Hey, Spit and Chicklets listeners, you could find every episode on Apple Podcast and Spotify.

Me and Ryan have been officially welcomed to the jungle that is basketball sports.
I brought it toward the coyotes and I asked him if it was okay if I joined the Spit Chickles podcast full-time.
Ryan Whitney's got a pink Whitney out there now.
I get this a fanbagger, get that on camera.
Deep Yandah, the song man.
It's a full-time member
Marley just got an assist from Chris Bates
Whoa, we're buzzing right now
Sank
What is up, folks?
Welcome to episode 674
The Spit Chikos Pogas
We are in person, pinkies up
But actually, hold on a minute
Because let's talk Reese's
Rises, if you see all the peanut butter cups I have here
If I eat all these, I'm going to get even fatter.
We got the jersey right here
This jersey.
I'm not first overall.
Put that thing.
Put that thing on.
So we were actually just talking Reese's.
And with the first overall pick from Wellen, Ontario,
with some of the worst tattoos you will ever see.
Who doesn't eat enough Reese's peanut butter cups?
Because he still shows muscle in his stomach.
Reese's selects.
Reese's selects.
A plug.
Paul Biznasty.
He's got the jersey on now.
So show them.
These are unreal jersey.
Guys, we're here for Chicklet's Cup.
Chicklet's cup.
All side.
Should. Yeah, I'll sign it and give it to you.
Yeah, yeah. You won't give that to anyone. You'll sign it and then hang it up in your office because that's how good Reese is. And they're here all weekend at Chicklet's Cup Harpoon Brewery. Can't wait. We'll talk about that. What? What do you have?
So they're a presenting sponsor now. Yeah. That's fucking big time. I actually said that to my wife. I'm like, we have a legit presenting. Not that Pink Whitney's not. Pinky's up.
No, but like that has my name on it. So it makes little sense. This is a monster brand.
You kind of backed them into a corner to do it. I'm hoping I can get like a key.
cup. Yeah, no chance.
No chance. Actually, you keep gaining
weight and you might be lucky enough to.
Biz shouldn't have that jersey on.
You're in too good a shape. I could rock it.
What an exciting
time. The weather, I mean, we're looking
at like 67 degrees and sunny the next
three days. Six, seven.
So I'm so excited for that.
We'll get into the tournament and
how you're feeling both you guys
before you tilt, I think,
1.30 Fridays when you guys go head-to-head.
My whole family's coming. So I'm
excited to see what's going on there. But first off,
biz, I just saw a tweet. The men
that beat you up, they
were sentenced. Four men. Not one
day of jail time, all four.
When did you see that? Like five minutes ago.
Oh, shit. I bailed them out. Oh, my team.
Not one day of jail time.
They're going to come out of the patty wagon with the
Boston Stranglers.
That would be a Yan's move, dude.
They have hurling sticks instead of
street hockey sticks. But I'll
tell you, like, they all got two years probation, and then it said they had to pay $8,000
restitution to you. So I was like, oh, 32-gritty. Well, they paid for like my, like, neck
massages and, like, my therapy. Well, no, I was like, oh, he could fill up his truck finally
with what they're going to pay him. That's awesome. But it's actually $8,000 combined. So $2,000 a guy.
So kind of bullshit that, you know, that was a long time ago. I thought they might get a little jail time.
So that was like my, my, like, quarterly tab at Houston's.
still can't get a meal named after you save the pork manager's life
who do I got to fucking to get a salad around here
who do I have to defend and protect
I'm going to Reese's for every meal moving forward
but guys how do you feel coming in we have Terry Ryan coming in a little bit
we have Swaggy P's have we ever had him on
No
okay so Swaggy P for people who don't know just a wizard
with the puck with the street doggy ball with the street doggy puck
He's going to come on he's on the stranglers
again. He's like a Costco
brand Scotty Gomez, is what I
call it. I like that, but he
at, I came off practice
earlier this year, one of the first
practice of the year for riders team,
and there was 50 kids, like,
and I was like, what is going on here? And Swaggy
P was at the rink. So he's a monster
with the young hockey guys with the
skill. He's like all those guys, like
coach, chippy. Like anytime
those guys walk in anywhere, the
fucking people, like Jack Bell, any of these
YouTuber guys or guys who are, or guys
who are on Instagram.
Swaggy P,
he posts some videos
where he'll go on vacation
and he'll be in,
like, Mexico City
and he's got the blades on
and he's fucking doing
crossover through the streets.
Like, there's like
dang holes everywhere.
Yeah.
That was the wrong guy to dangle there.
He's in the back of a van.
Oh, shit.
Shouldn't have done that in Mexico City.
Let's stay in Canada.
But shout out Swaggy P.
Shut up.
How do we transition out of that?
R.A's coming in in a couple minutes.
So we can see R.A.
I have a gift for R.
I cannot.
not wait to give it.
Well, yeah, but something else.
Oh, cool. Nice here. Nice yeah. Nice yeah. Nice yeah.
So this is it, basically. I texted the group this morning. It's last dance because I believe
this is going to be it for you guys. If you lose, there's no more big deal selects,
which is thank God. I'm not rooting against you. I'm not rooting against you. And I'll tell
this to every guy on the team. Like, I like them and I think we all get along.
But you use scrubs. If you can't get it done, it's time for you to be done. So
Yans hated the big deal selects and was like talking shit before last year.
And he lost to him.
And no.
And then he met con man.
He's like,
I want him on my team.
Like he fell in love with all the new fees.
So we're excited to have them.
We have a loaded squad.
So funny enough,
I get a,
Terry Ryan,
he doesn't do the text message.
He sends you the voice notes.
They're long.
He doesn't even talk into the phone for the text.
He actually does the message.
Oh, yeah.
The voice.
That's the Bob Burger.
But we're not...
That's what Robbie Burger does?
Okay, but we're not talking like 20 seconds.
No.
We're talking like four or five minutes.
I'm basically listening to the Terry Ryan audio book.
You got to get a new phone to download his audio message.
I got to update my eye cloud.
I had to add more storage.
Head talk.
Yeah, fucking more drop box here.
But he's got a torn labrum.
And which means like torn fucking liver because he's been on the fucking sauce because he's
famous now because of Shorzie. What side has left or right? I don't know, but funny enough,
when I went on that hiking trip, I don't know if it was because of those fucking cots we were
sleeping on that were like a half inch thick where my shoulder's been bugging me.
Excuses are already flowing in for the big deal, Celeste. Hey, listen, say whatever they want, dude,
at this point, who cares? They've gone insane, they're going to crush everyone lost. At least now,
look, the excuse will make sense. I'll probably play the exact same amount that I played in the
NHL. I'm going to get my three, four shifts
a game. I'm going to contribute. I'm going to be
there for my teammates. And I'm confident
that we can win our, oh, there he is.
He just poked his head in. We're going to be talking
to you in about 30 minutes, TR.
How's the labor? A long way from the hurt,
exactly. Exactly. Bring in the
what do you call it? What do you? No,
it's word it close. What's that drug we use?
Torto? You just need to just hand them
Reese. They get off, they get off the sheet,
the board. Just give them a peanut
butter cup. That's the, that's like the
the, like the pre-tournament
going in how the team's feeling morale is maybe a little bit low because of that but when we all
get together we're going to put together a good squad what have you changed about your team the boston's
track nothing so i've handed the keys over to brendon callier let him handle everything we've added
three guys from the u.s a Olympic gold team that nose face is on that they want it so we added
three guys from that team uh i think we dropped a few guys from the stranglers of last year so
There have been some changes.
I'm not sure, exact.
I don't know.
So you had to get a little bit ugly with it and like say, hey, man, we appreciate your time and effort last year.
But you're not going to know.
You're talking about nose face.
No, I'm talking about the fact that Yan's had basically all of his buddies on his team.
So you had to say no to like two, three guys to where they got cut and then you brought in ringers.
Yes.
Okay.
That's, all.
We've gotten ruthless for our team before too.
So, hey, desperate time.
Call for desperate measures.
So let's roll, baby.
Are the on the bench guys on your team?
On the bench guys are going to be on the bench.
They're like biz.
They kind of spot in and out.
They're on the bench.
They block shots.
They're not,
they're not like going to be like 20, 25 minutes.
Yeah, they are.
Jacob and Ollie can play.
Because their whole schick is like they're on the bench.
Yeah.
They are way better.
Yeah, true.
Last thing before we dive into NHL,
it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I'm going to hand it over to G.
We're selling merchandise and we're raising money for a very
very good cause. Obviously, this is something that's near and dear, very close to his heart.
Gee, take it away.
Yeah.
Once again, spit and shicklet, Sharta Cure, this time we're donating 100% net proceeds to move over breast cancer,
which is a really cool foundation.
Alana was kind of in a dark place last year.
They brought her out to Utah.
They went hiking.
They went on these glam trips.
And it wasn't just her.
It was about 20 other women.
And that's what they do.
They bring these girls on retreats.
They have like a glam bust that comes by their house or make.
makes them feel pretty again.
And yeah, it's a really amazing cause that really means a lot to Alana and my family.
So my wife now I can say.
Yeah.
I'm not cool.
I saw G with a wedding ring on today.
I'm like, God, it's so weird.
He's not even wear it.
But yeah, wait.
Okay, sure, buddy.
So I said too.
But it's pretty cool.
The 100% of net pro season, that's something I'm really proud of because there's a lot
of brands out there that they slap a breast cancer logo on something.
And then they're only donating 2%, 3%, which is,
fucking insane. We don't make a dime off this shit.
No, no should we because it's going to
a bunch of the women out there who need it. So please check out
our merch. Came out awesome too. You sent it over. It's all over
our social. So check that out. Good job, G. And I know Biz, you're a big part of
helping get that going too. So great job.
This is helping me with something, and Alano was something a lot
bigger that we'll announce in a couple weeks. Well, it's also
it's, yeah, but it's also on behalf of our team and the guys.
We've talked about it behind the scenes. Like what more can we do to help
certain things like obviously the
NHL alumni and then this is something that just
became you know and
obviously an issue with you but also
like our Chickles family so
we're going to keep moving the needle and
helping out in the ways we can and
it's awesome man let's go baby
speaking of that too though we have the blind hockey at Chicklet's
Cup this weekend I didn't mention that that's going to be really
they're going to have their own tent set up
and you can put on like goggles and use
their equipment to kind of see what it's like to simulate
what it's like to be a blind hockey player
they have a couple teams come in there's and kids
come in. Yeah, that was a great interview.
What was his? Craig Fitzpatrick.
That was great. That was last season, right?
Yeah, so he'll be here. Okay, awesome.
Looking forward to seeing him. What a story
that was. Kind of like how I played in the NHL.
With the blinders on. By the way,
quickly, Keith was just on the Chuck Brothers pod.
I don't know if I've ever heard that story of you leaving your skates
in the oven. Okay, yeah.
Buddy, you couldn't get new skates in the NHL?
No, no. I would normally get one new pair a year.
Like you hear these stories now.
I think like Kail McCar is rocking a new pair every five games they were saying.
Maybe who Duncan Keith would get a new pair every five games.
So I'll hand it over to Jans to talk about how this all went down in Arizona when I was with the coyotes.
Yeah.
So Biz was just like if he saw a guy heating up skates to get new skates, he'd always go up to the trainers.
Hey, Stan, hey, Jason, Tony, can I get new skates too?
And they'd be like, no.
They look at his.
There's a mark on them.
They're like, uh, but he'd be like, my skates are worse than theirs.
I'm bag skating every day.
I'm putting all my weight on the start, which is 100% true.
King or bag skates will wear down some wheels of that.
I used to break in other guys skates.
Yeah.
But, uh, so then finally one day the trainer's cracked and they're like,
all busy, you can get some new skates.
Biz is all fired up, puts them in the oven.
They're supposed to be in there for like six, seven minutes or something.
Not even.
I think like three.
Three minutes.
He put them in there for two hours.
Um, they were,
they were,
They were ug boots by the time they came out and that was the last pair of skates and you might actually got sent to the miners.
No, so normally when I would throw them in, I would literally just sit in the chair.
Like every person.
Like every single person ever.
You would start the timer and you would just be there staring at the oven until they were done.
Because you want them out immediately to get him tied crap noise.
I could have sworn Yans came in and was a hey, we're all going for a steamer.
Let's go.
And obviously I just hopped out of the chair and went to.
grab a steamer with the boys.
And then, and then like, I think, I think it was like maybe Tony who knocked on the steamer
door and he's like, you left your fucking skates in there for like 25 minutes.
It broke the machine.
It melted the skates.
They were done.
They were done.
I had fucking waited months for these new wheels.
I finally got them and they were fucking ugged boots.
And I had to keep rocking the same wheel.
So heard that.
That's such a, you were probably fired up to get some new wheels.
The other thing that probably drove them.
not says you know how when you would, let's say Warrior would come by or like I was typically a
CCM guy. You could have them make you like a pattern. Oh yeah, every company that comes.
They'll make you because they want to get you in their in their stuff. Well, they didn't really
want me in them but I would be like, oh yeah, like and I would ask. You know, like beats by Dre would
come for him. But I would always request like a new curve and like, oh, let's try this flex.
and they're just standing fucking Tony
or like, get this guy out of this league.
You use some crazy stick.
Oh, combat.
Yeah, me and Yager.
They gave them, what did?
Oh, they gave me no, like all like a Best Buy or something.
Yeah, like Lulu Lemon gift cards or something.
I'm playing with these combat.
You kept saying, oh, Yager's using it.
It's got to be pretty good.
Yeah, but he actually was using them.
All guys on the other teams are just being cards.
They're like, get this guy with the Rodok.
stick out of his league.
Oh, God. I don't think like, oh,
other guys on other teams who just carve me nonstop.
I had nothing to say.
I had no chirps either.
But moving on, more important news in today's NHL.
In current NHL.
Current NHL.
Wednesday night, biz on the broadcast, TNT,
the hundred and first time Crosby has played Ovechkin.
Ovi announces that this is going to be his last season.
You do that?
What do you do that on Tuesday?
you do that?
When do you do that?
The video came out too,
that I think he told the team
told the team.
Told the team.
So a couple things.
Do you think that maybe they purposely did it
knowing that they had the first matchup
between Sid and OV coming?
And or do you think he went to the quick training camp
and played a few games and was like,
holy fuck.
I don't know if I could do this another year after this.
And you have his lowest ice time ever the game before?
Yeah.
Yeah, I think he did.
I think he did.
But that team's a wagging.
They're loaded.
And, I mean, I was kind of blown away at, like, seeing 101 times they played against each other.
So we looked up, is that the most anyone in the NHLs ever played against somebody?
But it's number two, right?
No, it's not even in the top 30.
What?
Oh, yeah.
I said current, because back in the day.
Hey, even current, I was wrong when we were texting last night.
There's so many.
When I start reading some of these names, you're going to be like, oh, that makes sense.
You probably have to have to have Copatar.
We have, I mean, number one, Ray Bork, Guy Carbino.
Can you tell me how many games they played against?
They played 135 against each other.
And that includes playoffs as well?
84 regular season, 51 playoff.
Ray Bork and Guy Carbano, how many teams were in the league for most of their?
So that makes sense.
In terms of, can we get a few more on the list?
Give us the top 10.
So it's Ray Bork, Guy Carbino, Ron Francis, Dale Hunter.
Ray Borg.
Give us the numbers, though.
Ron Francis Dale Hunter, 122 games.
Ray Bork and Ron Francis,
121 games.
Wayne Gretzky
and Jamie McCown
115 games.
Gordy Roberts.
Gordy Roberts,
Dennis Savard,
113 games.
The most recent
would be Patrick Marl
and Dustin Brown
with 111 games.
Yeah.
Wow.
And then Shane Dohn,
Patrick Marlowe,
107 games.
Wow,
Don are in there.
Joe Thornton,
Dustin Brown,
105 games.
Wow.
And obviously there's some mixed in...
Anse Coul-Batar and Mark Edward Vlasik,
102 games.
Yeah.
Brent Burner.
and Kopitar 100-1 games.
Think about two guys who are these phenoms
coming into the league at the same time
and they're so highly titled
like they're the next coming of Gretzky
and the next great one,
both coming at the same time to both organizations
who are struggling.
One of which is probably going to move.
And then these guys go on to have these careers.
So we're going to go Crosby first.
Three-time Cup champ,
two-time heart trophy for MVP,
two-time cons-smite.
playoff MVP, two Art Ross leading score, two-time Olympic gold,
most consecutive points per game seasons of all-time,
seventh all-time and career points.
He's going to keep moving up that list.
Tide for seventh all-time and career assist,
he's going to get higher there.
20 seasons as a captain most all-time.
And that includes two rockets,
which they didn't include on that list,
because he's won two scoring titles, Sid.
That's Art Ross.
No, goals.
SIDS led the team,
Sid's leading goals twice.
I think he has two rocket Richard Trophies.
What?
Sidney Crosby has won the Rocket Richard
Troufie twice in his career, 2009, 2010, 2016.
I believe one of which was after you said that
you bet Max Talbot that he would never get 50.
That's very true.
I should probably know that.
I don't even know if I ever paid Talbot.
Then we got Ovi.
One cup, three-time MVP Hart Trophy.
Kind of crazy more MVP than Sid.
That surprised me a little bit.
Yeah.
One-time Kahn Smyth playoff MVP,
nine-time Rocket Richard.
Most goals all time.
Most power play goals all time.
most game-winning goals of all time, most 30-goal seasons of all-time,
and 18 seasons as a captain, third, most all-time.
The announcement by Ovi to say, like, this is it, and he tells the team, and then Carberry
talks, I was like, in before last night's game with his two sons, I think Elia,
Sergei, announcing him as the last player.
I was, like, sad, and I can't even imagine how I'll feel when Sid someday retires,
because I got the chance to play with them.
And I was with my two kids, and we were watching the intro.
and I was like, this has been so long, I played against these guys.
They were like, what?
Like, they couldn't even fathom it.
Neither can I really, looking back, that they're still doing it.
But knowing it's Ovi's last year, I kind of like it.
Because all year, every away team fan is going to get to kind of show him, like, their praise and their respect.
And then, you know, ideally that that team goes on a run.
I don't know how big of a part OV's going to play on that team this year.
You know, I think he's going to get 20 goals, right?
But what I've seen so far, and it's early, it's like, they have so many elite players,
he's just not as big of a player on that team anymore.
It's like you see his ice time.
It's kind of, it's kind of, Carberry's in a tough spot too.
I think he's in a way better spot this year because I feel over the last couple years,
and he's obviously proven that he could still score that maybe like his mind still thought
he could do it, but his body couldn't, where now his realization is,
that, like, Anson Carter called him
the DH of hockey. He's going to be basically
a DH this year, which is kind of cool. Like, you could
play power play, probably play
fourth line. Wouldn't
imagine that they would healthy scratch
him at all when he weren't healthy?
I bet him back to backs and stuff.
I bet he'll get some nights off. I just feel
like it's going to be easier on a guy
like Carberry to like, and I'm
sure they've already had that conversation
on how they're going to handle it. And also
for what he's done for that team
organization, the league,
He should get carried by the rest of the squad into a playoff position and get out, get to go out.
