conversation with dr kyle hulsberg i was like i think i got his name right but you call him dr kyle
okay he's super cool he's a chiropractor who specializes in health and longevity and human performance
He started a series that just came out called 40 over 40.
It's 40 tips on how to like sort of be so much healthier and not just healthier
physically.
Like it's much more healthier spiritually, mentally.
And he started that.
But we talk about so much on this episode.
And tip number 40 and his 40 over 40 is, you know, make love.
I say have sex.
Sometimes he's talking about making love.
But he gets really deep into what that means.
It's not just the actual physical act of it.
It's all the intimacy that goes with it.
He believes very much in like the mind-body connection,
which I believe in too.
So he definitely talks about how people's, you know,
physical health is a lot of times related to what's going on in every other area of their lives.
And he has all these great tips on what people could do to, you know, become happier because that will make you healthier.
And he gives a bunch of those tips in this concept.
We talk about so many different things because when I get on a phone with someone like this who believes in the mind-body connection and is very open to talking about stuff like that.
Like I go all over the place because I have a million questions and it's a super interesting convo.
You're going to learn a lot from him.
You're going to want to take his 40 over 40 longevity series because it's just 40 different videos and they're short and they're quick but they're profound.
His tips are not that hard, but they're going to change your life and you're going to hear all about it.
So I'm going to get right to it and be right back on with Dr. Kyle.
This is the strictly anonymous podcast.
Strictly anonymous podcast.
Hi, Dr. Kyle.
Dr. Kyle Halsabas.
Okay, I was like worried.
I wasn't going to pronounce your last name correctly.
But you say everyone calls you Dr.
Kyle, right?
Yes.
You're a chiropractor who specializes in health, longevity, and human performance for people over,
like for the over 40 crowd.
You have like a series actually, which is like 40 over 40.
to longevity series.
And what I thought was like super interesting is number 20, okay, something that I talk about a lot
on the show.
Your tip number 20 is like have sex, right?
That's what we're going to talk about.
I mean, I love the whole longevity thing in general.
You know what I mean?
Like we'll start talking about sex and I have a very large male audience so we could talk a lot
to them.
But I have plenty of females talking to and I just feel like, you know, we'll start with the sex.
But any other tips you could give people to live a happier, healthier, longer life over 40 is
is killer, you know.
So let me just ask you, Dr. Kyle, why did you do the longevity series?
Are you like a health and fitness fanatic yourself?
No, I mean, I'm in chiropractic.
Yeah.
I take care of, I look at a lot of potential because I get people that come in,
they go, oh, you know, I've had it too long.
And I go, says who, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
A lot of bullshit.
And I see so many amazing things.
So when we really kind of looked at it, I go, you know what?
Because you get a lot of people that walk into the office going,
I have this pain.
I just want to be better.
But then there's people that come in and go, like I said a lady yesterday, she goes,
I want to know how I'm about to turn 40.
I want to be as healthy as I can the rest of my life.
What do I have to do?
And I'm like, okay, those are the people I'm sort of cultivating.
Yeah, yeah.
Because it's what's the difference between the ones that just want a quick fix
and the ones that really want to change their life?
Yeah, go on.
Well, and we found kind of the average in the office was, you know,
you're typically over 40 when you do that. You don't get a lot of 20 and 30 year olds coming in to do that.
Yeah. You know, we got to wait until we're hurting bad and we go, oh, crap, is it too late? Can I do this?
Yeah, but it's never too late. And that's like the good news, right?
Exactly. Yeah. I mean, it's too late for specific things, I say. Of course.
You know, I joke that. I say if you're 45 and you want to try to be, you know, gold medalists in the Olympics and artistic gymnastics, you're probably not going to do it.
you can still get to the Olympics on other sports.
That's already been shown by people.
Yeah, and you could get super healthy.
There's not too much it's out of reach.
Yeah, you could get super healthy, get into shape and everything.
So what does sex have to do with it?
Like you say that sex over 40 is like a health signal.
What do you mean by that?
Well, you know, and the reason, and I use the, you know, I use the term make love in the series.
But it's, but it's even jumping in and just, yeah, I mean, it's physical.
But there's so many different components to that.
The more the more you read up on, you know, I found it kind of fascinating to read on different aspects of sexual health.
Yeah.
And when I start to see individuals that hit a certain point in life, I think there's certain aspects that are unhealthy.
I mean, if you're going out to completely escape your life and just, you know, have sex and, you know, just get away from everything.
you're probably not doing yourself any favors, but, you know, making love, having sex, having
intimate physical relations with another individual, you know, or even yourself for the most part,
there's a lot of health to that because we can get a lot of pent up pieces of our life.
And, you know, we can hold on to that stuff in our body.
And to be honest, I think I think the suppression of it is going to start to show up in physical
problems later on or different emotional problems you could start to develop.
Yeah, for sure. And it's not just sex. Like you're talking about like, I mean, like the cues, right, or not just like, oh, how much sex you're having? It's like how much do you feel like? Like what's your libido like, right? Like how much desire do you have? It's that kind of stuff. If that's going out the window, that might be a signal of a problem. And it's not always physical, right? It could be mental too, correct? Like you said, people. Oh, absolutely. Right? Like stress, all these kinds of things.
Absolutely. I mean, that you get into all these aspects. I even, I even talk about, you know, the spiritual aspects of it.
Yeah, I love that. What do you mean? Right. Talk about that. I love that kind of stuff.
Well, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's something so intimate about, about, you know, getting, getting naked and getting intimate with another, another human being.
Mm-hmm. That, that, that, that, that, that you don't know well, you're, you're going out. You want to just go connect with.
somebody for a night or or it's for a lifetime it's the same thing but you know you see that with couples
where they're like oh okay it's friday night you know we're going to go do our sex thing and then we're
going to go you know have dinner or whatever we're going to do you know like they talk about braining
the spice back to the marriage and all that and and there is something to that where you go in
and have that connection with somebody else you can look deep into somebody's eyes we we don't do
that in society that's that you don't walk around and keep looking into strangers eyes
everywhere. Some people probably do. But for the most part, you just kind of glance at people.
