Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello and welcome to Spiritually Speaking with me Jess and me Sam. Welcome everyone. This is like the first official episode now. It is. Where we delve in. Which is amazing and very exciting. So Sam, shall we share what the topic is on this episode? Yeah, so this episode felt like it was the perfect time of year for us to also begin the podcast but to really speak about what your new year goals are going to be the whole stigma behind new year new me um a lot of people have very different opinions um and very different ways and how they approach this time of year um so we really want to chat about that and explain our experiences of it and how we deal with it as well really yeah I think so because we
Starting point is 00:00:52 both do have different approaches like you're definitely more of a goal objective person yeah I'm not I'm more of a let's feel the emotions let's reflect let's sit with this and also I struggle with the concept of new year because for me it feels like this man-made time where we either look at ourselves as a failure or a success which to me is outrageous that one day defines that so yeah there's a lot there's a lot that can be felt around this time yeah so we're gonna delve in we are but before that we're gonna start our first segment of the podcast which is basically it's really simple because all of it needs to be simple because that's the way that our brain likes it we're gonna just have a reflection of the week okay so it's not like a
Starting point is 00:01:44 catch-up of the week what I want this to be and this is also for those that are listening to like reflect on the week the last seven days I want you to kind of think hey how's this last week been what's been going on how have I felt you know has it been a week of a mixture of emotions has it been a week of a mixture of emotions? Has it been a week of lots of achievement? Has it been a week where you have felt totally rubbish and that's also okay? But sometimes we are just on the go, moving forward, focusing on the future and we don't just have a moment to stop and think about, you know, the last seven days. So Sam, you're always on the go and you're always thinking ahead so tell me what's your reflection of the week so it's funny you say that because as you as as you were just talking I was thinking like okay what about my week but honestly like my last week has
Starting point is 00:02:37 been so different to something that it would ever normally be um I'm actually now on technically maternity leave um so it has been very slow my body is not where my mind is and there has been a lot of um lessons to be learned okay um which is good and i've definitely just leaned into it now and accepted it and i don't make too many plans in each day I very much say no to a lot more things than I was before um and I'm just really learning to relax to be honest that is quite unfamiliar for you very unfamiliar but you know what I actually have taken it on board it's taken time to get accustomed to it and get used to that but I'm actually okay with it now and I know that there's a bigger reason for it you know yeah I'm fine with that so what would you use like as a theme for the last seven days then slow okay nice slow last seven days okay slow and steady amazing
Starting point is 00:03:41 yeah love that really nice how about you okay so I would say that mine has been slightly chaotic actually more in my energy than like physically around me um so we are doing a pre-record but at the moment it is currently mercury retrograde um so what that means is it's just a little bit of a funny time for communication Mercury's the planet of communication and I don't normally feel them I'm normally like whatever but day one of the retrograde my taxi got lost turned up at the wrong villa for a client and it didn't stress me out yeah yeah I just felt the resistance in the energy so I feel yeah I was a bit emotional on the weekend um quite tearful um and yeah like it was it was good though like I felt some
Starting point is 00:04:33 frustrations I felt a bit of impatience in me coming through so yeah on reflection yeah a lot of emotions but the last couple of days feeling a lot more productive it feels something is feeling quite excited quite productive even though we're still in the mercury retrograde we're coming up to the winter solstice on Thursday again this is a pre-record so this is on the 21st December that the winter solstice arrives and it's the shortest day of the year and it's actually you know sort of the ending of the year on a spiritual level on the um wheel of the calendar so it's that kind of getting tidy getting cleaned up getting everything ready for that yeah so i've got more energy now but yeah lots of emotions i'd say the same as well like even just like this beginning of this week all of a sudden
Starting point is 00:05:21 i'm like okay right i feel like i can focus on things again yeah same which is nice yeah so it's not necessarily time to do too much not to launch too much it's just a case of um riding the waves of the emotions and when the energy is there to get things done then making it happen yes which sets us perfectly into what we're going to chat about as well exactly so obviously this is all about the new year new me energy that's all around which makes me slightly uncomfortable but I'm embracing it so I guess what we wanted to do was share our perspectives and you know it's a everyone talks about it everyone's like oh what's your new year's resolutions and I'm sure there's lots of podcasts that are going to talk about this and I just wanted to share from my perspective what this time of year brings and and hopefully by doing that it might inspire it might trigger who knows but it will it will do something hopefully for how you set your intentions for
Starting point is 00:06:22 this new year so we kind of split it up of like what we both do so like we said Sam's a goal setter she's loves to write loves to journal the list yeah yeah where I will happily just sit with my cup of tea on the balcony for an hour in a daydream of like what I sort of not necessarily what I want but sort of what I'm feeling and things like that okay so what I feel is so important when we approach an ending and a beginning in any way of life whether you're using it for this time or whatever a birthday you can do this too you need to let go and you also need to have a celebration okay and this for me is more of a spiritual ceremony so this is really really important that I do this around this time of year. I do it with friends.