Like to see them, like, and it's very possible to see them in a Stanley Cup final would be so sick to see in his last year.
Like that would be, that would be, like, that would be all time.
Yeah.
And I think he mentioned, I think he mentioned it on your broadcast or another interview that I saw that he saw the group that they put together this year.
He saw them as a cup contender.
and I think in his mind he's like I could maybe help this team out a little bit and help them win a Stanley Cup
So I think for him is seeing how good the team is like maybe if they didn't make any moves
Maybe he wouldn't have came back. You never know
But I'm glad he came back and I'm glad that it's the you know he told everybody like you guys said that
Everyone's going to be able to give him his flowers because man this guy like
What a competitor like not only was he scoring goals at will like he was running guys through the boards
Oh my algorithm had a five minute video of his biggest hits ever
You kind of wrote, I forgot about some of these.
I mean, he's completely putting guys to sleep.
Yeah.
And he was skating around as fast as anyone at two, I'd say 35, most of his career, maybe
250 now.
And, and like, the respect they have for each other now, but the hatred, dude, they fucking hated
each other.
Well, I think it was also media driven.
And then, like, like, for the first, or whatever it was, 12, 13 years, the narrative was
probably weighing on OVy that like, like, it's not true because you go inside that
locker room, you see how much of an impact and how much those guys love him and like the,
the vibes that he brings to the locker room, but he couldn't win that he was selfish.
He would cheat to the offensive side of the puck.
And like, that was the narrative for 12 seasons until finally in year 13 where they got over
the hump and he won, like, which I couldn't imagine like carrying that burden.
And then you've, at that point, I wanted sin one.
Cid had won three at that point?
Yes.
He runs three.
Yes.
And I believe three times had beaten them in the second round to go on to then win the Stanley Cup.
And then they beat Pittsburgh the year they got it in the second round.
Yeah.
So I think it was three years in a row that the winner of that series won the Cup.
Yeah, 2016 to 2018.
Yeah.
And going back to like, like, Jans, you said, like how physical he was early on,
never in a million years after watching his first 10 years,
what I thought that he would have lasted this long based on how he was going.
out there. No, no chance. You're like, this guy's going to break down. You can't keep playing
like that. And I mean, up until a few years ago, he was still doing it. So just the fucking absolute
biggest machine that the game's ever seen. And just, it's hard because we always talk about
this Mount Rushmore, Mount Rushmore. It almost has to be separated where you have like the
OG class. Where him and Sid will be leading the way on the new one. And that's just how it has to be.
Yeah, I think everybody, especially nowadays, like, you have to realize what Sid and OV meant to the game.
Where the game is now coming in.
They were drafted years different, but coming in the same year because they'll walk out, right?
Yeah.
And the game, it was on the Outdoor Life Network.
Right.
Yeah.
It was on the OLL.
Yeah.
And look at the salaries now.
Like, those two are directly, like, the reason that these guys that Celebrini is making $19 million next year.
guys getting choppered into like Alaska
and dropped off naked and like
survival videos and then
hockey would come on. There wouldn't even be a pregame show
they'd go to like, there'd be like 1830
left in the first coming off naked and
afraid on the OLN.
We got Crosby Ovechkin, rookie year together.
I didn't love
that I think you were behind
OV walking me on the TNT
broadcast house. I'd not kind of hurt.
That move was gross. I mean, he goes through the legs.
He's just way faster, better, bigger,
stronger than me. I don't think that
needed to be on the TNs who were on your side though.
I didn't even notice that that was you.
Oh, yeah, thanks.
I did first.
It was the first clip.
I'm like, why, you guys do my man's like this?
You think I picked the clips?
I do.
I do deep down.
One of the other things my nose, buddy.
Let's hear it.
I see a booger eater over here.
But like you, I called my kids down.
Last time, my kids aren't huge hockey fans.
And I'm like, you have to watch this.
Like the intro to him.
Like, yeah.
I think it's going to be one of those things.
Like, I'll remember that for the rest of my life.
His kids announcing him knowing that it's his last game there.
That was special.
So we get the tunnel camera and they play a little bit of it before the game,
but we get it before we go live on air.
Watching him in the Washington Capitals,
like each guy come out of the locker room before they hit the ice for warm-up
and how they go over to him for their special handshake.
I could watch that every single game for 84 games.
They have such good vibes in that hallway before they go out.
Did you hear what he's doing next year?
What?
He's like a choreographer for NBA team handshakes.
He has that many.
Wizards, yeah.
He's going right into that.
He's going to go save another league?
I feel like OSHA was kind of the big guy on that too.
He was great in that.
Oh, Carlson, all the all the backstrom.
In terms of the game.
Bands make them dance.
That, uh, that tuck Wilson, Pierre-Luc Dubois line.
Scary.
That's a problem.
I saw some tweet said like this line needs a nickname,
the Arby's line, because we got the beef.
I didn't hate that one.
I love that.
But I know Caps fans are going to be good.
That line needs a nickname.
Because good luck stopping those three when they get going.
Do we have any good ideas in here for names?
I'm the worst at stuff like that.
Absolutely worst.
Keith will get something going for us.
But, you know, Washington took care of business there.
Pittsburgh made it pretty exciting, though.
They came back and, I mean, it was a pretty good game.
And then Ryan Leonard with a snipe.
So of the 101 games they faced off together, it was only the ninth time that both of them were held pointless.
No shit.
I was actually surprised to even hear it was nine.
I would have thought three.
What?
I would have thought like three.
And it was a bit of a tough night for Sid, minus four, which you rarely see that.
And how many games has Sid played?
I would say 1,400 and something.
I was just to say, was that the first time he was minus 4?
No, six time in his career.
Okay.
But that's still good, man.
He's going against the top one.
1,400, 24.
1424, so that was the 6 time.
I mean, I think I was minus 4, 6 times that I had, what, 300 games?
I'll tell you, I want to see that his stats the next night after minus 4, next game.
That would be a good one to check out.
But, yeah, Washington looks great.
movies last year kind of crazy really appreciate him and see if they can go on a run so oh do you want to
do you think uh about the number okay so uh i don't know if it was for the whole season it might
have been in new york when wayne was was doing his like his like swan song and when he was going
from building the building um they they i know at msg they put 99 behind the net because obviously
that was known as wayne's office he kind of patented i don't like it was kind of like the um semi pro
where they did the alley-oop where people were like,
oh, the two-fowls.
Like, Wayne started using the back of the net,
like no one had ever really done before.
And he kind of revolutionized the game.
So they put the 99 behind the net in order to honor him at MSG.
And I was thinking, well, now that he's the greatest goal store of all time
and where he buttered his bread was on the offside one-timer at the top of the circle,
they should put the number eight there like they did for Wayne behind the net.
completely agree.
Now, I don't know then what they would do for Cid.
Maybe they would put it where the, like the arches are, the McDonald's arches.
Yeah.
Because that was kind of,
where is the stick handling pregame?
Yeah, it's just superstition.
He's known as a superstitious guy.
So they should put big 87s where he would do the McDonald's arches and fuck,
McDonald's should fucking buck up and pay for it to like do it.
I was thinking with the OV one too.
You know, the league's about making monies and the sponsorships.
it should be a subway and a Coca-Cola for eight
because OV, you know, the classic seeing him walk on the plane
with a subway bag on the Coca-Cola.
But if we get a picture, a still image of a one-timer goal,
him standing on the eight that...
Oh, like a silhouette of him.
I mean, fuck, dude.
No, I'm saying, like, if they put the eight there
and he rips a one-timer home from there
and you get that picture forever of him standing just next to the eight
and ripping from his office, that's a good idea, Biz.
You're an idea guy.
Did they do it at MSG only?
Yeah, so they did it at MSG only for his final game, April 18th, 1999.
That final game against Pittsburgh, I believe it's going to be in Washington.
It's the last game of the regular season.
It's on the ESPN broadcast.
They need to put the number eight at the offside one-timer side.
They have to do that.
And I got a chance to ask him because we obviously known forever that he drinks Coca-Cola on the bench.
So we got the opportunity to interview him.
And normally it's a Tarek Alba Shere who gets to talk to him on behalf of the T&T broadcast,
so we got to talk to him.
I wanted to know how that all originated.
And I guess there was a marathon runner from back in Russia that he learned that from,
where he said like when I need like an energy spike, I just do a little bit of Coca-Cola.
And when, you know, people are saying like, duh, like that's obvious.
That's why the Beast Mo did the Skittles.
Well, when Ovi was, you know, 17, 18, he probably had no clue about how body chemistry
work. So he's heard all this marathon runner from Russia. He still might not have any clue. And it's a little
faux pot to have a soda on the bench. Yeah, there's one guy we can get away with it and it's him, right? So
it's pretty sick to know in modern day, like how everybody's obsessed with diets that the greatest
goal score of all time was crushing Coca-Cola on the bench. So it's time for them to buck up and
sponsor that grade eight offside one-timer side. And I think that that's it for stats that we had
in order to kind of honor them and pump his tires.
But this ain't the end.
Both those guys have gas left in the tank and we'll see what they can do.
I think for them in playoffs,
like everyone will be rooting for them if they get in and have a good shot of winning
just to see if Ovi could win his last year,
like a Ray Bork type situation, that would be incredible.
I don't think I'll cry when Ovi's,
like Ovi's last game.
Just because I don't, I guess, have as close to
of an emotional connection to him and like, you know,
Sid's Canadian.
in. I got a chance to play with them.
But when, when like,
it's obviously going to be emotional when OV
retires, but when Sid retires, man,
like, I think I'll fucking, I think
I'll cry like a boy. You think, dude, my
kids are like, what's wrong? It's like, we've been living in a
trailer, but stuff for this guy.
This house
but, hey, you know,
we get to talk about them the whole rest
of the season, but these guys are,
the reason that all these guys are signing
20.8 million,
fucking five-year
offer sheet contracts are because of those two guys right there.
So thank you to them for carrying the league for as long as they have.
No doubt.
Well said.
And then we go to Detroit also this week since we last recorded.
Another guy carrying an organization.
Dylan Larkin.
And I didn't know how long he'd be out.
All of a sudden that morning skate was like Larkin's playing tonight.
Oh, home game.
Here we go.
And the first time he touches the puck.
It's loud.
It's loud.
And I really respected after he said,
Like, I knew, I knew everything to expect.
I knew what to expect on first home game of the year when I was on the bench.
I knew what to expect when I touched the puck.
I'm just here now to try to play as well as I can and help this team.
Now, I think I said last episode, play well, and they ain't going to boo.
And I, and I think, was it Merles or memes?
Memes said Larkin scored.
No, memes said Larkin and McKenna are both scoring tonight.
And sure should have happened.
But Larkin looked great.
He also had an assist.
He had another great chance he could have score.
they beat Ottawa in kind of a nasty game.
At one point, Cousins was chirping Larkin for getting the C-stripped.
I'm like, well, it's not like he didn't request a trade and they just stripped the sea.
Like, I don't, that chirps didn't make sense to me.
Like, he literally said, I don't want to be here anymore.
Cousins is going to go down as like a, well, right now he's a probably top five rat in the NHL.
Would you say?
I always think of a text he sent you at like two in the morning.
You motherfucker.
Because I called him a rat for reasons like you.
that. Like to me
I, and I said... He doesn't think he's a rat?
I don't know, but
I mean it with the utmost
respect and compliment where I'm like,
you are a piece of shit out there.
Guys want to kill you. I remember
a guy from the blues going down
to the locker room to try to,
after he said something, like he
crosses the line out there with his chirps.
And then for him to do the sea gesture...
You didn't say you'd take him on your team.
I know. Anyone would take a guy like that.
Yeah, you need pieces.
3 a.m. death threat.
Like it's Gary Lawless saying, you better talk about this guy that we just picked up.
But here's what I have to say to Wings fans at this point.
If you have any chance of making playoffs in the near future,
they don't.
You need to start,
you need to get on your knees and you need to slob the D boss's hammer right fucking now.
You need to beg for forgiveness.
Because maybe,
just maybe he'll change his mind and maybe he'll shoot a text over to Edmondson
and they can get the ball rolling on this.
season because it's not over yet you guys had a dog shit start without him in the lineup you have
no chance no chance of making playoffs and now all of a sudden i'm hearing all these rumblings and
he's booing the fucking ownership group uh somebody i'm getting a bunch of dms from from level-headed
redwings fans i do that they they they try to sign stamcoast and bring stamp coast in when his
deal was up and an ownership group nixed it by paying by paying him saying he was too old and they didn't
want to fork over the dog.
Asha owns them.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
I'm not idiot last year.
He's done.
He got 44 goals, I think.
So you got this guy who you booed opening night.
You're booing every time touches the puck who sets up a goal, goes and scores a goal.
Then he defends a teammate and almost gets in a scrap.
Then he's getting fucking ridiculed by the other bench, but then still keeps competing for
your team to lead you to, was that their first win of the season against Ottawa?
I believe so, yeah.
I believe that was their first win of the season.
moving forward, I better not hear any booze.
I don't give a fuck what your guy's reasoning is,
but I'm Team D boss now.
He wants some help.
He doesn't want to waste his years away in Detroit,
getting no three agent signings,
and then ownership after the ownership of the past.
Now Chris has taken over,
and apparently he's got the alligator arms.
You need to buck up and bring in some guys
to surround this team with good players,
and fans need to have a complete look in the mirror right now
as to what the fuck they're booing
why. That's my opinion on it.
Great take. No? Yeah. I know.
I agree 100% with what you said.
And what I thought was cool after Larkin scored, you could tell, like, he's
been going through it, right? Obviously, he's from there.
He didn't even really celebrate. I think he was just a
look up and his family must have been in a box or sitting up there, and he looked up
and pointed and was like, you're here
with me. Like, you know, it's okay.
You see some people there, right? I don't know.
I'm completely speculating that it was his family.
No, that was to Chris Hill. She said, go get me a fucking free agent, bitch.
And then at the end of the,
they were interview him after the game and he said,
with the scrum after he was like,
you know,
it was a joy when I turned around.
I saw four other guys in my team in there with them.
So obviously the guys have his back,
right?
They will go to battle for them.
They played with them or whether you knew there or not.
He's got the respect throughout the league.
So I think.
What's got like,
though,
playing with a guy that's made a trade request?
Like,
have you guys,
I don't,
I don't ever remember having a guy.
It's kind of pretty awkward, though, right?
I honestly,
I feel like,
if a guy was like, I want to be traded
and you're in the middle of a game
in the middle of battle, it's like,
he's with you right now.
Unless he's blatantly dogging it,
which you could see quite obviously Larkin wasn't,
I don't feel like there's like room for,
for any, like, wary or panic
about what this guy's doing because you're just all, like,
pulling the same rope in that 60, 65 minute game.
Ciderhead's interesting quotes, though, after the game
where he's like, this was their chance to let him hear it,
like, basically, like, express your feelings against him.
Kind of like, have at it, go at it.
I do think that when they...
Yeah, but here's my opinion on that, though.
Okay?
So, Marit Sider, I'm going to go on Hockey DB right now.
Marit Sider.
He's been a Detroit Red Wing.
This is his sixth season, okay?
And I would say, I don't know if I want to call it a hometown discount.
I think that Maritz, at the time, he signed for fair value coming out of his entry-level contract.
Yeah, it was a good deal.
He hasn't been there for fucking 11 seasons like Dylan Larkin, waiting and waiting and waiting.
Like he wasn't there.
When Dylan Larkin waved goodbye to Zetterberg and Datsuk,
there were some years where he was fucking leading the team
and scoring with like 60 fucking points.
And there was nobody else.
So he does that for whatever,
four or five years during this rebuild.
They get Marit Sider.
They get Lucas Raymond.
And then he's waiting, waiting, waiting.
And still, if we want to go over the same stuff from last podcast,
they haven't signed a big time free agent.
You hear now that they try to sign Stamcoast to fucking help out,
to get a guy who can tuck you 35, 40 goals,
unless you're posh,
and you think the guy's washed up.
They haven't brought anyone in.
They haven't really got,
they haven't gotten,
like,
people defended the goaltending situation.
They don't have a number one goaltender.
I don't think they've had a number one goaltender since he's been there.
He,
at this point,
he has a right to be frustrated.
Absolutely.
Like,
that's,
I don't,
like,
I wasn't following it as closely early on.
where like I'm on Larkin's side now.
Like I'm 100% on Larkinside.
And you're saying talk to Sider in five years if they still have made the price.
Bingle.
I think how's he going to feel about it?
Like I don't know.
When you're a player coming in, like obviously when you first start, you're just trying
to make it, right?
And then once you make it a year or two, three years, then you're trying to make as
much money as you can.
And then it gets to a point.
You're like, I need to win.
I want to win.
I need a Stanley Cup.
Then you're thinking about that.
Probably year eight, nine.
And then he goes and wins an Olympic goal.
he's probably like, fuck, like I'm on the back nine of my career.
I've already, you know, wasted away 10, 11 years here.
It's time to make a move.
And I respect him for giving them.
Like, he didn't do it to them right before training camp.
He did it during the summertime to give them, you know, fair enough time to make it happen.
And they haven't got it done.
So I'm with you.
I'm on his side.
So it's kind of funny.
So I don't want to say that I've been in this situation because I, it happened in junior.
I was drafted to the North Bay Centennials.
our first year there we ended up making the playoffs
like got in like we're the last seed we got swept by St. Mike's
we were out in four games.
The next year we were sold to Saginaa.
I think we won 12 games that year.
It was a hard year.
Like your draft year?
That was my draft year.
Luckily for me,
and this,
I guess you can kind of compare it to Larkin.
I got to go to under 18 at the end of summer
before entering my second year.
We got to win the gold medal.
So I came in that season on a high.
Got to play in the top prospects game that year at the end of that year because we didn't make playoffs.
I got to go play under 18 world championships with guys like Ryan Getsloff.
We had an unreal team.
That was when I played OV for the first time, first game, and he had the Hattrick.
They beat a six-three.
And my first game, international world juniors against OV at a hat-trick as well.
Oh, dude, he was a, I couldn't believe.
As a 16-year-old world juniors in Halifax.
And he's two years younger than you, right?
So it was 83s and 84, so he was in 85.
and just lit us up first games.
So my, so that, what I just described,
the year I won both under 18s,
that was my second year,
but we only won 12 games with Saginaa.
The following year, we were dog shit again,
like bottom of the barrel, didn't make playoffs.
No, wonder you were a mess off the ice.
No, I wasn't, I wasn't drinking a lot in junior.
I was actually, like,
that started when you got to throw, that's smart.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
I got some money in the bank,
and I was living on my own
and fucking live with Dan Carcillo and Stephen Dixon,
and I went off the rails.
But my fourth year junior was my last year.
And by then, buddy, I'd been fighting, trying to lead,
sticking up for my teammates, try to lead by example.
I would always work my bag off in practice where I became a little bit
emotionally unattached because I was sick of losing and I'd had enough of it.
And I knew Mike Feuda because he was the GM of under 17 and just kept in touch with
them because I played under 17 with them for Team Ontario.
