interesting and she's super beautiful. I mean, I was like, oh my God, you could have been like a supermodel,
but instead she's been in the sex world for as long as she could remember. She talks about her
whole journey. She was a burlesque dancer. Then she was a news anchor at Naked News. She's currently
the creative director at Sancton, which is a very exclusive.
private members only erotic club. She puts on the events at the club. It's also a sex party. We talk a lot
about sanctum, you know, what the vibe is, how to get in, uh, what goes down. Like I said,
she puts on the shows that take place, but it's also a sex party at the same time. After we
talk about sanctum, we do get into like how she has seen sex and intimacy evolve over time because
she's been living in this world and working in this world for a long time since the dawn of
time and it has changed. The landscape has changed a lot. She gives a lot of advice for couples who are
interested in trying new things. We talk about the stigma around sex and the shame for women, as well as
the stigma around guy and guy action. And we talk about so much more. She's super interesting.
The sex party sanctum sounds super interesting. I'm going to put the link to it in the description
if you want to check it out. They have a masquerade party, a literal masquerade party every month.
so you can mask up and go there and be anonymous like on my show.
I'll put all the details in the description,
but you're going to love this conversation.
So I'm going to get right to and be right back on with Laura Desiree.
Hi, Laura Desiree.
Welcome to the strictly anonymous podcast.
How are you today?
Oh, I am marvelous.
Thank you so much for having me.
No, thanks for coming on, Laura.
You are the creative director at Sankham,
which we are going to get some information on
because I was very fascinated by Sankton when I did a little Googling.
You're going to explain it.
But you have like such a,
interesting backstory. Now, if I was just looking at you on Instagram, I'm like, oh my God,
you're like, you could have been a supermodel, but you didn't become a supermodel. I mean, you really
are. And that's not just a compliment. It's like a fact, right? Like you've got supermodel looks,
but you've been like in, I don't know what you, like the sex world or the sex work world or,
you know, that world for so long. You have a super interesting backstory. So I'd love to get
that first. Sure. I'll give you a condensed sort of
timeline of it. But supermodels and I, my goodness, I was born in the same hospital, the same
hospital as Linda Evangelista. So I like to think that I have something of a forever sort of touchstone
with that world. And it's because the two of us came from a little town called St. Catherine's,
Ontario, right outside of Niagara Falls.
Oh, crazy. You kind of look like, I mean, you really do, like I said, you really do have those
kind of looks. I can't believe you were both there at the same time. You could have been one of those
top sex. Anyway, go on. Isn't that wild? Yeah, totally. Yeah.
I started my career in New York City sort of enjoying nightlife after film school.
And I gave up those dreams of becoming a filmmaker, which eventually I found my way back to in other forms.
But I fell in love with nightlife.
I fell in love with go-go dancing.
I fell in love with burlesque.
And it was a very natural progression for me to enter, I guess, the stage.
Once again, I've always been a very performative person.
And, you know, I was happy to explore sensuality.
and my sexuality and the confidence and pride and artistry that all mixes in when you have these
art forms like burlesque dance. So I started doing that. I toured all over Europe for years.
I greatly enjoyed my time in the glittering spotlight of the burlesque realm. I was for seven and a half
years, the lead anchor and producer of a Playboy TV show called Naked News. So obviously they had
plucked me from the burlesque stage.
and they saw, this is an interesting person. Can she read a teleprompter? Yes, she can. And so I did almost a decade of reporting on all kinds of international sexual subcultures. So that was my contribution to the show, which was very much a traditional news program, except we took our clothes off. And I did a lot of our travel segments. I handled a lot of our hands-on exploring of, like I said, a lot of these underground sexual subcultures.
and movements, be it, you know, a different BDSM club or a different, a sex expert or a sex
therapist or doctor that was specializing in a very unique margin of human sexuality. And I loved
it. You know, I had a wonderful time for almost a decade traveling the world meeting these
professionals and these luminaries in the field. And from there, you know, I was still missing my
performance days, as one does. If you've ever stepped into the spotlight, you are lifelong devoted
to that feeling of the applause.
So, of course, I found out about a wonderful nightclub, a wonderful experience, a collective
called Sanctum, which I'm sure we'll have a little dedicated chat about.
Sanctom is a member's only elite experience base, let's call it.
Here in New York City, we also host in Los Angeles and Miami, where erotic theater comes
alive.
So I found my way back into the nightlife and into the showbiz sector.
I'm very happy to be the creative director after years of being both a performer and the intimacy
coordinator for this initiative of Sanctom. I am now at the helm of their creative endeavors.
And my goodness, is it an honor.
So being an intimacy coordinator, that tells me that at this erotic theater, I mean,
there's like full on sex going on some of these performances, right? And that's what you're sort
of overlooking because you were a performer before. So you probably like the best.
best person to be the intimacy coordinator.
Absolutely. I mean, it's unlike anything else. And this is the thing is that you get a lot of
people that say, yeah, I'm comfortable being naked on stage. Yeah, I'm comfortable being sexual
on stage. We have a lot of adult performers that come from the world of, you know, porn.
And they're used to being on film sets. But this is unlike anything else because we're engaging
in a very radical, intense, beautiful way. But we have an audience around us. We have an audience that,
you know, they have a very strict boundary of staying at a distance. There's no interaction whatsoever
between performers and guests, but that is something that I have to prepare our performers for.