And when you really look deeply and intimately into somebody else's eyes and then you get
and kind of have that connection and just try to, you know, bring your soul together with
somebody else, there's a health aspect to that and a longevity aspect. You're putting yourself
fully into an experience. And the quote over my head right now in my office says life is
experience. Right. So there's certainly an aspect of that you can take to a spiritual level. You can do
sex entirely on a on a mental intellectual level. People could sit down and break it down into parts.
I mean, there's scientists that do that, right? Yeah. Probably. And then you got the relationship health.
You got the physical aspects of it. There's, and there's certainly people that make sex their
job. So there's a lot of different health pieces there. Aren't you maybe talking about like Tantra and,
you know, that kind of a thing more so? And it's like,
really being present in the moment.
I think a lot of people aren't looking in people's, you know, eyes because we're all sort of, you know, it's like Groundhog Day.
The older you get, the more you do.
But you're like in a routine and you're like, people stop living in the present and really sort of focusing on like, you know, what's right in front of them.
Especially like you say when it comes to intimacy.
And there's nothing worse.
Like, you know, I've had sex with certain people.
Like if I'm dating them and like I had one guy who was like this amazing guy that I can have the best conversations with.
But the minute we got intimate, he just disappeared.
Like you could feel that energy, right?
If someone is very present and close and right there with you, which is what you want in an intimate experience, right?
It's not just the physical act.
It's that feeling that somebody is very present.
And a lot of people fucking check out.
Yeah, that's, I mean, that's exactly it.
Yeah.
You know, go keep that presence in there.
And the physical piece of that is in there.
I mean, you will have a completely different experience when you're present with the other individual.
Even if it's somebody barely know.
Yeah.
It's it's that momentary connection.
So, you know, there's a lot to that.
But even just having that connection, like I have, you know, the reason the reason I don't make it just, you know,
having sex, having physical intimacy, because there's many aspects to sort of making love and
having that intimate connection.
Yeah.
In that communication.
Like I, for instance, I have these, these patients that are in their 90s.
And it's, it's one of those sort of, you know, great little things.
where they're probably not very physically intimate with each other.
Yeah.
But you watch them hold hands and lean into each other and you go, wow.
I mean, there's that aspect is there.
Yeah.
And so it's not, it's not jumping all the way to having, you know, physical sexual intimacy,
but that intimate communication, you can watch them talk to each other silently by their body language.
And that's some of those aspects that I talk about when just making love.
when we brain it to the physical,
can you add that in?
Well, that has to come first.
There's aspects of health.
Well, that has to come first.
It's like I do a lot of cheating episodes,
not because I think cheating is great.
I think it's horrifying and it should not happen,
but it does.
And I love to get into the mind of the cheater.
And these people are very honest on my show
because they call in anonymously.
And even the guys that initially say,
hey, I'm cheating because I just like variety.
When it comes down to it,
no, most people are cheating because of the lack of,
you know, the sexless marriage comes after the intimacy was long gone in their regular life.
You know what I mean?
The talking.
There's no doubt.
He said he was like, him and his wife would take walks and they wouldn't say one word to each other.
It's that couple in the restaurant that are eating and they're not talking to each other at all.
You know, you know, that's the intimacy that has to stop.
Like, that stops first before your wife stops wanting to have sex with you.
You know what I mean?
Once that goes out the window, it doesn't matter if you're having sex.
There's no connection there.
The intimacy is more than the physical.
Exactly. And so I added that in because it says a chiropractor from a physical standpoint, for adjusting you, from working on your nervous system, the whole aspect of my job is about removing interference through an adjustment to it makes certain we have full, efficient, expressive communication and connection in your body.
Oh my God. I love that kind of stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Why wouldn't that apply to your relationship? Where's, you know, we talk in chiropractic, our term is subluxation.
where you have, you know, literally a bone out of place causing interference in the nerve
or really lessen the full expression of health from the esoteric definition.
Right.
I go, why couldn't you have a sublixation in your relationship?
Right.
And it's going to show up with symptoms, right?
I believe that, yeah.
Sleep, sleeping around might be one of those symptoms unless you've agreed to it beforehand.
Okay, guys and girls.
Have you ever felt that your sex drive was a little off?
Or have you ever had a time when your sex drive just wasn't where,
it normally is. I feel like that's common for both men and women, and that's where dry boost from
VB health comes in. For women, dry boost contains ingredients that have been shown to mitigate some
symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, which can seriously mask with a woman's sex drive.
And for men, it's designed to help testosterone levels, libido, and overall performance.
Another great thing about dry boost is that it doesn't take forever to work. Some people notice
results in just one to two days of taking it with most people.
reporting results after one to two weeks of daily use. One of my listeners said right on my
Discord that he is now having sex with his life three times a day after taking it for only 10
days. So what are you waiting for? Go get yourself and your partner some dry boost by VB Health.
VB Health has other great products including load boost and soaking wet and they just dropped a new
product called Energy Boost that works great. Energy Boost is a pre-workout powder that you drink
with effective ingredients for blood flow, energy, and focused.
All you got to do is go to VB.
Dot Health and use My Code Strictly to get 10% off your order.
That's VB.
Dot Health.
Use my code strictly to get 10% off.
Yeah.
No, that same guy that was very distant.
He was like overly horny for his age and he just thought that was like a badge of honor.
But I was like, I think it's because you're like, you have it like it's an addiction.
You know what I mean? It's like an improper thing happening, you know, and I know this guy still, and he eventually got through that. It changed his life. He's a very different person. And he's not like fucking five times a day anymore. You know what I mean? He's a little bit more regular. Sometimes that, you know, too high of a libido is just as bad as no libido. You know, it's like a dysfunction, right? Well, there's a reason they label nymphomaniac and satir maniac is sort of these addictive personalities that they just can't.
stop. Yes. And that'll, that, that, that willy. I mean, there's such thing as too much of a good thing.
Yeah, I, I quit drinking, you know, many, many years ago. I'm a total addict and I believe you could get
addicted to anything. And I totally believe that sex addiction exists. Someone just asked me the other
day, have you had a collar on. I'm like, I've had many callers on that have cop to it, but a lot of
people don't. But sometimes when I'm talking to somebody, I could, I hear some addiction in there.
