Hi, hello. On today's episode, we talk about conservatives trying to generate controversies that don't exist about the WNBA and 9-11.
Plus, we talk about the new Daily Wire Plus trailer.
Wowie and Zowie folks, welcome back to even more news. The first, the only, the news, the podcast, the network, the phrase that we say at the beginning.
Hi, I'm Cody Johnston. And with us today is not Katie.
I'm so sorry she is out this episode, living her life.
But with us, as always, Jonathan is also here, the name of him.
Hi.
Yeah.
We should housekeep for everyone because there's this episode.
Then there's going to be a new some more news in a couple days.
And then at the end of the week, we'll be releasing a thing we'll be.
recorded in advance. Not about the news. Not about the news. And then next week we're off completely.
So this will be the last even more news for two weeks. No more news, folks. You can just go out and live.
You can, you don't have to worry about the news at all. It'll still be going on actually.
Sure. I mean, I say no more even more news after this for two weeks unless it or something
close to it happens and then wherever we are in this crazy world we'll get our phones out. All the video
will be vertical because we'll all be in different places. Sorry vacation, we'll say. And the thing happens.
So here we are talking about the thing. Or thing adjacent. There's a couple of things that could be
thing adjacent. Who knows? There are a few things that would get us to do that. We don't have a list.
We don't have a list and we're not going to say any of my loud. And maybe we want some of them to
happen more than others and maybe we have no opinion. Who knows? We're not going to say until it happens.
Whatever it is, we don't know. We'll react to it, whatever it may be happens. We're just talking
about more another diarrhea story. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If there's more diarrhea, then we'll do an emergency
podcast. Well, it deserves an emergency podcast. That's that kind of thing. It's explosive.
But today, we are going to talk about the news. Yeah, yeah. Because like we said, maybe the next
week or so we won't be.
What's going on?
Well, the biggest thing in the conservative world right now is what we know they care about is the
WNBA.
Oh, they love watching and rooting for women play sports.
They love women's basketball.
They like going.
They like the whole thing.
They like the fever, the Valkyries, the et cetera's.
They love it all.
They know all the names and whatnot.
All the teams, all of it.
And so they care a lot about it this week because a couple of,
shitty
former and has been
NBA players
Enis Cantor
Freedom and Royce White
we'll talk about them
they say they're declaring
for the WNBA draft
because
we got you in an impossible
situation now
we're men but we're just
saying we're trans women
and thus must be eligible for the draft
right gotcha
they say
you know how the
when people are like
trans women, trans men or men.
We like believe, like, you know how we're also like, and if you are obviously lying?
Come on.
Yeah.
Yeah, we support you too.
The obvious liars who are making a bad point.
Excellent stuff.
The reason they're picking this battle right now is because the WNBA doesn't have, you know,
a fully written out policy for trans players.
There are no trans women in the WNBA.
So they don't have that.
But since there's nothing,
they're like playing by airbud rules, basically.
Like, since there's nothing in the rules that say you can't just say you're a woman,
since they won't say what a woman is in their book,
we can declare for the draft.
And obviously I'm full of shit and I don't want to do this.
And I just want your attention.
So give it to me.
And you can look up,
Enos Cantor Freedoms played in the league for like 11 years,
but his minutes are dwindling.
His time is over.
And so this is his thing.
Royce White was a first round draft pick, I think, in 2012 or something, but was never good,
only played in a couple games, logged a few minutes, does not have a point in the NBA.
And then retired, I believe, because he was afraid of flying and didn't want to take planes
everywhere, but also was not good enough to maintain an NBA career.
And so he's like a Republican Senate candidate.
I mean, this is just attention-seeking nonsense.
It's so obviously.
It's that's what, like, I'll just say, I almost didn't want to talk about this because
it's so like, they just want, they just want your oxygen, your attention.
They're just bothering people publicly is what they're doing.
This is just bothering people.
And of course, they're immediately showing that they don't care about women's sports
at all because they want to make a mockery of the biggest women's sports league in the country.
It's popular.
It's good.
People like it.
Like, they've got some great players.
It's fun to watch.
Not to them.
They fucking hate it.
No, they don't like it.
They think it's a bad product.
They think it's silly and stupid.
And, you know, anytime women in sports complain about getting paid so much less, they
scoff and mock it.
But anyway, they really care about the sanctity.
Integrity of women's sports.
This is all coming at the same time as this player, Sophie Cunningham, who's on the Indiana
Fever on the same team as Caitlin Clark, really good player.
Caitlin Clark's like the best, one of the best players, but she's white, and so the right
wingers all want Caitlin Clark to be their little white basketball player to say all their
racist stuff, and anti-trans stuff, and she won't do that.
She wants to, I would argue, shut up and dribble.
Yeah.
I also, ideally, she's not like racist and doesn't want to be a part of any of this stuff and knows it stupid.
But all, but like, she's wants to play basketball.
And so Sophie Cunningham a few weeks ago, when asked on in the press conference, she's like, oh yeah, this should be just for biological women and girls, whatever.
And like, gave them what they wanted, gave the right wingers what they wanted.
And so now she's taken...
Yeah, I'll be your hero.
Right.
It was like she put a toe in the water
and then within a week she's taking photos with Riley Gaines.
So, and then this weekend, a few days ago,
she took a hard foul in a basketball game
from a black player.