It's unlike anything else. Yeah, no, that's super interesting. How long has Sankton been around for?
Because it's very, like, exclusive underground, right? Yeah, I mean, Sanctum's been around since 2013.
And it started in California. I mean, we've had so many big press pieces over.
over the years of, you know, this collective gaining international acclaim.
There was an HBO series.
This was with our former ownership.
And so, you know, we took over a few years ago with the current management and ownership that we have in place.
And it is a different experience than some of those early, I guess, big publicity moments staged us as.
The HBO series that has come out about sanctum and showed some of our.
parties even in Russia. I mean, we are, we're operating a little differently now. I know that we
have a different lens as far as the shows that we put on stage and the way that we navigate,
you know, bringing in our membership, vetting our membership and equipping them for the best
possible time. And that means, you know, ethical measures as well. I always want to make sure that
people that are attending our events are having the best experience possible and they come in with
different experience levels. You get some people that are brand new to exploring and expanding,
their definitions of what's arousing?
Right.
What are we as a couple?
So you have to be able to hold all levels of experience for folks entering this community.
Yeah.
So it's not just a place where you're going to go and see the like the theater that you're
putting on.
It's also a sex party, correct?
Yeah.
That's correct.
So there's, you know, a very intentional difference between those two, right?
We've got the stage shows and that happens on, you know, very allocations.
surfaces of the venue. And then there is also the open play opportunity. And so a lot of our
audience are very well versed. They're veterans of the community. You know, they've gone to play
parties for decades. These people are amazing. But there is also a lot of this infusion of younger,
beginner, sort of novice entry-level lifestyle folk. And lifestyle, what I mean is, you know,
people that might have a different definition for what monogamy or non-monogamy,
looks like to them. They're a little bit more open to play. They're a little bit more open to,
sometimes play means just being a voyeur. They're a little bit more open to what we call the sex
positivity movement. And so, yeah, we have to be encompassing of all these entry levels, of all these
levels of people in their own experience being in the lifestyle. Is it a, like how many people do
they have at a typical party? Is it like hundreds of people? Is it small? Is it thousands of people?
We have different versions. Like there's our smaller petite sullets, which are usually capped at about 70 people.
Oh, interesting.
But our larger, yeah, our masquerade, which happens monthly, that can go up to, you know, 150 to 175, 200 people.
Right.
And that is, you know, a much larger scale event. It comes with a different energy. It's a wonderful and wild time because we've had so many different venues over the year is that sometimes the space can, you know,
feel very exciting and boisterous, like a big group of people that are all in one room together.
But we've also really enjoyed having venues that offer a lot of different private spaces throughout.
So right now, the home that we have here in New York is just perfect for some of those little
hidden away, all coves and smaller collecting rooms.
It's spectacular, truly.
And the masquerade, the once-month masquerade, so everyone's masked up or you can be masked up or not?
because I think that adds a whole different level of something interesting that they don't
typically have at a regular sex party.
Oh my God.
You mean it's like a strictly anonymous sex party?
Yes.
Yeah.
I mean,
I think it just allows for certain things that in other places does it.
You know what I mean?
Like there's,
I think there's a big difference if people know they could go masked up, right?
Absolutely.
I mean,
it's something that takes a lot of the pressure off of, you know, owning up to, you know,
sharing names and identities.
You don't have to do that.
The thing is, is when you enter the world of sanctum, you're entirely free to be and present as you wish, right?
Obviously, within our guidelines and our code of conduct.
I mean, consent is everything. You're not coming in here lawless.
Yeah.
But, you know, if you want to come in under a different name and show up masked and have that hidden identity
and maybe show up as something that isn't your 9 to 5 parent mode or 9 to 5 corporate executive, you know, you're able to do that.
You're able to come in as you wish as the most fantastical creature.
You know, we have a lot of high profile membership.
Yeah, I was going to say that.
Yeah, they also want that anonymity and that sort of veil of protection for themselves.
And it really is a guarantee because we check phones at the door.
No one's coming in with their cell phone.
Most of the room is masked.
I love to see at the masquerade, you know, how many folks do show up in these, you know,
gorgeous, glamorous masks.
It's very, it's very sexy.
It adds to the atmosphere.

Most of the room is masked.
I love to see at the masquerade.
You know, how many folks do show up in these, you know, gorgeous, glamorous masks.
It's very, it's very sexy.
It adds to the atmosphere.
Yeah, totally.
And I know, like, you know, like, you know, in New York City or L.A., I mean, you are going
to have those higher profile people, right?
Just because it's a big city.
and I think that that kind of anonymity really helps
because I have everyone on my show is anonymous.
A lot of times people give me more information
so I know that I have had on some high profile people.
They can't put this stuff out there and be who they are, you know,
but they're living the life, you know.
How do they vet people?
If you're not looking at like, you know, you could use a fake name,
do they do they take photos?
Do they take license?
Do they take all that kind of stuff?
And how do people like apply to get in?
Yeah.
