Somewhere in the Skies - 250 British Police Officers Break Their Silence on UFO Encounters | Inspector Roy Teague

Episode Date: October 5, 2026

In this episode of Somewhere in the Skies, Ryan is joined by active UK police officer Inspector Roy Teague, author of Close Encounters of the Police Kind. Drawing on nearly 27 years in policing, Teagu...e has interviewed more than 300 current and former officers about their encounters with UFOs and other unexplained phenomena. His new book collects 75 of the most compelling cases, many told publicly for the first time. Teague takes us inside extraordinary reports involving police helicopters encountering mysterious craft over London, officers pursuing, and being pursued by UFOs, massive black triangles, missing time, alleged abductions, and even a possible implant discovered behind an officer’s eye. He also discusses the stigma officers still face when reporting UFOs, the lack of formal UAP reporting protocols within UK policing, patterns he has uncovered across decades of testimony, and why he believes these witnesses deserve to be heard. We explore Teague’s approach to investigating these accounts, what police training can bring to UFO testimony, and how compiling hundreds of reports has transformed his own view of the phenomenon. I will be your guide as we dive into the profound philosophical, theological, and public policy questions pertaining to the UFO phenomenon, alien life, in the citizen movement for disclosure. This is the full disclosure podcast, coming to you from the New Paradigm Institute on Spectrevision Radio. You've felt it, haven't you?
Starting point is 00:02:50 I felt that energy in the room shift a little bit. That chill. We were woken up by this howling. That shadow. And you would see this shadow just kind of creep out from, around the corner of the dining room. You're being watched. Six-na-foot-tall and skinny came from behind me.

Starting point is 00:04:26 that the possibility of life elsewhere is not only quite probable. Some feel that is there without a doubt. Let us suppose them that these objects are real space vehicles, extraterrestrial origin, and not an illusion of the mind. I'm Ryan Spratt, and you are now somewhere in the sky. Welcome to Summer in the Skies. I am your host, Ryan Sprague, and today we are joined by Inspector Roy Teague, who is a current UK police officer in the West Midlands. And we're going to be talking all about his brand new book, Close Encounters of the Police Kind, which covers over 250 police officer UFO reports throughout the decades. Roy has done an incredible job. of compiling all of these reports by past and current police officers all throughout the UK, everything from, you know, lights in the sky to black triangles, up to close encounters,
Starting point is 00:05:47 and possible even claimed alien abduction. So we really do run the gamut when it comes to these cases he's collected. We also talk about his own department in the West Midlands and how they would deal with a UFO report if it were to come to them. What his fellow officers think about the work he's doing when it comes to writing a book about UFOs and how the topic has changed in some ways when it comes to police officers and UFOs and how it has stayed the same throughout the years when it comes to stigma and ridicule. And we talk about, you know, all the drone incursions that happen. happened last year in the United States, in Europe, in the UK as well. And Roy had some interesting
Starting point is 00:06:39 stuff to say about that, too, some insider knowledge, if you will. So we really do tackle a lot in a short amount of time in this interview. And I was just so honored to have him on the show. I truly do think his book is going to make a huge impact, not just on the police community, but on the entire UFO community and everyone, everyone who's curious and has looked up into the sky and seen something that they cannot explain. And that goes for our police officers as well. But before we get to our interview with Roy Teague, I want to take just a moment to ask you guys to rate in review somewhere in the skies on Apple Podcasts and on Spotify. Every single rating in review helps us get bumped up. It gains visibility for the show.
Starting point is 00:07:30 show. It finds us new listeners. And yeah, it helps tremendously. So please take a few moments to do that, if you will. But this was an absolutely fascinating interview with Roy. What a gentleman. What a guy. And yeah, I cannot wait for you guys to check out his book, to check out his brand new YouTube channel, which you can find a link to in our show notes as well. And all about UFOs and what's going on in the UK when it comes to police. officers reporting these things. So without further ado, let's get to our interview with Inspector Roy Teague. Welcome to Somewhere in the Skies and a very warm welcome to first-time guest. Inspector Roy Teague is joining us today. Guys, he just came out with a brand new book,
Starting point is 00:08:24 Close Encounters of the Police Kind. He is an active police officer in the UK and has compiled a ton of UFO reports from all over the United Kingdom. And I have been waiting for this interview for a while. So, Roy, it's an honor to have you on someone this guys today, my friend. Thanks for having me on the show, Roy. And it's going to be a good one. Absolutely. Absolutely. You know, we've been talking off air about kind of the, the current landscape of the UFO topic, you know, especially in the United States where it's really kind of a big thing right now. It's gone mainstream. As you can hear, I am American, but I have lived in the UK for about four years now. And I have seen kind of the tides turning a little bit over here. And I think you're one of the people who's really been at the forefront of that with the reports that you compiled for you. So of course, before we talk about the book, talk about some UFO cases that police officers have reported.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Tell us about you, if you don't mind. What is your background? Tell us about your active police career. And yeah, give us a little snapshot of who Roy Teague is if you don't mind. Sure, no problem. So prior to the police, I served six years in the British Army. After the army, I then enlisted in the police. I started off in Surrey Police.
