The continued bombing of boats in the Caribbean and pardoning of criminals. Oh, hi. Hello. Welcome back to even more news, the first and only news podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:07 My name is Kate Stoll. Wow. Official. Hello, Kate. I'm Cody. I'm Code. Hi. Hello and welcome.
Starting point is 00:01:15 And hi. and good morning and afternoon and that's the only good evening to you as well Jonathan is also here hi my name's solid always the same John the news yes
Starting point is 00:01:34 it happened it's going on it's ongoing there were protests on Saturday no king's protests across the country estimate of crowds are between and a half million and potentially up to 8 million making them larger than last time potentially the largest
Starting point is 00:01:53 single day of protests since Earth Day 1970. Earth Day 1970. And we know that one worked. That helped. That saved the earth. Yeah. We did it, folks. Yeah, before we talk about some of the reactions I
Starting point is 00:02:10 because boy, they were plentiful and weird. so many different angles trying to be different ways they're trying to frame this as nefarious or lame or fake but it isn't fake this happened and we should all take a little bit of solace in that that there are so many people that agree with us that recognize the horrors that are doing everything they can to stop it
Starting point is 00:02:37 even in small communities I'm in L.A. right now but still my little mountain town showed up And every time in the face of overwhelming propaganda and bad faith framing of what's happening, people are showing up. And it's very brave and it's very beautiful. And we should feel good about that. And also it's crazy what happened online. Sure. The president.
Starting point is 00:03:02 And it's good to get out there. And I saw, you know, you see a lot of people like, what is this even about? What are you even trying to do? What is this is to accomplish and stuff? And I think, uh, there's some frustration like, well, like, what now? Like, you went out there. Okay. Uh, but I also saw a lot of people like a lot of, uh, a lot of DSA members and people were like, yeah, I went and I talked to the libs and they were like, what do we do now? And so we like told them. We like started going out and like helping them organize and telling them, oh, you can do this. You can join this group and do this.
Starting point is 00:03:37 And I think people are, they're out there because they want to be able to do something, but they don't know what to do and it was nice to see some people sort of instead of sort of dismissing the whole thing is like what a waste of your time like going out there and engaging with people and trying to get them more involved was nice to see yeah it's worthwhile and again I think it's worthwhile even the fact that you show up or see the pictures however you're participating maybe you can't physically be there but knowing that so many people are on your side and that you're not alone is very valuable whether or not this physically like actually changes something that's happening at the moment it's about strength of the president he was always going to
Starting point is 00:04:23 be the president it's not that i'm expecting oh all of a sudden never mind we've changed your minds but it's about a show of force it's about saying we don't have an election right this minute but we're coming and we're paying attention and we're not letting you just i want to acknowledge as well that there are people who have been out there consistently outside the ice facilities in many cities across the country. I think this is a different thing because I don't expect most of the No King's protesters to do that. A lot of these people are older. They are not physically capable or, you know, personally willing to sacrifice the way some of these people are sacrificing out there. I don't think that diminishes what the, I don't think it diminishes the value of seeing
Starting point is 00:05:13 millions of people, you know, connecting DSA out there, recruiting people and getting people interested. I don't think that cheapens the value, but I also want to acknowledge that, you know, the next day and the day after that and the day after that, people are outside these ice facilities protesting what they're doing. Of course. I mean, there's a place for everything. I don't love. virtue signaling or the whole like oh you guys show up for just this one day people are doing what they can and that's a big deal and um yeah of course you want continued effort and pressure could do without the brunch signs we got to stop doing that yeah we could do brunch signs like i should be a brunch type thing i just thought we were like over that i thought it's been like it's been years
Starting point is 00:05:58 people were doing that it's cringe but also who am i to judge cringe um i i don't know i don't take I get it, I get it, I get it, but I'm here for everybody that's showing up. Oh, yeah, you know. You know. But yeah. Let's retire that one, at least. So before we talk about the president's reaction, I do want to read this tweet from Megan McCain that I think is indicative of the way a lot of conservatives felt.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Megan McCain tweeted, I don't understand how Trump is a king when he won every single swing state, the electoral college, and popular vote in a Democratic election. Shut up, Megan. Okay. It's not it's not that people can't win an election and then attempt to become a dictator. It's not the election that's making him the dictator. It's the fact that he's levying tariffs without consent of Congress, not following the laws that Congress has sent, blowing up boats in the middle of the ocean. Without the consent of Congress. Ignoring federal judges, ignoring rule of law, shutting down the government. refusing to come to the table to negotiate with Democrats.
