming and
punishing violence on the enemy.
We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement.
We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill
the enemies of our country.
No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement.
Just common sense, maximum lethality, and authority for warfighters.
That's all I ever wanted as a platoon leader.
He's discussing how he wishes he could do more war crimes.
I just jotted down some of these words, overwhelming violence, demoralize, you know, maximum fatality.
This is not actually what you want.
I mean, right?
Those are war crimes you're describing.
Yes.
We have the whole image of America, which I have issue with.
But, okay, we're the good guys, right?
Our propaganda, we're the good guys.
We protect the underdogs.
We are, you know, morally super, whatever bullshit you want to describe that we've been sold our whole lives.
This is the opposite of it.
This is about destruction.
This is the, like, the physical embodiment of, like, whose man's is this?
Like, the whole room, as soon as he said, we fight, like, I imagine all I'm saying, no, we don't.
We, no, we fight with honor and integrity.
We, what?
Like, you know, they're all like...
Rules of engagement.
No, we believe in rules of engagement.
That's...
No, we believe in honor.
What do you...
What?
And even convention was woke.
Yeah, basically.
I say that...
He says, politically correct.
Political correction.
The last unwoke thing the military did
was drop two nuclear weapons.
And then after that, we just got too...
To woke.
Vietnam was woke.
By, like, banning.
The important thing about this
is what Heggseth just said.
Keep this in your mind.
And we untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize hunt and kill the enemies of our country.
And I think in conjunction with that, we need to show this clip from the president of the United States, speaking after him, talking about how we go after hunt and kill our enemies.
Only in recent decades did politicians somehow come to believe that our job is to police the far reaches of Kenya and Somalia, while America is under invasion from within.
we're under invasion from within no different than a foreign enemy but more difficult in many ways
because they don't wear uniforms at least when they're wearing a uniform you can take them out these
people don't have uniforms but we are under invasion from within we're stopping it very quickly
after what hex has said saying no different than a foreign enemy
uh this is i don't we'll see what comes
of it, but it's so fucked up that this happened in front of all these people. And it's,
I keep coming out of the quote. We've mentioned it before. This idea that fascism is imperialism
turned inward. That's what he's talking about. He's saying, like, we used to do this. We used to do this.
We used to invade all these foreign countries. Now it's looking inward. Um, an invasion from within.
That's nonsense. That's fascist nonsense. And it's so harrowing to see, to hear both of those things be said
by the Secretary of War and the President on the same stage.
That's the point of this whole thing.
Like, we're going to talk about other stuff and other, like, really fucked up weird things that were said.
But that is the takeaway, in my opinion.
I take so much, like, and I might be wrong, but just the, I'm reading what I want to read into it.
But, like, just the body language and silence of the room somehow gives me solace.
that they're just like what the
can we go back to work
yeah i think that's an important
point i mean we don't know
what the thoughts are of all those people
but the energy says a lot
before we started recording
we mentioned to each other
this ken clippenstein
piece that he just put out yesterday
where he got a copy of
the organ the head of the organ national
guard sent out of an
email to everybody
because these things can be sent out by email
instead of live and it's essentially
but essentially it's this
this person is acknowledging that this is hard
saying you know
you might be in a situation that you don't want to be in
I'm not quoting it I'm just giving the gist
you know you might
we will stay calm
we will be respectful
I understand you know
comport yourselves well,
but essentially acknowledging
that this is a really difficult moment,
but that we are going to stay calm.
And I think it's good to keep in mind
that the National Guard
are trained differently than police.
There are level-headed people.
They are.
They don't want to be doing this.
But I will say,
there is that element of it.
And at the same time,
I read that letter, I'm like,
okay, but they're like,
we're going to do it.
It's like, this is a bad uncomfortable situation.
But I do agree with you on that.
I do understand your point of like, at least they're saying it's bad, but like they're also saying, and we got to do it.
Like stay, you know, stay the course.
Obviously, Hexeth's saying, we're going to go on to hunt our enemies and Trump's saying all these people in America are no different from a foreign enemy.
Fucked up.
It could very potentially lead to the military doing something really, really horrible.
But more than likely, it's just going to be the police or ICE doing this.
Like the people who will eventually shoot somebody, it's ICE or the police.
They are the bloodthirsty, uncoordinated ones.
They actually don't even like interacting with each other.
They don't like coordinating with the National Guard.
Like there's no there's no cohesive sort of like unit or like goal there.
It's probably going to be the police or ice.
