Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, hello, friends, on today's episode, we will be talking about Trump demanding the prosecution of his political enemies, the Charlie Kirk Memorial Rally, and Tom Homan taking bribes. Most virtuous administration ever. why hello and welcome back to even more news the first and only news podcast my name is katie stole that's the one that's the name that's the host as well as me who is cody the name of me and yes folks well jonathan is also here hi um my deepest heartful felt apologies for neglecting to mention that Jonathan was also here last week. I saw your outrage. I saw it.
Starting point is 00:01:07 I felt it. I felt shame. We don't read the comments, but we did feel it. I felt it in my soul. And there just was a lot going on. We had a guest. Excuses, excuses, I know. But I hope that you...
Starting point is 00:01:21 That never happened. So when we have a guest... Never happens. When we have a guest. Okay. That's enough chatting about. We got stuff to cover in a short... amount of time Jonathan what's first what possibly happened over the weekend you know how like
Starting point is 00:01:36 occasionally Donald Trump will do the biggest political scandal of any of our lifetimes but no one cares but it's like ordinarily it would be so he did a watergate level thing on truth social didn't do a watergate he demanded he he sent a he didn't send a DM but there has been speculation that he may be intended to. At any rate, he started a truth social post with Pam, colon, ostensibly Pam Bondi, his attorney general, saying that it is, it's been all talk, no action, it is time to go after Comey, Adam Schifty Shift, Latisha, because they're all guilty as hell. And he's basically demanding that she buck up and charge all of his political enemies with stuff. He just fired a U.S. attorney from the Eastern District in Virginia.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Eric Siebert, a U.S. attorney for not charging Letitia James fast enough for him. That guy was like, oh yeah, I looked into this mortgage fraud thing. He tossed me, and it turns out it's stupid and there's nothing there. And he's like, well, you're fired. For six months. He tried so hard. Like, go on. Sorry, we'll get the actual news. It's just like you try, like, everyone tries so hard to appease him. And they're like, I want to, I want to. I want to. I want to get this person for you, but there's no evidence, sir. There's no evidence. And now he's just like, well, I'll get somebody to make the evidence.
Starting point is 00:03:02 I'll, I'll make the evidence. Virginia's senators, I guess, wrote a letter supporting Siebert. Oh, a letter. That's good. Okay. Eric Seabird is an ethical prosecutor who refused to bring criminal charges against Trump's perceived enemies when the facts wouldn't support it. There's more to it.
Starting point is 00:03:20 The facts didn't support it. There's no case. But you want to come after her anyway. because she prosecuted you. Because his feelings. Yeah. These facts don't care about his feelings, but his feelings trump these facts. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Because he's the president. And you can't say bad things about him. He clearly feels empowered to do this. He's got immunity. He did similar stuff in his first term and it didn't really matter. He fired James Comey, the person investigating him early on in his first presidency. That was one of the first things he did. That was the first thing.