Starting point is 00:09:57 I did about four and a half years there. I transferred up to West Midlands Police on promotion, the rank of sergeant, and I've been at West Midlands Police ever since. It's the second largest police force in the United Kingdom. There's probably about eight and a half, nine thousand police officers and maybe three, three and a half thousand police staff. So it's a, it's a biggie. And I have been in the police now for 27 years. It will be December coming. My rank now is inspector. And I've been an inspector. for about eight years. When it comes to my ethos and policing, there are three things that are important to me. Number one, he's arresting proper criminals, and I mean proper criminals,
Starting point is 00:10:41 burglars, robbers, you know, the person who breaks into, you know, a workman's van and steals his tools and keeping good people safe in the beds at night. And thirdly, looking after the welfare of the police officers that I've got the high honor of supervising. So that's me in a nutshell. I like real policing, real crime, not paperwork, not pointless policing, sat behind a desk, shuffling paper clips. And I've been doing this for nearly 27 years. So that's my policing ethos in a nutshell there, right? Gotcha, gotcha. Well, that is quite a career. And like you said, you are still active. I mean, we've, we've had to, reschedule several times, both because of my schedule and you also are working. And how you find
Starting point is 00:11:33 the time, Roy, to have done what you've done in compiling these cases is incredible. It's been tough. I mean, I work 24-7 shifts, early shifts, late shifts, night shifts. And then I have to try and cram in, you know, interviews and writing up statements and all that type of thing on my days off. And the first day off, I've already worked seven hours into it because I'm coming off a night shift, then I want to have the sleep. But yeah, I've always like being a police officer since day one. Most of my service, I would suggest, 99% of it has been on either response or proactive teams or firearms operations units. So I'm not a kind of a behind-the-desk type guy. And I think that's one of the reasons why a lot of the officers have come forward and have felt,
Starting point is 00:12:22 comfortable talking to me. And that's because they're speaking to someone who has lived and breathed policing, real policing alongside of them. Yeah, I would imagine there is a camaraderie there. There is a trust, an inherent trust, you know, as well. So yeah, you're the right person for the job, man. And for every, I think, law enforcement officer, fire officer, or military individual that comes forward in the topic of UFOs to say, I have seen something. It only bolsters the credibility. These are the people that we look to for many different things. And one of those things is being a trained observer, being analytical, being the ones who these things ultimately sometimes get reported to.
Starting point is 00:13:13 So, yeah, I would imagine that it was both probably a challenge, but also. it makes sense to me that you would be the one they would come to. So let's get to that. Let's fast forward to the book, Close Encounters of the Police Kind. What is the origin story of that? What was your interest in this topic before you decided to write the book? And what made you want to write the book? I've always believed, Ryan, that there's something out there that we can't quite see something just beyond the veil.
Starting point is 00:13:48 I've always been interested in UAP accounts, you know, paranormal stories, cryptid stories, anything in relation to the unexplained. And I've always had a close on it since I've been a young, you know, child. But I remained skeptical. I was kind of sat on the fence with it. And where I really got involved was in 2016, I came home from a late shift and I stumbled across a documentary that was on the TV called UFOs and nukes by Robert Hastings. And it was a documentary about how lights and craft had been seen above American military bases. And then the missiles within those bases had become inoperable. And those missiles were ICBMs, intercontinental ballistic missiles, nuclear missiles that have been turned off and rendered useless. I mean, what a story that is.
Starting point is 00:14:35 So the witnesses on those documentaries, I found really compelling. They have no reason to lie. everything to lose and nothing to gain whatsoever by coming forward. And I thought, well, who else make good witnesses? Great witnesses, in fact, for UAP encounters. And I thought, well, surely by virtue of the training, the police would be right up there. So for that reason, and because I was serving in the police at the time, as I am now,
Starting point is 00:15:05 I didn't appeal via local media, then national media, We've got in some magazines and I appealed for police officers nationwide to contact me in regards to any UFO sightings that they had, that had been privy to. And I'll repeat about five years. I've got about 250 police officers contact me. And what I did was I took the best 75 of those sightings, the most sort of perplexing and dramatic, thought-provoking ones. And I put them into the book, Close Encounters of the Police Kind. Now, the title, obviously, is a play on the very famous Spielberg film Close Encounters of the Third Kind. And the reason I did that is I wanted people to understand from the title what the book was probably going to be about before they even looked at the cover. And I think I achieved that.
Starting point is 00:15:56 So, yeah, to the 75 best sightings, I would suggest in the last two months, because I've appeared on a number of podcasts and interviews, the number of officers I've spoken to now is over 300. and these are sworn, you know, sermons to the crown, God is a law and order, if you will, who are telling me that they've seen something in the sky, they can't quite explain. They're not all saying that these craft are built by non-human hands, but what they are saying is they couldn't explain it, and a lot of them are seen because of what the craft did
Starting point is 00:16:30 and how it performed, that they believe they have seen something built by non-human hands, and I've got several officers saying that they believe they've been abducted, which is massive, serving police officers saying they've been abducted by non-human tech, missing time, UFO cones, up close and personal. So I've had a real ride and a real blast doing this, and I'd like to thank the officers for coming forward and speaking to me about this. I see myself, Ryan, as a conduit for them to get their stories out into the public eye.
Starting point is 00:17:05 And it's been a great ride doing it, and I'm going to keep pushing forward with it. That's awesome, man. And again, I think, you know, for every person that comes forward, I always tell people, it has a ripple effect. That will empower more officers to come forward, more civilians and even more military people, too. I mean, the dam has broken, I think, on this topic. So I think that's vital, that's essential. And it adds to the data moving forward, for sure. Now, you mentioned kind of the spectrum, I guess, of some of these reports, everything from
Starting point is 00:17:41 lights in the sky to solid craft up to possible, you know, close encounters and abductions. And I found that fascinating, like you said, that some of these were active police officers when these events happened or still are and decided to come forward. Let's, I guess, you know, you have the book broken down sort of chronologically cases. spanning back to like the 60s all the way up to the mid-2000s, which is incredible as well. But what are some of those cases? Let's start with maybe, I guess, the UFO sightings before we move to, you know, the more, I guess, controversial cases that you might have collated yourself. But yeah, do any really stand out to you that you'd like to share with us that have to do with solid objects
Starting point is 00:18:35 in the sky or, you know, the dramatic sightings. What sticks out to you as some of the greatest things? I really like because they're so rare. I mean, abductions reports and police officers are rare. I've had four of those. And although they're rare, you know, I've always had a thing for police helicopter sightings where, you know, officers have been on board those, you know, police helicopters and they've seen UAP. So I've got a fair few of those. And I've, uh, I've got a fair few of those. And You know, there's really quite a few intriguing ones. I've got one where, you know, two officers, so we've got corroborating evidence above London in 1997, PC Frampton,
Starting point is 00:19:16 and a warrant officer, sorry, P.C. Paul Hammond and a warrant officer first class from the British Army, David Frampton, they were on board the helicopter, and as it's up in the air above London, we're near the MI6 building and Parliament, and Downing Street in Buckingham Palace, which is a strict no-fly zone, where you can't be for reasons of national security. They encounter a UAP craft that they sees metallic in structure. It's great. It's about 40, 50 foot long, and it's the shape of like a paper dart you might make in school as a kid.
