Starting point is 00:00:00 It's not that easy to just come up with this type of concept and, you know, think about the logistics of putting something together. You might be like, hey, yeah, bag, you know, bag stink, but what type of bag can I make, right? So what's your background and how did you even get into something like this? Yeah, it's a great question. So my partner who, you know, we go back to kindergarten. We're from Chicago. It's where we met. From the Bay, though, after that.
Starting point is 00:00:21 And he's in operations and logistics supply chain for a bike manufacturer. So that's where we got the idea from the design. It was like, you know, pan your bag. have this structure that can actually fit golf clubs. We should just put the golf clubs in that same structure, create these modular dividers that go all the way down and support the heads from hitting each other. And then I come from online sales in natural food industry.
Starting point is 00:00:47 So when I'm not doing this, I'm selling superfoods on Amazon, asaey, powder, chia seeds. So I come from that sales background, retail online. And you've just known each other for 30 plus years. and we always, we have the same drive. You know, we're aligned on just like creating a business, doing as much as we can to just keep going. And we wanted to be first to market.
Starting point is 00:01:08 We thought that as more and more international people see this, there could be people that are copying it. So as long as we're first to market, then the industry knows who started it. Right. And, you know, that's kind of it. What is going on, everybody? Welcome back to another Stay Tranquilo segment.
Starting point is 00:02:47 We got Zach from Lowercase. And funny story, literally met him, what, 20 minutes ago maybe? And I'm sitting here, like, I'm like, Dan, we were talking about the pod, talking about, hey, we should do something. And I'm like, dude, wait a minute. Like, we're going to do a pod now. Why not have them on now? I appreciate it. No better time to do it.
Starting point is 00:03:04 We're here at the PGA show in Orlando. So appreciate you for being flexible and making it happen. So obviously this right here is lowercase. Yeah. So tell us a little bit about, you know, how lowercase started, where you got the name and then we can get into the whole logistics of the bag. So lower case, basically, lower, smaller than full bag, and then case after briefcase. There's a laptop pocket in here. So we're basically, you know, taking away the pain point of going from work to the driving
Starting point is 00:03:30 range and, you know, meeting the golfers halfway, either urban, rural, giving them all the accessories that they need for the modern golfer needs, you know? You know, it's got a cell phone pocket to record your swings, the laptop pocket, the clip-in system here. So basically, you transport your club safely. but then when you get to the range, you flip them upside down, you're good to go. Thanks, man. Eight pockets, students as well, right?
Starting point is 00:03:56 So whether it's school to the range or work to the range, simulators, par threes, it secures eight clubs safely. And it functions as a backpack and a bike bag. So on the backside, I'm going to flip it around. We've got a sweet pan-eer system here. So this hooks onto your bike rack, and you're good to go. Damn. Yeah. Thanks, dude.
Starting point is 00:04:17 I appreciate it. My partner and I would go back from kindergarten. Okay. And we always wanted to start a business together. We came here last year, walked the show with prototype number one. This is prototype number four. And we've just been, you know, just working hella hard last year. When you go through the prototypes, like what have been like the biggest changes that you've made?
Starting point is 00:04:37 Like has it just been like personal pain points that when you're using you're like, okay, shit, this is not how I wanted or missing something? Like how does that whole process work? We met a lot of college interns. we were here last year. Okay. And they, you know, existing golf bags are just awkward to carry around campus. Right. And so if they're going to go practice, this kind of suits their needs.
Starting point is 00:04:57 So we met an intern who kind of helped us, you know, walk through. What are all your pain points and how do we address them? I would say that we added some feet on the bottom of the bag so that it's wind resistant. Nice. We wanted the bag to stand on its own. You know, I feel like a lot of kickstands and existing bags, they're just, it can be janky at times. They'll break over a year. So we wanted there would be a lot of PE foam on the bottom, but then also rails to keep it standing.
Starting point is 00:05:23 I'd also say the clip-in system has been a pain point. So we started off with the clipping system that was different. And every time you put the bag on your backpack, it would just on your back, it would just fall out. The club would just fall out. Every shaft is different, right? So driver, putter, you name it. This new clip-in system allows all the clips to stay in there securely no matter the diameter of the shaft. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:46 And then also, when they're like this, how do you know which club you're pulling out? Right. So with this clip-in system, you're now able to flip the club and see. And then it's just easy. Take it in and out. You're good to go. That's been it, man. It's been a lot.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Thank you. I appreciate it. I mean, it's been a lot of work, a lot of dedication. But, you know, we're here and you just got to keep going. Yeah, yeah. But, like, what's your background, right? So how do, you know, it's not that easy to just come up with this type of concept and, you know, think about the logistics of putting something together. You might be like, hey, yeah, bag, you know, bag stink, but what type of bag can I make, right?
Starting point is 00:06:21 Totally. So what's your background and how did you even get into something like this? Yeah, it's a great question. So my partner who, you know, we go back to kindergarten. We're from Chicago. It's where we met. From the Bay, though, after that. And he's in operations and logistics supply chain for a bike manufacturer.
Starting point is 00:06:36 So that's where we got the idea from, the design. It was like, you know, panier bags have this structure that can actually fit golf clubs. We should just put the golf clubs in that. that same structure, create these modular dividers that go all the way down and support the heads from hitting each other. And then I come from online sales in natural food industry. So when I'm not doing this, I'm selling superfoods on Amazon, assayi powder, chia seeds. So I come from that sales background, retail online.
Starting point is 00:07:07 And you've just known each other for 30 plus years. And we always, we have the same drive. You know, we're aligned on just like creating a business, doing as much as we can to just going and we wanted to be first to market. We thought that as more and more international people see this, there could be people that are copying it. So as long as we're first to market, then the industry knows who started it. Right. And you know, that's kind of it. Is there any patents that you can put on this? Design. Design. Design patent is pending. Okay. People can certainly, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:38 mimic the concept, but we stand by this design and we want to secure that. Oh yeah. I mean it's it's one of those things like you said, but he could technically replicate it. Totally. Quality obviously comes into play with that, right? There's always going to be like these knockoff brands that come into play. Absolutely. You have to deal with that as you continue to grow and it gets out there more.
Starting point is 00:07:57 But at the end of the day, quality always will win. Totally. As long as you have that. Innovation is critical. We have to keep evolving as industries evolved. And as people, as consumers needs change. So we acknowledge that. But yeah, I mean, you know, people are making Sunday bags and keep doing that.
Starting point is 00:08:16 like props to Sunday and they've made something really popular but yeah we want to start this and pioneer you know micromobility but also integrating golf with that hell yeah so where can someone get one of these right now so we just launched our business a week ago on kickstarter oh wow yeah so we're 70% funded currently okay trying to reach 100 but check us out at at lowercase bag on instagram okay and from there you can go to our website or our kickstarter but right now kickstarter is the It's $160 to purchase one bag right now. Cheapest it'll ever be. And it's live for 30 more days.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Sick, man. Well, I'm, like, the fact that we were able to cross past and see it, I love that you're walking around the show with it on. It's a great way to market it. And I'm sure a bunch of people have stopped you along the way being like, hey, what is that? Yeah, I mean, it either clicks, man. Like, those who have this pain point, they get it immediately and it solves an issue. So that's really all we're trying to do is just solve an issue.
Starting point is 00:09:15 100% yeah oh yeah well appreciate you for jumping on brother thank you man i appreciate it thank you so much thank you so much same here be sharing this sounds good across our channel cool appreciate it great brother yeah thanks