Starting point is 00:07:11 I'll do it on my own. But I like to just look at the year and think about the things that I'm ready to let go of. What didn't work? What didn't I like? What didn't make me feel good? You know know is that friendships is that committing to too much and I will just simply sit there and think about it yeah last year was the first time I've ever done that before so sorry so the beginning of this year
Starting point is 00:07:38 the beginning of 2023 is the first time that I've ever had that time and reflected on what would have been 2022 in terms of like what you've just said what I wanted to get rid of what I didn't want to take into the next year and it was a really good thing to do really good and it's something that I actually then also did with my staff in the salon as well we sat down and did that together um and I think until you really break down that past year of your achievements but also things that maybe didn't serve you it's a really nice way to remind yourself of okay well I don't have to take that to next year yeah well this is it so as much as I'm like oh this new year's forced on us I'm like I might as well jump on the collective energy and and you know because it's going to be higher the vibration
Starting point is 00:08:30 will be higher on that sense so yeah so I would ask you to think about the things that don't make you feel good and what I mean by that is not just um in your head if something doesn't feel good how does your body feel you know is if you go I don't know to trying to think of a certain example I know you go to a gym class you don't like it gym instructor doesn't feel right yeah but you're forcing yourself to go yeah just let it go yeah yeah maybe you just need to find something else yeah like don't force it you know it's that kind of thing or you know maybe you don't you know your friends maybe there's certain commitments that you sort of procrastinate over yeah tap into that why you procrastinate and what is it about the friendship that's bothering you and maybe that's an opportunity
Starting point is 00:09:21 to explore yeah definitely what you need to let go of you know on that so it's it's a shedding process really and we're in the winter so on a spiritual level we're in hibernation mode we're here to hide we're not here to go out and party we're meant to just recluse and hide and store all our food and just be that hermit to recover so that's really important but it's not just about the negatives of letting go it's also about the celebrations yes what you've achieved in the last year like and I think sometimes as well like obviously a year is such a long period that to take yourself back to January for example of 2023 and think about your achievements from then till now you forget how much has actually happened yeah it's so easy to forget that and like you know when you
Starting point is 00:10:12 see loads of people I mean I am one of these people um when you put on Instagram and it says like oh put in a picture from each month of the year or whatever on your story or whatever it is and you do that and then you go back and you're like oh wow I did that this year like that feels like ages ago yeah um so I think it's so nice to also like you just said reflect on your achievements and actually how much you have done in that one year also if you're reflecting back and you're thinking I have not done anywhere near as much as what I wanted to this year that's okay look at you because it is I know I'm growing you'll be like right you need to I know yeah normally I'd be like do this isn't it um but it
Starting point is 00:11:00 is like that's fine and I also think like so much can come from that place of just the realization of that. And you know, why aren't you happy that you didn't do as much as what you wanted to this year? And what can you do then next year that's going to make that even better and change that? And what can you put in place to really implement some positive changes? But I definitely think looking back at your achievements is so important big or small well this is it like you know it could just be showing up could just be getting up getting dressed and getting through the day and there'll be a lot of people that are struggling you know you know i think for me a few years ago i didn't really have many celebrations
Starting point is 00:11:42 it would have just been that i survived the year to be quite honest yeah but that is something to celebrate of course it is you know we're not always like thriving and I would say to be quite honest with you every year is a combination of thrive and survive 100 and you know that's what it's about and yeah that's life definitely I think that now like when I look back at like the first five to six months of this year it was hard yeah and within that hard time there were so many amazing times as well like I went to the Maldives for the first time like that was a huge goal of mine like that is an incredible thing to do but at the same time I was really struggling with like fertility and, you know, battling with that at the exact same time of having a huge high. So to reflect back and look at it, I could look at it and be like, oh, wow, I achieved all these things.
