Hello and welcome back to spiritually speaking with me Sam and with me Jess. Welcome back
everyone. Welcome back. Has it been two weeks? I think so. I've lost count to be honest of where we're
at with it all. I know same. We've had a bit of a, well we actually chatted this morning didn't we? So we
have we've both just been out on a walk and we've basically had our little catch up before we
give the catch-up debrief on the pod because there's just things that we just need to just chat
about and you know and like obviously we catch up here on the podcast but like we couldn't record
that catch-up that we've just had because it's so just rambling about different random shit that
like people don't need to hear. I also feel like when we catch up I talk about like my deep
thoughts on something and like an epiphany and I'm like what about this? So it's sort of like this
little creative outlet
isn't it? Yeah, it is
which is really nice but yeah it was so funny
because we basically just went on a walk
obviously not together because Jess is in the UK
and I am in Dubai
but we sent each other a picture when we were ready to go for the
walk and I was like oh I just need to put my shorts on
because it's like it was about half 11 here
and it's gone hot like half 11 and you were like
all wrapped up
I had like my dry robe on big fluffy scarf
but I did have sunglasses on because it's sunny today, which is nice.
Yeah, that is nice.
My favourite type of winter day, but yeah, we are living polar opposites.
Once again, in a different way.
I know, yeah, exactly.
Actually, I do think winter, today might actually be like the first day of winter here
because the fog this morning was so thick.
And that's normally when the weather changes in Dubai, when it gets foggy.
Yeah, I saw that on socials and I did think, oh, I remember that waking up
and not being able to look out your window, like, it was so weird.
Yeah, and driving and not being able to see the car in front of you.
Like, it's a really weird thing to experience.
Yeah.
But it always happens here when, like, you're going into winter or you're going into summer.
And obviously, when it's the one when you're going into summer, you're like, no.
Yeah.
Where this one, everyone's, like, hyping up for winter now, aren't they?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, absolutely.
So what have you been up to, my love?
But you haven't already told me.
Yeah, well, do you know what?
I had a really good weekend.
So me and Ben went to Bristol on the weekend.
Have you ever been to Bristol?
I went, no, I haven't.
I thought I've been to Brighton.
Yeah, yeah.
I thought that that was where you were, but it's not, it's different.
Similar.
Yeah, so no, I've never been to Bristol.
But it sounded like you had such a good time.
It was so good.
So I basically have never been to Bristol.
Now, a few people from there that I worked with.
And whenever they would speak about,
Bristol, I just sort of thought it was a bit like, you know, like Birmingham or just, you know, a
normal city. Like, not that like, like, Birmingham down, but like, you know. Remember when
you always thought I was from Birmingham, by the way? I swear for like the first six months.
I was like, Sam's from Birmingham. It's so weird. I think it was maybe a year. I think it was
longer than six months. I think if someone asked you now, you'd still say it was from Birmingham.
I feel like, no, I know where you're from now? I think, do you know what it is? I've got a friend that
went to university in Birmingham, and her accent changed when she went to uni.
And it sounds a bit like your accent.
So I was like, oh, and then I just put the two and two together.
Which is hilarious, because I have family that live in Birmingham,
and my accent couldn't be further from a bummy accent.
If anything, people like think I'm scouse sometimes,
which is nuts because I do not sound like a scouse at all.
But obviously, Manchester and Liverpool are quite close to one another.
I don't even sound like a mank either.
No, but I think it is...
Maybe to you, but I don't to actual Mancunians.
No, but I think, like, with my friend,
it's like the twang of sort of the southern and the northern,
or not northern, middle.
But yeah, honestly, I genuinely was adamant.
You were a Birmingham girl for a long time.
But do you know what's about?
I know where you live now.
You're Manchester.
Are you sort of on the edge of Manchester?
I am Cheshire, to be honest.
Chesh is a bit posh, aren't you?
I am.
I am on the posh side, I won't lie, yes.
Yeah, that's nice.
A nice little flex for me.
I will come up to Manchester to Cheshire at some point when you're back in your travels
and I'll get the feel free.
I'll get trained to Birmingham.
Yeah, you will.
You'll be like, I'm here.
I'll be like, jeers.
Brumbes.
But no, so anyway, I went to Bristol and we had the best time.
So Ben has like this hobby where he plays this sort of card game.
It's very clever and.
Like, I don't really understand it.
Is it poker?
No, no, no.
No, it's sort of like kind, well, I don't want to say it's like Pokemon because it's not,
but it's sort of like a very nerdy game, but like I think, you know, he loves it
and it's good for him to use his brain in this way.
And what comes with it is tournaments, right?
Oh, right.
So we were laughing that I'm like a wag going to this tournament.
but I was like, I think I'm the only wag.
I don't think most men that go to these things have girlfriends or wives.
So, yeah.
But anyway, so he loves it and it's an excuse for us to go and do things.
So we went to Bristol and he has his brother there.
I have my cousin there.
So we were like, great.
Like we've got this lovely weekend.
You do your thing.
I'm, you know, obviously I'm happy to go and do my own thing, which is really nice.
Then we can have some dinners with family.
Oh, it was just like an elite weekend.
Like really good double dates.
Love that.
Like really lovely because it was family.
So it's always just so easy, isn't it?
You know, when you sort of spent time in that way.
And I had the most spiritual weekend of my life,
probably more than in Asia traveling, which is bad.
So, like, I probably am going to end up talking for quite a while.