Starting point is 00:03:53 And you're like, oh, he. just like fired the guy who's the independent FBI guy looking into it. There is no sense of independence anymore no one expects it. He is just straight up ordering the FBI and the DOJ to do the stuff that he wants. When they
Starting point is 00:04:08 could be doing, I don't know if you guys know this, other stuff. Like what? Could there possibly be? I don't know. Looking for right wing violent extremists, which was like a big deal before and now they don't do that anymore. I heard that that doesn't exist. Yeah, they removed that. So it means it's not real. If you take it off the website, that means it's
Starting point is 00:04:24 not real anymore. So, but this series of truth social posts is very strange because he posted Pam Cullen and then in that post he said, Lindsay is a really good lawyer. And then everyone was speculating, well, he probably means Lindsey Halligan, who was one of his personal attorneys. And then he deleted that post and reposted it clarifying that, yes, he is now putting that person, one of his former defense attorneys whose role so far has been to find the woke stuff in the Smithsonian and get rid of it. She's now going to take Eric Siebert's role and will presumably, I guess, charge Letitia James with mortgage fraud, which again, as we've talked about before, we'll have to go to like a trial with like an actual jury who might not be loyal to Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Well, because also they'll have to like a jury traditionally. So I've been on juries before. You look at, you look at evidence. Evidence. Yeah, they'll, I think. Evidence, depending on the court, yeah, and they'll present it to them and then they will decide. So if, like, for example, somebody looks for six months to find evidence and can't find any and then that person's fired and then they hire somebody loyal to make up evidence, maybe it won't be compelling to the people who have to decide. I mean, what's your goal here? Just to distract, just to ruin her life for a while and create enough of a near. around her so that it's hard to get work, tie her up in legal fees for the remainder of your term. Just for fun, I guess. Lawfare. This person, Lindsay Halligan, it's not just that she is a Trump loyalist. She doesn't have, this will shock you, does not have the qualifications to do what a U.S. attorney in this position does. She has a background in insurance law. She has no prosecutorial experience. She is licensed to practice law in Florida. and handled insurance claims
Starting point is 00:06:26 when she joined Trump's legal team amid the probe by the Justice Department into Trump's handling of classified material. Does she handle insurance claims for people or for insurance companies? For my pillow. She is like a lawyer, which I guess
Starting point is 00:06:46 meets that's Trump's qualifications. I need lawyer to do charge person crime. Charge person with crime. I mean no like pass bar okay no okay and then he's like I can find someone else to pull all the woke shit out of the Smithsonian any knucklehead can do that I can have one of my idiot kids do that and maybe he will um while I know those kids are busy like putting together the Trump phone that doesn't exist but like they could also pull the woke shit from the Smithsonian yeah
Starting point is 00:07:18 whoever painted the Oval Office gold just like grab them and get rid of the stuff Grab them where? By whatever. By the you know. Out of the whatever? Out of the whatever. Yeah. I know.
Starting point is 00:07:30 I'm mixing all these old... By the butt. I know. We got a new one. We'll get to. You grab them by the butt, Jonathan. Okay. Well, at least he's cleaned that part up.
Starting point is 00:07:38 And then, you barely have time to digest this. What should be a major political scandal before Sunday comes along. And while the rest of us are watching entertaining NFL football, a lot of people were watching the Charlie Kirk Memorial Service slash... I was watching superman Trump rally. Oh, the Trump rally over the weekend. Yeah, I saw that. Yeah, the big, gangri, mean-spirited Trump rally. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:01 We're having fun, but, boy, terrifying shit. Yeah. This is not good. Yeah. It's weird. Obviously, if you are familiar with this sort of evangelical world or, like, have been in that world or have a passing familiarity, it will look familiar. and weird and the fireworks are odd. It looks like a weird, big Trumpist rally.
Starting point is 00:08:31 And I guess to get it out of the way, we should mention that there was one very out of character moment from the whole thing, aside from like going out to a stadium and everybody cheering like at the Trump rally at a memorial, Kirk's widow came out and had a tearful speech. and she said that she forgave the shooter, which was quite something to see. Whether or not it was...