Starting point is 00:12:34 And, you know, I'm so happy about that. But it's also not to forget that there were hard times within that as well. And that's absolutely fine. That's okay and it does just make you remember that then you know next year if you have a few hard times again that's okay and you will we all do like i would say to be honest like my reflection of this year is it was pretty stable yeah which is huge for me that's my celebration yeah um the fact that there's stability consistency yeah a lot of healing and i think that is you know able to be like you can't i can't show anyone what i've achieved yeah and that's okay yeah i
Starting point is 00:13:15 think sometimes it's you know things like i bought a house got a car whatever none of my stuff is that materialistic things yeah and i think sometimes especially the world of social media over this period is a very bizarre place and it's a place that actually is quite triggering for a lot of people because it's a place to show what you've achieved physical achievement yeah it's not necessarily a place where you can be like hey guys I've been on deep healing journey and I've been really stable this year like yeah I will probably say that to you know my community but it's it doesn't seem to get the same recognition and this is the problem with social media so I do feel you know it's hard time for a lot of people that are on their
Starting point is 00:13:57 their journeys well we're all on it but I think when you're struggling social media is not the best place it's the comparison isn't isn't it, that you do. And you know what, again, like even without the social media, like we can do it with our friends. Yeah, definitely. You know, like your friends, you might think like,
Starting point is 00:14:13 oh, my friends are doing this or they're buying a house or they're having kids and I'm not in that place. Like again, everybody's journey is different. Yeah. And that is absolutely fine. And it's just taking that
Starting point is 00:14:25 step back look at your own your own situation your own life and be proud of like you just said like having a stable life you know or having some stability making some good choices this year definitely and I think like that's why having like a spiritual ceremony yeah to me is so significant it doesn't have to be on new year's eve to be quite honest that's not when i do it usually yeah but what it is is lighting a candle getting your favorite notebook a good pen maybe some music on in the background fire pit if it's you know good weather whatever and you just sit and be and you just reflect on all these things and what what I suggest for people to do is you know either talk with a friend while you're doing it so you do it together or partner
Starting point is 00:15:13 family whoever it doesn't really matter but listen to your body of what comes up when you talk about something so whether it's you know I made these business decisions and I'm really yeah I'm worried about them and you feel it in your tummy yeah so you're like oh okay something's talking to me now yeah I'm feeling uncomfortable yeah and explore what that is and either journal it or talk about it could be like relationship stuff someone's come into your life or the relationship you're in and as you sort of explore it seeing your body does your chest get really tight start to see what's happening because your body talks to you and we ignore it so that's really important in that ceremony for me yeah because yeah I wouldn't say that's something I've actually ever done well it's well maybe I
Starting point is 00:16:02 have but not necessarily I've definitely haven't taken the awareness to be able to like you say like listen to my body like I've done um the whole like I'll write it down I'll sit and I'll you know I'll I love doing that um but to actually then like listen to your body is so important but that's what the body's for and that's that sort of divine feminine going within and just seeing what what happens it could literally be like you could feel a little tiggle like it could be a little like pop in your arm like it can literally just be like a shift of energy and i know that sounds really bizarre but that'll be happening all the time yeah we're just not acknowledging it yeah you know so then you do
Starting point is 00:16:41 that so this really sacred moment brings that together and then you you know write stuff down let it go put it in the fire you know rip it up it doesn't really matter as long as you really make a process in letting go yeah and usually I'll be quite honest with you yeah you can let go of people but really you're the problem because we're all the problem yeah so feel free to put your ex in the fire but actually it's probably a bit of work that you've got to do yeah 100 so that's what i'm very conscious of with my letting go is it's not about letting sort of people go it's letting relationships not relationships letting my traits and my learnings go my attachments letting them go so that's what I would say to focus on so
