Somewhere in the Skies - Witness Accounts: Volume 39

Episode Date: January 5, 2026

In this compelling volume of Witness Accounts, Somewhere in the Skies presents three firsthand UFO encounters spanning 1977 to 1995, each told directly by the experiencers. An aviation-savvy witness i...n Port Glasgow, Scotland describes two silent, elongated triangular craft flying in precise formation over the River Clyde, while a teenager in Saratoga, California recalls a low-hovering circular object with shifting lights, later echoed by local newspaper reports of repeated sightings. The episode culminates in a deeply unsettling Florida Everglades encounter, where glowing eyes in the swamp are followed by a massive humming, smoke-like object that appears to teleport across the sky, prompting a frantic escape and the capture of a rare photograph rediscovered decades later. Free of speculation and grounded in lived experience, this episode captures the fear, wonder, and lasting impact of close-range UFO encounters and the enduring question of what truly moves through our skies. Starting point is 00:00:00 You said this place was steps from the water. We just haven't found the steps yet. How much did we save? Enough. Enough to get lost. Or you could book a stay with Hilton. Welcome to your ocean front room. Just steps from the water.
Starting point is 00:00:16 The Hilton sale is on now. Book on Hilton.com or the Hilton app and save up to 20% to get the stay you expected. When you want savings, not surprises. It matters where you stay. Hilton, for the stay. Ambition comes in all shapes and sizes. At First Citizens Bank, we roll with your goals because we're built for what you're building.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Fit for your ambition for Citizens Bank. Spectrevision Radio. While our government's official position is not to speculate on this subject, we can choose to let our minds explore other possibilities to use our imaginations. For if we consider the astro-scientists agree on one point, that the possibility of life elsewhere is not only quite probable, some field is there without a doubt. Let us suppose them that these objects are real space vehicles, extraterrestrial origin, and not an illusion of the mind. I'm Ryan Spreck, and you are now somewhere in the sky.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Hi, my name is David Allen, and I'm going to tell you about something that happened to me in 1977 in Port Glasgow in Scotland. To set the scene, I was an aviation buff. I knew aircraft. I was quite happy with my knowledge of aircraft. I'd been to Bigin Hill, REF Big and Hill the year before for aircrew selection, unsuccessfully. I was in the Air Training Corps,
Starting point is 00:02:16 so I knew planes really well. At home I lived on the 10th floor of a block of flats. My bed was by the window. So whenever I woke up at night any time, I generally lean on the windowsill and have a lookout, and have a look out see what's happening in the street anything about the sun coming up you know just what's going on so i was staying at my brothers in port glasgow uh for the summer for about six weeks i was a bar porter at the hotel where he was second chef and we were living in the tenement
Starting point is 00:02:46 if you imagine the tenement has been at an elongated square like an oblong but it's got one end missing and where the end is missing that end opens out onto the main glasgow road and a railway railway line and some trees and the shoreline really and then it's the Clyde. So it's like a back court. So we're on the second floor and I woke up at night and as usual I thought I'd look out the window, knelt up, kind of put my chin on my hands on the window, so looking out, looked down to the back court, of course it's empty, there's nothing there. Looked at the windows opposite, there's no lights on or none that I really can recall.
Starting point is 00:03:25 And when I looked to the left towards the open end of the block that looked towards the road and the Clyde, all of a sudden in the sky, I saw two elongated triangles. And they were crossing right to left. And they were close enough that they were illuminated by the orange lights from beneath the road. So I really got the feeling they were like just out there on the road passing over. And I saw them for one, two, three, four seconds. And then my view was obscured. They appeared from like above the roof, saw them in the gap, and then they disappeared from a view.
Starting point is 00:04:00 The strange thing was they had no lights whatsoever. There were elongated triangles. They had no sound whatsoever. There was no visible signs of propulsion. There was no lights. There was no nothing other than the bottom was reflecting the orange street lights that you sometimes get. When clouds are really low, they reflect the street lights. These crafts were reflecting the orange street lights.