You know what I mean? And it's, it definitely is a thing that exists. Now, when you get got,
in your office because a lot of times like somebody thinks like their libido's down it's a guy right he's
you know he's 50 years old 45 his libido isn't like what it used to maybe he can't get as hard he
comes to you like most people would think like testosterone is the thing right like that's the first thing
that guys like maybe think of like what do you think of in your office when you get that guy in your
office because you're obviously i don't know if you want to know that score first or like what do you
look for first when a guy is having those kinds of issues well it oddly enough
I don't hear about the issues ahead. I usually hear about them when they get better afterward.
Oh, interesting. What do you mean?
They don't brain them up. But, you know, my job is, see, I take care of the spine. I take care of the nervous system.
Yeah. So I'm going to, you know, I do x-rays and I'm going to look and I'm going to see exactly where I need to adjust specifically and what needs to be done to get that healthy.
because to me it's just I need to remove interference to restore connection and communication through the body.
So I'm probably going to look and see if a male individual has an L4 misalignment in their lower lumbar spine,
there's probably going to be impingement on the nerve.
And I know that that goes to the prostate and that's going to affect the erectile tissue.
I also know that it's going to be their upper cervical is going to be part of that because where your vagus nerve and your brainstem and everything comes out.
is going to be affected. So often they'll come in because, you know, they've got this back pain or they've had some sciatica or they're, you know, they're getting digestive issues or whatever. And then, you know, a few weeks later, they'll come in and they'll just kind of quietly look at me and go, does this help with erectile dysfunction? I go, of course. And they go, that's what I wanted to know. I go, I go, were you having it? And they'll go, no, not anymore. I said, great. Let me know how it's going. Right. A typical guy isn't going to go to his chiropractor and be like, hey, I can't get it up.
and you fix my spine so I can.
But, right?
They don't put that together, but it absolutely.
Exactly.
Works.
Usually, usually the women are the ones that are a little more candid with me about the
problem.
Yeah, well, not of their men, but of theirs.
Of their own, right.
For women, it's the same thing, correct?
I used to have a guy and two badies like in Tulum doing like the best work and people
are raving about him and he was like a manual adjuster.
And he would put me into shape correctly.
Oh my God, it was the worst experience of my life.
every 45 minutes, but it changed my life.
You know what I mean?
And he moved and I still have not been able to find somebody.
You do those kinds of adjustments, right?
That really align.
And it changes like your whole being.
There's no doubt.
Yeah.
I mean, that's, I mean, that's, that's why I put these 40 tips together.
They're not physical adjustments, but they're sort of mental adjustments.
Right.
So what are they?
So why don't you give a couple out and talk about why they're important?
Yeah.
Well, I mean, we know we know make love.
Yes.
And that's important because it's getting that out.
But, you know, the first one I start with is breathe.
And, you know, you brought up tantra earlier.
I mean, there's a lot of aspects of deep connective breathing.
Totally.
And we talked about being present because everybody breathes, right?
At least as long as we're alive, we do.
Yeah.
And so when I brain up, breathe, I don't say, okay, you know, go breathe.
I say take three deep abdominal breaths, really deep.
And just just ground yourself, get present in your body, get present with your breath and reset your nervous system a little bit.
Yeah.
And, you know, and, you know, if you're driving in a commute to traffic, when you're stopped, instead of screaming at the guy in front of you, take those three deep breaths.
That's usually a wiser, wiser use of your time.
And you'll live longer.
I mean, you'll just live longer.
You're going to oxygenate your body.
You're going to reset your nervous system and get it out of this sort of sympathetic overdrive we're creating.
And throughout the day, it's one of those things.
that I've learned to do, you know, with Tai Chi movements and everything to do that.
So, and you can deep dive further into breathing.
There's so many different things in breathing.
Yeah, because aren't there two different ways to breathe?
And a lot of times, sometimes, like, you're breathing, like, improperly and you don't even
know it, right?
Like, what is the proper way to breathe?
And what is the...
Well, yeah, the so-called proper way is letting your diaphragm drop down into your abdomen
and your lungs inflate entirely.
I mean, you watch little kids, they're naturally going to breathe real deep into their gut because, you know, they don't have all this bullshit on their mind all the time to stress them out.
Right.
They're just working with gravity and everything else.
So what we end up doing is we end up being real chest breathers and we effectively take shallow breaths when you think about it.
Yeah.
You know, but after we eat, if you do that, the deep breathing is taught for after you eat because your diaphragm,
pushes the food through the stomach a little bit.
Oh, you're kidding.
It gets it down.
Yeah, it'll help your digestion.
There's sometimes where you, you know where you swallow and you feel like,
I could just, if I could get it down a little more, and then you just,
yeah.
It's very satisfying because it sort of gets the digestion moving a little bit.
Oh, that's good to know.
Nobody tells people that.
You tell people that as a chiropractor.
Exactly.
Yeah, yeah, I talk about all sorts of pieces.
Yeah.
And then there's aspects of that that go into,
that you can utilize in all different areas of your life.
I mean,
every part of your body needs oxygen all the time.
So when you're stressed about something going on,
you know, deep breathe,
that's going to get oxygen to your brain.
That's going to calm you down.
That's why they tell little kids when they're having a freak out or even adults,
you know,
stop,
take some deep breaths.
You know,
give it that reset.
It's,
and you can do it,
walking down the street.
It's,
all my stuff,
designed to sort of be real simple little resets here, little adjustments you can use. So one of my
other favorite ones, I'll keep it on that sort of connection angle, is dance. Right. And my wife
and I, ballroom dance, so competitively, actually. Oh, that's interesting. I love that.
You know, there's a beautiful, and then I've studied Ikedo, the martial art, not terribly in depth,
but there's a lot of dance aspects that are put into that because there's this idea of the lead and follow.
And when you start as I'm learning now, as I've danced for 10 years, is you get more advanced.
Instead of trying to get people to do things, you start to signal that you're going one way and you'd like them to go another way.
And that's where the dance really comes from.
It's this constant communication back and forth.
