And I like that he's getting rid of the penny.

Okay, now I'll do the critiques.
Everything Trump is doing is going to hurt you.
Just got a few notes, then I'll do another compliment.
And listen, nobody likes to be alarmist.
Did you know that, anecdotally at least, people who choke to death at restaurants are often
found in the bathroom.
People don't like to make a scene, even when they are literally dying.
It's just easier, at least in the short term, to assume that things will be okay and
anyone telling you otherwise is overreacting.
This is made so much worse by the fact that the fuddy-duddy media is often regarded as
taking the most alarmist stance on everything.
But I'm just gonna outright say,
I don't think things are good right now.
I think they're very bad.
Like, just to start, do you think it's good
that there is an unelected billionaire from South Africa
with no background in government work,
but with business ties to China, Russia,
and countless conflicts of interest,
who has direct access to your banking information
and social security number and Medicaid information.
Do you trust him with that?
Do you think we should trust the richest person ever
to make decisions in your best interest,
to police himself regarding his many conflicts of interest.
Do you trust that, according to one lawsuit,
he's installed a private server in there?
Or rather, do you trust a group of engineers
in their early 20s who took control
of the Treasury Department,
most likely as their first ever gig,
except the one whose other gig involved him getting fired
for leaking company information
to competitors. Great. Cool. Let's let them walk into the Treasury Department and the Office of
Personnel Management, digitally lock out the people who are supposed to be there, and take it over,
and let these random coders just shut down payments to contractors based on their own
personal judgment. Do you like that Elon Musk was doing that for many days
until he was forced to stop because he was breaking the law?
And now he and Trump and JD Vance are attacking the judges
that stopped them and saying they should be impeached
just because those judges did their job.
Hey, do you like that he wants to delete the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, an agency
specifically designed to protect us from banks and corporations scamming us?
Do you like that Elon Musk is just lying to you about this agency that is very obviously
good for everybody except banks who want to
scam people.
Also for guys who want to turn their social media site into a banking app.
So now that obviously good for you the viewer organization is being halted.
Nobody on Twitter seems to like that idea either.
Even the blue check people.
To quote Scott G over here, I assumed it was created for our protection.

"'and I had a bunch of fraud charges

"'after telling me they found them as fraudulent.

This one just really baffles me and I'd love an actual explanation.
That random person who trusted the richest man in the world and suddenly feels confused
and betrayed has a point.
The CFPB has helped average Americans, regardless of their politics, recover $19.6 billion since it was created.
It is there to protect you.
It's helped us avoid stuff like predatory auto loans
and wrongful car repossessions.
And now the wealthy owner of a car company
gets to delete it, apparently.
Does that not piss you off?
How does this help you in any way?
How does it not potentially hurt you?
Do you like seeing your president sit silently
while the world's richest man stands behind him
and speaks for him?
Well, we have this unelected,
fourth unconstitutional branch of government,
which is the bureaucracy, which has, in a lot of ways,
currently more power than any elected representative.
Ah, yes, can't have that unelected and unconstitutional
branch just taking things over, right, Elon Musk?
I guess it's about making the government more efficient and transparent and to root out fraud.
But here's a question and feel free to look into this yourself.

If you don't wanna look it up, I'll just tell you,
the answer is no.
But when it was formed,
Donald Trump said that the Department
of Government Efficiency would quote,
provide advice and guidance from outside of government.
And hey, does this seem outside to you?
Is storming in and throwing tantrums and wrecking up the place providing advice?
Of course, by being labeled as outside the government, this department is not subject
to the same transparency laws while seeming to have all the same power.
Does that sit well with you?
Do you like that there's a new department run by the CEO of tech and car companies with
no oversight?
It's now just sending people into departments and shutting the employees out and just going
through your information.
Does that sound like something this country was founded on?
Did the founding fathers want a single unelected person
to have that kind of personal power?
Is that what you voted for?
Is that not exactly the type of deep state shadow government

that Trump supporters were trying to avoid?
Maybe you still support a lot of what Trump is doing,
or maybe you're simply checked out
and are assuming it's not as bad as it sounds, it's worse.
You're probably very tired from politics.
Boy, do I get that.
See how I'm like you in a very relatable way?
We could have a beer together or smooch.
But if what I just said doesn't really sit well with you,
like if it pings you a bit, maybe keep watching.
Because we're actually gonna circle back to Musk.
This is what's known as a cold open.
First, we need to walk through the current policies
and plans of the Trump administration
and explain with as little editorializing as we can,
simply how they would work and how they would affect you.
That's it.
That is most of this video.
I'm just going to say the things that are happening
and what the result of those things are.
Let's start with Trump's plan for tariffs,
a thing we all definitely understand.
Tariffs, that thing we all definitely understand.
Trump issued a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, as well as a 10% tariff
on China.
Currently, the Canada and Mexico tariffs have been paused for 30 days.
As we all know and understand, tariffs are a form of tax placed on goods being imported
into a country. This country, that means the person or company in America
that is importing the product has to pay that tax.
So if they're paying more to import it
in order to sell it or manufacture it as something
that they're gonna sell and make a profit,
you will also pay more to them.
Traditionally speaking,
Americans don't really like this kind of thing.
For example, there was this time
when we were asked to pay a tax on tea imports,
and it didn't go very well
for the people imposing that tax.
And to be clear, this also does hurt the other country
in that it encourages Americans
not to buy products from them
because those products became too expensive.
The problem, however, is that there are simply
a lot of things we buy that aren't made
in the United States.
For example, Trump merchandise.
I'm sorry, cheap shot I had to.
Cheap shot, more like cheap shot.
My point is, the reason why these tariffs
can threaten other countries
is because we are a large market for them.
The list is actually quite long and includes stuff like gasoline, these tariffs can threaten other countries is because we are a large market for them.

