Starting point is 00:00:03 Good morning and Buenos Dias. Welcome back to another episode of Cafecito and Croquette. That was brought to you by Stay Tranquilo and H&C. Today is post- Thanksgiving. How are we feeling? How are the bellies feeling? Tell us about the family drama that went on at the Thanksgiving parties. Thanksgiving clapbacks.
Starting point is 00:00:22 Yeah. Honestly, dude, it was a great time. You know, got some full tummies. Had my mom's sweet potato, the famous sweet potato. The pumpkin pie, obviously. We had turkey. There was ham. Everyone's favorite, right?
Starting point is 00:00:35 Ham, ham, ham. I feel like more people were against me than you with my ham take. Yes. But there was ham there and I had ham. So get off of me, guys. Okay, leave me alone. Leave me alone. No lechon.
Starting point is 00:00:46 No lechon. But overall, bro, good time with the family, good laughs. And no drama luckily, no drama. That's good. That's good. Yeah, no drama on my side. A lot of dominoes were played. You know, this table came on the move,
Starting point is 00:00:56 came with us to the Thanksgiving party. So it's a set prop, but it's also an active domino. More importantly, how was a turkey? Turkey was good. first time having the fried turkey. There we go. Yeah, that's why it was good. That's why it was good.
Starting point is 00:01:08 First time doing the fried turkey, definitely a significant upgrade in the turkey game compared to regular turkeys. Again, not a knock on how my previous turkeys have been made. I'm just not a turkey guy. So doing the fried turkey was interesting. Still not like saying turkey is like the item that I want to use in Thanksgiving. But it was better.
Starting point is 00:01:26 It was better. Are you already planning for your barbecue Thanksgiving next year? Thanksgiving barbecue? Yeah, I mean, listen, the problem is if I'm not hosting, then the logistics of being able to execute it are a little bit different. So we'll see. We'll see if it ever happens, but maybe one day in the future. A little brisket, butter biscuit, Thanksgiving. Yeah, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:01:47 I mean, I don't know why it's not that way. But anyways, either way, phenomenal Thanksgiving. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And today's the first official day of Christmas. Basically, after Thanksgiving, I mean, I already see people. Merry Christmas. Yeah, Merry Christmas, Antonio. you know, yeah, it's about that time that, you know, people, you know, people get to Thanksgiving
Starting point is 00:02:04 automatically, it's like, let's get the Christmas lights down. Yeah, absolutely. You know, the people that hold on strong to after Thanksgiving to start celebrating Christmas, but I mean, everyone has Christmas. A lot of people have Christmas trees up already. A lot of. Today's the day to go get it, though. Today's the day to go get it.
Starting point is 00:02:17 If you really want to be really stubborn about it and have your tree up by December 1st and really take over the entire month of December, now's the time. But congratulations to you guys that hold on strong, though. I credit you guys for the strength of world. to hold off on your Christmas decorations, but yeah, that they may know that's over through Thanksgiving. You have some leftovers, but the holiday, the Thanksgiving season is over, you can go to Christmas time.
Starting point is 00:02:39 It's Christmas time. It's Christmas time. Get the Christmas lights up. Get the Christmas tree up. Jam to some tunes. Mariah Carey. Mariah Carey, Pentatonics, the Acapella Group, you know, whatever you're interested. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:02:53 I was thinking more like jingle bells or, you know, something along the time. Dude, actually, they're pretty badass. Are they? They're Christmas stuff, like the Acapella stuff. is like, I would assume. I don't know, but I don't know
Starting point is 00:03:02 like if it's going to be what I'm going to be listening to in the car. No, no, no, no, no. I mean, bro, you'd be surprised,
Starting point is 00:03:07 bro, like, dude, they got, have you heard, have you listened to them before? I think so, maybe. They're like,
Starting point is 00:03:11 they're like the most famous Acapella group. Okay, got you. But like, dude, like, they did like, um, which one,
Starting point is 00:03:17 damn, they did, they did some good ones, bro, but they do, they have a whole Christmas album and it's like, it's like,
Starting point is 00:03:22 they have like bass in there. Like it's, it's legit. It's really good. All right. It's really good. I recommend it for sure. So then what's, what's the top five Christmas songs of all time?
