Hello and welcome back to spiritually speaking with me Sam and with me, Jess. Welcome back everyone.
Everybody, welcome back. We basically have just jumped straight into recording because normally
sometimes, not every time, but we'll have like a little chat first, but Jess was like, no,
the vibe is so good. We're like eager to speak to one another that we were like, let's just get this.
Let's just do it. Let's record it. And also, usually when we have chats before, one of us is like,
I'm just a bit emotional.
I've been feeling this.
Where I feel like today we've both come on the call quite energized.
So it's like, you know, because normally we need to give each other a little therapy session first, don't we?
Exactly.
So this is nice energy.
I said to Sam, like, so we're recording this the day before this goes out, it was a Thursday.
But I've woken up in such a good mood.
Not that I don't wake up in good moods, but like I just feel.
really energized, really excited, really quite chilled.
Like, I feel quite sort of content.
And I'm really on top of things, which isn't always the case.
You know, sometimes I feel like I'm chasing my tail.
So it's just quite a nice feeling.
I love that feeling.
I woke up this morning and I realized that it was Thursday
and I thought about what I had on today.
And I was like, today's a great day.
And Andy texts me like, what are you doing today?
And then when I told him what I was doing,
he's like, oh, you've got a nice day.
It was like, yes, I have.
Yeah, my day's the same because after recording,
I've got to like pop to the little high street
and they've got really nice coffee shops
and I haven't got any calls.
And I was like, I'm going to sit in and have my coffee.
And also, this is another thing that's made me really happy.
I forgot about a podcast that I used to listen to.
And it's called, like, After Dark.
I mean, it's a history podcast.
So if anyone's like a history geek, I'd really recommend it.
But they do loads of episodes on the witch trials.
I don't know if you can get it in Dubai because I feel like I had it for a VPN.
You have a look.
It's called After Dark.
And basically they have really good ones.
And there's like an episode on Victorian women being sort of sectioned into asylums, you know, in that time.
And I always feel like I had a past life.
where I was this version of me,
but because I was woo-woo and had deep feelings,
they would have just locked me up in an asylum, you know?
So I was just like, I want to listen to that.
Sorry, a bit random.
But I feel like people listening,
if you're like me, you'll actually find this stuff really interesting.
Have you found it?
I don't think so.
No.
It's called after dark.
Yeah, it's there.
The dark truth.
Yeah.
So it's that one.
No, the third one down.
It's a red logo.
After dark, myths, misdeeds and the paranormal.
But like it's sort of, honestly, it's got loads on the Essex witch trials, which is huge, obviously, because I'm from Essex and I live back in Essex.
And yeah, there's just so much interesting stuff there.
And I just bloody love it, you know.
I feel like it helps me sort of connect to past lives.
and I'm also quite connected to Tudor times as well.
And there's another historian that does podcast from that time.
So yeah.
Do you do history for a GCSE?
No.
Do you know what?
Oh, what?
Well, I, right, so my GCSEs were a bit lame.
Well, not lame.
I basically did PE and art because I just was obsessed with both.
And I'm so pleased I did those.
And then I didn't know what to do as my third one.
So I basically did child development, which is so random.
but it was because it was 100% coursework.
And I really struggled with exams.
So I basically just looked at like what was like, you know, art was practical,
PE, obviously I was good at PE.
So yeah, I think I basically got A-Stars and A's in all of them.
So my little niece is Year 9 and she's going to choose her GCSEs.
And my advice was like just do practical, like more coursework than exams.
because she's similar to me,
and just do things that you think are interesting.
And do you know what?
I actually learned loads in child development.
No way, that's good.
Because I also kind of think, like,
and maybe this is a bit unfair for me to say,
there's probably going to be a lot of people that disagree with me.
But I don't really think that they contribute to much after school.
What, child development or PE?
No, no, GCS.
Well, do you know what?
So, like, we have this conversation a lot,
because with Ben's work, he's basically, like, basically been in education most of his adult life,
you know, with the work he does. And as soon as I could get out of exams and things, I was like,
just get me out, do you know what I mean? And all of mine, I think if I could go back to school now,
I would, I would love it. I would do history. I would do science. Like, I love learning now.
Like, I wish I had the attitude I have now when I was a teenager, because,
because, and even geography, I think I'd probably find interesting.
Yeah, see, I like learning about topics that they don't teach in school at all.
And it's just, yeah, for me, school just wasn't a thing.
Like, I just didn't click with it.
I, yeah, I didn't really like it at all, to be honest.
And not like I dreaded going, because it wasn't like that.
I just didn't see the point.
I was like, this just doesn't lead me to want to be in life.
And it's just, yeah, I just loved it socially.
Like I was like, I feel like I got up every day buzzing for school to just like be with my mates.
And like I loved the social element of school.
And so like from that perspective.
But yeah, it's funny because my niece is going to the school that I went to.
And like some of the same teachers are there.
And it's just, yeah, it's so funny.
But yeah.
And then she was learning about.
Titanic the other day and she was like really interested in it and I was like oh that's really
cool like you know and we were sort of talking oh bless her but yeah I think I don't know I think it
depends I was never academic like you know now I know that my intelligence is more emotional
um I've obviously built a career off of that you know and I think if like my teachers at school
knew that I actually kind of you know built something myself I think they'd probably be a bit
surprised.
But, you know, it's just, you know, we did all right.
Didn't we just GCSEs?
Exactly.
And I had like a NAFs tutor.
Like, I don't know, but I really struggle with maths.
Like, I just don't get it.
And I literally had a tutor for like all of my GCSEs just to get like a C.
And I was like, thank God.
I'd have to retake it.
I never had a tutor, but I, yeah, I don't know.
I did.
I passed everything.
But I was very like more like,
bare minimum, I think.
I could even tell you what I got.
I know maths, I got a C,
but I don't know what I've got in English.
