kind of good stuff? Oh, my goodness. How many years into marriage? It happened a couple years ago. It'll be two years ago. in December. I have, can I start with my back story? Yeah, I love it. Of course. Yeah, I love that. So my husband and I, we've known each other since kindergarten and we did not start dating until the end of our senior year. We dated for five years and we got married. I was 22. He was 23.

We had our first baby at 25. We were done having babies at 30. But along the way, I pretty much lost myself. And he started to take me for Christmas. granted and you know slowly we drifted away we just it just happens and you have kids and you give everything you have to the kids and you give everything you have to him and I just we just grew apart and as my my last child was getting ready to graduate high school I decided I need to start taking care of myself something that I haven't done my whole life really yeah and I transformed myself. I've always been into exercise, but I really started to focus on it and I started to focus on my diet and I lost 60 pounds. Isn't that a miracle? Like, look, all you have to do is like not eat so

much garbage and work out. I mean, it's not that hard. People, it's funny. It's funny. People want to know the secret and it's like, no, you really don't want to know. There isn't a secret. Yeah. Do the hard work. Yeah, it's been out there. The secret's out there, but nobody wants to fucking listen. A lot of people will be like, I'm just going to work out so I can eat whatever I want. I'm like, no, it doesn't go that way, especially now when you're older. You can't eat either, okay? And work, and you have to work out. Right.

So I just slowly started to put the time into myself, and I started to, you know, I could see the changes. And I didn't realize other people were also seeing the changes. And I want, you know, I stop every day. I have, I don't know, I have some bad habits. I drink Diap Pepsi every day. So I stop at the gas station to get a Diapapy. And I, you know, I stopped at the same place every day. It's kind of like a cheers bar.

They get to know you. You get to know them. Yeah. So I had seen this guy before that he worked there, but he was like standing in line when I went to check out. And he was engaging me at the time we were standing in line, but with just his eyes. And I'm like super extroverted. So I was like, well, hey, how are you doing? And he's like, you know, I'm great.

How are you? So we start this little chat while we're standing in line waiting to check out. He had just come off the night shift. So I was just going to work. I'm self-employed, so I don't have to punch the clock. And so as we both check out, he's like, hey, I get this new car. Come out and check it out. And it's not a new car.

It was like a $300 Volkswagen, but it was new to him. Okay. And I was like super, I thought he was super cute, right? He was way younger than me. I mean, at the time I was 51, I think. And so I go out and we're talking about his car. And he's like, I got this gas melt in the car. And I don't know.

And he's like, will you smell it for me? I'm like, you just want to look at my ass, you asshole. Like, you want me to bend in the door. Are you saying this to him? Are you just thinking this? No, no, I'm just thinking. Okay, okay, okay. Because he's kind of got balls.

I was like, you got balls too. But he's kind of got balls. He's like, he's a young guy, like making a play for an older woman, for sure. Yep. Yes, yep. And so, whatever. We, whatever. We have our little chat.

And he gets in his $300 Volkswagen. and I get in my little Buick and we head off to our places. You know, I go to work, he goes home. The next day I stop in to get my pop, and he's behind the counter. He's still working, and he should be off because, you know, night shift is over, and I check out with him, and he's complaining about how the person that was supposed to show up, for, you know, to replace him had overslept and wasn't there. It is wintertime where I'm at.

It is blustery, blizzarding out. He wasn't able to drive his $300. their Volkswagen to work because someone blocked him in. So he's complaining about how he wants to go home. He doesn't have a ride. I'm just a nice person. 100%. I'm like, if you can go right now, I will give you a ride home.

With absolutely maybe no intentions, maybe subconsciously there was some intentions. Yeah, maybe. Right. And so he looks at the manager and they both give each other like these googly eyes. And I was like, okay, whatever. I said, I'll be out in my car. If you want a ride, come out, come out, and I'll be waiting for you. So he comes out with this huge grin on his face, and he's just happy as can be, and we toodle off on our way to his place. And, you know, I pull up to his place, and I think he's just

going to say thank you and get out and, you know, go on his way and I go on my way. But however, he just continues to sit there and talk, and we just talk and talk. And, you know, now we're into it, we're still talking. And, you know, pretty soon he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, He's like, you are so easy to talk to. I'm like, I know I am. I mean, everyone tells me that. And he's like, you know, you're like so fucking hot. I just looked at him because I have not heard these words.

