Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, son of a boy dad listeners, you can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen, ad free on Amazon Music. Hey, guys, this episode is brought to you by High Noon. High Noon is going to be your drink of whatever season you are in every weekend, any weeknight that you choose to have a little bit more fun. High Noon is going to be your companion for its smooth taste, for its incredible profile, for its guilt-free ingredients and everything about high noon is always going to bring a winner to your scorecard that's exactly right there's no added sugar it's only 100 calories gluten-free
Starting point is 00:00:39 you guys know me i care about what i put in my body that's part of the reason why i'm such a fan of high noon i just love the fact that there's none of that chemically malt taste no that just makes you feel like what did i just ugh why is my mouth still tastes like that a long time after the fact. No artificial flavors either. And here's another one. No art of, or no high fructose corn syrup. Oh, man. I hate H. F. C.S. It's the worst. But what's the best is high noon? Whether it's the tequila, I'm going with a lime today. Lime is always just going to be the best friend of tequila. But they have a million flavors and they have a bunch of different options. Francis, what are you going with? Well, I'm a peach man myself. But look,
Starting point is 00:01:23 I'm open to expanding my horizons at this point. As we both know, I'm a big passion fruit guy as well. And I love the grapefruit. And now these flavors all come, not all of them necessarily, but I think a bunch of them come in single flavor packs. So you don't have to sift through the other flavors that you're not a fan. You pick up what you want. You're like, hey, I'm in the mood for pineapple.
Starting point is 00:01:42 I'm going to get eight pineapples. And I'm going to have myself a great weekend. And that's always available to you at high noonspirits.com. Find out more about all this at high noonspirits.com. And we'll start the episode now. Are we good? Yeah, yeah. Already, welcome back to the son of a Wadadd podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:05 We are here live from HQ3. Hello, how are we doing? Good. I need to jump in real quick and revise some of the negative energy that I threw out about Japan right when I returned. Oh, yeah. No, you didn't throw out negative energy. You just said it sucked and you didn't like it. Well, you made me never want to go there.
Starting point is 00:02:26 Yeah, you just ruined their view on this. We all know you were never going to. I had a trip booked. Harry, come on. You were going to spend a month there. Yeah. weren't you in the winter? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:36 I was going to go to all the five-star rated restaurants. Yeah. Well, the best Chinese and Italian places in Japan. It's important to note that I, we recorded the episode where I reviewed it just, you know, mere hours after I returned from a 20-hour travel trek home. And by the end, each day of that trip, I got sicker and sicker. and by that point I was in the worst place I'd been in.
Starting point is 00:03:00 And I was genuinely dead. And I would have reviewed anything with utter through horrible lenses. Now that I've recovered, still hate Japan. But the friendship on the trip was exceptional. And we did have actually a great time. We really did. When I came back from Wyoming, I talked about how much I hated Jackson Hole for an hour and a half. I had fun. I had great time.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Having a bad time with your friends is better than having a good time with your friends. Is that so? I think sometimes, like, having a terrible time that you can commiserate. Because a good time only exists once. A bad time you can talk about for the rest of your life. Yeah, like when we went to Iceland, like it was like just disaster after disaster. And it was hilarious.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Yeah. And you're always happening about it. The whole time it was just fucking terrible. That's what made this great. was that every time something went wrong, we all just laughed hysterically. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, now we had like full days in Iceland that were just like, okay,
Starting point is 00:04:05 the thing that we were going to do doesn't even exist. Yeah. There's no waterfall. If I had done the same trip I did alone without my two buddies, it would have been, I wouldn't have come home.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Yeah, yeah. I would have just said, I'm going to the top of the hotel and I'm going to Kamikaze down into the decorative fountain. That is that. how that works. No, but they have...
Starting point is 00:04:28 Comcaziing down. What do you mean? You don't think I could... No. Blow yourself up the way down. Take a few with me on the way out. I think he used it right. I think Kamikaze used just a crash.
Starting point is 00:04:42 But I think that Japan has the most creative ways of committing suicide anyway. So like... Straight to the forest. Well, typically it's sword. Oh, and I was thinking of the office buildings that have nets so you can't jump. Oh, yeah. The whole city's got nets.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Well, I would jump. jump off an office building with a sword. Yeah, that's smart. To go through the mess. To cut the net. To cut the net once you land. Time it perfectly. That's innovation.
Starting point is 00:05:09 Even the Japanese haven't thought of. No. Cutting the net. But I get that if your buddies were like, like it was an in-house conversation that this is bad and you made it an outhouse conversation. Yeah. I was so,
Starting point is 00:05:23 I was so delirious when we recorded that I, I just could not even, I didn't even really understand what I was saying. And I listened back and it was a very negative review of my trip. I felt, I felt bad after the fact because it's just not true. We had, we had a lot of fun. And there was so much cool stuff that I should have highlighted more strongly. But honestly, like the negative things tend to be funnier and we're a comedy podcast. I think that's probably why not to pull back here about the good parts.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Yeah. Yeah. genuinely like I don't know like it's just never yeah Rome made the point back and you were like Japan's beautiful it would be like I don't yeah Rom made the point he was like if you had just come back and raved about how good of a time you had you'd just be another like neck bearded
Starting point is 00:06:08 white tourists that went to Japan is awesome I saw a geisha I took a picture with a geisha did you see all the like the airtime square no I'm always I've always been curious about that yeah that Are you talking about the Shibuya crossing?
Starting point is 00:06:26 Or are you talking about the place with the cat? No, no, no. The cat video. No. There's a cat video. Yeah. The Shibuzi crossing. Everybody at the intersection's crossing.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Yeah, it is. I mean, you just cross the street and then you try to find a vantage point to go look at everybody crossing the street. And the only place to do, it's like a McDonald's that you have to sneak into. It's not that great. But there is some good chicken catsoo right around the corner. Ooh, chicken and cats. Love that. Chicken and cat stew.
Starting point is 00:06:58 It's fucking delicious. It's just a funnier comedic choice to say I didn't like the trip to Japan. Yeah. I mean, look, obviously the truth is somewhere in the middle. I think that it was too short of a trip. I totally just did not account for how much trouble it would be to adjust to the time zone. Never had a recovery day. Never really like allowed myself to catch up,
Starting point is 00:07:22 which meant that I was just. holding on for dear life for four days and then returned home, you know, a shell of myself. Whenever I have a nice vacation, I don't say a word about it on here because that shit's not interesting. Yeah. Having a good time on a beach and having a cocktail is the least funny thing that ever happens. No, not funny at all. This was a trip, though, where like after four days, I was fundamentally closer to the two guys that I went with than I had been before. and I think often, like,
Starting point is 00:07:50 you spend four days with two of your buddies like that, you're like, I don't want to see those guys for a long time. That was not the case here. I would really like to go back to Japan with them. Maybe Korea next time. Yeah, I've run back a few of the things we, you know, a few of the dinners, maybe not eat grist. Were the guys that you went with, like,
Starting point is 00:08:13 not like your really good friends? No, they are. One of them is a very dear friend that I've known. I know very, very well. The other is a very dear friend of his, who I had only met once. Friend of a friend. Friend of a friend now friends.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Correct. Very nice. Love that. We connected and now there's a bond for life. Or there was until that episode came out, at which point they were like, we completely misunderstood your feelings about us. And they were very funny about it.
Starting point is 00:08:41 They were like, wow. They were like, band of brothers, you should watch it sometime. That's funny. It's a good line. I did have, I swear to God, I had that feeling. I think this is just like the thought of man where I was taking off from Tokyo leaving, listening to sad music about home. Yeah, yeah, of course. And I literally in my head thought, I'm due for a rewatch of Band of Brothers.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Oh, yeah. I think that's something that just comes up every once in a while in a man's like. It's like the cicadas or like men's menstrual cycles. Yeah, yeah. It's just phenomenal. I think this will be my fifth loop all the way through. Have you read the book? No.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Oh, you should. I refuse. It's really good. I don't want to ruin the show. I've read the first couple of pages. That's great. Sounds incredible. Yeah, highly recommend.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Yeah, that sounds really good. Can't recommend it enough. Yeah. Francis, I think you were just tired. Yeah. Yeah. You slept till. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Today, well. You don't even want to say. Don't even want to say. It's like a curse word. Yeah. It's like Voldemort. Yeah. Because, I mean, I was up at eight personally.