Starting point is 00:04:24 And they passed by silently and they went on their way. Now, the aircraft was closest into the shore and the number two was on the outside, tucked into a really nice position, really close and good formation. And although I would like to go, wow, something strange, extraterrestrial craft, the fact that were flying information made me think, they're ours. They've got to be ours. Who else? We fly like that.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Now, when I've opened up about the story recently, People have said to me, but geometry is sacred. Why shouldn't aliens fly information? And yes, that's correct, but then again, why shouldn't aliens fly a kilometer apart, vertically, horizontally at a 45 degree angle? Why don't, you know, they could fly it anyway other than the way that I'm used to seeing
Starting point is 00:05:10 our aircraft flying all the time. Now, heading down the Clyde, perhaps, running silent, shall we say, no signals, no emissions, following the lights, literally flying down the shore. Now, further down the Clyde, and a little to the north, there's a nuclear storage facility where they keep nuclear weapons. And further out in the Clyde down to the south-west,
Starting point is 00:05:37 you have an air base at Macrohanish, which was always rumoured to have strange goings on. It was a very remote place. It had a really long runway. It has a few stories itself centered around it. So I really got the impression that these were two top secret craft, possibly American craft, being flown over the UK without the UK actually being aware of them, as though they were being tested. And it's stayed with me ever since.
Starting point is 00:06:10 You know, as I say, I really know aircraft and to see these two elongated triangles. Now I've seen all the pictures of the supposed TR3B and all that kind of stuff now, but they're never as elongated as mine. That's like they're all the equal sides when you see the TR3B, but mine really had a pointy, pointy nose. Really quite fantastic. So that's essentially my sighting. It's puzzled me ever since.
Starting point is 00:06:40 I really don't know what they are, and I've only started really talking about it in the last couple of weeks. So that's my experience to a UFOs, Port Glasgow, Scotland, 1997, but I really think they were ours. My name's Trisha, and I'm going to share with you my first UFO sighting. So I am from Saratoga, California, and this experience happened when I was 16 years old in 1986. And Saratoga is in nice suburbs, very close to the foothills and the Santa Cruz Mountains, which are very pretty redwood trees. And Saratoga is in the area of Silicon Valley, where all the tech industries are. And at that time, there wasn't all the tech industries that there are now, but there was still Hewlett-Packard there.
Starting point is 00:07:52 and NASA and Lockheed and Moffitt Field, although I don't think even then Moffett Field was open still. And so I was at my boyfriend's house, and it was, let's say, 9.45 p.m. and we got in his El Camino, and he backed out of the driveway, and he lived in a really nice neighborhood, like two miles from where I lived.
Starting point is 00:08:35 And so in this neighborhood, it was where you would drive under 25. So you would be probably driving 20 miles, miles per hour, 15 miles per hour. And so he backs out of the driveway. I don't remember what month it was. And it was pretty clear skies. And then, so now we're starting to put down the street.
Starting point is 00:09:11 And he lives, or he lived, the house next to him was on a four-way. intersection. And I don't think that this intersection had stop signs. I think it was just more of a yield area because of the area that this particular section was was pretty easy to see where the cars were coming from. So either that or that where we were going didn't have a stop sign and maybe that going the opposite direction had a stop sign. So we are coming up onto the four-way spot, and I look up and to my left through the windshield, and I could see this round object floating, hovering in the sky,
Starting point is 00:10:21 above a pine tree. So let's say this object was a pine tree and a half up in the air. Not really high. It was very clearly, you could very clearly see it. It was like right there. And so it was hovering like, you know, above these houses. And from where we were, we just stopped right. there before crossing the intersection.
Starting point is 00:10:53 I was like, what is that? And it was the size of like, let's say, a Volkswagen bug. And there were these lights that were trying to see how I can describe it as best I can. In the center of this round object. And I was trying to, like, as I was trying to, like, as well, I think about it trying to figure out were the lights circling this object on the, was it circling or was the lights just changing colors around the outside edge of this circle object? So like if it was going from red to blue to white or something like that, like the color's changing like that.
Starting point is 00:11:51 And I don't think that there was any windows. It was just sort of a solid object. I could not believe my eyes. You're great at protecting your data, but lots of places could still expose you to identity theft. I thought it was safe. If that happens, LifeLock gives you a U.S.-based restoration agent

Starting point is 00:13:36 don't go any closer. I was totally afraid that if we kept driving down the street towards it, that it would hover above us and then a beam of light would come down and suck us up. I remember thinking that fear of that. And so he kind of just started creeping forward on the road and he just said, I just want to go past it. I want to see the other side of it.
Starting point is 00:14:11 And so he now is passing by the next half. houses. So the, where it was hovering was like the third house or fourth house down on the left as we went through the four-way intersection. And so then he, then the road kind of curved to the right. So we went into the curve and then he made a U-turn and is now just turning back around and now facing this, looking at this object through the windshield from that perspective. And then the object sort of moved a little bit down. So now it was sort of hovering above a different house to the left. And then I remember a helicopter flying nearby it, like kind of came over to it sort of.