Starting point is 00:07:10 We could continue, but you guys all know. Yeah, it's a very, it's, there's like a few, there's a few types of reaction and that was a big one is pretending.
Starting point is 00:07:21 They're pretending to not understand. Like, of course, they understand like, well, yeah, you like think he's like acting like a dictator. So you have like a short phrase. Like there's no like,
Starting point is 00:07:35 this is the protest. against the duly elected Donald Trump, who we disagree with and his authoritarian actions. Like, no, just call it no kings. And the end. They understand, but they need to pretend like it doesn't make sense. Like, these people, like, you're just, like, overreacting. He was elected. Yeah, you can get elected and you can do authoritarian things.
Starting point is 00:07:58 You called Obama a king when he was the president. So you know. No matter what these protests were named. or how they were framed you're going they're going to find some talking point to delegitimize it that's all this is uh yeah they shared uh there's a there's a this one video in particular i think it might be from boston huge huge huge crowd and then everyone was like this is fake and then everyone else is like no it's not and then they're like i can't believe you're sharing this fake video but it's not or this thing from 2017 but it's not and like not
Starting point is 00:08:34 that that doesn't happen during these sort of protests, but like that specifically is not, and you can, like, every single Republican, like, Congressperson is like, you're, like, the Ted Cruzes of the world, like, I can't believe you're dishonestly sharing this video. It's real, man. It's okay. Also,
Starting point is 00:08:50 what about the fact that they would dishonestly share videos of, I mean, whatever, who fucking cares? But they share shit all the time that's supposed to be deceptive about Trump's rally sizes or his inauguration at it's just like come on you don't give a shit you're just doing your best to de legitimize it delegitimize this also like you said it wasn't fake but they
Starting point is 00:09:18 were throwing everything at the wall again it also feels like deja vu it feels as though it doesn't feel it is as though every time there's a protest they like to pick a picture of a bunch of old white women or older white women and say, oh, so is there nobody under the age of 50 at these things? Yeah, dude, you took one picture. But also, where is that place from? So what? This is a group of people that are together. This is a community.
Starting point is 00:09:44 What are the demographics of that town? My town in the mountains? Yeah, it's a lot of older people. There are a lot of older people at those rallies. But you look at downtown L.A. And it's a completely different demographic. So shut the fuck up, you dummies. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:59 And there's so, I mean, there's so many examples. of people like oh look at like all these like old white people here and you're like you're in a town of like 1500 people you're this is a picture of half the town like what do you what do you mean it's so dismissive but like proving that like there are a lot of people out at the same time it's just dismissive because they're like who cares what a bunch of old white people think that's your base man you should care what a bunch of i mean most old white people still vote Republican. These are the group of old white people who don't. All people vote. All people vote. Old people vote. Okay. Are we radical violent extremists? Are we old housewives, old white women?
Starting point is 00:10:42 Are we retired white people that look just like you? Who is the threat here? What is it? What is the narrative? Then of course there is that paid protesters. This Eric Schmidt tweet. Senator Eric Schmidt. The No Kings Day protests are an incredible example of how AstroTurf the left is. Nothing about this was grassroots or organic. It's funded by billionaires, promoted by million dollar ad buys, and organized by some of the most powerful left-wing groups in America. And it's just a bunch of like old people with nothing to do. And it's a bunch of young antifa types who are there to like kill us all. If you want to talk about astroturfing by billionaires, about we start with Elon Musk, who wasn't even hiding his attempts to pay for people to show up,
Starting point is 00:11:34 paying people to vote for Donald Trump. What are you talking about, my man? He did do that. Everything, I mean, everything, every accusation is confession. They don't understand and they can't comprehend the idea that like, no, people wanted to go out and, like, express their anger and frustration because they believe in stuff and they wanted to do that. They don't need to be paid. I saw people like, oh, they're paying, they're like spending millions of dollars on this.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Like, how much do you think they're paying these people? Like, 20 bucks? 50 bucks. Okay. What? And then it's like, it's, I also saw like people like, oh, they've nothing to do. All these like old retirees. They don't have, they don't have grandkids.
