much you love me. And if you don't give me enough, then you don't love me. Like, I mean, and it's been since I was really little. That's how I know is my love language. For me, it's more like just a thought. Like, I had a friend go to California recently. And I was like, oh, my gosh, can you bring me back something? They're like, what do you want?

I'm like, I don't know. Just find like a rock on the ground that makes you think of me. Yeah. And they're like, no, I'm going to actually bring you back a real. souvenir. They did. But, yeah, no, I love being spoiled. Yeah, you probably don't care.

To me, pantyhose and no, tights are different in that. Tites have a much higher den and a much, so they feel more constricted. You can't see through them. Right? Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. But now when your husband first started or when he finally copped to the fact that he liked this, did you guys and, you know, have the conversation where you question him like I would? Like, when did this start? Like, when did you realize you were into it? I mean, do you have that backstory on him?

Oh, yeah. I have that back story. It started for him in his childhood. Yeah. Like he's, he's always been very open with me about it. It started in his, in his childhood. Like, I think he snuck into his mom's room and, like, found her stockings or something like that. And, like, it just kind of started from there. And, like, I know he had a really big obsession with Velma from Scooby-Doo.

Like, because she was a cartoon character. she wore tights and he thought that was it super yeah oh you have to google her velma i didn't realize velma wore tights yep well is it velma or daphne no it's daphne that wears the tites i'm i'm confusing me for myself dvna was a real smart one the book smart one i think she had like uh socks on yeah she had the socks and like the mini skirt yeah you're that's right uh daphne was the one in the she was yeah yeah she's as a skirt she's the more girl she's the more girl early girl one. And um, actually recently, he shared it with his dad, which his dad lives with us. Okay. So, um, like, before his dad moved in with us a few years ago, it was just like a common thing for us in our house. Like if you just wanted to wear like a skirt and tights around the house, completely fine, like totally normal around our kids too. Right. That's cool. Uh-huh. And then once his dad moved in, he obviously

stopped doing that and it just became like a thing he would wear in the evenings. Um, and then the living situation kind of became where his dad just lives with us permanently now. And my husband was like, well, you know, like, I want to be able to feel comfortable in my own house. And my dad lives here. He's going to have to learn to accept me for who I am because this is my house. Right. Um, so yeah, like his dad's not super comfortable with it. Like, his dad's very old school and just like not as progressive with some of his thoughts. Of course. Um, that whole generation. Yeah, exactly. But for the most part, his dad's pretty comfortable with it.

Like, my husband's not going to go around wearing like a full on skirt in front of his dad. But, like, he'll wear, like, basketball shorts, a pair of, like, sheer tides and, like, ballet flats or something like that. Wow. Something comfortable to wear around the house. But were you there for that initial conversation? Or did he tell you, like, how that combo went? Like, how do you tell your dad? He talked with me afterwards.

Like, it was in the house. I knew it was going to happen because I had been encouraging him for a while. Like, no, you need to make this as saying, like, if this is part of who you are, stop hiding who you are and just, like, force others to accept you because I've already accepted you. You need to accept you, too. Right. Yeah, no, I think overall it went well.

His dad was a little surprised, but at the same time, like, you're like, well, it's your house. it just makes you happy, this makes you happy. Right. Who am I to say anything? Yeah, that's cool. I think sometimes, you know, that's like a guy thing. They're less thought they think less than women, you know, about something. You know, it's kind of like black and white.

They're no more, you know, it's like, okay, it is what it is, whatever, you know, whereas maybe a mom would be like, what does this mean? I don't know. Like, I don't know. But that's interesting that he was, he was like, if that's what you're into, that's what you're into. Yeah. he has not told his mother yet, which his mother lives in New York. We don't have to worry about her. She's, she's a prude. Whatever.