Starting point is 00:19:46 They've circled this craft. They've gone onto Heathrow and Gatwick, who confirmed that there's nothing on radar, that they don't know anything that should be up there. So, of course, they're thinking, well, what the hell is this? We can see it. They look at it through the Fleur camera, the forward looking in for red camera, at which point through that camera they can see the back of it heats up and the rear of it then it turns into like on itself on a 90 degree angle
Starting point is 00:20:11 and then this is the crazy bit right and it shoots forward you know 50 60 meters in the sky and it goes into a hole that's appeared in the sky and the hole then appears to close up and zip up behind it and this thing's gone so you can imagine the discussion on the helicopter all the way back to Lipitz Hill about what they're going to say or if they are going to say anything and they decide not to. And the reason to decide not to, Ryan, is because 18 years before in the same London airspace, PC William Humphrey Bishop was also on a police helicopter
Starting point is 00:20:42 and they were engaged in an aerial pursuit of two barrel-shaped UFOs. And PC Bishop, when he was writing the report for that, was told by his superintendent to lie and not put the words UFO and he was to put either a drone or a kite. And he ended up being forced, to life, I wanted a better word. Now he, and this occurred in 1979, was ridiculed for 18 years, right, because of that. So of course, Paul Hammond in 97, he's thinking, do I want to be ridiculed for the next 18 years of my career? Well, the answer is no. And for that reason, he and the pilot
Starting point is 00:21:19 and the warrant officer never reported it and remained silent. So it's great cases like that that with corroborating evidence from genuine police witnesses that are really, really intriguing to me and that is one of hundreds. And I've got other helicopter sightings. I've had another siting where someone's got hold of me and said,
Starting point is 00:21:44 I know about from your book the sighting with the two officers on the helicopter over London where a UAP's been seen flying into a hole in the hole closing up and what he's telling me is on the island of Escanar Sorry, the island of Ibiza, and there's a place there called Escanar. He has seen the opposite where there's a tear in the sky,
Starting point is 00:22:02 and the tear in the sky is actually moving forward towards the beach, albeit it's about quarter of a half a mile out to sea, and it's moving at a certain speed, at which point a triangular craft shoots out of it at a couple of thousand miles an hour. And then the hole closes up behind it, and it zips off into the sky, and they've got about a three or four second look at it. So absolutely convinced it was a triangular craft. He's drawn a sketch of it.
Starting point is 00:22:25 it's really intriguing so these cases really perplexing um you know when you get them i think oh this is brilliant especially the ones that have never been told before and i didn't want to do rendlesham the berwin mountains rosswell i didn't want to do the old although they're really really intriguing and brilliant sightings i did not want to rehash old stuff that you could pick up one of 50 books and read about i wanted new material new witnesses corroborating testimony times dates i wanted the witnesses names because i was tired of reading books and reports where it said an officer or an unnamed person and it becomes a wife's tale. Well, I want the source. I want the source. I want the names and I want the corroborating
Starting point is 00:23:06 evidence and that's what I bring to the party. Absolutely. Roy. And I love that. You know, when I wrote, I wrote a book a few years ago that were UFO accounts and I made it very clear to the witnesses, your name has to be in here. These are not going to be anonymous reports. Like if, If you want to be, if you want your story out there in the book, you got to own up to it. And every single one of them said yes. And I commend them. I commend whether civilian or, you know, military police officers. It takes a lot to do that.
Starting point is 00:23:40 And I do want to touch on, you know, the stigma, the ridicule with you a little bit later. But those helicopter cases are fascinating. Another, I guess, kind of theme I found in the book where several cases where you have, had officers pursuing these objects, like literally chasing them. Are there any of those that kind of stand out to you right now where they actually went after something that had been reported or the officers themselves were witnessing it, like a UFO chase of any kind?
Starting point is 00:24:17 There's a few, but these things are so quick, the chase is over in mere seconds, because this is a technology way above than what we possess. Another helicopter one where it was an almost pursuit, but this craft was so quick, I think it was 2006, and you've got PCE and Stephen on board, a helicopter, police helicopter in Wales. They're just coming into land at the police base.
Starting point is 00:24:43 And now he's sat in the front passenger seat next to the pilot, and they have a very expensive camera on board. You've all seen them on the bottom of these police helicopters. and they're like a circular gimbal that turns around. Very expensive is hardware. And as they're coming into land, the policy is that he presses a button and it stows the camera. So it turns the camera upside down.
Starting point is 00:25:06 So the lens is facing up towards the fuselage. And the reason that happens is because if there's any contact with the ground as the helicopter's landing or an accident, the camera's protected because the delicate parts are on the front of the lens. So the camera's just being stowed. And there's the just coming in. the pilot and PC Ian Steven, they both see a huge triangular UAP craft above some hills
Starting point is 00:25:31 in a place called Keffern Mabley in South Wales. And he said to me, you could see because of where it was in relation to the mountains directly above that from tip to tip to tip to tip, because it's triangle, it was one mile from each tip. It's absolutely huge. And he's then said, shall we go after it?
Starting point is 00:25:54 And the pilot, just as he's finishing it, gets the helicopter controls, and he starts to fly towards it, at which point cop mode kicks in. So PC Ian Steven unstows the camera, but just as it's coming around, this thing disappears right in front of their eyes. They're scanning the sky for it, and they're picking up about two or three seconds later above near the seven bridge, which is 19 miles away. So it's either one or two things. it's either this craft has gone because it was 90 miles away,
Starting point is 00:26:24 it's done 90 miles in three seconds, then slowed on a dime, and then he's slowly flying away. And they knew it was the same craft or type of craft because it had a green glitter type effect on the top. You know, like you'd look out your window and see, you know, the speckles on the, on frost, you know, on a winter morning. It was like that.
Starting point is 00:26:42 Or the craft they saw disappeared, and there just happened to be a second one, 19 miles away. Who can say? So that was an almost pursuit. There's a one with William Humphrey Bishop before. I can tell you about the role reverse where a UFO was pursued a police car in 19, I think it was 709. And on board that was PC David Flanagan. It would go down the A19.