Without talking.
Yeah, without talking.
And sometimes you're not even looking at each other because the whole frame will follow.
apart. But when you see those dancers that you watch on, it's kind of fun to watch on dancing with
the stars because they have to learn that in five days to be, you know, the pros don't,
obviously, but the celebrities have to kind of go in and learn how to feel those little pieces
right away. So that's one of those great health aspects, but even just dancing on your own
and getting your body moving in a rhythm is a great healthy thing. Yeah, for sure. And isn't that
another part of like being very present in the moment and in tune.
You have to be.
Right.
And to me,
like I'll tie it back to sex because I feel like that's the difference between like,
or even like a massage.
It's the difference between like a great masseuse and a not so great.
Sometimes you're getting a massage.
You're like,
how do they know exactly where to fucking go?
You know what I mean?
Or you're fooling around with someone and they know exactly what to do.
Like you're so in tune with the other person.
It's like an unspoken thing.
But it's definitely a skill that some people have and some people don't.
Well,
And to keep it on the sexual angle, there's a line from a book that I just love that the main character, one of the main character says, he goes, he's given advice to a boy.
And he says, if you want to bed a woman, you do it in the bed.
But if you want to seduce a woman, you do it in the dance.
Exactly.
I love that.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's stuck with me for 20 years, I think.
And how long you and your wife been together?
We have been married for 15 years, but we've been together for 17.
And you've been dancing for how long?
About 12 years, I think, 10 or 12 years.
Oh, okay, right.
And so do you do it like once a week?
At least, and we still take lessons, and we go, and she hasn't been able to lately because
she hurt her knee, so I've been in.
But, you know, some of our favorite dancers are the ones that you're effectively very
intimate in, which is like the Bolero, the Argentine.
tango, you know, the things where it's very much a communication dance, but also, you know,
very physically close dance at the same time. We have a lot of fun with those.
Yeah, I would think something like that. You wouldn't think about it, but if, because we're
talking so in depth about it, that that like keeps you guys very connected and close in every
other way. You know what I mean? Yeah. I mean, that's that's one of those. And, you know,
like you said before, there, you do go to restaurants. You do see couples that,
they don't talk or they're both on their phones doing other stuff and you can feel some tension.
But in dance, it's kind of fun on the flip side.
We don't talk into dance.
We're communicating.
We're not actually talking.
We're not getting into doubt stuff.
But, you know, we're going out there and sharing moments together.
And we dance with others too.
But the, you know, it's fun.
One of the aspects that I rather enjoy is I can, I have a whole different.
way of dancing when I'm when I'm with my wife, when I'm with my partner,
then I am when I'm dancing with one of the other, one of the other individuals in there,
whether it be a teacher or one of the other dancers in the, in the studio that we go to.
And, you know, you have, you still have fun with people, but, you know, all of a sudden,
there's a whole different deep aspect where we can come together and we just talk silently all of a sudden.
Yeah.
I mean, there is a communication.
I mean, it's very different than the couple not talking.
You can sense the disconnect.
You know what I mean?
Whereas there is.
And they're always, yeah, the couple of the couples at the table and they're always on opposite
ends of the table.
Oh.
And I live in New York City.
I have a son and I walk him to school and I see some of the, like me and my son were
talking the whole time every day, every minute, you know, and I see so many of the
same parents walking and I've never seen them talk to their kid ever, them, the kid, and
them walking silent.
No conversation every day for the past six years.
Like, I just don't get it.
You know what I mean?
But communication is key, but there is that silent thing going on.
And I think it's super important.
And like something as simple of like what you do with your wife taking those classes probably is like not just fun and, you know, and you're doing it competitively, but it probably keeps you a lot closer in another way.
What are some of your other tips?
And they don't have to be related to sex.
You know what I mean?
I do a sexual health series because I love health and fitness anyway.
And that's just like something that I'm super interested.
And that's why I started doing other things on my show, you know.
So give me some other great tips because I love this kind of information.
Well, that and, you know, I tend to try to relate everything sort of together.
So, you know, I try to get people to look at it in many different aspects.
But one of my others, and this hope that we can relate this back actually is create something that you love.
I mean, whether that be like building Legos, whether that be you decide to take up watercolor,
whether or you decide, you decide to learn, you know, how to machine something.
I mean, that, you know, stuff, stuff that you love.
love to do and do it a little bit. If you're like, I would love to be doing that, but I don't have time. You know what? Find five minutes. See if you can do something in five minutes. Watch a video on it. Yeah, I like that. You don't have to be. So it's not like all or nothing is what you're saying. Even if five minutes is going to change your life, right? It doesn't have to be five hours.
Well, that's so the way I put the series together is it's 40 videos. And they're about four to six minutes because I go, I want them to be easy to consume. But we need some information.
But at the same time, everything in there, I strive to put a simple exercise you can do every day.
You don't have to do all of them.
Yeah.
Where you can go, yeah, that's something that's going to fit into my life.
That's going to help change my life a little bit by trying this.
And I wanted to make it very simple because we all get caught in there.
But when you start to do simple things, they start to change little pieces.
And then if you want to deep dive into a topic, I try to give some resources.
Here's places you can look to jump in further.
Right.
Because it's supposed to be just an adjustment, just a bit of a reset, just something that gets you off.
So being creative is one of those things.
But we also talk that they're individuals that don't have a lot of sex.
They channel that energy in a creation.
Right.
And you see that with great artists.
You see that with, you know, musicians and all these.
But we can argue that there's certainly enough biographies on Isaac Newton.
Sir Isaac Newton that says he probably never had.
sex with anybody his entire life.
Look at all the accomplished me.
He channeled everything like he never stopped learning and creating and doing all this.
So those same aspect, they exist in there in different ways.
Right.
And so that's the other beauty of having 40 is we can span all these.
But then one of my other favorite ones that I do put in there for health that's probably expected is actually,
turn your phone off.
Right.
And power it down.
And I don't mean put it down and walk away.
I mean power it off completely.
Yeah.
Put it down.
Give it five minutes.
Let the phone reset a little bit from you.
How long?
I heard you have to actually, I heard someone else talking about this.