Starting point is 00:15:16 And then flew past it. and then went away. And that, you know, over the years you learn about helicopters being seen near these UFOs. And so we were just, I was having a hard time believing what I was seeing. Like, my eyes. Like, I was like, you know, when you kind of want to rub your eyes, like, am I seeing this? So we were sort of, you know, we were having this experience together. And it was, mind blowing. That this object was just hovering in the air like this.
Starting point is 00:15:57 And so we sat there and watched it for, I don't remember how long it was. It could have been 10 minutes, 15 minutes, somewhere in there, I think. And then all of a sudden, as it's just right there hovering, just in place, it shot across the sky, just like Star Trek, like from zero to a thousand, just just, just a thousand miles per hour, a zillion miles per hour across the sky.
Starting point is 00:16:32 And watching it go was just really also mind-blowing to see how big the sky as you're watching something. shoot across the sky so fast and to be able to watch it for a little while until you couldn't see it anymore. And I don't remember what we talked about about it. I remember that I was late getting home and I remember thinking to myself that I was going to have to say to my dad or what I need to say to my dad, sorry I was late because we were watching a UFO. And so I don't even think that he even noticed I was late. So I don't think I even had to say anything. And then so the next day I was back over at his house.
Starting point is 00:17:36 And he must have told his mom. And his mom showed us the article in the newspaper. It said, like the title was, lights above Saratoga returns. We were just, wow. And so apparently there was something going on. And it said something like second Tuesday in a row, a light in the sky above Saratoga.
Starting point is 00:18:11 And then somehow this. person who wrote this article interviewed different people around the area who saw it. And if I could go back in time, I would have tried to get a hold of that guy and asked him questions. Because what I wonder is, was there more than one that particular, you know, each night? Because I remember that specifically him mentioning there was a girl that was at the local community college that it's like a from where his house was to the community college was like let's say a at least five to maybe eight minute drive or something. Not far away, but you would not be able to see from that spot. where we were from the community college, her looking up in the sky and seeing the same thing.
Starting point is 00:19:21 So it must have been either that same object moving around the town and then hovering, or there was multiple ones. Because it said that she left her class to go walk to the bathroom, and then so she saw it and then laid down on the grass to watch it. So it said, so Moffitt Field knew nothing. The airports knew nothing. No one knew anything about this. No one came forward. Like, what about this helicopter pilot? So, yeah, that was very interesting in my life. And so it made me even more watch the sky. And I started seeing other, not that close, but I, over the years in that area, have seen,
Starting point is 00:20:26 I don't want to say many, like, let's say five at five other different times-ish, where I've seen where it's that one light higher up in the sky, but not as high as a satellite, but let's say as high as, I don't know, a local airplane coming near to land at the more of the local airport where it's not flying the same flight pattern as the regular airplanes in that area.
Starting point is 00:21:05 And there was only one light, and it was just like a white light, and there was no sound. So, what else was I going to say? Um, um, um, um, um, um, um, hmm, what else was I going to say? Oh, yes. Okay, so, um, I feel that what came to me about it was the possibility that it is a government thing. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Like almost maybe was it a remote controlled something? I don't know. This was in 1986. I think it is possible that there's been many, many, many sightings in this area over the years. There's like a whole website that you can put your, your, tell your, sighting in this area of the Bay Area. All over the Bay Area, there's been sightings. And I could tell even more about other people saying that their son saw this and that and
Starting point is 00:22:23 like one that was like the size of a football field, not far from the same exact neighborhood. So that was very interesting. So yeah, so that was a possibility that it's maybe a government thing. But I'm not, I don't know for sure. Also, at one time where another guy was saying that he saw UFO that looked like it was in mid, sort of out of control, like going to crash mode, like through the air, flying through the air. And then from one moment to the next, it's like it went back into another dimension. And then he didn't see it again. So that's that's my story.
Starting point is 00:23:10 of my first sighting of a UFO. And years later, I talked to that boyfriend, got a hold of him, and I said, do you remember the time when he saw the UFO? And we had so much fun discussing it after all those years. So that's my story. Thank you for listening. Bye. Hey, guys.