Starting point is 00:27:07 It's a dual carriageway, which is basically two lanes of traffic with a barrier and then two opposing lanes of traffic. And they can see it's about two in the morning, a glow coming over one of the embankments. And they assumed one of the cornfields was on fire. they thought, well, we'll get off at the next junction, we'll have a look. And as they're just about to get off the dual carriageway at the next off ramp, this huge red glowing sphere comes over the embankment onto the opposite side of the carriageway. And they're thinking, what the hell's that? He said it was like there were two objects within it,
Starting point is 00:27:38 the size of double-decker buses spinning around, but within a sphere, really hot. And they've just literally carried on down the dual carriageway. and this thing has then chased them town the dual carriageway, but keeping pace with them on the opposite side of the carriageway. If they slow down, it would slow down. If they sped up, it would speed up. And it was really hot in the car because of the temperature of this UAP craft. And after about three miles,
Starting point is 00:28:03 and they've not been able to use the radio in the meantime in the car or the personal radios that they've got on them, they've got off at the next off ramp. And they've then parked up, jumped out the car, but they then can't see this craft. They then hear a noise 30 or so seconds later, and they see this spear above the cops of trees that then shoots towards the police car,
Starting point is 00:28:23 just misses the lights and goes off at a right angle down the A-1. And of course, only when it's gone a certain distance from the police car, can they use the radios? They call it in. And the inspector back in the control room said, you know, I think you need to sleep it off. Basically accusing them on the air of being drunk. Yeah, typical inspector not believing the PC's, eh?
Starting point is 00:28:44 However, the last laugh was on the inspector because a load of reports then came in from other forces all up into Police Scotland describing the same craft or at least reporting that members of public have reported the same type of craft. And he was interviewed the next day by the RAF staff and he's put down to, you know, unknown, unsolved, that type of thing. So not a police chase, but are you AP chasing the police? Right. Wow, that is alarming for sure. That's an incredible case. Yeah, really nice guy, BC David Flanagan. Yeah, right. And we should stress that too. Like, these are a lot of these reports.
Starting point is 00:29:26 You have actually spoken to these individuals. This isn't just you, you know, finding a case somewhere online and being like, oh, that'll be good for the book. Like, these are people who have actually reached out to you or you've reached out to them, right? Yeah, so I've interviewed them all. Of the 300 now, I've interviewed, I think there's about 12 that have elected to go anonymous. So as a percentage factor, I think that's pretty good. I do note that most of the ones that are going anonymous are usually serving because they're afraid that if they come out of the UAP closet and say what they've seen, it will affect the careers. And I think they're probably right in that assumption on the basis that if you're going,
Starting point is 00:30:15 if we're trying to get onto like a firearms department, which in the United Kingdom is only less than 4% of officers carry a firearm in the United Kingdom. So to get on those units is very difficult. There's a very arduous selection process. And can you imagine if you're trying to get on there and the staff and the department know that you're saying that you've been involved in a reduction or you've seen a UAP, a great, encounter, they're going to think, oh, this guy's probably mad. And wouldn't you know it, you didn't make the grade on this occasion, because they just won't take the chance. Or if you want to go into like a homicide department, you're going to investigate murder cases, then you're going to go to court and the defence might say, oh, aren't you the officer that
Starting point is 00:30:56 sees UFOs behind every cloud, aren't you this, aren't you that? So it does affect your career and unfortunately to its detriment. And that, Ryan, that is why people in the police remain quiet about UAP sightings, especially some of the more dramatic ones. It's not like the United States over here. It's a taboo subject. We don't talk about it. My hope is, because the saying is, when America sneezes, the UK catches a cold because we always have a little bit of a step behind you.
Starting point is 00:31:27 And I'm hoping that because of the disclosure you've had in the United States, under the Trump administration, these brilliant videos released from the Pentagon and the Department of Defense, So I am hoping we catch the UAP cold at some point in the very, very near future. But it's a bit like Fight Club, the UAP question in the UK. The first thing about, you know, Fight Club and the UAP phenomenon is you don't talk about it. And the second rule about the about the fight club, the UAP phenomenon, is you don't talk about it. Nobody talked about it. So I'm really swimming against the current here trying to get this out.
Starting point is 00:32:00 And you're absolutely right, because I've got these officers coming forward, that really bolsters, it really bolsters the case that something quite extraordinary is happening above the skies of the United Kingdom and the rest of the world. I know it's happening, mate. You know it's happening. Everybody who's watching this knows it's happening. We've just got to be strong. And despite the risk to ourselves careers, we've got to come out and we have to talk about it
Starting point is 00:32:28 because if we don't, it'll go nowhere. Amen, amen, man. Yes, yes. There's so many risks when it comes to coming forward with these. But like you said, some of the more dramatic ones. I do want to get to some of those as well, Roy, in terms of, you know, you covered the Allen Godfrey case, which is one of my favorites as well. But you mentioned, you know, this is why people are starting to come forward and why they trusted you to do that. What about within your own department?
Starting point is 00:33:03 Now, have there ever been UFOs reported to anyone within your own department? Have any of your fellow officers there ever come forward to been like, hey, Roy, I'm going to be up front with you. I've seen something. You know, we had a call one night. Has anything like that ever happened within your own department? Yeah, a couple of times. And, of course, you know, the friends out straight away and I'm like, tell me everything. And they'll say, okay.
Starting point is 00:33:33 And most of them have gone on the record. I'm doing it wrong, there's not an abundance of them on my own personal department, because otherwise it's going to end up being a book about just people I know, UFO sort of sightings. So I'll offer a mixed bag from up from Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, England, all over the United Kingdom over a wide spectrum of times.
Starting point is 00:33:53 The first site, and I interviewed somebody about it was 1964, and the last one was this year 2006. But I have had a couple on the department that I work on, Because you've got the team you work on, then you've got the wider department, and then you've got the Westminster Police, the forces it's whole. I've had several. The funniest thing I ever had is when I got a phone call from quite a senior officer, and he said, can you come and talk to me about this book that you're working on?