But it could be the military because clearly they want it to be.
so yeah a lot of this is like and I'm not saying it's not scary and it's not real and has the
potential to become real and worse but a lot of what they're doing is fascist cosplay to make
you think true it's all it's done it's over we've got the military we've got all this it's clear
you know it's not like in some other countries that haven't had kind of like a stable
foundation of the way we all grew up and the way we understood this country to work that's
not what, you know, they had in Hungary when Orban did what he did, not what they had in Russia
when Putin did what he did. Trump and his crew are trying to do the exact same thing, but this
is not the same situation, and they just want you to think it's a done deal. Yes. Yeah, they want,
they want us demoralized and stuff. They said it in the speeches, you know. Totally. They said,
like, the left isn't fighting all this kind of stuff, like, which, you know, maybe they're not.
Maybe they're not. But it is, a lot of it is cosplay. It's just to how effective it is, cause
play gonna be yeah being like here in the like during like the the jump off the ice raids and
all the stuff has happened like really being outside the front line when the militaries got here
when the national guard got here it was visibly clear that neither the national guard or the marines
wanted to be here like right here i live eight minutes from alameda like right where the
courthouse it was like they were as active as we were they was standing there with their arms
to just like not showing it but showing it being like we don't need like just right visibly
annoyed exactly yeah that they had to be here and like and obviously it didn't make the news
when both of them left it was very quiet and but the madness kept happening because the madness
was these these ice agents who are pretending to be cops yeah real quick sorry I'm rewatching
Battlestar Galactica for a podcast with our friend Michael Swain.
It's amazing.
And we're on episode two of the first season.
And I was watching it last night to refresh myself.
And I was like, and Adama, Admiral Adama just said this out loud.
I was going to read this.
Like, it was just like, I saw the speech from yesterday.
And then, like, I was watching this.
And he's just like saying it.
Like, there's a reason we, there's a reason why you separate military and the police.
One fights the enemy of the state.
the other serves and protects the people.
When the military becomes both,
then the enemies of the state
tend to become the people.
It was just wild that I watched that
like immediately after.
Also, Adama, do the police protect
and serve the people?
But that's the different conversation.
But like, just like that's exactly
what they're saying.
That's what Trump said.
He said it's not just a foreign enemy anymore.
It's us.
It's everybody.
Anyway, we can move on.
A couple more things about this speech.
Another element of it.
was stressing the new requirements for physical fitness, for everybody in the military.
Lots of saying there shouldn't be anybody fat.
Frankly, it's tiring to look out at combat formations or really any formation and see fat troops.
Likewise, it's completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the
Pentagon and leading commands around the country in the world.
It's a bad look.
It is bad, and it's not who we are.
So whether you're an airborne ranger or a chairborn ranger, a brand new private or a four-star general, you need to meet the heightened weight standards and pass for PT test.
There's so much progress that's been made in lots of ways and less than other ways about the conversation about weight and physical health.
You can be any size and be very healthy.
You can be very strong.
I know people that present larger, that can blow you out of.
the fucking water
athletically mountain biking, skiing
snowboarding, all the things. It is nothing
to do with your performance. It has
absolutely fucking nothing to
and to pretend
as if just
insult it. It's just so insulting.
And it's also got
a trickle-down effect. There's so much about it.
The new standards
really trying to
ice women out. Yeah.
You know, trying to
reframe this as this is a friend.
a place for for strong men strong men and it's not it's not even just that I'm all over the place
requirements on shaving yeah years which prop I mean maybe you could speak to this I don't have thoughts on
all of this yes you know yes I was going to say that's hard specifically for black men he's good yes
they're they're they're just rolling back so many things that we have gained over the last 15 years
that has improved the morale has expanded the the types of people that we have
have serving with us. I'm just so enraged by it. And it's, of course, not the
headline here or it shouldn't be because some of those other stuff is very chilling.
But so is this. Also, one more point. Are we pretending that we're in those, that we're still
using like trench warfare? Where is changed? Like the requirements are, most of them are
pressing buttons. Not to say that I don't want soldiers. I mean, I, lots of thoughts about
the military. People should be in shape and be able to carry their packs and, you know, do all the
things and they are it's i was going to say like aren't they like is there what is you
talking about like are they not you know to do this stuff you got so like a number of thoughts
yeah the first thought is like okay clearly you haven't set foot in a gym in years because you've
never seen a power lifter and i'm like the person that my wife's personal trainer is this fluffy
dude who is the strongest human i've ever met in my life like so first of all you looking at
somebody in thinking they're strong or weak means you haven't been in a gym in years.
Also, there's a little five-foot-three girl at this gym.
I go to gym right here downtown, right here downtown, L.A., this little tiny girl, I just saw her put
two 45 plates up, so I'm like, you don't know what you're talking about, number one, right?
Number two, I don't need to know if my surgeon, what my surgeon can bench press.
I need to know, you know what the hell you're talking about.
I don't care if the generals can do push-ups.
I need to know you understand war, right?
And like, and can you code?
Can you code a computer thing to make sure that when you drop your deadly-ass drone strike
that you hitting a military site and not a school?