Starting point is 00:17:28 it's a bit deeper guys it's not about yeah um just having a nice time saying your boss is a plonker yeah and putting him in the fire yeah fair dues do that if you want like I've definitely done that before yeah but I would rather you think why is my boss a plonker yeah do I allow them to talk to me as though I'm a child and they're an adult and it really annoys me what could I be doing differently yeah and if it's that you're allowing something so maybe you need to dig into that instead of just getting angry so that would be and also get angry there's nothing wrong with that but you know just just yeah use that energy to get answers so that's part of the ceremony of letting go i'm all about letting go that's the pisces and scorpio energy in me getting deep with the
Starting point is 00:18:09 emotions but obviously the celebration is really important as well and that's when like a good song a good bit of music on your playlist you know move your body dance you know it just makes you feel really good yeah it could be any song could be like spiritual could be beyonce yeah definitely i literally have a power playlist on my phone yeah and it'll have like songs on it yeah it will make me feel like so good so ready for the day like if i've got like a really big day in work for example if we have like an education workshop or something like that i will put these songs on before anyone comes in the salon and it will just get me like so charged up and ready for the day and doing something like that in that instance is so good like so important so I would suggest to do that
Starting point is 00:18:56 now you can do this throughout January it doesn't need to be something you do leading up to the new year so this is just whenever feels right really so that's kind of the spiritual celebration that i feel and that's going into that more tribal way of behaving yeah more that ancestral sort of spiritual babe yeah it's there's nothing that's goal orientated there it's just feeling the body yes and listening to the mind and letting them work together so that's my little insight I would love for you to share more about your sort of your goal set in the way that you're quite creative with your journaling and stuff because a lot of people will really resonate with that yeah so I I mean like what we said before I will make
Starting point is 00:19:45 a note of like you know what I want to what didn't really go well for me in that year what went really well what I'm really proud of um achievements that I want to achieve in the next year so say in 2024 and then one thing that I'll do is I will then look at those goals and figure out what is a habit and what is a goal nice so say for example this year prior so 2023 at the beginning I probably wrote on there I want to consistently go to parties that is a habit to be able to work out yeah that is a habit that I wanted to enforce in my routine of going to a gym class two to three times a week whereas a goal for me was maybe to get a new stylist in the salon yeah so it's really looking at your list of your goals and working out what is a habit and what's a goal yeah and then it's just a really good way to break it down because a habit is a lot harder
Starting point is 00:21:00 oh yeah yeah it takes a lot more discipline to discipline and I think it really makes it a little bit less overwhelming by realizing what is a habit and what's a goal yeah um and realizing kind of what it is that you need to do to be able to stick to that and also maybe not putting too many down as well yeah um just so it doesn't get too stressful um and then one thing that i love to do which again this is like the organized freak in me um is i will put the year into quarters so january february march will be in one then you've got april may june and so on so on and i and I will put these goals into each section of the quarters. So for example in 2023 in my Jan, Feb, March was that I wanted to fall pregnant, it was that I wanted to go to the Maldives and obviously the pregnant one didn't happen but the Maldives was right there and that
Starting point is 00:22:04 was something that I managed to achieve within that quarter the reason why I did that where I'll break it down into the quarters again for me is just that then it didn't feel as overwhelming as how many things I wanted to try and do in a year and I just look at it in a smaller way a lot of the time it doesn't mean that they actually happen within that quarter but it's just a nice way for me to break it down a little bit. I think so. And it keeps you accountable. Definitely.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Which is really nice. And I've definitely done that in the past. Like it's less of my approach now, but I've definitely set quarterly goals. Yeah. And targets. Yeah. More probably business focused than like personal.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Yeah. But yeah. And I think it's a good way. Yeah. I think that's really good for habits definitely because then you can be like okay q1 I'm gonna go pilates twice a week yeah maybe even once a week yeah 100% q2 I want to be pushing it up yes you know exactly yes it's more achievable yeah it's those sorts of things 100% and then i would maybe write this down and put it somewhere where i can see it every day i'd like to sometimes i stick it to my mirror where i'll get ready i might not even consciously read that every day but it's just there yeah i think