When you're applying to be a member,
that is where complete transparent.
is expected. I mean, our membership team that works, you know, around the clock really vetting these
membership applications through our website, that is a process where you're going to have to divulge
information about yourself. So when we receive an application from our website, that does include
ways to contact you. It does include some photo requests, some ID requests. And then, of course,
you book a meeting with our membership director, and that is done virtually over Zoom. And we get to
know you and we get to talk to you a little bit about the ethos and the philosophies of sanctum so that
it is a fit but you're not entering our world with maybe a different expectation we want to try and
do as much of that myth busting up front because a lot of people are curious but they don't know how
to you know establish their expectations with what they're getting themselves into and we don't
want them to feel any hesitation any concern around it i mean one of the things that we offer especially
to new memberships is the opportunity to speak with me in an intimacy coordination capacity,
which means I'm going to be something of a facilitator of your expectations.
If you're a couple that is curious about attending one of our events and you're worried
or you're you're sort of mulling over, how is this going to go?
Are we going to be pressured to play?
Are we going to be in conflict with each other?
Are we going to be exposed to something we may wish to see or not see?
what are some great ice breakers?
These are all the kinds of subjects and areas that we cover in the conversations I host with members.
So the vetting process, it's a vetting, but it's also a preparation to ensure that we are aligned,
you know, that the new member stepping into our world understands who we are and is entering it
with that knowledge as opposed to just coming in with the curiosity and the bright-eyed, bushy tail,
which can sometimes lead to error.
You know, sometimes it is sort of kid in a candy store vibe. Sexuality is something that's so exciting when you begin to seize it for yourself that you do get something of a high. So this is why we are very regimented in how we sort of vet and prepare people to enter our world of sanctum. And that's to protect the community as a whole. Oh, yeah. No, I would want to know those things. I just posted an episode on, you know, about like swinging etiquette, like, swinging etiquette.
Swinging club etiquette because how would you know if you don't know? I mean, do they have a big sign up
there, you know? How do you get involved in an orgy? Can you just like jump in? Like you can't,
but some people might not know that, right? And like you say, sometimes, you know, a guy might just like
try to jump in because he's fucking horny. And when you're horny, it's like you're drunk. You're not
really thinking properly. So if you don't know, you don't know. So I think that that's great. And you, and you are,
listen, you are putting together a party. So you want to create a certain kind of vibe. Right. So I would
assume you do that in a certain way, like in that way too, to get like a certain kind of vibe going?
Or like, do you have that?
Sure.
Right?
Oh, sure.
Of course that's considered.
I mean, that's a big part of it as well is that there are folks that are coming there
looking for chemistry, looking for alchemy.
Right.
And we want to ensure that, you know, we have that balance, whether that means more of the
intellects, whether that means more of the glamorous world, you know, whether that means more
of those sparkly show ponies that like to, you know, show off their incredible lingerie collection.
I mean, we are very careful to curate a room that, you know, is nourishing and fosters some of these
opportunities for people because a big part of it is making those connections and we love
seeing those stories come together. And some people make it, you know, a reconnecting every time
they attend one of our masquerades. You know, they've got their friend group, they've got these
people that they look forward to seeing and playing with every single event. And so it's very special
to be a part of their journey as well. Do you allow, I mean, obviously you allow couples or the single
men allowed, single women. I know you would have to like figure out how many could go, you know,
at a swing or something. Some places don't allow single men. Some places do. How do you guys work there?
Sure. I mean, we allow single folk, absolutely. The single male, the single male ticket price is higher.
and they are given a little bit more of that, that, I guess, processing.
I know that sounds so strict. And I say that with a cheeky smile. But we are, you know, we are, of course, a little bit more communicative in understanding what the intent is from a single man.
We want to ensure that, you know, anyone attending as a solo individual, they understand what they're getting into.
You know, there's going to be a lot of established couples and what's the etiquette around that. You know, there's going to be a lot of other single people and maybe,
you're going to mix and mingle with some of them for the first time. So a lot of it is about
just being a responsible party person. But no, we absolutely allow the single folk to come.
And it is about keeping that sacred balance in check. I mean, we usually have a really fun
single ladies guest list. And that's always, you know, in New York City, that is just such a delight
because being the capital of, call it, you know, entertainment, call it the fashion world. You know,
You never know who of a lovely lady is on that guest list.
And that is something that, you know, if you are a single woman in New York City and you would like to attend one of our events or in Los Angeles, we do have that on our website, ways for you to apply to be a single lady guest list.
So know that that's an option as well.
What's your, what's the website for people to go if they want to check it out, by the way?
That is a wonderful place, everyone.
It's called S-N-C-T-M dot com.
So Sanctum spelled with no vowels.
There you go.
S-N-C-T-M dot com.
Please come check us out.
Yeah, I'll put the link to that in the description.
Now, quick question for you.
Do you get to play at these parties?
Were you somebody that was a member of Sancton before you started working there?
Yeah, when I'm at these parties, I'm in a professional capacity only.
So I am not engaging in play.
Even if I'm not on stage, I mean, now as the director, I'm less and less on stage.
I'll still find a way to fit it in because,
I do love being naked and being showered in applause.
Come on.
I'm an exhibition.
I'm sure everyone else is happy too.
I can't get enough of that.
But, you know, it's in that professional capacity.
It is more about cordially hosting with that very sacred boundary between us.