And they were trying to trade for me and bring me over to.
Owen Sound to the point where my teammates and the organization knew it and they were a little bit
pissed and kind of turned on me and like I remember like a couple guys in the team were a little bit
bitter but I'm like you guys haven't been here for the for the for the four years of how like
okay I've been fighting for all of you and I'm still fighting for all you and dropping the mitts
and getting my axe kicked by guys like Brendan Pruss so that was I went through three and a half
years of junior and I got to that point so Larkin who took a team for
friendly deal and was battling with
Eisenman and how cheap Chris Illich
with not even wanted to pay him for
what he'd done at that point as their first line center
to now getting to this point
where that's where why I'm
sympathizing for him. Ten years
of putting up with this and then to
say I've been here through this rebuild
and with the money that
the in the valuations of these teams
and being an original six you guys
can't even fucking buck up and go overpay
a guy like Stephen Stamcoast to bring him
in or bring any other free agent.
what are they at in the salary cap right now?
I think they spend the least of any team right now.
Like, how is that even possible?
And Edvenson's not getting paid.
Edvinson's not getting paid.
And what are they?
You got 16 million cap space just right now.
And what are they on, what are they as far as what they're spending?
God, 60 mil they'll have next season.
Okay.
And where are they as far as spending throughout the whole league right now as far as where
there might be one or two teams that are spending less amount of money than them?
Yeah.
And it would be the two teams you expect.
the Vancouver Calgary Seattle Cracking.
Yeah.
Well, I'll tell you.
Why are you not paying Edvinson?
It's crazy.
Why are you not paying evidence?
Well, because the Hork is, he has handcuffed.
He's an interim gym so he can't even.
This has a ownership.
This has nothing to do with Hork.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
So you can't even make decisions right now.
If you fans want to boo,
your boo ownership.
I was told, well, that's why they said sell the team.
That's booing the ownership.
No one booing larkin.
No.
The Edvinson contract offer, I heard it was insulting.
like fully in that where he went from being and this is a very good source went from being very okay we'll figure this out he's paying for his own insurance to come practice to the team contract offer came in and he was so upset with it that it was like all right give him back to see during the larkin game that ottawa game i actually started thinking about winnipeg and hellabuck and shout out winnipeg dude because they look great so far they had a big win against colorado on wednesday night i think that was colorado's first loss
They won on a Kyle Connor's second goal of the game with a minute left,
which was a sick pass by Shifley and an unreal release.
Kyle Connor is so...
He's fucking nasty.
It was crazy thinking about how he didn't play a huge role with the Team USA
in Four Nations or Olympics.
That's how, like, loaded they were.
But that guy is such a good goal score.
And I was like, fuck, I wonder.
And Stuart Skinner looked great in that game.
And I was like, I wonder if Hellibucks like,
see and Lark and go the opposite route.
And like, almost like, fuck, should I have, like, just gone?
and played and waded out until
his trade, they still would have known
it's an interesting conversation, right?
Because you're seeing a guy that did the same
thing you did on the same gold medal
winning team as you.
And on a very similar, actually even
a better team friendly contract with Hellebuck
who now is sitting at home
and it's a lot easier, Biz. You mentioned
that Anson Carter said when he sat out
with the Bruins, the Bruins weren't scoring,
they weren't playing well, so it's like, all right.
And a notoriously cheap team at that time.
Yes, yes.
Yes, and Shut up Bruins' ownership, I think, said they will spend to the cap no matter what the cap is.
I saw that the other day.
But now Hellebuck's sitting around and Winnipeg looks good and the team vibes there seem high.
And I just kind of feel, I don't want to say I feel for him, right?
Like, he made a decision and I respect that.
That's a SpongeBob Square Pants meme, the guy looking through the filter at the buddies half.
Yeah, you're watching the Leafs.
It's something where it's like, oh, shit.
Like, now I miss playing the game I love.
I'm not getting paid.
The team looks great.
When am I going to get traded?
So I think Larkin dealing with what he's dealing with,
but at least being in the lineup and battling,
is a lot easier than what Halebuck's going through right now.
And who knows when he ever gets traded?
Because the longer Winnipeg plays like this,
the longer it's going to take the deal.
And the less they'll get, right, for him?
Yeah.
He's sitting out half a year.
Where Larkin, in my opinion,
is three more years.
The price is probably going up a little bit.
And just to go back to, like,
my last year, junior, like, this sums it up too.
I've hit 28 games in Sagina that year half the year,
a goal, six assist, minus 19.
The second half of the year, 35 games,
two goals, 11 assists, 13 points, plus 20.
So Larkin, he probably wants to go to a place
like it was like the Olympics where it's like,
yeah, everybody's carrying their own weight,
like we're winning, things are a little bit easier.
You just grow tired over time.
And going back to you comparing the situation,
Like Larkin's elevating his stock where hella buck man, that's a lonely feeling.
Oh, dude.
You're a little bit envious.
What?
And Larkins getting paid.
That's another one.
No, I know.
Now, um, trade proposal.
Because now two teams, Boston and L.A., people have been rumbling and kicking tires on maybe
those two teams might land Larkin.
I feel like, like what a buy field for Larkin straight up, get it done?
I think L.A. is kind of nuts for that.
at the age.
What is the deal by field signed?
It's somewhat close to Larkin, right?
Yeah, I think it's around seven or eight.
I thought he signed a bridge.
Well, I'll say this.
I've seen locally in Boston with like people saying how much they want Larkin
and how Zaka's names possibly like on the trade block
and they don't want to have to pay him what he wants.
And this isn't Bruins fan.
Every fan base in the league wants guys.
and then you bring up what you'd have to send back to them.
And they're like, no, no, no, no.
It's like, you're never getting a player.
Like the Bruins, like, we can't trade Hagen's.
We can't trade Leterno.
We can't.
It's like, well, boy, it's like, you're not fucking getting Larkin then.
And this isn't just Bruins fans.
You have to be willing to part with like legit assets that you plan as being in your future
to get a player like Dylan Larkin.
So I guess I could see him fitting in there.
Is that a team he's willing to go to?
Sock up makes perfect sense to go back the other way too.
He's making four mill right now.
he's 29 years old, scored 30 goals last year.
Yeah, but then Detroit did have to sign him.
But you can sign him, right?
Why wouldn't he sign him?
Yeah, that's probably a guy who would...
If he would want to sign there.
Yeah, I mean, he'll take an $8, 9 million.
Yeah, I would imagine UFA.
He's UFA.
Yeah.
I would imagine so that you could lose.
I think he would have to agree to sign before, like, in the midst of the trade.
And like, I don't think Zaka's turning down, like, if they're offering on, like, a good number in the,
and like that...
Agreed.
...seven eight million range.
Like, I mean, like, I mean, like...
Yeah, but if you're saying they're alligator runs and won't even offer
stamp coast money. You think they're going to offer Zaka
8 million? Well, I think that maybe
they'll smarten up and understand
that the league's in a completely different place now
and if you want to foster somewhat of a
decent squad, like you're just going to
have to buck up. And once again,
going back to the Larkin situation, I
was just comparing mine
in the sense of like, I think at this
point he just wants a little bit more help
and if they're not willing to get it, he doesn't want to
keep burning these. He's
he's got what, three, four
years of prime hockey left in him.
and then it's kapits,
I would say that the guy deserves
to be able to go on a bit of a run here.
Yeah.
And I don't think he sees the light
at the end of the tunnel
with a team who's now trying to nickel and die
in their star defensemen
when they have fucking $60 million in cap space next year.
Like, where else are you going to spend it?
You ain't going to go sign a free agent
because nobody even wants to go there anymore.
What, um...
Preach?
For each.
What is the, did you see the player of the game,
Winnipeg?
giving out. You know how every team has their own?
Yeah. What is that?
So I saw something. They did
like a bonding trip before and it was
like a ropes course type thing. They did like
a truss jump. They climbed up this huge
totem pole and jumped off. They had to like say something they were leaving behind
and then say something that they wanted to bring to their team.
So I think it's just tying in that like
what they did in the beginning of the year and it's
I like how they give it to two players.
They give it to one and he picks.
He takes a support guy.
I like that.
Yeah, because in the jump, like, you needed guys holding the rope.
It says it represents pulling people into the fight.
Yeah.
And with a team who, including us, was like, brutal, going to be horrible.
Like, they are like, fuck everyone.
So that is kind of a cool, you know, player of the game award or two guys.
So for the motivation.
There you go.
The good stories with Fowler, obviously.
And then Nicole Perfetti, we talked about him.
Yep.
He needs to have that year.
He's got three goals, three assists and four games.
So shout out to him having a good year.
But did you guys see the O.
No, was it an OT winner?
The Conner's goal?
No, it was the end of regulation.
But Michael McCar pinched in and McKinnon covered for him.
And Shifley knew he was like a shark with blood in the water.
He knew it was a forward.
So it just takes him.
And forwards just can't skate backwards.
I don't understand it.
Got him in deep and then made a great pass.
And like you guys said early, Connor, man, that kid can just score.
Yeah.
So with that said, I don't know if we have.
had Winnipeg on the no watch list,
but we're definitely not only going to have to show them more respect,
but they have been entertaining to watch.
And any team led by Lowry,
you know that,
I mean,
going back to their team award thing at the end of the games,
like he's going to drag him in the fight.
I hope they're able to get a good return for Hellebuck,
because all of a sudden that makes things interesting for them
if they're getting good goaltending from Stuart Skinner.
Stu Chains was unreal last game.
Oh, yeah.
Did you hit,
they're chanting his name,
Stu. It might be one of those things.
Like, Edmonton might be the new Philly where like any goalie, like, you just can't be good
there. Yeah, you turn it through a pumpkin.
They're just too hard on them. I don't know what it is.
Where? In Edmonton.
Levi looks incredible. Levi does look good.
The second coming of Grant here.
What hell are you guys talking about? Sample size.
Don't even make me talk Edmonton right now because all these Edmonton haters out there
are fucking in shambles. Let me tell you, that's for sure.
With the no watch list discussed quickly, let's, let's, would it be a top three list or a top
five. I would say top three right now. Yeah, three, you got Calgary. Seattle. You got Seattle scores,
but like still kind of there for me. Vancouver is now. Yeah, they're on. No, no, they're watched.
They're off. They're off. After their first two games versus Edmonton, they got off. You know who I have
no desire watching is I don't love watching the Kings for some reason. I'm not saying that they'll be
there forever. It's just like a team that's on that I like watch a Panarin, but I don't.
I would say Seattle, Calgary with no bad dart. I got Chicago on the wall.
Oh, yeah, Chicago is a bad club right now.
And quickly, I want to mention, we obviously, after discussing Bauer on Winnipeg would have
love to have them on, I'm just going to read you a letter he wrote us when we asked them
that.
I'm honored that somebody wrote.
He said to the crew over at Chicklets, guys, I want to reach out personally and say,
thank you for the invitation to come on the show, exclamation point.
Like so many others, I've been a fan for.
a long time and love tuning in. It's been
a whirlwind of a few days and weeks for me
and although I would love to come chat,
I also want to focus on the opportunity
in front of me and get on some solid
ground at the NHL level first. Hopefully
there will be many more times to chat in the future.
Appreciate you. Big bows.
I like more even.
And I respect the hell out of that.
The guy's just coming in, pounding
people's heads in. He doesn't think he wrote or
you think AI wrote it? You think he chipped that
into clown? I think the exclamation point got
me. He's not an exclamation.
point that doesn't look like
if I don't know punctuation
Bowes doesn't know punctuation
but I said it last pod
go to hockey fights and go watch
this guy's scraps in the miners
just he's a nail gun and
very very entertaining
you don't often see guys
scrap like that in the new
wave of guys no that wanted
every night yeah he's like he's hungry
and he's getting teams you're going to be hungry to have him
if you're playing like that you can do the job
in your own zone somebody said
mark the date. They got Montreal
coming up.
Jack I. Him and Jackie. Which Jackye?
Now there's two of them. I wouldn't be
shocked if Bowes fights both of them
in one game. They're both in the lineup.
I wouldn't be shocked. October 25th.
Okay. Then November 3rd, right?
That's soon. Oh, so he'll get one,
one game and then won the next.
So, Florida goes out west
to start the year and
we talked Barcove, right? Great news.
Great news for Panthers and their fans.
to eight weeks, I believe it was.
So no surgery. That's awesome.
That's awesome. It could be earlier.
Could be later. They don't know.
Okay, but either way, he's not gone for the year.
That's great news. And then you're watching them play, and I thought Marcian blew out as
ACL, MCL, PCL. That looked horrible, driving in the net.
Left knee gets caught under them. But same thing. I think six to eight weeks, they came out
and said, right?
Did they? I'm not sure.
Six to eight weeks, potentially. If it's third degree MCL,
that's about six to eight weeks.
But in terms of both guys where you're watching,
you're like,
did you just lose those two guys for the year?
It's good news.
And maybe,
maybe in a way,
with the run,
we think they can go on,
those guys are a little bit more rested.
Granted,
you're coming back and playing a year.
70 games left by the time they come back.
Pretty jogging.
The Marchy one was one of those ones,
like,
oh, I didn't even look at.
The barky one,
it was just like a weird fall.
I could watch that.
The Marchy one,
and then the way he was down,
like I imagine in his head,
he thought it was way worse.
So both of those guys getting the news that it's best case scenario.
I mean, that's huge for them personally, huge for the Panthers and huge for the game.
And another storyline there would be like we talk about Winnipeg, no hellabuck.
They're bonded together.
Ottawa, you know, Brady leaves.
That's a way that their room's like, hey, he didn't want to be here, kind of fuck everyone.
Same. But Ottawa and Winnipeg are similar in a way.
And Brady, I'd say like not the best start for him.
I think he's probably upset with how it's going.
But at the same time, you've been a captive somewhere,
and all of a sudden you're in a new city.
Yeah, you're with your brother and you're with this great team,
but it's going to take a little time.
Like, I'd be shocked at the end of the year if he doesn't have 30 goals.
But I can also see how at the beginning,
like every game that goes before you get not only a goal,
but a point is probably like a little stressful on him.
Buddy, we're fucking sitting here five, or on the pod five days ago,
talking about McKenna feeling the media pressure from Toronto.
when everybody talking about that,
then he gets an assist on a breakout pass.
And then next thing, you know,
we're talking about him,
we're in the Calder after he scores that goal
with Poppy and the sleepover.
So let's pump the brakes,
adjusted to a new team.
They got a little bit of adversity here going
at the start of the year exactly when you want
it to be happening.
Yeah.
I think people realize how difficult it is
coming into a new team.
And obviously, I would imagine coming into a team
that's won Stanley Cups.
A majority of those guys have been together.
He's probably,
Delegates.
Tiptoeing around.
Like he needs to assert himself.
I don't know, obviously, what's going on the locker room.
But be the guy that he is.
Obviously, he's there for a reason.
He's an unbelievable player.
But you don't want to step on toes.
You're saying, yeah, I can see that.
You're always like delegating because it's like,
this is their guy's locker room.
They've done it.
They've won.
I don't want to come in here and disrupt things.
I just want to fit in.
But you're saying eventually there becomes a point where it's just like,
no, you were a captain of an NHL team for a reason.
100%.
Grab the bull by the horns and let's fucking go.
baby and hey man like we're five
I think they're five games in after that
four game road tripper right and they start
on on the road like I bet a nice
home game will be huge for him get
playing in front of the crowd that you're going to be playing
in front of for the next you know hopefully
eight years but uh yeah I see
no doubt those guys like you say
the cream always rise to the top like he is
he will be completely fine
guys before we go any further I got to talk to you
about recess oh my goodness you should
see the jersey that they gave me
This thing is absolutely stunning.
And I am so honored at the fact that not only are they the presenting sponsor,
but they sent over a couple boxes of the best candy on the planet.
I had 10 of those boxes sent to my house.
Buddy.
How many are each box?
Well, I hope I get 10, so I can be handing these things out for Halloween.
I'll be the coolest guy in my neighborhood for handing out the peanut butter cups,
the greatest candy ever invented.
I mean, also a little fumble.
we were talking about it earlier, an ET.
The fact that another candy company didn't want to be in the movie,
Rises stepped in and they were the candy that were put on the floor
to lead the alien to them and all of a sudden, boom,
they become the coolest brand on the planet.
Reese's pieces.
Like, Rhesus.
Everyone knows them.
Everybody.
After that moment, everybody knew him.
And once again, I talk about how I get it in my blizzard.
For anyone out there looking to give away the perfect hollible,
Halloween candy. Make sure you go get a box yourself and be the coolest guy in the neighborhood.
So another thing, too, thank you to them for sponsoring Chicklets Cup as well.
It's going to be an amazing weekend. We're going to be handing these bad boys out there as well.
The official candy partner of Barstool Sports, go get Rises, wherever you stop right now.
If you stop, go get a Rises.
Mike Rousseau, the great reporter for The Wild, he did a radio interview in which he was talking about Brockford.
favor they were asked and he said i'm not going to say what what's going on until they kind of report it but
it wasn't it wasn't a minor thing now granted like he had a fracture in his skull so right away you
don't think it's minor but i think there's some stuff that that makes that pretty scary and it
hasn't really been released but there was a lot of other things going on so we had brock favor
on i ran into him this summer awesome guy incredible player kind of want to shout him out hope
everything's all right and hope this is something that that he can he can come back from
sooner rather than later
because the way Mike Russo was talking about it
did not sound good at all
so kind of thinking of him
but the wild looked good until they went to Buffalo
Wednesday was it Wednesday or Tuesday night
Buffalo came back won that game
the third period the Sabres were incredible
I think they high danger
scoring chances 8 to 1
16 to 4 chances like they just turned
it on in that building they've been doing that
I think they did that against Chicago
too that came back as well and I was reading
I think it was an article in the
athletic about guys who signed before the gold rush of this year. And one of them, I forgot about
Tage Thompson makes $7 million. He scored a goal in that wild game. He has four more, three or
four more seasons after this one, making seven. It's like, whole, but you know what? He had a good
quote about it. He's like, listen, like, if, yeah, if I was making two more million a year,
like tons of money, but I saw my dad play forever and he was on one year deals and the minors and like
the fact I got security and life-changing money,
like I don't really second-guess or think about it a lot,
where I think like some people are thinking of players that are making,
that are so underpaid with the new salaries and they must be rattled.
I don't think a lot of these guys are.
Like, he has $50 million and he gets to play in a place he loves.
And it's, it is a weird conversation, though,
that you see some guys who have signed and now are like, holy shit.
But I think more often than not, they're like, dude, it's all timing.
Yeah, the good news is he'll get.
taken care of coming out of this one.
He's 32 though, I looked.
Okay. You know, you're right. He should be able
to sign a huge ticket again. Yeah, I should
probably get to sign a three year deal.
Yeah, get close to 80, 90 million.
But also from
an opportunistic standpoint to
win, you got donor making
7 million, you got Benson making
7 million, you got him making 7,
7, Owen Powers makes 8. The only
guy making serious money there is Dahlene.
So probably opens them up to
be able to go get a guy like
hella buck or bring in some other free agents.