And now all the right wingers are saying
she's the victim of racial violence.
I want to read a Matt Walsh post.
Oh!
I don't know if you've seen this, Cody.
I've...
I scrolled past.
it, but I think I know which one you're talking about.
He says, it really is incredible that there's just outright racial violence happening in the WNBA.
Every men's professional sports league has black and white players and they aren't having these problems.
Remember this the next time a feminist tells you women should rule the world because they're more peaceful and empathetic or whatever.
So in this one tweet, he's got like his, this is why it's a perfect...
How do that?
This is a perfect culture war thing for them because they get to be racist.
they get to be anti-trans, they get to be misogynist.
They can be misogynist.
Like, it's all of them.
That's all the stuff they want to do.
That's like, it is actually an impressive tweet at how mean it is to so many different
groups of people who are not him.
And just like missing the, like, not like being accurate and just like the hysteria of it
all.
And I imagine that if it were reversed, they'd be like, there's just a foul.
It's not like, like the guy who's like, there's actually.
not like police don't you know kill black people he he wouldn't this is it the contrast is just
incredible uh what a guy who doesn't really believe much it's a hard foul people are fouled in the game
of basketball if you've watched a basketball game men's basketball as well there are hard fouls
as well people get in each other's faces but when it's a black player on a white player that
they've heard of and know and is their hero player they assume that's all anyone is thinking
about. No one's trying to win a game. The implication seems to be not just like, oh, you know how like women are
actually the violent ones or whatever he's trying to say, but also it's implying that black players
specifically are mad at Sophie Cunningham for her trans comments? Like there's no, like where does the racial
aspect come in in terms of like the dynamics? Like what like politically? What's what's the thing that's making
them go after her because of her race.
That's a separate.
They have combined two different WNBA culture war things.
So they've taken this whole thing because they've been on the black players foul Caitlin
Clark too hard.
There's racial violence against Caitlin Clark because of this.
Now they are bringing Sophie Cunningham into it who's not as good as Caitlin Clark.
But they're bringing her into it.
And so now white player gets fouled by black player.
That's it.
That's all they need to see.
They're doing the thing that they accuse the left of doing when a white cop
beats the shit out of ever shoots a black person, right?
They are doing that thing.
They don't know.
They don't watch the games.
As Matt Walsh, I think, has admitted before, he doesn't actually care or respect it.
No, he does not.
Yeah, I feel like he's one of the more honest ones, not all the time, obviously, and not about
everything, but just sort of like, yeah, we're just like doing the culture war stuff, right?
In fact, I don't know, we don't need to play it,
but there's a clip of Jesse Waters for a few days ago
when they were talking about this being like,
why are we still talking about this?
Why are we still talking about the WNBA?
Like, it's just a, like, he weirdly is frustrated
that his job is to talk about this stuff.
Yes.
He's supposed to talk about the culture war and only that,
but he's frustrated with it.
And I think it's because he's a misogynist,
and it's obviously because it's women's basketball,
If it were another sport, but the exact same dynamics were going on, he would want to talk about it.
But he doesn't like women.
So he doesn't think this is worth his time.
Well, it's also, like, for us, we're not a sports podcast.
We don't know all the, like, internal stories of all this stuff.
I mean, I went to a WNBA game yesterday.
It was fun.
Yes, you did.
But Jesse Waters does not know all the specifics.
He's like, I have to learn the characters for this new thing now.
like the thing where I know the characters already. Give me a famous person that I can like pick
apart and do all that stuff. Yeah. And then I'll do my mad libs and I'll do the thing that I do.
Right. And so it's funny because Jesse Waters wants to do the thing that the WNBA, the players
association said where they said we will not be used as political pawns because none of these
people jumping into it care or want anything to do with it. It's just a league that is growing
in popularity. It's as popular as it's ever been, but not among them.
or the Fox News viewers, it is a
thing on the wall for them to throw darts at
and they don't care what's on the poster.
Exactly, yes, exactly.
Good for them, I guess.
They got something to be mad about
but also mad at each other about
for having to talk about it.
I do want to, like, flow,
because I don't know what the perfect solution.
Their whole thing is like,
oh, we got the W.NBA into an impossible situation.
They can either let these people play
and then we've made a mockery of the sport or shut them out,
and then they're admitting that they don't believe women, right?
Like, they think they've got it in this, like, perfect finger trap.
Caitlin Burns in a blog post suggests that the WNBA could just do what the Olympics does
and a bunch of other leagues do where they require two years of testosterone suppression therapy,
and then you can play.
after that, by the way, a lot of studies have shown that trans women who've been on that
therapy for multiple years do not have any advantage.
In fact, they may be at a disadvantage.
That's what seems to indicate.
It's more complex and nuanced than people ever, ever, ever, ever want to discuss.
But that's also, I mean, to that point, it's like, there ain't no rule in the rule book
that says, so they're going to add this.
possibly these guidelines.
These are the same
Matt Wall.
I can't believe Matt Wall is just tweeting this about this.
They made Daily Wire made ladyballers
because they couldn't do this.
Like this little stunt that Enos and Royce are trying to do,
the people at the Daily Wire tried to join
women's basketball leagues as men to prove a point,
but they couldn't because of these guidelines.
so they had to fake it and make up a fake movie
to show the danger of the thing that they can't actually do.