So sorry, but hopefully you'll find it interesting.
but I've been having a bit of, I wouldn't say I've been my best self the last sort of
few weeks, maybe even month or so, because of work, because of the app and the pressure
I've been putting on myself. And I feel like I've lost my spark a bit because I've sort of
been really in this like pressure deadlines, which is so unnatural for me. And when that
happens, which the last time that happened was probably, you know, my corporate life.
life. I kind of lose my connection to spirit. And, you know, and I was aware that was happening,
not like I was still incredibly psychic, but more my own sort of spiritual routine and sort of
mindfulness that would normally appear. So Bristol come at a really good time. And I made no plans
other than these dinners, right? So I was like, you know, just sort of enjoy it. And it just ended up
being so magical because
the
weirdly just sort of looked on
TikTok and TikTok
so good for stuff like this
like I love TikTok
it's just so
it's good for doom scrolling
but it's also really good to find things
like restaurants and stuff
that's going on so I just
typed in spiritual things in
Bristol and then this post came
up and it was from last year so it was
2024 psychic fair
in the middle of October and
it was like, I was like, do you know what, I'm just going to search the company because I've got
a feeling it's, it's this weekend, like, searched it. It's this, it was that weekend that I was
there. And I was like, right, this is why I'm meant to be here. So it's like, okay, before that,
I had gone to this place called the Haunted Bookshop, which is really cool. So if you're in
Bristol, I'd definitely go or near. And they've got some really nice spiritual books. And there's
a tarot card reader that was downstairs. And when we went in, I was like, oh, do you
what, I might try and book a read him.
Kept trying to book on her little website, just wouldn't book.
Like, everything I tried, error message kept coming up.
And I was like, do you know what?
It's not meant to be.
Like, there's something else for me, like, you know, and whatever.
And then I found the psychic fair.
So I was like, brilliant.
This is where I'm meant to go.
But this psychic fair was like 40 minutes away.
So I had to get an Uber and made my little cousin come with me.
She's like new to the spiritual world.
And I was like, right, Grace, are you up for an adventure?
She's like, okay, I'm like, we're going to a psychic fair in this random town.
And I don't know if it's going to be good, if it's going to be terrible.
But like, we've just got to go, right?
We ended up in traffic as well, right?
So you're thinking, bloody hell, it's taking us, like, nearly an hour to get to this place.
If it's shit, like, it's just going to feel such a flop.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I was like, no, come on.
Like, I feel like spirit.
I've really guided me to go to this place, right?
And like I was saying, I've sort of felt like I'd lost a little bit of my spark.
And this felt like really guided.
I really felt like spirit were taking me there.
Anyway, we get to this village, it's beautiful.
It's like from the holiday.
It's like cobble buildings.
It's really old.
It was stunning, this high street.
And the town hall that this psychic fairing was beautiful.
It was, I was expecting like some.
you know,
village hall.
It was like this grand, like old Tudor, beautiful building.
So anyway, we went in and I was like, yes, this is where we're meant to be.
And it was just like stools and stalls of tarot card readers, psychics,
healers, crystals, everything.
And I was just like, oh my God, I feel like I'm in spiritual heaven.
So a little bit of advice to anyone that goes to these things.
Don't rush your decision of who you want to go and have a session with.
Just walk around the room and see who you're drawn to.
Don't even look at the price.
Don't even look at their availability.
Just see where the space is for you energetically.
And that's exactly what I did.
And I sat with this lovely lady, like she was an older woman.
And, yeah, it was just a really, really powerful reading for me.
so she you know when you have a reading obviously so personal isn't it you can sort of relay your
messages but they only really make sense for you but there was one thing she started off with
so I've been having some sessions with my therapist recently and she kept saying to me
Jess what's the reality of right now like that's the thing my therapist kept saying
what's the reality and I'm like everything's fine everything's you know I'm okay I'm doing
well blah blah blah she's like right okay so if we go into the reality of now everything's fine but the
minute you go to your future you start worrying the minute you go to your past you feel all these
emotions what's the reality of right now and then basically this psychic reader just said to me
i just need to tell you can you just think about just for today like i just need you to think about
just for today and i was like do you know what that makes a lot of sense to me and maybe to someone
else should be like what's that about but it felt like spirit had said to me through my therapist
through this woman like you're not being present you know you're so focused on your goals right now
and all these other things you're not being present so I was like yeah okay meant to be here
this is you know and then she just sort of pulled my cards and gave me messages and she was really
sweet like she actually she really liked sort of my energy and she was like this project you're working on
it's really spiritual.
And she was like, I can see Brian Cox, who's the astronomer who's like on BBC.
And she was like, he's made astronomy accessible to normal people.
And he's made it like interesting.
And she was like, that's what you're here to do with astrology and psychic.
Like you're here to make it accessible to everyone,
something that's always felt, you know, inaccessible.
So I thought that was a really nice message because that's how I feel.
that, you know, I'm bridging that gap between sort of the normal world and the spiritual
world. So that was really nice. Lots of lovely things about my relationship, which I'll be
honest, I've never had before, you know, whenever I've had psychic greetings, they're normally
go, I'm not sure he's the one or, you know, and I'm like, oh God, or, you know, sort of, yeah,
you have in, now's not the time for relationships, which is a message that I know when I say to
people you hate it and I know I've hated it in the past when people have said that to
be um but she just said to me um you've met you've met your person like he's you know he's so
lovely um and you know you've got trust you too like you really are built on trust and she's like
you've never had this before you've never had trust in your relationships which i haven't um so yeah
it was just a nice sort of message that she she said to me
And you do know that this isn't all too good to be true.