Starting point is 00:23:16 that like i always say put it on the front of your fridge because you're probably going to go to the fridge every day and i actually do have probably more than once yeah yeah yeah yeah but that's a good one two main goals are on my fridge yeah see them every day yeah and it's like you say subconscious you open it and I did that I had um for a long time this money manifestation way before I set up my business and I wrote it years ago I still have it somewhere here um and it did come true how I sort of was able to grow income yeah and I think it was on the lines of to bring money in in ways that you know I don't know about yes and I think that's what I would say to everyone do not limit your manifestations I'm not a massive manifester to be quite honest nowadays um I'm a little bit more sort of allowing
Starting point is 00:24:06 and in the moment with what's coming what changes and things like that but I get quite frustrated when manifestations are like connected to a number um because you could have more yeah you could have less and it might be the right thing for you but like you could be stopping yourself from getting something because you're so fixated on that yeah it's quite specific manifestation I always say so when I'd write my goals for example at the bottom of it I will always say this or something better yeah yeah and I think like a lot of people that do manifesting it's quite masculine it's very action orientated and it's it's a lot um and it's it's it's been a journey for me with manifesting because like I said to you I told you the story of my ring that I manifested like this piece of jewelry that I wanted I found it within
Starting point is 00:24:56 a week lovely yeah that was like a quick little win on my side where now I think that sometimes when we manifest this is just an opinion and what I will say is in six months it might change this is just how I'm feeling right now yeah I feel as though sometimes manifesting can glitch the system and what I mean by the system is the universe yeah and there's always this beautiful bigger divine plan and we sometimes then like force these things and it doesn't always end up in the way that we want it a bit like the business class flight yeah like I manifested business class but I didn't pay for it someone else did yeah and it was lovely yeah but like you didn't get that same feeling yeah that you wanted that you were trying to achieve yeah like I wanted to be on that flight feeling like a real boss babe yeah
Starting point is 00:25:50 actually if I didn't have that manifestation I probably would have enjoyed that business class flight that little bit more if I didn't feel like I failed you put that pressure on yourself yeah so like now you know it's just those it's so yeah so silly but I think that you know sometimes it's like if you're trying to manifest a boyfriend yeah like don't manifest an individual that's like the worst thing you can do because they could be the absolute wrong person for you so true yeah and then you're forcing it you know what you want to do is maybe you know think about the traits of that person or how you will feel around that person yeah so I always say to people if you're going to manifest go for it but tap into the feelings because if
Starting point is 00:26:32 you want to be rich good for you but what you want to feel is financial freedom yeah like it's not about if you've got ten thousand dollars in your bank account that yeah great good for you but how do you feel having that there yes might not be enough it might be like the most amazing thing ever yeah think of the feeling associated with it so that's what I would say to everyone when you're going into your goal setting you know don't write loads of numbers I'm not telling you what to do but I am if you're gonna write numbers write a feeling with it yeah and how you want to feel but don't just yeah actually actually feel the feeling of what it would
Starting point is 00:27:11 be you know so that's what I would say and you know I've done things like when I bought my flat at home I just basically imagined the feeling of washing up every day yeah and it just felt amazing yeah it was such a mundane task but I was just like oh my dishes are washed at my lovely sink right by the window and that that happened and obviously yeah I did move into that home but you know it's about it is about the feeling yeah so that's how so I have manifested and I've been really successful with my manifestations. I've also been like, I've also got myself in situations that I probably didn't need to be in for a manifestation to 100 percent. Like even I like, I mean, I'm sure we'll go. We'll probably do a whole separate episode on manifestations because it's such a huge thing and like huge topic. But yeah, I think that even like i was so obsessed with wanting twins