Starting point is 00:09:46 just getting after it nice yeah seizing the day you you must be lying have you had your coffee hours that you sleep have you had coffee you must be lying well last night I went to bed probably one woke up at eight nine uh huh eight or nine
Starting point is 00:10:02 it takes me a good hour to wake up fully to get out of bed and start you get up start scrolling hitting the jewel immediately I had first of all don't vape second of all uh no I don't I actually don't really have like the urge to go my phone when I wake up.
Starting point is 00:10:18 So what are you spending an hour on? What are you doing for an hour? Snoozing the alarm. So you sat an alarm on days when you don't have shit to do. Well, I had shit to do today. What'd you have to do? I had a bunch of shit to do. I've been in the city for hours.
Starting point is 00:10:31 This is a bald face lie. No, it's not. Just the great runner of the podcast that Harry does so much. Doing what? Flying around. So many clerical and bureaucratic things to attend to. I mean, I've been everywhere. I was busking at Union Square.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Where were you and where were you? Again, I am not professing to have been active so far today. I'm not out here saying that. You still got the crust in your eyes. I sure do. It's 2 p.m. Still got the morning J.O. juice on my stomach. I thought I smelled something.
Starting point is 00:11:05 That's the Obero from Bayrido. Yeah. It's very expensive. I was up at 4th. One of my JITs just decided to be awake at 4.30 this morning. Damn. So you've been up since 4? Jits. I mean, I tried to go back to sleep for a little bit, but then I just, the other jit,
Starting point is 00:11:19 awoke. So you've been up and fully awake? 4.30. No, no, I said I tried to go back to sleep in between. So how long did you go back to sleep for? Probably from like 530 to like 6.15. Nice. It's a whole extra day of sleep. 45 minutes. One of my favorite things is when someone, Rohn or I will text our group at, you know, 7 a.m. hey what time we're doing today
Starting point is 00:11:47 and Ron and I are going back and forth and we'll basically decide on the time knowing that Harry will not be up until noon. I'm awake at which point I don't care about the time. It's too late for him to No I don't care what time we record I'm available I'll be here regardless
Starting point is 00:12:02 because you're in the city I'm in the square You're in the city You're in the city already at Union Square errands I've taken three different trains today The R and the W is the same line. No, it's actually not.
Starting point is 00:12:18 It's quite different. Well, it's the same line. Similar route. But they branch off different directions. I'm just, I'm tired of your filthy line. Francis, say how late you slept? I slept till 11.05. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:12:32 That's like I got like someone's got to check in on you. Sickening. Yeah. I don't think it is. I think your body needed sleep. Are you using drugs? Here's what happened. You can talk to a friend.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Went to bed at 10. a. Excuse me, 10 p.m. Oh my God. You got 24? It was 25. I went to bed. No, I'd be 25. I went to bed at 10 a.m. Oh, my God. I did it again. 10 p.m. I woke up at 12.55 a.m. and thought, oh, boy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:03 And I was, I was, I thought maybe it'd be four and I went out into my kitchen because I don't have a clock in my bedroom either. That's fucking insane. These are all things that I've been recommended. intended not to have. Why would you have a clock? Because those that stresses you out. Unlike getting up and walking out and now you're on your feet in the cold apartment being like way worse sleep problems than I do. Definitely. You guys are like you lie about how long you sleep. Like you guys if you wake up at 1 a.m. You're like it's I'm fucked. I can't get back to sleep. Well then I was then I read for about an hour and a half. Oh, Jesus. Because I don't want to be on my phone. That's a real negative.
Starting point is 00:13:45 You're not supposed to. But I'm reading. You've got to turn the lights on. I'm reading an unbelievable book. Yeah. So then you just don't sleep. Hmm? Like if you're reading a book that you like to try to fall asleep, you'll just stay awake.
Starting point is 00:13:56 I don't. I don't know. I mean, you read it for an hour and a half at one a half. I was waiting for myself to get tired again. And then I finally did. And then it was, I went to bed back to sleep at like whatever, 233. And then I slept a full night from that point. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Which was the problem. It's not terrible. I woke up and I was like, I bet it's like 9.30. Well, you would have no idea. You got to judge off of like which way the sun's hitting the window. I got no sunlight coming in. I got these curtains that I. Just holding your hands up to the sun and like stacking down to the horizon.
Starting point is 00:14:34 Probably four and a half hours to sunset. It smells like noon right now. I'm surprised you've never gotten like fuchs by that. No clock. He's an early riser. He's like Ben Franklin. If not for this Japan trip, I routinely cannot. I will never sleep past 8-day ever.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Yeah, see me, like if I don't set the alarm, I could sleep till like 3 p.m. Really? Definitely. I think I could too. Really? I think I'm a prolific sleeper if given the chance, if given a bite at the apple.
Starting point is 00:15:04 Yeah, no alarm on my phone for hours. I got to set alarms on the weekends because I'll sleep the whole day. My body basically does the equivalent of like, I'm trying to think like when if I were a kid and my dad came into my room shook me awake and was like we have to go right now
Starting point is 00:15:21 damn that's what every every time I wake up is that level of huh that makes me think your ancestors were hunted yeah yeah you guys were on the run yeah are you do you come from an enslaved people I think I come from a line of
Starting point is 00:15:38 very prominent figures of the underground railroad Really? Yeah, we were probably the ones constantly, like, opening up the clock to reveal the hidden passage. Right. We got to go. We got to go. Time. They're coming.
Starting point is 00:15:52 I was thinking about that today. The village is on its way. Isn't it crazy when you go through the tunnels in New York that they have, like, a door on the side? Yeah. Yeah. Like, just to close. In Independence Day, that doors. You got a door on the, on, like, the tunnels.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Oh. Like a vault door. Like a door in, like a bank. Is that for? Oh, you're talking about the big tunnel to close, fully close the tunnel. Yes. If there's like water coming through. Is it water?
Starting point is 00:16:18 I don't know what it's for. I mean, I'd assume it's something like that. Let's not look it up and let's just be wrong. Yeah, it's probably water. It's probably like the huns. I honestly thought it was like just to block it off. It could be that. It's like if someone has a nuclear bomb on Manhattan and they've told us if anyone
Starting point is 00:16:37 leaves the island, they'll detonate it. Yeah. They'll close, they have to close off the tunnel. So it's probably for that in water. Or if like Batman drives down. I've moved on from the water theory. I don't know why we're sticking. Clearly that's not right.
Starting point is 00:16:50 I mean, it could be. You don't like the Bain theory? No, no, that one doesn't really do it for me. Because I feel like that would, if they blew it up, it would still evaporate queens. Not if it's underwater. It would just cause a tidal wave. No, it would still evaporate queens. The point is not it blowing up.
Starting point is 00:17:08 The point is not letting anyone off the island of Manhattan. The money train. Oh. That's a theory. See, I never would have guessed that. What is the theory? It's used for the money train. No, hold on a minute.
Starting point is 00:17:24 That's the subway platforms. We're talking about, say, the Midtown Tunnel. I mean, specifically, we're talking about the Queens Tunnel, or I am. Walt Dore and Queens Tunnel, I think. It's either to keep the bad guys in or the bad guys out or to, like, There's no bad guys in Queens. It's very safe. No.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Yeah. It's the Yemenis. But I think it could be easily used to like lock a bunch of if the whole city went in. Do you remember the movie Jack with Robin Williams? No. Where he farced into a jar. If all of Queens went into the tunnel and farted simultaneously and bottled it up. They wanted to save it.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Yeah, yeah. As like a biological weapon. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, that's probably the most reasonable explanation. probably what they're doing to it. It's used to save the farts. To save the, well, in case someone's coming over with the plague and you need to fight back. And you're like, hey, we're out of, you know, the grid's been shut off.
Starting point is 00:18:24 It's looking like this plague thing is said. Like we're due for a lockdown. Yeah, of course. Israel's got the vaccine. Do you see that? Is that what they said? They already have it. They got the vaccine.
Starting point is 00:18:39 Oh, well, then we're good. Yeah. Israel is us. Israel is, no, Israel is us. Everyone else is fucked. Do you... We're all going to have to become Israeli if you want the shot. Huh?
Starting point is 00:18:49 You're going to have to become Israeli if you want the shot. You don't get it. We already are. Except for court. Well, I am. You're not. I am. You have to be accepted.
Starting point is 00:18:58 They wouldn't even let you over there. You don't get it. Pretty much. Jay Will, do you want to come on with us and talk with us? I mean, so we're not allowed to talk Israel anymore. If Jay Will is coming up. That's usually what that means. We don't talk about Israel?
Starting point is 00:19:12 No, we're not allowed. Jay Will told us last week that he takes four baths a day. Four? Four? He takes four baths? He takes four baths every day. Why so many? I've earned it.