But as an individual, I have had such wonderful years in the lifestyle.
And a city like New York, I mean, I would never, you know, list our fabulous competitors,
but there are so many events.
going on? So yes, I've spent years attending them. I'm a very authentically kinky person. I come from
so many years in and out of sex entertainment and sex work that for me, it's always been a part of
my identity. And in partnerships and in relationships, that's something that sometimes comes with a
challenge to navigate. But when you are paired with the right person or you're able to have that
open line of communication, it illuminates your life in ways that you cannot even imagine. It's
It's a beautiful thing.
No, I know.
That's what I always say.
My show is here to say.
I'm not like trying to tell people this is the way they should be.
I'm just trying to tell people that like not only like does this work and can it work, but when
it does, people are closer because of it.
Like, you know, and that's a fact across the board.
You know, there's plenty of people out there talking about how the minute you open up
your relationship, it's doom for failure.
I'm like, I've been doing this for 11 years.
I have 1,300 episodes.
So I feel like I got the fucking data to tell you.
Couples that have been doing it 30 years.
years. And my favorite question is always like, how has it changed your relationship? Not just in the
bedroom. You know what I mean? Across the board. And it's always that it's made it closer. And I don't think people in the
vanilla world understand it. And I think that they need to and they should, you know, because there's still
such a stigma around these things that people are doing. And I feel like you, you have been in this world,
like back in the day, sort of, even when you're doing naked news, like talking about this stuff that used to be
so much more underground. I think it's very much changed. Right.
I've been podcasting for 13 years, so I've seen it change.
I used to get my guests from Craigslist, you know.
Now I'm having 20-year-olds who are out and proud.
You know, it's such a different world.
Like, how have you seen things change since you've been doing this and been underground in the world for so long as well?
Yeah.
I mean, I've observed something of a social revolution.
And I've talked about this in a few different capacities.
You know, I look at what the social revolution.
are throughout the generations, right?
Like for my parents, it was, you know, the birth control free love movement and all of that
beautiful sort of exciting expansion of what free love looks like and feels like and the hippies
and all that, you know, gorgeous fun.
And also some real political movements around, you know, women's rights and bodily autonomy.
However, what is the revolution that we're living through right now?
I think a big part of it is the openness to talking about sex and talking about new
definitions, talking about new terminology, talking about our own experience. We're seeing a lot of
confessional material happening in the zeitgeist right now. And I think that's really important.
That's really powerful because it's going to pave the way for even more permission to explore
in the physical, real, tangible realm. So what I've noticed is, you know, this entire movement of
sex positivity and openness to talking about sex and exploring it and expanding our understanding of
it. This has been on the up and up. You know, there's still censorship around how we talk about
sex explicitly. You know, you can't say certain words on certain platforms and on certain websites,
and that is a nightmare to deal with. I can't see us breaking free of that in any immediate
future, so we're going to have to live with that, and I hate it, trust me. But I'm noticing
that we're starting to talk a lot more about it. There's more of that openness to vulnerability.
And that's what's key, because it shouldn't just be about shock content.
It shouldn't just be about flash.
Like, gather around, let me tell you the craziest story about the most disgusting sex I've ever had.
Sex should not be about, you know, the gore and the action.
It shouldn't be about the shock content.
It should be about the reality check.
So that means the hilarity.
That does mean a lot of the empathy, a lot of the,
a lot of the emotional work that also comes with being sexually explorational. And I think that
that's part of doing it responsibly. So what I'm noticing is, yes, we are getting more comfortable
even talking about it. And that is massive. Look at how many podcasts there are talking about sex.
Look on Netflix. We're starting to see show like the principles of pleasure. We're starting to
see shows that are both fictional and real depictions of our sex lives today. And this to me is a very
powerful gauge of us becoming a more sexually enlightened people and public. So I'm delighted about
that. It's social. I know that in cities like New York or in Los Angeles, yes, we're seeing an uptick
in physical live events of people exploring, you know, at play parties or at fetish parties or in
that capacity. But for me, like the big joy and the big marker that I want to celebrate is that
we have found a way to actually start talking about this in healthy, vulnerable.
excitingly exploratory ways. And that is huge. Oh yeah. No, I see it. Like in the beginning when I first
started my show, like you said, there were like there's so many more podcasts talking about sex now.
I was like one of the only ones back then like 13 years ago. But what I also known it,
like back then I was like mostly guys listening to my show. I can't tell you now how many,
not only women, but couples listening to my show because they want to like open up their relationship.
They want to change things up. Maybe they've been married.
30 years and that's where couples are getting like are learning things and that's where they're
you know and I know that you're also a certified intimacy professional right so like yeah yeah what would
be your advice to couples who are coming to this podcast you know like how to sort of try new things and
change things up sure I love I love when we have a desire to strengthen what's between us in
relationships that to me is so beautiful and so real you know like these long term relationships
that we find ourselves in, when there's so much life blended and life created, we're talking
family building, memories made, legacies, built. We want to find a way to preserve the joy that brought us
together, right? And so I know that there's this movement right now of folks talking about
ethical non-monogamy and oh my God, what does that mean? And does that mean that I have to
surrender my partner forever? Does that mean I'm going to lose my partner? Does that mean that everything
sacred between us is going to be dismantled. There's all this panic around that. And that is completely
natural. Trust me, we, for too long, as a, as a humanity, as a core of humanity, have just been, you know,
steadfast to these pillars of monogamy. I understand that completely. So looking at a new world
where something of ethical non-monogamy feels scary. But what I'll say is everything you're
afraid of and losing your partner in losing the sacred bond between you,
having them desire someone else, that is not what happens in this exploration and expansion.