Starting point is 00:23:38 I'm Louis Daylights. This is attempt number six, trying to record this hour on what's going on, it's very, very annoying, very, very frustrating. I don't understand why this is happening. I don't know if it has anything to do with the UFO encounter with some friends back in 1995. So basically, I'll give you a little history and then I'll get into it again for the sixth time today. In the early days of my photography passion, before I was even a photographer, I used to, I used to have all kinds of weird, random stuff happened to me, things that would encounter while I lived in South Florida in Miami. Back in the 90s, I was basically, I, I was, I was, I was,
Starting point is 00:24:14 was raised in Miami. After being born in New York, we moved to Miami and there's where I spent most of my childhood and teenage years and part of my adult life before moving to Massachusetts. But during the time that I was living in South Florida, Miami specifically, I was a teenager and I was often participating in a recreational pastime known as the old. And so during that time, I used to hang out with friends, have a good time. I had trouble keeping a job. I had trouble being a good student. I had trouble doing a lot of things because my recreational use of this kept me from from being all those things that I needed to be. So basically what happened is I was pursuing to be an actor. After high school, I wanted to be an actor. And I found that there were a lot
Starting point is 00:25:02 of doors that were being closed in my face in regards to pursuing that as a career. And I became sad. I became, you know, not depressed, but I was very sad and disillusioned with life, not being able to pursue what I wanted to pursue. So I made it. deal with myself, that my life would be the equivalent of what an actor experiences by taking different roles and playing different parts in different productions, except I made a deal that I would do it with myself and that I would put myself in situations that were exciting, situations that at times could be dangerous, that at times could be unusual. And basically, I said to myself that I would provide myself a quality of life that would allow me to experience a lot of different things. I didn't care
Starting point is 00:25:41 what got in the way of that. So in the process of doing that, I was getting myself into a lot of trouble. I was misguided. I was dealing with a lot of inconsistencies in my life, in particular. My recreational use of eventually became a hindrance, and I had to kick the habit in my later life. Anyways, I ended up wrecking my mom's car one day, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. My mom kicked me out of the house, and I went on to live my own life the hard way. And basically, I thank mom for that because ultimately it forced me to become a responsible individual and I learned how to do everything I had to do at that point. But basically, in a nutshell, as I was encountering life and participating in a lot of random activities, I remember telling stories to my friends all the time about all the adventures I was getting myself involved in and the things that I would witness. And my buddies were just like, dude, you should get a camera because everything that you experience is worthy of,
Starting point is 00:26:37 taking photos and documents. So like, get a camera. So I was like, that's a good idea. And I ended up buying a bunch of fun saver cameras. And I'd keep them in my glove compartment in my car. And every time I'd get into an adventure or something random would happen, I'd pull out my camera. But in any case, in 95, I got together with a group of friends.
Starting point is 00:26:55 And we basically decided that we were going to the Florida Everglades to see a meteor shower that was scheduled to take place that night. We ended up ultimately not seeing not even one shooting star for whatever reason. the meteor shower didn't happen. And that happened often to us. I remember friends on different occasions saying, hey, on Friday, it's supposed to be a meteor shower and the temperature and everything's going to be perfect for us to see it. There won't be any clouds. And we'd go out to the Florida Everglades at the right time to see it. And many times we wouldn't see anything. So that was kind of frustrating. But on this night, we went to the Florida Everglades. And if you know anything about the Florida Everglades, it's basically a government protected land. It's miles and miles and miles of swamp out in the southern part of Florida over on the West. West Coast. And basically, this area lends itself to anything that you want to see out in the sky because basically there are no city lights at that point. There was one casino. It was the Mikusuki Indian casino. And back in 95, they were the only ones who were allowed to have a casino and that casino was out there. But it was super deep, super far away. Anyways, a few friends and I,
Starting point is 00:27:59 we got into three different cars with our girlfriends and we all just went out to hang out and party and basically during that time we had gone out there we were waiting to see shooting stars and maybe a meteor shower but ended up not happening so at some point i remember i went to use the bathroom over on the far end of the parking lot also basically it's a two lane highway down in the everglades you take this road called chrome avenue there's a prison like way deep out there and it's where you have to go to get there and it's a two lane highway one coming this way one coming the other way and basically every few miles there's a little parking area where you can park rest and whatever And then there's just on both sides, swamp land as far as the eye can see, Everglades.