Could have been a B, maybe.
Science, no idea.
Oh, sides.
I got like ease.
That was like a failed science,
which now I don't think I would.
I think now I just remember thinking,
oh, science is Latin.
You know, it's just sort of all this weird,
you know, sort of at that age, isn't it?
It's funny, but anyway.
So, yeah, but now I love learning,
but like I like learning.
like things like these history podcasts like I'm buzzing I'm going to listen to them like all day
and I'm painting tomorrow I'm going to have them on while I'm painting like I'm like buzzing about
it but yeah it's all different isn't it as you get older yeah so what have you been up to
so I've actually got some very exciting news yes it's got some very big news so Ben has asked me
to move in with him which is very excited and that's why I'm painting tomorrow because
he has like a lovely conservatory on the back of his house and I'm sitting here basically
all day every day working just it's become my little spiritual witch room so yeah I've got
full rain to decorate the conservatory but yeah it feels really exciting we've been together
like seven months now um so it feels like we spend every day together so it's sort of made
sense but it's so weird like having a boyfriend like not weird but like it's just really surreal
because like a year ago I was in literally Chang Mai um very very single um I'd just done the course
on like the art of dying I don't know if you remember it was like really deep and you know
and I just remember feeling so like single and like where is my life going from a relationship
perspective, you know.
And it's just, it's just crazy to think now, like, I've met someone and they've asked me
to move in with them and, yeah, I feel really happy.
So it's really sweet.
So, yeah, it's just crazy, isn't it?
How life can sort of...
So quickly.
Yeah.
But I also was getting very fed up and people probably will relate to this or remember from
early days of relationships, packing a bag to go to their house.
and forgetting, oh, and forgetting toiletries and even like I'll buy bits for here.
I was just, and I felt like it was driving me a bit mad.
And I think, like, where I am quite sort of hypersensitive and quite emotional,
I do think I need a lot of, like, consistency to keep me regulated.
So I even think, like, moving between homes would stress me out more than it sort of needed to, you know?
I also think that that also comes down to when you do it when you're an adult.
I think it's quite different because I think like when you're a kid and you're doing that,
you probably don't even give it a second thought.
Like you're not really aware of those thoughts or feelings or you don't really have the same feeling about like where you necessarily stay in or you're home.
But then once you're an adult and you know how it feels to feel settled and to feel like in your own space,
when you have that disrupted regularly, you are very aware that that is very disruptive.
Yeah, definitely. And I think as well, like I was thinking about it, I moved to Dubai four years ago around this time.
And when I moved to Dubai, I lived in like multiple apartments as everyone does.
And then obviously I was travelling and nomad in. So I was sort of months to six weeks in places.
So for four years, I've actually not had like a stable, consistent home.
So it feels really, really nice.
And obviously, I'm like Operation Garden now.
So I'm going to grow all our vegetables, which is very exciting.
So I have my potatoes.
I'll show Sam.
I'm preparing my potatoes.
So they're, oh, shit, I've just dropped a load.
Basically, they're in this little tin thing.
and they need to have like the,
I don't know any of the terminology,
but the sprouts maybe.
They have to be up so they can grow.
And then they can go into sort of the soil,
not yet, but soon.
So they're getting prepped.
And then I've got this thing that heats up all my little seedlings,
and I'm going to start that in the next week or so
so I can start growing like my chilies, my peppers, my tomatoes.
and the conservatory is basically going to be really witchy.
I'm going to grow all my vegetables in here,
like it's kind of been a greenhouse vibe.
I just feel very excited about it.
Like I feel very, like, witchy and herbie.
I'm going to grow all my herbs.
I'm going to grow my own sage so I can make my own smudge sticks to cleanse.
Like, I just feel like I'm really enjoying this season.
reason. Good. I'm glad. So that's basically my update. I haven't, you know, obviously
this is quite a big one. You know, other than that, life's good. I feel like we're getting
blue skies here in England, so that's nice. So more walks, getting outside. I do feel, though,
like, it is just miserable now. You just need spring. Like... By the time February comes
around, I think in England, you're just like, no, I've had enough because it's kind of like,
November and December is like prep for Christmas, New Year.
So you've got that at least on your side with the shitty weather.
And then January, like, this is bleak.
But, you know, it's a new year.
We're going to get through it.
And then February, you're like, no, no, this is enough now.
Yeah.
And especially with like all the gardening, like, obviously all the seed,
you want to prepare them.
And I sound so like, I don't know much.
But I know that it's still a little bit too cold for a few of them or a lot of them.
but I just want to get on with it.
And I think that is the energy of February.
Like you're basically ready to go,
but it's like not yet just a little bit longer.
So it's that sort of thing.
So.
Yeah, it's funny because obviously here it is the complete flip side.
Yeah.
Obviously the weather's like perfect.
Yeah.
It's so nice.
You just want to be outdoors all the time.
But we're very aware that we're going to be,
we're creeping into that hot or weather
where we're going to be indoors all the time.
Well, it's interesting. I was thinking about the seasons quite a bit and I think I was talking to a client about this and I was sort of saying, you know, I do feel like being in England there's like a deeper appreciation for things because you don't have them all the time. So like even with growing your vegetables and eating them in season, like I would like to eat things like more in season because I feel like there's a reason why they grow like strawberries for example.
Yeah, start growing them now and then you have them for this season.
And then when their season's over, it's like we then force it.
And, you know, when we kind of, you know, in the labs or whatever and, you know,
obviously everything's, you know, sort of, what do you call it, imported to Dubai.
You have strawberries all year round, which is lovely.
But then I kind of feel like there is this like deeper appreciation here of like, you know,
when it's a little bit harder, then sort of really appreciating the colour.
the spring, you know, things like that.
And I think also in Dubai, for so many of you, you travel over the summer, you don't really
get a time to hibernate like I was thinking about it.