Where that happens is when too many walls are put up and too many desires are denied.
Okay, I'm going to tell you about Pika Vibe.
They sell sex toys, and I am going to recommend my new favorite sex toy by Pika Vibe.
It is called the Flora Pro Licking Rose Toy.
Okay, it's not just a rose toy that licks you. It has this thing attached to it that is small but mighty, okay? Like, I promise you, I was like, what is the small little thing going to do? But it vibrates and you put it in at the same time while you're using the licking rose toy and it gives you like the best orgasm that you've ever had. Okay. Now, if you're a guy listening to this is going to be the best Valentine's Day gift for your girl and get her. Get her.
her the Flora Pro Licking Rose Toy. She's not going to be intimidated by it. She's going to
effing love it because I know a good sex toy when I use one, okay? And I love sex toys. Most
girls do, I think, personally. So what are you waiting for? Go get your girl a fun sex toy.
They're super cute, by the way. They're all made with like the highest quality silicone. They're
very soft and like I said, super cute. It'll make a great gift for Valentine's Day. And you're
going to get $15 off your purchase. All you got to do is go to pika vibe.com slash strictly. And $15

going to get $15 off. It's going to be automatically applied at checkout or just go to the
description and click on the link. But what I'll say is,
everything you're afraid of and losing your partner, in losing the sacred bond between you,
and having them desire someone else, that is not what happens in this exploration and expansion.
Where that happens is when too many walls are put up and too many desires are denied.
So we're so afraid of losing our partner, right?
Oh my God, these years and years, when you start putting up the absolute walls of no,
I don't want to hear about it. I can't even talk about it. I don't want to know about it. You're actually making it more enticing. And I know that that sucks to hear. Right. Yeah. Unfortunately. The taboo. The taboo is irresistible. As humans, we are programmed to want the taboo. So one of the best things you can do for your relationship, for your connection, for your permissions to see each other in real authentic wholeness is to say, hey, if you have a desire beyond what we do, I want to know about it.
it. That's step number one. Can we talk about it? What are your desires? Is there something that you
desire that we have not shared together? So that is number one, is opening up that dialogue to even
talking about it. And it's amazing because when you eventually take that step to say, well, maybe we can
experience what these desires are. I mean, you can do that together with your partner. It doesn't
mean that you and your partner have to separate. It doesn't mean that the two of you can't go at a new
experience together. But what it does is it takes away that taboo desire to want it. So if you're
looking for a way to, you know, dismantle that fearful desire that your long-term partner might have
for someone or something else, grant them the permission to talk about it with you in a neutral,
safe way and understand that it is not a direct threat to your connectivity. What you're doing is
you're letting your partner be whole. You're letting your partner be their entire authentic self,
which is going to make it a more compatible relationship in the long run. Yeah, and you're going to
feel closer because of it. Like, it's really unfortunate. I have cheating stories on my show all the time
because I think people could learn from them. I think it's super important, right? And a lot of times,
it's unfortunate that, you know, because it kind of sounds backwards, but it's really not. It's just like
human nature 101 that like, you know, the partner who's ever cheating, like for some reason feels
more comfortable copping to all the naughty things that they're into with a total stranger than
telling this person that they've been living with for 20 years. And that's, you know,
because they can. And like you said, it's like just built up, right? They go do it someplace else.
And unfortunately, cheating sex could be really fucking charged with that person. But why, you know,
those, but if you brought those conversations into that person. And I think it's the reason why
people don't do it is because it's like super scary if, you know, that person like says,
ew or like, what the fuck. Like, and that's what I think why people keep it.
themselves. And that's the sad part that like everyone, I don't know, for me, I never took sex
that seriously. I don't care what fucking people do about. I'm very non-judgmental when it
comes to that and always have been. That's why I could do my show. But so many people are
still like weirded out by it. You know what I mean? Like there's really weird reactions people have
when it comes to sex. Yeah, because it's tied so deeply to vulnerability. I mean, so much about
our sexual identity and our sexual perspective comes from very early foundational experiences in
life, right? So what we are, what we're drawn to, what arouses us, where our fantasies may stem from.
A lot of that comes from early life experiences. And a lot of people don't know how to sit with that,
right? It's attached to that icky, deep, vulnerable feeling. And we live our whole lives trying to
escape ever feeling vulnerable. That's something we do as human beings. And so it's like,
when you look at how dedicated we are to avoiding feeling vulnerable, yeah, that's where we're going to get a lot of
sexual shaming and a lot of sex negativity and erotophobia in our culture. And it doesn't do us any
service because we're also in a life pursuit of feeling more connected to ourselves and feeling more
established as a human being that sees their life as something to be prideful about. And it's like the
biggest key to feeling prideful about your life is accepting who you are as a sexual individual,
what your desires are, what gets you off, how you accomplish pleasure in your life. And I mean,
how do you masturbate? What do you think about? You know, what are, what are you doing in that space
to ensure that you are permitting yourself pleasure? We are geared towards it. It's the ultimate
motivator. I don't care if people want to deny this. The reason why we work the jobs that we do,
try to earn the paycheck that we do, eat the way that we do, sleep the way that we do, go to the
gym the way that we do. All of it is in the pursuit of pleasure, whether that's to find, you know,
folks that are going to be like-minded or attentive and receptive to us or whether that's to find,
yes, that hot, sexy, you know, flesh and blood connection of having great sex.