It has to actually be out of the room.
Like it can't even be just not off right next to you, right?
Like out of the room.
How long?
I just tell people five minutes.
Do five minutes.
Oh, okay.
Try it for five minutes.
You can't believe how much people would struggle with five minutes.
No, I can believe it.
I can believe it.
We're all, you know, that same type of thing.
So my cell phone is a house phone, actually, because it doesn't really leave the house unless I travel.
Wow.
You know, I just forgot it one weekend at my office and realize I didn't miss it.
I mean, as a chiropractor, you probably see people coming in all, like we're all going to be formed differently, right?
Like with our heads down, like, you know what I mean?
Isn't that affecting us?
Because everyone's like sort of not standing up.
straight anymore. Their heads aren't straight. It does. It does, but not as much as people think.
Okay, that's good. The actual research shows that, yeah, it's, it certainly is, but your, your body is made to be
able to look down and look back up. When we're, you know, otherwise, otherwise we'd be in trouble because
there were, there's, there's actual articles that you can go back and see going back over a hundred
years where there were complaints effectively that with the with the mass production of newspapers
people no longer talk to each other people are ignoring each other society's breaking down
communications breaking down and people have their heads down for the newspapers all day everywhere
and then fast forward decades to the invention of the mass market paperback and they go
people on buses no longer talk to their neighbors they're burying their heads in these paperback books
They don't communicate.
The paperback is destroying communication and culture.
And people and everybody's heads down all the time.
And now we're in the phones.
But the difference between that is the mass use of the phone.

Right.
The paper wasn't all day long.
Right.
But I love it.
It was like the same hysteria.
Like this is the worst thing.
Look what it's doing to people.
And so it's certainly something to pay attention to.
Right.
And I encourage people to pay attention to.
And I show the certain ones I show their x-rays and I go, you're in trouble if you don't pay attention.
But usually, you know, teenagers, some of the teenagers, I see that it's if their spine is actually changing with it, which it can.
And putting pressure into the spinal cord, that's affecting your entire expression of health and well-being.
and, you know, big cause of depression and everything else in anxiety.
Yeah, no, and I know that you're like, and I know that you say that there's a link between like the spine and stress and fertility, right?
Absolutely.
What is that link?
I had a lot of fertility.
I mean, I did years of stuff and had it.
And I have scoliosis on the bottom of my spine.
You're probably not going to get rid of it at this point in your life.
Yes.
But it's worth, worth taking care of.
And when you have a different structure as opposed to the quote unquote ideal structure, you have.
You have to work, you have to work a little bit harder to keep it functioning at the optimum level.
Yeah.
But there's nobody that doesn't require care to keep functioning at a high level, no matter the overall underlying health of your spine and your organs and everything else.
Okay, right.
I mean, that's, you know, I tell everybody, I go, there's no, you know, Jack Lillane said it great.
He said there's no, you know, you have to exercise, you have to move around, you have to do something with your body.
only surefire way to hurt yourself is to sit around and do nothing. Right. And how many people
live that life a lot, unfortunately, especially after COVID, everyone working from home. I started working
from home and I had to get like a treadmill because I'm like, I used to get 20,000 steps like nobody's
business in New York City and now I'm not getting five. And I'm like, I walk all day long on my
treadmill when I'm working because I can't not move. It's the worst thing you could do. And so many people
are stuck in that, especially after COVID. But what is the link between the spine and like and
and fertility because I think that's super interesting.
So we'll go back in time.
Yeah.
To the 40s, the 1940s.
My grandparents met in Dane County, Wisconsin, Sun Prairie.
And they got married.
And the stories, as far as I heard, my grandmother had bad headaches and digestive
problems.
And nobody could help her.
They went to some of the best people in Chicago, and the guys in Chicago were like
some of the best in the world at the time and said, you know, there's nothing you can do.
and they ended up in Iowa.
They ended up in Davenport, Iowa.
I don't quite know why, but grandpa's family was from Western Iowa,
so they made a stop there on the way.
And Dr. B.J. Palmer, the founder of the school down there and the developer,
he had a radio station.
He had the first radio station west of the Mississippi River.
And I always think back to the 1940s, some of those, you know,
if you suffer from such and such, you know, please see Dr. Palmer's school of chiropractic.
and brought up some stuff and, you know, they were kind of like, what have we got to lose?
So they went to see Dr. Palmer and got adjusted.
And I know the years later, you know, my grandmother and I would be talking and she'd complain about something.
And she'd stop and she goes, you know, I don't really have a right to complain.
I think I haven't had a headache since 1946.
Yeah.
And I think I've done pretty well.
So I probably don't, it's not worth complaining about stuff.
And so she got over a digestive problem.
she got over headaches and as a side effect of the treatment,
she actually was able to conceive children.
She had not been able to the whole time.
Interesting.
Because a lot of people talk about acupuncture for fertility,
but I've never heard of people talking about like a chiropractic adjustment for, you know,
for fertility.
Right.
So the upper cervical spine is going to affect your hormonal function, of course.
And then the third and fourth lumbar nerves go to the reproductive.
organs of women. So they're going to affect the ovarian function, the uterine function.
Yeah. And all that. So we've taken care of, so effectively, we weren't supposed to exist.
So chiropractic helped us exist. Yeah. And then I take care of several kids that weren't
supposed to be born because their mothers weren't able to conceive. Yeah. And then we have a few
others that the IVF even was failing. And we didn't get the mother to where they could naturally
conceived, but we got it to the point where
the in vitro fertilization methods were
able to work because her body functioned
well enough to actually hold the pregnancy all
the way through. Right. And these are
at various ages. I mean, there's
some people don't, you know, right
now you have a bunch of people that don't have
their first child. So they're in their late 30s, early 40s, which is
considered geriatric. Oh, I know. And no one told me.
By the way, I didn't start trying to have a baby
until I was 42. And like,
I honestly, as a woman, it's
so stupid, but I'm being honest. Like, I had no idea that my, my eggs were as old as I was. Like,
swear to God, I didn't know what taught me that. I had no idea. My eggs were so busted and old. I was like,
oh my God. And I literally had my child at 46, okay, after like, you know, crazy shit I had to go through.