And I was like, winter's peak and you're socialising, you're having a great time.
And just as it's sort of like the hot time, which I guess once upon a time in the Arab world,
you would have literally just been in the desert, like just sitting there, you know, sort of
waiting for dark for it to get cold. And then you all go away and you go into the busyness
of the like European summer. And I'm like, that's quite a lot on like energy.
Yeah. There's really no like love. Yeah. So no wonder people burn out in Dubai because there's like
this social pressure in winter, social pressure to have a good summer. And then, you know,
you don't really get that that hibernation, which I think since coming home,
one thing I really missed like Dubai Asia was seasons and I sort of said to spirit you know I'd like to live
with seasons I didn't expect England I was hoping for like Spain or Portugal but you know I have to
surrender to this life path you know um but yeah so it's interesting so people in Dubai just be mindful
with your your hibernation where you can find it yeah definitely we've started talking about our summer
plans. Oh, yeah. Well, we've, we've brushed on the subject. We've not fully gone into it yet.
I think this weekend will be when we're like properly start looking at dates and stuff.
But we had a conversation where we were like, because so last year we left for seven weeks
and I really struggled with that. Like I actually think that for me, that's too long to be away
from my home. Yeah. It might sound weird because I know England is my home as well, but I don't have a
house in England. I don't have my stuff in England. I have to create that when I go into my
mum and dad's house at home. And, you know, it's just very different. And I actually think this for me,
seven weeks away from here. And similar to what you was just saying before about like, you know,
staying in different places, just really doesn't work that well for me. And I think that especially
while the girls are so young, they need constant eyes on them. It's just,
It's a bit stressful.
So we're definitely going to do less time this year.
But we're not entirely sure yet how that is going to look.
It's hard.
I think loads of people like I always see it on socials after the Dubai summer,
lots of people sort of post about it wasn't as glamorous as maybe people think.
Because yeah, like you are forced out of your home in a way if you don't want to stay for the heat.
But I do think as the girls get older, like if I was you, I would go to Asia for the
summer because it's cheap and like you could book a lovely villa in like kosamui for a month
and like I would do that and then go home for a couple of weeks or integrate like trips home
to the UK throughout the year instead of it being I know it saves money obviously doing one
flight but I do think that that's also I would definitely go somewhere yeah yeah it's
something it's definitely something to think about it's expensive though
I know, I know.
We might be going to Abitha in the summer as well,
and it's whether or not we can get past the thought in our head
of what it's like going away with the girls.
Well, that's the thing as well, isn't it?
They're at that age where they do need, like, their toys.
The thing is, they're going to enjoy England more, I think, this year
because of the parks.
They're going to be a lot more, like, farms, parks, things like that.
But, yeah, I just think, you know, do what feels right for you.
It's a lot of pressure.
Like, you want to see family.
but you also, you know, I find work gets really distracted over the summer
because you're travelling and, yeah, it's hard.
Yeah, I know it is hard, it is.
But we'll get there.
We'll figure it out soon.
Yeah, you'll be fine.
You've got this.
But tell me what's been going on with you.
I feel like there's lots in the energy right now for you.
So I'm very excited.
Yeah, it's been, I will be completely, you know what?
I was thinking about this.
I feel like, and I don't know if you think this,
I feel in such a safe space when we record this part,
I speak about stuff on this podcast that either I shouldn't really speak about or I wouldn't
really speak about in like other places.
Yeah.
We just have such a good like group of people that listen that I just feel comfortable to talk
about it.
Yeah.
I have had an extremely rollercoaster start to the year.
Yeah.
And I don't want to say extreme lows because absolutely not.
Like, but just some harder moments.
Yeah.
So I found the salon has been quite stressful recently.
I had to, for the first time ever let someone go,
I've never had to do that before.
And that was weighed on me quite heavily, as it would.
And I also have then, after that, had a staff member who's leaving.
It's very good terms, like it's no bad feeling.
It's just she wants to try and do something different, which is fine.
so I'm trying to now figure out what 2026 for the salon looks like
in terms of slightly different to probably what I thought at the beginning
or at the end of last year.
And I also complete again transparency had a nail girl he was due to start
and the day before said that she wasn't starting
and we had clients booked in for her.
So that's the kind of stuff that I am dealing with on a day-to-day basis at the moment.
However, that was last week and the week before
and the week before that, this is a new week.
Yeah.
And honestly, this week, it's like my spark has been relit.
I feel so much better.
I feel fresher.
I have actually stepped back a little bit from being in the salon this week.
I was only there on Monday and I'll be there on Friday.
But I'm comfortable with that.
And normally I feel a bit bad.
I feel a bit guilty or whatever.
But I'm like, no, no, no, I have needed to just step back a little bit.
and that's given me space to have creativity.
It's giving me space to just open up my mind to other things,
which has been really...
So that's been good.
My mum and dad left.
Obviously, they were here for a bit,
so that was really nice having them here.
But equally, I have enjoyed just kind of getting back to a routine.
Yeah, you've had a lot of visitors.
Like, I think, like...
And that's obviously again Dubai life,
but it is sort of...
It does get you out of your routine, doesn't it?
Yeah.
Like, this week I'm back in...
to full, like, healthy eating, um, exercise and that kind of thing.
And that makes me feel a lot better.
And then I had to be really exciting happen, which you already do know, but I'm going
to tell people about it.
So there is a girl who I discovered called Dior.
Um, she's a life coach.
And I basically discovered this girl by, um, listening to her on a podcast.
And I thought she was amazing, right?
The reason why I want to tell this story is because I genuinely feel like I manifested this
in reality.
So I loved, I've listened to this podcast, right?
She's, I don't have pronounced her name wrong, but I believe it's Bediaco.
And I listened to her on a podcast and I thought she was incredible.
She's so inspiring.
The way she articulates herself, the way she speaks, the way she, I don't know, directs the conversation.