Starting point is 00:19:29 It's true. You have. You can take as many baths as you'd like. I mean, I don't lather up with soapings. Yeah, yeah. It's more just relaxation. Yeah, I got a TV there. Oh.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Uh-huh. Coke. Oh. Oh, I love that. Coca-Cola. Yeah, of course. That's insane. That's an insane move.
Starting point is 00:19:47 So much time. To have a fucking, he says before golf first thing in the morning. Sometimes. He'll get into the tub with a Coke. Love that. It's a great way to start the day. Exactly. If you guys ran as many fucking suicides as I've ran in my life.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Yeah, of course. You've been in a fucking bath four times too. Yeah. Nobody is in the bath. These guys don't have time to take baths in the morning because they wake up at noon. You definitely don't because you're around the city all morning by that around, bro. Exactly. Exactly. I mean, I'm slammed. They're sleeping in all hours of the day.
Starting point is 00:20:16 They're in Japan sleeping. Exactly. You guys wouldn't know about four baths in one day. He's going to London, watch football. Some of us got to work. Some of us. Yeah, exactly. Someone's got to keep the lights on. It's correct. Francis, can you also correct J. Will? Because he said that he wouldn't eat a hamburger in Japan. He said that he would eat a hamburger in the U.S. Perfect, God to ask. Yeah. Perfect got to ask.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Hamburger was one of the best meals we had. in Japan. They do Kobe beef. They do Wagyu beef burgers. The burger experience we had was spectacular. They put it over rice. The one thing that was tough was they only gave us chopsticks. It's tough to break up a hamburger patty with chopsticks.
Starting point is 00:20:58 I was stabbing the shit out of it to try to like break it in a line. Did you not ask for a fork or a knife? I wouldn't dare. Wow. Man, we've done enough wrong. What do you mean? the war. First the atomic bomb.
Starting point is 00:21:15 I think they're doing us wrong by not offering a forking. I agree. I completely agree. I mean, it's disrespectful to not offer. I agree. Just like it's disrespect for us not to eat their food. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:21:24 How to fuck you on me to hamburger with chopsticks. Type shit you got going on a wall. You could pick up the whole thing and just bite it. I thought maybe that was what I should do. Was it like a rice like cake? The rice was in a bowl as the bed. Upon which the burger sat. Was there like?
Starting point is 00:21:43 Actually, ketchup and mustard. There was a green hot sauce. There was some kind of like pickled onion type situation. Is that what we're looking at? This doesn't really sound like a burger. You had the bed of rice and then you took the burger off the plate that they brought it on and put it on to the rice. Is that like a bun made of rice right up there? No, no bun.
Starting point is 00:22:07 That's what y'all want me to try. It's like a piece of meat in between two. Gotta save that in a tough. That's not what we have. That looks insane. He says the best thing he had. Like two golf pads with a wrap round of burger. He said that's the best thing he had.
Starting point is 00:22:24 And he'll be like biting into like a nature valley bar. It's going to be just rice everywhere. It's close? I believe you that it was very good, Francis. Japanese hamburger hamburger with rice. Try that one, Tyler, just to see. No buns. We had no buns.
Starting point is 00:22:43 anywhere. Yeah, there you go. That's what it was. That's exactly what it was. This is literally, yeah, I don't, we didn't have an egg, but this is the type of, this might even be where we ate. I mean, it looks good, but I'm going to, that's, and by no means, is that a burger? I don't think it was actually a single thing that would qualify that as a burger.
Starting point is 00:23:03 What would you call it then? Meat and rice. Why wouldn't it be a burger? It's a hamburger patty. Because there's no bun. Who says? you need to have a bun for it to be burger. Growing up, we never had buns.
Starting point is 00:23:17 We only ate them on beds of lettuce. No, no. Swear to God. No. That just can't be true. Yeah, Wolfsnack burgers from the farm we could see, literally, I've run Wolfsnack Peninsula. And it was... No, that one's far enough away.
Starting point is 00:23:30 Okay. We saw it through the telescope we had. Yeah, it would bonoculars out. That was for bird watching. I watched the neighbors. The burgers are done. Yeah. And who were old.
Starting point is 00:23:40 I shouldn't have. I mean, I just feel like a bird. needs either bun, lettuce, tomato. It can't just be the meat. That's meatloaf. You had meatloaf with rice. Can I say something? How the fuck are you supposed to eat that egg with chopsticks?
Starting point is 00:23:54 We saw a middle of those. You just break it all up. You mix it all together. They're big on mixing stuff. That's for the chef to do. In truth, we did not have the egg. But we did have these fixings. We did have this kind of fixings, which were amazing.
Starting point is 00:24:08 I mean, it looks great. Like, I have no doubt that I would love it. Yeah. See, she's figured it. out. I don't know how she did that though. But you definitely can eat a burger. You couldn't go to five guys and start picking it apart with chopsticks. Right?

They're not skimping on meat. It's all either Kobe or Wagyu. That's all they have. You say that doesn't mean anything to me.
Starting point is 00:26:21 That means nothing to me. That's all he has too. That's like a leg or a thigh chicken to me. You remember Kobe and Shaq? Of course. Take out Shaq and put Wagyu. Same combination. Just as just as dominant.
Starting point is 00:26:35 See to me, no, Shaq's better than Wagu. I don't know. Wagu is like any era. You know what I mean? Shack's the most dominant player ever. Yeah, but he doesn't, he couldn't, is he beaten Wemby? Because Wagu might be able to beat Wembe. Like Wagu can go out to the three points. Nobody's more dominant than Shaq ever.
Starting point is 00:26:54 Agreed. Bill. Nobody ever. What about Wagyu? Will Chamberlain. No, he played against me and you. Not Will. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Doesn't mean he was. What if you guarded Shaq? What would he do? Rape me? Literally. If he wanted. He box out with his dick in my asshole. I don't think he likes redheads.
Starting point is 00:27:15 And I would die on the spot. Yeah. He'd go over the back, pull out, and I would hemorrhage to that. She's prolapse all over the free throw line. Wow. That's, that's... There has to be... Never heard it like that.
Starting point is 00:27:30 I'm not so sure he's that dominant. Yeah. Suddenly you're arguing the other way. Wow. Suddenly you're arguing against Jack. I don't know. Not that. But anyway, Wagyu beef, whatever beef.
Starting point is 00:27:45 He's just saying he thinks he would get sick, but he's thinking of, he's thinking in Chinese terms. This is Japan. They know what they're clean. They're wonderful people. Are the Chinese not? Are they dirty? Yes.
Starting point is 00:27:57 I don't think they're dirty. They're just not as clean. Did you see that post that Donnie and Chaps did about the country, the cities in the world, or maybe it was the countries? that have the most billionaires, the highest concentration of billionaires. It was cities. No. What was New York?
Starting point is 00:28:17 Hell no. Yeah, I think New York was number one. Moscow was two. It was number one. Sam Fran. Sam Fran. I don't know. Might have been up there.
Starting point is 00:28:25 It was up there with, you know, Silicon Valley tech people. But what was so surprising to me was that a lot, like, that there were a number of Chinese cities. Hong Kong. Hong Kong, you understand. Beijing. But like Shanghai was up there and I was like, man, I didn't, for some reason, you know, with China being a communist run country where everything is nationalized. Kind of like you all trying to do here. But anyway, go ahead. You wouldn't, I wouldn't have thought that almost that they would allow for there to be so many billionaires. Very naive thought. I'm dumb. I get it. No, I don't think, I think that this is a, this was like a conscious development of.
Starting point is 00:29:10 China to like, like, uh, capitalize the oligarchs. And now they're like, now they can participate fully in like being becoming billionaires. Aren't there only like 2,000 billionaires in the world? Don't say that, bro. I think there are more. I think there are more. There's more in Chongqing, China. Is there just 2000 in America? There are 3,000, 3,000, 428 in the world. That's so, I mean, you know, Roan, you're probably on to something about that, uh, about them like maybe maybe the a lot of the Chinese billionaires are connected to the state somehow
Starting point is 00:29:46 definitely but Jack Ma I don't the guy from Alibaba yeah he I mean he's up there kid kidnapped or no his kid someone got kidnapped but he also has a kid that goes to NYU makes sense of being a billionaire in New York it's a Disney show I'll watch
Starting point is 00:30:01 is that a chopstick chopstick got it no chopsticks here show have you ever even tried to use them Once. How to go? Not very good. What did you try to eat?
Starting point is 00:30:14 Noodles? Rice. Rice. Takes a while. That seems. Yeah, you had to eat one at a time? Like fried rice? No.