But because I didn't get that, like, I wasn't like properly educated. You see people on TV all the time.
Like, this celebrity had a baby at 45, you know, and I just never really thought it would be a problem.
Like, I could just have it whenever. It's like, no, that's not true.
But you're right. It is very old starting in your 40s, you know, because your eggs are as old as you are.
Right. Yeah. And so then there's a little more challenges in there. But there's other rewards for waiting, too.
Oh my God, please.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, no, no.
My baby was born at the best time.
It made me, people didn't think the opposite.
And listen, my sister had babies when she was really young and that's great for her.
And there's so many pros for that.
But for me, I hear people saying, like, I can never have a kid.
You'd be so tired.
To me, it's the opposite.
It made me feel young again.
It invigorates me.
It was like the start of a new life.
It was like the best thing I could have done.
You know what I mean?
So, you know, so it's different for everyone.
My brother just had.
But my brother and his wife just had their first.
first kid and he turned 40 shortly afterward. Yeah. And he's just like in my older brother then,
his kids are much older. Yeah. Because they had kids younger. Yeah. And you can see and I go,
he's starting this whole new adventure here. Exactly. And it's the first girl in our family. So it's,
it's quite the adventure for all of us. She's spoiled. Yeah. It breath like new life. It's like a new,
like for me, it made me feel younger, not older. So, you know, that's that. But so do you say, so like
You know, for, like, do you just recommend, I know, we're going to talk about your longevity series.
Like, give me, like, the signs of, like, guys being, you know, like, you call it, like,
the silent health decline.
Like, what are the signs that that is actually happening and someone needs to, like, maybe
start taking your, uh, your longevity series.
Tune into that.
Well, you know, to be fair, I'd say, you know, everybody's wise to do it.
Just to see what, what they're not paying attention to.
but, you know, it's hard for me to really pinpoint, you know, all the signs, all the possibilities.
But one of the things is, you know, like you said, you realize you wake up one day and you realize that you, you don't like to talk to the person that you live with.
You're getting a little off.
You're getting, you know, somewhere you don't feel this is fulfilling your purpose.
And you're either, you're at this crossroads all of a sudden.
I've seen it go both ways.
so of you probably.
Yes.
Of either you're going to say, oh, crap, do I want to keep going for 40 more years because
you probably got 40 more years?
Or do I want something different?
And, you know, when you start asking that question, it's, it's, hey, you're wise to go find
something, you know, my series or something else, but, you know, preferably my series,
to where it's going to get you out of your head and out of these sort of social
norms that you've been stuck in or belief systems from, you know, family or school or whatever
that are saying, no, no, this is the way it's supposed to be. We're supposed to go, this is, you know,
the American dream. We go to work at 20. We have the kids at 22. We have the marriage. We retire at
65. We, you know, we have sex two more times and then we die at 80. Yeah, they read the
diapers. That's the book. Yeah. Everyone read it. And, and so, you know, we go down.
these paths where you start to ask that or you know a lot of the others it's that that's where we
see 40 is about where we finally are ready to break free of these social norms where we just kind of say you
know what fuck it I'm sick of listening to this I don't I have I have people in their 60s they'll
say yeah I'm retiring next year and I go why and they go well you're well you're supposed to yeah
and I go no no what are you going to do and they go I don't know and they're they're a little I said do you
want to retire and they go well not really i love what i'm doing
isn't that maybe like started when people were dying at like 72 you know what i mean
or like you know it's a very different time i feel like they need to change that age
when they started that that whole social security
oh my god yeah uh scam i guess um is that you know the average lifespan was 63 years
exactly 65 yeah and and you know how funny
is that. But the, and there's, there's pieces behind that. I get other people that say, I'm working
these two more years to make sure that the pension hits that point. And then I'm out. I got all these
things to do. I mean, I've got people that that are more on purpose. It's crazy. But I, I ask that
question continuously of people. And some go, well, I don't know what I want to do. And I go, well,
you better figure it out because your brain's designed to keep you on purpose. And if it feels your
purposeless, it'll start to unravel. I so believe that. It's major. That's a very,
very important. And you see that a lot
happened. A lot of times people age rapidly
after they, you know. Very much.
Yeah, unfortunately. Or I see
some weird, I mean, just
weird fucking health conditions.
I mean, just weird stuff
comes out and I'm going, oh, this is
your body finally going, well, we don't know what to
do. Yeah. So we're,
you know, I mean, just, just
bizarre stuff where, well,
we're going to give you a purpose. It's going to be taking
care of your health. So when you're, when you're in your
40s or 50s,
or, you know, wherever hell, if you're in your 20s, it's great to look at.
But, but where, you know, I was, I was smarter than everybody in my 20s, so I didn't have to.
Yeah.
I've gotten stupider as I've aged, fortunately.
And, you know, it's like Socrates said that, you know, I now know enough to know I really know nothing.
Right. Of course.
And, you know, that's, that's the wisdom of time.
But, you know, so that's a sign.
But other signs are where you are sitting in there going, is this really what I want to keep doing?
I had a friend of mine that he got into his early 40s,
and he really realized that he didn't want to keep working at a factory.
He didn't want to keep being a machinist.
He came in.
He said, you know, I've been, I've been, you know,
he had all these different weird issues come up,
and he finally came in and told me one day.
He says, yeah, you know what, Kyle?
I'm going to go back to school.
I never really got a degree, but I want to go get a degree now.
I want to go.
Some I've always been interested in.
I said, what?
He says, early childhood developmental psychology.
And I went, wow, cool.
Yeah. Why not?
How can I support you?
That's usually what I tell people. How can I support you in this journey?
And, you know, let's adjust your spine.
Let's make sure you're healthy.
And, of course, I had all sorts of knowledge and we shared.
And, you know, now he's a licensed professional grief counselor.
He's one of the best ones you'll probably ever encounter.
Oh, my God.
He's doing finally probably like what he always wanted to do and what he loves to do.
And isn't that like the top of the mountain?
He's got a waiting list for months.