I don't care if you can do a push-up.
I need to know you know that you can read a map.
I don't care of you.
So that's, so you, again, you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
But lastly, about like what you said about the shaving thing, it's this, these are the
types of like racism things that become very frustrating to explain because they seem like such a stretch. But the pressure you're putting on someone because to your point, generally for African American faces for men, we just can't use regular bick razors because we break out. You get a lot of ingrown hairs. You get a lot of razor bumps. I know you've seen it before just out and about. It just it can get super painful.
So we have to use, like, clippers that you would do to, like, cut hairs,
which are, like, either electric or battery powered to do that.
But oftentimes, even that if you don't have rubbing alcohol or peroxide or any of these other things
to make sure that you don't break out, it becomes incredibly painful and impossible to keep up with.
So for this man who clearly, like I said, you ain't been in a field in forever.
and you also have not been in a gym forever,
you're adding to this platoon you so love,
you're adding stress to it because now one of your members,
one of your guys are in excruciating pain
that they didn't have to be in had you not made them shave.
So you just created a problem.
Yeah.
What is the point?
For aesthetic aesthetics.
Right.
It's for fascist aesthetics.
That is his entire point.
You're in the middle of nowhere protecting your country
and you got to go try to shave or,
whatever. This is bullshit. I mean, just look at, just look at Department of Homeland Security's
Twitter page, White House's Twitter page, Department of Defense's Twitter page. They just put out
fascist propaganda all the time. They want this image in their head that is that aesthetic
of like clean-shaven white T-man type person and only that. Hegseth for the past, I mean,
we've seen it online whenever, whenever Russia or China drops like a military recruitment video,
every right wing blue check is like oh they're making us look so oh my god and we've got our blue
hair military like it just makes them feel like less than um and they want to feel more than and
so they're putting all these rules so that they may feel that way to bring it back to where we
started prop it could have been an email even if you want to do all of this why do I need to get
all of our top generals and military officers in one place uh it's going to leak to
signal chat to just say this
just say
I would just man if we could have just
somehow got into
like whatever
like bar these
generals went to after
and just like
just hear them be like
heard what the fuck
what are we doing guys
yeah I would love that
can you fucking believe this guy
can you believe this oh both of them
both of these guys yeah yeah totally like
just sweat it out
the manic one
and the really
really really tired one
oh
he dropped a 1488
we gotta mention that at least
like he dropped a 1488
snuck something in there
you guys want to watch this I mean we can play it
we can not play it it it's just he just like
he dropped it was technically
11,000
488
but he just dropped a 1488
about like how many like
murders happened or
murders happened from the people
Biden let in. It's a made up
number. It's a made up fucking number.
And Stephen Miller knew
1,488 would
one be too direct and two's too small a number.
So let's make it 11,488.
Everyone's going to know,
or at least the people I want to know
that I'm, that are listening to me.
They're going to know. And we make up
every other number anyway. But we can't
call them fascists. Like you're just
you're telling us. It's in
it's so insidious.
and frustrating.
It doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter.
But I just want to add
that Stephen Miller is 41.
Fascism just is destroying your face.
Eating him out.
It has been eating him out.
Since childhood.
Ew.
It's being devoured.
It's eating him from the inside out.
That is inappropriate.
He is a sexual matator.
I've heard that he is a sexual matator.
I've heard that I'm sorry that that's what the way it came out of my mouth,
but it is.
And there's unfortunately no way to edit it.
around it.
Before we are done today, we do have one more story to get into.
No.
Well, potentially something.
Oh, yeah.
We got to talk about this.
You're right.
We got to talk about the Gaza peace plan that's on the table.
Yeah.
So the Trump administration has presented a 20-point plan, which would end Israel's
assault on Gaza.
Netanyahu has apparently agreed to it.
and Hamas is reviewing it.
Trump says if Hamas does not accept the deal,
he will give full support to Israel to do, quote,
what it has to do.
The plan is better than a lot of the alternatives.
I have to say it allows people who live there to stay there
or to leave and come back.
It ends all the bombings and all Israeli forces
go back to the previous lines.
once the
however many hostages
are returned then there's
2,000 quote unquote prisoners
including women and children that will go back
aid goes in they can
rebuild UN stuff
like the stuff you would want
in a end to
this conflict
is in there and then it's got
some other stuff and then other stuff
Mia Cody just had a mind meld moment
because I was like I
know I'm thinking what you're thinking
but anyway yeah i mean
what were you thinking
you can go prop i got i got my thoughts i got
i mean we probably we probably agree
we probably agree i'm like well this isn't
this isn't a deal it's not a deal
this is you lost this is just admitting you lost right so it's like yeah
put down your weapons and then the war will stop i mean
i know like like that's not a that's the whole give up your
give up the hostages and put down your weapons and then we'll have a peace deal.