Starting point is 00:28:39 And the Everglades is basically just Swamp Land. Went out to use the bathroom off on the other end of the parking lot after a couple of hours of hanging out there with our buddies. And while I was using the bathroom, I looked across to the other side of the road where the Everglades were on that end. And as far as the eye could see, it was pitch black. And all of a sudden I see two eyes looking at me. And I was like, what the heck is that? Two eyes looking at me. there was two eyes looking at me from the other side and I remember looking and saying,
Starting point is 00:29:08 what the heck is that? And I'm looking and I'm looking. And the eyes that I could see, they weren't eyes that were reflecting like a cat's eyes, for example, or raccoon's eyes, where when you shine a light or there's something in the distance that's illuminating the eyes that they reflect, it wasn't like that at all. It was like two eyes that were literally lit up. Like they were illuminated. And I could see a scowl that was like a shape to them that were really, really quite creepy. Or two little yellow little eyeballs. And I couldn't figure out what it was, right?
Starting point is 00:29:37 Because on the other side, if you know anything about the Florida Everglades, it's swamp land, it could be anywhere between a few inches to like three feet of water. And it's all mud and muck. And there are no, there are no, like, land areas, you know. There are little areas that maybe are higher than some other areas, but it's all mud and muck. You know, there aren't people walking out there or living out there, you know, unless they're on houses with stilts or anything.
Starting point is 00:30:00 like that. We weren't anywhere near any of that. So right off the other side of the highway, where there are no trees or anything, is just blades of everglades. I was surprised to see what the heck it was. And it was about two to three feet high. And they were looking at me. And they were blinking. And I could see the eyes blinking. So I get done using the bathroom. And I run back and I tell my friends, I'm like, guys, you got to come see this. Their eyes looking at me from the other side of the road. Everybody comes all excited, looking for fun. And the eyes were blinking. And the guys were like, man, I'm going to go across a street and take a closer look and no, and you know, the girlfriends were getting mad. No, don't do it. So we're trying to figure out what it was and we knew it wasn't an
Starting point is 00:30:39 alligator because alligators don't stand three feet high and raccoons can't be three feet high and possums or turtles can be three feet high. So we know what are the creatures that are out in the Everglades. Even anacondas or snakes, pythons, they don't get, they don't stand three feet high and have eyes that light up. So we were at a loss to what was going on. And at some point, We were all going to, like, walk across the street. And as soon as some of the guys, like, got excited about trying to do that, all of a sudden the two eyes that were looking at us, like stood up. And now they were like six feet high.
Starting point is 00:31:13 So everybody freaked out. It was like, what? A couple of eyeballs looking at us from the Everglades that were two to three feet high. Now all of a sudden it seemed like it stood up. And it was like six feet high or like the height of a tall person. We were flabbergasted. We freaked out. Everybody ran back to the car.
Starting point is 00:31:30 and we're like, we're done. We're not going to go investigate that stuff. It's really weird. It's really unusual. We're not going to mess with it anymore. And we all just went back. And so we were out there just kind of dancing and grooving and hanging out. And we just decided we didn't care about what was out there enough to go investigate it.
Starting point is 00:31:47 And we forgot about it. Right? So we're back in the parking lot area on the other end about 100 yards from where we saw this, these creepy eyeballs. And while everybody was having a good time, I stayed kind of like a little bit, free. freaked out by what we had seen and I didn't get over it as easily as everybody else did and I just kind of became pensive and I started focusing on keeping an eye out on the Everglades now on the other side of us right so we had seen it was basically kind of behind us on the other end of the parking area now we were facing the other end of the Everglades where it was also miles and miles of swamp after some time I start to hear a hum was like and it was a steady hum that was a steady hum that was was getting a little louder and a little louder and it seemed to be coming from the other end of the Everglades there. And I remember stopping and trying to listen and not be disrespectful to the people that were talking, but I decided to take a few steps away and I was listening and listening. And then as
Starting point is 00:32:47 I was looking out into the Everglades, I saw like a little ball of smoke that was like a mile and a half to two miles away. It looked pretty large in size, maybe the size of, I don't know, two school buses stacked up on top of each other and kind of wide as well. Wasn't a cloud. I want to describe it as a ball of smoke. It wasn't perfectly round, but it had the shape kind of of a cloud, but it was smoky.
Starting point is 00:33:11 It wasn't a cloud. It was like smoke that was hovering over the Everglades. And the hum seemed to be coming from that direction. So it was like, I was thinking, what could it be? What could it be? But there was this ball of smoke that was kind of hovering over the Everglades
Starting point is 00:33:26 where the hum seemed to be coming from. And then all of a sudden, after a couple of minutes of seeing that, got the attention of a couple of the guys and I said, guys, check this out, man. Listen to that hum. And slowly but surely the whole crew of us who were out there got quiet, got really focused on what I was hearing. And everyone started to hear it. And they were like, oh, man, what is that?