This is actually your rewards now, which felt really nice because I think that can happen
when things are going well in our life.
We can sabotage it, can't we?
Yeah, absolutely.
You think like, well, this has got to be too good to be true or, yeah, what's going
to be around the corner if this is going too well?
I completely get it.
Yeah.
So that was that.
It was really powerful.
Lots of other things were said and lots of lovely cards.
validation but it was just what I needed. It didn't need to be anything too crazy. It was just
it spoke to me in a really nice way. Then I had an aura reading. So they take a picture of you and
you have the colours around you. So I put it on my Instagram story. So if you saw it, it was
sort of orange and yellow, which is like really creative. So the theme that everyone was talking to me
of this day was like how creative I am and how I'm building this project and like it's going
be successful and I felt like I really needed that because you do worry don't you like I feel a bit
vulnerable at the moment in business so it feels nice to get that validation yeah it's always nice to
hear that and also though I think you know like when you did my year ahead reading you're that
voice for a lot of other people so it's nice for you to get that back yeah exactly well exactly
that and you know what we actually had um we've we've been so I keep talking about them but it's just
because we've done lots together the last few weeks.
But we, he said to me about the year ahead reading.
And he was like, who does yours?
And I was like, well, no one.
And he sat and did it for me.
And he shuffled the car.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
So bless him.
He sat and shuffling.
He's such a babe, isn't he?
But like, I felt like, oh, no one's really asked me that before.
And he was like, well, how about I ask you the questions about your guy?
and your lessons and because normally I just do it myself and just journal it like you know
that works really well but bless him so we sat there and I just answered my questions he pulled
the cards obviously he didn't really know the meanings of the cards but with him pulling them
he's detached so then I could get really clear messages and it was really lovely so I do feel like
yeah you forget how much you've got to fill up your own cup oh no bless me yeah that is so cute
so yeah very sweet so anyway so that that was that and then um randomly i found a crystal shop in
bristol and again i would recommend this crystal shop if anyone's in the area and it's called crystals
so you should be able to find it and um she had a sale on right this shop has been open for 10 years
um and this was back in the high street when we came back and um i bought the most beautiful piece
of rose courts right and it was it was massive like it was probably i'd say 30 centimeters tall like
you know sort of size of a ruler yeah yeah and sort of 10 20 maybe 15 centimeters wide so you know it's a big
old chunky piece right i have never really been able to afford crystals like that because i find
they could be really expensive or they're not legit like so you know when it's not like oh it's
not really worth the big crystal it's not it's not real but this shop was legit like very lovely she was like
a real witch. So I went in there and I saw this big one and I thought, oh, I wouldn't be
able to afford that, you know, and you sort of have that, like, fault. But I had a look and I was
like, no, I can. Like, this is, you know, infallible. And she was like, why don't you pick
up? Let's have a look at it, right? As soon as I picked it up, I just, like, burst into tears.
Like, it was such an overwhelming, like, surge of emotions. It was really weird. Like,
I know it was really spiritual.
Sorry, excuse me.
But I've not really had that with a crystal before.
Yeah.
That was just meant to me.
No, no, I can't say how.
But I'm not as like attached to my emotions as you are.
Yeah, true, true, true.
And I think I was feeling quite sort of on,
everything was sort of on the edge this weekend.
And it worked out in a really beautiful way for me.
but yeah so anyway like sob cried no reason it just sort of moved through me and i was like
okay well this is this is for you know me so i'm gonna get it um and i was like it was massive and
heavy so then like carrying that around was a bit of a mission so i took it to my my cousin's flat
but um even that i felt like i don't know i just felt so lucky and so grateful and then i felt like i had this
I got led to this psychic fair, you know, it was just sort of so surreal.
So anyway, next day, obviously, Ben's out all day.
And he was like, what are you going to do today?
And I was like, do you know what?
I'm going to go to the cathedral for the Sunday service because, you know,
I go to all these temples and spiritual places in the world.
I should really go and honor the religion of, you know, where I'm from.
So I went, the cathedral was stunning, very beautiful.
and the bells were ringing and I ended up being like in the second row because I got there
quite early so I felt like I was really in it you know and um it's if I was to be really
honest you know I believe in a higher power but do I believe in the structure of religion
no but it's an opportunity to connect to something in a collective way so I I like that
some of the readings were a bit intense like it was sort of um
you know, if you're a bad person, you know, shame on you sort of thing.
And I was, you know, you sort of forget that sort of, I was like, oh, this is sort of, you know,
this is it the same as, yeah, I was like, it's a bit different to the Buddhist temples, but hey-ho.
And then I sort of zoned out because the priest was like talking and talking.
And I zoned out and started having this really intrusive fault, okay?
I had this fault of what happened if this cathedral collapsed, right?
So random.
And I was like, and if it did, would I have enough time to run out and like, could I call my family and say, don't worry, I'm safe, right?
And as I was thinking this fault, I thought, God, you're so nuts.
Like, why do you have these faults?
And then literally, I zoned back into the priest and he went, for example, the foundations of this cathedral.
if it collapsed and it fell, what would happen?
And let me know, let me say to all, it's not going to collapse.
The foundations are very good.
And I was like, what the fuck?
Like it was a fun of premonition, really random.
And then I felt like spirit around me laughing.
And it was like they were like, this is really funny.