Starting point is 00:03:34 Dang. I don't even know if I can give you five off the bat. Let's see. I like ones that you can kind of jam out. No, for sure. There needs. Oh, okay. That's on your top five.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Grandma got ran over by a reindeer. Let's see. That's roasting. I don't know. I feel like you got to have a healthy blend of kind of like a, you know, more upbeat Christmas song like celebrate. But then those like classic nostalgic, you know, snow falling down, fireplace burning type of vibe. There's one of the ones I like, I can't remember the song for the life of me, but Michael Buebla does it. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:04:14 And is that one chestnuts roasting on an open fire, I believe. He's got a couple of one. Let me see. Michael Bube is beginning to look like a lot like Christmas. He does that too. That one's good too. Yeah. I'm just trying to think of one of the ones I did when I was little at the Christmas show. Those Christmas little performances you did when you're a little.
Starting point is 00:04:31 I know, I know, I mean, come on, come on. Rudolph? No, oh, absolutely. Wonder Wonderland? That's a good one. That's a good one. I'll give you, I'll give you a couple of mine. I'm going to go, let's see, let's see.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Let's go number five. Let's start from five to one. I'll go five, Michael Boubley. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. I'm going to go Ariana Grande Santa Tell Me. Okay. It's a little bop. It's a nice little bop.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Ariana Grande. Prime Ariana Grande. At number four. I'm going to go White Christmas, number three, by Bing Crosby. Okay. And then number two is going to be Wham last Christmas. Last Christmas. I like that.
Starting point is 00:05:20 That's going. So that's number two. And then number one. on the list. Shouldn't be any other number one. Felice Navidad. Dude, you know what? That is a good list.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Felis Navidad. Okay. I'm going to give a unique five because I'm not going to bite off of you. Okay, okay. Oh, damn, that's a good one. I missed that one. Um,
Starting point is 00:05:45 okay, here. I got my number five. Gary for this. Okay. I'm going to, I'm going to people that are actually good singers too. How about Let It Snow by Dean Martin? Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:54 one let it snow let it snow let it snow okay then we're gonna do oh this is tough it is tough here if you want to look at some of the timeless classics in there some good ones i have you got okay you know what i like run run Rudolph by chuck berry okay that is a good one that is a good one that is a very good one it's a little funky oh and then i have to put in I'm my number three jingle bells by frank sinatra have some real music in there, you know, you know what I'm saying? I'd like have yourself a Merry Christmas by Frank Sinatra. That's a good one. And then I'm going to have Boubley, Silver Bells.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Silver Bells. I don't know if that's number two, but that's fair. You know what, dude? I'm just kind of going as you wrote. So how about you? It's kind of a mixed five. Dang. I forgot the name of the song.
Starting point is 00:06:57 I don't know. It's like a. Bada, bum bum bum bum bum, bum, bum. Isn't that the three little drummers or something drum? Yeah. Something like that. I don't know if that's what it's called. My pentatonic.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Drummer man, drummer boy. Drummer boy, little drummer boy. Eh, it's kind of, I get it. It's like the storytelling song, but it's not something that I can just put on and listen to. There's a rapper. Oh, that must be crazy. There's a sneaky one here. Which one?
Starting point is 00:07:29 Missile Toe by Justin B. I knew you were going to say some shit like that. I knew it. I knew Justin Bieber was going to make it. Oh, man. Dude, I saw it here. I'm like, dude, it's actually not a bad song. It is.
Starting point is 00:07:39 It's not. It's not. So I'm going to go with that. I'm going to end with a drummer boy by pentatonic on my number one spot. Interesting. Interesting list. It's an interesting list. But like, you know what, bro?
Starting point is 00:07:48 I'm just looking through here. I'm like, you really can't go wrong, dude. Like, you know, like any, any Christmas song just. So Mariah Carey, Mariah Carey doesn't crack any of our top fives. No. I think it's just because it's overplayed. I think it's overplayed. It's a basic.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Like, I want to give a very unique top five. Yeah. Like, maybe it's not necessarily like, I don't like, I, I never, never asked me. Like, what are your top five Christmas songs? Like, it's not something that I think about. People are asking you the wrong questions. I know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Like I said, we're not in December yet. It's been a year. So maybe it's going to start happening now. So at least now I have my five. True. I have to remember my list so I can stay consistent. I'm curious this one by Elvis Presley, Blue Christmas. I feel like I've heard that one.
Starting point is 00:08:26 And anything Elvis Presley's got to be good, right? Yeah. Let's see. This is a gag. I am a friend of the Gris. I am a friend of the Gris. This is a Rubber Rue by Trump Berry. That is a good one.