Right. He can't, he's one individual. He can't, he's, he's, you know, I just tell him, I said, don't make yourself sick serving people. But then it happened to his wife. Because his kid, you know, one scary part you have in there is you go, yeah, but I've got my kids. I've got this house payment. I've got this. You know, if I change my job, but you've got to do some deep soul searching and go, that's why the side hustle thing has kind of come out. Yeah. Is when you start to look and go, oh, it'd be fun to go over here and do this. It's, you know, where I find it, it's real fun.
and inspiring for individuals is go watch, because I love it, go watch America's Got Talent,
watch some of those people come out that are in their 40s, in their 50s, in their 60s going,
I've always wanted to be on stage in front of people.
Yeah.
And I finally decided to try it.
My podcast was my side hustle.
I've been podcasting for 11 years.
So I did it, you know, before most people started.
And I never got paid for it, never monetized it.
But I put out an episode every Sunday at 8 p.m. for like seven years before I even thought of doing anything.
but I just did it because I loved doing it.
Like it was my thing that I loved the most.
And when my son went back to school,
when, you know, went into school and I'm like,
okay, now what do I do?
I, my sister's like, why don't you try and monetize your show?
Like, you do that, you know?
And I'm like, oh my God.
And it turns out it's like what I was meant to do.
It's like my thing that I love the most.
It's so fulfilling and I've never been more successful
in anything that I've ever done.
And it didn't happen until way later in life for me.
You know what I mean?
And I think it's like it's never too late to completely change.
change things up to do something, you know, because like to me, like I said, it's like top of the
mountain. I'm lucky. I get to do what I love to do. Like I get paid to talk and I do better at this
than, you know, when it comes to money in anything I ever did. But it's, I'm not doing it for
that. I'm doing it because I love it. You know, and that to me is like the key to happiness.
And happiness is health, right? Exactly. I mean, there's, you know, health,
health is a state of wholeness. Right. Is really what it is. But like, listen to the way you just
talk to me about that. Like, you just lit up.
You couldn't stop.
There's other signs for
people. When you're at that
point, you're going, is this really what I want to do?
Well, listen to your self-talk.
Listen to the way you talk to other people.
If you start to light up about,
if people ask you, you know, it's one of those
things, right? Like, you know, maybe you don't have
it with your son, but, you know, people
ask their kids and they'll say, how was school? And they'll
go, it was fine. Yeah.
But if you say, you know, hey, how was football
practice? Oh, man. Let me tell you about
to sky, you know, I mean, just, you know, and you can see him take off.
Yeah, yeah.
Because, you know, my, my, my, my, my, my nephews all play football.
And if I ask the youngest one, he's got to come in.
He goes, I hit a guy really hard.
Uncle Kyle was awesome.
That sounds like my son.
Right.
Yeah.
You know, but, but you could, you could see them light up.
But if I ask them what they're studying, they'll kind of go, oh, you know, just stuff.
Right.
You know, it's not, it's not terribly interesting.
So when you're, you know, when you're there and you're in your 40s and, and, you know, you're, you know,
You know, you can get me going on health, but if we decided you wanted to switch this up and say, you know, what can you tell me about history?
You know, you and I will be here for the next six hours.
And I will talk to you about history until you want to kill me.
And here, the Mona Lisa gazed into Mona's eyes in perfect health with no undiagnosed problems and her optic nerve in excellent condition.
Anyone here got eyes like Mona?
Mine are brownish.
Not enough people know about their eye health.
That's why OCT scans are included in every standard eye exam at Specsavers locations.
Should have gone to Spec Savers.

Because you love that, right?
I mean, that's why I started.
I love that.
I love the story of history.
I love stories more than anything else.
I try to tell the story of health and human potential here.
So, you know, I'm always looking at that potential for,
people. So look at that and look at look at the things you always have time for. That's one that's something
I've learned from from my mentors over time is, is look at where you, you know, if you always say,
well, I just don't have time for that. Then you're probably saying it's important to you,
but it's probably not as important as you think. So these are, these are little things. But if you find,
you know, if you're 45 years old, if you're 55 years old, and you find that you're just recurrently sick
all the time and you, yeah, maybe you have a good chiropractor, maybe you have, you know, good,
quality of life and all that, but you're going, man, you know, I'm doing all the right
stuff, but I'm just always sick and nobody can ever find anything. That's where I, I look at
somebody in my office and look and go, well, what is it about your life that you just really
don't love and appreciate that your body's breaking you down over? Totally. I believe so much
because your body's going to give you. No, keep going. I'll cut out of that out. Your body, your body's
going to give you that feedback. Yeah, I just had Dr. D. Martini, John D. Mortini on my show. You know,
you know him, right? And he was like, I could have talked to him for like 10 hours. I'm obsessed
because I believe so much in the mind-body connection, you know, and I wanted to ask you, you know,
do you hear, like when people come into your office, like, do you, do they come in with a problem?
And then maybe sometimes you start talking to them and you could sense that maybe that sort of
physical problem comes from like something that you typically see is like from a specific thing.
Like, you know, he was tying different kinds of problems to different kinds of, like, you know, mental things that were going on or other things that were going on that the body was taking on, right?
Do you see those patterns because you've been treating people for so long, too?
Yeah.
Well, I ended up, I was actually a student of Dr. D. Martini.
Oh, you're kidding.
Yeah.
Yeah, I know.
He's, I've known him for many, many years for, for, God, almost 20 years.
Yeah.
And because, of course, he came from chiropractic.
I met him in chiropractic.
Yes.
Yeah.
And we've, we've, we've, we've had this exact conversation.
I've, I've, I've gone through a lot of that stuff because I'll go, I've, I've, I've even
consulted with them and said, you know, I'm having this going on with somebody.
What do you suggest I look at?
Yeah.
He's, you know, he's, he's very knowledgeable about it.
But clinically, yeah, we start to see it.
I can imagine.
Yeah, I love examples.
Like, he told me some stories.
I love these kinds of stories.
Tell me.