You're in church, but we're still here.
And you're like, we're just going to give you these little premonitions of these random things.
So I found that quite funny.
and I just sort of felt spirit close to me.
Anyway, because I went to this cathedral,
there was a coffee shop close to the cathedral that I went to,
had a smoothie, looked at the side.
There had a sign that said tarot, major arcana, art exhibition.
And it was only the weekend that I was in Bristol.
It's wild.
Yeah.
And it literally was like, out of all the coffee shops,
why did I feel the need to go to Sunday service in the cathedral?
like it was all just very you know and also in the cathedral i had the wine and bread and i felt
really bad because i think only like christians are meant to have it um so i mean you there
well everyone got up so i was like okay and i expected it to be water but it was wine i was like
blimey what time a day was that 10 o'clock they do go for it you know it's all to do with
Jesus and the whole offering of the bread every, yeah.
So, but I was like, I felt a bit embarrassed for getting up because I was like, oh, am I meant to?
And then, because I was at the front row, I had to walk out the cathedral sort of after the big, like, I don't know what they were doing, but they walked down the aisle.
Well, they sort of walked down the aisle and there's the choir, you know, like really full on choir.
It was amazing.
Like, it was really beautiful.
and then I'm sort of behind them
and then the priest was like
thank you so much for coming in
and I was like oh it's my first time actually
and then I was thinking oh no
they saw me take the bread and wine
do they think I'm like
they just want you to come back
they want to have as many
they try and get as many people in as possible
don't they yeah they were like you know
we're very happy to have you here
so thanks anyway so
went to the coffee shop saw this sign
went to this art exhibition
it was unreal I have been
painting tarot cards myself recently because I do want to design my own ones so it just felt like
so amazing that this art exhibition was there so obviously I spent a fortune on artwork and then
I was just like oh my god like I feel so lucky like so connected and I had no plans that weekend none
and I just felt like spirit communicated with me.
me in such unbelievable ways.
Now, to some people, they might just think it's a coincidence,
but to me it's magic.
Like, no doubt about it.
You can't call all of that a coincidence.
Yeah.
It was just like everything awakened deeper.
And I think what it sort of showed me,
now, the moral of the story is basically, you know,
I was putting all this pressure on myself.
I really felt like I'd sort of lost my,
my, not my spirituality, that's unfair.
but lost my...
You just dimmed it a bit.
Yeah, exactly that.
And then it's like this weekend,
Spirit were like, boom, here we go, girl.
Don't worry, we've got you.
It's all right.
Like, there's no sort of punishment that, you know,
you've disconnected.
We're always here and we're reminding you of that.
And I just felt really looked after and really safe.
Yeah, I feel like they were reminding it of you,
when you didn't make any plans as well.
So it's like when you actually stop and take a step back,
this is what happens.
Yeah, yeah, exactly that.
And I think it has sort of given me perspective on detachment
because I think since coming home,
you sort of get back into that societal way of living
and you get very attached to building and goals and all that stuff.
So yeah, I think it was quite powerful for me.
And then another thing that happened.
So I was talking to my therapist and I was like, you know,
I'm not really making.
time for hobbies, like, you know, in Dubai and Thailand, it's so easy. You just rock up to a
yoga charler and just have a lovely time. There's a full moon thing, whatever. And she was like,
well, let's find somewhere. Like, why don't we put that as something for you to find over the
next few weeks until your next session? I was like, yeah, do you know what? Let's do this.
Like maybe it's going to have to be like the local gym or, you know, maybe not the yoga that I
would have usually done. Ben and I were scrolling on TikTok at this.
Christmas tree thing that's in his area right and we said we've never heard of that garden centre
let's look at it on the maps like it's 10 minutes down the road like you could walk to it and as
we looked on the maps it said ash tanga yoga essex and i was like hang on a minute what is that like
next to this garden centre and um so we clicked on it and basically it's in his village it's down
the road it's a field with a lovely little hut where they do yoga classes every day from
seven to 11 right and these people are from what I can tell like very yogi they're not just sort of
a gym instructor doing a yoga class they are very spiritual yeah they're you know it just looks
unbelievable then I followed the yoga teacher she posted date night sauna and ice bath and
It's the village next door and it's again in the field, backs onto the river and they've got
like the outdoor sauna and ice bath.
And I was like, these are all the things I love that I feel like coming back to the UK
I wasn't going to get.
There's this bloody, lovely yoga studio and there's a sauna and ice bath on the river.
I feel like that's not a coincidence.
Yeah, I agree.
100% that's not a coincidence.
So, yeah.
Have they been yet?
No, so I've messaged her and with.
getting it booked in for next week because this yoga Ashtanga is a bit hardcore but I'm
trusting that that's where I'm meant to be and what to do and the way that it also just knocked
to the microphone the way that it works is they have it open from 7 to 11 you come in and you
first will do lessons where you build up your practice and then you come in and then you can
do your own practice in that time and then the teacher comes and helps you or you can do
classes so it feels very like intuitive with the body than being forced into sort of structure
of classes so yeah I'm really excited and I feel like just going to take a moment to thank
the spirit world for all of the messages and all of the intuition that led me to all these
experiences over the last week because I feel incredibly grateful very well looked at
after and it just shows even when you have a little relapse they're always they're always there
and they'll always have you you know no that is so nice so that's my catch-up sam and i hope you all
enjoyed that what's been going on with you babes um god i wish i had something as interesting
to talk about um not a huge amount to be very honest um working
hard. I feel like I spoke
about last week, the Golden Visa.