Starting point is 00:30:21 When they cook rice over there, it's sticky. It's, yeah, you can get. It clumps. It's like wet snow. Yeah, yeah, of course. Spoon. Works perfect. Yeah, that spoon gets it done for me.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Fuck a chopstick. Yeah, it doesn't have to be sticky rice. I can eat whatever rice I want. Right. Freedom is what we call that. Yeah. Here in America. They're eating soups with chopsticks over there.
Starting point is 00:30:40 It's brutal. One drop at a time. You should just brought your own fork from home. You just used it everywhere. Chopsticks? No, a fork. Right. I'm with Francis.
Starting point is 00:30:54 I'm not going to go. I like worked on my chopsticks before I went over there because I didn't want to be like this American. And maybe it's insecure, but to be this American cliche of a guy who's like, let me have my fork. It is. It is insecure.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Yeah. Yeah. Wow, you like that. Well, I just admitted I'm insecure. Why? Because I'm trying to... Because they want to go to countries and be like the tourists that like no one notices. Like, they're like, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Bro, I'm not going to get unnoticed in fucking Asia. Those guys are so naturally cool. No one's going to think I'm from Japan. No one's going to mistake me as a Japanese. They could. I mean, it's not going to happen. There's no chance. That's even more reason to use a fucking fork.
Starting point is 00:31:40 Exactly. We're not bridging the gap no matter what. We might as well just be true to who we are. Yeah. Have you ever heard of the phrase when in Rome? Yeah, but you're not in Rome. You're in Japan. No, you're right.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Listen, I went over there, Jaywell, you'll like this. And I wore all my best Confederate flag shirts. Every day. Confederate flag. What would make you think that I would like that? Well, you said, don't try to assimilate to their culture. don't give them what they want and the most American thing I could think to wear
Starting point is 00:32:12 was the Union Jack really I wouldn't even know what that is if you went over there they're just like how fucking dog this guy looks no they were not offended no way they didn't even probably don't know what it is no no they didn't
Starting point is 00:32:28 somebody went to a rough and rowdy one time in a Confederate flag shirt the boxing competitions that we had in West Virginia there was like someone in the crowd that was just wearing like a Confederate flag sweatshirt and whoever was doing the sideline reporting was like, you know that West Virginia fought for the Union, right? Like, West Virginia was never in the Confederacy.
Starting point is 00:32:48 I think a lot of people mix West Virginia up when it comes and stuff like that. Yeah. You guys hate slavery. My God, dude. I'm such an idiot. I knew this was wrong. The Union Jack is not the fucking Confederate flag. It's the British flag.
Starting point is 00:33:00 What's the name of the... You're in Japan wearing British gear? No wonder no one was offended. We're in a red coat. This is what happens when you sleep to 11.5 a.m. Yeah, your brain wasn't prepared. Yeah, you didn't know time to research. The Jolly Roger is the pirate one.
Starting point is 00:33:17 The Union Jack is the British one. I wouldn't wear a sweatshirt with any flag. Like, if that was like the whole sweatshirt was the pattern of a flag. I agree. Not my style. I think it's swaggy. I think a U.S. flag sweatshirt is sick. Yeah, you got a lot of those?
Starting point is 00:33:34 I have a battle against Blizzard where I wore the U.S. flag going against the British. guy. I went into England doing it. Like one of those. Can you pull up Roan against Roan versus Blizzard? Just a,
Starting point is 00:33:46 even just a still shot will show you that I went into England wearing this shit. I thought you were dressed up as it ain't coming up. Don't put some mud on my fucking name. And it looks like you're wearing a black t-shirt.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Do you ever look back at these videos from? Look, look, full American flag sweatshirt. Yeah, I wouldn't wear that. No, no. I wouldn't wear that. In England? And nowhere.
Starting point is 00:34:13 I wouldn't wear that in my apartment. Not even on the Fourth of July? Not even in my casket. Oh, wow. This is a performance. I'm going in England representing the United States. Would you wear the Team USA jersey if you were playing against Serbia and basketball? With my number on it?
Starting point is 00:34:28 Yeah. And my teammates had it on to them? Yeah. I would never go in Nordstroms or anywhere and pick that off the rock. Yeah, this is the one. I just wouldn't. No, neither. Right?
Starting point is 00:34:38 No, there's not a single flag that I could get me to wear that. No, this is a nice, this is a nice sweatshirt and it was patriotic and it was going on to their territory, repping my team. And I just didn't take you as an America hater, Jay Will. The Blizzard smoked you in this. No, I won 5-0. Didn't Blizzard like, what happened with him? Put on a bunch of weight.
Starting point is 00:34:59 That's what it was. Because I went to his Instagram. Yeah. And I was like, holy shit. Were you going to ask my friend friends? He doesn't look the same as he looked when he was 19. I was going to. to ask if you ever watch these videos back
Starting point is 00:35:12 and like thank thank goodness that you don't have to do it anymore only in that like if this this looks like such high pressure that if there's a part of you that's like relieved not to have to go into that anymore so so nice
Starting point is 00:35:28 not to have to do it not just the pressure of the I don't mind the pressure of the scenario it's the pressure of like having to fucking book 12 of these in a year to make like $35,000 that's terrible Yeah. It is like, I mean, I feel like you can, like, people compare it to stand up in like the way that you're trying to like get a reaction out of people live on stage. But you never do a set of stand up and lose, you know? It's not like you ever on your way home. You're like, I lost tonight. I got embarrassed. I definitely had that feeling. I'm a bombing, but it's not like you like this, you actually lose. Yeah. Like you would like you could have flown to Europe and lost. Yeah. That happened once. I, I've battled a guy named. youth oracle in London.
Starting point is 00:36:12 And I went out the night before and I got drunk and I knew my shit like I was saying it drunk. Oh yeah. I was so hung over. I forgot everything. I had to fly back. I missed my flight back from London after I'd lost a rap battle. Do you get any money if you lose? I think I got paid like $1,200 total flat rate.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Not terrible. No, it's not good. Flat rate. It's not terrible for how long or like 10 years ago? No. It's not like the, that's the, that's the, that's, This isn't like the Vanderbilt's bought a mansion for $1,200. This was 12 years ago.
Starting point is 00:36:49 I mean, I feel like I've flown to gigs and walked away losing money. Yeah, but you didn't have to. I'm on the way home and I'm like, I'm down. But you didn't have to. That happened to me a lot. By definition, a waste of time. That happened to me for the first four years I was headlining. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:05 But you guys could at least do the same material. I wrote the material just for that trip. Yeah, that's true. You can take the material somewhere else and be like, okay, I had a bad day. I'm going to go refurbish it. Did you guys actually lose money? It just felt like you lost. There were times where I've actually lost money.
Starting point is 00:37:21 There are times where I've come away from a weekend down. There was a weekend back to back where I had to go to Vegas and then I had to go to Portland. And on that two week stretch, I lost like $2,000. Okay. But what he's not saying is that you brought your own opener, right? Well, yeah. Yeah, how'd you lose it? What'd you have to spend it on?
Starting point is 00:37:39 So he's paying for the flight of his opener. Gotcha. And then he's and then he's paying for his hotel too. You got two hotel rooms from the club? Yeah. That comes out of your settlement though. We pay for that. So my point is you, you, you, I'm not taking anything away.
Starting point is 00:37:57 You're generous. It's just like if you had gone as bare bones as possible. Yeah. You wouldn't, maybe you would have come out even. I don't know. Some of those clubs, I'm not going to say which one specifically, but five shows. was the guarantee is like the cost of the flight there. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:38:13 Yeah, but they build in a travel buyout, no? Not, not some of them. So why would you want to protect these clubs that are clearly dicking you guys? Because some of them are really good. You go back, the next time you go back, if you perform while they give you a better deal. I also just wouldn't go back to. By having a shit deal on the front. I probably don't have any plans to do a weekend in Portland anytime soon.
Starting point is 00:38:35 You know? Yeah, true. It's a great city. Great city, I do. just don't sell a lot of tickets out there. They don't know you yet, and they will. Oh, maybe. No, they definitely will.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Can you imagine that if you had to go to a fucking NBA game and then you lost money? Like, yeah, I'm actually down this week. That'd be horrible. Fuck. Did you ever do the math or did they ever do the math for you and say, like, this is literally what you make per game? No. No?