I just think that she's incredible at what she does.
And I really enjoyed listening to her on this podcast.
I started listening to her on other podcasts as well.
and just discovering more about her.
Anyway, she then did a free online workshop, which I joined.
And it was at like 10pm or 11 p.m.
to buy time, which I'm always asleep by that time of night.
But I was like, no, I'm going to do it because I felt like I just needed to,
I don't know how to explain it, kind of like make myself known to her.
That makes sense.
I was like, I'm very inspired by this person.
And I just kind of need to make myself known.
I won't like this story could go on for ages but long story short I we ended up speaking and then
she sent me an email out completely out of the blue I'm coming over to Dubai do you want to
meet up and I was like what like yeah of course I do but in my head I'm like thinking this is
insane like this has come out of absolute nowhere left field um yeah so anyway we met up I met her last
week and it was really, really lovely and so inspiring and just so nice to, I suppose,
one meets somebody new, have a really good conversation and a lovely time, but also it
just reminded me that, you know, you really can make things happen if you start putting
action into play to make things happen.
Yeah.
So that was really nice and, like I say, very inspiring and an enjoyable conversation.
and I was explaining to her about my new podcast and how I really want to start speaking more
and putting myself out there more.
But I've been having this conversation with Jess now for a long time,
and she's been saying it to me, that I know that I needed to do video content for it.
And that really is the only way to acquire new listeners.
And so yesterday I made the jump to actually video an episode for the first time ever
and start creating content for it.
So yeah, I feel like I'm definitely, the wheels are moving.
They are.
And I think there's such a nice, like, sign from spirit, like, that they're backing you.
And also I feel like when they sort of bring people that you're sort of inspired by,
and I think it shows you like, this is the right path and these opportunities are there,
definitely for a real.
Yeah, yeah, it did feel like that.
It really did.
And, yeah, it just kind of, yeah, reaffirmed it all for me.
and yeah, it was good.
So, yeah, I'm glad that I've filmed at least one episode now.
I need to continue doing it.
But well done.
It's hard to log.
Like, I've been filming for the Zodiac readings in the app.
And like by the time I like edit them, upload them, it's like 12, obviously videos.
They're all about 10, 15 minutes long.
It's quite, it's quite a task.
It is.
It really is.
I find it particularly hard.
Like, I find recording this podcast so.
because we just literally sit and chat and like I said I feel very much like in a safe space
and probably because we don't actually really publicise it you know we don't really do we do
that much you know posting on Instagram about it or anything like that to actually acquire
that many new listeners other than obviously word of mouth um so that's probably also adds to that
why we feel like that but um obviously to be able to grow something that is something that you have to do
Yeah, absolutely. It's really good. I'm really pleased that you're doing this. I think, you know, it's definitely the next chapter for you. And like even when we did your year ahead reading, it's sort of like this is the next phase. And, you know, and even what you were saying before about with staff and things, like it's, I can't relate because I don't have people work for me like you do. But it must be just a load of fath, like people management, you know, and that side of a business. So I think this other path you're doing,
which doesn't need to be like that,
I think will be much more, like, creative for you
because I think you have to be so much more strategic with the salon.
I honestly think that's exactly what it is.
And like, so when I was having that hard week with the salon,
I met up with my accountant in that week.
And honestly, in my head, I was like, I don't know why I'm doing this.
Like, I just had one of them moments where I was like,
I don't know why I'm doing this.
And then I sat with my accountant and she was like,
you're doing so well.
Like, you know, your staff is so good.
you have such good retention.
I was looking at a like, really?
Like I've literally just had two people like that are going to be leaving.
And she was like, no, like you're doing amazing.
And she looks after a lot of different, you know, similar businesses.
And she was just saying to me how good it was.
And I was like, right, okay, I actually needed that.
And I really do think the people management is by far the hardest part of having a business.
Because when you employ people, because you're trying, like I do try to give the girls as much as I can of what they want,
whether that be the days off that they want or the times they want to work or things like that,
I really try.
But at the same time, when you're running a business with that many people, you can't give everybody what they want.
And it really is.
And they all want to work less and earn more.
And, you know, it doesn't always compute that way when you're in a big team.
And yeah, it is difficult.
It really is difficult.
It's so, like, I just think people and personalities, it's hard.
I think that's one thing I find with the business model I have,
like for it to become like something really huge,
which I don't even know if I want it to be.
I just want to help people.
Like you said,
but like this community on the podcast,
like I love my community of people.
Like,
you know,
obviously it's just,
I like the way it is.
But I do think sometimes,
if you do want to push your business and level up,
it is like,
oh,
you've got to employ people and whatever.
And like,
it's not,
it's always worth it.
Like I'm sometimes, like, you know, my outgoings are quite low,
so it's sort of manageable in that way.
But yeah, I do just think, I think you do a really good job.
I think you have to have clear boundaries.
I'd be a bloody nightmare.
I'd be given everyone flexible working, and then they would all just not turn up to work.
And I'd be like, oh, shit, you know, like, you've got to be firm.
And especially in Dubai, like, it's so transient.
People come and go, like, you know, if you were maybe working in a salon, you know,
in a town locally.
you might have the same hairdressers for like 10 years, you know.
100% yeah.
Like when I,
so I obviously been in Dubai now almost eight years.
The people that I worked with in the salon that I was in at home are still there now.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's just so different.
Yeah, it is.
It's so different.
And yeah,
I think you just have to learn to not take things obviously as personally.
And yeah, it is.
It is just difficult.
And like, it was funny because my accountant said to me,
she was like, you know, would you ever open up another one?
I was like, no.
Like, absolutely not.
Because I think what you just said about, you know, with your app, you want to grow it,
but you don't really want it to go to that level of where it does become, you know, less
like people doing it in an office and there, I just, that literally, for right now where I'm at
is like just not what I want it to be.
Like I just, I like sitting in my concern.