Yeah, this is what I'm saying. Like, guys don't understand like these little things that he's saying that might not even sound that hot. I mean, well, when he said, you're so fucking hot, that's hot. But like when he said, you're so easy to talk to for a woman that has been starved for any kind of attention from a husband like a lot of women are right you know that happens yep that kind of thing is like powerful everything it's everything it is it was everything i wanted to be seen i wanted to be heard i wanted to be noticed for how what i've changed about myself like all of that stuff yeah and

my husband was taking me for granted you know and so as we're sitting there yes as we're sitting there you know he's saying this kind of stuff to me and he says We have a connection. And I've never once. That is a freaking trigger word for me now because connection is like, oh, we, well, wow, yeah, I guess we do. You know, you pointed out something I didn't even like together, you know. And he said, this guy's got game. I got to tell you.

I want to fucking kiss this guy. I want to fuck this guy. But let's just like stop at that moment right now because it's such a pivotal moment, right? That some people are going to find themselves in. And it's crazy because you are, I'm assuming an extremely monogamous person up into this point. Your whole effing life.

Married to your, not even your high school sweetheart, your elementary school sweetheart, okay? Never straight, never thought about it. And here you are with this opportunity and you're contemplating it, which goes to show because a lot of people think, oh, once a cheater, oh, he's a cheater, or they just think cheaters are like born that way or something. Like everything in me changed. Like the confidence that he gave me that day, the sex, as I think back to it, it was, it wasn't the sex. everything that he said to me and everything that he made me feel in that moment. I know that everyone wants to make it out to just seem like all cheaters are fucking assholes. But listen to the real story. Listen to what you just said and how that guy made you feel and how it wasn't even about the sex. And I just aired an episode with the guy that was a cheater. And he was like, you know, a philandrum, a philandrum, this and that. But when you really got down, to it, he was somebody that was lacking intimacy in his life too. No different than you. You know, and he was getting his needs met that he wasn't getting at home with other people.

Same thing like with you. So it happens all the time. And you need to, people need to be, understand that so that, you know, if they don't want that to happen in their relationship, tend to that shit beforehand. But you are like given this like crazy opportunity. So so after that experience, it was like that day you realize like all that stuff like, oh my God, like I can never go back? I just, it was, I've always wanted to be a slut. I just, in high school I wanted to be a slut and all my friends were sluts, but I didn't, I wasn't cute and I didn't have the confidence and I didn't, I just, there was not a high selection. Our school was little, like, and then I started dating my husband. So, you know, I never had the opportunity to ever be a slut. So when this guy hit me up

and I was given the opportunity to, to live out something, which was, actually my fantasy, right? I took it and then I just, I've never looked back. I mean, I, I ended up a couple weeks after this guy at the gas station, I was at a, I was at a hardware store. Oh my God, the list. I can't wait for your stories. That ain't go on. We had just had a big snowstorm. there was like 16 inches of snow on the ground and he was out snowblowing the business sidewalk and I stopped over to talk to him and while we were standing outside talking because it was beautiful out that day the storm was over I saw this guy down down the way he was in his pickup and he was eating lunch it looked it appeared to me he was eating a piece of pizza or something and he was watching us and I would see him get out of his pickup and he would go over to the garbage and he'd throw but the whole time he's like looking on our way and he's like looking on our way and he's and he's watching us and I was watching us and I would see him get out of his pickup and he'd throw it but the whole time he's like looking on our way. And I'm like, do I know this guy? Like, who is this dude?

So anyway, my son's got to go back to work. I go to get in my car. He backs out a little bit before we start to depart my son and I. And I'm getting in my car and he stops behind my car. And he gets out to, like, shut his toolbox in the back of his pickup. And I just, I engaged him. I said, hey, are you a handyman? And he said, I am.

And I said, is there any way I could get your card, even though my husband's handier than any fucking guy I'll ever find. This guy. This was me having a little confidence. And I asked him for a card and he's like, he walks up to me. And now just remember, my son is out snowblowing. So he's in the vicinity. He walks up to me and he says, you are a fucking goddess.

Can I kiss you? Oh, my God. You were like reeking of I want to fucking cheat on my husband with somebody. The fair ones were like, oh, my God. Yeah, it's what you were putting out. You were putting on a veil and down to fuck. Sorry. I guess.

It's wild to me. And I just, again, was taken aback by his words, a fucking goddess. I have never looked at myself as a fucking goddess. So anyway, I said, no, you cannot kiss me. That's my son. He's like, oh, I thought that was your boyfriend. They said, he's 24. I said, do you know how old I am?

He's like, I don't fucking care how old you are. You're amazing. Like, you have the best body and you're, I just, I was like, what is happening in my world right now? So, you know, fucking met him the next day. Fucked him. This is all, you know, just a couple weeks after the gas station guy, find out that this guy is 32.