Starting point is 00:08:43 That is a bobb. That should have been number one on your list. It is, bro. Oh, this one. This is just like that nostalgia. You know what we're talking about? You know, maybe you're lining up a little cigar, pouring yourself a nice little whiskey.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Woodford reserves. And you're just there. You're laid back and we're like, oh, it's Christmas time. There's nothing more manly. The Blue Christmas and Alcassi guards of Woodford Reserve. Oh, my God, I'm going to make this happen. Elvis Presley, iconic. That was going to be the cover of our Christmas album.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Oh, Jefferset. Outcast, Woodford, I'd listen to Blue Christmas in the back. I'm so down. Celia Cruz has got Me Navidad, you know. Willie Colon's got La Moodga, Holiday Essentials, and many Latino homes. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, oh, oh, number one.
Starting point is 00:09:32 My number one, guys. I don't care. I don't get, screw the top five. Number, number, number, my number one, a burrito salonero. Oh, yeah, that is yours. That is yours.
Starting point is 00:09:43 That is yours. That is yours. That is yours. That is. That is. That's it. That's number one. I don't care anything else.
Starting point is 00:09:54 That is a good one. That's a solid replacement at number one. That's number one. I like that. I like that. So I'll get real pentatonics and I'll leave number one
Starting point is 00:10:01 in there because I do. I actually like this. other ones. That's fair. That's fair. I'll take. No, it's a bro. Like, they're good. They're good. Like, I just like, I can't like, like, I don't really listen to Christmas music like that. Like, like, no, it's only in December. Yeah. So I can't remember like, maybe randomly in July. But their stuff is really good. But they do like remakes like a bro, like a Chuck Berry. Like that's amazing music. Yeah. Like anything like even if it's not Christmas it's just like a good song and then a burrito song. And then a burrito saw it all. That's a good one.
Starting point is 00:10:28 You know my Christmas play. I was a burrito and I was going. Wait, what? You actually were dressed as a burrito? I was a little donkey. Do you have pictures of this? My mom. We need that pick. We need that pick. We need the pick of the portrait.
Starting point is 00:10:41 My mom for sure does that. I was a burrito sabanero. I don't know where it is. I don't know if maybe that picture exists, but I do remember being in burrito. Somebody has it somewhere. I mean, dude, I was like, we're talking about like 2002,
Starting point is 00:10:54 like long, long, long time ago. I mean, photos existed. No, 100%. I just don't know, like. Yeah, where? I don't know if it's just, my mom put it in the drop box. No, it's definitely not in the drop box.
Starting point is 00:11:05 It might be in the family album, though. Maybe. We'll have to find it. But it's burrito's all in all. Thank God I, I don't know why. What a top five. What a top five? I was, I was dressed up a Santa a good amount of times.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Tan Santa. A tan Santa. A Tan Santa. Santa. What's what? What? Dominican Santa. What?
Starting point is 00:11:27 Dominican Santa. What are? What are. So you were a burrito? were Santa. No, Santa. I'm trying to think, I don't think I really dressed as anything. I've dressed up as a lot.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Obviously, my parents being in education, I've dressed up as a lot of stuff. Yeah, no, no. I've been in Easter Bunny. Wow. So you've done all the holidays. I've been Santa. I've been. You've done the tooth fairy?
Starting point is 00:11:49 The Rocks version. The Rocks version. He's a hockey player with the hockey suit. Not the tooth fairy. Oh, man. No, I, no, the most iconic ones is Santa and, and, um. And a burrito. Thankfully, like, like, no one, like within, like, our close friends, like, of groups,
Starting point is 00:12:08 like, none of those kids are, like, babies yet. So, like, I don't see myself having to do it for a long time again. Like, I think we have a passion a little bit. The last time I did it was probably like 20, 21. Yeah. Because that's the next thing. Like, once you start having kids and stuff like that, then the dads start dressing up as Santa. I have little cousins, but she, uh, my cousin hasn't asked me to dress up at Santa for them yet.