Starting point is 00:09:00 She means it, but... She means it. We don't know. That is the Christian thing to do. And it was something I think a lot of people didn't expect. I mean, that statement, she says, however you want to interpret it, in the midst of this carnival of bloodthirsty, the anti-left rhetoric, she's saying my husband saw his job as to save or help or whatever
Starting point is 00:09:31 word you want to use, young men in this country, young men like the man that took his life, and I forgive you. And I don't know if she means that, but it was the right thing to say. And she is literally the only one who said it. Now that we've discussed that, I think it's important also to sort of contextualize this as the weird Christophascist martyr rally that it is because her going out and saying that, and I'm not saying she did this purposefully, but her going out and saying that,
Starting point is 00:10:08 and we have this sort of moment of look at this like, like overwhelming act of like compassion and forgiveness, this soft, a perceptibly beautiful moment from this woman who experienced this tragedy that's there as a shield so that everybody else can attack their enemies
Starting point is 00:10:32 so while she forgives the shooter the rest of the country is the enemy who actually did it so do we want to watch what the president thinks about it? Yeah let's see what the president thinks in that private moment on his dying day we find everything we need to know about who Charlie Kirk truly was. He was a missionary with a noble spirit and a great, great purpose. He did not hate his opponents. He wanted the best for them. That's where I disagreed with Charlie. I hate my opponent. And I don't want
Starting point is 00:11:09 the best for them. I'm sorry. I am sorry, Erica. But now Erica can talk to me and the whole group And maybe they can convince me that that's not right, but I can't stand my opponent. What a fucking disgusting piece of shit. That's fascinating to me for, like, one big reason. Well, one, you can, it shows that you could see the wheels in his head turning because he's reading this for the first time. He doesn't know what he's going to say about his good friend, Charlie Kirk.
Starting point is 00:11:35 And then he says he did not hate his opponents, and you can see him slow down and think about it for a second. And maybe there's that, like, split second where he's like, should I say this? Should I not? Nothing matters. I'm going to say it. And of course it kills. Gets a huge laugh from the crowd.
Starting point is 00:11:50 But like that's a real thought that he had in the moment. That was not a planned. Oh, yeah, no. He was weaving out of the speech that was prepared for him and wanted everybody to know that he hates his opponents, which as we've discussed in the past, we'll discuss in the future are like half the country. It's fucked up that he said that.
Starting point is 00:12:12 I know that this wasn't really a memorial. it's a political rally it's however you want to describe it it really obviously sits bad with me for so many reasons but just sit there saying sorry erika but i disagree sorry erika it's like fuck you he's a monstrous oaf it's in theory this is her husband's funeral and you just are going to shit all over what message she was trying to apart in theory maybe you're i don't need to give erika kirk a bunch of credit here um Except that she said the right thing. She said it, though. And that's the tone that, like, it's a memorial, again, allegedly, but when the person most affected by this goes out and does this Christian, performatively whatever, this Christian act in front of everybody. And the president, who allegedly was his good friend, comes out and is like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:13:12 Now, we're actually going to hate them all. and use this as an opportunity to rile everybody up. It's just really disgusting and spits in the face of what these people purport to believe. It's so bizarre. He's always been this, again, this monstrous oaf just barreling through whatever anybody feels or wants or does or says or is true. And it just doesn't matter to them. And it's weird. You can say that a lot.
Starting point is 00:13:41 It's weird. It's so odd the way it hits someone like. like me or us like there's that clip of he's Trump is standing up there with Erica Kirk at the end and and she's and I don't want to I don't even want to say she played her role she did what you would expect a grieving widow in her position to do which again is like she's being used by them for that role and then Trump is up there doing like they're all singing America America and he's like do it that that clip where he's like America it's the toddler dance thing it's very strange and watching it i i had this weird feeling of like maybe this is what it was
Starting point is 00:14:23 like for a far right conservative in 2020 who saw this like outpouring emotion and people talking about race in a different way than they had before and if that's just if that's something you can't wrap your mind around and you despise you must have been watching everything unfold in the summer of 2020 and being like what's going on here this isn't the country i reckon recognize. And I was like, this is what it was like for me watching clips of this memorial service. Like, what is this? How so much of the country thinks? Is this like what culture is for people? It's very bizarre to like witness it. But also it's, yeah, it is bizarre. It's also, it's being, it's being presented as like, this is the real America.
Starting point is 00:15:09 And we don't need to get into this, but like, Kirk wasn't like popular among, a lot of people a lot of like the people there like obviously like they're passionate about it but like this is being presented as this sort of like 50 50 actually half the country knows who he was and is so affected by this and actually wants to join this weird holy war that we're presenting it as because she goes out you want to pay your respects she's saying her thing and then you have Stephen Miller out there doing yeah a Nazi speech he wrote that one of Of course he cribbed it a little bit, let's be honest, but he did plan to say those things.