So it's interesting that they're just trying to do it again.
Well, right.
They've made up a problem that doesn't exist
and are trying to exploit that problem.
I would also posit, like, that is 100% true.
Ben Shapiro has said we wanted to make a ladyballers a documentary,
but we couldn't.
You can't.
Right.
But also, I would posit that the people they got to potentially try to
do that could not compete in the leagues.
That's what I'm interested in.
Part of me is like, I can fucking go for it.
Like, who do those guys know?
Yeah.
Like the stars of the movie lady ballers?
I think those guys would get trounced in a league.
But in the movie, they depicted them not getting trounced.
Yes.
So in the movie, they played little girls.
So.
Oh, terrible.
Also, and just, I guess, final note on this stupid fucking story.
Apparently the Attorney General of Florida
is threatening basketball players
with being charged with assault and battery
for fouls in the game.
He's bad at the whole league,
this guy James Uthmeyer.
He says the WNBA knows better
than to play games down here in Florida
because I'll be charging people with assault
and then shows the foul.
And then he follows up with,
I should probably clarify,
assault and battery.
Oh, yeah, you made your tweet better.
You made it better.
So that's the thing they care about right now
I was going to say
Speaking of pretending to care about stuff
And inventing problems and people
That don't even fucking exist
This is this is
So dumb because it is
It's the same thing
It's not a problem
There was a New York Post article
I'll pull up this headline right now
Stay away
Thousands of 9-11 families
Demand Mom Donnie be banned
From 25th anniversary ceremony
and what that is referencing, because we're like, oh, really, thousands of 9-11 families are demanding Mamdani be banned?
For what?
And all that is referencing is a change.org petition that says, we think MomDani should stay away from 9-11 ceremony and it just lists a bunch of Muslim things.
And it has 81,000 signatures, but it is a change.
dot org petition.
It's not
that anybody
can sign.
It's not exclusive
to 9-11
families
and in fact
a story on
CBS news
that reported
that thousands
of 9-11
families wanted
Mom Dani Band
they picked up
this New York
Post story.
They changed their
story and updated
it to reflect
that a lot of
9-11 families
don't feel
that way and are
actually fine with
the mayor of New York.
Oh!
Because he's the mayor
of New York
and not as scared
very Muslim.
Yes.
It's quite, I mean, quite a story.
I mean, the New York Post story, it's not even like, yeah, they ran a story in their
website.
It's the physical paper.
Like, they printed it out.
They're just in the world now.
They're never going to retract that.
It's just in the physical world for people to read and freak out about.
And it's just, I don't know, it's obviously disgusting and stupid.
But I do think that there's.
something funny and potentially like, it's like, it's so good that he's the mayor.
Like this tension that keeps like presenting itself is I think perhaps like important to
continue of like just like, oh, we can't believe the mayor's doing this.
It's like, why?
And it's obvious that it's just hatred of Muslims.
That's all it is.
And there's nothing he said.
I'm sure that people are.
his best friend, Hassan Piker, or whatever they're going to say.
And it's just they're in their minds.
They associate any person with any other person that scares them.
Yeah.
And they create this boogeyman.
And it's like, no, he's just like filling potholes and stuff.
I don't know what you're like, what are you scared about?
Good for them for finding actual families who are like, what?
Yeah.
The CBS News headline now reads,
some 9-11 families defend Mayor Momdani's inclusion at upcoming remembrance ceremonies and actually
cites them, right? It's like reporting, it's journalism, unlike what the New York Post did,
which is like, look at some petitions and are like, oh, look at this, because the petition says
it is in this spirit that we, the family members of those murdered on 9-11, and I guess they've got
extended, you know, they've got all great grandchildren now because it's 81,000 plus people.
No
And also the petition's written by chat GPT
I know people don't care about it as much anymore
But like I'm reading this thing
And it says for 9-11 families
This is not simply a public ceremony hyphen
It is a deeply personal day of morning
Okay thanks you couldn't bother
You're so angry you couldn't bother to write it yourself
I'm losing this battle
No I know I know you are
And that sucks
And I don't think that the fight should be
ended or given up on.
I really, it's, it's a problem that people keep
like forgiving this or like just being like, yeah,
it's helpful, it's useful.
You're breaking your brain.
Like you won't be able to write anymore.
If you keep outsourcing your writing,
you'll write differently.
You'll write worse and more annoyingly.
And you won't be able to continue to do it.
You need to keep doing it in the same way.
you need to like talk to
it's just very frustrating and they won't
be able because they're all of the
models are aware of this the
Claude chat GPT they all know that they have
a it's not this but this problem
with it it's just like a very
simple framework for the models
to go to and they
can't program it out because
it is now more and more being trained
on AI slot that is being
spit out it's going to be a feedback loop
where it just becomes more
prevalent instead of less
prevalent and you see it you can't unsee it and it's it's a very specific way it does it and i it's
kind of indefinable like we all know that chat gpt will say not just this not just this but
this third thing yeah that's and people have written like that for a long time there's a reason it's
like a feature of it like yeah it's trained on stuff but yeah like here's a stephen a smith
tweet i'm going to read i guess mike will bond the
the sports journalist and commentator
said Stephen A. Smith is not a journalist anymore.
And so Stephen A. Smith tweets,
so I brought my longtime friend and colleague on the show
to say it to my face.