Starting point is 00:12:22 to spend on the weekend it's Saturday it's two hours it was two hours what do you mean they they did that for two hours of their time no a protest and the numbers that it draws only matters if you don't advertise it at all if you don't tell anyone about it happened organically what so people just kind of meet up and go to a place like it's the stand like no you're going to let people know that this thing is happening but no that means it's fake yeah the only other time like i'm thinking of the the Muslim ban impromptu go to the airport
Starting point is 00:12:57 protests like that was that kind of thing but also it's okay you can plan protests for now I guess yeah for now should we look at the president's reaction yeah real quick before we before we do
Starting point is 00:13:09 because we don't need to talk about the specific guy there's a just all these like right wing influences are just so like they just post whatever it doesn't matter it's all contradictory you show you uh share a bit of big video of like thousands of people and you're like this is fake but then like 20 minutes later they share another one and it's like so there are all these people
Starting point is 00:13:35 uh here i'm here to read this out loud you know it's the strangest thing i don't remember seeing the same crowd of liberals rushing down to help us during the months after hurricane helene why is that so like first of all so like is there a lot of people or is there not a lot of people are you mad that there are a lot of people or do you think it's fake that there's a lot of people what do you want them to do also if thousands and thousands of people went down there after the hurricane that would be very dangerous young man I don't think you understand like how these things work you're not supposed to do that there were people who like volunteered to help but like did you want a huge crowd of people to go down and just like be there and like
Starting point is 00:14:13 suck up resources and crowd the streets this is it's just silly that's all silly it's It's, we shouldn't even be talking about this. We should talk about the president, the president, what he posted and said. This is one of the wildest things an American president has ever publicly done in terms of messaging. This is also amidst the White House and Vance and Trump also just sharing a bunch of photos of themselves as Kings, by the way. So there's that. There's the all day just being like, actually, yes, kings. we are, uh, gotcha. Are you triggered? Um, and then this, of course.
Starting point is 00:15:18 I'm a little triggered. He did it. It works. What a, what the fuck? What a disgusting old man? You're the president. You can't be doing that. Obviously you can because you're the king or whatever.
Starting point is 00:15:35 And I'm not like triggered, but like, man, it makes me mad actually. And I'm okay. I'm okay saying that it makes me mad. Yeah, it's fine for you to own that emotion. It works. It's so fucking frustrating. I feel like I walk around. trying to be so self-protective of my little sensitive heart and trying to pick what things
Starting point is 00:15:54 to be incensed about and the president's social media platform I mean just the stuff that they post is so fucking frustrating and this one got me it's like you clown you childish buffoon you what are you 12 the person making your AI videos are big balls it is the everyone's 12 this isn't funny this isn't anything interesting it is a disgrace and i don't think it works i think it works for some subset of people online but this is the shit that's like i mean it does work for some people but just your average person you're like he did what uh if you're listening and you don't know what we're talking about somehow he's flying uh like a jet like top gun in a jet uh and donald trump the president is flying the jet and then he unleashes a torrent of uh liquid
Starting point is 00:16:46 excrement onto the No King's protesters in some sort of weird AI slop in New York City. Yeah. And one of them is like a person, like a person, like a huge, a real person. A real person. Harry Sisson, he's like a Democratic influencer debate type guy. He's out there doing doing his thing. And he's a real guy. And he's like front and center getting shit piled on him by the president? Literally he posted, can a reporter please ask Trump why he posted an AI video of himself dropping poop on me from a fighter jet? That would be great thanks. And so vice president J.D. Vance responded, I'll ask him for you, Harry, because he too is 12 and he has this just like intense desire to be liked by the crowd that is going to like that. I
Starting point is 00:17:46 It's just, it's the most consistent double standard in American politics that Trump supporters must be revered and respected and understood and you can't say anything bad about them as a group or a subset of a group, but it is totally fine for the president of the United States to say I'd really like to unleash my or our collective shit all over anyone who doesn't like me. That's definitely fine. Nothing's coming out normal of his body. Yeah, no. You don't get that consistency from a healthy diet. Must be the Vax. Must be the Vax. Which he gets. Mua! It's October, and you know what that means.

The Appaloosa Apparition, a dangerous method of doom. Eastern promises of doom. A history of violence of doom. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Starting point is 00:19:23 Pay never? This ad is brought to you by Veeve Healthcare, the makers of Appritude, Cabotegrivir. You never skip your SPF, and you carry hand sanitizer like an accessory. But what are you doing for HIV prevention? One way to help protect yourself from HIV is Appetude,
Starting point is 00:19:44 A prescription medicine used to reduce the risk of getting HIV in adults and adolescents weighing at least 77 pounds. You must be HIV negative to receive Appritude and get tested before each injection. If you think you were exposed to HIV or have flu-like symptoms, tell your doctor right away. More HIV testing may be needed. Appritude does not prevent other sexually transmitted infections. Practice safer sex to reduce your risk. Get Appritude as scheduled. Missing doses increases your HIV risk.