Yeah, his, his dad's relatively comfortable with it. And our kids are just so like, they've grown up with it. Sometimes they'll be like, they'll ask questions like, oh, daddy, are you wearing like purple tight? And you're like, yeah, I am and they're comfortable. Right, that's it. What about it? Right. No big deal. You don't make it a big deal. It just, it is what it is. I think, listen, kids are the least judgmental. You know, you're never going to have a problem with kids accepted anything. It's the grownups and the adults that, you know, you have to worry about a lot of the times. And especially, I think,

you know, the younger generation coming up, I talk about this all the time is much more open-minded than, say, our parents or any, you know, because it's just generational. You know, our parents grew up in such a very different time. My parents are even older than your parents because I'm older than you. And it's just like, you know, they tend to be everybody in that generation. You know, there's themes and people are all away. And, you know, you almost have to feel for them because it's not like it's totally their fault. You know, this is the times they grew up in and what most people bought into and believed in and how they all sort of acted. Oh, for sure.

I've had a lot of really deep conversations with my dad. Like my mom passed years ago. and I'm relatively close with my dad as far as like our conversations go. Yeah. Like he knows my husband and I are Polly and like he doesn't really Yeah, he doesn't really understand it

And like he had at one point he was like you know I kind of feel like it's my fault that you became like this And I'm like, well, I'm not saying you weren't But you didn't influence me growing up But at the same time like I literally never had anyone in my like growing up history where there was like a successful marriage and there wasn't like cheating involved so like um but no so did your so you think like what you were trying to say was that because you didn't see any kind of positive relationships you can't imagine not being

poly because I feel like you have such a successful relationship no no I do have such a great relationship and all of the relationships in my family's history, they failed because of infidelity where they weren't being honest with each other and they were going out and cheating with each other. Right. Or on each other. So for me, like my dad cheated on his girlfriend with my mom, left his girlfriend, married my mom, left my mom to go back with his old girlfriend. Oh my goodness, no way. Yes. And then like, so his old girlfriend is not my current stepmom.

Like, oh my God, I could go on and on about like how terrible of a role model he is for being like a good, a good husband. Oh my God. Oh, and that other girlfriend, I mean, that day she got her guy back from the woman that she did. I mean, that must have been like her, like, high five moment because she must have, you know, think about it like, you know, your guy cheats on you with somebody. And then you get them back. And then you get them away from that girl. I mean, oh my God. Yeah.

Yeah. It was a whole drama of my teenage years. But, you know, listen, I think that when you grow up a certain way, for better or for worse, you, you know, you always have the choice to. either, you know, do the same and repeat the bad behavior or just go the opposite and not repeat it. Exactly. You know, what's wonderful about you is you went the opposite. Exactly. Like my, it was such a hypocritical, like, thing. I remember arguing with my dad. And he was like, you know, like, you can have a really successful marriage and it can be monogamous. It just takes really good communication. And I'm just like, are you talking about right now? You're like, you are poster child for

lack of communication skills. Yeah, but that's why he could, I mean, he could never imagine what you're doing and being successful. That's why he had to keep it all on the down, though, because, you know, in his brain, it can't work. You can't have your cake and eat it too. And I think in most people's brain, it's like unfathomable to have that kind of relationship and have it work and everyone be okay.

I even heard Dr. Drew once, and I love Dr. Drew, you know, once. talking about this on a like a gossip show and he was talking about he was talking about a couple who had an open relationship and he was saying it just never works and you oh and I'm like really that's interesting because I've talked to many people on my show where it has worked yeah of course it's not going to work for a lot of people I totally understand how there could be a lot of drama to it and it doesn't work out for a lot of people and it could lead to all these things but there are definitely people out there that do it and it. It's healthy and it adds to the relationship and it's a positive thing.