No scripts.
No dodging.
Just an honest conversation about journalism,
television, friendship,
and where the line really is.
Stephen, you don't talk like that.
You don't talk like that at all.
That's not you.
That's absurd, man.
Be you.
It's not even like,
it's a tweet.
Just write your own fucking tweets.
His whole job is talking.
like himself and making himself a person out like it's very very frustrating and it is everywhere now
and people might just get used to it they might just not notice or be fine but us i don't know
maybe it's like pompous that us highfalutin writers are like but i can't read anything anymore
it's no good i just like i i i keep seeing more and more people dip into it and i guess i i will
maintain it for as long as it's fucking possible that we just like do our own research and write our own things and make sure we're like writing our own sentences and stuff it's just like some more news scripts are never perfect right no fine tune we write we fact check we do all this stuff and i think now there's something like joyous about imperfection in writing like i like just seeing that a person wrote a thing even if it's like not great writing or whatever
Yeah.
That's the Some More News promise.
Like, no matter what.
No matter what.
Unless they like make it illegal and like make it really, really difficult.
One night a year we can not use chatting.
One night a year, you can write your own script.
God.
Yeah, it's just very, very frustrating.
And I do appreciate just like, yeah, even if it sucks, you're doing it yourself.
We don't need to talk about it much, but or at all.
but there's a video going around over the weekend and everyone has an opinion on it.
It's a guy playing guitar and he's very technically talented.
It's not for everybody.
Yeah.
It's not for me.
I don't like it.
But it's like, but he's a real person at least.
He's doing it for real.
And also that video in particular was like for education purposes.
It's not like here's my song, enjoy it.
It's like here are all the techniques and skills you'll learn, whatever.
But just like real people doing real stuff is just let's keep it.
up folks I like it create your art publish anything even if it sucks it's great it's you it's
soulful keep it have no fear anymore right because you'll be able to tell it came from in there
deep inside your right it's like yeah it'll it's gonna and even like oh i'm learning an instrument
it's going to suck for a while everyone hates hearing it i love hearing it now i think it sounds
amazing it sounds like shit but it sounds so good like just you know a streaming channel has to be
good when I tell you to watch it while you're literally watching something else.
Isn't that wild?
You theoretically could always be using the product I'm talking about while you're watching
me talk, but in this instance, you can't because you're here, not on Pluto TV, but
anyway, I digress.
You should definitely go there instead of here, eventually, not now.
After we're done recording this, after you're going to watching this.
But soon, you can go there so you can glop up.
up straight glop, like
Top Gun, Maverick, Transformers,
Rise of the Beasts, Dungeons and Dragons,
honor among thieves, and award-winning films
from international and art house filmmakers
like Whispers of the Morning,
screams of an afternoon,
the marriage of Maria Menuno's,
golly, fear sure does eat the soul,
eraser butt,
Y, E, two,
llamas tambian. Jules and Jim and they clash me outside. How badda lady. Eight and two
thirds. Yo Jimbo. G for ginger snaps. Betaville. Betaville. My cat is a wife now. Richard
geared the wrath of God. A groc work white. Last year at Marian Alago. And sock.
Stream all the goodies after you do the goody, goody streaming here.
But do it.
Regardless, just go ahead and do it.
Pluto TV, stream now, pay never.
Finish watching this video first, though.
There's this burrito thing where someone mentioned a $20 burrito and the right is really tearing each other apart because parts of the right are like, you can't afford a burrito anymore.
Burritos are $20 and other parts of the right.
Like, ah, you're not a real man.
because you don't buy tortillas
and make your own cheap burrito.
Even, like, even, uh,
Dan Crenshaw came out.
Uh, even he was like,
just do it everybody does and eat ramen for like,
for a year,
whatever.
And it's just like so funny that if,
if this was a different year,
for example,
2022,
2023,
um,
you know what?
2012,
2013,
uh,
whatever was going on in those years.
Yeah,
whatever.
let's just pick a year and
decide, let's just decide
in that year the president's a Democrat
if anybody was like
stuff's too expensive and like
a Democrat was like just like
eat bread every day or like
just like fucking ration your shit man
they would be so mad they would say this is America
you shouldn't be doing this we're the greatest
country in the world you don't you don't have to
like it's just so silly and some
conservatives are pointing that out like
hey we did this same thing a few years
ago we ignore the affordability discussion at our own risk like Trump can say it's a hoax
and stuff but like this ruined a presidency $20 billion, $16 burritos ruined a presidency, now they're
$20 and you get diarrhea if you eat.
And you get diarrhea because you can't put jalapenos, salsa, guac, lettuce, et cetera.
Oh, God, there's so many things you can't put in your burrito now.
So keep that in your mind that there's this $20 burrito discussion happening on the right.
then Mark Thesson, a Washington Post op-ed columnist, conservative guy, writes,
Cry me a River, the burritos in the college cafeteria are included in your meal plan
reacting to a college person complaining about a college person.
I don't even know what I'm saying anymore.
So J.D. Vance quote quits this guy, who I can't emphasize enough is on his side.
It's a conservative on his administration.
Not even just like he's a conservative, but like he seems to be on his side on this issue.
Right.
It's unclear.
It's confusing.
They're not, yeah.
Not only conservative, but agrees with the administration that you should shut up is basically.