Starting point is 00:15:55 And when that is the juxtaposition, amidst all the like the weird like America firework pageantry and like the evangelical like stuff, it's just very bizarre and they're telling America, this is everybody actually, but it's not. It's selective. They're doing a selective populist holy war. because it's their opportunity.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Well, yeah, I mean, it's just a continuation of all the rhetoric of the past 11 days, 12 days, however long it's been, or even leading up to it, it's selective, just the way it's selective which acts of political violence the president chose to talk about. When you're watching it, you have to remember that a single person with no clear political affiliations, least not connected as far as the FBI can find to any leftist groups did this. And so when the word they comes up so consistently in many of these speeches, it's a little bit startling. The light will defeat the dark. We will prevail over the forces of wickedness and evil. They cannot imagine what they have awakened. They cannot conceive of the army that they have arisen in all of us. Because we stand for what is good, what is virtuous, what is noble. And to those trying to incite violence against us, those trying to foment hatred against us,
Starting point is 00:17:30 what do you have? You have nothing. You are nothing. You are wickedness, you are jealousy, you are envy, you are hatred. You are nothing. You can build nothing. You can produce nothing. you can create nothing we are the ones who build we are the ones who create we are the ones who lift up humanity it actually makes me sick every time I've seen this clip
Starting point is 00:17:59 it makes me nauseous it is terrifying and he's talking about more than half the country actually and when he gets rid of them he'll move on to something else he's a hateful hateful man to be like you're a fomenting hate you're a hateful man full man, Stephen Miller, and again, juxtaposed that about they with Erica Kirk going out
Starting point is 00:18:25 and saying that she forgives him. I want to, I'll just read this. We don't need to watch Benny Johnson talk. But he this morning said, it's so interesting. They're always talking about these events and these things and the discourse. And they always seem to sometimes slip out in a way that like that is like oh so you know you just think it's good or you you're admitting you're admitting this stuff uh earlier today he talked about how erika kirk shows that perfectly balanced absolutely in perfect harmony with president trump and his administration we must enact justice he's saying that erika kirk is working harmoniously with the project and goals of the trump administration and this movement, which is to say, she says the nice thing for you nice people
Starting point is 00:19:19 to hear. And then they are nothing but fire and brimstone and hatred. That's how it works together. They're working harmoniously. And it's just weird him saying, yeah, and actually it's normal. We're going to get justice, even though she was, she did the Christian thing. So we got that out of the way. Now we punish. Punish who? Uh, they. They. them? Who is they? Who is them? According to Tucker Carlson, I think he would say that. Not they them. I think we know who Tucker Carlson thinks they are. So it's about 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem and Jesus shows up and he starts talking about the people in power and he starts doing the worst thing that you can do, which is telling the truth about people and they hate it. And they
Starting point is 00:20:06 just go bonkers. They hate it. And they become obsessed with making him stop. This guy's got to stop talking. We've got to shut this guy up. And I can just sort of picture the scene in a lamplit room with a bunch of guys sitting around eating hummus thinking about what do we do about this guy telling the truth about us. We must make him stop talking. And there's always one guy with the bright idea and I can just hear him say, I've got an idea, why don't we just kill him? That'll shut him up. That'll fix the problem. We all know, but a lot of them said they, but it was Donald Trump, the man himself, who just said it real clear, you know, the radical, whatever, the leftist terrorist. That's not the word he used, but.
Starting point is 00:20:52 He said that, yeah, he says the left, the radical left, the left are so violent. Charlie likes to say the left. I like to say the radical left. He just admits it all. They all say it. You can go and read other speeches of Nazis and be like, oh, like what Stephen Miller said. It's all on purpose is the problem. Like, they're all, they're out here. being like, you call us fascists and Nazis for no reason. It's because you want to, man, blah, blah. It's because you're cribbing their speeches. You're doing it.