account for 70% of our crude oil imports. Also the import of fresh fruits, which Mexico
and Canada, let's just call them Mexida, which Mexida contributes 53% of, along with
89% of vegetable imports.
If you hate fruit and vegetables, don't,
you should eat them, they're good for you.
But I'm sorry to say that beef
is also going to get more expensive.
Also, French fries and other potato products,
cars and auto parts will take a big hit as well.
Electronics and toys, of course.
Most of our video game systems are made possible by China,
but maybe you have cool outdoor
kids who play golf or whatever people do outside.
Talk about golf?
Well, tariffs are also going to raise the price of sports equipment.
Turns out, when you threaten to enact tariffs, what you're threatening is that you'll
cut off the American people from the stuff they buy in order to hurt the country selling it.
And you may notice that this also hurts Americans
who want or need that stuff.
That doesn't affect Trump, does it?
He probably doesn't notice
if getting an oil change costs more now,
but you will because according to one automotive company,
it's going to cost over $100
to get your oil changed under these tariffs.
It should be noted that he initially proposed this
as a way around income taxes, which we'll talk about.
But now his current reasoning is to use them as a threat
to stop the flow of fentanyl into the United States.
And so you might see that as a worthy cause
to pay more for products.
We actually did a video on fentanyl
that addressed the nuance of the problem.
And while Mexico and China absolutely contribute
to the issue, Trump's tariffs failed to address
or solve the very factual fact
that the number one smugglers of fentanyl
into the United States are factually other Americans
and through legal ports of entry.
But okay, I guess Trump is also concerned
about migrants coming through the border too.
And even though these tariffs are risky,
they have apparently been getting him some results.
And they've agreed to put in 10,000 soldiers permanently,
like forever, 10,000 soldiers at their side of the border
and stop fentanyl and illegal aliens
from coming into our country.
They have a big incentive to do.
There you have it.
Mexico is sending 10,000 troops like forever to the border.
Oh wait, sorry, that's an article from 2021
when Biden was president.
Do we have another?
There you go, 15,000 troops.
Wait, no, that article is from 2019
when Trump was president the first time.
So it turns out that this is just a thing
we've asked Mexico to do in the past,
but without having to threaten tariffs.
So did anything new come of these negotiations?
Well, Trump also agreed to stop the flow of guns
into Mexico from America.
Okay, I mean, good for Mexico,
bad for cool Robert Rodriguez action scenes,
but good for Mexico.
But again, did we need tariffs to do this?
It sounds like Mexico wanted that.
In fact, if continued over a long amount of time,
putting tariffs on Mexico is more likely
to damage their economy in a way
that would lead to increased immigration.
Just thinking about that logically,
if Trump financially devastates Mexico,
more people will want to leave Mexico.
It destabilizes everything.
It's like getting in a fight with your neighbor
that just keeps escalating
until both of your lawns are on fire.
Don't you want to have a good neighbor?
Like that Wilson guy from that home improvement we all love.
Remember how you couldn't see his face?
What was he hiding?
A big tongue?
Was Wilson hiding a big stupid tongue?
Anyway, when you can get the same results simply through diplomacy, why do this?
Like part of Canada's agreement is a plan to ramp up border security that they had already
announced weeks before these tariffs.
The only thing that's different is that these countries are now going to retaliate
against the United States.
China, for example, has already begun to enact tariffs of their own.
Canada has followed suit, threatening tariffs that would specifically target red state products
such as oranges from Florida and appliances made in Ohio and South Carolina.
You might think of this as a game of economic chicken, some kind of pissing contest.
Is pissing a swear word?
Some kind of tinkle contest between world leaders that will tire itself out.
But you might have forgotten the reason
Trump originally proposed tariffs,
which is to use tariffs to replace income taxes.
That means these tariffs he keeps threatening
are in his eyes an inevitability,
but also a threat, which is it?
It can't be both policy that's good
and that we need economically
and also a threat that will be rescinded
once a deal about border security is made.
He's wielding the tariffs like a weapon
while also saying that he'll eventually do them
no matter what, because they're good.
And would replacing income taxes even work?
Great question.
Let's answer it.
Taxes.
Boo!
Yeah, we hate them.
I get it.
I would rather not pay money than not, not pay money.
That's why I just walk into the movie theater
and spit if they try to stop me.
But the thing about replacing income tax with tariffs
is that simply put, the math doesn't work.
For starters, you may notice that the entire point
of Trump threatening these tariffs
is so these countries will make less
from the products they import.
Meaning that Americans would, by design,
want to buy these products less
and swap to American businesses.
If, in theory, we began manufacturing everything in-house,
that would generate zero revenue from tariffs, correct?
Meanwhile, in 2023, the IRS raked in a total
of $2.6 trillion in income taxes from individuals
before issuing around $461.2 billion in refunds.
For reference, the U.S. only collected $77 billion in tariffs in 2024.
That would mean in order to replace income taxes,
the tariffs would have to be astronomically high to offset that loss.
It's just, you know, the math.