Starting point is 00:39:04 Me personally? We could do it right now. We could do career earnings versus game. played but it's always different at different times like for i i know in i know in like the premier league they always do that they always seem to have the number it's like 300 000 like way roney is making this many stars the stars they do that too you know like cam newton like he has that what he had that clip where he was talking about uh like every game he played no matter what if they won or lost he got like a million dollars in this bank account that's amazing j well you made 70,639
Starting point is 00:39:38 for every regular season game of your 12 season career. And you don't think that earns four baths a day. I think you could have four different baths in your home in which you could switch like pepods. Yeah. I may have that. That's how. I may. Like a music artist getting $70,000 for one night is like you're like one of the best in the fucking.
Starting point is 00:40:07 I mean, I guess you are the best in the world, but like you're the headlining act if you're getting $70,000 a night. Like, that's an insane take home. And you were getting that every night for fucking 12 years. Do the same thing for LeBron James. No, no.
Starting point is 00:40:22 I mean, yeah, it's crazy. And they do, you're right. For the stars, they do like the down to the second thing. What's this? Watch this. What's this? $358,000. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:34 Whether he plays or not. That seems weird to me because that means that he made five times more than you did per game. Respectfully, I would have thought it was more because LeBron is like a billionaire at least. Oh, yeah. But I guess is he? His career earnings in basketball are $581 million. But I mean, all of his other ventures on the side. I think he's made a billion from Nike already.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Yeah. That's crazy. That's so nice. I can't, I mean, he could just buy like a mid-level house in like middle America for every night that he plays. He could even get an apartment in Philly. There's nothing. There's nothing financially irresponsible that LeBron James could do. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:41:22 There's nothing. Yeah. I mean, he should get a place in Philly because those helicopter rides look very sketchy. Yeah. What do you think about that? The other part of that is like, I saw that simulation. Yeah, yeah. It's like they had it flying through like buildings and shit.
Starting point is 00:41:39 It's like they took it. They took the simulation through fucking, you know, the Corengal Valley for him to get to Philly. It is cool, though, because every time I see a helicopter now, I just assume it's LeBron. Right. I'm like, holy shit. That's LeBron. It could not be LeBron very easily. That'd be sweet.
Starting point is 00:41:56 We'd do, right? Yeah. If you could do it. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, no. If I could do it, I would not do it. Oh, you're scared of helicopter?
Starting point is 00:42:01 Yeah, yeah, no shot. I would just drop. It's like an hour and a half. Really? Yeah. Chopper's only cutting you down like half the time. We always get these headlines now about helicopters crashing into the East River in the Hudson.
Starting point is 00:42:16 He's saying that he's not scared of it. He said, you'll eat the raccoon or the asshole of a raccoon. You won't find a helicopter. I was like, yeah, helicopters are scary. Helicopters are unstable, unregulated, just a random guy sitting up there. Two. Not always.
Starting point is 00:42:33 No, man, I'm on this, too. Oh, you only go on the... Well, I would never get on one pilot. Hell no. Some of us can't afford the two pilot helicopter. Well, I can't afford the two pilot helicopter either. I'm with someone else. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:44 I'm not afforded no helicopters. What's the longest helicopter ride you've taken? Probably like two hours. What? Like, I don't like that at all. Like Orlando to Hilton Head. What? How long of a drive would that be?
Starting point is 00:42:56 Probably five and a half, six, maybe. Just take a flight, bro. A helicopter. It was dope, though. It was like... Like the pilot would go dive down there to beach. My fuckers was waving at it. It's like,
Starting point is 00:43:10 yeah. South Georgia's a show like that at all. That sounds horrifying. There's alligators like 15, 16 feet long, though. So if you go down, there's like no chance of survival? Yeah, you're going to die in a horrific way. I survived the crash. Oh my God, there's a 16-foot alligator next to me.
Starting point is 00:43:29 I'm very badly burned. Yeah, that would be terrible. Black Hawk downing it. In Black Hawk Down, do they survive the helicopter crash? No. Yeah, I think I think most of them do. No. There's a helicopter that explodes.
Starting point is 00:43:50 There's two helicopters that crash in Black Hawk Down. Yeah. Right? And one of them people live, but the other one, it's like, that's what I ask. Evaporated. Oh, is that right? I think so, right? Then I must have been thinking of the one of them people live.
Starting point is 00:44:02 So he's saying, I said, do people live? Do people live in the helicopter crash? And you just said, yes, and one of them people live. There's one that's shot down by a rocket launcher. RPG, yeah. Which they definitely did not live. Tyler, we're going to need to see. How many souls were lost in Black Hawk Down?
Starting point is 00:44:20 That's not the question. No, no, that's not the question. How many souls on board? Did anyone die? Did anyone die during? No, we need to know, did the helicopter crash? in Blackhawk down result in the full death of the crew or whatever. Yeah, that's the only way to find out because those scenes, I mean, it takes up the whole movie.
Starting point is 00:44:47 Not all crashes resulted in deaths. See? We got way too specific. Now they're just talking about Blackhawks in general. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, go down. It says it. While pilots and some crew members were killed are severely injured in the initial impacts and ensuing ground battles. several crew members and defenders survived the crashes both crashes and we're later rescued
Starting point is 00:45:10 interesting boom yeah who would have thought well okay that I guess yeah then maybe LeBron should be in a helicopter flying over yeah is he flying in a black hawk? They got him in a black hawk they got him in a black hawk yeah yeah I'm happy for LeBron's no me too of course course it's a shame you guys won't pay him though. It feels weird. He doesn't want, he doesn't want Philadelphia's money. He doesn't want to pay taxes. It sounds like he doesn't want anything to do with Philadelphia. To be honest.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Except for to play for a basketball team, wear our colors. Yeah. We're our jersey. He's probably going to have his own jersey. Difficol. Yeah, yeah. Red, red quarterback jersey.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Don't touch him. Soccer goalie. He deserves it. Don't touch LeBron. He's 100. He does deserve it. I would be fine with it. I mean, you need something because that Eagles team is done.
Starting point is 00:46:03 You're dumb, bro. That was the right move to trade Cam Durgan. That eagle team is dead. I mean, this is coming out on Monday. You're going to have Saquan playing O-1? And after we just beat the Jaguars, I can't believe that you're saying that. After we just beat the Jaguars in London, I can't believe you're saying that. You know you didn't beat the Jaguars in London?
Starting point is 00:46:20 Of course we did. We shocked the world. And everyone was proud of it. First of all, London is like the Jaguars like home facility. Like, that's like they like they like they like to play one. That's fine. No, they genuinely do. And we went and stole one.
Starting point is 00:46:33 play a ton of games in London for some reason. I think the owner has a house that's a house. Yeah, their owner likes it. Shod Khan. Yeah. So you're, you're not gonna win. We're going into enemy territory and we're stealing one. You lost. We're in the... You lost two
Starting point is 00:46:47 games. Your season's over. You were just talking about the 28 and 29 picks that y'all got in the trade. Oh, well, now we could, we have before the trade deadline. Yeah. If you're already talking draft picks. I don't think you make the playoffs. Yeah. What, bro? Now we have this thing in the locker room because we're three and two now where it's
Starting point is 00:47:03 Nobody believes in us but us. And like, only the guys in this room believe in us. And that's a good place to be. Are you all taking Rocky over to London with you all? That's what you're going to do. The thing with the Eagles is like, you can't have this whole, like, that whole attitude of, like, the only people that believe in us is us. When your dogs run faster. Like, that works.
Starting point is 00:47:22 That's what losers do. Yeah, that's what losers do. And that works when you have A.J. Brown and Devante Smith and Seikwan and all these guys are the peaks of their career. Now you don't have A.J. Brown. Devante Smith's hurt. You have no O line. Jalen hurts. I mean, he's going to be selling insurance in the next couple of weeks.
Starting point is 00:47:38 Dude, your coach broke like six of the ten commanders. Your coach is a fundamentally evil guy. And Jake, and Seekwon is a shell of the man that he used to be. A shell. I don't think that you really have the band with the Giants were thinking long term when they gave you guys Seekwon. They're like, he's only got one good season. He's only going to get one championship. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:58 He's only going to get one ring. You guys are done. Don't even say that. We're three and two right now. Luckily, the Patriots advanced to three and two. Who did you guys beat this weekend? The Raiders. No way, you got to beat the Raiders.
Starting point is 00:48:12 It was a big win. No chance that happened. Big upset. This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Starting point is 00:49:33 Vikings. Really? I like that. It's a solid program. They run over there. Not bad. One of the best training facilities in the league. They just saw O'Dell Beckham Jr. I just saw that. I saw that. What do you think of that? Love it.