Starting point is 00:20:17 Don't take Appritude if allergic to it or taking certain medicines that may interact. Tell your doctor about your medical conditions, liver problems, and mental health. Serious side effects include allergic reactions or rash, liver problems, and depression. If these occur, get medical help right away. The most common side effect is injection site reaction. Bring your A-game and talk to your doctor. Learn more at Appritude.com or call 1-888-240-0340. We talked about this a little bit late last week.
Starting point is 00:20:54 The U.S. is blowing up more boats. We're still blowing up boats in the Caribbean. There are seven now that we have done that too. For one of the earlier ones, we blew up the boat, we meaning they, and there were a few survivors and we took those survivors and instead of executing them on the spot because that's legal
Starting point is 00:21:18 and they're narco-terrorists, right? Apparently that is, yeah. Right, we repatriated them to their home countries of Colombia and Ecuador instead of trying them for a crime because again, the administration's justifications is these people are terrorists and it is okay for the U.S. military
Starting point is 00:21:35 to kill them on site. Yet they want them to go back and do it again. and have we seen any evidence thus far of any of these boats one of them seems to have contained some amount of drugs from what I understand but I haven't seen they have presented zero evidence
Starting point is 00:21:54 to the American people or to Congress which is you know rankling some of them blah blah blah blah blah they presented some evidence occasionally that they did blow them up they love sharing the videos Pete Hague Seth over there sharing his uh his little videos he loves he loves being the war guy um but we're very anti-war
Starting point is 00:22:17 but he loves being the war guy they keep saying this jd said it as well um that he doesn't care what happens to them because they're narco terrorists uh first of all wait you don't care again you're going to send them back so they do it more what do you there it doesn't make any sense no it's there there's it's evidence in court that they are not what you say if there was a court case of this, which there should be. Like, letting them go is, I'm surprised that they did. I'm surprised that they didn't grab them and make some shit up. I know.
Starting point is 00:22:49 Like they two with Kilmara, Breggo Garcia and other people. The boat that we, meaning they, blew up yesterday, the administration says that those were people connected to the Colombian rebel group known as the ELN, which I did not know we were in an armed conflict with until Hegsef announced it. It's whoever. It's whoever, actually. Because also, they keep using the, they keep using the term narco-terrorists to describe any of these people.
Starting point is 00:23:19 That's a really specific term that is usually reserved for, like, narco-terrorists and, like, drug cartels who, like, do terrorism. But they seem to be using the term to mean, like, any drugs, potential drug smuggler or, like, drug dealer, which is not how the term is used. Again, it's what we always talk about. We're like, they just label terrorists, uh, military aged men, whatever it is to justify this thing that they're doing. One of these boats turned out to be Colombian, but did they intend it to be, uh, that target? To me, it feels a little bit like, oh, we got a wrong boat, but now we're going to create a world where now the focus is also Colombia. But then the other, which one of them was actually
Starting point is 00:24:03 putting out a distress signal? One of the boats in the last couple of That was the Colombian. It was the Colombian one. Thank you. In the middle of September. The one that they said was a Venezuelan narco terrorist was Colombian fishermen who had, yeah, were asking for help. Sending up a distress signal. And I know that we mentioned this last week, but let's be clear, and I'm not speaking for all of these boats.
Starting point is 00:24:28 Go for it. Because I don't know. It's a big soup of misinformation and lack of proof. But at least some amount of these seem to be very. clearly just fishermen, just people doing their jobs. And now people are afraid to do their jobs because the United States is a terrorist organization. And I just need to restate that. We, the president, vice president, are like, yeah, don't go, don't go fishing for a while. And to be honest, I know that this is becoming more and more of a mainstream
Starting point is 00:25:01 news story and more people are paying attention to it. But it's been happening in the wings kind of off stage, so to speak. There's so much happening that I do believe that there is a sizable portion of the American population that does not understand that this is even happening. Yeah, and it's very clearly just sort of inching or, I don't know, footing, yarding closer and closer to what they really seem to want, which is some sort of reason to, I don't know if they want to do regime change or just like invade or they're looking. I know they're looking at the land, uh, according to, uh, Trump. I is so, it's, you know, they're, they're itching for something and. But this is all also part of project 2025. There is, uh, you know, a section. And
Starting point is 00:25:50 they talk about going into South America and, and doing stuff like this. So it's not out of left field if you're paying attention. But anywho, what else we got? Uh, so George Santos had served former congressman, George Santos. You remember him. It's not his name. I can't remember his real name. It is his name, but it wasn't his name. Anyway, he served 84 days in prison, and then President Trump commuted his 87-month sentence. What did he do? Fraud and wire fraud and he was a con man. Yeah, he like conned a bunch of like old people and like with dementia and like just like scammed a bunch of He spent his campaign contributions on personal stuff. He set up a fake, what, pet nonprofit and spent all that money.