Right. So we're moving, we're moving younger now. Trending younger. And so I go fuck him. And he was a lot rougher than the first guy. And I loved it. It was like, oh, my God. And so, you know, he continues, you know, we continue for probably six weeks or something.

Like, he gets a hold of me. And actually, my parents have a place in town here, but they never use it. That kind of became my little play station play area. I started taking guys there because no one was there. And so we started meeting that place. Guys. So there's going to be more guys coming into this story. You just said I started bringing more guys back there.

I mean, I had seen guys double look, you know, when I'd be walking.

I was like, wow, maybe I am something to look at. You know, maybe there is something that I'm missing here, you know, after my transformation of 60 pounds and exercising and all of that. But my husband's not noticing me, you know? Yeah. It's so fucking confusing. And I know that he noticed me because he would say, he would say like, oh, wow, you're looking good. And it was all because we couldn't communicate that we were both unhappy. And, you know, there's just, it's such a slow decline. Like, you know, over 30 years, it just doesn't take much. It's a slow decline in the way that just a little out of time, you just start to let go of each other. And that's exactly what happened. And so anyway, we move on. he's going to come to my house and he's going to tell my husband, right? Yeah, that kind of shit is scary. I mean, you know. Yeah, because he's acting fucking crazy. Yeah. Like, this isn't just like you pissed me off. This is like I'm out of my fucking mind and I might come over and kill you. So I, at that point, I'm like, fuck, I got to go tell my husband. Like, if he comes over here, my daughter's now home from college. It's, you know, like it's, I can't, I can't do this. So I went and found my husband. And I told him, I said, I got to tell you

something and you know I started crying and I told him what happened and um he looked down what did you tell him like what was your conversation like what did you say I said I've been cheating on you and I am so sorry he looked down at the ground for a split second and he looked into my eyes and he said I will I'm I'm so sorry that I have failed you he said he said I I haven't been there for you like I should have been. And he said, and I don't blame you one bit for what you've done. And he just gave me a big hug and he said, we're going to work this out. It's all going to be okay.

Wow. But can I just go back again and say, for the first 15 years of our marriage, I walked on a, no, first 25 years of our marriage, I walked on egg shells around him, my husband, because his mood would change so fast and I never knew what was going to set him off. Okay. So I begged him and begged him to go on medication to stabilize his mood. Oh, so he's on meds now? Is that when he?

Yes. And he changed. It changed everything. Like he didn't even care that you cheated. Oh my God. I want that medication. Dude, he's like all rainbows and unicorns now. It's like, are you fucking kidding me?

Like if you would have, I begged him for probably 15 years to get on medication and he would not do it. He thought I was like, I don't know if he thought I was trying to kill him. Like, I don't know. But I was like, please. I need you. And then at some point, that was part of me letting go with him because he was so unpredictable. And it was, I just got sick of trying all the time, you know? And so when he got on medication, then he's happy. And then I'm pissed because we could have lived this whole life this way, right? Like if he would have just listened. Yeah, yeah, I got it. Yeah. Yeah. You're like, oh, fuck. If only I spoke up,

if only I would have been more honest, right? That's how it is. Right. And I totally understand that. And the thing is, is like, I did speak up and say, can we fix your emotional problem that's causing me a lot of stress? And he refused to help himself with that. And I tried and tried. And yes, I have accountability. I am not. I'm not here to say that what I've done is right. Or I did not take the right path.

None of that. But it has changed both of our worlds. And it's been a positive thing. I think it's, it's, and he even says that. Like our marriage wouldn't have won't have survived this if you hadn't done what you've done. Wow. I just got the chills. I love that.

I think that that's super interesting. And I bet you there's other people that have gone through this exact thing and would say the same thing. And I've heard it before. You know, you sort of like, you were the one that did it, but somebody had to, right? And you sort of like blew up the facade of this bullshit thing that was going on. And both of you were to blame, you know? and I love that he obviously took accountability for his part or else he wouldn't have been able to be okay with it

and say let's work on it. He wasn't like just blaming you, you're a fucking asshole, right? And same thing with you too. And so you blew it all up and you rebuilt it to be something 10 times better. Like that's amazing. That is correct.

That's amazing. And I feel like I'm, do you know what I would give to be able to call into a show where I don't have to be anonymous to tell this story and not be judged? You don't have to be anonymous. You could be unanonymous. You don't need to be anonymous.

I just offer that to people. I understand. But the thing is, is I know that there are people out there that judge other people for this. No, you know what the... I'm going to tell you those people. No, but those people aren't listening to my show, okay? Those people are reading a headline and moving on, okay?