And I just couldn't believe he was talking in such absolutes about it. You know, because, you know, he would think he would know if anyone, but he doesn't seem to think that that's possible. And I think a lot of people don't. But I have had many people on my show who have called in and been doing it for a lot longer even than you, you know. And they're solid, great relationship people. And I think it typically works with, you know,

from what I get from what you saying about your guy, that it's typically not with a guy that's like your father. You know what I mean? Like the philander or the guy that's cheating. It's typically with like the guys that do it successfully in the couples, the guys are like good guys. You know, like they're not like that like player type of guy

that just wants to fuck everybody. You know, it's not that guy that somebody's with that is open with. And which is the opposite of what you would think. But to me, the successful relationships, the guy, typically I'm talking to the guy, the guy to me is like actually a really good guy. And a lot of times he doesn't even want to fuck other women. He just wants to see his girl with other guys, you know, and he's fine. Honestly, my husband is the same way. Yes.

He has the open option to like go hook up with anyone he wants to. And like, he's like, yeah, I know I can. I'm just not really like pushing for that because I have you. Yeah. But I completely love. And like I'm not saying with us being Polly, like I'm not dying to jump out and like fuck some other dude by any means. Yeah.

Like it's just fun that we have that level of, um, connection and respect for each other and just openness that like if we wanted to, we were completely okay with the other person doing that with someone else. And it like it only happens with. communication. And my husband, honestly, he's such like a great,

sweet guy. Never really, aside from his one affair that he had not the type to, like, go out and then be a player and something like that. Right. And listen, I love that you say

and like for not the time he cheated on me. And some people would be like, oh, he cheated on her. So how can he be a good guy? And what people don't understand and what I hate about people is that, you know,

they think, everything is like black and white. They look at somebody like, oh, a good guy would never cheat. Like, you never know what happens to people. People, you know, human beings are human. Nobody's perfect. People mess up. Things happen. But it doesn't, you know, you don't take that little thing that somebody did and paint the whole picture. You know, that isn't the whole picture. This is a great guy who did cheat once. But, you know, that doesn't define him and you don't have to define him. But a lot of people do, you know, sort of look at things that way. And I hate that. Because, you know, because that's not the way.

That's not the proper way to look at it. Like, look at your guy is a fucking good guy. And I believe it. And I believe that a good guy can cheat. Okay? I believe that. And I think that some people can't wrap their little brains around that. But they should.

Right. Everyone has moments of weakness. Everyone has times where they're like, they do something that they're not supposed to. It's a matter of owning up. It's a matter of owning up to it, realizing that like you did something, doing what you can to make amends for it. and just not making the same mistakes again. Right. You did a bad thing.

You're not a bad person. You know, and I think that people should go and listen to your first episode to hear how you work through that. I mean, because you're in your first episode you talked about. I mean, the title was, Diane cheated. Diana cheated on her husband and now they have an open relationship. I mean, you cheated on him, and then you told him, and then he admitted to you, and then you worked through it, and then you had this whole, you know, open relationship. and I think I harped a little bit on how you felt about that and the sadness that you had.

Yeah. I needed that kick in the ass, though. Oh, okay. Good. I've listened to the episode three times and I'm like, girl, you really are still hanging on to old baggage. Let that shit go. Oh, okay. Because I was like, I felt like, oh, maybe I shouldn't have hopped on that because you're totally fine.

Oh, okay. I needed it. I had one of my best friends listened to the episode. And she's like, girl, you just had a therapy session with her. How do you feel after that? I'm like, I feel amazing. Yeah, no, but I feel like, but what I love about having the second conversation with you is that I see a bigger picture of your marriage.

And like, I feel like, oh, even if you have that little baggage, like, that's just something you have to clean up. But your marriage is really solid. That's like a little thing there that you're keeping and you could let go. But, you know, the overall picture. And I think that's what you tried to get across to. me, you know, is that everything is cool between you guys. You know what I mean? It is really good. And that's also another interesting thing to point out. Like, yeah, just because that's there, that's not,

that doesn't mean that your relationship is unhealthy or in, you know, is ready to fall apart. You could have that little thing there. It needs to be tended to. But overall, things are really great and you guys are solid. And that's what I love.