Not last week, but before. Yes,
you did. Finally come through. So that's
really good. So I've got
that now. And
we've been having our garden done recently. So that's
just finished. And the weather is really
nice now so we can sit out on the evenings.
That is just so nice.
We basically did our garden when we
first moved in. But we actually, so
when we bought this house, when
I actually look back, we bought it. I
a month after having the girls like it was really soon after yeah and we did the work before
we moved in because the house that we got was like a brand new house known had lived in it
before but it was very like basic kind of modifications yeah yeah and we just wanted to obviously
personalise it a bit so we did a bit of work we first moved in and then um it was really funny
the the contractor that I used for my house is the same contractor that I've used for the salon
and we have like a love-hate relationship
I feel like he only has a love relationship for me
but I have a love-hate relationship for him
because I get him loads of business
but I just don't know like the contractors in general
are just hard work anyway aren't they
but I remember when we were telling him
like the work that we wanted to do it
he'd priced it all up and we said look
don't do the garden right now
because we're going into summer anyway
we were moving in in June so we were like there's no point we'll just do it when we've moved in well we came
to see the house when it was like the work was being done and the garden was done before anything else was
done so you can see where this love-hate relationship comes from but he did the garden in how he just
wanted to do the garden it wasn't like a conversation was had so we've always we've not disliked the
garden but it just was never how we would have probably have had it and I think there is a lot to be said
living somewhere for six months or a year
before you actually know what you want to do with it
and so many people have said that to me in the past
but now I feel like I really get it
so anyway so we've changed the garden up a little bit
made it more child friendly which is good
and we've added a little like barbecue station
and bar like area so we get some bar stools on that
which would be really nice and like the garden's not massive
by any means but it's just use the space a lot better
and now the weather's nice it's just lovely
to be out there with the girls so that's good um we were going to do some more work on the house as
well but we couldn't yeah oh my god Dubai is so annoying sometimes you have to get
planning permission to do any work on your house like really did you not know that oh my
internal things like yeah extending we're not even allowed to do anything externally so the
community that I live in the I don't know thousands of houses right in this not my
little community but as in where I live there's about six other communities or more probably more
about 10 more and each community might have like 300 houses in it and they are not we're not allowed
to do anything externally to the house so every house has to look at the same outside so to be fair
in some respects it's good because it means that the value of your house stays like because obviously
if somebody else does an extension for example and theirs it
would change the value of all the houses.
But anyway, so that's that.
But even if you do work inside,
you have to apply for permission.
You have to send drawings of exactly what you're going to do.
And we're talking like blueprints, like the lot.
There's a lot of process even just to apply for it.
You also have to pay for this permit to have work done on your own house.
It's just silly.
This is where I find Dubai.
Like, yeah, I know.
I'm not saying this because I'm now in England paying tax.
But like this is where Dubai is.
Oh, there's hidden taxes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, God, yeah.
When I was there.
Yeah.
There's ways where it takes your money in ways that you would never even think.
Even I got my driving license renewed the other day.
I had to have an eye test to get it renewed.
The I test was just some guy with a drawer full of cash being like, right, read what's on the wall.
Like, and I had to pay 30 quid for the privilege.
Do you know what I mean?
Yeah.
Like, they definitely take money in ways that you would never imagine.
So, yeah, you're not paying tax, but you definitely pay for other things that you wouldn't have to elsewhere.
so yeah anyway so we'd applied for these permits and then permits didn't come back through and
and I've just decided that I just can't be asked doing any work at the moment in the house
because it's coming up to Christmas we've got visitors come in like I don't want that stress at the same
time um kind of lost my trail of thought with that but basically what else have I been up to
I suppose other than that I don't really know I had my salon staff do at the weekend just gone
and that was so much fun it was by far the best one that we've had yet um it was just fun like
the vibe was just electric like you know and like everyone is just having such a good time and like
it was just really really good um a lot of my assistants that work for me in the salon
had never been on a boat before but also like they don't really go out and
experience much like they like to send all their money home and they're quite like home birds and
they don't really do much so I booked um like a yacht for us all and we did a boat party for like
four hours I think it was and supplied like all the alcohol and food and we just had so much fun it
was brilliant and it was just great to see them all be so happy and so appreciative and yeah it's
really nice like I do that way more often if I could because
it was yeah it was just brilliant it was really really nice um that was really good and then the day
before that though oh my god andy just fucking started vomiting all day like just randomly and like
i mean obviously i did feel sorry for him but i'm also not the most sympathetic person so i try
as much as i can but i then obviously meant that i was left with the girls on my own for the
day unprepared i don't mind doing it like i've got them this weekend on my own in the afternoon
but I'll prepare for that.
When it's unprepared, it's like just carnage.
So I invited my friends around, which were coming around anyway,
they were coming around for a barbecue,
like another couple with their baby,
and they still came round.
But without sounding awful, they were no help.
And if anything, it probably made it harder.
And she said that herself, and she doesn't listen anyway, I don't think so.
So if you are listening, then I apologise.