People that actually take their time to listen to the stories, those aren't those people, okay? I know plenty of people. They're my friends or my cousins or in my family. Okay, they read a fucking headline and they make a judgment and that's all that they do. They're lazy thinkers, lazy, and... analyzers, just lazy across the board. They don't care to know the real information. The people that listen to my show are people that are like me, they're interested in knowing

all the details. They want, you know, it's, and when you hear all the details, how can you judge you? You know, I believe that life is supposed to be messy. I believe we are supposed to make mistakes. I believe, like, the most horrible times that have happened to you do lead to better things. And that is what life's supposed to be alike about. And when you have these things, it doesn't make you bad or wrong or wrong. flawed. It makes you human. And it makes, and it's, and it's an amazing thing. And if you look at

real biographies of real people, everyone goes through ups and downs. Like, that's what life is supposed to be about. All these people sitting in their glass houses, acting as if everything has to be perfect and no one makes mistakes and anyone that cheats or anything is the fucking asshole. They don't know that they're not going to wind up in a gas station one day fucking the guy there too because you would have probably never guessed that you were going to do that. Would you have ever, ever? No, never. Right. No. No. No. I would have never. And I'm not that kind of a person. I'm not a hurtful person. I'm not any, I wouldn't want to hurt. I, when I go up for walks, I avoid ants on the sidewalk. I don't want to hurt anything. But yet you cheated. Both things could exist in the same person. People can't wrap their fucking heads around that. And that's easy thinking to me. Yeah. Can I tell you what my therapist calls that? Radical acceptance. When you can have one side of your own life. it's, you know, is sad and another side is happy, and you have to choose yourself, and you have to choose to be happy. Like, that's your choice. And, and there's a name for that, radical acceptance.

Right. Knowing that there can be some bad things in your life, but there's also good, and you get to choose which path you're going to take. Right. And listen, I'm sure the day, though, that you were, like having to tell him in that moment wasn't like the good part. That was the hard part, but you chose to like sort of take from that situation and make the best of it. And sometimes that's what happens. And people can be better. I always give people credit. I get why some people leave after, like, you know, unfaithfulness and some people can't

handle it or some people will never gain back the trust and they leave. But I also, though, for people that have stayed through, right, when they found out, I give them massive credit because a lot of times it's this kind of situation. Why are you going to take a relationship that you had with that? somebody for 30 years. The father of your children or the mother of your children and all this pass that you have for one, six months of something and take away all of that and throw it in the fucking shitter for that.

Right. You know, you don't have to. And there's plenty of people like you. You're here to say that like not only did you not throw it in the shitter because of that. You guys like work through and you're better than you were before, which is amazing. And it is amazing. And my husband says it all the time.

He's like, as much as he hates Mr. BDSM, he also, thanks. I want to send him flowers. Yeah, I mean, I don't know if we go that far. But, you know, he's like, there's a reason why this all worked out the way it did. In the past that we had to take had to include him and his craziness, obviously. And it's just turning, what do you say, lemons into lemonade, right? Like it wasn't a great situation, but we decided to make it work. No, but you know what it was?

It was like, it wasn't dished out properly, but it was like the truth of your situation. You know, somebody, like I said, like you blew that shit up. Like you took this nonsense that you guys were living in, which was like a phony relationship. And both of you were happy, obviously, right? And you just blew it the fuck up and brought all the bad shit to the service. So now you could like deal with it. So, you know, at the end of the day, you look. look back and you're like, wow, that was the best thing that could have happened. And a lot of times,

really bad times, like when you reflect back, they're that same thing. It's like the best thing that could have happened. It's the period of growth. Yeah, of course. You either get to choose to grow or you choose to go back into the hole that you just came out of. And I, and we both chose to grow at that point. Yeah, I give him credit. He was, oh my God, he is amazing. He's amazing. Like, A lot of people would say, fuck you and move on and say, you fucked up and I don't want you. But he was like, no, we're going to make this work. I did not. We have spent 35 years as a couple together.

We're not giving this up. Yeah, exactly. And he also said, I understand why you did it. Yes. He understood. Yes. Yeah, I love that. So talk about a compassion, compassionate.

I mean, he was empathetic to me. Yeah, I get that. But, you know, people grow and change and people grow and change for the better. And if that other person isn't right there with you, sometimes they do get left in the dust.

That's what happens. But it's not wrong. You would have left your husband. been. But what's great is he was like, yeah, what's great is that he was, he was right there with you. Like, let's fucking change things up. Let's become better. Let's be better together. And what he said to me is he's like, I know, I know that this can't change just today. Like I can't snap my fingers and it's going to be better. But he said, I'm going to put the effort in every day. I'm going to put the effort in to make you fall in love with me again. Like this is going to be a journey and we're going to be on it together.