Starting point is 00:28:08 well yeah and you got them which is incredible which is incredible and i'm you know over the moon that that has happened for me but never in a million years did i think that i would have to go through fertility treatment to get them well this is it but also i remember saying to you like i struggled to read your energy yeah because you manifest so much yeah so i'm i don't know what's your energy or your manifestation and it kind of blurs as one which is great because you're getting it right yeah but so many of us don't yeah so it's this kind of it's it's a difficult place but i think for a lot manic yeah yeah but i think like that's what new year's about it's manifesting that's kind of what society
Starting point is 00:28:45 has made new year yes which is fine to some degree but actually we should probably be working with the moon cycles and definitely things just not get so stressed out about it like you know if you're thinking going into a new year like oh i really didn't do what i wanted to do last year or you feel overwhelmed by the idea of a new year then don't stress out about it just have a few little things that you want to feel positive about next year and focus on them yeah and also if you have nothing like I'm here for it babes yeah like I really am like I was out the other week and someone was like what's your goals for 2024 and I was like I actually don't have any I felt really proud for saying that yeah good for
Starting point is 00:29:25 you everyone looked at me in utter shock I have no goals yeah and I have no new year's resolutions I have an intention for um for my health yeah like I feel like I've had a lot of spiritual development and that will continue yeah I've had a lot of personal development and I now want to explore more development with my health yeah you know what what are the effects of me do I want to be a vegetarian I don't know yeah I want to explore it so I've set an intention for that I also used to always do HIIT workouts and boot camp I just don't think I like that anymore yeah I go through so what I find with exercise is I do what suits my mood at the time yeah so for example during lockdown I would do two hip workouts a day that's really good because I need honestly because I needed to burn that energy like I was like yeah I could imagine you were like oh I yeah it was it was
Starting point is 00:30:25 not good um so for me I had to do those HIIT workouts because that was like my burst of energy I wasn't working through lockdown you know that was intense whereas now I'm kind of in this like slower pace of life and I absolutely love doing reformer pilates because that's like a slower way of like moving my body. It's still strengthening, but it's a bit more mindful as well. Whereas prior as well, like years ago, I was really into running. I ran a marathon because that was a way of moving my energy, you know, and what I needed at that time was structure and routine of like going for a run for hours and hours on a weekend whereas now I couldn't think of anything worse than doing that but that's the whole point isn't it like it's going through like the evolution of you yeah definitely and what and
Starting point is 00:31:14 and we don't actually stop and ask ourselves yeah so you know that's kind of where this is an opportunity to do that yeah definitely and it's fine to change those things oh always so that that's really important so I think really what I would say to everyone listening is spend some moments thinking about the theme and the intention of this next cycle of life I love the word intention yeah as well like your intention for next year yeah definitely yeah definitely and I think that's really important that you know you sit and feel with that intention what it actually means to you and just explore that um so mine's health what would you say yours is Sam mine is my intention for next year is just to navigate freely I suppose or just navigate a really new way of life okay because obviously I'm going to be having two babies um a lot of change basically is going to happen for me next
Starting point is 00:32:17 year um a lot of change and I just want to be very open to that receptive of that and to be able to basically just keep my cool almost so I guess embrace change yeah exactly yeah because you're gonna have so much change yeah and that's simplifying it yeah and that's what yeah really I love change I really do but I also crave routine yeah so it's it's being aware that you know a lot of change is going to happen but yeah that's okay yeah definitely I like change too I enjoy change I'm also now trying to be more mindful that when things are calmer and more level yeah that's also really nice yeah exactly it's just different things so so take this time to think about your thing if you want to I would really urge you to and like once you write that down because again that's a really good way to
Starting point is 00:33:11 get it out sit with your cup of tea whatever coffee wine and just have a moment and really like feel what that would feel like if you achieve that yeah definitely or whatever that felt like throughout next year yeah and give more attitude to it yeah so like I'd say if I think about health for me that would be you know I want to feel you know obviously healthier is probably part of it but I want to feel more comfortable in my body I want to feel more comfortable with what I'm eating like yeah especially here yeah we there's all this food yeah I don't really drink as much alcohol now and that's really good for me like since I had a break that helped me with alcohol and sort of