So yeah, it does suck that he didn't cash in.
It's kind of like when Nate signed his deal out of his entry level.
Yeah.
Where he wasn't as confident hadn't putting up those enormous seasons.
Owen Power and power, by the way.
He's been awesome.
He's been fucking ridiculously.
Yeah, he looks great.
Just going back to the contract because I feel like it's happened so quick, right?
Like usually it was like whatever.
Say a guy signed an eight-year deal like year six and seven.
They're somewhat underpaid.
But this, it just seems like,
Oh, it was immediately.
It was this summer.
In three months, it's like, oh, my God, the new league minimum is $5 million.
Like, look at Utah.
By the way, one of the nastiest power plays.
He said this already.
Globetrotter.
Schmaltz, he signed.
It was eight times eight.
Oh, my God.
He got the extra year, and I think that he really liked playing with those guys.
He'd already signed a pretty decent deal.
I think he'd originally signed it in Chicago.
But, yeah, that's a guy where, like, yeah, like, let's say this upcoming offseason
was his free agent signing year.
Like he's getting like seven times 11 or 12.
Yep.
And he's,
I think he's what,
29 or 30?
Yeah.
I thought he was a little younger.
So signing an eight year deal at close to 30 is pretty legit.
Oh,
it's nice.
He got the extra year.
And I mean,
like I said,
I think that he's a type of guy where,
you know,
they're still going to have to take care of Kel's.
He's not exactly Cooley.
Coolie makes 11.
So,
yeah,
I think he probably left a million a year on the table.
but I think he's one of those guys where at least he didn't sign it where he's in Detroit.
So funny enough, their power play last year until the Olympic break was one of the worst PPs in the league.
No way.
They came back from Olympic break.
They were second in the league for the rest of the regular season and then went one for 16 in the playoffs.
So I think bringing in Anders Lee and Troach was part of that's like, hey, now granted, I think they're both second unit.
But like that just adds a little more help on the power play that did fail them in the playoffs.
Internal pressure.
Oh, you're not fucking.
Exactly.
You're not good in front of the net.
Well, we got Anders Lee.
Well, did you see the conversation?
What's their coach's name?
Andre Tourney.
Oh, the text message with Logan Cooley.
Yeah, he's like, oh.
We're signing Anders Lee, but the only way he's going to sign here is if he's on first power play.
Like jokingly said.
Andrewsley said that to him.
And then he goes, I'll fight him for it.
And then I guess during the captain skates,
he saw him with like a shirt off and texted
turn you back. He's like, hey, I take that back.
I won't fight him.
Even though he said it's like internal
competition. That's a great
thing to have on a team. But Utah's fun to watch.
If you watch their power play, I think
every, so they've
through the first four games, they have eight power play
goals. I think it's clicking just over
60%. And I bet you
on six of those goals, five guys on the ice
touch the puck before it goes in the net.
Just not big it to the rest.
Yeah, the red, yeah, exactly.
Yeah, just snapping it through seams.
I just like, they get the two one-timers, right?
They got Kel's one-timer, Sergachev up top.
Gunther's one-timer.
Schmaltz in the ball.
Very cool, coolly out front.
Like, I love having the two one-timers.
And then when you have a bumper guy like that, like that power play.
And Sergachev is silky up there.
And he does a really good job.
He's not just shoot.
He just does those sifters in.
Like he gets it through,
that's,
you know,
but he's always looking
to make the pass
to the one-timers,
because he can shoot it too.
He can.
Merles is going to end the A-U for sifters.
I think it's,
I think shooting is last case,
you know,
like that's his last option.
I think he'd rather pass it.
The Leafs, boys.
What a night.
What a night at home against Nashville.
They go down three nothing.
They come back.
They win in overtime.
Matthews gets four points.
And McKenna gets a,
assist, you mentioned that already. And then his goal was nasty. I mean, that is a sick release,
bar down. He does get the best pictures, biz. He texted the group. He had the outdoor game
picture against Michigan State at Penn State. And then that picture of Matthews behind him,
him down on the one knee. That was a great first goal celebration. But that might be the greatest
first goal picture of all time. I think that we're going to get called out on that one.
There's got to, there's got to be other ones. There's got to be the way that the cameras are now.
you might be right.
But the Leafs,
when I heard about that slumber party sleepover.
Bomo.
That was the part of the...
So he's living with Tavours, correct?
Yeah.
And they had them all at the podium,
all the first overall picks.
J.T. Matthews and Gavin after the game.
And I think there was...
And Stamcoe scored in that game.
So that would be four first overall picks
score in that game.
Stamco's passed, I think,
Aginla and Sackick in all-time goals.
So he keeps doing it.
Good job.
Detroit. Good job, Pasha. Pasha, by the way, the devils might be frauds. I'm telling you,
buddy. I'm, I'm, we're done talking about the Leafs? Oh, no, no. Well, hey, I don't know.
What do you want to say? You're just going to say. How sad you are. I was here. That was
a tough night for you. That was a tough night. That was a tough night. That was a tough night.
That looks like a fun night to be a Leafs fan. Yeah. But like you said, the week before,
it was like, send him back to college. Like, what if he's not ready for the NHL.
And then, boom, you get one and one. All right, let's plan the parade. Oh, that is this. That is this.
That was a great assist.
That's a wit assist.
Just a little four-foot touch pass.
And then the guy goes end-to-end and you're like, yes, I'm on the sports.
I'll never forget.
I got one of those in New York.
It was like one of the first shifts when we were playing Phoenix versus New York.
And I made a little pass like that and come to the bench after.
And biz is like, how nice is that getting a point first shift?
Now you can just shut it down.
I'm like, what?
I can't just shut it down.
Oh, you're not going on tire skates.
Hey, so I like to do this.
There's more important shit to talk about.
there's lots of positive news around the league.
The Devils, it's a nothing burger.
There's nothing to talk about.
I would say the devil's, like,
it's not even...
You're worried about the goal.
No, no.
How can't see you to the fire Keefe chance?
What's that?
How close to you to the fire,
Sheldon Keefe chance?
Got to give them at least five more games.
Okay. Oh, nice of you.
Yeah. Yeah.
I would say, like, going back to the AJ stuff,
and obviously she was great in the way she handled that,
I feel like,
Things are a little tense around the Devils team.
I feel like there's a little tension there.
I couldn't believe that Utah tweeted out a picture of plastic cutlery.
Like their actual team account after they beat Devils.
That was that that was a little.
I was like, wow.
I'm also hearing rumblings that the New Jersey,
the New Jersey Devils PR like were like mad and they like got upset with her.
and like, you know, called her.
Like, we're like, holy fuck devils.
Get it together, man.
If that's what you're worried about,
I don't think that the team's worth talking about right now.
It's been three fucking games.
It's just a complete nothing burger.
There's other league.
Well, if the Rangers lose their first three games,
like last year, you're saying frauds.
They're the worst team to ever exist, blah, blah, blah.
So why is it any different when your team, thank you?
Great question, yeah.
Well, because they're not 0 and 3.
They're 1 and 2.
under the hood has been solid,
like they're not getting completely trounced,
and I'm just not fucking worried about it.
Does it concern you?
When would you be worried?
If in five games...
What is there a record through 10 games that has you worried?
If through 10 games,
they're like
four and six, I'm worried.
Okay, all right, I think you're lucky to do that.
All right. All right. So that means that
in the next seven,
they need to win more than three games.
Yeah, for sure.
Okay, okay.
All right.
And then you'll come back on and maybe address the wetlies of the fan base.
Yes, I'll address everyone.
And they're not having a goalie.
Well, they have goalies.
Okay, okay.
Does it concern you that Tate McCray is dropping a new album in the upcoming weeks here called the quote-unquote housewife?
And it's about a woman who can't be contained.
I don't know if that has any relation to the Devils or Jack, but let's say it does.
Well, Jack can't be contained either.
Jack can't be contained.
And I'm pretty sure that Cole Cillinger popped off after she put out that album about him.
So, thank you, Tate.
So, Pasha, your next three, you got to win.
Yeah, they're playing the Canucks.
And Ottawa, Detroit.
And then you got the Rangers.
That's four straight wins right there.
All right.
I think Pete he's going to put on a show against them.
But you guys want the biggest lock ever?
Yes.
Paul Carter's score on Saturday against the devil's back in Jersey.
Oh, yeah.
Andy's hot coming in.
Okay.
I don't know.
I said you guys game up for a bag of pucks.
I'll bet that.

We asked J.T. Miller because I think Rangers fans got a kick out of his text to us
saying, what the fuck are you losers going to talk about now?
So we wanted to quote every episode or maybe one.
once a week from him.
He said,
you guys suck at golf,
you suck at podcasting,
and you can suck every guy
in the Rangers.
Dick, I actually made up that quote.
He wouldn't give us one.
He was thinking that.
He wouldn't give us one.
That sounds like J-T.
I wrote a golf cart with him.
I think he was thinking that,
but he said,
I can't force a quote.
So when I have a quote to give you
as we keep rolling,
I'll let you know.
Okay.
So we are on,
we are on like the,
quote,
we're on the loser watch
from Rangers fans
if they keep going.
As somebody who's recently single as far as like NHL teams,
I'm getting a little tingly feeling for the New York Rangers.
Dude.
And they were your original.
And you can go against thickhead over there that we just have.
Yeah, but it was like maybe it was one of those like you kind of like secretly liked them.
Like when you're like when you're like in grade school and you're like, you're like mean.
And like that's like the front you're putting on where you actually have feelings for them.
Yeah.
And and.
You pulled their hair.
I won't go too much in the detail.
There was something I said in the last podcast that we had to delete.
And let's just say that I'm being poached by someone within the organization to try to join forces.
Like if you listen to the pot and early, like high up in the organization.
You listen to the pot early, you might have heard.
They may or may not have something to do with getting guys like J.T. Miller paid.
That's all I'm going to say.
Okay, okay.
And we can't go into this in detail.
I can't.
I basically signed a verbal N.
that that's all I can talk about right right now at least at this point so how close are you to signing
your deal with the Rangers is being a fan and do they do Rangers fans do you want him oh are you kidding
me they love chaos I fucking love me I can't see them wanting you but I can I can see you being in
the mix in in in NYC what original six could be like a it could be a friends with benefits type
thing like you never know okay okay it doesn't need to be like a forever thing it could just be like
You're not going to say I love you?
It could be like a Jacob Allorty and Kendall Jenner type thing where they're just,
you know, just two people that are vibing that are fucking hard and, you know, we're in the
medium mix and this is, you know, we're here to fucking move the numbers, right?
Okay.
Okay.
That's fair.
That's very fair.
We're here to make content, baby.
I mean, I think you're as close to coming back as an NHL player as you are and being
in good graces with NY Rangers ownership.
but he's got a verbal
many times before.
Verbal NDA.
I know, I know, but God knows
he does not live by the
he does not live by NDA.
No.
Like he,
Biss signs in NDA,
that is a complete piece of toilet paper.
Like he will say anything
at any time.
The Rangers are like,
like the bar star girl
where like you know she'll bring you home
and she'll like bend you over,
she'll give you the rusty trombone.
Okay.
She'll do whatever, like mascara dripping.
might not help your you don't you don't want to like marry the bar star right it's just it's going to be a fling
it's going to be fun but maybe don't walk it because then like three years into marriage she's still
going out three nights a week and then you're back home like you have a fake boob on you're feeding the baby
a new york giant go out back on his daughter bent over there's an NBA player in town she doesn't
come home that night gottaboo's giving her a concussion in the rapper pretty similar to you so um
Who knows? Maybe I'll end up on a paywall.
With that. Let's throw it over to our guy, Swaggy P.
I kind of want to hear about Swaggy P's life and a sneaky, nasty hockey player coming up.
Keith witnessed it in person.
So right now, Swaggy P.

Doesn't matter what league you're in.
This man dangles.
I believe he was just picked up by memes on the road in the seaport in his rollerblades.
No surprise there.
Swaggy Pete.
What's going on, buddy?
Babs was talking about him.
He was offered a ride, but he said, no, I will roll a blade next to the car.
You know who was trying to pick him up?
Yeah, who.
Bang guy.
Oh, Jesus.
Who's that?
Bang.
You don't know who bang guy is?
No.
Well, we haven't talked about it during the fog yet.
Glassbanger in Dallas.
I think he got his, like, fourth or fifth, Dewey.
And now I think he's going to go to the clink for a long time.
So he needs the wheel.
He's going to be roll blades.
We can get him a pair.
We got to get him blades.
We'll get a shoe size.
We'll get a pair of bower skates and we'll get him going, right?
You're a bower guy.
through and through.
I mean, what they have done for me
like going through it
and like, I mean, I don't know if that was
sorry, but I faked it until I made it.
Like I was buying my own sticks.
Posting being like,
look at this new stick I got from Bauer and, you know,
finally. You were giving them free
advertisement. Pre advertising. Like just
happy to be doing it or whatever,
you know, scratching the bank account to get new sticks.
And I got a phone call. I remember it
so clearly. I was on the ice.
And I pick it up at 603 number.
They're like, hey, is this Pete?
I'm like, yeah.
They're like, sorry, who from Bauer's sending you stuff?
And I was like, am I in trouble?
They're like, no, no, no, you're not in trouble.
What we'd like to talk about kind of like a formal partnership.
And I was like, man, what a crazy.
That's on growing up, you know, seeing all the brands and stuff.
And, you know, when you're in the cheese, you know, like the East Coast,
you ain't no one calling you asking what sticks you want, right?
They're like, hey, you want a P-92.
Sir, I'm a lefty.
They're giving you a gas station twigs, you know, for fucking Canadian tire.
So you played in the coast?
Yeah, I played wheeling.
Okay, okay, no shit, okay.
They had the biz bobblehead night, and they're like, no chance we get them here.
And I don't think you ended up making it.
No, I got it and called up, I didn't get that point.
You were done playing, I believe, yes.
Okay, wow.
And they brought it back for the.
Was it the bobble fists?
You know what?
It was a long time.
ago and I'm not sure if it was the Bobble face.
But you were, there was still a lot of jerseys with your name on the back.
Essentially he did the city, dude.
Oh, yeah, I did get the key to the city.
And then I lost it.
I didn't even leave this.
It can get you, what, three, four places?
That's all there is there.
The one strip.
Yeah, that's a Washington Ave.
That's where we all lived.
Yeah, there are three of the four houses there.
So where did you grow up plants, wagging?
Vermont.
Yep, born and raised in Vermont.
back there now.
Where are you?
86.
Okay.
So I played against Swaggy growing up.
No shit.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, Swag.
I think that so many people are, like, you're so well known now on Instagram and the skills.
They don't know my name, right?
So that's the thing.
They just go by stage name.
So like, when they try to promote something and they put my real name, I'm like, guys,
you can't use that.
You know?
I'm not Pete anymore.
No, no, exactly.
And they're like, you know, then it's like, where did you get your name?
I'm like, man, I like style.
I like that stuff.
But, like, you know, it is like the, just the straight name is like, that's not the promote thing.
Who gave you swaggy pee?
I was in college, man.
Always trying to, like, you know, ball out and so.
Yeah, C. Myers.
He's a good guy to know now, Boston cough, you know.
But, yeah, just always trying to outdo myself and stuff.
And they're like, man, what are you, Swaggy P?
Like, kind of a joke.
And I'm like, I like that.
I'm to stick with it, you know?
I'll stick with it.
I like that.
That's unreal.
For people who don't know, can you kind of give your back, your back,
story on, I guess growing up playing how good of a player you were at Tabor, correct?
You played preschool at Tabor?
Yeah, I went to two years at Tabor.
But even, sorry, before, like Vermont isn't known, or especially back then, wasn't known
as like a hockey hotbed kids coming out.
So, like even go back to your growing up playing.
Yeah, I mean, like I was telling Biz before, I mean, my dad's from Austria.
He's a mountaineer, you know, he climbed big mountains and stuff and big time skier.
Mom from Connecticut, lived in Florida for a majority of her life.
So there was no hockey background in our family.
My cousin was, you know, played hockey.
I'll put it that.
You know, he wasn't great or anything.
And I just fell in love with it.
And, I mean, it pissed my parents off so much because Saturdays were our ski weekend.
Oh.
And then when that started to get cut short and stuff and, you know, they were like, man, like, we don't know anything about it.
We don't know.
But if, like, that's your passion, we'll provide.
But like I said before, it's like my dad was like, just work hard.
That's it. As long as you do that, I'll take you. I'll get up in the morning, take you to the games.
But there was zero pressure from my parents because they actually, I mean, it's not that they didn't want me to,
but they were like, we can do other things if you don't play hockey, right? Go on different family vacations.
You know how the, you know, winter vacations are and stuff. We have tournaments all the time.
So it was, you know, happy to watch you play and enjoy it.
But whenever you say, like, hey, this isn't for you, no, no worries.
Were you doing the pond hockey stuff?
Oh, I love.
I mean, in Vermont, we always didn't.
And the winter, you talk about global warming or whatever.
It has gotten better the last couple winters.
But yeah, a lot of pond hockey.
Just, you know, we had a little spot in our backyard that kind of flooded and then would freeze.
And then when I was about nine, my dad started making an outdoor rink.
So he'd go out in his full expedition gear, you know, like you could be in.
like 40 minus, you know, like that.
And he's just water in the ring.
No idea what he's doing.
Bumps everywhere.
He's like, I can't figure this out.
And I'm like, ah, so it was, it was awesome.
Probably helped your hands going.
Yeah.
Bumpy ice.
Well, yeah, potentially.
Yeah.
What got you to Tabor?
Because I know Tabor's down in Cape Cod and from Vermont.
Like, how did you even hear about it?
That was there coaches scouting you to try to get you to go to prep school?
I think I reached it.
So my original plan was I wanted to leave.
Like, when I was younger, I was a pretty overweight kid.
You know, and like not did a lot of the show boat and stand in front of the net, not move.
My dad's like, this is outrageous, dude.
Like, you stand there, you bang one home and then you're massive sellies.
You know, you got the OV hot hand cellies.
Coming from a mountaineer who's used to trek in like, you know, thousands and thousands of steps.
Heresine, you know, he's like, you got to put in the work, you know, like, this is getting ridiculous.
So I was like, all right.
So then like, as I started to like get more serious, I was like, I got to get out of Vermont, right?
just to if I want to continue.
That was like the thing that we were kind of told in Vermont.
If you're still playing after your sophomore year in high school,
it's going to get harder and harder to, you know,
any of your dreams come true of playing college or whatever.
So that,
I started hearing that in the back of my head.
And I was like, okay.
So I played a couple years of high school hockey.
And it was going fine.
I was like, I got to get out of here.
The biggest problem, I think you can attest to this,
was grades, right?
We had the clearinghouse.
With my SAT score that I knew I was going to get,
I had no chance of getting in anywhere, right?
So I had to jump because it was a sliding scale with GPA versus SAT.
So if you couldn't get your GPA high, there's no chance, right?
Yeah.
Done.
Yeah.
So I was like, I need to go focus on that because I was getting some looks now and stuff,
but I was like, I mean, I remember was a Chowder Cup.