Starting point is 00:21:19 It's intentional. He knows exactly why he spoke like that. And he knows what the purpose of this is. It's frustrating, I guess, is my point. I don't know. The storm specifically is, I mean, we're not going to go through all of them. Other people have showed comparisons to a few Gerbil's speeches. from the 1930s.
Starting point is 00:21:43 That was a long time ago. It was a long time ago, but when, like, you know, Miller says, and it's interesting because Erica Kirk is playing the nice role, but Miller says,
Starting point is 00:21:53 I am the storm. Erica is the storm. We are the storm. Right? Like, he's not really mincing words. No, there, it's so, and, like, aside from, like, the dangers and the project that they're behind,
Starting point is 00:22:07 it's just really grotesque. They don't care. about this guy so much as they just want to use him. And again, maybe that's what he would have wanted. I don't know. But it's just like, they don't give a shit. Trump was asked, I mean, we've already shown him being asked about how he's feeling. And he's like, I'm fine. By the way, have you seen this ballroom? It looks incredible. Celebrate the life of a great man today. really a great man he's a young man but a great man and we look forward to it it really is we want to look at it as a time of healing a time of whatever that something like this could have happened is not even believable he doesn't care a time of healing a time of whatever buddy it's just what a hilarious monster it's those classic lyrics from turn turn turn a time of healing a time of whatever anyway Check out those beams
Starting point is 00:23:09 On my brand new ballroom We painted the wall black So no one can climb it Okay Speaking about whatever, whatever And not caring And also, you know, the fact that there's one party
Starting point is 00:23:23 That is virtuous Tell me more About our borders are accepting a bribe But the president isn't care Nobody cares Did he take a bribe? He did. Tell me more.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Yeah. Tell me more. Was it also on camera. Tom Homan, the borders are fake job back in 2024 when it was known that if Trump won that he'd be part of this border thing, this fake job that he got, yeah. He accepted a $50,000 bribe in the form of a literal bag of cash from on camera, multiple angles from an undercover FBI agent pretending to be a businessman who would get, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:03 perks on the new border whatever prison, who cares. And he just, yeah, accepted the bag of cash, the bribe. And of course, the totally weaponized Biden DOJ was like, well, we'll just sit on this. We'll just sit on the fact that this guy took a bribe. And then, you know, I'm sure the next FBI, if this guy gets in the administration, will totally nail him. But no, the Trump, DOJ shut down this case. And they're now saying.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Well, I think they left the Biden DOJ, I think they left a note about it for them. but it was in a burn bag and a in a secret room. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, and they just didn't find the secret room yet. So, but yeah, he was. I'm sorry, that administration, way to not do your job, folks, anyway. Yeah, I mean, he took a bribe pretty clearly. $50,000 in cash.
Starting point is 00:24:53 They didn't even make, and I guess he just gets to keep the money now. It's not like marked or whatever. Well, because they shut it down. They've shut down this investigation. And there's a really interesting tweet from, Megan Kelly about this because this scoop came out the other day and then Megan Kelly quote tweeted it and said we do not care don't bother at real Tom Homan he's a national treasure and she later followed that up with no credible evidence and a statement from Cash Patel but at first you're thinking wait do you not think this is true or do you get that it's true but you just don't care because who cares they don't care they don't care they don't care they don't care that you said they want that they want they want But thank goodness They want their national treasure
Starting point is 00:25:38 Patel gets out there and he's like You know what Just say this I'll just say that Nuh What if what if The podcaster FBI guy Goes out and says actually
Starting point is 00:25:50 Nuh So then we don't look at the video He thought How can you say there's no credible evidence He might have thought there was laundry You can say whatever He was doing for the undercover FBI agent
Starting point is 00:26:03 Yeah you can say whatever Katie say anything now these days you can say whatever the r word you can say there's no credible evidence all kinds of stuff like it used to be that they would fire homin and be like well he didn't really have anything to do with the operations he was just the borders are ie guy who goes on tv which is like it's a fake job he doesn't actually do anything he's not running dhs you get a qualified person like christie gnome to to do that tom homin's not in cosplaying as a border agent he just wears a suit and goes on CNN and tries to form complete sentences. While he hides his big bag of cash under the desk.