77 billion, less than symbol, 2.6 trillion.
The alligator wants to eat the larger number.
I guess they're hoping to also downsize the government
to make up the loss.
But those cuts would have to be impossibly drastic.
For reference, last year, social security cost $1.5 trillion. We probably don't want to
cut that. We kinda need that. Luckily, I'm sure Trump and Musk totally think Social Security is
good and worth keeping. Meanwhile, Trump is looking to pare down the IRS and has already
initiated a hiring freeze that could delay your tax refund this year. He's now sending 90,000 newly hired IRS agents to guard the border?
For some reason?
I guess to audit the people crossing?
See, you might see the IRS as a pest.
Because it is.
I hate paying taxes.
I hate it.
I put a little P on all my returns so everyone at the IRS has P hands.
So logically, having fewer IRS agents
might seem like a good idea.
But let me ask you this, when you go into the DMV,
would you rather them be overstaffed or understaffed?
Either way, you have to go to the DMV.
They make you, even if you cry.
And so by understaffing the IRS,
Trump isn't abolishing taxes.
He's just making it harder for everyone to do them.
Like why is Elon Musk saying
that the IRS direct file page is deleted?
It's not by the way, but why would he go after that?
It costs us nothing to have that.
It's good to have that
to reduce unnecessary middleman vultures like TurboTax.
On top of this, having fewer IRS agents
actually makes it more likely that you will get audited.
It turns out that part of the Inflation Reduction Act
that increased funding to the IRS
was designed to specifically focus their efforts
on auditing wealthy earners
who might not be paying their fair share.
See, because rich people tend to have more resources
to dodge or litigate that stuff,
it takes more IRS agents to counteract that and audit them.
But with fewer agents, they tend to go after smaller fish,
otherwise known as you and me, us.
We know this because it's exactly what happened
last time Trump was president and cut the IRS budget.
Again, I get that people don't like the IRS
and see cheating on taxes as a virtue,
but can you do that?
Do you have people who will help you do that
and get away with it?
Trump's nominee to head the IRS,
a former House representative named Billy Long, is
another guy who is very gung-ho about enabling people to get around taxes.
He actually worked as a tax advisor, enabling businesses to get special credits aimed at
companies hurt during the pandemic, even if they weren't hurt by it.
We went from having to say COVID adversely affected your business definitely,
to taking that away,
and you don't have to prove that you had any downturn.
We're doing recoveries for folks
that had their best two years ever during COVID.
He's sort of just explaining tax fraud there.
To be clear, what he did wasn't technically illegal,
but several people did quit his company
after having a crisis of conscience,
and several of his clients would later get flagged by the IRS.
Billy is not an accountant in any way,
and his grand plan for the IRS is somewhat different from Trump's.
He is a big supporter of the proposed Fair Tax Act,
which would abolish the IRS and replace it with a single sales tax.
Now, that might sound like it could work
if you don't think about it.
People have thought about it
and have concluded that it's not a good idea,
but even people who support the idea raise concerns
about the Fair Tax Act, specifically that,
just like tariffs, it simply wouldn't make enough revenue for
the government.
The math just doesn't work unless you make drastic cuts.
Also, more importantly, and perhaps obviously, it would punish low-income families who would
find that the rising cost of products would not offset the refund they would normally
receive.
In true Trump fashion,
it's ostensibly just a tax cut for the wealthy.
Ultimately, this money has to come from somewhere.
And a lot of these proposals are simply moving
one form of tax to another form of tax.
It's not designed to reduce your taxes.
It's just changing how you'll pay.
And of course, Trump's actual official tax plan
is what you would expect,
extending his tax cuts for the wealthy
that will cost upward of $4.5 trillion,
so they have to raise the debt ceiling by $4 trillion
and make cuts to Medicaid and food stamps.
Again, he's hurting you,
messing with the budget in fun and exciting ways.
And this is when things really start to directly affect everyone,
beyond things just costing more.
I know it's been a bit dry so far,
what with all the money and math and lack of fun swear words.

So before the break, we were talking about
how the only way Trump's tax plans would work
is if the federal budget was way, way, way, way,
way, way, way lower.
And technically speaking, that could happen.
That's what Elon's department is supposed
to be helping make happen.
After all, he's the guy who cut 80% of Twitter's staff
and that's still working, right?
I mean, coincidentally, 80% is also the amount

The budget, AKA all the stuff.

Imagine a PTA bake sale.
A group of students and parents are raising money
for the kids to take a trip to, I don't know,
where do average kids in middle America go?
A NASCAR-themed cruise.
The idea there is that everyone gives a little bit of money
and or effort for a large expense.
To any individual, this isn't going to be a big hardship.
But for the kids looking to meet Richard Petty
and try some of his limited edition roaming man whiskey,
every cent and every volunteer makes the difference.
That's all to say that each individual cut might not actually reduce your taxes nearly as much
as it's going to harm you in other ways.
For example, when Elon Musk muses about redistributing the remaining $711 million dollars
in CFPB funding back to the taxpayers, that's like two bucks a person.
Cool, thanks. That's much better than the $19 billion
the CFPB has saved consumers over the years.
See, sometimes we just have to pay for things
so that our lives are good.
And a lot of those things aren't as obvious
as trash collection and mail delivery.
Now, Trump's argument is that this system is corrupt.
To bring back my metaphor, he's saying that the bake sale money isn't going to the NASCAR
cruise at all, but rather spent on frivolous or corrupt activities, like a nude cruise
or something.
He might be right about some of that, and there are ways to go about discovering that.
So if that's the concern, it's pretty odd. He just fired 17 inspectors general literally overnight.
Those are the people specifically there
to ensure taxpayer money is handled properly.
If you think he did it
because they were corrupt Biden loyalists or something,
at least two of them were originally nominated
by Trump in his first term.
People are baffled, especially since this might have been illegal
since you're only supposed to fire them for, you know, an actual reason.
But in terms of the federal budget itself and Trump's plan to cut spending,
such as the elimination of the Department of Education,
you have to wonder what that would look like for most people.
I don't mean to sound smug, because I'm not, and I don't even know what it means, okay? you have to wonder what that would look like for most people.