But she said it herself, like they're not much help.
but I think it's just because they have one kid
and they used to having one kid
so then when there's three
it's like what do we do
I don't know like it was just a bit carnage
to be honest
so that was very stressful on Saturday
yeah that was very intense
and yeah I suppose
just been trying to plan for Christmas
a little bit trying to get things organised
I've been in the salon quite a lot
we've been doing trainings with the staff
and I've been wanting to be at the trainings
yesterday I had a meeting with L'Oreal
and I had like eight executives
from L'Oreal come to the salon
one flew in from Singapore for this meeting
and I was just a bit like
I just didn't really expect it
I knew I had a meeting with them
but I didn't really realise
who I was meeting and what was actually happening
it was very nice
it was very complimentary
but that was yeah quite intense
and I have been offered a trip
to go to Turkey
did I tell you this?
yeah what are you going to do what have you decided so so they've so i've been offered a trip i don't
know if people listening will remember but last year this time last year i went to bali with loreal
um which was obviously incredible to get to go and do that and they literally pay for everything
like your flights accommodation everything when you're there like it is pretty mega um so they
have invited me to go to turkey in january for three nights um and i have turned it down wow
I know.
Tell me why.
I'm going to send Joe instead,
which is one of my longest reigning staff members.
She's one of my assistants,
who's now a junior stylist,
and she's amazing,
and she really deserves to go.
Like, she really, really deserves it.
She works so hard.
She loves L'Oreal.
She loves going on courses
and, like, extending her education,
and she'll just thrive,
and I think it'll be such an amazing,
experience for her and I think it will mean
a lot more to her as well
and I think that that's important to do
for me the timing just didn't really work
I literally would have Andy's mum and dad
leave I'd then go to Turkey for three days
then my mum and dad would be there
it would be a bit chaotic
do I really want to go to Turkey in January
no
yeah it's a bit different isn't it
yeah it was and I just think that
it's an incredible opportunity but it's
fell on the exact same three days that Andy needed to be away for his work and I was just like
I'm okay with that I'm okay given the opportunity to somebody else and I think it will be more
beneficial for her so yeah that's so nice a bit Joe's buzzing with that oh my god she was like
almost in tears I bet yeah she was so happy um so it's nice to be able to give that opportunity
to her as well and like I say she definitely deserves it so yeah um but yeah
just I suppose working hard ish I don't even feel like I'm actually working that hard at the
moment I'll be honest not bad to think beds yeah um we're recording this podcast I'm sat in bed
and it's a Thursday afternoon at half warm that's the dream that's what it's about I actually
nearly was going to record from the bed today because it was a bit cold as that all need need a bit
of dovet yeah well I'm trying to basically start making a bit of a routine in my life because
I'm very fortunate now that I've created
a work-life balance where I don't have much for a routine and if one thing happens one day
then I don't have to go in the salon or I don't have to very rarely do I have to be in one place
at one time specifically unless obviously I have meetings and things but I am trying to create a
bit more structure in my life now because I thrive when I have structure and however having
said that it's very nice to be able to do this as well and yeah I suppose sorry to me
up to you're going to say you can bring in flexibility into your structure though like so what i do
is like so for example a thursday is like uh no i work on a Thursday but it's no meetings other than
the podcast and so then it gives me flexibility to be like am i going to go out for lunch today you know
am i going to work you know for how long like i might not work the whole day you know and i think
you can sort of do that i would say the last couple of months that's gone out the window
but he's coming back in now
and I'm like just like structure free time
that's all like flexible time.
Yeah, yeah, definitely.
No, I am trying to do that.
So yeah, no, I'm very happy with that.
I'm also trying to make moves, I suppose, behind the scenes.
Obviously, if a lot of you listen to the year
I had reading with like an online stuff and business,
but I'll be honest, I've hit a bit of a roadblock with that at the moment.
and just kind of need to get my feet off the ground.
You know, and like, you need to make a first step,
but you're just like, you know, the water's cold,
but you'd be fine when you get in,
but you're just like, dip the dough.
I feel the same, no.
Like, I feel, it is, there's, every planet
is pretty much in retrograde at the moment,
so I've just surrendered to the energy.
It is.
It's, it's, it's, I was like, go, go, go with the app.
Launch, launch.
And then all of a sudden I was like,
no, I'm not going to launch it yet.
Like, I'm just going to hold off.
Like, obviously I've done it for members inside the Academy.
mean circle but I'm not launching it to anyone else and that was like a last minute decision
so I do think there's something in the energy right now I have actually I've got to tell you
this I've been loving listening to your meditations on the app oh good I'm pleased that's
good I'm pleased yeah I'm not a very good meditation person but I'm giving it a go
yes I I am really enjoying it though I like in the morning I'll get up at five go for my walk
and then I'll come back and listen to one.
Nice.
So that's nice.
Oh, I'm pleased to hear that.
Yeah.
It's nice because basically the way it's worked is we're basically with the circle
and academy members like finding little, like not, we haven't really had many problems.
It's more making things easier or like with the sign up.
We've changed the sign up.
And then some, you know, like it's good to know you're listening to the meditations.
And so like what I've basically said to myself over the next sort of.
till the end of the year is like just sort of using my community to be in the app
and just like gently work out what works, what doesn't work,
what people are enjoying and things like that.
So, yeah, so like how you're feeling with the business,
what I would say to you.
And this is also to anyone who's feeling a bit like this at the moment with,
you know,
maybe a lack of momentum or like clarity.
Like, you know the long term goal.
Like you can see it.
Like this is how I would describe.
I know this will work and I know it will be successful but right now there's a few
there's energies that are kind of saying just slow down just pull back just reset get it
right don't rush like there's this feeling whether it's if you're building an app or you're
moving house or whatever you're doing there is that energy right now so just be mindful of that
So I think what you're feeling is attuned.