I do it all myself.
Like I do all the tech.
And I know people say, you know, you should delegate on whatever.
but I just, I like all my little parts of my little life and I like doing all my e-marketing and my techy bits and whatever.
And the thing is, you will delegate when you need to.
So when you have kids and when you can't do those things, you don't have time and you will delegate.
But I do agree.
I think that some people might get trapped in the thought of like bigger is better and I don't always believe that's the case.
Like for me with the salon, for example, obviously I got the shop next door, the work.
everything doubled and I'm glad I did that I don't take away from that but the business I
had before is not the business that I have now and that is why I do not want to open up another
shop because there'll be more of that it completely takes away from that personal element for me
and that's what's important to me it's not necessarily important to everyone but when I see
people opening multiple salons I think hats off to you because that's hard well I guess it's
like what do you want from life? Like when I think about like the life I have, you know,
I just strive for balance, you know, like all I want is a balanced life. Like I just want to,
you know, be successful, but not to my own detriment, you know, where I'm just like chasing my
tail. So like how I'm feeling this week is exactly like the energy I'd like to feel all the time. I know
that's not always possible. But like for me, this is what life's about.
Like I can go and sit in a coffee shop and have a coffee.
You know, it's sort of not rushing and, you know, always on the go.
And I think that it is important to get that balance.
And I think when people start businesses, like, and they delegate quite a lot,
they all sort of ask me, oh, do you delegate loads?
And I'm like, honestly, like, no.
Like I had Ellie working for me for a bit with the app and she did a great job for about four or five months for me.
And I needed that.
And then I've come back to doing things on my own.
I've now got someone helping me with social media.
I've literally just confirmed that today because I know that's taking up loads of my time now,
but it's not very expensive.
But like when people commit to loads of stuff, like financially, like I just think,
how can a business start?
Like, I don't know.
I didn't have money behind me when I started out.
I basically started a business and was like, I need to earn to live.
And that was the start.
It wasn't like I had a big cash that I could invest in it.
And I actually think that's been really good for me
because it's made me sort of work really hard.
Yeah.
Graft in that way, which you've been the same.
Obviously, I know you saved money,
but you saved money from working hard.
You know, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But anyway, we go off on a tangent.
But I just think it's a weird old world.
And social media is really weird at the moment, I feel.
This probably will connect with what we're going to talk about.
but like everyone is sort of really um everyone's on their high horse about what's right and wrong in
like what you should do in business or what you should do spiritually and I just feel like I just
don't even want to go on social media at the moment I don't know how you feel really I've just
yeah I don't I can't say I've really noticed it to be honest but I'm also I I do think we're
very different in terms of I can consume something and let it go yeah yeah I can
like look at something and just go like that and I forgot I've on to the next thing.
Whereas you're very good at like reading something or properly like looking at something
and dissecting it and like thinking about it.
Whereas I just don't do that.
I'm just like, yeah, cool.
Yeah.
So basically if you post content, I am reading it guys.
I'm probably that one follower.
But now I just find this sort of it is such a, I sort of think, oh God, everyone's sort of preaching.
And I'm just like, oh, like, you know, it's just quite tiring.
But anyway, shall we talk about the firehorse energy, which is obviously very exciting?
Absolutely.
It's so exciting.
It is excited.
So basically, I'm sure lots of you have seen through socials and whatever, but obviously the Lunar New Year is coming on the 17th of February.
So this is coming out just before that.
So you've got a bit of time to prep.
We have been in the year of the Wood Snake, okay?
So the wood snake is obviously like shedding and releasing things that like no longer serve you.
And obviously the fire horse has a very different energy.
All I keep seeing is like horses galloping really fast.
You know, it's that sort of real momentum, which is, you know, very exciting.
So we have that happening.
But there is so much astrology happening right now that really resonates with the Chinese New Year.
obviously I'm not a Chinese astrologer.
I look at things more traditionally with the astrology,
but it just makes total sense that this is all happening.
So Sam and I have spoken loads about our Saturn return.
We've got two more days, Sam,
and it's officially, officially over for another 30 years.
Oh, wow.
That's why I do you know what?
You've taken it easy this week and step back.
I've also done the same.
It's like, so those of you that arrive in your Saturn return
or have Pisces quite strong or Virgo in your chart,
you might have felt this sense of like the pressures kind of come off you.
Like you can see clearly and you were able to detach and have perspective.
I think that's what is happening.
And I think for lots of us with Pisces and Virgo in particular,
there is this sort of sense of like hope and excitement for what's to come.
And I think we're all feeling this,
but those zodiacs in particular have.
I've had quite a hard few years of building and learning.
And that for you, your business has grown, my business has grown.
You know, I'm now in a committed relationship.
Like, you know, you've had your children in your Saturn return.
Like huge things happen in your Saturn return.
So we've been going through that.
But collectively everyone would have been feeling this Saturn energy.
And the fact that it's changing is quite exciting.
Okay.
So that also connects with this Chinese new year.
So for me, how do I feel about it collectively?
Well, we're in the waiting room, basically.
This is where we're at.
We're sitting in the waiting room and we're literally waiting.
And I think we're all just like wanting to get on with it.
A bit like I was saying with the garden,
I want to just plant everything.
But if I plant it, they'll die.
You know, it's that like, just give it a few more weeks.
So we are in this period of like the unknown.
Now, how I sense this energy is actually quite hard to predict, okay?
So sometimes when I see an energy, I think, oh, yeah, I can see this happening, this happening, this happening.
I think whatever we think is going to happen, it will be different, okay?
Oh, okay.
Yeah, so I think we're trying to predict, oh, you know, my life's going to change in this way with the firehorse or my life's going to do this.
and it might not, it might be something else.
And that something else will be good.
It just will be unexpected maybe.
That's sort of the feeling I have, okay,
that could just be for my own life personally.