Right.
Like, he's trying to help you.
J.D. Vance tweets, I'm surprised to hear Mark say this.
If you've ever met him in person, it's quite obvious the man has never missed a burrito.
Okay.
Mm.
I have, I've got like.
three different things to say on this and we're probably going to cross over
Cody but you say I'm I'm here for all of it I've got my thoughts and it probably
are the same but I know you wanted to talk about this since this was tweeted yes then this is
like a week ago is a week ago at 648 a.m. we held it until katie's not here so that we can
really dig in because because Katie would look at this and say I don't I don't even want to give
this guy why do we yeah what is this one tweet about burritos?
This is like not the news.
So one of my things is about the structure of the joke
because J.D. Vance shouldn't be surprised to hear Mark say this
because the point Mark is making is that you should be able to have burritos.
They're in your college cafeteria.
So he's saying don't abstain from burritos.
So the joke would be, I'm not surprised to hear Mark say this.
It makes sense that Mark would be,
say this because if you've ever met him in person and then make the joke you were trying to make.
Yes, because Mark is saying, I know where all the cheap burritos are. And so, Jay, do you like,
oh, yeah, because of the thing, because of whatever. That's what you're trying to, right, but it's,
you reversed it and you couldn't even do your bad joke. Yeah, no, they, right off the bat,
he's like not quite grasping his own premise or the conversation or like what Mark's saying or
what he's saying. Maybe he doesn't know who this person is. I don't think that's the case. Maybe not, but
like his tweet implies that he does because that they're friends. He implies that they're friends and
is this a gentle ripping or is this like he's being mean? What's going on with this tweet? I think it's
trying to be a gentle ribbing but he also intentionally misspells his name because his name M-A-R-C is right
there. It's written right there. He writes M-A-R-K. Maybe not intentional, but he's
does that kind of thing.
Yeah, he does do that kind of thing on purpose.
JD will be like, whatever, whatever her name is, Kamala Harris, whatever, I don't know how to
pronounce it.
Yeah, but that's extremely calculated.
And like, same thing with like the mom-dami kind of stuff or whatever.
But this just, I think, points to his laziness and his disinterest in this entire thing, but
he wants to have a tweet because that's what he cares about.
Yes.
And then the third thing
Glasshouses, J.D.
And listen, you're the one who made the joke.
You are trying to poke at Mark Thiessen's weight, apparently.
You know what one of the jabs about your appearance has been over the years.
It very much bothers you as it should,
as people shouldn't be joked about for their weight.
It's unnecessary, yeah.
But JD.
Glass houses.
Yeah.
Also, I mean, if you look up pictures of Mark, he's just a guy.
He looks, he's just like schlubby or whatever.
Like, there's no, I don't even, like, it's, it's the same build as J.D. Vance had a few years ago.
Yes.
He's just a guy.
And especially compared to J.D.'s boss, the dying man.
But, like, it's really, really stupid.
and bad job JD.
And it's like, to your point,
JD, this stuff obviously bothers you too.
So why are you doing it to other people?
And we know it's just how they operate.
They just like need to get all their like,
I've been bullied out by bullying other people and so on and so forth
and feeling so big.
They feel so big now.
But like a 20 year old who breaks his job.
jaw with hammers and does meth to lose weight made fun of him on a stream or like an interview.
And then he started to lose weight. Like that's more embarrassing than being a little overweight.
The fact that clavicular got J.D. to like go on OZempic or whatever because he doesn't have time to
exercise. He doesn't have time to look into the alien demons that he believes in. He doesn't have time for
anything. So it's just like, J.D.'s more embarrassing.
than if he didn't lose some weight, in my opinion.
I mean, I just don't understand.
Because he took a social media backseat a little bit
after Susie Weil said, cut the shit.
JD, especially, everyone, but cut the shit a little bit.
But like JD, yeah, yeah.
We have our people who can post for Trump
and Trump can say whatever he wants.
You're not him.
You're not him.
You can't do it.
He can't do this.
If Trump wanted to do this tweet, it would have been so much better.
And not that that's a compliment to him, he's, I don't, I don't even think he's, like,
really that funny anymore.
I just fucking hate the guy.
But, like, it would have been not this nonsense.
This is nothing.
Well, right.
Trump would make a joke.
He, like, he talks about how much cheaper OZempic is now under him and then makes fun of people
who use it.
Like, he has no concept.
And that's funny that he doesn't get the difference.
But J.D. should know how to.
structure a joke. He should
maybe
like he's he's pretending
that he's the kind of person
who wants to take cheap shots at people
and so him embodying
that is more embarrassing than if you
just were that guy. Yes. Him
trying to wear Trump's skin
with this tweet is
very, very embarrassing for him
and he shouldn't tweet. He shouldn't be
the vice president. He should just go
away.
I guess like
Speaking of everything we've talked about and these creating monsters that don't exist and finding any excuse to be racist and misunderstanding a lot of stuff and just being generally odious and distasteful, I guess we're going to watch some sort of Daily Wire endeavor into the arts.
Well, we talked up ladyballers already.
So we're really promoting all of their films.
The guy who wrote and directed and started late ballers.
80 ballers is gone from Daily Wire, but they're still doing it.
They greenlit stuff long ago that they got to make.
Was that $20 million bad Lord of the Rings not successful?
And then he had to go?