Starting point is 00:49:46 I don't know if he's going to do much, but it seems like a nice guy. Yeah. Do you think it's weird that he wears Botox as a grown man? I mean, look, he's earned it. Francis, what do you think about that? I didn't know that. Odell Beckham Jr. Botox. I mean, he earned it.
Starting point is 00:50:03 It's just like four baths. What the fuck? Exactly. Whatever you want to do, you do. This is Francis's question. Francis, do you think that it's appropriate that he's drowned his face in Botox? I think he's kind of this new, I don't really know how to describe him. He's like a precursor to Caleb Williams.
Starting point is 00:50:20 He's kind of like, yeah, maybe, maybe, maybe they're right. That's right, yeah. He doesn't quite paint his nails, but he's like a footballing metrosexual. What if he gets Botox for medical reasons? Yeah. What if Caleb Williams paints his nails for medical reasons? Caleb Williams doesn't paint his nails anymore. Yeah, no one paints their nails for medical reason. No one gets Botox. Yeah, they do. People get it for like migraines and headaches and shit. Yeah, he got it in his cheeks for the mindings.
Starting point is 00:50:48 Get my crow's feet for my migraines. Did he really get Botox? Look at him. What are you talking about? His face looks like fucking glass. Do you think if he knew that they were going to cut him after week four? that he would have done that dance in week one? Yeah, no, he wouldn't have done it. But he probably thought he's back for the long term, right? I mean, I feel like if you're hitting that dance,
Starting point is 00:51:14 why did they get rid of it, did they say? They did, and I don't think he played once. Yeah, I think that they were playing. He caught a ball. They were playing the young guys. So why he was signed him for a practice player? Well, he made the roster. They're probably giving him a shit ton of money.
Starting point is 00:51:28 Yeah, he wasn't. They have Malik neighbors. They didn't know if he was going to be held. he wound up being healthy. They got, they drafted Malachi Fields. There's some other young guys over there. Where was,
Starting point is 00:51:37 where was O'Dell before? Was he on the Ravens last year? Was he? I don't know if he was in the league last year, but he was on the Ravens before that, Rams before that. The Giants are Francis's team. Oh yeah?
Starting point is 00:51:50 Francis. Oh. Love it. He looked in here. Are you really a Giants fan? Yeah. Yeah. Why?
Starting point is 00:52:01 My whole family's from New Jersey. That's where they started on the Underground Railroad. Yeah. By that point, it's above ground. It came out of the day and unlocked the tunnel. Yeah. They kind of ascended to the ground level. We moved to Maine when I was three years old.
Starting point is 00:52:19 So both my folks are from New Jersey and my dad is diehard Giants fan. So, you know. Does he like James Winston? He is really positive about whatever seems to be happened. I don't know. You know, I look at the team right now and I'm like, this is a ship that has a thousand holes in it. And everyone's still just partying on the deck because somehow we've like flopped our way to three and one head of leading the NFC East. But it's only a matter of time before.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Just like the Vikings only matter. The reality sets in. I mean, I don't think that this is a team that can continue to win. I don't know. You guys got a pretty solid roster, pretty complete. Well, the Giants. Yeah, but like... Our quarterback situation is...
Starting point is 00:53:06 Their defense is good, though. A cartoon. Yeah. And... James should probably retire. We've lost some pretty key players to injury. When's Jackson Dark coming? Oh, no, he's done for the season.
Starting point is 00:53:16 Done for the season. That's so dumb. Surgery. I think so. Yeah. It's so crazy, like, having to, like, figure out how to not be a psycho sports fan in front of your kids. Because, like, it would just be inappropriate
Starting point is 00:53:31 if I was in a bad mood for six hours after the Eagles lost and my kids are like running around the house all like happy having no idea that sports are on but like for the rest of my for like all my life leading up to that that's how I'd act I'd be a fucking petulant child if my team lost and like be in a bad mood but like you just can't you you have to give that up well this is why I don't watch sports or take that much of an emotion an emotional investment in them why is because I have enough things that make me that way already. Like going to Japan the wrong way. Going backwards to Japan. Taking taking the incorrect attitude to Japan. Yeah, I would say football, like usually my day starts good and then by the end of it, I'm in that's like the worst mood I've ever been in. Like by 8pm,
Starting point is 00:54:15 I'm furious every Sunday. Doesn't that happen a lot of days though? No, never. Mostly Sundays. Only on Sunday. I bet your fucking professional athlete ass has never even experienced that feeling. Well, I mean, no, I'm never mad by 8 p.m. on Sunday, ever. You're asleep. Or like watching a team, I guess maybe Texas Tech softball. You say you watch them lose. You're probably fucking like, how the fuck. Not one bit, right?
Starting point is 00:54:43 Really? No? Is there any team outside of a team you've played on that's made you upset that they, like, ruin your day that they lost? Nothing. Nothing will make me ruin my day that I can't control. Really? Nothing. You're a pretty Zen guy.
Starting point is 00:54:57 Is that me? Then at peace, you're balanced. I mean, I get riled up a little bit, but not over some silly shit like that. The one thing that you told me, which I found, this has stuck with me, is that you have a deep worry about your children. Oh, yeah, I worry about them all. And you told me, and we can cut this if you don't want me to say it, but you told me that nothing would make you happier than if they were to live with you for the rest of your life. Oh, that'd be great. Of your life.
Starting point is 00:55:23 They'd have to change and tweak some things about their life. Sure. I wouldn't mind that at all A lot of parents want their kids You know There's a little bit of a stigma About kids moving back in with their parents Right
Starting point is 00:55:37 Right You want that I'm cool with that Yeah I like that I thought that was really charming I'm cool with that And I wasn't trying to charm or anything
Starting point is 00:55:44 But I know Yeah We're not like that But I just feel like I don't know I feel like if I can touch them And see them Yeah
Starting point is 00:55:51 I'd worry about them Yeah Yeah that makes sense Yeah Yeah that's a nice feeling Just like, like a compound, are you saying? Like you want to have or under the same exact roof. Like, do you want the roof?
Starting point is 00:56:04 It's a roof. Yeah, under the same roof. Roof. Roof. Yeah. Under the same roof. Yeah, we've been under the same roof for 18, 20 years now anyway. Yeah, that would be great. Yeah, it's weird to think about because I'm like, now with my case, I'm like, yeah, I'd never want them out of my site.
Starting point is 00:56:19 That'd be so awesome. But then with my parents, I'm like, oh, I don't probably give them the same energy. That's why I like going to London I'm looking forward to hanging out with my parents You know that happened this past weekend Of course Of course You and your parents got to watch the Eagles lose together
Starting point is 00:56:32 That didn't happen I'm gonna do it again next week They like it so much It's a tradition in our household Okay We grew up losing my whole fucking life Now we can finally win a little bit I can go back to losing
Starting point is 00:56:45 Don't you think it's weird though That the Eagles are so bad now But the Chiefs are still so good Because I have Andy Reid Former coach of the Eagles bro If it runs deep than that. Anything for Big Red, we root for Andy in our house. I think got nothing to do with Patrick Mahomes.
Starting point is 00:56:59 No, it's all Andy. All Andy. Andy would win with anybody, bro. I like you guys. What do you mean? He went to five NFC championship games with us. He ran any? Two of them, or one of them.
Starting point is 00:57:11 One of them. And then we lost to the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Oh, my God. That's humiliating. You weren't a lot. It's 2004. You were two years old, fucking rolling around. Three.
Starting point is 00:57:21 Not in January. Dumbass. dumb ass God doesn't even know his own birthday you morally decrepit dumbass I'm about to have to get them presence in London because Francis got such nice presence in Japan
Starting point is 00:57:34 I'm already really stressing over it I'm like looking up how much that LL bean sweatshirture costs so I hit a price point that's a little bit higher than what Francis said I just want to spend a little bit more than you oh boy please don't I looked up that fragrance I told you about and I was like I'm going to have to take that back because
Starting point is 00:57:52 Tell me what it is because I don't want to have to go back and look it up I'm hopeful if I mean You know you You can't get the full bottle I got you the 50 mil Right right right right Which is like the half size I could spoil you how much is the full
Starting point is 00:58:08 I don't know what's it called again I don't even want to say Just fucking say it You say it on the last episode I don't want him to go get it I'm not going to get it You already said it on the pod It's the ex-Nahilo
Starting point is 00:58:21 fucking E-X space N-I-H-I-O and it's the Herod's exclusive Is this Cologne? Yeah. Yeah, that's it. Brompton Immortals.