I do think my sort of advice to anyone is plant seeds of baby steps.
That's the one thing I'd say, don't like just do nothing.
I'm not doing nothing, but I'm just doing everything a lot slower and removing the pressure.
So like with what you're doing, Sam, like my advice would be just take one thing and let that.
that be the priority and let that lend lead to the next thing because that's what's coming up.
I actually was, I watched a TikTok clip of that emigreed.
You've got me on to her, the one that interviewed Megan Markle.
And then she sort of got like, she's British and she's in America.
Like she's sort of got this community of like female leaders in, you know.
Go getters.
Yeah.
And I like what she says because she sort of, she said something, you know, it doesn't need to be perfect.
The reason businesses don't happen is because they wait for it to be perfect
and it will never be perfect.
And I think I really resonated with that, especially with the app,
because the app's not perfect.
And it never will be because what is perfect?
It's an illusion perfection.
Yeah, exactly.
That is a made-up thing in your mind.
And I think that all the time.
I had a CEO that would always say,
just get the task done and out and then make the changes after because he was like
there are too many projects not getting over the line because you're waiting for it to be
perfect and I don't know it just really resonates with me and I feel like that with with the
app and you know I've not done this amazing launch and made it this big thing I've sort of
spoken about it people are on the journey some bits I'm a bit fatigued with some bits I'm loving
You know, it's just this whole journey.
And I think that that's what it's about, isn't it?
So I think for you, with how you're feeling, you know, just don't make it perfect.
Don't try and make it perfect.
Just do it.
Yeah.
And see what happens.
Yeah, I completely agree with you.
Definitely.
I'll just start making some steps.
Yeah, just a little step.
Doesn't have to be a big one.
No, exactly.
You know.
so that's what I would say this meant for well we also want to talk about we've been having a bit
of a creative block haven't we as well in we have yes where I suppose obviously the two of us
have always had our own businesses and our own like you know careers jobs etc and then obviously
we do this together but where I suppose now the two of us are a lot more or definitely about
to become a lot more vocal with our jobs yeah when we then now do this together we're in a bit more
of a block because we're now thinking about what we're doing and then we're struggling to come together
as to right well i've already spoken about x y and z on that so how am i then gonna what do i have
to deliver here exactly that's what we're trying to work out and i think so like we've obviously for me you all know
spiritual and that you know if you go over to the circle it goes deeper it's you know and it's it's
a lot of spiritual teachings there where here you get an insight into like my life i feel like you get
yeah yeah yes like you know and the reality of me which is all these different emotions and
things and the same with you it's like i guess everyone gets access to our the reality
of our lives so we were like why don't we just brainstorm while on while on the podcast
Yeah.
And also ask you guys to sort of let us know what you like.
And yeah, we're just sort of, it is definitely a creator's block.
I think we've both been feeling it for us.
Definitely.
Yeah, I think, yeah, we've definitely both been feeling it.
We're unsure as to like what topics to really be chatting about
or what people really like the most of.
We love doing the Agony Ant section where like, you know,
you obviously send in your anonymous questions.
I love that part so you know please feel free to do that as well
the link for that is on our Instagram and yeah I suppose we're just trying to
figure out exactly the direction of this podcast because while we're both kind of
evolving separately we still love doing the podcast but we're like right well what
shall we talk about here because you know like I said before we're both doing so much now
or we'll be doing even more so soon separately
that we want to make sure that we still deliver here
and that I think like exactly what you just said
like we are a lot more personal on here
like the way I spoke about yeah it really is
and I definitely do forget that people listen
sometimes when people say it's me like
oh my god I listen to podcasts I'm like oh fuck I feel like
you know so much while my life
but I also don't really care too much
but you know like when I think
think back in what we've spoken about in the time that we've had this podcast like about for me
pregnancy having the girls feeling low after I'd had the girls like managing that whole thing losing
my grandma like there's so much personally that I've shared that I do think that this podcast for
us is a very like safe place for us to share the personal stuff as well but that wasn't necessarily
how it intended on being when we started it yeah that's the thing isn't it because I find it like
really good exposure therapy of being seen, which is something I struggle with.
I know, like, you know, we may come across as confident.
I know you're more comfortable with sort of being seen.
I feel like I do a podcast episode.
I'm like, oh, God, did I say too much?
Or did I, I really questioned myself quite a lot when I do recording.
So I feel like from a self-development perspective, it's really forced me to just be like,
this is me and this if people want to see it they'll see it and if they don't like it it
it's okay doesn't like so I do feel like it's been really good in that sense for me to just
be a bit more comfortable with being exposed which I think is that witch wound as well and so I
think like I like the fact that we talk and share things I also think you know when I listen to
podcast or when I listen to people, I like to know what's going on in their life.
I'm a bit nosy.
Yeah, and I am as well, to be honest.
And I think a lot of, I think most people are because one thing that I've always said
to like my hairdress is when I train them with like their social media, for example,
and like you can be private still, but you should really share some bits that are about
you so that then people can get to know you and then decide if they want to come to you.
because that is ultimately what people want.
They do want to get to know you.
Yeah, no, definitely.
So I think like that,
I think it's helped me in that way.
And I like sharing how I'm feeling
and what's going on and like the realities of that.
So I think, you know, if you guys still like that,
then, you know, we'll definitely continue with that.
Yeah, exactly.
So yeah, give us some feedback, please.