Starting point is 00:26:39 With a big like dollar sign. Oh yeah. Yeah. If you weren't cause, I guess you'd have the black and white stripes, right? The most corrupt stuff out in the open. We're barely, we don't really have time.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Like he's, Trump is changing the H-1B visa structure and saying now the fee is $100,000. But we'll waive that fee at our discretion. So like for bribes For bribes He has since backed off and said It's not going to work for doctors He must have gotten some phone calls
Starting point is 00:27:08 From people who like need doctors But no They basically are saying like at our discretion We can waive a $100,000 fee So I guess that's a $75,000 check to Donald Trump And his crypto scam So I wanted to button up this Homan
Starting point is 00:27:27 Megan Kelly thing and sort of related to everything we've been talking about. Like, they know they don't care. This is what it is. Megan Kelly is trying to be like, we don't care. But also, there's no evidence. And I think it's instructive to listen to the, I don't even know what to call her, person and Coulter, who says it all. She says it out loud for everybody to hear.
Starting point is 00:27:57 I mean, this is the most corrupt presidency in U.S. history with the money they are rigging in with the NFTs and the meme coin. I mean, it's so blatant. It's right in front of our eyes. And the funny thing about I don't care as long as we get a wall, I need mass deportations. If I have not made that clear, I don't care about anything but saving the country. We'll deal with, you know, future presidents being corrupt. What everybody, it's what Megan Kelly wants to say. It's what they all. kind of hint that, but that they don't care. The racism wins. That's why. It's like they test out both things at once.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Whenever a story breaks, they test out, we don't care. Or like, you guys did it first, so we don't care. Or it's not true anyway. And whichever one kind of sticks, that's the way they go with. But Ann Coulter. It's like A-B testing on YouTube. Doesn't care about any of that. She knows she can go on Fox News and see.
Starting point is 00:28:57 say this is this is a quote this is a quote the most corrupt presidency in history and she doesn't care as long as they do all the immigration stuff she does not care be corrupt do the Bitcoin
Starting point is 00:29:13 fire whoever take advantage of this go out do all do all that stuff as long as you build the wall basically I'd like to say that this will come back to haunt them in the future but I'm even positive that it will like when it's played back at them when the if what let's be real the
Starting point is 00:29:35 democrats would never be bold enough to try to take a page out of their playbook nor do I necessarily think they should but um they might quote her in a letter they might quote her in a letter um we do have to wrap this up a slight bit of goodish news uh is that over the weekend UK Australia and Canada all officially recognized Palestinian statehood. While that might feel like a bit of an empty gesture at the moment, I also think it's significant, long overdue, much needed, and hopefully more countries follow suit. Even if it is symbolic, it is, important in my opinion yeah it's part of the that that's good um it's just all part of it's just all part of it the more and more people say things um meanwhile net yahoo i believe went out over the
Starting point is 00:30:39 weekend and said actually palestinia statehood will never happen um so maybe he's not a somebody who should be trusted in uh this situation um but it is good um as we talked about UN is recognizing it as genocide these other nations are coming forward about about this so I was trying to end it slightly positive it didn't feel as positive
Starting point is 00:31:07 after it came out of my mouth but it's something okay well we've arrived at the end of our program today folks thank you for spending this time with us yeah it was a time of healing it was a time of whatever
Starting point is 00:31:24 It was a time of Whatever, whatever That was already the slogan of our show Just like Listen to our show For the season For whatever Do you
Starting point is 00:31:42 Oh, we're taking this shit on the road Fushed it We got to do the entire Zombies Odyssey and Oracle album Beginning to end Nailing it Okay Well Fuck
Starting point is 00:31:57 I can feel it in the air Sorry I go ahead Oh yeah We love you very much We do much We do much