Starting point is 00:33:45 We're trying to figure it out. And I point out the ball of smoke and everybody was kind of looking at it too. And they were like, man, that's really weird because there are no clouds in the sky. There are no lights out there. Everything was really pitch dark. Yet here was this gray ball of smoke kind of hovering. It wasn't dissipating and it wasn't getting fuller and it wasn't coming from the ground. It was just kind of steadily hovering over the horizon.
Starting point is 00:34:11 Like I said, about a mile to two miles away. And we're staring at it and we're staring at it. And all of a sudden, in front of all 15 of us, this ball of smoke implodes into itself. Basically just expands for a moment and then just implode it into itself without making a sound. If I was to give you a description of what a ball of smoke looks like when it implode it. explodes outwardly and then into itself right and it goes inward the opposite of an explosion and implosion and it kind of does this thing where it mushrooms out and compacts itself into itself and disappears when it implodes and that's what it looked like in the sky about two miles out into the everglades
Starting point is 00:34:50 and something some kind of ball of smoke up in the air imploded into itself and went away and we can no longer see it and the hum was gone. Before anyone could finish reacting to what they had just seen, it re-emerged like a mile to the left of where we were all standing. If we were looking at it right here, all of a sudden, what? Holy crap, look at it over here. And it was the same shape. And it was almost looked like fumes. As you look at the ball of smoke, it had like a fumey. like you know how when you're looking in the desert and you're looking at a far away distance and you could see the heat kind of like the heat wave of it where it's like like gases where it's like a little blurry like that's what this ball of thing looked like and we were all seeing in it
Starting point is 00:35:37 and we're like what the heck is that and it was like um all of a sudden it implodes into itself again and before it disappears completely it reemerges again now on this end like another mile in the opposite direction to the right dude everybody starts freaking out What the hell? And it's... And then we didn't know if it was getting bigger or if it was getting closer. Hum was louder and the ball of smoke was fuzzy. And you could see that it was fuming and like gassy.
Starting point is 00:36:11 There was something that was like not right with this ball of smoke. But it was getting closer, it seemed. And then it disappeared again, imploded into itself and reemerged again a little bit higher, but almost closer to us in the way that it was more above us. And we now had to look a little higher to see it, but it was almost like if it was over here. We were seeing it further away on the horizon, but now we were seeing it higher, up closer, and bigger. And the hum was louder. When that happened, out of the 15 people that were there, one person said, we need to get the hell out of here.
Starting point is 00:36:48 And usually when somebody makes a statement like that and we're seeing something scary, if this has ever happened to you where you see something scary and somebody says, let's get the hell out of here. And usually when somebody makes a statement like that and we're seeing something scary, if this has ever happened to you where you see something scary and somebody says, let's get the hell out of here, there's usually two or three people that are like, nah, let's stay, let's stay. We need to see what this is. What, you know, this is weird. Like, let's stay. Nobody said that. Everybody just like ran. And we all ran to our cars. And everybody jumped in their car. Now, don't get me wrong. People were laughing and having a good time, but we got the heck out of there. So we all get in our cars. I was in the back seat of my friend Kevin's car. I was in the back seat sitting in the middle with my girlfriend on this side and another pal on this side. Kevin was driving and his sister was on the passenger seat. There were two other cars that were ahead of us and they had already taken off.
Starting point is 00:37:31 And Kevin was taking a sweet time putting on his seatbelt and I'm like, dude, get us the hell out of here. We need to go. And so, you know, he put the pedal to the metal. The windows were already down from us hanging out and listening to the stereo. and I could hear the hum over the stereo, but I couldn't see anything when I looked out the window. So he went and turned the radio off so that we could hear the hum. And even though we couldn't see anything where we were now,
Starting point is 00:37:54 where we had looked before and we could see this ball of smoke or whatever it was, we could hear a hum that was really loud. It was like, hmm. And it was louder enough now that if we talked, it was still louder than our voices. And it sounded like it was right above us. us. So then all of a sudden, like, we didn't hear it for a second. And then all of a sudden, the ball of smoke was parallel to us, almost like parallel to the highest blades of grass
Starting point is 00:38:24 on the Everglades. And it was like less than a mile. Right. And we could see it. And it was humming. And we could hear the hum from the distance. And we were driving anywhere between 90 to like 120 miles per hour and the other cars were doing the same and we were booking it and we were going really fast and as fast as we were driving when I looked to the side I remember telling my girlfriend who was right next to me I was like look at it it's right there look at it it's right there listen to the hum it imploded into itself as my girlfriend and I were looking at it and all of a sudden the hum was above us again it sounded like a hundred Mekosukee Indian ghosts that were over our car, like, humming literally to scare the crap out of us.