So this, you know, lovely lady, one of, one of favorite people that, that comes in.
for she had about every three months she'd get a real bad right ear infection and and it would it would
be to where she needed drops or antibiotics we would adjust her because uh the the third cervical nerve
is going to affect your ear we could adjust her and she'd get over it yeah over it all the time yeah
and and and but it would keep recurring and and she and i we would just idly idly chat and she'd tell me
a little bit you know i'd ask her how her kids were and uh and and and and we'd always
idly chat and one time we're you know we're talking we had we had spoken about uh one of her children
and she goes but you know he's grown it's it's okay whatever he wants to do he's an adult now he can do
all that right and about the third or the fourth time i think she had this recurrent ear problem
i just looked at her and i go what do you not want to hear so bad that you keep knocking your hearing
out there you go and goes what do you mean i said i think you keep telling me you don't
care about what's going on. But I think it really bothers you and you don't want to hear it.
And I mean, we had a moment. I got to adjust it. I said, I think when you leave here, you need to go
home and call your son up and tell him, you're bothered by this and have a discussion about it.
And that was maybe two years ago. She hadn't had an ear problem since.
And I will attest to the fact that once you figure out what it is and go there, like, it could literally disappear.
Because I've always believed in mind-body connection.
I would like read up on Louise Hay and Dr. Sarno.
I remember Googling hives and feelings because I was getting hives all over and I came across Dr. Sarno.
And the minute I realized what it was, it's like I stopped with that.
I had vertigo.
You know, same shit.
And it's like the minute I came across something.
And it always rings true, at least if you're being honest with yourself.
You know what I mean?
whenever I looked into what's the mind connection to this physical thing that I'm having and I read it and it rings so true and I take it in.
It's like it completely goes away.
Like seriously, it's that fucking simple, even though people don't get it.
But I think what's hard is being really honest about it.
You know what I'm saying?
And really looking at it.
Yeah, that's the harder part, you know.
So that's so like, so my, you know, Dr. John obviously has his, you know, methods.
which are fantastic.
The pieces in it,
if you do listen to my 40 over 40,
you'll,
he was one of my contributors.
Yeah.
Oh, awesome.
So don't,
don't worry about that.
Yeah.
But he,
you know,
when I put all those together
and I went down that whole thing,
the underlying purpose was to just,
you know,
sometimes deep diving into yourself is really challenging.
So I wanted to make it,
what are simple things?
Yeah,
I love that.
Yeah.
small and simple where you can go, you know, you can make it, you can sort of safely do it.
And I say when you get on and when you buy it and you get to 40 over 40, when you look at it,
don't go, well, these look real safe.
I want to do it.
Look at the titles of things that look really challenging to you and go listen to those first.
Oh, I like that.
And push yourself just that little bit.
And you're on your own and it's your thing.
Nobody's going to hold you accountable to it.
But, you know, hold yourself a little bit.
and say, can I listen to this?
Can I challenge myself a bit on this?
Yeah, and there's nothing like a challenge.
It keeps you young.
It's invigorating.
Tell people how they find it, you know, and explain it again, like what it exactly is.
Of course, everyone that's driving, like whatever you're going to be saying, I'm going to put a link to it in the podcast description so they don't have to remember everything.
But you give your shoutouts.
Here we go.
It's the 40 over 40.
It's 40 ways to maximize health and longevity after 40 years of age.
though you don't have to be over 40 to take advantage of it.
Right.
But you can find us at 40 over 40.com.
That's 40 over 40.com.
You were able to get that URL.
That's a good URL.
You bet you.
I went in, nobody had it.
Wow.
I got it.
Perfect.
So we got a hold of that.
And then it won't be fully launched and available for purchase until the end of September.
but if you get on now.
No, no, no, wait.
I'm going to cut you off right now.
I could hold this until the end of, like, I could air this like two,
three Saturdays from now.
So it is launch and you could speak to it being launched if you want.
Would you rather do that?
Sure.
Okay.
So why don't you just say it's available now?
It just came out end of September.
You know what I mean?
Okay.
Okay, say that.
So it's available.
It just launched at the end of September.
You can still get on.
You can still get some early bird discounts that are going on with that if it's soon enough.
But 401.
over 40.com, get on, take a look at it, and if you're not quite 100% sure you want to jump in right
away, there's certainly some, you can jump on the email list and we'll send you some freebies in
there to give you seven signs that your life is getting too far off purpose. And maybe give you
some basics in there. And if you want to deep dive a little bit further and jump into the program,
you absolutely can. Okay. And so that, and in order to be put on that email list and get that
email, that's also on that website, correct? Right there. Yep.
scroll down a little ways.
And like you said, it's 40 different videos, correct?
Like, that's what they're going to get.
You're going to get videos.
Yeah.
Yeah, about four to six minutes.
We put it in an audio form if you want to be able to take an audio and listen to it a little more consumable.
But the videos are originally recorded everything together.
Okay, awesome.
I love this stuff.
Like I said, I started my sexual health Saturday series because, yeah, I talk about sex and I just like people's stories, you know.
But I love health stuff.
and doctor stuff and chiropractic you name it i'm like this is like something that i'm also very
interested that's why i started it so i could talk to people like you and dr dmorty you know john d mortini

about chiropractic stuff too but um thanks so much for calling in and sharing all of this information

Bye.
All right.
Bye, bye.
Okay, listen, thanks so much for tuning in.
If you're listening to my show on Apple or Spotify,
make sure to give me a five-star rating.
It takes like one second.
You could just press it on your phone,
and stuff like that really helps the show.
And make sure to also follow my show on either Apple or Spotify
or wherever you listen to my show.
I also want to tell you that my book,
Shrically Anonymous Confessions,
Secret Sex Lives of Total Strangers,
is now available in the audiobook version.
It's basically 17 stories taken from my show,
and they're all told in the third person.
I wouldn't call it a total erotica book.
Think more like Penthouse letters, okay?
Each chapter is short.
It's one story taken from my show, like I said,
but told in the third person by a narrator.
I picked the narrator.
I made sure to get somebody hot, okay?
Guys, I've been emailing me that have listened to my book,
and they're like, oh my God, I'm getting what he's listening to.
So you're going to dig it.
The book is also available in e-book version as well as a paperback format.
But I personally think the audiobook version is the best.
Anyway, thanks so much for tuning in.