but it should be noted that the states
that often benefit the most from these agencies
are red states.
For example, while public school is largely funded
by local and state governments,
the DOE has always supplemented those gaps in funding.
And the states that need funding the most
are places like Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky,
South Dakota, and Montana, not California,
not New York, not Massachusetts.
None of those elite blue states need the DOE
as much as red states do.
So when I say this is going to hurt you,
I mean you, the Trump voters.
We're worried for you.
Probably the best terrible taste we've gotten
of how bad this can get
was when he ordered a federal spending freeze
right at the end of January.
Remember that?
There was a short- term pause or funding freeze
on certain discretionary spending payments
such as government grants only for us to quickly look
at the scams, dishonesty, waste and abuse
that's taken place in our government for too long.
To be clear, Trump only rescinded the freeze
after a federal judge blocked it
because it wasn't legal to do.
Also, he didn't actually rescind it, I guess.
Also, also Trump didn't originally say
it was to look at scams and abuse.
To back up, this all started when the office of management
and budget put out a memo saying,
and I'm just gonna read all of this.
Financial assistance should be dedicated
to advancing administration priorities, focusing
taxpayer dollars to advance a stronger and safer America, eliminating the financial burden
of inflation for citizens, unleashing American energy and manufacturing, ending wokeness
and the weaponization of government, promoting efficiency in government and making America healthy again. The use of federal resources to advance Marxist equity,
transgenderism, and Green New Deal social engineering
policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars
that does not improve the day-to-day lives
of those we serve.
To implement these orders, each agency must complete
a comprehensive analysis of all of
their federal financial assistance programs to identify programs, projects, and activities
that may be implicated by any of the President's executive orders.
In the interim, to the extent permissible under applicable law, federal agencies must
temporarily pause all activities related to obligation or disbursement
of all federal financial assistance.
A lot to unpack there.
But imagine if you got a new manager at work
and they decided to halt all operations
in order to root out a broad ideology
that they had decided was wasteful.
Like even the lunchroom is closed.
Would that seem like a good manager to you?
Have you ever been at a workplace where, in the name of efficiency, everything was suddenly
made less efficient?
But my actual point here is that this temporary freeze actually gave us a really good taste
of what happens if you completely gut government spending.
The result is chaos, and people losing things they need.
This is seemingly the goal as well.
Elon Toady, Jason Calacanis, in response to Amy Klobuchar
pointing out that this indiscriminate slashing and burning
is affecting cancer research as well,
said that we should just be sort of shutting everything down
and seeing what hurts people, what doesn't hurt people,
what works, what doesn't,
randomly shut everything down.
That's how to do it, because it's not going to affect him.
He can simply go on X and beg the government to bail him out and they'll do it.
Klobuchar is talking about cancer research and he likens it to Netflix getting paused.
Because these people hate you and don't care if you get hurt.
Just shut it all down and see what happens
is their method to increase efficiency.
For example, just unplugging USAID
resulted in about $500 million worth of food assistance
just sitting and rotting in ports and warehouses.
And when somebody pointed that out, they fired that person.
Some of the programs that were paused
to root out Marxist equity and transgenderism
were for real the Veterans Affairs Department
suicide prevention grants,
the National School Lunch Program,
Wildfire Crisis Strategy Landscapes,
Special Education Grants to states,
the gosh darn High Int drug trafficking areas program,
which is designed to help cops stop drug crimes
if you're into something like that.
Me, I never do drugs, ask anyone, we are TMCR here.
Totally mild and clean, really.
Also, Medicaid websites were down in every state.
This move created absolute chaos.
He asked every federal agency to stop their funding
so he can root out things like transgenderism.
Hey, how do you do that?
How do you root out Marxist equity?
What process do you follow as like an inspector of something?
To identify if the Lake Tahoe Erosion Control Grant Program
is guilty of doing wokeness,
I'm genuinely asking you to genuinely ask yourself
that question, how does erosion control root out the gaze?
Set your theodolite to swing both ways.

exploration of every nook and cranny.
But what we're actually seeing
is more like someone bulldozing a house.
It's like that Gore Verbinski movie where Nathan Lane
and the guy from There's Something About Mary
completely destroy a house in order to do a mouse hunt.
And just like the plot of that American classic
I couldn't remember the name of,
this is going to hurt the people who wanted it.
Because as I said, this spending freeze
mainly threatened red states, states like Louisiana,
which gets half of its entire budget from federal revenues.
They got very nervous when this freeze happened,
pleading with Trump to resolve the situation
as fast as possible and expressing confusion
about the entire situation.
Because this is important to remember,
no one knew this was coming.
I mean, technically millions of people knew it was coming
and warned about it.
And there was a whole published project and plan
describing all these things that would happen,
but whatever, it happened very quickly.
We didn't know it was still so sudden and chaotic.
No one could prepare.
Does that sound like good governing to you?
If you live in Appalachia,
an area that relies greatly on federal funding,
do you want to be blindsided by stuff like this?
Do you want to wake up one day and be told by your boss
that you might have to be laid off
because someone thinks they saw a trans person
in the hallway of the agency that's signing your paychecks?
This doesn't only affect government jobs.
You see that. It's any job that's working your paychecks. This doesn't only affect government jobs. You see that.
It's any job that's working for an organization
that relies on government money.
You might not even realize I'm talking about you right now.
And at the moment, we just don't know
what areas will be permanently gutted.
But we do have some idea.
For example, FEMA, Trump has specifically mused about deleting or taking over FEMA.
He clearly wants to have more control over where disaster aid goes.
But and this should chill you no matter who you voted for.
He's already been giving conditions for that aid that have nothing to do with the
severity of the disaster.
A little funding to Los Angeles
because of its sanctuary city policy.
I wanna see two things in Los Angeles,
voter ID so that the people have a chance to vote.
And I wanna see the water be released
and come down into Los Angeles and throughout the state.
Those are the two things.
After that, I will be the greatest president
that California has ever seen.
Maybe you agree with the voter ID thing.
I mean, I don't, but maybe you do.
Do you still think it's a good idea
to extort states using disaster aid
in order to push a political agenda?
Aren't Republicans into like states' rights and stuff?
Imagine if Joe Biden refused to give hurricane aid
to Florida unless they lifted all bans on abortion.
Or imagine if you're a Republican living in LA
who needs that help, or a person in LA.
But if you are a Republican,
this also hurts on a political level
since GOP House members are being forced
to either side with Trump or with their constituents.
Because here's the other thing
about Trump's conditional aid.
That water he wanted sent down?
Well, if you live in LA or are a farmer or a firefighter,
you already know that that water isn't going to help.
We know this because they did open those reservoirs
on Trump's orders and it didn't help.
In fact, it hurt the state.
Trump was objectively wrong.
For starters, the water he ordered to be released
didn't even reach Los Angeles.
Like geographically, physically,
it couldn't actually flow to Los Angeles.
It went to a dry lake bed hundreds of miles away where it will evaporate. This
is especially disastrous because that was supposed to be used for farmers during the
dry season. Now it's gone. Not to mention that they simply didn't need more water
down there in the first place. The problem, according to the CEO of the LA Department
of Water and Power, wasn't a lack of water,
but a failure of the pipeline to deliver it from the main trunk line.
They had plenty of water in the main trunk line, so adding more wouldn't help that.
It's an infrastructure problem.
And so I ask you, any Trump supporters who accidentally found this video like the tape in the ring,
does that seem competent to you?
Trump is posting about how he created
this beautiful water flow and saved the day,
but he actually inserted himself in the problem
for PR and spite purposes
and objectively made it worse instead.
It's like when your little sibling
wants to play your video game
and just cakes the controller with candy debris.
Sure, you can smack him, but guess who's the jerk suddenly?
Stupid Kyle.
Annoying little stupid fake made up Kyle.
And now Trump is trying to involve himself with everything.
He's looking to downsize or delete every federal agency and replace it with something
he has more oversight of.
And for you, the person who might be concerned about taxes,
that might seem good.
But to go back to the bake sale NASCAR booze cruise analogy,
stuff like meals on wheels,
which was threatened by the funding freeze,
doesn't actually take much money
from our federal government.
According to them, it's about 35% of the meals they
wheel. So to us, the taxpayers, that's like pennies of what we get taken out. But for
them, it means a world of difference. And so it's hard to imagine what programs we
could make these huge spending cuts to that would equal trillions of savings in order to rely solely on
sales tax or tariffs without completely sending our country into disarray. Trump and Musk want to cut
$2 trillion from our budget, but just for reference, in 2022, the federal government only spent $271
billion to compensate their civilian employees. You simply can't fire enough people to make a dent.
And maybe they know that,
and maybe the goal isn't to save you taxes
or get rid of taxes,
but just dismantle these agencies for other reasons.
And speaking of disarray, boy,
have you thought about what might happen
if we have another pandemic?
Healthcare and drugs, not the cool guy.
Hey now, no drugs are cool.
I don't do drugs.
Get outta here.
So let's at the start of this,
pretend that COVID wasn't a big deal.
I mean, it was, it killed a lot of people,
but let's just say you're someone that thinks
the CDC was overreacting or that mask bans or lockdowns
were a waste and we faked a freak out about a light flu.
Do you think that about all future pandemics?
Like if that movie Contagion happened,
do you think we still shouldn't have masks or lockdowns?
Or were you just bothered by COVID specifically?
I am genuinely asking.
Write down your answer and mail it, please.
Logically speaking, it would be very odd to think that there's no such thing as
any disease or any pandemic, right?
In fact, we are literally experiencing a bird flu problemo right now.
So it really doesn't seem wise to, say, block the CDC from sharing their data with
healthcare professionals like nurses and doctors and hospitals.
Trump did that in his first week, as well as instructing the various federal health
agencies under the Department of Health and Human Services to pause all of their external
communication, such as health advisories
or social media posts.
Why do that?
Does that help us?
Does that help you?
I'll make it simple.
Remember how one of the big concerns was egg prices?
Like we gotta get rid of the Democrats and wokeness
because eggs are too expensive.
And now it seems like egg prices are only getting higher.
That's because of the bird flu
that's currently spreading throughout the country.
This disease is killing our pets as we speak
and has killed one human as of filming this.
And so it is so clearly important for the CDC
to be able to send out alerts and updates right now. And so it's very strange and dare I say,
bad and incompetent to order the CDC
to shut off their communications with hospitals.
Did you know that they found out
that bird flu can be passed from your cat to you?
Just one more way your cat can destroy you.
They knew that.
And they had to delete their findings after Trump ordered them to stop.
How is that helpful?
Is that not hurtful?
Additionally, bird flu is a global problem, and yet Trump has pulled out of the World
Health Organization, citing mishandling of the COVID pandemic.
He's probably not wrong in that reports have found that the WHO did mishandle COVID.
Did you know who else did?
The United States.
The CDC absolutely screwed it up.
As did Trump.
Pretty much our entire government failed during COVID.
There's a lot of blame to spread around.
But that doesn't really justify exiting the WHO, which serves to coordinate global
responses to pandemics and other health emergencies.
Trump is claiming to be steering policy
to put America first,
but diseases don't have nationalities.
Much like your germ-ridden cat, they don't see borders.
And Trump knows this.
The value of sharing information
and collaborating between countries to combat disease was one
of the core premises behind Trump's Operation Warp Speed.
By removing ourselves from the WHO, all we're doing is weakening our ability to respond
to a global pandemic, thus hurting more Americans.
Remember how, at the top of this, I said that people tend to choke to death in bathrooms?