Starting point is 00:34:19 And I thought, oh, here we go. And because I've known him a while, so I went in and I said, right, what's, you know, and I thought he was going to say someone's, you know, asked me to, you know, talk to you about it and can you not maybe do it? because I have been asked to write about another subject because it's uncomfortable for the police and then worry about the operational, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:38 and the organisational reputation to the police. But this guy then said, I saw something and I want to get it off my chest. And I was quite relieved, really. So then he proceeds to tell me quite an interesting story about a UAP crafted scene, hovering over Birmingham Airport, which clearly, again, is a no-flight zone.
Starting point is 00:34:57 So, yeah, I've had several people that I know personally tell me that they've seen UAP craft and they are serving police officers. But as I say, I'll stress that the majority of sightings of people I've never met and I don't know. And then to further confirm when I interview people, these are my interviews, where they've even sought me out. I'd say most people have emailed me. I have chased a few people down and located them. It has to be said. And I'm so glad I have.
Starting point is 00:35:24 But when you interview someone, you know, I'll work on the ABC principles, Ryan, accept nothing, believe no one and check everything. everything. There's a gold silver and a bronze standard of interview. So gold is in person. Silver is like we are now. We're talking, you know, over the internet. And those two are very important gold and silver because when you see someone's face, that is important when you do an interview because of the NBC's nonverbal communication. So you can, you can detect if there's an element of dishonesty, you know, won't they look you in the eye, the shuffling the feet, messing with the fingers and how do you, and you get a good feel for someone when you, you know, when you can see the face. And then the bronze standard is, when you interview somebody over the phone. But yeah, it's difficult trying to interview all these people and fit them in. And I've probably got, I've taken probably in the last week, probably another 15 cases from police officers. And I need to write them all up before I get another 15. And I get bogged down.
Starting point is 00:36:20 And I forget who's seen what. But it's a work in progress, buddy. That's exciting. The book is obviously having an impact that that, that many people, you know, within the span of since the book has come out, have reached out. That's very, very. July 2nd, so July 2nd, so I've had a ton. Wow.
Starting point is 00:36:41 A ton of people. But I've had some good exposure from it for, you know, some great people, people like yourself. You know, the Russ Cool Tard show really, really did help me out. And some of the podcasts, you know, really, really did help me out. So by getting the name out there and the book. Yeah, I dig him wrong, it's nice, but the most important thing, it isn't me, it isn't the book, the most important thing is the subject matter and the witnesses. They're the most important. Starting point is 00:38:21 And thank you for supporting independent content. And I hope you'll continue to join me. somewhere in the skies. Okay, let's move to some of the more controversial cases. Like I said, you covered, you mentioned abductions. I know there was one case where someone claimed that they might have had like some sort of implant that they found on their body possibly. I mean, like we said, these do really run the gamut. So what were some of those cases that were more on the dramatic side that you were like,
Starting point is 00:38:59 okay, this is not just flights in the sky anymore. Yeah, I mean, I've got several, but the one you're referring to, so that guy did go anonymous because he said he would be embarrassed. And a lot of his friends don't know and he just doesn't want anyone to know, but he's got nothing to gain and everything to lose by coming forward. Now, I've given him a pseudonym name of Officer F. So if somebody goes anonymous, I'll give them a letter like you would at court, you know, like, you know, witness A or B.
Starting point is 00:39:29 so I just call them Officer A, B, C, D, right up until F. So Officer F, he was a Grampian police officer, which lately became Police Scotland, and it was about 1, 2 in the morning, in his outside Arboyne police station, and he's with a colleague, and the call comes over the radio in the car, saying, you know, there's a report of an object in the sky
Starting point is 00:39:52 coming towards our, um, our boy in from the east, from the direction of Aberdeen. Can you tell us if you can see anything? So he says, yeah, no problem. So they're looking up in the sky. They don't see anything, but what they do see is what they describe as a rolling power coming towards them where all the streetlights are going off. And what house lights are on at one and two in the morning are also going off.
Starting point is 00:40:12 It's like a blanket of blackness slowly coming towards them. Then this streetlight goes off nearest their police car. The police card that's turning over because the engine running goes dead. And at that point, they both look up and see flying over the heads, a matte black, large triangle, no markings, no markings, no, signs of proportion and it's in complete silence. And you can see the actual body of the craft. And about 50, 60 foot up in the air. So this thing flies off to the west towards a town called Balatar. And eventually it's lost the blackness of the sky because the triangle's black. But they
Starting point is 00:40:43 know where the object is because they can continue to see the street lights and the houses going off over in the west. So that's why they know where it is. And then as the craft is off to the west, the lights in the east start to come back on. And eventually the light comes up. on nearest the police car, the lights on the dashboard, then come back on so they know the car's going to work again. He then gets back in the car, gets the microphone in the car, the handset, and he says, you don't know what I believe this, whatever that thing is, it's just flown over our heads. And this is the important part. He said to me, it had only been like 45 seconds a minute at the very most when we'd had that conversation on the radio, that's himself
Starting point is 00:41:21 the dispatcher. And the dispatcher then said to him, where the hell have you been? We've been trying to hold you for 30 minutes. So he, he, he, he doesn't remember being taken or anything like that. So perhaps maybe time moves slower or quicker in, you know, in a close proximity to whatever these objects are. And I've got another case that might tend to give that credence. Anyo, sticking with this one, it was never explained. And he's had headaches since then. A bear mind that was 89. Well, we're now in 2006. So in 2005, he's gone and had an MRI on his head. And behind the or next to his right eye is some sort of metallic, um, oblong type object.
Starting point is 00:42:08 They won't remove it because the concern about the damage you might do to the eye. And he's not willing to harm him. So it's been left there. And he then said to his sister, because he's got a very small scar by his right eye. And he thought, well, I know what this might be. And he said to his sister, do you remember when we had, when we were kids, they were throwing lumps of coal at each other messing around, and one of those lumps of coal thrown by his sister hit him in the side of the head.
Starting point is 00:42:32 And he always assumed that's what the scar was caused, you know, is what caused the scar. And he thought to himself, well, maybe the doctor's wrong, and a bit of the coal broke off when in the cut, and that has worked its way, you know, down behind my eye. So he said to his sister, hey, do you remember that lump of cry you throw through at me? And, well, it might be, there's a piece behind my eye. And his sister said, what are you talking about? we never had a coal fight or what you're referring to.
