Starting point is 00:00:25 And these shares, engagement, all these things are huge to us. So please go and share this. you haven't already. Today's topic is the power of purpose. Purpose is something that is a term that I think is thrown around loosely, but has a lot of impact, right? When we think of the word purpose, we think of kind of like what is our duty, kind of what is our obligations on this planet, what was here, what we were sent to do, right? And I am a big believer in purpose because what I think purpose does is it gives us something to be motivated about. It gives us something to kind of like jump out of bed and and feel enthusiastic about our day, right? It gives us that little bit
Starting point is 00:01:07 of like edge. It gives us a little bit of drive, right? So if you're an athlete, your purpose is to compete at the highest level. If you're an entrepreneur, it's to build a successful business. If you're a parent, it's just to be the best parent and bring a great life to your kids. You know, we all have different purposes. We all have different kind of larger scale purposes. is smaller scale purposes, situational purposes, but purpose is something that kind of brings reason into our life. So where I want to go with this is kind of like, how do you find purpose? What does purpose bring to the table? So the first thing is, how do you find purpose, right? And there is no, I don't think, any secret recipe to it, but what I do believe in just kind of just something that
Starting point is 00:01:51 that has worked for me in my past is that the more we try and the more things, the more things, things we kind of put ourselves to do kind of without really knowing how to do it, why we want to do it, but just something that may be of interest, right? When I started this, when I started my podcast, I had no podcast experience. I had no business experience. I was just like, shit, I consume a lot of podcasts. Why not start a podcast? I think it would be something cool.
Starting point is 00:02:16 I think I have a cool message to spread. I love talking to people. And look at it. It's something that I generally think has been like a purpose-driven life for me. It's something that's opened up doors. It's something that's opened up opportunities. But when I went there, I never even fathom that that would be kind of something that I would be doing. You know, I just kind of went in there and I was like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:02:35 Screw it. Let's try it out and let's see what happens. So I do think that purpose is something that is not necessarily something that you're born with. Maybe, you know, hypothetically, yes, and it's something that you were always destined to have. But it's not maybe something that you always thought that you can do or something that you were going to do when you were 12 years old. You know, some people find their passions and some people find their purposes at different times. But I think one of the best ways and easiest ways to really kind of identify what it is your purpose is. Figure out what your hobbies are, figure out what it is that you like to do, things that get you excited.
Starting point is 00:03:10 Try things out, try things out, even if they don't seem to be doable, you know, just go out there and try it out. So in terms of finding your passions, finding your purpose, go out, try new things, see what works, see what you like and see what sticks. The second part of purpose is what purpose brings to the table. So doing some journaling, I thought a cool way of describing what purpose is, is that purpose leads to passion, passion needs to progress, and progress leads to results. Right. And I'll say that again. Purpose leads to passion. Passion leads to progress and progress leads to results.
Starting point is 00:03:47 So if you look at that from like a funnel standpoint, right? You find your passion, you find something that you're really enthusiastic about something you really enjoy. to do things that kind of get you excited, right? From there, you now have something that you can progress and something that you can utilize to kind of move on to the next kind of level, right? You could take it and you could do something with it. You can make it attainable. You can use it to make an impact in people's life, right? And when you use that passion, that passion kind of then leads to momentum. It leads to you kind of driving and trying to figuring out what can I do with this? What can I do to make an impact? So from there, that passion, that progress that
Starting point is 00:04:29 you're now making, you've turned it into something. It's something that people are starting to relate to. They're starting to talk about. You're seeing something tangible coming out of it. From that progress, you then now can garner results, right? Results don't just happen overnight. They don't just, from one day to the next kind of turn into something. You have to realize that these things take time, they take work, they take energy, they take trial and error, right? So when you build that kind of purpose, you build that passion, that passion has then led to progress and that progress has then led to results. Here now you've kind of built a passion project that now has generated results that's now leaving a lasting impact in people that now then is getting you excited,
Starting point is 00:05:13 it's getting other people excited, it may make you some money, who knows, but it's led you now somewhere where you are now achieving something that is something you enjoy to do while living with a life of purpose. When you live with a life of purpose, it gets you somewhere excited. It gives you something to do, something to look forward to. So passion, progress, well, purpose, passion, progress results. Those are all the things that kind of tie into what really lives a purpose driven life.