We're removing ourselves from the support of the world in the name of independence.
And so unless our Department of Health and Human Services is really on the ball, this
is going to jeopardize us.

It's going to be run by this guy talking to Bernie Sanders.
Vaccines do not cause autism.
Do you agree with that?
As I said, I'm not gonna go into HHS with any pre-artane.
I ask you a simple question, Bobby.

Right, so RFK, if you're watching, thanks,

During his confirmation, RFK Jr. claimed
that he isn't anti-vaccine,

and draw his own conclusions.
But he has been shown that evidence over and over again.

he'll publicly apologize, but then apologize for what?
He claimed he isn't anti-vaccine, so that's weird.
Also, the counter-study he cited in his hearing has a whole bunch of obvious issues and was
by a guy who already has some redacted studies.
Because RFK doesn't have a medical background.
He's a lawyer with an axe to grind.
Doesn't it seem odd that the guy being charged with overseeing America's health also ran
a personal campaign specifically
against vaccines.
Doesn't it worry you, considering right now a town in Texas with the lowest vaccination
rates and highest school exemption rates from measles vaccination is currently having a
measles outbreak?
That shouldn't be happening.
Does any of this worry you, especially since Trump has flat out said he's going to let RFK Jr.,
again a man with no medical background, do whatever he wants.
And I'm gonna let him go wild on health. I'm gonna let him go wild on the food.
I'm gonna let him go wild on medicines.
I don't know, man. Honestly, some of what RFK believes is, in my opinion, not terrible.
He wants to cut down on processed foods
and end pharmaceutical ads on TV.
He's willing to explore using psychedelics
for medical treatments.
Not that I do drugs, okay?
But he's one of those guys who's right on the line
of reason, and then he trips and falls over
on the other side.
Because he also thinks vaccines and fluoride are bad
and is boasted that he only drinks raw milk?
Boy, don't do that, Bobby.
Did you not just hear about the bird flu?
He also wants to replace a lot of HHS staff
with people who, like him, aren't medical experts.
Also, just my opinion, but I sort of suspect
he won't even be allowed to do the stuff he wants to do.
I mean, Trump loves fast food, right?
Here they all are eating it together.
Most people like fast food.
Trump's policies actually seem to go directly against a lot of what RFK is saying. For example,
some of Trump's executive orders were aimed at undoing directives to lower drug costs
and expand Medicaid. How does eliminating the lowering of drug costs help you?
Sounds like it empowers the pharmaceutical companies
RFK is going after.
And so more likely, RFK will be there to allow Trump
to downsize the HHS,
like he means to do with every other agency.
He is extremely unprepared for another pandemic.
And in fact, right now, the biggest pushes they are making
are to go after abortions and eliminate guidance on HIV
and contraception from federal websites,
at least until a judge told them to reverse that.
If Project 2025 is any indication, and it should be,
the plan is most likely to use HHS
to push more and more oppressive laws
around reproductive health.
According to Project 2025, exact quote,
HHS should return to being known as the Department of Life
by explicitly rejecting the notion that abortion is health care.
Now, Trump may have said he had nothing to do with Project 2025,
but so far, a whole lot of his executive orders match up perfectly
with it.
So you have to ask yourself, are you okay living in a country where abortion becomes
outlawed?
Maybe you are.
Maybe you want to live in a country where women are required to give birth, even if
it means they will die doing it, or that they were raped, or one of the many extremely practical
and vital reasons someone might need to terminate a pregnancy.
And whether or not you realize it, this is going to affect someone you know.
A friend or sister or aunt or mother or daughter or that girl at Starbucks who said she liked
your shirt but probably just says that to everyone so you really, really shouldn't
make a move.
Also, men.
Men are affected by this because they tend to get
people pregnant. And heck, I know you're gonna hate this, folks, but some of them can get pregnant.
This is actually where we might have to draw a moral line in the sand, because there are certain
things that Trump is doing that, while having consequences for everyone, is going to have more
consequences for specific people. And at a certain point, you just have to decide
if you have empathy for those people or not.
If we're in this together or not.