It was released on Daily Wire Plus, a subscription service that exists.
That's true.
I assume it was a success then.
All right.
Well, here's their new trailer.
Your country is beneath contempt.
We who love and serve Allah fought back
Against the Americans and the Zionists
From the scourge of secularism and the lands of unbelief
Sorry
Real tone shift there
Real tone shift
Like why they they say
I mean I know why they put in the line about Zionists
But like that's such a weird
It's not normally what you would see in the first 20 seconds
Of an action movie trailer
It's just so specific and so clear
like we hate when people use the word Zionist and we're just going to make it
do this sorry roll it back because I do think that transition was really really
masterful and I want to get I want to get in the mood for this romp
the Americans and the Zionists from the scourge of secularism and the lands of
unbelief you're going to listen to Captain Saunders tomorrow the retired Delta
4 soldier with a new book out he's the polar officer those brain dead protesters
Given the current climate, should please Saunders even be allowed on campus.
Mr. Saunders is a close personal friend of Chancellor Friedman.
This is a decision I cannot fly.
There are three ways Islam will conquer the West.
Through immigration, through the wounds of our women.
And by using our nation's freedoms against us.
Are you paying attention?
Kind of.
The previous trailer for this,
movie, if you remember it, posited a weird world where Sharia law had been instituted at a liberal
university and had existed for some time. What this shows that the movie is really about is just about
a terrorist attack at a college and a controversial speaker. They put all of their stuff into all
They cram this.
It's so like...
Yeah, the controversial
ex-delta force, whatever.
He's going to have to suit up and beat them back.
So it's really just the America versus Muslim terrorists movie from 30 years ago on a college
campus with a bunch of the Daily Wire propaganda interspersed.
Not that original thing.
No, it's very weird that they implied the movie was about something entirely.
different, which also stupid.
I don't want to watch that movie either.
Maybe it's just for one night only.
They institute Sharia law and the rest of the year or reverse.
And this is on one of the other days.
Yeah.
Also just I, the line about the through our women's wombs is just like they can't,
they can't stop thinking about it.
It's all they think about.
They just think about being like cucked constantly.
It's just like it's just like it's.
so weird they put it in everything
and they're just like
and they bring it as like we're protective of our women
and stuff but like yeah
yeah whoever the villain is
in the movie the producers
like so are they cucking us is the
is the villain of this film cucking us
no it's just a like a liberal
arts professor who's really
annoying they're like maybe in the movie
he can try to he can have sex with my wife
I don't I don't know if you want
if you think that makes it worse like very
villainous to have sex with my wife
Yeah, like we wouldn't want that.
It would be like, I'd be so fearful of that.
I'd be so fearful.
I'd be so fearful of somebody who showed up and I'd suck to my wife and like stare at me while they did it.
That's what every movie is about.
It's like, you know, these filmmakers just return to their same themes over and over again.
That's yours daily life.
This is it.
This is what you're doing.
This, I mean, this trend.
Like, it's.
It happens in lady ballers where Jeremy Boring's ex-wife is sleeping with hippie Matt Walsh.
Yeah.
Which is the worst thing that could possibly happen is sleeping with some hippie.
With some nice guy.
Yeah, it's like all they think about is they put it in everything.
It's just they can't.
And like there is just like this radiated divorce energy just like emanating from everything constantly.
I'm sure Elon will love this movie and empathize with the, I don't know, that one student who thinks of protesters are stupid or something like that.
Yeah.
They just say the thing.
They got to make a lot more sense.
than these protesters out here who don't know anything.
Like, because I feel like also these, like, Ben Shapiro didn't write this movie.
Somebody else did.
And they got, like, there are people who do make movies and write stuff, you know,
maybe not great stuff, but stuff.
And so the fact that it's got all of these so, like, ham-fisted, stilted,
just, like, so forced in ideological lines that's like,
if you go to the front page of the day,
Wire, here's what you would think that we think, and we're going to put it in this movie.
We're making real movies now, but all the dialogue is from a conservative podcast. Does that sound
fun for you? Like, it's just, like, so lazy and, like, I'm just wondering, was this
in the script and just the writer is bad, or were they like, we got to make sure that all this stuff
is in the movie? Like, how hands on was the Daily Wire? Or did they let them go and just
movies are shit now.
It's got to be part of the directive.
No, it has to be part of it.
Like, here are the things you should slip in and just make sure characters say.
They're probably also given the same Netflix advice.
Like, make sure they say it because people, if you look at their phones while they're playing this shitty movie that they're not actually watching.
Yeah, I mean, in the trailer earlier when she's like, oh, this guy, he's coming to campus.
Are you going to watch him?
And she's like, oh, he wrote this book.
He's retired.
He's doing this.
Like, it's everything.
The ex-Delta Force Marine who has got a new book out.
His name is this.
And it's just like, you've got to do a second draft.
You got to, oh my God.
So just like this, it's just so funny.
Like, we talk about it a lot of thought.
Obviously, they're not like good at this.
And like, it's such a waste of fucking money.
And the only people they're propagandizing to that'll have an effect is people who already fucking hate like these people and are fearful of everything anyway.
You're just making other people worse.
You're not like, whatever.
But it's all.
also just so funny that they can't even do a good version of it.
Like they, they're like, oh, Hollywood sucks these days because of wokeness.