What kind of things do you like the most of?
and what do you want to hear more of I suppose
I think naturally this probably will evolve
like we just said into more
maybe like we are doing
it's about ourselves but then about our journeys together
and you know I have more of the
anonymous questions as well
and how we can help people
it's also obviously I know a lot of you probably feel like
if you know us personally and you listen
you might not feel like you want to write in
in the anonymous, kind of that word out, section as much.
But I promise you it is 100% anonymous.
And also, like, for me, I personally would,
if I wasn't a host and I was listening,
I'd be submitting questions every week.
Mate, same.
I'd be like different things are going on.
So don't be frightened if you've sent something once.
Like, we don't know.
Just send as much as you want in because there's always things there.
And I think, you know, we both like that feature.
and we know we can push it more on socials as well
to remind you guys
because I get that like if you don't see it
you're not going to think about it
so I think that's a really nice thing
and the thing is for me with the psychic collection
there will be a podcast coming out with the psychic collection
that's going to be like more educational
less conversational it will just be me
talking about an energy
maybe it's the full moon or the astrology
you know it's going to be lovely
but educational
and not personal.
Yeah.
It's not going to be like,
all right, guys,
I'd have been meltdown the other day.
It's because of the full moon.
I'm going to be more,
it's the full moon,
fill into your energy.
It's a different,
it's a different jest that shows up for that one,
where this one I think,
yeah,
is more the reality.
And I think it'll be the same for you, Sam,
because I think Sam should start a podcast
on all of her manifesting
and sort of powers that she has there.
And I think, you know,
you've got lots to share there and I think with Sam you could do really quick snippets of like
boom boom boom this has had to be your best self or whatever you know yeah exactly and like
I do think you've said that to me for a very long time and I've always been a bit like
but then I actually do feel a bit more well I do feel very like ready to do that now
but that is what I'm talking about when I'm saying like I need to take those next steps so
yeah watch this space
And I think, like, as I look at it intuitively, like, it is kind of like we have the pillars of our two specialties at the side.
So when people come and listen, whether they're drawn to Sam or me, because we're so different in the way we approach things, you kind of get the podcast that we're going to build out ourselves where you can be like, I'm in manifesting mode or I'm in spiritual mode, whatever.
And then this is the little bridge in between.
So I do think, you know, maybe that's our answer that.
you know, our topics are more in our own podcasts and this is just where we have a nice time
without much structure and pressure.
And maybe that will actually make us feel a bit happier and it'll flow a bit easier for us.
Yeah, I think so.
Yeah, to produce topics and content, maybe it's just, let's just catch up and talk about
what's going on and if there's something we want to talk about, then we can solve it, you know?
Yeah, absolutely.
even like things as well like that you're reading or you're watching or whatever yeah i'm actually
well i've started well now i've just okay i read books and i listen to books so i do both at the same time
i tend to um listen to more self-help books yeah the only books i listen to a self-help books
but anyway i'm listening to one called uh it's called signs by dr tarra sports do it
Do it?
Yeah, I think Stuart.
Oh, it might be Swords.
But I know who you mean.
The neuroscient.
Yes.
The brain doctor.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's really interesting.
And she actually says on Swart, Dr. Tara Swart.
Yeah, says.
But it's a really good book.
But what you were saying about that whole weekend is literally what she speaks about in that book.
I really.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, about like the signs and things like that.
It's so interesting.
But that you can only access them from, like, being in that place.
Yeah.
I saw a shooting star.
Oh, no way.
Like the other night and we're walking down the street and literally down the high street
and it was at 4 o'clock, you know, it gets dark, maybe 5 actually.
Shooting star came across.
I saw one in Lanzarotti, two nights in a row as well.
I feel like in my whole life I've never really.
really seen shooting stars and all of a sudden in the last six months I've seen three. Isn't that
lovely? No way. Yeah, that is lovely. When I was in Abitha, the summer when I was pregnant,
so what was that, about two years ago, we saw loads of shooting stars like all at once. It was
like, phew, phew, phew. Oh my gosh. Yeah, there was like a thing going on that day. Yeah,
like a meteor shower or something. Yeah. But we were like, whoa, what is going on here? Like I saw one
And then for ages, we all just lay outside, like, waiting for the next one.
Yeah, that's it.
So I was like, it just felt so lovely after everything that happened on the weekend
to then see that shooting star.
And I was like, oh, just, I love the spirit world so much.
Honest to God, like, isn't, to me.
It never fails you.
It really doesn't.
And I just feel like, I don't know, I just feel just, I love it.
And it's the best thing ever.
I love asking for a sign.
And they talk about this, actually.
seen this book and then when you get it you're like oh shit oh my god yeah yeah i keep getting robins
as well when i was talking to you before there was just this robin right next to me and i was like hello
mate i love seeing robins it's lovely so yeah well i have loved catching up with you and um i hope
everybody has enjoyed this episode like we said please please please do give us some feedback because
we do really want to know kind of what you're enjoying and yeah how we can I suppose keep
delivering some good episodes for you do you know what we could do Sam with the anonymous link
we could post that and then people can put in that link ideas and feedback to us as well so
then it's also yeah good idea don't tell us for shit like we don't need to hear that like just
stop listening if you feel like that yeah absolutely but let us know if there's things and if you
want it to be anonymous then that you know that would be really good because you can speak your
truth yes absolutely all right babes well you want to do the usual thank yeah thank you so much for
listening and um if you want to be the best person ever please like rates and subscribe