Okay, so we've been talking a lot
about these bureaucratic decisions that will trickle down
to hurt all of us.
What we're going to talk about next is designed to directly harm a specific group of people.
There's in fact a few groups of people who are getting hurt.
We did an entire other video on being transgender in this country that you can watch.
We urge you to watch it and like and subscribe and so on.
But for the sake of this video, we want to talk about Trump's plan
to purge the country of criminal immigrants,
otherwise known as people you probably know
and absolutely rely on to live and maybe even like.
Also, some of them aren't criminals or immigrants.
Migrants, humans who need help.
Listen, if you're a conservative, then we're simply not going to agree on immigration,
at least not for the purposes of this video.
But I'm going to assume two things about the person watching.
Number one, they have empathy and want other people to live happy lives so long as they
aren't hurting others.
And two, they probably aren't torn up over the prospect of a murderer or rapist
being detained or deported.
One of the concerns of Trump supporters has been crime,
which is odd because he pardoned nearly everyone
who was convicted on January 6th,
including people who attacked police.
Many of them are now being re-arrested
for other violent offenses,
including trying to rape a 15-year-old.
But anyway, we can have a whole other
one-sided video conversation on criminal justice.
But I think most people can agree
that we at least don't want to punish someone
who isn't guilty of a crime, right?
Well, one of the first bills that Donald Trump signed
is called the Lakin-Riley Act,
a bipartisan bill that you can read right here.
It states that Homeland Security can detain any immigrant
who quote, is charged with, is arrested for,
is convicted of, admits having committed
or admits committing acts which constitute
the essential elements of any burglary, theft, larceny,
shoplifting, or assault of a law enforcement officer offense,
or any
crime that results in death or serious bodily injury to another person.
And the word I actually want to call out here is arrested, by definition, which we should
go by because we're talking about laws here.
Being arrested or charged with a crime means that you have been accused of a crime.
Not that you did a crime, means that you have been accused of a crime. Not that you did a crime.
This act also has no minimum age limit, and they include every level of crime there, even shoplifting.
So that means that a child could shoplift and be detained for it, or simply be accused
of shoplifting and still be detained.
That is wild!
I know that's a hypothetical,
but our laws are built on hypotheticals.
They are there to protect us
from the evil dangers of hypotheticals.
And this law makes it so that somebody
could simply accuse an immigrant of a crime
and that person would be detained and possibly deported.
See, there seems to be this misconception that Trump is simply going after criminals.
It's that Marie Kondo thing again,
where you might assume ICE is specifically targeting people
who did something bad, but they aren't doing that.
For example, of the 1,200 people ICE arrested
on January 26th, a whopping 48% of them
have no criminal record,
some of whom are here on legal visas.
Here's a guy who's been here for 30 years
who got detained.
How does that even make him an immigrant?
Some of the ICE agents arresting him
probably haven't been alive for 30 years.
In fact, there have been ICE raids
where they've accidentally detained US citizens
who just
happen to be dark skinned.
Do you have dark skin?
If you do, then perhaps you should be nervous about ICE coming around your town.
Should you or anyone who isn't a criminal have to worry about being suddenly rounded
up and detained like this?
And not just in their homes or on the streets, but in your kids' schools or a hospital or a church,
Trump has revoked an order that would have barred ICE
from going to those places.
Why?
What's the point of that?
Think about that.
If you're in a hospital, you aren't going anywhere.
If you're at school or church,
well, you have to come out sometime.
So why be that cruel to people who in nearly half
of the cases have no criminal record?
It's already started.
At least one father was detained in front of his wife
and kids while at church.
Do you think that's something that Jesus would have wanted
or is that more of a directive from the other dude down below?
What is his name?
Mole Man?
Yeah, that's the guy.
This is the work of Mole Man, isn't it?
It's happening everywhere.
Cities and farms.
ICE is going around and raiding places and rounding people up no matter if they are young,
or old, or or guilty or innocent.
That's because Trump is now issuing quotas for ICE officers.
Does that seem like a good way to deal with crime to you?
See, this isn't actually about criminals. I'm sorry, it just isn't.
It's not even about people who entered the country illegally.
If it was, then why did Trump just end several programs designed to
allow people legal access to the United States? Why is he letting Musk cut funding for helping
migrants return to their home countries? Under Trump's administration, there is just no
difference between an immigrant and a criminal. That's why he calls them illegals. Their
existence is a crime. Why do you think he's constructing
a migrant detention center at Fudging, Guantanamo Bay?
Does that seem good?
To take immigrants, many without criminal records,
and put them in the no rules torture camp island.
When was, historically, the last time
people did something like that? Took people they deemed bad and put them in a camp?
Was that time you are now thinking of a good time?
And the thing is, you know an immigrant who will be affected by this.
These are your co-workers, your friends, possibly even your spouse.
You may not even realize that they are in danger, but they are.
Hell, you might get swept up in this.
A lot of people are in danger right now, and depending on how it escalates, what we do
might become an extremely dark chapter in our history books.
We might do unforgivable things to people.
And so you need to ask yourself, is this what our country is about?
Like assuming you aren't personally affected by this, look into your own lineage.
Did you come from immigrants?
How long has your own bloodline been here?
At what point should you be allowed to live here based on that?
I mean, technically, unless you're a Native American,
you aren't from here, right?
And right now, Trump is trying to end birthright citizenship,
something guaranteed by the 14th Amendment
of the Constitution that states,
all persons born or naturalized in the United States
and subject to the jurisdiction thereof
are citizens of the United States
and of the state wherein they reside.
He wants to get rid of that.
And that is fundamentally un-American of him to want.
I'm sorry, it just is.
I don't make the rules.
A bunch of dead people did that.
It's literally in the Constitution.
It was passed in 1866.
Friggin, this guy was president.
Who is that guy?
He seems very serious.
Also, what is the alternative to the 14th Amendment?
If we don't define it as anyone born here,
how do we define a citizen of a country?
At a certain point, if you are still okay with this stuff,
I don't know what to tell you.
Raiding citizens and detaining them in prison camps, suggesting we send United States citizens
to prisons in other countries, repealing parts of the Constitution to limit freedom.
These are really scary things, even if they don't personally affect you.
They are things we were taught about in school as being signs of even scarier things.
But okay, maybe you don't care.
Maybe you like that.
Maybe, like this fellow,
your kid's soccer coach will be deported
and you won't even be able to pretend to empathize or care.
Well, also, I should probably note
that detaining this many immigrants
is going to demolish our economy.
Do you care about that?
Cause it will, objectively so.
America currently has a labor shortage
and removing immigrants from places like farms
isn't going to bring in non-immigrants to fill those gigs.
They just aren't.
People smarter than me have figured this out.
I mean, are you going to go work there?
Are you going to move across the country
and go work at a farm?
Do you already live near a farm
and have you tried to get work at the farm,
but they're like, sorry, no,
we have all these immigrants instead?
Trump has already begun revoking ways
for people to legally work in the US,
and that's going to directly hurt farmers,
many of whom voted for Trump.
As we've already demonstrated earlier,
with him foolishly getting rid of California's water,
he has no problem hurting farmers too.
This is super duper not good for the agriculture industry,
but it's also super duper not good for our entire economy.
According to research,
if Trump manages to deport all the workers he wants,
prices would rise by 9%.
Also, if you are concerned with government spending,
it's probably worth noting
that everything I'm talking about,
everything Trump wants to do with the ICE raids
and deportations and detentions,
will cost taxpayers around $88 billion a year.
How are they gonna pay for that?
I thought we were trying to cut down the budget.
Well, at least some lawmakers have suggested
making cuts to Medicaid,
a target of specifically the GOP for decades.
No idea if that would happen,
but you see why none of this is helpful, right?
Like, do you see how this entire immigration plan
is in no way designed to help you or anyone?
And in fact, it seems like they are willing to hurt us
in order to get this done.
Does that not rattle you a bit
in all these hardships and cruelties I'm outlining?
What is the upside?
What do we, the citizens of this country, get for this?
Was DEI really all that bad?