I think the Brown coach came up.
I'm like, dude, don't waste your time.
Straight up.
It's like, I got an A-70 on my SATs.
Like, that's-
What's that?
And they're like,
You get 800 for signing your name?
Oh, do you?
Yeah, so they're like, on what half?
I'm like, both.
He's like, you're right.
I appreciate your honesty.
Yeah.
You know, so that was like, okay,
I need to go focus smaller classes.
You know, they were great with, you know,
if you didn't understand an essay,
going to get extra help
and like really help you push that through.
And I was able to get to a point where I would pass the clearinghouse, not by a lot,
but that's where it was like, okay, I need to focus.
So I went there for two years.
And then I was like, okay, grades are good enough.
Then I went to the USA jail.
Obviously, with like size being a factor, is that why you started working on skill work?
Or were you always that skill?
Like, when did you get, like, so silky with your mitts?
Always like that from when I remember.
Yeah, but I mean, I think like a lot of people ask,
me to and stuff. It's just, it's just fun, right? Like, I had yellow labs growing up. I have bulldogs
now. Um, and it's just, like, fun to play with them, like that way. Stick handling around. And it's
just, it wasn't like, I didn't think I was like making myself better. It was just what I did with
my time. I didn't do video games. Like, we, not that my parents wouldn't buy me one. I just, I couldn't,
like, I was like, man, I can't do this, you know? So I was always outside playing, playing in the
street playing when the ice froze. So, um, very potentially ADHD kid. And I was just like hockey was
my calm spot. Cool. And like, were you like big on like idolizing NHLers or were you just kind of
in your own little world? I mean, we had St. Louis and Perrin at UVM when I was like eight,
nine years old. So you would go to the games and stuff? Man, I was a rink rat. Like I would be down there
eating pizza after the game. Like they're just hanging out and they're like, man, we can't get rid of this
So they kind of just took me in, right?
So you always wanted to play there.
That was your dream to play there?
So a big thing for me was because of my size, people were like,
you'd be a pretty good ECAC player, but like probably too small for hockey east.
And I'm seeing these BC guys, you know, Tony Bose, Brian Gianta.
No, man, that's like the big league, you know, compared to a Vermont ECAC school.
So I was like, I got to go, right?
Like my dream was then to like, be like, no, I can play in hockey east.
And so when Vermont ended up turning to hockey, I'm like, it's too perfect.
Because I really wanted to go to Providence, bad.
Really?
Yeah, real bad.
So Keith says, tells the story, Cushing Tabor in the New England's 6-5 win for Tabor.
No, 8-7.
8-7.
And you had, what, six points?
I think seven.
Holy shit.
And that was actually a game for you that kind of meant a lot, like looking back, like,
holy shit.
I just beat one of the best teams and I lit them up.
I mean, it was actually, like, kind of surreal because, I mean, you talk about, I mean, you,
you, I mean, you, Boomer Ewing, Billy Ryan.
I mean, that's four.
Albury, right?
Yeah.
I think I've looked at that roster and say there was 24 guys, 23 of them went like D1,
either hockey east or like Yale.
And not just like mediocre D1.
Like, we're talking like these guys who lighten it up in school.
And it was like, I mean, our coach was like, you know, after the game, he was like, if you told,
Like if you told me before the game, we were going to go to Cushing and get scored seven,
say, you know, we probably got blown out.
Yeah.
Just like it.
I mean.
Oh, that was the first round at Cushing, not semi-file?
First round, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
At Cushing.
Eight seven, they had nine shots on that.
Oh, no.
I feel bad.
It was crazy.
Long ago.
Yeah.
Keith Longo.
Tough day.
I have to say it.
As good as like that game was for us, he had a, that was probably his worst game of the season.
Yeah.
That was the, we were undefeated that year.
We were unbelievable.
Oh, no, your C was over there after that?
Yeah, you're done.
They were the favorites barrenom.
By a billion, yeah.
Like, we're talking that first line led prep school hockey by like 80 points.
In like 36 games.
I think we played 36 games.
With playoffs.
It was 32, I think, without playoffs.
We played 33.
Chris Bork had like 94 points.
Billy Ryan had like 86 points.
Boomie Wynne had like 86 points.
I had probably like 60 or 70.
It was astronomical.
Like what they were doing to teams was like insane.
And you guys upset them.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, it was one of those U.S. Russia type of thing, you know, out of a hundred times.
Yeah.
Maybe one.
What would you know?
He was named Ritter?
Yeah, it was a switchander.
Yeah.
It was.
Silly Sider?
Yeah.
Don't tell about the Hank.
I know.
He never heard that.
Yeah.
You wanted me dead.
That means he's never listened to Utah.
You say silly cider all the time.
Silly cider.
I'd never heard that either.
No.
Yeah.
Like when you catch the wrong wording.
I was called him like flop side or whatever, something like that.
But yeah.
So you went to UVM, then you were in the coast for a little bit.
Yeah, coast, Europe, coast, a little bit, a cup of coffee, American League.
Okay.
And that's what they call Vermont UVM?
UVM, the groovy UV.
And what was it like there?
I mean, it was, you know, it is one of those things where people are excited that a Vermonters on the team.
But with size, hey, maybe they brought him on the team for, you know, because he's a Vermont.
and it's good for the fans and stuff.
So in the back of my head,
it was always, yeah, they're
happy for you, but they're really waiting
to see if you fail, right?
And I had a hat trick the first game at the gut.
So that was like...
Great rank, this.
Great rank.
Is it?
Oh, the awesome.
The Vermont ring?
Is it like a cabin?
I can see it look at like the old wood.
Is it nice?
Yeah, it's insane.
Kind of like they went and did one at Maine.
It's got a bit.
Okay.
So the only...
The only difference with Maine is the fans that are over you is pretty cool.
I think you guys were talking about on the pod.
They're trying to hit crossbars to the fan area out there because they had no netting
when we were in school on the second.
They're right on your on the ice.
Oh, crazy.
It was, I mean, I would say besides Maine, the best just college hockey atmosphere when
the gut is rocking, it's pretty special.
Why do they call it the gut?
Gunterson Fieldhouse.
Okay.
Yeah.
And I don't know where the name.
Such a sick name.
The guy.
You know?
So it was, I mean, every game that I was there in the four years, we sold out every game.
So it was just super cool.
And each year we kind of got better and better and better and ended up losing a BU in the semis, my senior year.
So you got to the garden for your senior year in the hockey playoffs?
No, we got to the garden.
My junior year lost to BC in the finals.
We made it to the Frozen Four.
My senior year.
I didn't know that.
That's the last trip for them, right?
I'm assuming to the Frozen Fort.
Last trip.
Wow.
It was super cool, though, is when St. Louis and Perrin were there,
they played, I want to say lakes.
No, C.C.
And it was in Cincinnati.
The ice melted.
The ice melted.
But it was a hand-pass goal that C.C. scored on.
And that rule implemented the video replay in college hockey.
And we scored against Air Force.
The puck went through the net.
So there was a stoppage of like 15 minutes in double overtime that then they counted it a goal because of the video replay that sent us to the Frozen Four.
So it was kind of like a full circle.
And I mean like we got out of that like when I was, I must have been in third grade or something.
And that was like, Vermont's big moment.
So we were taking out of school to watch the game and the ice is melting and it's like what's going on?
Yeah.
You was playing Michigan.
It was delayed like hours in the second game.
I think the peg guy drilled into the glycol too
And they were like at no business
Should this be like actually allowed to play
Postpone it and they're like they rolled with it
And it was like I guess it was slushed
So oh so he hit something in a fucking
And there was green stuff all over the ice
Yeah and they and they still played
Yeah and then they lost an overtime to a controversial
Controversial goal
What's the story with St. Louis and what was the guy's name?
Paird.
Apparently it wasn't he?
supposed to be a Marty was going to go to
BU and they didn't want
that parent guy? I don't know that story but they were
I mean but they had Tim Thomas too
Marty was like all right I'm out of here and I'll go to
UVA with my buddy. UVM
that's how we I'm sorry that's how we ended up
there yeah how did that
Frozen 4 semi final goal like I
for us yeah I'm not
it was up and down I mean BU had I mean if you look at that
squad as well I think they had like nine guys playing
Is it BC or BU?
In the
Frozen floor of BU
Oh, okay, okay.
Yeah, in our junior year, in the finals, it was BC.
Oh, okay.
We got, that was ugly.
Trowns.
Well, that was, it was actually funny because the game before us went to triple O.T.
So they started our game at 11 p.m. against BU.
So we beat BU.
You're playing the next night, too.
So you're, you're playing the next night at four.
Oh, my God.
You're fucking kidding.
And we got shell shocked.
I remember it was like three nothing.
and then we didn't, I mean, it wasn't even close.
It was, yeah.
It was a really exciting time for Vermont,
but we had no chance to win that game.
So you go over and play,
I'm really interested in where your life's at now.
When you were done playing pro hockey
and you'd been all over the place,
did you have any clue what you were going to do?
No, I mean, it was something where the biggest thing,
you know, at that time was like,
how do we make a Rob Geardax family?
factory. No shit. Yeah. So I have a huge love for skateboarding. Um, that's where a lot of the
roller street, weird style of like videos come from. Like I just love skateboarding watching terrible
at it. Um, tried when I was younger. Just didn't, maybe didn't have the... You were too far.
Yeah, yeah. Potentially too chubby. You know, I wasn't popping enough on the Ollie or whatever. But yeah,
it, uh, didn't work out there. So, um, you know, it was always something like, you know,
how hard it is when you guys play for so long and you're in that locker room atmosphere
of like trying to think about like a nine to five or something after.
It's like,
I mean,
just the way I am and my personality,
it's like,
I wouldn't last.
Yeah,
I need to find something that I'm in charge.
It's like,
so there was tons of different ideas.
Is that like having a storage unit that we have like an office in that we all
chill and just collect money or like a cafe,
you know,
I don't know.
It was crazy.
It was like,
I didn't know,
because when I was still playing,
in the coast and come home in the summer, I was doing landscaping.
And I had my own business and my other buddy, Pete, so we called it Pete and Pete and we would do anything.
You know, people would be like popcorn ceiling.
They're like, can you do it?
I was like, yeah, I can do anything.
Figure it out.
YouTube it.
And then I'm popcorn ceiling removal, right?
They're like, one of the worst was someone asked us to redo the concrete around a pool.
And I was like, oh yeah, we got this.
You just stick handles?
Two years later.
No, no clue.
what we were doing. Got the jack hammer out, started jack hammering everything away, laying
concrete. It was wild. Like, no business. Um, so I, I didn't know if it was like, I love hockey so
much and it would be hard for me to continue without playing or if it's like, what's next
in hockey that could go, right? And it was kind of like, you had no Instagram yet. What year is this?
18, 19, no, so I still had a contract through 20, 2020.
My dad owned the building in Vermont
He's like, I'm about to
Have someone who wants to come and do it as a
Grocery store
I'm giving you the space
Right? Obviously you got paid the rent
But if you want to do this little hockey thing
Now is your time. I'm not waiting a year
And I was like, okay dad, I'm gonna open it
I'm gonna go play and I'll come back
He's like no he's like dude
You do not open your own business and leave it to someone else
He's like you're here
And I was like
am I retired?
Yeah.
Yeah, boom.
You're in it.
And at that point, when the rink was open,
we weren't sure if it was going to be more ice rentals or lessons.
And it was just kind of like this new niche niche of like one-on-one lessons or small group.
And it kind of just took off.
I was wondering when those really started like one-on-one.
So many kids do them now.
And I don't think it's that old.
You're probably right.
No.
You know, it's been happening forever.
But now it's so common.
Maybe not so much.
much for like the skill and puck work.
I was doing one-on-one skating
lessons when I was younger, but...
We had no skill trainer.
They were skating coaches.
There was figure skating coaches, but like everything
we did was self-taught. Or the
turkot stick handling. Like, you would go
to one or two camps in the...
And it wasn't one-on-one. No.
Absolutely not. And I think what the cool
thing about one-on-one is is like
now we're in an era of like
you know, kids are
a little bit more fragile and stuff.
And there's a whole other conversation about
that but everyone learns differently right and our goal is to get the best out of each kid and you can
really have a connection and see like how that kid ticks or like what's going to make that kid
better how to do it and you really develop this like cool type of relationship with these kids and you
know them on a personal level but you also get to push them and make them better at hockey so that's where
i fell in love with the small group in one-on-one obviously i'll do like the bigger skill sessions and it's
kind of like, you know, we got 35 kids who want to do it.
You got to go for the masses sometime, but my preference is a small group or one-on-one.
And what's that company?
There's a Rincolten.
They're all, there's one in Vermont.
What is it?
Elevato 2.
Elevato 2.
Yeah.
So that seems awesome.
Me, Jack Eichol and Scott Gomez.
Okay.
And how many.
How many more?
I call you Costco brand Gomer because you look like a little bit smaller.
The best.
You kind of move like them, like like how he's so low to the ice.
Yeah.
But going back to your second year pro.
So after you were done at Vermont,
you actually played in the ECHL in Ontario.
Yep.
Where I played.
That was the first year.
Yeah,
that was first year when they were in the coast.
And they eventually moved to the A.
But the year after that,
you went to Austria.
Yep.
Did you have a passport?
I do.
You said your father.
Okay.
So you got to go live there.
Do it pass.
Yeah.
And it was actually really cool because I got...
You weren't an import.
Well, not only that, but I got...
I still have a ton of family there.
Okay.
So we actually ended up
getting married in Austria.
And so it was cool because I got to,
I didn't really know my relatives over there.
You'd go once every two years and stuff.
And I was about 40 minutes away from them.
And it was really cool to reconnect.
And it's kind of like Vermont, but on steroids,
mountains are bigger.
Oh, yeah.
You can say grass is greener or whatnot.
But it was really cool and special for me to go back to my dad's, you know,
homeland.
Any, like, funny stories of like being overseas and maybe.
be just the way it was ran differently and like situations you found yourself in while traveling.
So this was later on in it.
This is pretty funny.
But, you know, like we're playing in Italy end up taking a half clapper to my jaw.
Right.
And I'm like, it's broken.
Right.
And so I go there and they're like, ah.
And I'm like covering like this.
And I'm like, for sure.
Like I feel like my jaw dropped.
Right.
And he's like, ah.
So I like move it like that.
He's like, oh, it's broken.
We got to go to the hospital.
Right.
So they send me alone to an Italian hospital.
While you're playing in Australia?
This is Austria.
Or while you're playing in Austria?
So it's a dual league, right?
So there's Italy, Slovakia.
I might forget another.
Australia.
Did I stay?
I fucked up Austria and Australia.
It does get some people confused biz, you know?
Let's get legit, dumb and dumb of the movie.
You tell you, mate.
Put another trip on the ball in.
No, no.
That's not the wrong.
No, but, so, man, they sent me to the hospital alone.
Playing against kangaroos.
Right?
And my phone doesn't work in Italy.
So my parents don't know what's going on.
They're watching the game on TV.
I'm gone, right?
I get there.
They're like, we can't do the surgery here.
Okay?
So I'm like, okay.
So they stitched me up.
I ended up getting like nine on the outside.
Now, dude, I'm in full hockey gear, right?
Riding in the back of the hospital,
no fault or in the back of the ambulance.
We got like an hour and a half ride to the Innsbruck hospital.
that can do the surgery, right?
So I got these two Italian guys just staring at me.
I'm in a world of pain, right?
And I'm just like having eaten, phone doesn't work, end up getting to the hospital.
And they're like, yeah, your surgery's on Wednesday.
I'm like, Saturday, man.
Right?
The only clothes I have was my gitch.
And I still have like my lower half on.
Yeah, soaking wet, starving.
And man, I was just in this.
his hospital. Someone brought me
Wi-Fi so I could at least tell my
parents like what happened and whatnot.
And then they were like,
so I have the surgery and everything like that.
Did you get it on the Wednesday or did
you get you in sooner? No, they didn't.
There was no rush. It was Wednesday.
He was hanging out. It was the same guys
who did the rink for the
Olympic. Just chilling, right? Like, just
hanging out. Like, I got a roommate.
It doesn't speak a lick of English, right? I'm trying
to chop it up in German, but my jaw is
dropping. So it's just misery.
No pain killers there besides Tylenol.
Right?
So you're just sucking it up.
And they do the surgery and it was like, I think it was Friday.
And I was like, what's the deal here?
And they're like, well, you can go home.
Dude, I rode the train back two hours to my hometown where I was staying flip-flops and my nightgown from the hospital.
Like blood everywhere still, right?
They didn't give me a fresh one.
The eyes I was getting on this train was out.
was outrageous.
Like a fucking Newark City subway.
I went home, changed.
And when I got to the rink, they were like,
how'd you get here?
I was like, man, I took the train home.
Like no one came and picked me up.
Oh, my gosh.
So it's just a little bit of a different scenario there, you know?
Holy shit.
That was all in your first year in Austria.
No, this was my fifth year.
My first year, I ended up getting hit so hard on the PK.
I broke my sternum down the middle, right?
Yeah.
He's got surgery next week.
No, no, no, no, no surgery.
And so that was painful, but I said, man, I think something's wrong.
So the next day we were going to Octoberfest, I was like, I can't miss this.
No, that's like a lifetime, right?
Yeah.
So I don't go to the hospital.
I'm like, I can't move.
We go to Octoberfest, come back the next day.
I'm laying in bed.
I'm like, man, I can't even get out.
I was like, someone's got to come pick me up.
So they pick me up and they're like, oh, I think we see why you're in pain.
like your sternums crack down the center.
We're gonna give you a cortisone shot.
I'm like, no, we're not.
We're not doing a cortisone shot.
Like, we're just gonna let see what happens here.
So I was out for like six weeks, seven weeks, something like that.
Fuck, dude.
Just grinding.
It was funny because like in the, like in the, like in the,
that was after Denmark.
That was like in this league.
That was before Denmark.
Okay, because it says you were in Austria League for that 2010, 2011.
Yeah.
And then you were, you went back to North America.
played in Trenton, Wheeling, Hamilton, the HL for a game.
Yeah.
Back to Wheeling.
And then Esberg, EFB, East Hockey.
Yeah.
Denmark.
Denmark.
Took the train to the completely wrong city when I went there.
Oh, yeah.
Because they're pretty close, right?
Like those cities.
So I end up like two hours away from where.
Or so do they rank?
The wrong team.
Yeah, yeah, no team.
No one there to pick you up.
Phone doesn't work.
You know, when you get in Europe.
It's not like the iPhones and stuff now, like where you can just switch the Sims and stuff.
Your last three years you were in the same place.
Yeah.
It was in what the Alps?
Yeah.
Like what league was that?
Alps hockey league.
So it was like, that was a league between so the Italian first league folded, right?
Because, you know, probably some shady money stuff or whatever.
So there was like three or four Austrian teams that joined the Albs hockey league.
What's that?
Come back as a medical bill.
You guys stayed in a hospital for two wheels.
Right?
Well, the funny thing was that the team asked me if I wanted to pay for my medical.
And I was like, they're like, because you got a special surgery.
I was like, that's what?
Yeah, definitely.