Starting point is 00:58:37 Five hundred. I thought it was going to be like $10,000. Oh, look, there's a different price. Old Spice got like four or five different deals. That's what I use, too. Fiji. But I bet they have a half size of this. These guys.
Starting point is 00:58:47 I don't know. That's too much money. That's why I said I would ban on you. I can't. you get. No, that would be so nice. I got to get the her. It's and that would fit perfectly. I left some space in my bag. But if I'm gifting everybody something, just make it easy. What do you want? I don't want anything. You just bought a keyboard. Yeah, no, don't make me guess. Oh, no, I don't want anything. Don't make me just say anything. I'm not making you to say anything. I don't want.
Starting point is 00:59:12 I don't want any easier on me. If I'm going to spend fucking $465 on you, just make it a little You're not spending $400. I don't, there's nothing I want or need. I have everything. Say something. something or I'm going to buy you that fucking NASA jacket. I don't want the NASA jacket. I don't want anything. I definitely don't want any sense. Okay, I'm not going to bring you any sense. Not really my thing.
Starting point is 00:59:32 You don't got no sense anyway, bro. No offense. It's not really my sense. I already know that about you, bro. Now, there's really nothing I want. Maybe like a t-shirt or something that says, like, I hurt London. Like, I wouldn't call it. Black.
Starting point is 00:59:48 You don't want a American Flag sweater? No, yeah. I'll do one of those. those too. Get the American flag sweater. They have any like funny like Boston Tea Party shirts? Get the Union Jack. No, I don't want that.
Starting point is 00:59:58 I'll get you something on the Union Jack. You'd wear it, right? No, I don't want the fucking Confederate flag on anything I'm wearing. It's the England flag. Yeah, but if it's that easily mixed up I don't want the other one. Just a different shade of blue.
Starting point is 01:00:11 It's the same shit. It's like light blue versus dark blue. So why is it so expensive? Because it smells so damn. The brand is expensive. and then they did a Herod's exclusive. Harrod's is that big fancy department store in London. But bigger and cooler, to be honest.
Starting point is 01:00:30 Yeah. It's better. It's better than Macy's. What do you want me to bring you back? Jay Will some faggots. No, I'm good. Some frozen faggots. Oatmeal cream pies.
Starting point is 01:00:42 Okay. Do they have them over there? Not sure. I'll do some oatmeal cream pies too. If you're going to make an order. Yeah. Well, pick. Do you want the Union Jack sweater or do you want the oatmeal cream pies?
Starting point is 01:00:52 I'd much rather have oatmeal cream pies. What are they? Little, little Susie's? Yeah. Yeah. Little Debbie's. Little Debbie's. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:59 No, they're an American import. You can get them here. Now, but we want them in London. They don't have them. They don't have London. They don't have a British version one. They don't need the British version. We want the American version.
Starting point is 01:01:12 Exactly. It's like I don't want fucking, uh, uh, uh, Wagyu beef. No. Chop, yeah. A fork. Yeah. Why don't you bring?
Starting point is 01:01:20 me and Jay Will Beck 10 piece of nuggets from McDonald's and some little Debbie's oatmeal cream. There we go. I got a suggestion round for Harry because I've thought about this before. You could get him a nice newsboy cap, right? From some cool British brand because when he dresses up, he wears a newsboy cap. Occasionally. Yeah, or when he's out. Time to time.
Starting point is 01:01:44 I think it's cool. I'm not making fun at all. Whenever you sell the evening edition, you wear it too. whenever you hit him with the extra extra read all about it you're also always wearing the newsboy cap two gun down in Times Square shooting
Starting point is 01:01:58 read all about it would be parliament bomber set to hang fire in the old textile factory read all about it maybe like some like a maybe a book about like Jack the Ripper
Starting point is 01:02:16 oh okay that could be fun that would be good But it's got to be a $500 book. Well, now you're talking about a gigantic coffee book that he's going to have to bring home in his suitcase, which is a lot to ask. Yeah, a volume. I do have more than 100 milliliters. I budgeted room for this, for this big volume in the suitcase. I don't even know what to fucking wear.
Starting point is 01:02:37 You like cigars? Not like that. How about a Churchill? I was going to say bring him a couple of churchills. I'll take them. Yeah, that works. Would you? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:46 If I brought you three churchels. Oh, you would? So you wouldn't smoke. them with us. Hell no. If it was my gift to you, you wouldn't smoke them with me. No, I would. The key to buying gifts for Harry is, uh, you just have to know that whatever you're getting
Starting point is 01:02:59 him is going straight into the pile. Yeah. Cigars, fucking flags. It doesn't matter. Yeah. Yeah, cash. He's like a disdain for any gift even if it's useful. I just got him that keyboard and he shoved it into his backpack.
Starting point is 01:03:13 That's not true at all. I bought that in your backpack. I bought that keyboard myself. I heard from that on Christmas. Day, Harry does not show face until 6 p.m. At which point, all of the family's gifts have been opened and his are just in a pile in the corner for him to open once it's dark out. Yeah, so everybody can watch him.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Yeah. So everybody can focus. Creamy clicks. I'm like a virgin when it comes to a keyboard like that. Very creamy. You never had a typing class? Give Francis a taste. Well, come on.
Starting point is 01:03:48 Don't be doing that. It's expensive. It's actually not. What does it work? That was like 80 bucks. Really? Yeah, not that bad. You just said it was expensive.
Starting point is 01:03:59 I know. And then I said actually it wasn't that much. Francis, what's your opinion on Winston Churchill, the man? Because Charlie Kirk said he's the greatest man of the 20th century. Yeah, I think that's a pretty common. Charlie said that? Kirk said that. I mean, you know, he's the guy.
Starting point is 01:04:14 It doesn't seem. Come on. I haven't begun my, like, Churchill phase of life. I haven't I haven't I haven't that hasn't found me yet. I think that's another couple years right I've been doing World War one yeah you're just still an archduke friend for the name well I was gonna say I've been doing the Confederate war but that can't be true given that I completely confused the British flag for the
Starting point is 01:04:39 Confederate flag yeah where that shows your opinion on World War I who the good guys were there you go yeah yeah I think this weekend could start my love affair with Winston Churchill. Yeah, there's so many books have been written about him. It did start your love affair. Oh, I did. And now I'm in love with him. And I'm going to give you the cigars on Thursday.
Starting point is 01:04:59 Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm plumped for him. Yeah. Fuck. The last lion. I think that was the one that was written by the guy who did in the Garden of Beasts, which is great. They said that Winston Churchill, can you look up his drinking schedule? Because I'm pretty sure that he would have like a tall glass of rum before his feet
Starting point is 01:05:18 hit the floor in the morning. Yeah. He was like the drunkest human being. 7.30, wake up, read the papers. First week whiskey and soda. Just he called it his mouthwash alongside breakfast. And then by 11 o'clock he was in the garden, having a sip of another weak whiskey. By 1 o'clock, he was a multi-course lunch with a full pint or a bottle of champagne.
Starting point is 01:05:43 Paul Roger champagne. Oh, my God. Sounds great. And a glass of cognac or brandy. To wash it. down. 3.30, he had another glass of cognac, followed by more whiskey before bed. And then he would take a one and a half hour nap at five o'clock before he'd wake up and then have another whiskey.
Starting point is 01:05:59 This is like Hunter S. Thompson shit. This is fucking insane. Another pint of champagne, a pint of champagne, an important brandy at eight. And then at midnight or two o'clock, he would have more fucking cognac. Legend. That's like what everyone was doing back then, though, right? No. that's overkill.
Starting point is 01:06:20 Sounds perfect. Sounds like he had it down to a perfect routine. Down to like exactly when he's napping at five. It's like Andre the Giant's eating schedule. And you got to keep in mind these are weak whiskeys. Yeah. This is like Jay Will, Jay Will do your blunt schedule compared to this.
Starting point is 01:06:36 Oh, who, I don't even know who fuck y'all are talking about. I'm not so sure. What's happening here? Are you, Are you awake up and you're smoking right when you wake up? Or do you like to ease in? No, I get straight to it.
Starting point is 01:06:52 Get straight to it. I love that. Jaywell doesn't really sleep. Oh, really? Not much. How many hours? Not like y'all. Not like these fucking bombs.
Starting point is 01:07:04 How many hours are you getting a night? Oh, about five, six, man. But you said you kind of do like a series of naps. Yeah, it's not like six straight ever. I think that's how it used to be. Never. Ever. Not even never in your life. Oh, I have before.