Starting point is 00:26:40 No, wired fraud and identity theft. He's a con man. But President Trump said he always voted Republican, so got to let him out for him. He did say that was the reason, didn't he? He's a loyal, he's a loyal guy. That's all that matters. and he says he's devoting his future to prison reform because did you know that prison's real bad
Starting point is 00:27:05 George I'm sorry I don't believe you I would like to have a conversation with that man at some point not like online I just am so curious how deep does the grift go how deep are you he'll come on the show he wants to be everywhere he was on TV this weekend thanking the president he went on Fox and Friends weekend Santa's on the show. I'm no interest in providing him. I'm joking. I know. That's why I said it doesn't have to be on camera or as an actual show. I mean, he'd probably still be the same way too. It'd be
Starting point is 00:27:40 frustrating because he's like such a he's one of those like, oh, you're like a liar. Like it's not like, oh, you're like a congressperson and you do your little lies. Like no, you are like it's in your bones. Like you can't not lie. You have your. I guess one of the reasons Trump likes him and the Republican thing, but he would probably just keep going, keep lying, keep lying. And, you know, I alluded to it, and we're going to keep saying it until it happens, which it will, but it really does seem like he's just like, eventually, you're going to be okay with me pardoning my good friend, Galane, for her very, very horrible crimes. It'll be an official, I wish her well declaration letting her out.
Starting point is 00:28:27 We wish lots of people well. I don't know if that would go over so well. I mean, no, it wouldn't, but you're right. I feel like that's what we're inching towards, but I don't know. I mean, she's already in a much cushier setup than she was before and getting special treatment reportedly in club. Is that the one they call club fed? Yeah. It's cute.
Starting point is 00:28:50 Cute little man. It's still prison. And then she had this meeting, like, she got to have a meeting with an unknown person. Do you guys read about this? No. He's from the Independent. Mystery visitors plunged Gielaine Maxwell's Texas prison camp into lockdown as inmates complaint of preferential treatment report says.
Starting point is 00:29:09 So yeah, she just gets visitors and it disrupt, like they have to shut down the rest of the prison for her visitors. Very strange. That's absurd. I mean, it's what Trump said. It's just all about loyalty. If you're loyal, if you kiss the ring of the, well, I guess the right word for that.
Starting point is 00:29:28 So I kissed the what could what's like a good like a quick short term for it's like not a king I'm looking for king I was doing a bit I was like what we're doing I know
Starting point is 00:29:43 but I didn't know where you're going with a bit and I kept wanting to offer something but I was like he's got it. It's fine. I'm tired. It's yeah it's just if you kiss the ring and you say thank you sir then he will
Starting point is 00:29:56 provide he'll provide it's uh it's mob rules it's uh you know she follows the rules never rat on your friends always keep your mouth shut right uh unfortunately he probably didn't watch the end of good fellows which will hopefully
Starting point is 00:30:13 who has the time um also um uh speaking of uh this I guess um still waiting on that congresswoman to be sworn in uh yeah my Mike Johnson was asked about it earlier today, and he said, well, instead of doing TikTok videos, she should be serving her constituents.
Starting point is 00:30:36 Well, she's not sworn in yet, Mike, so maybe you should do that. And he's so, it's just so transparently full of shit constantly. Oh, speaking of shit, he was asked about the video, the Trump video, about pooping on all the Americans in the country. He said, you can. argue he's probably the most effective person who has ever used social media he's using satire to make a point he's not calling for the murder of his political opponents well that's not really what's satirical about that yeah so this is something they don't understand what satire i want to see we've talked about more of we've talked about this but just like this they say this
Starting point is 00:31:17 all the time like he's making a point he's doing satire explain it what what's the point explain the point he can't say it he needs to he needs to obfuscate like well he's just making a point moving on well what's the point that he wants the shit on everybody people well you know what i think we've done it i think i think we thought we waited through some of the the shits do we've been triggered we've talked about the news also what we love you very much triggered i mean much