No, I'm not paying for that.
But yeah, I was, I was in a beautiful ski town.
I mean, it's like the, I'd say like the Aspen of Austria.
It was gorgeous.
Oh, wow.
So we, you know, any bluebird day could go up and ski and stuff.
It was, it was super cool.
Was there like a moment since you've started doing what you're doing now that to you was like,
holy shit like this is this is something i can do the rest of my life like this i've kind of made it
in a sense of content creation skill coach whatever it may be where you were like this thank god
this worked out the way yeah like collaboration like what's been the pinnacle i i think just you know
like um seeing how excited you can make kids into hockey or seeing a non hockey fan be like oh this
is actually like pretty cool like i don't i don't think it's something where it's like a like a oh wow
moment, but it's more of like, man, like you can positively impact kids and get people to have
eyes on hockey and how powerful.
I mean, is exactly what you guys are doing, you know, like it's taking hockey and then, you know,
sharing your guys' lives in a more relatable point to other parents or stuff.
And like, I mean, I'm like, I normally rod dog it in the car, just nothing, you know.
It is.
I'm a raw daughter.
Yeah, I'm a, but man, I got to put your pass, uh, your, your, your, your,
podcast on.
Like, you guys crack me up and I'm like sitting in the car laughing to myself and then like
sending Keith a text knowing I'm not getting a response for a month.
You know, but it's like, but it's, it's, it's that to me is like, even though I didn't play
in the NHL to potentially have impact on kids and make them enjoy hockey, that's, that's
the real goal.
When you say now, yeah, so you have two young kids, you have a third on the way.
Yeah.
And you're gone 15.
to 20 nights a month.
Yeah.
Is that always skill training one-on-one groups
or is it also Bauer shoots?
It's just everything.
Like yesterday we did a fountain blue shoot
where I ripped through the casino.
So like yesterday.
Oh yeah, it's nasty.
You were in Vegas yesterday?
I red-eyed this morning.
This guy was like, hey, you want to come on the pot?
I mean, like, you know, I know I didn't play in the NHL.
So like, it's a big deal, you know?
Like, I appreciate you guys having me.
It's super fun.
You're a big.
It's awesome.
You know?
And so he was.
like that so my wife's like when are you coming home i'm like man i'm fine awesome i got to get on the
podcast you know and uh so i red-eyed uh last night so we did the shoot yesterday at three a m in
Vegas then we went to valley of fire did a bower shoot then i ran a team practice then i got on
the flight couldn't tell you who sat next to me i was out before they boarded uh landed here at
eight didn't have a rental car got one came over to seaport put the wheels on
fucking he's swaggy
fucking swaggy
baby
gotta go
busy busy
gotta go
speaking of like
I've seen the crazy
like you
roll blading down
the strip in Vegas
or skating on these pawns
like what's have you
a ever almost gotten arrested
but like
I did get almost arrested in Vegas
yeah
okay and then
like on the pawns
any sketchy situations
because I feel like sometimes
I'm like oh shit
like he's flying
but you don't know
what you're getting into
if it's like
fall through
you meet? Yeah. I sent you that message last year because we were talking about it.
It hasn't looked at it. Put me on straight. I actually asked him on Instagram if you got a new number.
I was like, did you? Yeah, I was like, dude, are you just dogging me or like, did you get a new number?
I would call this guy and they would go right to voice you. I didn't know. I was like, oh. Block my number.
Yes. So if ever go straight to voicemail, I always try one more time because sometimes they got that.
Might be off. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Not him. Mine's off.
It's not an answer. Actually, last, what was it? Last. Last.
Super Bowl Sunday, I was like, man, it's gorgeous out there.
Kind of Bluebird Day.
Didn't have a filmer, right?
And I was like, I'm going to scout for tomorrow, right?
So my wife's like, where are you going?
I'm like, I'm going to go pick up some crispy creams, right?
She's like, it's four degrees outside.
It's beautiful.
You're going to the lake.
And I was like, I'm just going to check it out for tomorrow when we have a video guy, right?
So I go out there, I mean, we're talking crystal clear ice where you can see through,
kind of like you see some of those places in like the west part, like maybe Utah or something like that.
So it's gorgeous.
And we're probably about four or five inches ice, which is plenty safe.
And I'm out like in a pretty, it's called Shelburne Farms.
If you guys ever go to Vermont, it's gorgeous.
But I'm out there, right?
Like it's very desolate in the winter.
It's more of a summertime thing.
So, I mean, I'm probably two miles.
off the main grid,
park the car, and I'm getting
POV, right? Just a little
different angles or whatever, and I'm like,
okay, I'm good, I'm just going to check out some
my areas. Shut the GoPro off
and I take like two
steps and I'm in. And I'm probably
like 200, 300 meters off the shore.
Oh, fuck. And I'm like,
okay, like always said
it's going to be shock, deep breath.
So I push right out
and I'm like, whoa, I'm out. Like normally
it said you could struggle, right?
We're talking as 4 degrees Fahrenheit, right? Canadian.
You know what I mean?
So it's cold.
You know, I get out and everything's ice instantly.
Yeah.
And I'm like, okay, like, do I have hypothermia?
Like, it was very quick.
I was in and out.
A couple deep breaths.
I'm like, I'm good, right?
So I went to the car, regained myself.
And then I was like, I kind of want to see what happened where I fell in.
So I went back out.
And I'm just kind of.
Jump back in.
No, no.
I put it like a new.
jacket on, right? But I always wear waterproof
pants, like wind pants and wind jacket. So if you do go in
like it doesn't saturate your pants and like become stuck to you and
freeze. Um, but the thing was I was supposed to go to the store. And I was like,
man, my skates are frozen on because of how cold it was. So I tried putting it
like in the car on the heater, but it wouldn't unthaw. So I'm driving the car. I'm in
the grocery store with my skates on picking up, well, it was Super Bowl Sunday,
right? So we needed the stuff.
This guy's addicted to content.
I'll get the roasted chicken.
Cereal.
He's cutting up the steak with his frozen skate.
Dang him bagels down the aisle.
Yeah.
One time in Reeses into people's mall.
He's got the butter.
Yeah.
So I walked around the grocery store.
I had no skate guard.
So it's a raw blade on the just, just, yeah, cring.
I would fucking love to see their surveillance.
Johnny stopping shops.
It was like, what is going on here?
Route 7 deli in Vermont.
And then the guy, I get to the counter, I'm like, dude, you got a knife?
He's kind of like, what?
I was like, you have two of them on your feet.
And I ended up cutting my, uh, cutting my laces right there.
And I kept one lace just to like, you know, in my head, like, remember, like, maybe travel with, you know, someone on the open ice.
Jesus.
Yeah.
But it was actually, like, so I cut my elbow up when I fell in.
I had a big bruise from, like, hitting the ice when I, like, came in because I broke through it.
Um, but.
but it was just like that it is how deep was that water you think i was probably 30 40 feet of water
hole yeah i was deep i was 300 yards out um would you recommend like let's say a guy is not
going to get to the nchal and he's going to play in the lower levels like yeah each echel or
europe which one would you recommend going to or trying or did you kind of enjoy both experiences
yeah both i think it is important like i mean when you go to europe like yes it is
to run differently or whatever, but it is a pretty easy life.
Like, I think it's good, like, for the people to be in the coast.
Like, it's a grind, you know, like 13, 14 hour bus rides.
Bus catches on fire.
It don't matter.
Like, how many times does your bus break down?
I mean, we waited 21 hours on the side of the road and we went 58 miles.
Yeah, we probably had the same bus.
Was it that sleeper bus?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, the thing, we caught fire 30 minutes into a 13-hour drive to Chicago.
pulled us off. I mean, the fumes are everywhere.
Oh, yeah. Like, roll on. No AC or sorry, no heat.
Freezing.
They just go up next to the fire in the back of the bus.
So is it the one that had like the seats at the front part?
And then once you got halfway, you got a bunk to the back.
Yeah. And as a rookie and stuff or, you know, because I only played one season,
I'm like super small. So I don't mind like, you know, I'll, if we were all on a flight and
you're like, who's taking middle? I'm like, dude, I'll go.
Sure. Like, I could sleep anywhere.
But it was just like these, I mean, no AC for, or no heat for 13 hours.
Like they're like, put a jacket on.
Yeah.
And you're like, come on.
You know, feet are absolutely ice bricks when you get out of there.
13 hours.
No heat is criminal.
I mean, it had to have been the same bus.
Then you got Billy Higgins with the thing.
We tried to get.
We were, so we were stuck for 21 hours.
They still tried to make us play that night in KZoo.
but we played the night before
so we took our laundry out
and it was a box of ice
right because it's in the trailer
behind right now they're like we'll get you new
gitch and we're like come on man yeah they
they had the sleep the sleeper
bus and then they had a trailer at the back
attached to it which they were
all the bags all the bags all the bags all the bags all the
and the dirty gitch that they
you know we were supposed to get there but
I mean it's I think that's
I don't maybe it's they're treated a little bit
better now but I think it's good to
Peace a lot
The Gargoy's
The Gargoy's
What the matter you
You didn't get
Swaggy P Instagram
Before Nick Young did
You got the 63 on there
Yeah who was first
No I believe he was
He had
He's a Swicky guy
He's got good
Good good style
So I respect that
I got it's all good
Um
360,000 followers
Oh
You're talking about the guy
Who paid for the lake
Yeah
He's a baller
Yeah
You know
Has he ever reached out
Because you guys
Have the same name
No, not. I reached out.
Maybe I'm, he's got a couple of mill, so he's probably just chilling, having fun in LA.
You know, he's doing the podcast thing now.
But, you know, I respect that.
What's, uh, what's been your pinnacle moment in, like, the second part of your career?
Like, after you hung him up, like, is there, is there a collaboration or something that you've done where, like, that was.
All-Star Games.
Yeah, I mean, any of it is really, there's been like a couple.
I mean, the first Bauer shoot I ever did, um, you know, I'm with Ricky and we're riding around
this U-Haul we put a synthetic
rink on Newport Beach, that big
area. We talked about maybe doing
Chicklets Cup there sometime or whatever.
But it was with Zegaris
just as he was breaking in the league.
And I mean, what a... After he did the Michigan?
No, no, no. This was like maybe...
I think he came after college, so he only
played a couple games that year.
Or he was just breaking in. He wasn't
doing that stuff yet. And he was like
incredibly nice and, you know,
just the scale on him. It was amazing.
even like I've kept in touch with him and just like that was a really cool moment just because it's like wow like what are we doing we're on a beach yeah you know we got the synthetic ice and that was cool the belloggio fountain shoot with the NHL where we're able to saw oh yeah that was like part of the skill competition wasn't we got to test it out to like do it for them I mean we didn't have the fans but like some of these things that like you get pulled into or whatever you're just like how is this how not only like how how my
here but how am I getting paid to be here? Like I, you know, I'd be, like I wouldn't imagine that,
you know, when I was a younger kid that this is what I would be doing. But I think, you know,
the main thing is like a lot of people are asking like, how do you make money on Instagram or how
you do that? It's like, man, it's just, it's what you love to do, right? And that's where you're
going to find growth and stuff. And it's like, you know, I'm not sitting there being like,
oh, I got to post a video. Because it's like, oh, this is fun. Like we can do this or go out. And like,
like, like I said, like, you know, as a kid, the ice was like my, there's nothing like a lake.
when you're out there and it's crystal.
That's still the same now for you as it was when you were a kid.
The love for hockey.
I think being able to pass it on to the next, you know,
the up-and-coming kids and to see some of the skill level out of these kids.
And I know there's different pieces and you can say they need the hockey IQ more kind of like
Kutrov said or whatever.
And I don't disagree with that.
But to see what these kids can do at such a young age is like it's insane.
I mean, I was not jab stepping at nine years old.
You know, like, kidding.
Is there a kid that you worked with, like, early days that has now gone on to, like...
Oh, there's a couple of kids that are just nasty.
Yeah, no, no.
McKinnon.
Yeah, it's different, you know what I mean?
Like, it is, there's different levels.
So we started in 2019, you know, so there's a bunch of kids who are in college now.
Actually, believe it or not, we're really, really pretty good at producing female hockey players out of Vermont.
Oh, great.
We have a lot more Division I female than male.
right now out of Vermont. I think there might be only three or four boys or guys, and I think
there's got to be like 12 to 15 girls. It's awesome. Last one I had was the ink. Is that your
grandfather? That's my dad. Okay, that's your dad. Still with us? Yeah, both parents still with us.
Very cool. Yeah. Just a mountain goad, eh? What's on the hand? What's on the left hand?
Yeah, I got a little bird, skull, uh, wife's name. So we got planned for the kids and everything,
the tummy, but it's just when do you have time, right?
The guy out in Vegas, Robert Foe, he's amazing, goat, great guy.
So he's very talented.
Swaggy, you're electric, buddy.
You're done, very happy for you, man.
Appreciate you.
You listen to the show.
Was there one story or something that we should have asked you about that maybe we
missed, like even crazier than you talked about the broken jaw or falling into the
pond?
Is there like a go-to that you're like, I got to tell you this one?
This is a wild one.
Yeah, yeah, I got one.
This is mind-blowing, actually.
Okay, okay, let's go.
It's actually crazy.
Like, insane crazy.
Okay.
And it's not, well, I'll just kind of get into it.
He's like Babcock's trying to sign me.
No.
So I did the shoe with Babs and he's like, give me your phone.
Bats wouldn't come near my phone.
And he started taking dick pics.
Yeah.
No, but I was in Austria.
It was the year before we started elevates.
and there was a girl there
and very nice and reached out a couple times
and kind of hung out but very flaky
and I was single at the time
and it was
just like man I'm not looking for drama
this and that I'm like it's kind of strange
you know like it's like sometimes you message
sometimes you don't but I was just like
this is like a DM slide or something
she slid in DM but then it was kind of just like got the number
we were texting but it'd be like you know
couple texts and then nothing for a week and a half and then couples or whatever um you know met up a
couple times and was like hey like you know what what's going on you know it just like is there something
i'm missing here like normally maybe you're just terrible at your phone or whatever but yeah yeah yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah was my sister yeah um but no she's like well i kind of have a boyfriend and i'm
all right i'm out you know this is this is not it or whatever so next year i go for training camp
and then the rink starts to come, right?
And I'm like, I got to go back home, right?
I got to get this rink up and going.
We're mid-construction, whatever.
So we had a goalie who came in and he had a girlfriend back home,
and he was the second goalie.
There was a first goalie who was unbelievable,
and he actually got injured in the first period playing against one of the better teams.
So the second goal he goes in, lights out.
I think they lost one-nothing, so the two periods,
he had a shutout.
So after the game, he's like, I guess,
and I think this is what happened,
he told his girlfriend,
he's going to stay in that town for the night
and get treatment because he also kind of tweaked his groin.
So then he ended up going home with this girl
who was, you know, I was in communication with the year before.
And apparently the boyfriend had saw that.
and they went home
ex-boyfriend
I guess was came over
knocked on the door and was like hey
the dad answered and was like hey
it's three in the morning why don't you go home
and he said you know you can come back and talk to my daughter tomorrow
I came back about 20 minutes later and murdered everyone
in the house
holy fuck
dude this stuff with that
Backapoli was there?
That took a fucking right turn.
So that was the girl, like,
you're saying that.
She was like, my boyfriend's like,
don't worry about him.
Like, he's innocent.
Like, he's innocent.
No, worry about him.
Yeah.
Five people.
You can look it up.
It's like the Kitsbueel massacre.
Damn.
Okay.
Uh,
what are you guys doing for dinner?
They never did find the anthrax guy.
No.
Holy shit.
Thanks for joining us, dude.
I mean, that was fucking crazy interview.
Yeah.
Wrap it up.
Swaggy Pitty.
Check him out.
RIP to the Beal Masker.
Yeah.
Thank you so much to Swaggy P.
Great guy.
Solid human being.
We appreciate him coming on.
Boys,
I just got a text from Bob Stauffer.
What are the odds that right as I was talking about Edmonton?
I don't know if he wants me reading this, but like, should I read it?
Is it involving Pink Whitney?
Well, I actually was going to bring up Pink Whitney after.
I think he's going to want 10 cases for the parade.
Bob crushes Pink Whitney.
Bob Stoffer crushes Pink Whitney.
Is that what they want for their celebration drink when they win the stay on the cup?
I already know that that's coming.
If Stoff loves Pink Whitney, you know it's a legit drink.
So shout out Pink Whitney, Pinky's up.
I hope you guys are doing well.
Sorry about not being able to do this show a couple weeks ago.
You guys called late and I was in a meeting anyhow.
A strong argument can be made that Evan Boof,
Schard has been the best D-Man in the NHL since mid-November last year.
He was minus 10 in October last year when the Oilers were flat out of the gate.
Not surprising since they had just lost, not one, but two, heartbreaking Stanley Cup
finals and played into late June both years.
He ended leading all NHLD in scoring last season and finished plus 25.
Pretty sure he's the first D-man in NHL history to have 10 points and go plus 10 in his first
four games in the modern era.
His exclusion of being named to team Canada, in my humble opinion, cost Canada a gold medal.
Armstrong, Breezebaugh, etc., all underestimated Bouchard's subtle ability to generate five-on-five via transitioning the puck.
Bouchard, like you, Ryan, is smart, and he understands that the puck does the work.
Some media focus on the negative with him.
The positive significantly outweigh the negative.
He has also added P-King to his repertoire.
He understands where to be, even as Edmonton has changed.
from a very static passive PK
to one of the most aggressive under DJ Smith.
And he gets the puck out because he has a strong stick.
With all due respect to a once amazing player,
Drew Dowdy and Colton Perrenko,
who I've done a couple events with,
Canada needed only one of those guys.
They needed Evan Bouchard.
With McCarr and Bouchard on the right side,
they would have two guys that could play 45 minutes a game
generating at even strength.
Remember, Canada played three tight games in the metal round,
taxed their team in the process,
and didn't have quick straight offense
beyond the Taves-Mcare pairing
and the residual effect of Canada losing
and the U.S. winning.
Ask fans in Winnipeg and Ottawa with American stars
and as one of the few media in Canada
have multiple one-on-ones
with Prime Minister Carney
over the last 18 months.
Trust me, Canada would have a gold medal
in a similar fashion as the White House did.
They just didn't get the opportunity to.
And Canada's chances would be far greater
if they would have just selected their best team.
Whoa. What a real.
Is that man not a legend?
Bob Stoffer loves Pink Whitney, and so do you.
So do you, you know it.
I got an idea for Pink Winnie.
I want a Bacardi Boosh jersey yesterday.
Yesterday.
By the way, did you see when he went to pressure the guy in the corner
because they have that aggressive P.K now?
The guy's looking at him.
He sprints at him, dangles him, and he passed it to Seneca for a goal.
No.
It was a giveaway.
It was a giveaway.
I got an idea for Pink Whitney.
We should make 100 bottles for whatever team wins the Stanley Cup.
Every guy gets that number bottle, whatever number they are.
So McDavid will get bottle number 97.
And then the leftover ones are auctioned off.
No, given to stuff.
Given to stop.