Hey, I got another question for any Trump supporters
who actually got this far in this video.
Do you know who statistically benefits the most
from DEI policies?
White people.
White women, to be specific, have been able to advance in their jobs thanks to those policies.
You know who else benefits?
Military veterans.
That is one of the statuses these DEI programs looked at.
It stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion, after all. You know who went to school through DEI programs looked at. It stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion after all.
You know who went to school through DEI initiatives?
Vice President JD Vance.
He was given scholarships based on the fact
that he was low income and a veteran.
And I just think that's interesting.
Because to hear people like Trump tell it,
DEI seems to be the catchall reason
for a lot of problems in this country. And yet people don't seem to know what it is.
It's not a broad term, it's a specific type of program to give people with hardships
the ability to seek the same opportunities as others.
That's kind of it.
And yeah, those hardships are often statistically increased discrimination based on their race
or gender or sexual preferences.
Why is that a problem exactly?
Is DEI so bad that we need to create this massive
and taxing witch hunt, and it is a witch hunt.
Right now, there's a website that is posting people
who are guilty of DEI,
and some of the people listed simply voted for a Democrat?
Does that sound politically sound to you?
Do you think people should be fired for who they voted for?
Do you think private companies are allowed
to do what they want?
Because Trump doesn't.
He's ordered the DOJ to investigate any company
that chooses to have a DEI or DEIA initiative.
The A stands for accessibility.
Do you see how this affects a lot of people?
Not just the woke people you might be picturing.
Like he's also lumping in a lot of stuff
that has nothing to do with DEI
and will directly hurt a lot of people in red states.
For example, one of his orders includes the termination
of environmental justice offices
and positions.
And now the EPA's Office of Environmental Justice is likely to close because of this.
That department gives out grants that you can see here.
Those grants are aimed at rural areas of the country that aren't getting enough attention.
Conservatives often talk about not wanting big city elites
to dominate the political landscape. Well, these inclusion initiatives are specifically designed
to help rural communities for this reason. Places like Waterloo, Iowa, which wants to make sure a
nearby manufacturing plant isn't hurting the citizens there, or Mill Creek, Ohio,
which needs help managing runoff pollution from Cincinnati.
This isn't woke-ness.
It's just people like you and me who need very boring things to make sure their lives
don't suck.
But Trump is now removing this help because of this broad idea around DEI.
And that just seems super unserious to me, to see Trump wonder aloud if DEI is to blame
for that mid-air collision in Washington,
when the reality is that there was a staffing issue
at the airport, and in fact, a nationwide staffing shortage
of air traffic controllers.
Does it bother you to see him try to point the finger
at something that had nothing to do with the problem?
I changed the Obama standards
from very mediocre at best to extraordinary.
And then when I left office and Biden took over,
he changed them back to lower than ever before.
What he said there is objectively not true.
He's talking about the aviation development program,
but Trump didn't change anything about that in his first term.
We know this because there was a lawsuit specifically around the program during that first term.
It has remained the same since Obama first created it.
It also requires anyone in the program to meet the same qualifications as any air traffic controller.
Also, the program has only created a single job,
at least as of 2021,
and had nothing to do with the accident.
But when the program is a lack of people working in that job,
a lack of oversight that caused a deadly plane crash,
does it bug you that Trump has been stripping down the FAA,
firing people, not building it up?
For the record, that didn't cause the crash either, but between the Aviation Development
Program and Trump firing aviation officials, which is more likely to cause an issue or
future issues?
See, in my opinion, all these budget and staff cuts in the name of DEI or curbing government
waste on foreign aid or frivolous things, none of it adds up.
Right before the pandemic,
non-defense discretionary spending by our government
hit an all-time low.
The problems we are facing in this country
can't be attributed to a bloated budget
or inclusion measures.
They just can't.
But what does seem like a problem to me
is when the world's richest man
who owns multiple companies
with contracts with multiple governments is given this broad access to our federal government
in the name of efficiency. Except it's not even about that anymore either, is it? Was
it ever about that? Elon Musk called USAID evil. Not even because of their work at trying
to foment coups or revolutions, which he loves,
but because of fake woke stuff.
The entire organization, evil.
Does that sound like he's impartially looking at the
numbers and making budget decisions?
Or is that an ideological opinion?
And do you agree with it?
Did you elect Elon Musk to change the budget
based on his ideology?
Do you know what USAID does?
Enough to agree that it's evil and should it be gutted?
One thing I do know about USAID
is that it was investigating Starlink,
a company Elon Musk owns,
at the time that his department began to target it.

