Today we are going to be discussing the rather quick but still quite fascinating case of the glowing globehead.
Now this sighting occurred around midnight between June 9th and 10th of 1960.
A woman was driving with her family to California.
And at the time of this sighting, her husband was asleep in the passenger seat next to her.
Her two children were asleep in the back of the car, and she was about 15 minutes away from Globe, Arizona.
She was driving around 65 miles per hour when she turned a corner and saw a small figure, standing about 100 yards away.
She claimed that this thing was standing on the right side of the road and looking left as though it was about to cross the road in front of her.
So not wanting to hit whatever or whoever it was, she slowed the vehicle.
At this moment, the figure turned to face her, then turned again and ran off the road.
However, in the split moment that this being faced the woman and the headlights fell upon it,
she was struck with a sinking feeling, as she realized that this was not your average pedestrian.
No, instead the woman described a small, about three foot tall,
furry, broad-shouldered being with abnormally long arms.
She described the head as being almost like a flattened sphere or like a pumpkin, with large, yellow, orangish, glowing eyes, which she said projected the light beyond the face, almost like they were emitting light, not just reflecting it. She said also that it had no visible nose, mouth, or ears. Now, after a few moments of shock, she laid on the gas and sped out of there and wakened her husband, who wanted to go back and look for the strange creature. Instead, she sped up to.
to 85 miles per hour in a hurry to reach civilization and simply refused to go back and look around for it.
Now again, this is a very short encounter, just a very simple kind of drive-by sort of experience.
And even within that though, you know, I don't think that the length of an encounter necessarily
determines its level of anomaly or level of importance. I mean, yes, longer encounters with more
contact gives me personally a lot more to talk about. However, this case,
still had an effect on that person's life. And I think that that's something about the
paranormal that I really enjoy is the fact that you'll have people who have had many,
many experiences over a very long period of time, very dramatic experiences,
very traumatic experiences. And you know, that you can say is life-changing for
that person. You can also have someone who for their entire, you know, however long
they've been alive, has never had that weird experience. And then all of a sudden,
something like this happens. And sure, there's not much contact. You know, on the outside,
we should argue it's not that scary or that traumatic, but it still has an effect on them.
And even if they go the rest of their lives without having any sort of repeat experiences,
that one thing, that one kind of pinprick of anomaly, is enough to really change someone's
paradigm. The thing that stands out absolutely the most to me about this case is the emotional
response of the witness. This impression of fear and wanting to just get out of the air.
Now, I don't know about you guys, but a lot of the times, if I see something weird and I'm traveling in a car, I do feel a certain level of safety, like, okay, I'm in this giant hunk of metal. Let's turn around and see, you know, what that weird thing was. Unfortunately, it's never Bigfoot. But, you know, in this case, she was just absolutely frightened of this small, you know, three foot tall, pumpkin-headed furry being, which ran away from her to the point that she didn't want to return. Now, this case is often
compared to the Simmons encounter, which I covered in my video, the slouchy Stockton spooks.
And for obvious reasons, you have this lone person, a woman driving at night, her husband was
asleep in the car, and she also saw these bizarre beings in the middle of the road.
And when she woke her husband up, he wanted to go back and see what they were, and she just
wanted to get the heck out of there.
Now, this is at odds with other encounters, such as the Honeycutt encounter.
I also covered this much earlier on my channel, so you can go check that out.
And in this case, a man saw these strange beings, and he not only stopped the car to get a look at them,
he got out and investigated, and really didn't feel any sort of fear or apprehension until after the encounter,
which is a very common pattern when he was telling someone else about it.
Now, while I hold the possibility of kind of directed emotional effect from the anomaly,
And I think that this does happen sometimes, you know, this extreme calmness that some people feel or this extreme fear,
or sometimes believing that these feelings are emanating from the anomaly itself.
In most cases, I tend to believe that it shows more about the person than the event.
And I think that's actually something just in general about experiences like this,
is that oftentimes I don't believe the anomaly reveals anything about itself to us.
but what I do think is very revelatory is that it shows us more about ourselves.
So, and I think that again, in many of these cases, the emotional response to the anomaly
is just kind of like, you know, what this person behaves like under extreme stress or something
completely unexplained. Now the interesting thing too about this case is the interplay of lights.
Now, it seems to me that the headlights falling upon the entity in this case,
that's really kind of the turning point where it goes from crossing the
road in front of the car, which yet again, I just have to mention we have another example of one of these perfect timing sort of anomalous cases, where if this woman would have been, you know, a minute further down the road or a minute behind, she probably, you know, if this thing, again, exists outside of our perception of it, wouldn't have seen it. So yet again, we have one of these, you know, just perfect timing, perfect place cases, which is just simply fantastic. But in this case as well, it's when the headlights fall upon the creature.
and it turns and sees her that it runs away into the brush.
So again, I feel like that does fall rather neatly in line with the pattern of
human-produced lights causing an effect on the anomaly.
Now, in addition to that, we also have the glowing eyes that emitted light.
And again, this is just yet another call out to how so many of these anomalous beings,
whatever form they take, seem to have light phenomena as part of them.
Of course, this is an idea that Keel was a big proponent of,
when he said that likely the light may be the most real part of this phenomenon. Likewise,
Paul Devereaux in Earthlights also suggested that, you know, all paranormal phenomena is almost
kind of manifestations of some sort of substance or a concept. And again, this has to do with
light anomalies. Now the entity itself bears a strong resemblance to the infamous Dover demon,
a similarly melon-headed being with prominent eyes and no other facial features. Now, both the Dover demon
and this case are simply kind of thrown into the umbrella term of UFO occupants,
even though there is no flying saucer in sight.
And it's interesting when you come across, you know, a lot of these encounters,
where there's just, you know, kind of bizarre, sort of humanoidish entities.
They're simply kind of tossed in under, well, maybe they came from space.
Now, this case, however, really does remind me of a Bigfoot encounter.
You know, you have this being standing alongside the road, a car comes a little,
long, it turns, it looks at the car, and then it flees into the underbrush. So, you know, again,
it seems kind of to me that there are these patterns and behavior of the anomaly that can't really
be pinned down to simply one category. And it does seem as though you're experiencing the same
experience so many times when you go through these encounters. It's just that they have, you know,
different forms or different masks perhaps. And again, I know this is a very short case without much
contact, very simple drive-by sort of roadside encounter. Yet I still think that regardless of how
intense the experience is, you know, this is a perfect example of a true anomaly. For today, I am