No, you mean you want me to lose.
Yeah, disarm and then the United States of Israel will be in control of the area.
Of course the war is over.
Of course it's the war is over if I stop fighting.
Like, what do you, that's not a deal.
Nothing that guarantees Palestinian statehood.
The next day or the night of Netanyahu went out.
I was like, we're not really, we don't really believe in this deal.
Like, they're not going to get, there's never going to be a two-state solution.
We're also not, like, he mentioned something like they're not actually going to leave.
Like, they have no intention.
Like, they have to leave.
So there's, he just says it out loud.
Let's keep going through some of these other points.
Well, because Trump is clearly being taken for a ride here.
But it's like, if we could do this, it's the next step of the thing.
Like, Hamas will be out of government.
Hamas members can either leave Gaza or.
or get rid of their weapons
and commit to peace
and then there's amnesty.
But then there's going to be
a temporary transitional governance
of a technocratic,
a political Palestinian committee
responsible for delivering
the day-to-day running
of public services and municipalities.
This committee will be made up
of qualified Palestinians
and international experts
with oversight and supervision
by a new international transitional body,
the Board of Peace,
which will be headed and chaired
by President Donald J. Trump
with other people, including,
Tony Blair
to be on this Board of Peace
Tony Blair
Remember him?
I've forgotten
but now I do
Yeah
This is the thing
Like they
Like no intention
to actually do any of it
Obviously
Why would
He said it out loud
Um
It's completely disarmed
So then
You're owned by
Donald Trump
And the Israeli government
Which will be armed
surrounding you for an
indefinite amount of time
it just seems like
a big lie and scam
but again it's like
it's I also want to say it's like not
my place to say
if true people in Gaza
and Palestinians want this and this is
what ends the genocide
which was just recently
the UN had just admitted
that it was then
ending genocide is good
I just find this plan to be
completely full of shit
and who wants Donald Trump
in charge of the Board of Peace
to control Gaza.
He tweeted out this fucking like
Gaza resort with Trump's name
on it. A.I. Slop. Like what
is this? Well, the next part of this. Trump also
gets to help with an
economic development plan
including thoughtful investment
proposals and exciting development
ideas. It just seems like
we did the genocide and
Now they're gone.
So now we can do our plan.
That's, to me, that's what this is about.
Yeah, it's a power grab.
It's a land grab.
And it's so like, I feel like they press, they really push this through now because
countries are starting to acknowledge Palestinian statehood.
So it's like, oh, we better move now.
You know what I'm saying?
So I, to me, it's that.
And then like you said, like, it's none of this is going to actually happen except for
that last part, which is like, we're just, we're going to, we're going to make you leave.
and I'm going to own it.
It's just, you're, but you're signed up for it.
You can stay, but I don't think this is going to be a pleasant place for you to be.
You can stay, but it's not going to be the country that you've ever known, you know.
To me, that's like, yeah, we won't force you to leave, but are you going to want to be there?
There's always that lurching of just like, yeah, like, would Trump just be the last person to talk to him?
the fact that there is a potential deal on the table where people are allowed to live and the carnage will stop is like I want the carnage to stop but I'm not trying to give the impression like oh this is a good deal and Hamas should take it like I think no matter what they come back with Netanyahu's going to say like see they're being unreasonable and they keep going the way they're going right now they killed 59 people just as of today while we were recording right the carnage and that
just continuing. And that's a thing too. Like if, because also Trump said like, well, if they
reject it or even I assume if they have like a counteroffer, he'll be like, well, never mind,
go for it. Like he said he would just support whatever they're going to do, which is, as you
said, 59 people since then. So like, there's that sense like, okay, here's this peace deal, but
we're going to keep it going while you read it. Like that's, that's like, so the idea of like,
Okay, so complete disarmament and the governor of peace or whatever, Donald Trump and a militarized Israel surrounding the area, that seems like it's going to be a different kind of violence.
But again, carnage stopping good if they want to.
Okay.
That's exactly how I feel.
It's, I don't look at this and trust it.
I don't look at this and think that Gossans come out ahead.
I don't look, obviously, I don't look at this and see that there's any accountability to Israel over what they've done for two years now, essentially.
And with this circumstance, with these people in charge, I don't know what kind of a better deal.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I want the carnage to end.
And it's impossible and horrific.
And if people stop being brutally murdered every day, that will be at least something.
Yeah.
But we'll see because I don't have faith in bop, in the head bop in any of it.
It seems as if we've lost prop.
Probably a good time to wrap this up anyway.
Yeah.
We thank him deeply.
You are.
You were a great guest.
Please go check out his stuff, Hood Politics, his album, especially if you're a Grammy voter, you know. Check it out.