Starting point is 01:07:19 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not anymore, though. But you gave that shit up. I think it used to be like you would sleep for a little bit, wake up for a little bit, and then sleep for a little bit. I think like the eight hours of sleep. I don't know. That's like the industrial revolution or some shit like that. I used to sleep like these guys.
Starting point is 01:07:35 Yeah, yeah. Not anymore. That was before you got your life together. Right. Yeah. Right. Now that weed is no longer a problem in the NBA, right? I don't think it is.
Starting point is 01:07:43 No, I mean, guys are very open about it. KD is perpetually high. And it's, and is open about that. Yes, yes, yes. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. What are you giggling at? Is there a guy who has a reputation in the NBA as being like the best weed guy?
Starting point is 01:08:03 Like, what do you mean the best weed guy? Like the guy who can smoke the most? Smoke the most. Like the Snoop Dog or the Wiz Khalifa of the NBA. Yeah, I don't know. know who that would be. I'm not sure. I'm never. Jair Smith. I've never. There we go. Yeah. I feel like that would be scary. To be with like 20,000 people watching just fucking high as shit. I mean, he's not like, that's not like he took a little edible. That's like he hit the bong. I don't, he hit the glass. I don't know how he could still be that high during the game. Yeah, right. I don't understand that. He might have re-upped at halftime. That's not marijuana. I don't.
Starting point is 01:08:43 old thing. Can't be. I remember, did you ever see that Netflix special of Earthquake? No, no. It's really good. Comedian? Yeah. It was produced by Chappelle and Chappelle before it began, did sort of a preamble about it.
Starting point is 01:08:58 He's on stage introducing earthquake and or it was like in a different room. And he, he's like, the first time I met this guy was in a green room for comedy. And he was rolling up blunts one after another. like a master. Earthquake. Yeah, that's what Chappelle said and that stuck with me. Like a master.
Starting point is 01:09:17 Like a master. Like a master. One after another, smoke one after blunt, is that's seen as a sign of mastery. Well, at a certain point, you're not really getting any higher. That's what I think. Yeah. Kind of just neutral.
Starting point is 01:09:30 Just like buddy wasn't getting drunk no more. Yeah. He was already where he needed to be. Yeah. Because he was where he was at 7 a.m. Yeah. Maintained, yeah. He was worried about getting sober.
Starting point is 01:09:38 Yeah. He's worried about not being drunk. Yeah. He's not getting more drunk. Might just need more of a habit. Yeah. Just used to drinking all that. Right.
Starting point is 01:09:45 Yeah. People do say that like that was like a root song like talking about master your high. People do you are supposed to master your high. But I don't think that's being a master of rolling. Do you want to be in control? Just being in control. Yeah. Not being a spas when you get high as fuck.
Starting point is 01:09:59 Not letting your thoughts run away with you and watching yourself in the mirror from two inches away for 45 minutes straight, thinking about something that happened in middle school. I mean, I feel like that just comes from people like people. I feel like people when they smoke. weed for like the first time they smoke weed like they like if you go out drinking with people that drink a lot you're not going to try to keep up drinking with those people you know what I mean like if you went out if I went out I haven't drank in a while if I went out with Shane I'm not going to be drinking the same amount of beers as Shane right right but like if you went and smoked weed with someone you just
Starting point is 01:10:30 smoke people smoke weed like like it's the like they smoke weed all the time every time then they're like oh my God I hate weed and it's like well you just smoke the amount that you smoke and you've never smoked weed before. Right. I feel like people are just constantly overdosing. Yeah. They're putting like 450 pounds on the bar trying to bench press it. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:10:52 And then they're confused why they're anxious. And it's like, well, you just took a fucking hero dose. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's a nasty feeling. But I think Jay Will have to be up there. I don't know if that's nasty to say of me, but you have to be up there in one of the, like, their master.
Starting point is 01:11:09 Snoop dog of Snoop. of Snoop Dog of the NBA. You're a master of it, yeah. Well, I appreciate that. Don't you think? I mean, I don't know. I'm not counting. Yeah, which makes it even cooler, you know?
Starting point is 01:11:20 You're not competing with anybody. Because it probably is someone in the NBA that is counting. Right. For sure. And they're like, well, I've been high way more times than you've been high for games. Just getting them weird arguments. I just don't know how anybody could, I don't know how anybody could be high during a game. No, I have no idea.
Starting point is 01:11:35 Unless they're smoking. You never played like pickup football high or like some shit. like that you never played any sport high it's probably safe to say it i've done everything in life high at one time in my life but like the game starts at seven you got to be at the gym at four oh you're just saying there's no place to do it like yeah how would you still be high that's true their half life of marijuana is only about two hours hmm you only get high you don't get you know what I mean you don't get high for more than two hours you smoke weed you'll be on high in two hours yeah right no no
Starting point is 01:12:10 never let it get to that never find out never hope to find out right just slip into a bathtub that's right the Coca-Cola offsets the offsets the weed
Starting point is 01:12:24 gives you a little bit of a buzz about time you get out of the tub roll one up right the friend of mine was talking about his friend that worked at maybe an Amazon warehouse and he would pour bud light and
Starting point is 01:12:37 an energy drink into the same like Stanley Cup and go to work. Oh yeah. Is that what the story was? Energy drink and a beer. Mixed together? Yeah, together. It's like having a Coca-Cola and a blunt, you know?
Starting point is 01:12:54 It is not. It is not. It sounds significantly worse. I can't imagine like the taste of an energy drink mixing with a beer. It's got to just be terrible. I wonder what wins. I bet the energy drink wins over the beer. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:13:13 Beer has got a really strong taste. That's why you can taste in like when you have like pulled pork and shit. You know, you get the alcohol taste. Like it doesn't go away. It's hard to mask. Well, if you have a really light beer.
Starting point is 01:13:25 But it's not like, I think you could, I think you would have an easier time masking the taste of like hard alcohol than you would a beer. I respectfully disagree. We'll have to test it out. How are you going to test it out with your sober? I'll have to get on sober.
Starting point is 01:13:40 I'm going to drink again just for this experiment. You're going to eat it in pulled pork. Yeah. It's probably not the best way to come back to drinking with an energy drink. Energy beer. Energy beer in my sandwich. That is going to be fantastic. God damn.
Starting point is 01:14:02 Francis, when are you going to get out on the links with Jay Will? Yeah, we've got to do that. We've been trying to make that happen. It's going to be in Florida. It's got to be in Florida in November. Let's do it. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:12 Sounds good. No, I know it is. We can't talk about it, but Jay Will and I were both participants in the Internet Invitational. How does that come out? I would think that'll come out in like a month maybe. I don't know exactly. I'm thinking November. November.
Starting point is 01:14:29 So perfect time for you guys to golf together. Yeah, you guys could do a little watch-along while you're golfing. Break down the Internet Invitational while you're playing. Oh, like a shot for. shot recreation or something like that. Oh, like a viewing party with weed. Sure. Yeah. What a smoke
Starting point is 01:14:47 along. Sure. As long as you come and mix the energy drink with the beer. Yeah, yeah, I'm down. I'm down. He's a big weed guy too, though. Big. Not as much as I am energy drink and beer. Fair. In pool, poor. It took me a full year and a half of the podcast of
Starting point is 01:15:03 constantly hitting the fact that he is a big weed guy for him to finally come to terms and admit that he's... Are you trying to keep it from folks? I'm just not like... Yeah, I feel it. I'm not counting.
Starting point is 01:15:16 I'm not keeping score. I'm a same way. Somewhere along the line, you started volunteering it. You started keeping score. You pulled out your little baseball scorecard and you started notching down every time that you hit a doobie. It doesn't sound like me. Every time you hit the glass.
Starting point is 01:15:28 Sounds like you guys. Sounds like you guys are doby watching. Don't dubie watch. Because they're sleeping all day. Exactly. Yeah. They're trying to bring us down to that level. Working in.
Starting point is 01:15:39 I should have, I should have been less, uh, aggressive in, in saying all that because you, you, you came to it on your own. And it's like, maybe if I had done that less, you would have been honest about coming out. Right. Exactly. Yeah, maybe. Maybe. Miss new doby. Yeah. Yeah. Um, so looking forward to watching that you guys do that. Looking forward to your guys, uh, game. And, uh, Jay Will. Thanks for coming on, bro. That shit was sick. I'm going to be in Columbus this weekend So please buy tickets to that See you that
Starting point is 01:16:13 Buy two Fuck one by two Yeah by two By two fuck bro Bring someone Bring a joint And bring some weed Yeah bring some weed
Starting point is 01:16:20 Yeah All right We'll see you guys on Thursday Goodbye Goodbye