Starting point is 00:39:15 Like, that's what I was thinking at that point. I was like, what? It just sounded insane. It didn't sound like anything you'd ever heard before. And it was like, hmm. And then it would stop. And all of a sudden, I would see it again over here. And I'm telling you, this ball of whatever this was, was imploding into itself, disappearing, and reemerging above us.
Starting point is 00:39:34 But we couldn't see it because we were in the car. It happened like two more times where we could see it. And the hum was far away. And then we could hear it and we couldn't see it. But it sounded like it was right above us. So the last time that I remember that it happened, I go digging through my stuff and I pull out my Fun Saver camera. And I'm like, and I stick it up into the moon roof or the sunroof of my friend's Honda Accord.
Starting point is 00:39:56 I stick my arm out and I literally put it up kind of at an angle like this. Because I know if it was this and if it wasn't right above our car that I wouldn't get the shot. So I held it kind of at an angle because I felt like it was more behind us than over us. So it was just a composition. It's my thing for photography. Like my composition is always like that's my favorite part of any shoot that I do. It's always about the composition before anything else. So I stick the camera out and I hold it that way kind of like this.
Starting point is 00:40:28 And I click the camera. Click takes the photo. Then we just keep hauling butt, man. Like we got the heck out of there. And I remember that when we got it. back to civilization. Everybody was freaking out and we lost contact with the cars that were ahead of us. Everybody went home. There were no cell phones in 95. So everyone just went home. And I remember when we got to my friend Kevin's house, I told him, dude, I took a photo of it. I know that I did because I clicked it.
Starting point is 00:40:53 And he said, well, did you use the flash? Because if it's a ball of smoke, you're not going to see anything in that picture. It's pitch black. And I was like, yeah, you're right. I didn't use the flash because I didn't think, you know, it was a button that you had to hold down for a few seconds, wait for a red light. And that would have been an eternal like seven seconds to wait for that so that I could take the photo. If I didn't do it, I just took a photo without a flash. And so pretty much I felt like I didn't get the shot, you know. And that fun safer camera went back into my glove compartment.
Starting point is 00:41:25 And like I always did is I would, I would do, you know, I would shoot. And I would often have numerous roles of film lying around waiting to take to develop. for whenever I had extra cash. And because I was a teenager and I didn't have a lot of jobs that I could keep or I wasn't making a lot of money, I often put to the side the need to develop roles of film and I would use my money for other things, you know? And it was kind of the thing that I always did. And so sometimes I'd shoot and I wouldn't develop any particular role of film until like
Starting point is 00:41:54 weeks or months later. And so because I didn't have the urgency of thinking I'd captured anything with that one shot, since I didn't have the flash and it was pitch black, I just didn't put any effort into going to do that. And it wasn't until a couple of months later that I talked to my friend Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse was a family friend of my mom's. And Mickey Mouse used to live in our house. My mom used to rent rooms, kind of like Forrest Gump's mom. She used to rent rooms. Well, she used to rent rooms. And Mickey Mouse was a guy that he lived with us. And my friend Pucci called him Mickey Mouse because he never talked. He was always really quiet. He just had this big smile on his face all the time.
Starting point is 00:42:31 And he would be like, what's up with Mickey Mouse? Dude, why is he always smiling? And I'm like, I don't know, man. Mickey Mouse is a funny guy. And so it was so funny. Like, we gave him that nickname that even my mom called him Mickey Mouse. And it was hilarious. So Mickey Mouse used to work at a photo lab in Hyaliyah.
Starting point is 00:42:46 And he didn't give us stuff for free. But, you know, if I took a bunch of film, he would take care of it pretty quickly for me. And he would deliver it to me and all that. So I gave him one night, like, I don't know, maybe four months after this happened. I gave him, like, two of my Fun Saver cameras and, like, three of my black and white rolls of film and he took it to the lab and then he brought it back to me a couple days later i was going through all the photos and i was like oh man here's some pictures from that night we went to see the meteor shower and then i said oh man the one picture the one
Starting point is 00:43:15 picture of the thing above the car like i wonder if i got it so i start going through the the printed pictures that he gave me and there it was there was the picture i knew it was the picture of the spaceship I'm going to call it a spaceship because we're convinced 15 of us saw it there was no way around it we knew what we heard we know what we saw
Starting point is 00:43:39 we know what we experienced and I don't know if the eyeballs that we saw looking at us on the other end of the Everglades I don't know if that was connected to what we saw but...