Starting point is 00:33:57 anxiety you know they were really paired together yeah I didn't know that yes because I would just drink all the time um so now i've really kind of got into a healthy place with alcohol yeah so now i want to look at that in other ways of my life with me and other things so that's really good so like it's then going on how i felt or now i feel so good where i don't drink as much alcohol imagine how i'm going to feel when i start exploring my diet yes and the nutrients it's not about being skinny yeah it's not true no it's just it is a feeling again yeah yeah so it's that kind of side so i'm not oh my god that'd feel amazing like instantly that makes me feel
Starting point is 00:34:35 good yeah definitely that's what we have to do and that activates something in the energy that goes okay cool yeah we're getting it now should we go and explore that yeah and you won't be perfect at it but yeah yeah yeah 100 mine would just be like waking up and not necessarily having a plan for a day or being okay with that yeah and just rolling with whatever happened that day and you're gonna have to do that i am yes and that's lovely and it's also you know an element you'll always have a plan to some degree I think with like the way you live your life and I think with the babies you're going to have that routine but it's going to change yeah like something really simply can change it yeah yeah and it's just being receptive to that change yeah amazing so I think that really what we've shared here is
Starting point is 00:35:22 you know food for thought really isn't it yeah definitely how you can reflect on your year how you can be excited about the next year um and how not to get overwhelmed if you are about the new year um and just generally enjoy it i think it's a really positive step yeah and just fill the fills with it definitely okay we're gonna wrap up this episode with a really exciting segment which we are gonna introduce into every episode which is gonna be where jess is going to shuffle her cards and she's gonna pick one so over to jess really as simple as that it's gonna be our little card of the week it's a collective message for everyone okay so this is either gonna inspire it may trigger it may resonate who knows what will happen yeah but it's beautiful okay and this is something that i do often but these are my
Starting point is 00:36:17 my oracle cards the keepers of the light so some of you may have these cards. They're really, really nice. Let's see what is coming through. Okay, so we've got Sacred Vision. Choose to forgive in order to heal. See the light in all. Remember that love has no boundaries. Okay, so this makes sense for the letting go. Oh, okay, nice. Yeah, so choose to forgive in order to heal.
Starting point is 00:36:41 I think in general, we struggle to forgive in order to heal I think in general we struggle to forgive when someone hurts us when we've been hurt whether it's relationships it could be work it could be friends like that wound like it just is always a little bit open yeah definitely so it's saying choose to forgive and I think that's a big message for many of us. Forgiveness is key. Forgiveness is something I've really had to learn. I can hold a grudge. And forgiveness is powerful when you do that. It really is, okay?
Starting point is 00:37:13 And when they say see the light in all, that's really beautiful because we all have light and we're all good people. So when someone does something to you and it hurts you or, you know, it could literally be like your other half says something. Can you just think that was, I didn't like that. Yeah. Don't do that. No, they're not a bad person. Yes. There's a reason why they've done that.
Starting point is 00:37:33 They've had a bad day at work. Break it down. Yeah. Okay. Even if someone does something terribly traumatic towards you, they break your heart. They terribly let you down down there will be something happening for that person as to why they've behaved in that way yeah and that's really sad yeah so we have to send love and light and you know I always sort of say send love and light but I really do mean that
Starting point is 00:37:56 okay and love does have no boundaries so I think this time of year can be quite a difficult year for like or time of year for comparison and all of that. Do you know what? When we're triggered, that's okay. But remember that everyone's got their own story and everyone's got their own shit and everyone's got their own good. And we're all just trying to work it out, okay? So there's a big message there really is about letting go. If you don't let go, time will pass you by.
Starting point is 00:38:25 Yeah, you can never move forward. No. And this is a really good time to acknowledge that. So with that, that is my message. And really, I'm sending you all love and light with that. And, you know, this is a really nice way to end the podcast because that little message is just, you know. It's what we need to go into 2024.