Yeah. And as a woman who's been very in touch with her sexuality and very open about it,
you know, so many women can't sort of go there, right, because of like that whole slut word
that was put on us so long ago, right? You know, and so I feel like it's like a lot of times,
because whenever I have like a woman on my show who's like super hardcore, those are always the
downloaded episodes because I think guys want to like know and believe that there are women out
there that love sex as much as they do. And I feel like most women do, but a lot of times they
just don't feel comfortable putting it out there because and like, do you see that changing for
women too as well? It's so funny. We, of course I see it changing and I think it's the biggest
area for even more change and more growth because a trend that I've observed. And I think really like
we've seen so much documentation about this. But you know, we, we say,
how much men or sorry women try to operate and navigate through the world with those male the male energy right like be it in the workplace be really assertive and ask for what you want and show less emotion so there's all this like direction towards trying to adapt to what the men have done to be successful and I'm like well you're missing step number one which is go chase your sexual desires with no damn shame around it I mean there is there is there is
There is nothing wrong with that.
And you will receive an energy from it.
You will receive a liberation like you have never known before.
The second that you start prioritizing your pleasure with no limitation,
and I'm talking to you women, everything changes.
I'm telling you, actual, on a cellular, molecular level,
your body can start building muscle in new ways.
Like, it's amazing how your immune system kicks off.
I'm literally pulling my phone closer to my mouth as I scream this to all of you.
your life gets better when you start to embrace yourself as a sexual desiring human beings.
So like, please start today.
Yeah, no, that's the other trend I see for my show is like, and even on my patron is so many more
women, single women just joining, listening, emailing me.
A lot of the women that I have on my show who have been sexually liberated and come into
their own, you know, after their divorce and they're in their 50s, like I'm talking to those
women on my show, you know, but I also see.
a lot of younger women who are just starting there because it is a different world, right?
Like, it's, it's very different than when I grew up.
I was considered slutty and I didn't do anything.
It was just because I, like, fucked guys that I wasn't dating.
You know, it was like ridiculous.
Right.
You know, but I do think, you know, a lot of times, like within a couple, I feel like, you
know, somebody's got to like sort of change the game.
Like one person does something.
It's like a domino effect.
If someone starts being honest about what they're doing and sometimes if it's the guy, like,
you will find out once you're more vulnerable yourself that your wife could tell you
the things that she's into too, right? It's not like women don't have these desires. They're just
more afraid, I think, to put it out there. Right, because again, it's like we're so cautious about
preserving everything that's going good in our world. So the idea of introducing change or wanting more,
oh, that's scary. And it's like, no, no, honey, you got to shake it up. Because think about it. In nature,
everything else is changing over time. We don't fit into certain clothes that we used to fit into.
You know, certain shades of makeup that we wear no longer look good on our skin tone. Because guess what?
being exposed to the elements has weathered us in different ways.
We are constantly in a state of change.
And you have to approach your own sexuality in that way, too, in that regard that there's
going to be developments and evolutions.
Like, every once in a while, I mean, I'm very happy to announce that I'm an avid porn
watcher.
And something that I like to do is just check that search history for myself to see,
hmm, Laura, what have I been watching lately?
And, like, sometimes I go on these long streaks of, like, you know, gay sex.
where I'm just watching the quote-on-quote,
even if it's performative gay for pay sex,
where, you know, one guy is supposedly straight
and just doing this for money.
I love that shit.
But sometimes I'll also go down a trek of, you know, pregnant porn.
Or I'll go down a track of animation porn
or I'm watching two monsters go at it.
Like, I love to track where my mind has gone
and sought out that stimulation.
You know, maybe if you're not a porn watcher, that's fine.
There's so many ways of gauging this.
Like, keep an erotic germ.
bedside. Like if you are someone that has a practice of self-pleasure in your life, which everyone
should, just gauge where your head is going to accomplish that big burst, delicious orgasm.
Yeah, I love that. You talked about the gay sex thing because I'm like, I always say like on my show,
I'm like on a mission to sort of destigmatize the whole guy-and-guy action thing. I don't understand it.
It was very shocking to me when I started to talk to people in the lifestyle and realize that even in that world,
it is still like taboo
it's bizarre to me
you know in the most open place and I'm like
I don't fucking get it
and I once had the Maverick men on it
they're like two guys
madly in love in a relationship
for a long time they take in guys
they have three sons they started taping it
they became big on porn hub
and became like big porn stars
they make a living doing this
or the loveliest couple I know
and they said you know where it comes from Kathy
it's like it's kind of like
misogyny if you really think about it right
because if you're not like a real man
then what are you
because then that's like what it
that's what they're really saying.
I just don't understand why that stigma still exists.