Starting point is 00:45:02 Hit up mushroomcounsel.com and get cooking. I have this picture, and I know it doesn't coincide with any kind of typical UFO that anybody has ever seen or reported, but it's undescribable. It was from that roll of film. It was a photo I took sticking my camera out of the moon roof or sunroof of the car. Whatever it was that was hovering over us, this is a picture. picture of it. So basically this is what happened. This happened in 95 and I think it was already 96 by the time I'd had printed photos of this and I was obviously still hanging out with my friends. So they all got to see the photo and everybody freaked out because they thought, you know, we were all there. We know
Starting point is 00:45:48 what we encountered. We see the photos from that night. This is the picture that was taken. There was no disputing it. That was a photo that I took. Then digital photography happened and film photography became a thing of the past and I had the negatives of these photos from that night and then I put them away. I had this shoebox where I would keep a lot of my photos and I had canisters. So this day, rolls of film that I hadn't developed that I carried around with me as I moved to different things. And as I was growing older, I moved probably like another eight times before I was 30. And I just lived everywhere and I participated in so many different adventures that I was growing older. I lost track a lot of my stuff.
Starting point is 00:46:31 A lot of stuff I left at my father's house when I ended up moving out from there. And it wasn't until 2018 when my father passed away that I went back to Florida. I've been living in Massachusetts since 2013. In 2018, my father passed away and I went back to Miami to take care of his final arrangements. And my brother and I sold his house. And before we sold the house, we went to. through all the stuff and we got you know we basically had to clean out the house and i took a photo of my minota freedom escort which was my point and shoot camera that i shot with for years and uh this is a
Starting point is 00:47:11 photo of it this was my go-to camera for a lot of the stuff that i experienced during my life so it's a really special camera but then even that day i remember salvaging a bunch of rolls of film and some of the photos that you're seeing now are from rolls of film that i shot in 95 that i didn't get to developing until this March 2022. Because when I, when my father passed away and I brought back what I could bring back on my one suitcase, it all went into my garage. And I didn't, uh, I didn't think about it after I brought it back. I just kind of let it sit there in boxes.
Starting point is 00:47:47 And then in March 22, I was watching a documentary about the Tick-Tac UFOs that the military had had footage of. And it, I started thinking about that. situation in 95 and I went back and I started looking for the photos and I don't have the negatives anymore but when digital photography became a thing I ended up scanning those pictures that Mickey Mouse was able to print for me and I remember Mickey Mouse at the time he took the film back for me and he gave me a higher resolution version of the same photo which was more grainy than anything else but it was his attempt at trying to see whatever we couldn't have seen normally in
Starting point is 00:48:26 the original photo because it was a little bit on the darker side. but so I have those. So I reached out to my friend Sergio and Alex, their twins. They were a couple of my buddies that were with us that night that I've stayed in touch with. And now these guys, they own their own businesses. And they're married and they have kids, just like I'm married and I have kids. And Sergio sent me a picture of a picture I had sent him back like in 2006 or 2004 or something like that. And I was like, yeah, man, I remember the story.
Starting point is 00:49:02 And we caught up. And I went digging for my photos and this is where I found them. And so when I was watching that Tick-Tac documentary, there was a website that they featured where people have reported sightings since the 1950s. And they have a chronological order of sightings. So I went on the website to see if there had been any sightings in the Florida Everglades. And sure enough, yeah, in the Florida Everglades. I wouldn't call it a hot spot, but it definitely had some history. And so I called the hotline and I reported the 1995 incident in 2022.
Starting point is 00:49:41 And they didn't really take me very seriously. I told him I had the photo. He asked me to email it. It was very matter of fact. And he said, if you want to tell the story, because I wanted to tell him the story over the phone, he wasn't really trying to hear it. He says he gets phone calls every day. People want to talk to him.
Starting point is 00:49:59 and he says if he listens to every story, he won't get anything done. So he tells people to email the story. So I emailed the story, never heard back. I accompanied it with the photograph, never heard back. And I just felt like it was time to share that story because it is tied into my photography life. And it is tied into my youth, my teenage years that I, you know, that I'm enamored with because it is part of my life. I thought I'd share that with this community and maybe I'll make some new friends that aren't necessarily film buffs but UFO buffs like me and my pals. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