It could be like your business changes in ways that you didn't expect, you know.
So like, so for example, with you Sam,
a salon closes down, they've got five nail girls
and they all knock on your door.
And all of a sudden, you're like, I've got five nail girls.
we're going to just do so many more nails and all of a sudden you're like we've got 10 nails
stuff and this has completely changed the business do you know what I mean?
And you're like I just wasn't I wasn't expecting that.
I wasn't predicting that.
It's that sort of thing.
So that's why we feel excited.
Well I think for lots of us we do because it's this excitement of the unknown.
Now Aries is going through quite a lot.
There's, you know, Saturn's going to move into Aries.
So is Neptune.
So Ares is the zodiac of making things happen.
So the fact that we've got this, you know,
Chinese New Year of the Fire Horse and a lot happening in Ares,
it's sort of like go, go, go energy.
And I think we're all sort of warming up.
We're all stretching.
We're all warming up.
And we're sort of feeling this.
So that's sort of the sense I have.
I think, you know, for me, how I see this, you know,
if you've got yourself organized over sort of the shedding of the snake,
I think you'll just sort of glide into it.
If you haven't shed it or you've been quite resistant to things in your life that aren't
aligned, you might not find the momentum as like enjoyable.
So say you're ignoring things, I don't know, in your personal life or in your business.
So say, I'm just going to give a business example because it's easier.
you know, I'm doing psychic readings and then all of a sudden they just stop and I'm like, oh shit, like I no longer have anyone wanting readings and Spirit are like, we told you it's not aligned.
We've just, we've just completely stopped this now and you're like, oh shit, but I haven't prepared for that.
How else am I going to get my income?
You know, where for me, I love my readings, but they're not, they're not everything now.
I've got the psychic circle.
I've got the psychic academy.
I've got psychic coaching.
So in the year of this, well, in my sat and return, I've been building other elements of my business,
so I'm not reliant on that, you know.
And that's basically what this could feel like.
If you've relied on something that doesn't serve you, have you built things to support it?
Does that make sense?
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know, and that could be like in your personal life in relationships and it might be in friendships,
you know, you might find the things could sort of change or disappear quite quickly.
so maybe friends that aren't serving you or if you're in a relationship that's not serving you
all of a sudden there could be some sort of changes you know and it could feel quite sort of
off um i don't want people to worry about that but i want you to know that that is sort of what this
energy is it's not all like oh my god it's amazing we're all going to be really successful
you know it's going to it's going to face different things in different people
depending on where you're at in your life, what your astrology chart is, the work you've done,
you know, what you're manifesting. So there's so many parts that come into this. But what I would say,
stay grounded, you know, the firehawks can move quick. Quick isn't always right, okay? Just because
that's the energy, it doesn't mean that's the right energy. So what I would say is just keep
yourself grounded in sort of decision making, you know, things may move quickly.
but you might just want to slow it down slightly, you know, be more present, you know,
because you might lose that.
Like I've been feeling that in my own life where I'm quite quick to rush and then I'm not
actually enjoying the season I'm in, you know?
Yeah.
So it's things that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think we all do that.
It's sort of like, so that's what I would say.
But if you're wanting to work on projects and sort of expand things, then I would definitely
do it like if you want to grow a business like definitely um you know if you want to really manifest
things i would do it in this this lunar cycle in particular at this lunar year because i think it will
happen if you sort of manifest um spring equinox is coming up work with fire like you know in
the psychic circle if you remember um there is a ritual a fire ritual that you can look at i would
probably do that where you work with the spirit of the fire because that's the energy that
we're pulling through. And fire, the spirit of the fire is so powerful. You know, I literally
just light a candle, look at the flame and I talk to the spirit of the fire and I ask for its help,
you know, on certain things. Yeah. I've only gone watch that video now. Yeah, watch it. It's good.
It's really good. So there's so many little things you can do intuitively. But you will feel like
you're sitting in the waiting room right now and kind of enjoy the waiting room.
You know, we get impatient in that in-between space.
It's the same, you know, Sam, you said something before where you were like,
why am I even doing this with the salon, you know?
Yeah.
About two weeks ago, I literally said to my mum and then I said it to Ben, I was like,
I just feel like I want to quit.
Like I feel so exhausted of like trying to build a business, maintain a business.
like I'm just going to go and get a job like a garden centre, you know, like it was a real
sort of like and usually those moments where you have that is because you are going for a
breakthrough and you said this to me and it's that sort of manifesting breakthrough where sometimes
it can feel like you hit breaking point. Then you go to the energy which I think we're both
in which goes, oh fuck it. Do you know what? I'm just going to chill out a bit. Like I'm just going to
detach. I'm just going to sort of let this energy move instead of trying to control it.
And actually when you hit that point, it can start to build and grow. And I always said it's like,
you know, I manifested like my business, like I'll see Ben. Just before all these things happened,
it felt so empty my life. Like it was so empty. It was so weird. And it wouldn't be for long.
It might be for a few weeks or a few mum.
where I felt this deep emptiness.
And Spirit would say it has to get empty
because we're trying to make room for these new things to come.
And if it's full, how can we bring you this new thing?
And I was a bit like, oh, and now I'm much more comfortable
when that emptiness energy arrives.
So if you are feeling this sort of waiting room, empty kind of feeling,
it's actually a really good feeling and try and enjoy it because it is making room.
You've clearly cleared out a lot of stuff.
Yeah, definitely.
I relate that as well to like when I was pregnant and when I was waiting to have the girls.
And I speak to, I've got a few friends now that are pregnant and they're like it, say like, you know,
they're between 25 and 30 weeksish.
So they've got like another like 10 weeksish, I don't know, a bit longer.
I can't know how long you were pregnant for, but they've still got time to go.
And I just am saying to them, I'm like, just enjoy it.
Like, I know it's hard.