No, Hollywood kind of sucks for a lot of reasons.
And one of them is this bad dialogue where you have to make sure that everybody knows what's
going on at every second of the day.
So like they're doing all the bad Hollywood stuff too.
In addition to this is obvious propaganda and not good or entertaining anyway.
Yeah, they're going back.
They want to go back to the 90s when the villains and the action.
movies were all like
Islamic fundamentalist terrorists.
But like true lies
doesn't have dialogue like this.
No.
I mean it's kind of goofy. It does have
it does have a guy
going on a monologue about why
blah blah blah. Oh yeah. Oh it's been
a while you're right. I'm sure
I would true lies is such a good movie
but I'm sure I would cringe at some of that stuff
today obviously.
But like executive decision doesn't
have this stuff
where they're just like laying out,
like we're fighting back against the secular Zionists or whatever.
So, you know, we hate our liberal professors.
Yeah.
And the protesters.
And you know what?
The mainstream media we should also mention.
And it is definitely a reporter in this.
God, yes.
Oh, God, yes.
I would, Matt Walsh doesn't play that role.
But I don't think they're putting him in the movies anymore.
No.
All their enemies are here, though.
And before, I guess we were going to go on, but I have to also mention,
speaking of Matt Walsh, I think this really speaks, just like really gets to the core of it.
Matt Walsh shared this trailer when the trailer was posted.
I'm going to read his tweet.
Here's the trailer for Run, Hide, Fight, Infidels.
The Wright needs more movies.
It's good that Daily Wire is making them.
Check it out.
Oof.
He's upset that he's not the ex-Delta Force guy.
He might be upset.
He's not it.
I think he just knows that it's bad because Matt Wall is also one of the only people on the right for all of his faults of which he has many. He's just a fucking fascist dumb prick. But he of all of them is always like, guys, we got to stop doing the culture stuff. We got to stop claiming that kid rocks great. We're not those guys. And it's sad when we do it. And this is just such a perfect example of him being like, well, the movie's out. And we need to have more movies. I'm not going to say it's.
good. I'm not going to say I'm excited about it. I'm going to say it exists. It exists.
The right needs more movies and here one is. Here is one. It's so good. Because this summer they
especially like lost the Odyssey. Spider-Man, I don't even, I haven't seen it. I don't think
it's even that woke. It's not culture worry. I don't think. I don't think they've done that really
with it. But it's just like a mainstream Spider-Man movie and it's huge toy story. None of the stuff
that's like injecting all this shit into it ever is big.
No.
And then they they put whatever they think the Odyssey is about on it and are mad that it's big.
Should we watch the rest of it?
I guess, yeah.
The great Satan America.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You are infidels.
The bodies of women are not pure and the men's souls are unclean.
A little on the nose, you know?
A little extremely on the nose.
They couldn't think of a second thing.
I had to do pure and unclean.
That's not...
Purple hair.
From what is coming.
We have to fight.
I will be rewarded 10,000 times in the next life.
When you die, you're nothing.
Only one way to find out.
No, it's the end of the movie.
That's the American way.
They just show us the end of the movie.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, that's so.
And then the credits roll, right?
It will appear on the sites
It will be on the sites
It will be on the sites
Good because
I believe pen dragons on there
Not that I've seen a second of that show
But
It's out there
It's just like
God it's so on the nose
They don't
That person
That terrorist guy is not going to be a character
Which is kind of what you want in a movie
Even if you want to inject all this stuff into it
And have him be the evil Muslim guy
Make them a character
That has qualities or anything
Good villain. If you don't have a good villain, you don't have gotten anything.
Unbelievable, these dunces.
It's so stupid. Also, like, a quick, quick shot of one of the terrorists seemingly cutting the throat of a purple-haired college student.
Because the left, the loony left, is too tolerant.
Right.
So it's the comeuppance of the tolerance is what that shot was demonstrating.
I almost promise earlier in the movie that purple-haired student is going to be talking about the importance of tolerance or like other ideas or like religious tolerance.
Something about maybe she has like a Muslim friend who she defends.
But then like his dad is one of the terrorists.
I don't know.
She is going to go up to that terrorist and say,
Maybe we can just make a safe space.
I'm going to try not to trigger you.
And then he's going to like cut her throat to prove that that stuff is all woke bullshit.
Yes.
That is 100% going to happen in the movie.
We should write this movie in the next couple of weeks and then see how close we are to the movie that gets released.
I mean, they showed most of it there.
So I think we could do it.
And Jonathan Majors is the star, whatever.
Also that, yeah, canceling and so on and so forth.
And congratulations.
I'm sure that it went.
well and he's great in it. I have to point out also sorry. I want to just they're not really good at
promoting their films. In the tweet of Ben Shapiro shared, the threat of radical Islam is real.
Hollywood has refused to tell that story for three decades. It's so funny. They literally are
just like, make true lies again, but worse. Yeah, make true lies again. Why aren't they villains anymore?
So funny. No one, make true lies, but put nobody charming in it. Make it not about.
anything except your stupid grievance bullshit.
Make them tell you directly to the camera who characters are and what they're doing and why they're
there.
And so, okay, so I think that's funny, but then the tweet continues.
Now we're saying the thing.
Terrible tweet.
Hollywood has refused to tell that story for three decades.
Now we're saying the thing with a very millennial of you, Ben.