Starting point is 00:42:56 And he said, well, we've spoken about this hundreds of times over the years. It's been a bit of a family joke. And she said, I don't know what you're talking about. We've never spoken about a coal fight. And she's adamant. The family are adamant. No one remembers it but him. So he believes the memory of the coal fight and the subsequent memories of talking about the
Starting point is 00:43:13 coal fight with his sister may have been implanted in him as a way of him to make him not question the scar on the side of his head. and that's possibly an implant behind his right eye. And when you start thinking about things like that, that can unlock other memories. And he remembers as a kid tons of times where he'd wake up all throughout his life, even as much as last year, where he'd wake up and surrounding him
Starting point is 00:43:40 would be small, four, you know, three or four foot tall beings that he couldn't quite look at because he was paralyzed on his bed or a table. So with the craft that was seen, the possible implant behind the eye, false memories, remembering these people around his bed. If you add all those things together, I think it points to something unnatural and a possible abduction case.
Starting point is 00:44:01 I don't know, I'm not saying he was abducted on the night in question by our boy, but I think there's a good chance based on everything else he said that at some point, he certainly, he certainly has been. Wouldn't it be great if we could get that whatever it is from behind his right eye? That would be said that. It would. You know, there's been so many instances where people have claimed these implants. Yeah, you can see them.
Starting point is 00:44:23 You can see them through the skin, but there is, you know, a lot of risk with removing things like that. And then you have famous cases where, you know, I'm thinking of Whitley Streber in the U.S., you know, the famous communion book and all that. When they tried to remove an implant of his, the thing physically started moving inside his body, which just gave me the chills, Roy. So, yeah, I'm with you. It would be something if we could analyze those. for sure but like you said who knows what could happen man that that's a crazy case are there uh yeah well i can put on the back end of that so remember i mentioned about time of slower or quicker the proximity to these objects so um i've got another officer um and when she was eight years old
Starting point is 00:45:14 this would have been in 19 i think it was 1978 um she and a mom see an egg-shaped object flying over their house. So they run into the back garden to look at it, and this thing has stopped, and it's hovering above their house. But, you know, only, probably 50, 60 foot up in the air. It's quite large. The colour of tin foil, she describes it, but with no rivets or markings on it,
Starting point is 00:45:40 it was just the colour of foil. And whilst they're staring at it, she said they then couldn't hear any birds or traffic or noise. and from looking at Google Earth where they reside, it's a main arterial route. You would have heard stuff. And it was like she was in a bubble and the sound of life had been turned off,
Starting point is 00:46:02 but they were conscious looking up at this thing. At which point this thing's disappeared. And they've then looked around and they've seen about half a mile away, so they've run to the back fence to look over. They can still see it in the sky. And then it's blinked out of existence again. Then it's another half a mile away.
Starting point is 00:46:16 And it seems to be, I mean, I call it the UAP, flee because it's there, then it's there. So it's not going to it's just one, two, you know, that type of thing, every 30 seconds. So something never sat right with her about it. She'd had a couple of unusual experiences
Starting point is 00:46:35 since. Nothing too dramatic. But she then went in 2003 at the very end of that year. And I know this because I have the video footage So she went and underwent regression. Very compelling.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Very compelling footage. So what she remembers from the regression is, whilst looking at this craft with a mom, she sees a blue-y-top grey person, but with huge eyes at the side of the house. And from the angle she was, she could see it. And she's gone up to it. She said this thing was quite tall.
Starting point is 00:47:19 But then she said, but in actual fact, it wasn't. It was just the case. She was seven years old. So everybody's tall to a seven year old. So this thing's probably about four foot, five foot high the most. The next thing is she remembers she was on an object and she said it was clearly that egg-shaped craft because she could see through the walls. And she could see a mom in the garden looking up at the craft. But going back to time moving quicker or slower, this is the kicker.
Starting point is 00:47:44 Her mom was looking up at the craft, but wasn't moving at all. So it was like there were within a time bubble looking out. So they're in a, no time's normal for them, but everything outside is just completely stationary and steady. So I think when she was in the bubble before looking up and she couldn't hear anything, they're in that everything's frozen bit, although they don't know it because they're in that time period right next to each other. But on the ship, it's a different, I don't know, maybe it moves slower on the ship or whatever. But of course, when she's on the ship, she's then in that protective bubble looking out at everything that's then moving, either frozen or moving incredibly slow. So that's, I mentioned that going back to what Officer F said about perhaps things move slower or quicker near these things.
Starting point is 00:48:35 So that's a really good example with that officer on board a craft. Doesn't remember much of what happened, just remembers the inside of it were white, remembers there were some other creatures inside, like darker coloured entities, for want of a better word. And the next thing she remembers is being back in the going with a mom and then looking for the ship again and then running to the back garden. So the bit about being on the craft has obviously been taken from her up until the point she went and got regressed.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Another really perplexing and interesting account from her, a police officer. Interesting. I want to stay on that regression thing for a moment, Roy. Now, in your experience, you know, this can often be used
Starting point is 00:49:28 to retrieve memories, whether it's some sort of trauma or lost memories. What do you personally think of this approach to trying to retrieve memories of UFO, missing time, abduction experiences? Is this something
Starting point is 00:49:44 you buy into that these are actual memories or are they being led? Like what do you think? So from the from the footage I saw, it's like an interview with the police. You don't, it's not supposed to ask leading questions like for example, I wouldn't expect somebody who was the professional person leading the regression. I would not expect them to say. So then you saw a UFO. Is that right? Because you're leading the witness. It should be things like, what did you see? describe it or you know open-ended questions who what why when how describe tell me so i do buy into it for once of a very expression that you've just said but it all depends on the credibility and the way in which the person doing the regression interview it all depends how they
Starting point is 00:50:36 conduct themselves and how good they are um so i do buy into it and of course you've got to have honesty from the person conducting the interview and the person being interviewed, because there are people out there who will say, they might say anything for their 15 minutes. And I've got to be very conscious of that. So, but I'm not, I can interview. I've never tried to regress anyone. But what I do know, Ryan, right, is that if I, if I try and think about something, and I, like back on the so far, I might not remember anything about an incident at work or I'm thinking about something that happened a couple of years ago. But if I sit back and think about it, within 10 minutes, I'll think, I forgot about that bit. And I'm not being regressed by a professional. That's just
Starting point is 00:51:23 me lying back and thinking about it. So if you've got to train professional who's an expert at probing those corners of your mind in such a way that they can entice little snippets out of there and those little snippets then about other memories, I think there is something to be said for it. But you're relying on the honesty of the assessor, to be completely impartial, not ask leading questions. And then you rely on also on the honesty of the person being regressed, lying back on the couch. Yeah, really good point. There's a lot of reliability.