I know that you're tired and your body's hurting and it could be uncomfortable,
but you will never, ever get that time back again, ever.
Because even when you have, if you were to go for a second one,
you have another child to look after.
And when you're in that time of your life where you only have to worry about yourself
and this other thing that you're growing thing, this child that you're,
growing or two in my case like it was such a nice time to just relax and just be still before the
chaos and I I definitely relate to that in terms of what you were saying like I completely agree and
that's again same my this week I'm just detached from it I'm like yeah I'm going to go for a walk
I'm going to get my steps in I'm going to do these things and I actually for like the first time
ever and I was on a walk the day and I thought you know what and I had them with me my earphones but
I thought, no, I'm not going to put my ear fend in.
I'm not going to send voice notes.
I'm just going to walk.
And I'm just going to, you know, be with my thoughts and just enjoy this quietness.
Because, yeah, you do sometimes have to just do that and step back a bit, like you say.
And also really good, what you said there, I really struck a chord with me is you'd said about how, you know, if everything's full, how can we make space for what you want.
And it's, that literally is for me, like, for example, with the salon.
on. Like I was at a position where I couldn't take on any new hairdressers.
And I was having people, you know, inquire and speak to me who would have been amazing.
But I was like, I really can't take anyone else on. So yeah, I get it.
It is. And also just to add, which I forgot to mention that this lunar eclipse is happening on,
lunar eclipse, this lunar new year is happening on a solar eclipse. Okay.
So it's happening on one day.
Is this the 20th of Feb?
No, this is the 17th of Feb.
17th and it's like a massive day.
Yeah, yeah.
The 20th, there are some other things going on,
but I won't go into that.
It's quite confusing.
Okay.
There's some other stuff that's really huge.
Yeah, go to the...
Yeah, if you're in the psychic circle,
listen to the February podcast,
that will, it's just a bit more detailed.
But basically, the solar eclipse is,
happening in Aquarius, okay?
If you are a member of the Psychic Circle, actually just while I'm on it,
we do have the first live call happening for Circle members on that evening,
4 o'clock UK time, 8 o'clock Dubai time.
And I'm going to be really helping you understand about the lunar energy of the new year,
the solar eclipse, and then we're going to do a really nice guided meditation
to that really channel the portal.
So if you're a member, you can access that.
If you're not a member, come and join.
You can get a month for free.
You can see all the details on my Instagram page.
It's going to be quite a powerful time.
But anyway, so.
Sorry, just to check again, that's the 17th at 4pm, UK time, 8 p.m.
Dubai time.
17th of sub, just put in my calendar.
And it'll be recorded.
So if people can't access it live,
you can literally get the recording within half an hour after.
So it's going to be really nice.
And this is going to be a new monthly theme for the psychic circle.
So there'll be a live call every month on a topic.
And basically it will be like a guided meditation or I'll share the energy update of what's going on on that particular day.
Or we'll do a ritual together.
We've got the Spring Equinox Challenge coming up as well.
So that's going to be like a, I think I'm only going to do it as a 10 day.
manifesting challenge instead of 21.
And because I think that is good.
Yeah, I think 21 was too long last year.
And it's going to be like 10 days and it will all be in the app.
So you'll get like a notification every day.
And then on the final day, we're going to do a live call
where we'll really sort of bring all of our energies together of our manifesting.
So like, you know, it does align with all this astrology, you know.
And that's the way I build my business, you know.
it is intentional, like it is supporting you from the hibernation time of just taking it easy
to now building up the momentum. But also what's really nice with live calls is it's group energy
and people have probably felt this that have joined my circles and my live workshops before.
It's way more powerful when you're in a room with a load of women or, you know, women and a few men.
Yeah, I absolutely agree. You know?
It's so different to watching it back.
Like watching it back is still great, but if you can do it live, it's, it's a little more
or even just when you do it on your own. It's lovely and sometimes it's good to do it on your own.
But anyway, it's really nice in a group.
So if you fancy it and you remember it's on the homepage, you've just got to scroll and you'll get the information.
And if you want to join, go to my Instagram, Jessica Marie underscore holistic.
Go to the link on my homepage and then you will see how to set up your subscription and then how to
download the app. It's very, it's very easy. Anyway, so this solar eclipse is really transformative,
okay? We're actually in the eclipse portal already. And eclipse is ask for deep change, okay?
So, you know, what I would say to people is, like it's not a coincidence that this lunar new
year is happening on the same day as this eclipse, okay? Now, it's happening in Aquarius. Aquarius is about
the future. It's about technology, innovation.
and AI, all this crazy new stuff that we don't actually really understand yet.
We're just sort of getting a grip of it.
And it's asking us to sort of look at things differently.
It's asking us to change our perspectives.
It's also a very humanitarian sort of energy.
So, you know, the world's pretty fucked up.
You know, there's so many awful things happening, you know.
It's like maybe we're going to sort of see some changes.
where there's, you know, maybe Prince Andrews going to go to prison, you know, it's that sort of thing.
Oh, that's a little prediction.
Yeah, like, you know, I think he will.
And he should.
Yeah, he should.
But it's that sort of like, oh, God, this would never have happened before in the age of this sort of capricorn energy.
But now we're in Aquarius.
The old rules don't exist.
Like, actually, you know.
So, yeah, there's quite.
a lot there are. I've wrote a few predictions down about that, but there's going to be some other,
like, changes that maybe we're not expecting, but we, and it is more humanitarian. And so, yeah,
there's quite a lot there. But anyway, think about that collectively, but then think about that
for you internally. Maybe, like, how you want freedom in your life, how you want to express
yourself. Maybe some things are going to start changing. Like, loads of people are going to be
different. Like the astrology is so wild that like we have to just grieve the last past version of
ourselves and accept that that is no longer and that we are moving into a new era and everyone will be.
Whether they want to or don't want to or whatever, we're all going to feel different because
we've all chose to reincarnate at this time and we've been waiting for this year for a very long time.
