Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, culties. It's Issa here dropping back in as I do from time to time to share an exciting sneak peek into one of my latest episodes on my podcast. I'm right. You're wrong. I'm so excited to share that last week I had the privilege of interviewing New York City mayoral candidate Zoran Mamdani, who is in a very close second in the Democratic primaries taking place on June 24th. taking place on June 24th. I got to question him on his rights and wrongs of the week, rights and wrongs as a possible mayor of New York City, and of course his rapid fire rights and wrongs like whether it's right or wrong to date a finance bro or whether it's right or wrong to make out on the train. As always, the episode also includes a fun debate portion. This one's with podcast guest favorite, Lily Lester. And this episode also includes a debrief of the Zoran interview with comedian and host of the Girls Rewatch podcast, Evan Lazarus.
Starting point is 00:00:52 This is definitely an episode you don't want to miss. Watch or listen at the link below or by searching I'm Right You're Wrong on any podcasting platform. Here's a sneak peek. Evan, what did we just do? We saw God. podcasting platform. Here's a sneak peek. Evan, what did we just do? We saw God. We literally did see God.
Starting point is 00:01:10 I just interviewed the future mayor of New York City. Zoran Mamdani is running for mayor of New York City, and he's really come out of the woodworks. No, I would say so. I mean, I guess like any mayoral candidate in our eyes will come out of the woodwork. Because, I would say so. I mean, I guess like any mayoral candidate in our eyes will come out of the woodwork. Because we're not paying attention. Yeah. The way that he like would go from like laughing
Starting point is 00:01:30 and giggling to like locking in and being like, I'm gonna make New York more affordable. I was like, stop. It's very interesting, especially see someone so young, someone so passionate, someone so politically liberal and hot run for office Yeah, right cuz the thing about America is that sure you can have the no. Okay girl. Look at me Well, cuz you said soon as you said hi I was like I had been feeling really down lately,
Starting point is 00:02:05 like really hopeless. Just like a lot of bad news in the press. And then I spoke to him and he just has this like energy about me. Oh wow. I think part of the reason we are so sexually aroused by him is because we're also politically aroused. And we're completely no feelings together.
Starting point is 00:02:20 You'll listen to the interview. Ultimately, I've seen, he says interview style for a while now. You know, to the interview. Ultimately, I've seen in he says interview style for a while now You know, it's hit or miss But this was really strong. He was charismatic and I liked him. No, I loved him We're both in love with him and so that's kind of the biggest endorsement you can get I like to a Bisexual girl and a non-binary twink. Absolutely. It's huge.
Starting point is 00:02:48 All right, so here is the interview with Zoran Mamdani. I'm here today with Zoran Mamdani. So I usually start my podcast off with a really quick, fun question, which is, have you done anything right or wrong this week? Have I done anything right or wrong this week? I would say I did something right today. Yeah. Which is that I started my day with chai. Oh. That always sets me right. I want to ask you a couple questions. Hit me. Is it wrong to serve pizza with pineapple at official city events? I don't think
Starting point is 00:03:24 it's wrong. And that's the right answer for the Latino community, OK? Because we love pineapple on our pizza. Is it wrong to want fresh and affordable food options where we live? No, it is not wrong. It is right to want those things. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:39 What are you doing to help with that? So we have put forward the only plan in this race to actually guarantee cheaper groceries for New Yorkers. It would be a pilot program of a municipal network of city-run grocery stores, one in each borough that would guarantee cheaper groceries. And it would do that based on a model we've seen be successful in Kansas, a model that was studied for the implementation of it in Chicago, and that would actually ensure that
Starting point is 00:04:03 no New Yorker is priced out of produce, because that's what's happening right now with milk and eggs and bread. So, Rapid Fire, rights and wrongs of the week, this is how it works. Very quickly, you're going to say right or wrong. There is no nuance, because that's how politics works these days. No nuance.
Starting point is 00:04:17 But at the end, if you want to explain yourself, you can very quickly. You can explain your vote. Yes. Exactly. Here we go. Rapid Fire, rights and wrongs of the week. Dogs in coffee shops. Trying to figure out Rapid Fire rights and wrongs of the week.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Dogs in coffee shops. Trying to figure out if I want to win this election or not. Yeah. Personally, wrong. Okay. Double parking in the bike lane. Wrong. Making out on the train.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Right for other people. Breaking up on the trains. Wrong for other people. Motorcycles using the bike lane. Wrong. Listen to the full episode at the link below or by searching I'm Right You're Wrong podcast. Okay, love you, bye.