Starting point is 00:51:55 I mean, I hope and trust my pilot knows how to fly a plane when I take a flight, right? I mean, you got it. There needs to be that inherent trust and that they are the experts. So I would tend to agree with you on that for sure. Now, I mean, Roy, there's endless cases. we could talk about. I want people to read the book for sure. But I guess in terms of the stories you collected, were there any patterns that you found within this,
Starting point is 00:52:25 whether it's the shape of the craft, the aftermath of the experience, or any solid patterns you found, or was it kind of just all over the place? A lot of black triangles, I noticed. Yeah, I feel that the UAP, craft, the majority of the descriptions of the craft has changed over the years. So in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and up into the 80s, a lot of the times it was a classic UFO flying saucer type craft that were described modern day times. A lot of them are black triangle craft. So we've had that sort of evolvement of the shape of the craft. I think a lot of the back triangle craft
Starting point is 00:53:03 that we see these days are military craft being tested. And I understand why they're never going to admit that because every country has a right and a national security to keep their secrets and and and develop craft to keep us one step ahead of our rivals. I totally get that. But, you know, it's started off of sources, it's now sort of, and we still get them, but a lot of times it's, it's these triangular craft, but in between them, you've got cigar-shaped craft, you've got spheres, you've got sort of jellyfish type craft. You have all sorts, you've got boomerang craft. I believe, um, personally, that much like we, we build different planes for different things we have fighter jets for fighting wars and commercial jets for taking people to and from
Starting point is 00:53:45 holiday and craft that dust crops and all sorts of stuff and so different planes have got different purposes and i believe that these uap craft a lot of times are different because just like us they have different craft for different purposes so some could be probes some are you know might be have no one on board but land and take samples um some probably have um you know extraterrestrial biological entities on board of these craft, they're probably the larger ones. And I think that's why they're different, different UAP craft for different things. And also, who's to say, whether we're dealing with one UAP race or, you know, one non-human intelligent race, or we're dealing with several, we don't know, because we've had graze, there's reptilian, all these different ones people,
Starting point is 00:54:31 people have seen. And maybe those civilizations just have developed in a different way and build their craft in different ways to each other. I can only book guess. What I will stress, Ryan, is I don't have all the answers. I absolutely don't profess to be an expert. I just happen to be a serving police officer who's interviewed tons of other police officers, but I am learning and grown with it. And my goal is to get these sightings out there.
Starting point is 00:54:56 And my opinions are my own about, like I say, about the craft and different purposes. But I think it's as good a hypothesis as any other. Yeah, very good point. Well, I mean, learning and growing. That's a good, I think, transition here, right now when I spoke to a former NYPD officer from Manhattan, Keith Taylor, and I told him I was having him on the show, and he was very excited to hear that a fellow officer, you know, was taking this topic seriously and really putting the other officers in a good light when it comes to reporting these things. But with him in the states, he's attempting to create kind of this like, I guess, protocol or field manual for officers in the U.S. and how to deal with these reports when they come in. Now, let's say someone, you know, called up your department and said, hey, there's a, there's a flying saucer over my farm right now. Like, what do I do? Is there any type of protocol for something that, you know, out there when it comes to at least your local department or the UK overall, I guess?
Starting point is 00:56:13 Like, how would they deal with something if it were to get reported in real time? The answer is it depends. So there's no protocol. There used to be a protocol whereby there'd be a daily occurrence book and the details would be filled in before the electronic age. Everything's on a laptop now and computers, but it would be filled in. A phone call would be made to the Royal Air Force, and they would do with that report whatever it is they wanted to do with it. They'd either bin it there and then or then investigate it further. We don't do that anymore.
Starting point is 00:56:41 We, the police, will just think, is it a police matter? It's a simple question, yes or no. And if the answer's no, well, we'll just close the electronic log off and we'll move on to something that we believe is a police matter. So, for example, the three things the police do, you know, and that's preserve life and protect property, preventing detect crime, and preserve and maintain the king's peace. Anything outside of that, that's for another agency or somebody else. So when somebody says, oh, there's a flying surcer above my barn, like you've said, will we send anybody out?
Starting point is 00:57:15 I would suggest probably not. However, however, however, it depends. If somebody was to say there is a flying saucer above a school, you know, and it was three-thirds, and all the kids were leaving, and the parents were there, we'd probably go to that because there was a, you know, a concern for safety. We wouldn't all, I think, oh, it's a UFO from Venus, but we might think it is a craft of some kind or a big drone and is it putting the kids in danger, so we might go to that.
Starting point is 00:57:40 If somebody says there's a, you know, it's three in the morning and there's a UFO above a barn or some woods in the middle of nowhere, we perhaps wouldn't go because it is not a police matter. So I admire what your colleague is trying to do. your friend and bring a sort of a protocol forward in the United States in regards to police and UIPMAT has been reported, but I don't see it happening any time soon in the United Kingdom. And if it did, and if there was someone leading on it, I would, I sure as I'd like to be that person, but I just don't see it happening.
Starting point is 00:58:12 I think you'd be perfect for that, man, obvious, for obvious reasons. But yeah, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. You know, I'm thinking of it now in terms of the U.S. in the UK, we had that crazy like incursion thing happening in New Jersey, in England, in Germany.