Like, does it in your world, at Sanctum, right?
Is it allowed?
Is it not allowed?
I mean, do they have those weird rules there as well?
Or like, do people still stay away from it because of the tabo or like the stigma?
Yeah.
I mean, we definitely have a full variety of folks that, you know, are seeking out different things.
And we have a lot.
We've had some wonderful gay couples that have shown up at the party.
Yeah.
I have loved those nights because I think it's so.
important. But I also have had those nights where a gay couple comes and says, well, how come there aren't gay men going at it on stage? And I say, yeah, I know, trust me, we are so close to that. It's something that I would love to introduce. I think over time, I see a lot more of a variety in our programming that I would love to spearhead. I mean, I would love to see. That's a huge missed opportunity in the, let's call it the landscape of live sex events and sex parties. I don't see. I don't see.
enough of these sort of elite high-end experiences happening for the gay market.
So that is something, this is like a call to action to any party promoter.
Like, how about an intentional high-end, super sexy masquerade for just the gay queer community
and see how that goes?
I mean, everyone deserves the chance to be at a really glamorous, wild, beautiful
fantasy land like sanctum.
And everyone's welcome to come to sanctum.
trust me, but I also want to be mindful of like what kind of atmosphere folks feel the most comfortable in.
And we certainly have much more of a hetero attendance. Let's say that. I mean, there's definitely more,
if anything's queer, it's a majority of, say, women playing with other women. But I so wish there was more guys playing with the guys. It's my favorite thing.
I know. I love that. And it's funny because I get them all on my show. I can't tell you. There's just as many guys out there that want to suck a dick.
then girls that have girl crushes, okay?
Like, and in my lifetime, I was like,
part of that time where, like, even girl-on-girl action was, like,
there was a stigma, right?
And then it, like, changed.
Remember, like, all the porn stars became famous?
And, like, you know, there was that shift in my lifetime where that became, like,
the cool thing to do.
And every girl was like, oh, my God, they were all copping to it.
And now that's, like, the norm and it's super hot.
But it still hasn't happened to the guys.
But you think, like, guys are just as by as the women and are just as down to try things?
Like I said, I have them on my show all this.
time and unfortunately they're doing it in parking lots behind their wives' backs, you know,
but it's like it's just, it's just as common as anyone else, you know, I mean, as the women,
and it's still like there's that big stigma. It's ridiculous. They are. I'm telling you right now,
they are. They definitely are. The curiosity is there. The desire is there. The flexibility in what
their arousal systems, I'm telling you, there is so much bisexuality and by curiosity that is just
being so suppressed, it kills me. Yeah. It's interesting, though, and,
I love the younger generation. I have a 10-year-old son. We watch TV shows and everyone in the TV shows that I watch, like, that I watch his shows. They're all by, they're all hooking up with each other. There's none of that nonsense that we grew up with. But anyway, let's talk a little bit about the performance art that you do. Like, do you do a different event every time? And like, you know, I know that you wanted to talk about like sex and intimacy and art. Like, how does that all come together for you? Yeah. So we do every monthly masquerade comes with a completely new theme.
and show. And I love it because it's a challenge every time, right, to build a new story. And it's
become a delicate balance of how do you keep an atmosphere like sanctum charged with a certain
seductive, sexy energy, give them a show that feels enough narration, like enough of a narrative
arc is there that they're interested to keep watching it. Yeah. But how do we also not make it a
distraction? Because here's the thing is like, you know, there's people having sex everywhere at this
party. In every room there's usually people. So I can't just put performers on stage having sex.
There needs to be something else going on. And I over the years and in my years and years and years of
just being on stage and doing crazy radical performance art, of course I have this desire to make
these wacky, boundary pushing, sometimes politically driven message art pieces. And I learned you can't
do that. I learned that's not you can't do that. You know, like I over.
my years as a performer, I've shaved my head on stage or I've pulled the American flag out of my
pussy. Like, I've done crazy things on stage. You can't necessarily do that. It's not about
challenging in such a cerebral way. It is about building something that feels exotic, erotic,
and conducive to this fever dream that we're all a part of. Like, for example, in our December show
coming up. December, usually everyone's doing something Christmas-e themed or holiday-themed. We're going to do a very
lush Garden of Eden sort of midsummer nights dream vibe. And so I've had to come up with four 20-minute performances
that are sexy, that have characters that are each on a mission that brings them together for a
sexual encounter. And sometimes it's about one character being a little more magical, one of them being a little bit more
human, one of them being godly, one of them being saintly, and one of them being a flesh and blood,
you know, peasant, just hoping to do well. So I like to usually elevate the female character.
That's for me a must have. I don't like depictions of women being, you know, subordinate to a male
in any way. That's just, it doesn't get me off. I've definitely done depictions where between two women
there's a power dynamic. I think that's very hot. So a big goal is keeping, you know, a certain sprinkle of kink
in there because that's something that's new to audiences every time. You never know how people are
going to react to a Shabari Rope performance. I like to include a touch of queerness. So maybe that is a
girl-girl scene or maybe that is a scene where two of the men share a kiss. And I like to ensure that
we also have some performances of solo play because that is where I can see a performer in this
rawness that is unlike anything else. And I think being a spectator to someone in solo
play is so hot. You're getting eye contact from a performer that's just in the pursuit of getting
themselves off. It's very powerful. So it's about striking that balance with a full production
that has these elements in it. And there's usually some big group number as well because people
love to see multiple bodies going at it. There's something very exciting about that and annoying to
choreograph, but very sexy. How many people are a part of your team? Like you've got to come up with a
different like whole scene, four different ones every month?