God, terrible tweet.
Now, I'm going to get through this, I promise.
Now we're saying the thing with the biggest.
most audacious, funniest and most kick-ass film Daily Wire has ever released.
Here's the trailer.
And I just think it's so funny that he's saying, this is the funniest movie we've ever made.
It's an action film.
You've made a comedy already.
You don't think Lady Ballers is funnier than your terrorist action film?
I mean, the music, the tonal shift, did lead me to believe that the
rest of the trailer would have some like edgy jokes in it.
Levity of some kind.
It doesn't.
No, they didn't do an edgy joke.
They just tonally told you it's like the beginning of cabin in the woods folks.
It's just friends hanging out joking with each other.
But they don't joke.
They just describe a speaker that's coming to their school who wrote a book.
Everyone's talking about this controversial speaker.
And he's controversial because he hates Islam, I believe is the,
unless he's... I think that's a thing. But also it implies that he's friends with somebody.
He's like, he's friends with this person, which, again, is this right-wing grievance of, like,
the guilt by association stuff. Like, like, ostensibly saying, oh, he's, he's friends with Nick Fuentes or
whatever is what's going on in that part of the movie, because they have to put every single thing
in the movie. Otherwise, why are they making a movie? If not to lazily propagandized to you.
I would still hate all the stupid stuff and all the propaganda in the movie.
movie, but if they had just picked two of them, because they've got D stories, E stories, F
stories that they have to, or just like inject little things that have nothing to do with the
movie.
They have to have lines.
It's almost like, well, that just happened, except it's like, well, this thing that, like,
the thing we cared about on Twitter 18 months ago, yeah.
Well, the Chad, the squirrel or whatever, I don't know if we were.
Oh, right, the squirrel thing.
Maybe they have that in there, who knows?
There's going to be some, a kid at a fratars.
party is going to be drinking from a bud light can that has a trans person on it and he'll crush it
or whatever this movie has nothing to do with that but that'll be in there you got to put that in
otherwise again otherwise why are we making a movie and it's just the that approach the trailer
just says it all just like that approach is just not going to stick it's not going to get people
in the seats not that they are in the theaters obviously but like no just
Go to just like read a, just read a one daily wire article and you'll see this movie.
You'll see all the things.
No, this movie was meant to be played on Ben's wife's phone while she goes to sleep.
She doesn't finish it.
And then the next day, it was really good, baby.
You did a good job.
Yeah.
Look at that.
Executive producer, Ben Shapiro, just like you always wanted.
Just like you always want it.
Just like you always want it.
Okay.
I'm going to go do my real job now.
I'm going to go save some lives.
Can you fucking drop the kids off at school?
Like a woman, Ben.
It strikes me sometimes how close my life is to Ben Shapiro's,
minus the millions of dollars.
But like, hey, we'll get you there.
My wife is a public school teacher.
My wife has a real job.
She goes to work every day.
She goes, okay, honey, see you later.
I'm off to go like do some stuff.
You have fun.
Fun.
You're going to make fun of a movie trailer today.
good job you're fighting the good fight okay you drop the kid off as okay bye yeah like even this
week oh you're fact checking one of the scripts uh today yeah it's about the spider man movie yep
this one talks about the end of spider man which it does by the way sometimes i get stressed
i'm like i got a lot to do this week we're recording two things to prepare and then i got to go
through a script and she's like you're you okay you're fact-checking what a warmbo's vagina looks
like or whatever like it's i got the same thing my partner she's she's she's going school for
counseling and she's like reading about grief all the time and just like all these like really really
intense cases of people and i'm like another thing about why people are wrong about this movie did you
see this tweet from this guy you don't know literally she's like i've not been on twitter today
I'm not there.
I just not, I just like, I've been logged off.
I've been doing real stuff and I'm, and I'm very proud.
The point is give us money to make movies, not, Ben Shapiro shouldn't have enough money to make a movie.
He really shouldn't.
He really should not.
Or, you know what?
I take that back.
He can have enough money to make a movie because he's done all the things and this is America.
But he made some bad movies.
So he shouldn't keep getting money to make movies because all of them are.
are bad.
Or do it the Mark Duplasway.
At least do it down and dirty.
Just get out there.
Right.
Do it over a weekend.
Well, they did, which is why they fucking fell out of a window or something because they like
cheaped out on the on the stunts or something.
Right.
Someone got injured on this.
Someone got injured on set.
So I guess this is the cheap version.
I don't know.
Get your tickets now.
They should have said September 16th.
Cowards.
Released it on 9-11.
Fucking cowards.
It's true.
beforehand to build up something, you know, take advantage of 9-11.
Build up the fear, exactly.
As you're trying to do with the Mom Donnie thing.
You're trying to take advantage of the grief to score some points.
Harness that grief and like don't let it go and manipulate it.
Maybe redirect it at your enemies and then create fear from that.
Well, we recorded twice as long as we were supposed to.
Well, yes.
Okay.
You know what?
Thanks, everybody for watching.
Make sure to like and subscribe.
Rate us, the comments.
Check out the movies.
And see, this is why you rehearse.
This is why you plan your thing.
You don't do like pre-vis for months.
And then just like, oh, we'll figure, like, do reshoots.
Okay, what is?
Oh, we love you very much.
I'll do it.
Much.