I think that he's like 20 times crazier than Lawless.
Like, but it.
Oh, really?
No way.
That was like.
That was the most.
might win a amazing text of all time.
Like you have to type that out.
You can't do that with your thumbs.
Yes.
Murder she wrote.
Thumbs.
They're fucking,
they're the perfect thumbs.
All right.
Before we have R.A. on for the R.A.'s world.
We've missed him since last week.
And TR.
You know, very special guys.
Terry Ryan's in the house.
Can we talk about the Edmonton Oilers?
Oh, fuck.
Because let me tell you guys.
Go ahead and preach.
Go ahead and bring a guy.
Let me tell you guys something.
They haven't won their division in close to 40 years.
That's dumb.
They won the Pacificity.
I think they're one of the longest teams in pro sports who have not won their division.
Not including teams who've never won there, I believe.
If McDavid ends up leaving and they never won their division while he was there,
they should lose their team.
They should lose their friends.
What if they won the cup, though?
That would be like a, what do you call?
Like a clause where, yes.
Yeah, I would say if McDavid wins the cup.
they haven't. I bet you Oilers fans would be shocked to hear that they haven't won their division since
I don't think they're shocked. I think they all know because what has happened is
they do not start seasons off well. No. They do not start seasons off well. They didn't have Michael.
They brought in the cock, Mike Babcock. And were we a part of the storyline when Mike Babcock got
fired before training camp started? You just wanted them in Edmonton, you piece of all. Yes, we were.
This is an inside job. Do I?
I now get so much enjoyment from watching every Mike Babcock press conference, his voice, the way he talks, the way he just, his aura.
I'll tell you right now.
It's an S&L skit.
I was wrong.
Oh, it's a straight S&L skit.
Mad TV.
It's like Pete Davidson on SNL being a hockey coach.
And I'll tell you, man, this guy can coach.
And Army show, I think he talked about on game notes, this guy's coaching during games.
Nodlock wouldn't say a word.
He'd stand there.
they made a couple runs to the finals with him.
He went to, Babs, he's in your ear all game.
He's chat with everyone.
They know what they have to do.
I said on opening night,
Evan Bouchard just won the Norris trophy.
Yes.
And people ridiculed me and laughed at me.
And what has he done since?
He's only gotten better and better and better.
I got a text from Ryan Shea saying,
I had no clue how dominant this guy was.
Six goals in four games.
He has six goals.
He might be the greatest.
player in NHL history with a lazy eye.
I don't give a fuck if he had,
I don't give a fuck if he had one eye.
He is a dominant,
incredible hockey player
who has the puck on a string
in the entire game.
I don't care if this year
he has 20 pizzas
that lead directly to goals.
Oh, no.
Because he's going to have
300 different plays.
Still better pizza than Little Caesars.
That lead directly to
Euler's scoring chances,
goals, tap-ins.
He's a wizard.
They have McDavid and Dreyson.
who look as good as they've ever looked.
I believe right now McDavid's on face for
256 points.
12 points.
I beat off to that saucer pass at Leon's through the other night.
Have you even seen the view from behind
Anaheim's neck? I think I haven't.
That's the one where I had to pull over on the way into the hotel
and release myself right, right in the highway.
It was an ugly scene, but it's Oilers hockey.
I put a blanket over me in first class.
And Paul's in.
Fourth round pick from the Vancouver Canucks for Paul Zay.
And let me tell you something.
We grabbed this guy from Pittsburgh.
And all I'm hearing, we traded Spencer Stasney.
I can't even think of his name right now.
That's how excited.
Tell me his name, Hallander.
Hollander?
All I'm hearing out of Pittsburgh is this guy is incredible.
This guy skates like the wind.
He has three points in, I believe, two games with the Penguins.
He's going to slot right into the Cox World, and he's going to have him up and down
the lineup.
He grabbed Formanton.
How'd that one go over in Canada?
I don't really care because he looks good out there.
They got them in the balls in between games.
We don't have nudge.
We don't have Heimann right now.
And we go into Anaheim.
We go down 2-0 in the first period.
Two Seneca power play goals against.
What happens?
We win 5'2.
This team is loaded.
Everyone laughs at me.
Everyone ridicules me.
You will not be laughing when we're driving in downtown
Edmonton with the Stanley Cup and Pink Whitney coming out of my fucking heat.
And I'm sitting.
I might move back to Edmonton because this team,
it's different this year.
and it starts with the cock.
And I don't care what the cock does.
I don't care how the cock treats the players
because they wanted them there.
And I'm telling you right now,
you want to see their cell phones.
This is the beginning of a run and a DVD
that I will play on repeat for the rest of time in my room.
I watch Ryan Shea out there.
What a signing.
Is he my good friend?
Yes, he is.
Is he awesome?
Did he lead the team in Ice Time against Anaheim?
Yes, he did.
Do I see that Connor Murphy's willing to throw his body on his?
Has he started great? No. Has Walman started a great
note? Eckholm looks phenomenal.
I just think that this team is so
fun to watch, so fun
to root for, to see two of the
greatest players have ever witnessed start a season
like this. We're looking at record
breaking numbers. We're looking at an
incredible spring in Edmonton and we're looking
at a Stanley Cup at the end of the
season raised in
their barn. It's going to be a home win
and the Cox's going to put that thing up
and you're going to give his middle finger to the rest
of the hockey world. And I'm going to be sitting
and I might even jerk off his middle finger while he doesn't.
Does the cock get the invite on the pod if they win it?
I don't see the cock coming on this pod.
If the cock's on this pod, that means that they went 16 and 0 in the playoffs.
That might get it done.
But even then, maybe he'll talk to me because you were the real reason he was fired from Columbus.
So I was kind of just a bystander.
Like, I don't agree with this.
He's a good guy.
And now we're lucky enough to have him.
So shout out the Oilers.
And if you guys have any questions.
You didn't show us.
You know, Devin Levi.
Well, I don't need, I think we already did on this pot.
Because you guys were over there making fun of Oilers' goal is where Levi.
And don't forget, Freddie Anderson, he wanted to stand the Cup last year.
He'll be back in December.
Right.
Okay.
So this is like, don't worry about, Jari.
A goaltending controversy.
Yeah.
Perfect.
The cock handles controversies better than others.
The cock does.
Trust me.
Trust me.
You asked if we had any questions.
Would.
Would Bush be the most talented human ever with a cross-eye?
I don't know why you're, I don't know why.
I have one ear bigger than the other.
Like, you're making, I'm not making fun of all.
I'm asking he's playing with a deficiency and he's the best at his position in the world right now.
I don't think his vision shows that maybe if you have a cross-eye, you actually see the ice better.
Because I don't know if you notice he's making breakout passes and in offensive zone play,
dishes to the back door like none of us ever could.
and Keith played for a long fucking time
and had a lot of fucking points.
Okay?
He shoots it 105 miles an hour.
It's crazy.
I don't give a flying fuck about his cross-eye,
and neither does he.
Did you see the one tweet,
one of the others fans goes,
the way that Bush is playing,
maybe the writers of Odom top 50 defense
from the Western conference.
Yeah, he gets no respect.
He gets no respect.
Dying, bro.
And he's going to get 100 points this year.
He's going to get 35 goals.
He already has none.
He wrote them down for the Norris.
Okay, thank you.
have a vote? I think I gave it away. You signed an NDA about that. No, no, what? I was allowed to vote on stuff,
and I said, I don't think I have like the knowledge. So unfortunately, I have bad news for you.
Saturday afternoon is a big time in Chickles Cup. It's the semifinals, and then the finals should be
around 4.35 p.m. They won't be in it. The Oilers are playing the San Jose Sharts at 4 Eastern on
Saturday. I will not be around. Or I'll be around. I'll be on my phone because
Celebrini's incredible. Will Smith. Injured right now. Is he going to be back?
I don't know.
I did not hear,
no,
we didn't even mention that.
I don't,
I haven't heard anything.
He's game time tonight.
So you should be back Saturday.
Okay.
It's only Thursday.
And,
and like,
I love celebrating.
I love Will Smith.
All the talent,
Stenberg.
Good luck.
Good luck against 2997.
And,
and what about number two?
And yeah.
Well,
I mean,
Bis can only talk about his eye.
And I don't care
because I talk about his shot,
his vision,
his skating.
He's a sneaky,
unbelievable skater.
I mean,
you're bringing it
up too now. I think you guys are just a little
jealous. I don't push more than anywhere. I didn't say anything. All I
wanted was a good start and to start like this
is like, I've been saying
watch what happens now. I've been saying
Leifes Edmonton Cup final
since the fucking previews
and I want a cup coming back to Canada.
I've said it would
make my heart fill so much
with warmth to see Connor McDavid
lift a Stanley Cup. He deserves one.
He's the new Ovi.
The only worry, the only
only thing I think about, because it's all about
springtime in the playoffs, is like
the Cawke has Leon and McDavid
together. They're a
better team when they're on different
lines. If they could ever get
a sick second line
center, right? They could then
keep them together. I don't know
if they had the ability to do that
or if they ever could, but
they're not done, they're not even close
to done with what their team will look like by
the time playoffs rolls. What? So trade?
Trade lies and stuff?
Yeah. Grab somebody. I don't know who.
It's on my fucking job.
They don't need a goalie.
With all that said, should we bring in...
All right, get over here.
Hello, everybody. Welcome to Arre's World here on the Fittin' Chicklets podcast.
Chicklets Cup back in Boston. Second year in a row, no brain after last year's
resounding success. Beautiful weather. Not too hot. Great to play. And good to see you.
Great to see you. Very fine up. My boy, T.
out once again in Boston. Always a pleasure.
Can't wait to party with Senior at a little while
myself. It's kind of fitting we were just talking
about Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers.
You've been buddy-buddy
with him now recently. You've been doing
commercials with them. Well,
you know, I've gotten to know him a little bit.
You guys have a law in common.
Yeah, we got a ton in common.
Well, we did both, we are both top ten
picks, you know.
Top eight, no?
I would say we both had 50 goals
in junior, but that was only me.
But hey, who's counting?
I don't think I didn't let him know that immediately.
Oh, yeah, my draftier business.
He didn't play his own great care, though.
Anyway, just by the way, you didn't ask,
but Steve Nash would be my favorite lazy eye athlete.
And he had...
How was that for vision?
That's what you're saying.
I didn't even know.
He didn't even know a shot of lazy eye.
It must be a help.
It must be an advantage.
Well, he was known, I mean, he's a good.
Canadian, and he's a great passer. He's a thinker. He's got unreal basketball IQ. I think he's the MVP two or three
times. I think he often gets passed over in the way we look at historically in basketball. I don't know
why that would be. Maybe Canadian, maybe he's not in the public eye. It's not like he wanted to be a lot.
I mean, I know he coached a little bit. But anyway, that would be, and not taking anything away. I agree with you with
Bouchard. I covered the orders Tuesdays and Thursdays on the Jason Greger show. So I watch every single game.
Did we tell the story about Ovi?
Did we mention that at the beginning of the podcast?
No, I think was it Gregor who said he interviewed Ovi's rookie year.
He had 15 minutes with him.
I think this was Greg.
Yeah, 2006, Ovi's first year in his first trip to Edmonton.
And he had three Coca-Cola in the 15 minutes.
Oh, yes, I saw that.
Saku-covo used to do that too.
That's what he would drink in between periods, at least early on.
I wouldn't know shortly after he started, but I remember that being a thing, and I never saw it before.
Um, you know, I actually brought a gift for RA and you were talking about, uh, top 10 picks.
R.A, I know how big of a, uh, a celebrini jocks in there for you are. So, uh, I got you.
Oh, no.
San Jose shark signed celebr, signed celebrini jersey.
Wow.
Look at that.
There you go, buddy.
That's for you.
Holy.
Oh, yeah.
Put it on.
Put it on.
So it's got the A for Admiral.
It doesn't have the C on there.
So I figured that you get better.
use of it than me. You fucking pawn
that thing off. You're a sick puppy.
Don't sell it for a dime bag, alright.
I love that for your head with. You get a lot more
than a dime bag. I bet you he's going to love
seeing you rocking that more than me, dude.
You're the OG of the pod, so that's
a busy gift, buddy.
I'm glad it's the teal too. I like the teal better than
the black. Yeah, I got to think.
I like their black. I think they're black's one of the top
jersey. Yeah, with the Yarsay-Sachon
admin sent that, so shout out to
them. Sorry. Yeah, and you San Jose.
This is beautiful. The Shark Tank is back, man.
That is iconic jersey and obviously Celebrini, one of the best in the world right now.
I know how big of a fan you are.
So shout out to the top 10 picks.
We got another one.
We got him back on the lineup, though.
He'd seen him out of the lineup, so hopefully back before the-
Hosser said he's a game-time decision tonight, good.
How about the G-Q shoot?
You said you wanted to talk about it.
Yeah, and he was just in Gucci.
Apparently a lot of controversy around that.
Apparently they were asking them a lot about like.
What's the show?
They're trying to sexualize him.
Yeah, the heated robbery.
And then, well, thanks for him.
And then, you know, the Sharks fans, some of them, they were little, I don't know what's the word, parisocial, like, people just got attached to things through the Internet.
And then the NHL had those weird stories that start the year, the sort of sexualized, like, short stories.
And then they cut them.
There was like, I don't think anybody really enjoyed them.
It was just a bad.
I did.
Yeah, of course, shock.
We listened to them all.
I think it was just a P.I.
I think it was just a P.I.
miscalculation.
Not the end of the world.
But they didn't even leave on Spotify.
They said, oh, it was only for the beginning of the year, but they got rid of them.
I think there was just a blowback.
So to you question, Keith, yeah, they had, I think one of the, they asked these guys,
I don't know, like, I don't even know what word is appropriate, but like hinting at some,
the relationship.
And he's like, I don't think about it.
It's just a weird question to ask.
I mean, it's just the, it's a unique thing, I think, to San Jose and those two guys.
And I know, I think people assign their own, maybe like mores and morals to guys that they, that they,
that they like and they really don't know them.
It is kind of a weird guy.
He's also him and Will Smith, too.
They're young, good-looking guys that are taking the league by storm.
So them being like, how do you work, like sexualized?
Yeah, like it's just natural.
It's also hockey.
And I mean, women love hockey players.
That's just been a fact since the beginning of time.
Yeah.
Do they love me?
No.
Do they love some other ugly hockey players?
No, but good-looking hockey players.
Yeah.
A hockey player definitely not quite a cultural lady all that.
And heads off to Lyle O'Deline.
I know, Odie would have.
No, no, I don't mean just because of that, Lyle.
Oh, the ladies loved them.
The ladies absolutely loved them.
He had all right.
Loved them in my first, my first camp, okay?
Guys, I didn't mean to jump into that.
I just felt like I'd say it.
Lyle Lottaline, my first game, it was exhibition,
but I stayed around all camp and I tried my hardest.
I didn't have a good camp, but well, good.
It wasn't anything above that.
And like I said, I was just a top ten pick.
There's a lot of pressure there.
that never really got to me,
but I could feel the heat.
And I tried my hardest all camp.
Like I said, I fought Brescher.
I got absolute, like,
Bresher started like kind of doing me a favor.
And it's like, hey, man, just come on, let's go.
But like the fight ended without the refs getting in there with Bersheer.
He took pity on me, okay?
So that was it.
And I tried my hardest, but at the end of camp,
Schachtermers said, hey, man, you've worked hard.
If you want to miss your first game in Tri-Cities,
we'll dress you in the forum.
I know you're a history nut,
and the forum's going to shut down.
So I, yeah, no shit.
And I went out and, uh, I fought Steve Leach and I scored a goal.
Recky threw it out of the corner and played with Mark Recky and Pierre Turgeon,
throws it out of the corner, hits my leg, bounce in.
Odie loved the fact that I fought and he loved the camp I had because I guess you were
out with him every night.
Well, no, he took us all out.
It was Saturdays.
That was his big thing.
Um, well, I don't know what he had going on other than that.
I just remember we were minding our peas and cues a little bit.
other guy with me, the first round pick from the year before, Brad Brown, he threw down,
like, we had, it was a hard camp for us. But anyway, my second game, oh, and I thought I looked so
good in my first game, I had tip top tailor suit, gray one, and I had snake skin boots that
I'd gotten in the Western League, and shit, oh, whatever tie and suit, or tie and a shirt,
shirt got up I had. And anyway, the second game I came in, and there was a brand new Hugo Boss
suit with the tie with the shirt and with the shoes and it was a note from odie and it just said hey
going forward you dress like a pro odie and that's awesome great move what a legend sorry to hijack
the conversation that's all we do this buddy great story i love that another cool story actually
one of our listeners he reached out on instagram and his sister's a teacher down raleigh north
california and she teaches a lot of underprivileged kids so she's doing this thing and it's called
miss cragg's nchel challenge uh she has two kids i'm sorry each
kid in her class picked out two teams and they kind of
keep track of the points all year.
She said a few teams have reached out and sent
stuff. So NHL folks, if you're listening,
it's the name on Instagram is
Miss.crague's dot NHL dot
challenge. If you guys want to... Say dot again.
That's dot dot dot dot dot.
What was it? It's MS.
dot craigs dot NHL dot challenge.
That's the handle on Instagram.
It's all right. It's all right. It's all right.
Just stay away with my celebrating jersey.
Any teams are listening,
it's very easy to find on Instagram
if you want to send some gear. It's like I said,
she's basically trying to bring a new
sport into these young kids and by doing it in a fun way.
It's not a gambling thing. It's just these kids
they would pick two teams each and whoever gets the most points
at the end of the year will win. So hopefully some teams
will hear that and maybe send some stuff out.
Gee, I know we have the breast cancer initiative.
I saw the... We talked about it.
Okay, I wasn't here for the beginning, but I did want
also in that same vein, send best wishes out
to Phillies. He does a lot of
Philly media, Jason Martyrus.
He was diagnosed with stage three,
colorecta last year. It's progressed
to stage four. And he's working
through it, right? And he's still working through it. He's doing
he's got his like Fannie Pack with the chemotherapy
bag on there. And he's been grinding
through it. There's a great piece. Kevin
Kerr has did in the athletic. So, you know,
we've talked about the cancer. I wanted to, you know, send
him best wishes and best regards. And
what he's doing is very admirable to be
that sick and still battling through and
go to work every day. So I want to give him a little tip of the
cap as well while we're talking about that.
That's awesome.
Someone who does not get a tip of the cat this week.
Stephen A. Smith, fucking asshole.
Those stuff he said about.
Oh, I got a tough one.
Lane Johnson, you know, the Philadelphia Eagle,
guy's been in the league 16 years, I believe,
a right tackle, like the toughest league in the world,
like just a brutal league.
And, you know, four games in, he decided to retire.
And Stephen A. Smith just, like, marked him on ESPN.
Like, and you can see everybody on the table just uncomfortable.
Like, like, mental health.
Mental hell.
He just sounded like a total asshole.
And everybody's like he's going to backpedal, like,
First, he tried to defend himself, like,
what a just utter word seller on his podcast later that day,
and then I think it was this morning.
He did apologize.
He must have had a million people tell him how much of an asshole he sounded like.