Starting point is 00:58:37 Was that last year when all the drone stuff was happening? It's about 18 months ago. I have some knowledge of that. Oh, please, if there's anything you're willing to share, yeah. What was that all about? So, isn't it, as quick as it came, it disappeared,
Starting point is 00:58:53 didn't it, within a couple of three of the time? So I know, I'll just say a well-placed source within a police force, who was involved in dealing with the RAF about these incursions, that the Americans were told off a few times because they kept shooting at these things. So as much as it's an American air base, you're on our, you know, it is British soil. and they were shooting rifles, small arms, shotguns, there's no missiles involved or anything like that. No one's fired any sidewinders, but you've got ground troops and you've got a shooting at these things. They did try to use some sort of EMP weapon on one of the bigger ones.
Starting point is 00:59:43 And what I can tell you is that none of these weapons had any effect whatsoever. Then there was the famous engagement where quite a large drone was seen, and I think it might have been, I think Gloucester Police sent the head. helicopter up. And as this helicopter was approaching one of these big drones, maybe like half a mile away, I know the smaller ones turned up and didn't aggressively fry towards the police helicopter, but they were getting close. And the pilot said if one of these things touched our rotor blades were done for. So the decision was made to do a 180 degree turn and they came back to base. Now, that is a matter of public record. You can go and you can look that up on Google. And if you go on to
Starting point is 01:00:24 flight radar and I think it's ASDB, the other flight app, you can see the point at which the helicopter turns around. But the briefings that the officer was privy to, they were telling the officers that they thought it was some sort of device from Russia or China and it was being used as a cachet device to basically steal intelligence from people's mobile phones. That's why they were seen around things like GCHQ and military buildings. But who is to say whether that was a smoke, because that's an easy thing to sell compared to it's a drone from non-human intelligence and we don't know what they are. But I know nothing brought them down. And then I know Trump said, oh, they're out. was forget about it. And the next thing is, everything's gone. Nobody talks about it.
Starting point is 01:01:23 It was almost like a D-notice. So a D-Notice in the UK is something that the government serve on the papers to say you can't talk about this anymore. It was almost like a D-notice that occurred, but the trouble is if a denotice is served, you never know. And then it was never spoken about in the United States. It only continues periodically to be spoken about by people like yourself and myself, another researcher. It came and it came, it went really quick. We don't know what they are. Was it non-human intelligence? Was it were the Russians, were the Chinese objects? For me, the jury's out and I'm still on the fence with it. Yeah, such a good point, though. It really did come and go. I mean, it just dawned on me as you were talking there. So,
Starting point is 01:02:02 yeah, whatever that was, let's hope it doesn't happen again, for sure. These things have the aerodynamics of a house brick. So a lot of them describe this like the size of a fridge freezer, but there's no scenes of propulsion. There's no nothing. There's no markings, rivets. Really, really bizarre. So we have either invented something or the Russians or Chinese are that nobody else knows about.
Starting point is 01:02:29 Or it was non-human tech. I couldn't hazard a guess at this point. Yeah. Yeah. Good point. Well, I guess to kind of start wrapping things up, Roy, what did you learn? in writing this book and compiling these cases.
Starting point is 01:02:47 And like you said, they're coming in every day to you now. I'm sure you'll have a volume two ready to go in less than a year at this point. But has this changed your personal beliefs or thoughts on this topic? I mean, like I say, I've always thought there was something else out there, but I was a bit skeptical sat on the fence. But I've gone from being skeptical to sitting on the fence to no believe and beyond all reasonable doubt. There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that non-human intelligence is visiting Earth, flying around the skies of the UK and the rest of the world, and that that is happening. It's a real phenomenon. And I believe that because of the testimony of all the police officers have spoken to and the research I've done. Just remember, just remember, all it needs is it needs one case out of all of the people I've interviewed and all of the people. people around the world have reported UAP encounters just needs one of those cases to be found
Starting point is 01:03:47 to be real for the case to be made out that UAP is real. Moving forward, what I'm going to do is I'm going to interview a lot of these officers on camera. I've got the cameras, the green screen, and I'm going to put the videos out there because I think it's important that people see them. So I would just ask, I'm going to put them onto a YouTube channel called policing the unexplained. so I've created it and if anybody watching you know could jump on there uh subscribe to it that's just going to encourage you to make more and to move forward so that's my only ask if anybody sees this interview is to jump on to policing the unexplained subscribe like the videos on there and encourage me to move forward but i'm going to get these videos on there buddy and keep
Starting point is 01:04:30 pushing forward with this subject and really uh just keep searching for the truth mate I love that. That's awesome. Yes, we'll put a link in the show notes and video description. Everyone can go subscribe there for sure. I want to give you just a moment here, Roy, too. We do have a lot of former and current law enforcement, fire safety, military people who watch and listen to the show. I get reached out to all the time by them. So is there anything you'd like to kind of tell them before we go here? about this topic overall and their possible contribution to it as well. There is, and mate, thank you for giving the opportunity to say something, and I would like to say this.
Starting point is 01:05:20 If you are serving or former law enforcement, or indeed you serve your country in any capacity, whether that's military, the fire service, the paramedics, Coast Guard, whatever it may be, or even if you are a member of the public, because your accounts are just important to you as anybody else is in any profession, I would like to hear about it. And if you could email me about it, I will guarantee that I will reply to you. So my email is contact at policingtheunexplained.com. So contact at policingtheunexplained.com. That will get you through to myself. Roy Teague.
Starting point is 01:06:00 Tell me what you've seen. don't keep it to yourself because if you do, it'll just stay with you and nobody will ever know. Talk to me. Let's get the stories out there. Don't let these accounts fizzle away with you. Let's get them told. So contact at policingtheunexplained.com.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Send me an email, getting contact. Perfect. Again, we'll put that right in the show notes as well. And once again, guys, The book is Close Encounters of the Police Kind by Inspector Roy Teague. I cannot thank you enough for writing this book, Roy, and for really giving this topic the credibility that many of us believe it truly deserves. So you are doing a huge service, not only to your community, to your country,
Starting point is 01:06:50 but I think to the world with this book. So I got to thank you for that and for coming on Summer in the Skies today. You're very, very welcome, Roy, and thank you so much for having me on. not night.