Starting point is 00:12:28 So, yeah, by, maybe. I have one more left in the tank. But as a not. I've been retired as, as, as, you have the, you have the Santa costume hung up ready for that moment. Dude, I don't know where it is. I don't know where it is. But, I mean, I'm a little bit lighter than I was probably like five years ago. I was a little bit darker back then.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Like the Santa costume, you stuff a little pillows in there, you know? Like the beard. Santa, why your trap so big? Like Santa's been lifting, Papa. Tougher, tougher times. Tougher times for San Diego. Presents are getting expensive. Yeah, dude.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Yeah, I got to start working on my Santa list. We got to, we got a revisit. like the gifts we didn't appreciate 10 years ago, but the ones we do now. Yeah. We kind of touch on it. Listen, we got a whole month of December. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:13:10 we kind of touched on it last week. A bunch of Christmas stuff. We talked about like how we appreciate some underwear and socks now. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Give cards. So we'll go deep dive. I mean, we have a whole month of it.
Starting point is 00:13:19 Yeah. Well, we can talk some shopping stuff in the month of December and kind of like the chaos and like shopping behavior. Oh, and then also today is Black Friday. Today is Black Friday. Today is Black Friday. There you go. Shopping 101 day.
Starting point is 00:13:31 I kind of miss. I don't think it's as crazy as it was. No, because everybody buys everything here. Like Black Friday used to be like... You could take advantage of the deals right here on your phone without having to go anywhere. Did you ever go Black Friday? Absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Never. Never, never even wanted to, never even thought about it. I used to work in the mall during Black Friday, and that was Mayhem. Like, it gets a store like at, I think 3 a.m. And work till, like, I don't even remember, like noon. I think it's just a little crazy, like the violence people get. I never, like, I never,
Starting point is 00:14:02 witness any of that? I mean, you see the videos online. Oh, no, you see people. I mean, like, trampling over people. 10 years ago, Walmart. I think everybody, I think every year somebody has like died from one of those like stampedes that happened in front of the store. But now, I mean, now like the times have changed. Now you have Cyber Monday, like the Monday right after.
Starting point is 00:14:19 Exactly. But today is Black Friday. So, you know, if you want to get some early Christmas shopping and get some gifts now, Al-a-Lanthake. There's some good deals right now. Put some tunes in the air pod and then, you know, go shopping. Go shopping, man. Go shopping. But it definitely, I don't think we're nowhere.
Starting point is 00:14:32 We're going to see that again, the craziness of a Black Friday shopping day. Absolutely not. But it's in the textbooks for sure. It's in the textbooks. Oh, yeah. Those the stampedes and the fighting over a Barbie doll that's like limited edition. People throwing fists over like an oven. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Post Thanksgiving. I want to be chilling. I want to just be hanging out. There's some football today. Yeah. College football. Yeah, we got college football going on. There's college football today.
Starting point is 00:14:55 I don't believe there's any NFL games, but I think we have any games tomorrow for NFL? NFL? On Saturday? Yeah. No. But the canes play tomorrow. Big game for the canes. We covered a little bit about it on sports.
Starting point is 00:15:07 If you haven't seen that, check it out. Drop today as well. Go check out our recap. We talked to little Miami dolphins. We talked to little Miami hurricanes. What's going to happen to happen for us to go to the playoffs? So it's Thanksgiving and then sports. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:15:20 We talked about it. It's the best time. Yeah, it is. It's a great sports weekend. Yeah. Of the year. Well, now is like peak sports time. So this is the mecca.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Yeah, you have basketball full, full throttle. The heater killing it. the dolphins. Let's see if they have a little miracle juice left in them. You know, then you have college football playoffs. Then you have NHL in the midst of their things. And then sooner and later, we'll be back to baseball. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:45 And golf. And golf will be crazy. And golf season starts in a month. It's a great time. And it's like I said, man, it's the last month of 2025. Yeah, it is. It is. What a ride.
Starting point is 00:15:58 What a ride. It's been. Hope you guys enjoyed your Thanksgiving. Merry, Christmas for the whole month. Celebrate Christmas for the whole month. It's been earned. It's been deserved.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Listen to that Christmas music. You guys deserve to take it easy on Christmas. Absolutely. Enjoy yourselves. You're going to go skiing, have fun. You're going to stay warm. I'll be there with you because I'm not going anywhere cold this Christmas either. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:19 So you guys enjoy yourselves. Officially, Merry Christmas. Felis Navi-Nadda. Month of Christmas. And listen to it Burrito Savanero on repeat. Yeah, absolutely. Enjoy your cafetto. Enjoy your croquettas.
Starting point is 00:16:32 And we will see you. you guys next week.