So it feels like a bit of a climax really and like this extreme explosion of energy.
So I just think, yeah, honour it.
My advice to anyone on a day of a solar eclipse or a lunar eclipse is active intention on that day.
So I would sort of be mindful on the 16th and 17th just to be very intentional with like what you eat,
what you say, you know, what you drink, how you exercise, you know, all those sorts of things
are really important because you're honouring the eclipse and that then takes you on to like the next
six month cycle. If you start that day with really intentional behaviour, that will continue
over that eclipse portal for you.
Love that. I'm making a note about that. Yeah, so put a little reminder in your diary.
16th and 17th for Feb. Be intentional. Be conscious.
I know you spiritual babes are all the time,
but maybe just a little bit more on those two days, if you can.
It's pancake day as well.
So eat your pancakes.
But, you know, maybe eat them with more gratitude than normal.
You know, be like these pancakes are bloody lovely.
They're so tasty.
Like these simple ingredients have made this delicious thing, you know?
It's something like as simple as that.
So when you make your pancakes,
think of me.
Yeah.
Yeah, so that's basically what I feel for the energy.
I hope that all made sense.
Yeah, no, I love to, I love listening to it.
I always love when you get into the zone.
Shall I pull some cards for us and see what this is going to do?
Let's do it because I've not done this for a little while.
Right, okay.
I thought, why don't I pull, I've got some really nice angel cards.
So I'm going to pull one of those each because they have like a written message.
and then I'm also going to pull a tarot card.
And it's just sort of like general energy for the lunar new year.
I did actually just post on Instagram a message fruit zodiac for what this lunar new year is going to look like for you.
So have a look on my Instagram.
Yeah, I'll look at that.
Yeah, it's quite nice.
A few people have said it resonates already, which is good.
All right, so let's go into Sam's energy first.
Oh, love it.
So it says make bold and ambitious choices.
Great progress is possible, important relationships with people who share your vision.
Love that.
Oh, wow.
That's good.
That's really nice.
So like to me, that card is obviously you're bold and ambitious anyway, but it's reaffirming
to continue that.
And it feels to me that like, you know, a bit like that Dior that you went and met,
it's like those sorts of people aligning with you that have that sort of energy is where
your success will come. So that's very validating. You happy with that one? Yeah, definitely.
Nice. How could I not be? Not a little message. Okay. And then let's see what the spirit
have to say in tarot. Okay. So this is really interesting, the Five of Cups. The Five of Cups is a card
I'll show you it, where he looks at what has spilled and not what he's achieved. So,
what this is saying to you is not to focus on like the staff that have left and things like that
you're you're focusing on things that you know don't serve you and actually if you turned around
there's some cups that are full with really good staff and really good energy so it's basically
a reminder don't dwell on what's not served you don't sit with that actually look at what is
serving you and focus more of your time on that because that's where success will come yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, I like that.
Right, let's pull some cards for me then.
It's me.
Get a bit nervous.
Don't be.
Oh, I pick two.
I hope that's okay.
Oh, okay.
So they just, they came out together.
So I've got the World Card, a very happy ending,
coming full circle, spiritual growth and insight.
Oh, this is a lovely one.
And then, Tenerverial.
there is so very much to be grateful for financial success and the promise of retirement
of rich and rewarding family life.
Well, I do need to sort out my pension.
So maybe that's a reminder.
But I'm pleased about the financial success because I'm working very, very hard at the moment.
And I do feel like Saturn has really kept everything quite,
I've had to learn a lot of lessons with money.
And I feel like I would like, you know, sort of putting it out there.
to have a bit more sort of financial freedom, you know?
Yeah.
So that's nice that that's come through.
And the World Card is like a card of completion,
which makes sense with like the Saturn return.
It's sort of coming to this completion and sort of full circle.
And it is full circle.
It's crazy how life is.
It just shows you, I always say to people in readings,
so much can change in a year.
and people go yeah yeah yeah but i'm like it really can but your whole there's a phrase people
overestimate what can happen in a year and underestimate what can happen in 10 years yeah absolutely
yeah it's mad sometimes so yeah right let's see what's the okay so i've got the 10 of ones which
is sort of like it can be a bit like carrying a burden at times but it can be just carrying a lot of
things. So I think this message from spirit is just be mindful of like what I carry that can be a
burden, so sort of worries and, you know, like maybe scrolling on Instagram and being too
bothered by, you know, random people I've never met in my life's Instagram post, you know.
Yeah.
I think it's because I just feel energy so deeply. I just everything impacts. I'm like, you know,
but yeah, the 10 of ones is just be mindful of what you carry and, and, you know, and, you.
you know, it's a lot to carry.
But it kind of reminds me of the tenor ones of St. Christopher, where it's, no, is it St. Christopher?
Where he's got Jesus basically on his shoulder.
It's my, it's my, on my charm.
I think he's St. Christopher.
If I've got it wrong, just tell me.
But it's like carrying responsibility, but, you know, it helps people.
I think that's basically what that also means.
Anyway, that was nice.
Yeah, and do you put a card?
Shall I pour a card for the listeners?
Go on.
Hello listeners.
I'm collectively passing a message onto you from the spirit world for this lunar cycle.
Let's see what spirit has to say.
Oh, oh, love it.
Make a wish.
Dreams become a reality, a joyful time of life.
So listeners, take a moment to make a wish.
And Sam, let's do the same.
Let's make a wish for this lunar cycle.
of something that we would like to achieve in some way.
Let's take a moment.
Okay.
I just made mine.
We made yours.
I've made mine.
Amazing.
Well, guys, let's put all our wishes together now in like a bubble of light
and we send light to everybody's wishes
that are listening to this podcast that have made a wish, okay?
And send so much light to it so that spirit can see it always one big thing
and help all of us on this little journey of life that we're on.