It also is responsible for bringing humanitarian aid to other countries.
And if you think that we shouldn't waste money on other countries, then what do you
think about this?
The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too.
We'll own it, and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and We have an opportunity to do something that could be phenomenal.

you are doing ethnic cleansing.
If we can get a beautiful area to resettle people permanently in nice homes and where
they can be happy and not be shot, not be killed, not be knifed to death like what's
happening in Gaza.

No doubt we'll totally move all the Palestinians to somewhere good and beautiful that is also
uninhabited for some reason.

parts of the government that specifically regulate him and his businesses.
Deleting the CFPB, an agency that regulates banking apps right before starting a banking
app. getting a government
grant to produce something called Armored Teslas?
The world's richest man standing behind the president at his desk, eliminating agencies
designed to help you so that it can help him instead.
No one knows what Doge is doing.
They are being the opposite of transparent,
despite Elon saying they're actually the most transparent

Trump has marked him as a special government employee.

to keep us from knowing that?

Putting huge groups of people on administrative leave for no reason.
That's not how administrative leave works.
It's illegal to block money that Congress already approved.
The lawsuits are already piling up.
How is that making the government more efficient?
And here's why it should scare you.
Because logically, what should happen next
is that people would get in trouble, right?
Whether or not you like what they are doing,
they are breaking laws.
Elon Musk in any other administration,
would have to step down at the least.
We're already seeing articles of impeachment,
not that those mean anything.
And if you recall, Trump got into a lot of trouble
when he left office,
and would have gotten in more trouble
had he not been re-elected.
In his final report to the Attorney General,
Special Counsel Jack Smith stood behind his
decision to criminally charge President-elect Trump for his efforts to overturn the 2020
election.
Quote, but for Mr. Trump's election and imminent return to the presidency, the office
assessed that the admissible evidence was sufficient to obtain and sustain a conviction
at trial.
What I'm getting at here is that Donald Trump, in theory, will only be the president
for four more years.
Now, you might be recalling how the Supreme Court gave him immunity for any actions within
his constitutional powers.
But some of what he's now doing is already going outside of those powers.
He's already defying one of the court orders, which is blatantly illegal.
He is pushing and pushing and pushing the limits,
trying very hard to expand what a president is allowed to do.
But only for four years, right?
What happens after those four years?
What happens if another Democrat, I don't know,
maybe Joe Biden becomes president again?
He's still got some juice left.
Then that Democrat gets all these superpowers,
and no doubt Trump and Musk will be in trouble, right?
You have to understand, if they keep defying these orders,
they're supposed to go to jail for it.
And so the very scary question I want you to ask
is whether you think Donald Trump thinks
he won't be president after four years,
or thinks he'll ever go to jail for breaking the law.
Are he and Elon Musk acting like people who will eventually face legal consequences?
To me, they don't seem to be considering consequences at all, and that means one of two
things. Either they are too incompetent to realize the consequences, or they don't think they
will face consequences, and are actively working to reshape the very foundation of this government
to benefit themselves.
There is a reason this is being called a constitutional crisis by law experts.
The judicial branch is specifically there to keep the executive and legislative branches
from breaking the law.
And now the courts are saying that Trump and Musk
are breaking the law.
And in response, they are attacking the courts
and defying those rulings.
JD Vance tweeted that, quote,
judges aren't allowed to control
the executive's legitimate power.
Not only is that a lie,
but a lie that anyone who took social studies would flag.
It is very clearly stated in Article 3 of the Constitution that judicial power extends to all cases in the United States.
That's the entire point of that branch.
And the Vice President is saying that's bad and wrong,
either because he's ignorant of the Constitution, which would be wild for a VP, or he's lying
and purposefully trying to destabilize the judicial branch
so that his administration can do whatever it wants.
That's why he slipped in legitimate, right?
It lets him create a false distinction.
Well, obviously judges limit executive power,
but they can't control the executive's legitimate power.
Like, it doesn't even mean anything.
He is lying to you.
And if they succeed, if they manage to dismantle
the checks and balances that prevent this country
from a dictatorship, then America is over.
Do you think that will be good for you?
That's not alarmist to say.
We're talking about the function of a system.
It doesn't matter if you like Trump,
if someone you knew repeatedly managed to bring a shotgun
to the airport and fly with it,
even if you trusted that person,
surely you'd realize that the TSA has fundamentally failed.
You would never fly again.
So whether or not you trust or like Trump, what he's doing right now
is going to hurt you. It just is. Maybe it'll be gradual, things will start to cost more,
or your trash might not be collected as often. People you know might suddenly go away or
be hurt. Maybe it'll be sudden and obvious, like when he made tons of money on a meme
coin at the expense of a whole bunch of other people.
But whatever it is and however long it takes,
he's going to hurt you.
This is going to hurt you.
And you need to ask yourself, is it worth it?
What are you getting from it?
Is it worth it?
