Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up guys? Welcome to Day 4 of the 12 Days of Christmas. I hope you really enjoyed our last one. It was really deep into what gratitude is, why we should be grateful first the small moments, the big moments, the tough moments, and the beautiful moments, right? So today's topic is about what are some of the five habits that you can start your day with to be tranquil, right? For me, and again, no pro in this, but these are some of the things that work for myself.
Starting point is 00:00:27 I've recommended them to people. They've applied them in their life. they really enjoy them. So I thought why not share with you guys? Some of the things that I do every single day and sometimes I miss, but I at least make an initiative to try to do these things. And this is based off of a lot of podcasts that I've listened to, a lot of books that I've listened to for some of you that are not familiar with podcast, the Huberman Lab.
Starting point is 00:00:50 It's really scientifically based podcast. Some of the concepts that I believe in are really based off of that. And just reading a lot of books around entrepreneurs, successful, you know, spiritual individuals that I've really been able to kind of understand themselves, dealt with adversity, and what are some of the tactics that they've done to achieve that, right? So for me, step one is waking up and putting myself into sunlight, right? So if you don't have that option because you wake up early, that's fine, right? You, when you have that opportunity, the light comes out, try to start your day with sunlight.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Why? It's just something about that vitamin D. something about that sunlight, it just kind of brings you up. It gets you lifted up. I don't know the science behind it, but it's something that works. So if you wake up and it's sunny out, make sure you take up some sun, maybe open up, have your cup of coffee outside, whatever it may be, go for a little morning walk, whatever that may be. If it's dark out, you wait for that sun to come out and you do that. The second thing is meditation. I speak really high on meditation because it's been something that's been honestly a game changer for me.
Starting point is 00:01:59 It's been something that changed my whole perspective on life, to be honest. And, you know, for the people that are beginning, and I'm assuming that most people haven't started a meditation practice, I would just say just start. Don't be stuck to some sort of like, oh, dude, this is so hard, or, you know, like, I can't sit still or, like, meditation is not for me. I thought the same thing. I thought meditation was not for me.
Starting point is 00:02:28 I'm like, there's no way in how I can sit still. And you don't have to sit still for 20 minutes your first time. Just sit. Just close your eyes. Put on some nice soothing music and just close your eyes and see where your mind takes you. Because that's what it's all about. It's about looking within. It's about seeing what your thoughts are without any judgment, right?
Starting point is 00:02:48 Because what happens is we sit there, we close our eyes, put our meditation, and what do we start thinking about? We start thinking about what you got to do today. The mistake that you made yesterday, some relationship problems, financial problems, whatever may be, right? Real life stuff. Not to say that they're not relevant, but in that moment right now, when you're meditating, they are irrelevant, right? Because the only thing that matters at that time is you and your thoughts in that moment and about immersing into yourself and looking about what are the things that you're thinking about. What are some of the sensations in your body, right? If you feel that neck crick, you feel that back ache, right?
Starting point is 00:03:25 Sometimes those could be physical issues, but they could also be emotional traumas that you were holding on to, right? So this is an opportunity for you to really look within, kind of understand what's going on your mind. It's an opportunity to become aware about yourself, aware about what you're thinking of, aware of what's going on internally, right? And what comes with that awareness is going to be some growing pains. But guess what? Within those growing pains, you learn about yourself. You get clarity. you get energy.
Starting point is 00:03:56 I mean, the benefits of meditation are endless. And again, those are energy. Those are clarity. Their happiness, their joy. When you really hone into that and you get a dedicated practice, there are so many infinite possibilities that you can connect with. And it may not be for everyone, but I know it worked for myself and there's something about it
Starting point is 00:04:19 that it really just shifted kind of the narrative of how I looked at things. I looked at things in a more positive lens. I always tried to see the good when things weren't going well, right? And it was that lift when things weren't going well in my life that kind of just like, it was just me and nothing else mattered. So if you have questions about it, please reach out to me. I'm more than happy to answer that. Help kind of share some of the practices that I do to kind of meditate.
Starting point is 00:04:43 And, you know, I can work with you on that. So meditation is the second thing. Sunlight meditation. Third thing is journaling. Why journaling? Because journaling is. a form of release. We're all consumed of energy, right? Good energy, bad energy, whatever you name it, but it's all pent up. And a form of release is journaling, right? Just putting your thoughts on paper,
Starting point is 00:05:05 whether it's a business idea, a creative idea you have for work, or just you're feeling some type of way and you want to write what you're feeling, right? And you haven't been able to really express it to someone through verbal, right? We all have forms of expression. Some people dance, some people play golf, some people journal, some people meditate. But we all have to have some sort of form of release of energy. And journaling is a great way, right? And one of the things that we're going to talk about in one of the few days is how to effectively, how to do an effective journaling session. So we're not going to get too much into that. But that is something that I recommend doing. The fourth thing is doing some sort of exercise, move your body, you know, whether it's a 20-minute
Starting point is 00:05:45 walk, doing a few push-ups, doing some sit-ups, doing some yoga, doing some yoga, Just moving your body, getting your body use to what's to come, giving your body something challenging to do to start the day. I highly recommend moving your body, breaking a little bit of a sweat, even before your coffee. That for me just works better. I work out fasted in the morning. It helps me kind of get my mind sharp. It helps me kind of set the tone for the rest of the day. So highly recommend doing some sort of doesn't have to be high intensity.
Starting point is 00:06:17 For those that do it, great. but just something to move your body and kind of set the tone for the day. And the fifth and last thing is just gratitude. Going back to the last episode, write down some of the five things that you're most grateful for today right now in this moment. You know, the smallest things to the biggest things. What are things that you're grateful for that could be, right? What are the things that are here right now?
Starting point is 00:06:42 Just writing anything down that you are truly grateful for in this moment. What that does, it just, again, sets the tone for. for the day, it tells you, hey, I am in a good place. I am not in a bad place. Even though the external may not say that, but right now, here, right now, what I can control is that I'm grateful for the car that takes me to work, for the water that I'm able to drink every morning, for the beautiful day that's here today, for my health, for my family, for my friends, for my girlfriend, for my boyfriend, whatever it may be.
Starting point is 00:07:12 But there's so many reasons to be grateful. and you just sometimes need to narrow it down and just realize exactly all the amazing things that actually are in your life here right now. So take the time to be grateful. So recap, sunshine, meditate, journal, exercise, gratitude. Start your day with those things and be consistent with it. It's not about doing it for one week.
Starting point is 00:07:35 It's about doing it every single day. If you fall one day, make sure you do it the next day or later that evening, whatever it may be. But just do it. I'm telling you, it's a game changer. So thanks guys for tuning in to this one. We appreciate you. If you're new to this, make sure to listen to the podcast.
Starting point is 00:07:53 We're on Spotify, Apple, YouTube, you name it. You could find us pretty much anywhere. And if you're not new to this, please continue to share with friends, share with family, save for a later time. We thank you guys for tuning in, and we'll see you soon.