Four different 20 months? Wow.
We usually have about six or eight performers in every show.
And so we'll do different pairings throughout the night.
Like I said, there's some of those solo plays.
Sometimes we have specialty performers that come in to do a little bit of, you know,
the kink demos.
Let's say there's someone that's really good at suspension and rigging and is an expert in
restraint play, well, I'm going to bring them in to do that performance. I would never expect a
novice to handle a scene like that. Right. Do you ever like pinch yourself like how the fuck did
you wind up here? It's kind of like the perfect job for you and it's like super interesting. It's not like
there's a lot of these out there, right? Like this kind of gig, you know, that you get to do like,
I don't know, it's kind of like what you've been doing your whole life. You're in that same world yet
you're putting together like, like, you know, because you used to be a performer and now you're like in
charge of doing these super hot, I don't know, scenes. It's super interesting. You know, it's super affirming.
Yeah. It's super, it's super affirming because you do spend a life living in a very real societal
stigma around this. And it's not to bring a bummer to it all, but there is a huge desire to see
folks who have lived the life like I've lived, to see us never make it, quote unquote, to stay in a
state of punishment for being sexually prideful and for pursuing this throughout life and refusing
to work that nine to five clock punching system.
I will never do that with my life.
I'm so happy and privileged and blessed to be living in this artful opportunity to embrace eroticism.
So for me, it's so affirming to be in the position that I'm in after devoting a life to this and riding those ups and downs.
Because my goodness, there is such an effort for folks like us to not feel and see success.
and I think that that is something we have to rally against constantly, you know, find your community and find a way to be instrumental within it.
I'm so lucky to do what I do.
Yeah, I would think you'd have to like pinch yourself every day that like this is like your real life because it's like you. And they say like you do what you do, do what you love to do and then, you know, success follows. And it's just like this was like made for you. You know, but who would have who would have known so many years ago, right, when you first started out that this would even be a position that exists.
I know. That's the joy of it all. Right. You did.
don't know. And sometimes you're thinking I'm kind of lost in life. I don't know what this
direction is that I'm on. Listen, if you keep doing what you love, I know that's basic. I know
that simple philosophy here, but the road will pave its way in front of you. This job did not
exist when I entered this effort, this desire and this passion, but I've stuck with it. And look,
it's met me where I am. So that's a beautiful thing that can happen in life. Yeah, it's perfect.
It was made for you. So listen, let's talk about where people could go, because Sanctum,
Like, you know, it's in New York as well as L.A.?
Yeah, we're in New York.
We're in L.A.
And we're now hosting events in Miami as well.

There's a lot of plans on the calendar.

People have to see you, like I said.
You could have either been a supermodel or you're doing this, right?
Like those were the two paths that were available for you.
But I think you just went the most interesting way.
I think so.
Yeah, totally.
Thank you so much for calling in and sharing your story.
It was super interesting.
People do need to see you.
I think people, you know, people should definitely check out sanctum.
I'm going to put the links to everything in the description, okay?
So I'll do that for you.
But thanks so much for calling in.
This was a fun conversation.
This was great.
Kathy.
Thank you so much.
You take care.
Thank you, you too.
Bye.
Bye.
Okay.
That was the end of those questions.
We have more coming up, so stay tuned.
I'll probably air the next few episodes next Sunday.
Thanks so much for tuning in.
Okay, I just want to tell you before you go that my book,
it's called Strictly anonymous confession,
Secret Sex Lives of Total Strangers,
is now available not only in paperback and ebook,
but you can pre-order the,
audiobook. It's still not going to be out until August 25th, but you can pre-order it. The book is
basically 17 different stories taken from my show. I kind of picked one story from each category
that I talk about on my show. Like there's a hot wife story. There's a cuck queen story. There's a
cuck story. There's a gang being girl story. Like I said, 17 stories. And they're all
told in the third person. And they're all true. I took the interview and rewrote it.
in the third person and I wouldn't really call it like a total erotica book. Think like penthouse
letters. It's more direct. It's not so over the top like erotica. I don't really like that
kind of vibe, right? But these are true stories. 17 of them. They're really short. Chapters,
easy read. You could read, you know, one or two and then skip around. You could read the whole book.
It's available in eback format, paperback format. And finally, the audiobook is available.
coming out August 25th, but you could pre-order it now. And if you buy my book in any format or
pre-order it, I will throw in a complimentary link to my Discord. My Discord does not disappoint, okay?
There's no way you get into my Discord any other way than getting the link from me. Okay, I give it to
people who buy my book. There's tons of people in there. Everybody shares content with each other,
and that's what you get to do there. You could post your own pictures and videos. There's tons of
channels. We have lots of contests where you can win a lot of money. It's a super fun place to be.
It's a total, strictly anonymous community and you will love it. I will be giving anyone who buys
my book access to my Discord. It's private, like I said. All you got to do is email me a screenshot