We talk about all the time.
I need a little timeout.
I went a little wackadoodle a few years ago, as we all know.
So just to hear him say that, like, you know,
especially knowing the league this guy's played it.
And I guess, yes, you know, family issues going on as well.
And just to hear Stephen A. Smith, like, with his platform to mock him.
Again, yeah, he backpedaled he apologized, but he sounded like a real.
asshole in the meantime. So just want to call that out. And Drake May, he's my quarterback. I love him.
I want to win a Super Bowl with him, but someone's got to sit him down and have him Google these three names, okay?
Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Gus Grissom, Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Ed White and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander Roger Chaffee.
These guys, they were burned alive in the men and this country's mission to go to the moon back in the day.
these guys were in a capsule that
it was spontaneously exploded.
These three men were killed in this,
you know, not just this country,
but this planet's pursuit to go to the moon.
And we've talked about it before the show.
I fucking hate when people say the moon land is fake.
It's so fucking ignorant.
No, it's an insult to, like, again,
these three guys who died, the people who are the Columbia,
the people in the challenger, our friend Colonel Mike Hopkins
who was up on the space station, we interviewed.
Did Drake may say something about it?
Well, they asked me that day, he made him place.
Is that even, why is he even talking about that?
He said, oh, I don't know.
And I tweet about it.
And I just can't believe how many people like, like, think it's a conspiracy.
Look, the president, JFK said, we will go to the moon.
And I believe it was 1961, spend billions of dollars, higher tens of thousands of people.
Again, those three gentlemen will kill, but literally burned alive and what?
To have Russia still be on a conspiracy?
It's just so far fetch.
Like, we have literally a space shuttle.
People live on months a year.
So why is it so crazy that we went further than that, like in 19th?
It's just highly insult and not only to the U.S. to the U.S. military.
And look, buddy, I understand the government skepticism more than anybody I was born in the Vietnam Watergate era, plus the way of the world these days.
But this is not that.
And there's a tremendous documentary call for all mankind.
And it's a summary, like a video summary of all the trips that went to the moon.
It's absolutely fascinating.
And it's just like I said, it pisses me off because it's an insults not just like, you know, what the United States accomplished, but what mankind accomplished.
and all these tens of thousands of people.
And that interview, they completely sandbacked him.
They're like, what is your favorite?
What is one conspiracy theory that you pay attention to?
And he's kind of like, I don't really pay attention to conspirator.
He's like, you got to pick one.
He's like, oh, I guess the moon.
Like, yeah, I don't know about the movie.
That's here you got to be a veteran of interviews and be like, I don't, I don't have that.
You're not going to make me answer this.
So do you think they landed on the moon?
Yeah.
You think?
Yeah, it's like I say, it's a besmirchement.
Berserchming or besmirchment of just so many tens of thousands of people
who like and the idea that they are all in this conspiracy and again
Russia was going to play along even though the whole point of the space race was to beat the Russians
the moon I don't know it just it erxmutes to nowhere flat earthers do those fucking
melt your skull too same same thing I mean same thing like one of the greatest pictures of all
time they took from the moon and you can see this beautiful little blue mobble we live on
and it's like it's flat it's your one's as dumb as the other you know right right
It's people like, Drake may use on that platform, Kyrie Irving, right?
They have millions and millions of followers.
And that's what you're flat Earth or stuff.
Well, I'm saying he said, okay, there's more flat Earthers now.
It's a round world too.
This is how we do it.
Irish World is round, not flat.
There is moon.
From a celebrating jersey to the moon landing party.
I'm just saying, it's because people like this flap their gums about it, right?
People are following them.
There's more flat earthers now than there was 200 years ago.
It's embarrassing.
And we have in our hand, we have all that knowledge.
And ironically, I did just mention J.F.
The end of the day, we got that's not a conspiracy.
I mean, you know, that went down the way people think it, the ugly way.
But like I said, it's just, it's an insult to all these big people, the time, the money, the energy spent.
And I just, it drives me nuts.
And people with a big platform.
Yeah, like, you know, he seems like a pretty good guy.
But, you know, I tell people, go look up those guys's names.
These are three guys, military guys who literally were incinerated and the quest against the moon.
And this week's recommendation of Paul, Evan.
Go fucking watch the fucking movie.
Armaged.
For all mankind.
I just said it.
No idea what you're pulling out of your pocket.
What's next thing?
JFK assassination?
What are we getting that here?
It's a rock from the moon.
Just to double check here.
Does Bush actually have a lazy eye?
Yeah.
And Steve Nash.
Oh, okay.
Mike Gardner also had a lazy eye.
Okay.
I don't know.
How'd he skate?
Really?
Dirty goals, what, 15 years in a row?
I don't want to start any conspiracies.
Hey, don't say that.
Yeah, I was just responding.
No, no, no, I hear you.
Is there anything else hockey related that you guys want to talk about?
Why don't as many guys seem to chew gum like in the NHL?
Like I circled clip up, huh?
Mouth guards.
Yeah.
And, well, yeah, because I think that you're like required to wear mouth guard now.
No.
No?
But physical sport way more so than others.
Okay.
Where, buddy, you get hit the wrong way.
All the side it's in your throat.
You're fucking getting the hymlich from Babs on the first.
The craziest thing is how guys play with shoes in their mouth.
No, that's the most insane thing.
Sitting in a rocking chair with a head buzz,
just snobbing them fucking tape to tape.
Eric Carlson.
I hadn't done one of those in ages,
made the mistake last week.
I almost went down for the count.
I think I'm allergic to those.
You were on the moon?
Because we have Terry here, though,
you have gotten a chance to know Connor a little bit.
Is there anything, like anything that surprised you about his personality
and you're doing these commercials with him and Wayne,
so that must have been a pretty fun experience.
What did he ask for?
Draft Kings.
Yeah, it's,
you know, it's a unique experience, right?
Of course.
I never thought that would happen.
Guys, honestly, I do a lot of events, most of them through Jackson events, whether that's
public speaking or go and play a weekend of hockey with kind of a fantasy camp sort of thing
that we do.
And I do quite a few.
So I was doing one in the summer last year.
And I didn't realize it was McDavid's tournament.
And it was, there was two or three charities who were.
donating to. It was in Muscoca.
And Bush was there.
Adam Henrique was there.
Ryan Getsloff, Owen Nolan,
the ex-players. It was wild.
Doug Gilmore, Wendell Clark.
He helps all those guys, Jackson events.
Jackson events, exactly. He helps all those
like old school Leafs guys. Yes, exactly.
So we'll often do events that require
10 to 20 former NHLers.
So, you know, I'm kind of on
that tour.
of sorts, if you want to say that.
We did an event last week, two of them.
In Vaughn, Princess Margaret Foundation,
cure for cancer, we raised
$3.7 million.
On the day before, we were in
raising money for the Children's Hossbridge in
Uxbridge, Ontario, which is about
45-minute drive, just north of Toronto,
and we raised $600,000 there.
So these are, and people get in bored
and they hear about it and people that have money.
I like doing them, because if you want to donate, you can.
You're not in anybody's face.
and a lot of people show up to meet their heroes.
I mean, I'm in there doing it with Joey Oseer and Wendell Clark and these guys.
And it's great work because I look up to those guys, obviously, as a hockey player.
So I was doing an event and unbeknownst to me that there were BenMGM.
We had a great time.
I get it.
If we go to some of these things, right, I pretty much, I'm there because I'm telling some stories.
And maybe they want to hear that.
Maybe there's someone from the East Coast, a Shorzie fan.
But I get why I'm there.
So I'd have some fun.
A lot of people draft me.
You know, they, exactly.
They want a few beers.
They want to answer stories.
You're exactly what somebody wants to draft when they're going on those events.
They're guys like Matthew Burnaby, Brad May.
Yeah, they can tell stories.
They're going to tell them the ones behind the scenes.
It can't be told on the mic.
And exactly.
And it's a lot of fun, right?
So the people pay a lot of money to do that.
So we go and we tour around in great places, hence,
Muscoca, one of the nicest places I've ever been.
And anyway,
close to the end of that day,
I guess they had this idea.
They always do these commercials, right?
John Hamm was in a bunch, Jamie Fox,
Gretzkin, McDavid were in one a few years ago,
and I guess, I don't want to quote them,
but I'm pretty sure that they were looking to do a new one
and very much planning on it,
and they didn't have someone to dance with Connor's sort of thing, right?
Like, I'm sure they had ideas,
but they didn't know exactly what they were.
The way I understand it is that they asked me to do it
and then they wrote it after that.
But they knew that in September, this was August,
they're doing this commercial.
So jigs and reels, and there's a lot to unpack.
Some stuff I don't really feel comfortable saying,
but it was, of course, I was overwhelmed.
All these guys are there.
And we'd had a few beers, so I thought they were putting me on.
I thought it was some kind of, I was getting punked.
But no, no, and I went over,
and I talked to Mr. McDavid and his agent Adam.
And Connor's wife, Lauren, is from,
Sudbury and so was Leon's
and I didn't know that.
I don't know that.
And so they knew all about the show
and I, we hang out.
Like we go to Sudbury, we hang.
We don't, we're not living the acting life.
We're living the hockey play and go out for
supper, meet the people in town,
you know, take out our friends.
Like we really, and I like Subbury.
I love it. I got a lot of friends there now.
Some, of course, we're mutual.
So I think that might have had something to do with it.
I don't know, but I went home and within a couple days.
They said, hey, can you be out in Edmonton?
and so-and-so a date, which wasn't far, and I just looked at my daughter, I gave her a big hug,
because I knew they were thinking about it. And, you know, it really did, I'm not going to say,
it changed the course of my life, but it was a break that, you know, you work for some things and
you see it coming, right? You go to school for four years, you get your degree, okay, now I'm going to,
I didn't see that coming. And it was overwhelming, but it was great. I got to meet, and now I, I can
call Connor a friend. I had his number, and I'm like, what do I?
I do. I was looking at the boys going, do I text them?
But I did end up texting them.
Can you imagine? Can you imagine?
Call him right now.
If he goes to the Olympics, what do I say? Hey, good try.
Like, you know what I mean?
So like, good luck for the tent.
But what I did do? No, we went out there to play a game with Shorzie.
We play, yeah.
You and Lord just stop by.
I may, I might have told him a story about the fuck tent.
I mean, what am I going to do? We're sitting right next to each other.
He's like, uh, we're going to need a new actor with me in this commercial.
Yeah, we should, we should sell these a Canadian tire together.
We did it with Conner's brother.
we had and I
I still don't know how you guys found out
about that whatever and it's been totally overblown
but whatever I take it I might even get a tattoo
while I'm here
but anyway
yeah he just
really great dude so what we did
when I went out again how am I ever
going to contact Connor McDavid
I was still kind of awestruck even after
we maybe spent the day together we did have a lot of fun
and we told a lot of stories
it really was he was so laid back
and I kind of felt for him
because every time people
interview them or approach them, they're almost nervous. Like, it's always asking for something
or a hockey quote. And then when we were there, like, you know, anybody in Edmonton who wants
Connor McDavid's autograph already has it, okay? So I'm out there and I did play in the
Western, I don't get out there as much as Connor, obviously. So some people were, but they were
coming over and I could tell, like, with me, they were much more jovial and, like, they saw,
like, I got nothing to explain anymore. 20 years ago I would have. But now they were like,
Shoresy and you know great great you made it back and you know it was kind of like
people were really easy but they looked over now they wanted to meet him more but they were
kind of looking like they were very good and then they were like so what do you think of the power
play on the Calgary Flames and he's like dude and I'm like yeah man he gets that all the time people
just it's just another world to be in right it's another world so it's impossible
to really get a read on Connor McDavid not that I'm his best friend from interviews or
anything like that because he always has to be on more so than any other player or person.
Even, I don't know if it was like it for Wayne Gretzky and I'm not putting anything against Gretzky.
I'm saying it was a different error without the social media and every single person is judging you or asking for something.
Right.
So I didn't ever ask Connor for anything even though I wanted to go, can you please sign these six jerseys that I have right here?
I really mean it.
I didn't ask him.
I asked him to sign one for a friend who had cancer.
That was it.
And then a few months later when we had the Shoresy Classic with R.A. has joined us on.
there. Before,
I called him, and his wife, Lauren, has a place
Bar Trove in a really cool place in
Eminton. So I was like, hey, you want us to go over there? The only thing I could
ever do for you is bring over some guys from Shorzie and we'll have a
great time. And Senior was there and put on a show. I got to
say, as soon as we went in, it's a small little place, really
classy, really, really enjoy it. Nice spot for some appetizers
and a drink. And
we ended up shutting down
bar. It was a lot of fun, but no, it's not like I talk to him every day.
No, that's fucking cool. What was the question? No, I just like, you go from, you know,
from everything you've been doing, like doing Shorzie and next thing you know, you're
rubbing elbows with Connor McDavid doing a commercial. So I just thought it was cool, and it's,
like, been a cool come up to see your rise. And I'm sure you got more on your plate moving
forward. So congrats on all your success. Thank you very much. And Chicklets Cup tomorrow,
baby. Hey, and let's win our first Chicklets Cup. Hey, let's do it. Let's go. How do you feel about
the team?
Well, it's pretty much the same.
I'll say a few things.
How do I feel about the team?
There's a lot to unpack.
I've always felt great about the team.
I've always felt great.
If Utah brought up Ovechkin earlier,
if he, three years before he won the Stanley Cup,
what do you think he would say?
What do you think Connor McDavid would say right now?
Do you think, well, maybe I won't go to the final this year?
No, he's going to go. Let's go.
Let's go, baby.
Wayne Gretzky, what's the famous,
other than you miss all the shots that you don't
take whatever it is.
You know, I remember him talking about
coming out and learning how to win after the islanders beat him
and they had ice pack and it was silent and they were partying and they were leaving
and he said that meant a lot to me.
I guess the point is, and we're in Boston.
And the 1914 Boston Braves,
I don't know if you guys know this story,
in July they were 15 games out and they came back to sweep the World Series.
Do we need to talk about the Red Sox?
What about in 2004 if you said, you know what?
You guys don't have a chance.
I know it's been 100 years almost
and the curse of the Bambino,
so just pack it up.
No, they said, let's fucking go is what they said.
You want to go.
Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party.
These were battles that they lost.
The attorney was out of Boston, too.
I'm saying this.
Yes, it was, and we lost,
why did you guys doing it?
We lost the Bremton Midnet Express.
The best team ever, arguably, Red Lake Lake Lake.
They're not here. No, in Canadian ball hockey history,
I know it's three on three, not five on five,
but we lost the, so they were really good.
Like they've been our nemesis for years.
When we go back and this cameras go off, we play them, and they usually win, but we have beat them.
We have beat them.
And I will finish this by saying, Boss a Massacre, Barson Tea Party, those are things.
But those were part right here, we're sitting in America.
1770 was the first one, 1773.
1776, you guys, you declared your independence, but you didn't gain it.
You gained it in 1781 when the British stopped fighting because the first fucking battle that George Washington won
in nine was the Battle of Yorktown
and he fucking won it
and we're sitting here today because of that
if he'd given up after two or three
then we wouldn't be.
So let's fucking do. Let's fucking go.
Big deal.
And if you weren't a history buff
you wouldn't have got that game that you scored
in preseason game.
Barry Chow.
Because he goes
the coach said we know your history
Bob. You're playing in the four. And it was against
Boston.
Holy fucking.
It's all never.
See, I got one last one.
We were just talking about how sure is he our buddy Jared Kese,
who has a new show coming out.
Killed the bear?
I killed the bear.
Are you part of it?
No, okay.
I wasn't sure if you're part of the cast.
What's up?
Hopefully someday.
No, it's hilarious.
George J. Pierre's in it?
Yeah.
Who's the J-Rogga?
Yeah, is that the J-Rock?
He's from Nickelback.
No, Nickleback.
No, yeah.
But J-Rock from...
Jay Rock's in there from Jonathan Torrens.
Jonathan Torrens.
Yeah.
Jay Dr.
Reddividebroke Boys.
He's from so much more.
But he's great.
Yeah.
And Jared has this little universe and who knows, man.
Yeah.
I think it's funny and who knows.
Maybe he'll write another show in three years.
I would be on it.
I don't know.
It's just fun to be part of whatever Sam Bats.
He includes you with them.
I feel now, you know, and once in a while,
I'll run into, you know, someone from Letter Kenny that we're not
in the same show, but we do feel like we're in the same universe. Jared, again, Jared Kiso
played hockey, played junior A. I know he didn't play pro, but still, it's relatively similar
the way dressing rooms work. There's a hierarchy. He knows what it's like to pick up pucks
as a 16-year-old. He gets it. So I guess that's an advantage, A, when you're doing a hockey
show, but B, when you're just doing so much, because you're a team, right? Yeah. So I'm sure
when we close the door on Shorzie, I'll hear from Jared again one way or the other, and vice versa.
Absolutely. Good stuff.
Here. What an R.A's world, man.
Holy fuck.
Got my Salabini jersey, all played up.
Chicken's Cup, ready to go.
I'm about to take senior now over to Fenway Park.
He hasn't been.
So I've been to Boston.
Well, he played in Boston boys.
It was 50 years ago, man.
He's 74 years old.
So, and still kicking.
But I love that area.
My favorite place to have a beer anywhere in the world is Fenway Park.
When I would train, I used to come down to people.
People don't know this.
I used to go to Falmouth.
with a guy named Paul Vincent. He had this.
Yeah, yeah. Paul,
Paul, Paul.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Cian fans are going to hate me now for this,
but I would come in the summer.
Yeah,
yeah, well,
I figured it's a great spot.
Cape Cod reminds me a lot of Newfoundland,
first of all.
And then,
you know,
it's short drive up to see,
and I really do love Bob.
I'm not playing you up.
It's one of my favorite cities in the world.
You do love it now with all the concerts
that they have at Fenway.
Yeah.
All summer,
there's concerts every week,
so you should come up.
A few years ago,
I had killed me.
I had taken me.
for Bill Burr down there and
the flight didn't get out. He did Fenway?
He did. A couple shows.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
That must have been incredible.
Anything else are right? No.
No, I think the wrap up.
Who you're rooting for in the Chicklets Cup?
I'm, oh, yeah, shit, I forgot. I'm coaching
the women's age, 6.7 local.
So that's my squad I'm rooting for.
I'm locked in on that. So I'll see
how things transpired. I, before then.
I mean, obviously, the Boston Strangler's local
squad will have eye on them.
But right now, I'm focused on Women's A, 6-17 locals,
and hopefully getting a title for my gals.
Hell, yeah.
Well, TR, it's great to see you.
It's going to be a fun weekend, RA.
Thanks for that, Moon Talk.
And thank you to Swaggy P.
So very excited for this weekend.
Everyone watching, thank you so much.
Everyone listening.
Thank you so much.
We'll be back to you Tuesday.
Or actually, probably Monday,
because I think we're recording Sunday together
before everyone takes off Sunday morning.
And we'll be able to kind of talk about how,
and what went down this weekend at Chickens Club,
along with all the NHL action.
Love you all.
Have a great weekend.
