How we doing, everyone? Welcome back to Gulf Subpar with Colt Nost and Drew Stoltz. The last signature event is now completed and what a show it was. Victor Hovlin, Scotty Sheffler, battling it out all the way in to Monday around TPC River Highlands in Hartford and Cromford, Connecticut. They all showed up. It was an awesome scene as it always is there. But in the end, Victor Hovlin picking up his eighth win on the PGA tour. A tournament always delivers, doesn't it?

And shout out to the fan. You said there was 45,000 people out there. It felt like a lot more than that. I felt like they were loud, but there wasn't like the U.S. Open. There wasn't like any bad cheering. It was just cheering. Like the Norwegian little conglomerate

that was for Victor was sweet, doing the rows and all that stuff. Came back with a little USA. Great shootout. You got two of the biggest names up there. I thought it potentially could go a long time this morning when it started. And unfortunately, one hole only.

I would like to see those two go at it for a little while. But props to Victor Hovlin, man. It's been a weird season for him. He's the hardest guy in the world to predict. He could show up and win or he could show up and hate everything about it. And he played good in Canada, thinks he's got it back. And then U.S. Open. He's on the range for forever.

But good to see him back. He's driving it good now. Hopefully, if he can just lay off the tinkering, he seems to be in a pretty good spot right now. Well, I don't think he's going to lay off the tinkering. But hopefully this continues, this goes going forward. He plays some good golf because he's such a great personality. The fans love him. The other players love him.

He's such a good dude. He's hilarious. he's good for golf, but it's weird. You look at those two, and we had the crazy rain that came in. I mean, 1.2 inches in like a short period of time that stopped play. But for Victor, it was a great break because he was struggling and it was time to reset a little bit. I know he was coming off Bertie at 13 when they blew the horn on 14. But Scotty was like in full control, in my opinion.

He was hitting it the best. He was making the best decisions. The two shots he had on 13 were just disgustingly good. And then they blow the horn in 14, and Scotty really struggled. after the rain delay made clutch par putts, or he could have finished fifth or sixth, some huge putts. I mean,

you're talking 15 and 18. The shot he hit into 17 from just over that bunker from 190 out of the first cut was why he's the best iron player in the world, the one on 18 after the poor drive, and then to ram the putt by like he did, and then to make it coming back in the dark

to force extra holes the following morning, says a lot about Scotty, but in the end, man, Victor, he's a tough dude. You see him get the Ryder Cup in these in these competitions. He's a tough out. And then you go to Monday morning,

both hit seeds off the first playoff hole off 18T. Scotty goes first, stubs it, five and a half feet, even though Shotlink said it was two and a half feet. I don't know how the hell that happened. Victor and hits another beauty just inside of 10 feet. And hey,

sometimes it's best to go first. And Victor Cotland steps up, buries it. And then Scotty, I mentioned this to you on radio. Like everyone's talking about how much putting, how much better his putting stats are, which if you look at strokes game putting,

Yes, he is higher up, but his iron play isn't as good, so therefore it's like give and take a little bit. There's a lot of easy two putts. Yes, and from everything I've noticed when I'm out there doing the coverage, he has struggled from, I would say, you know, the three to six foot range. And most of the time when I see him miss this season, the stroke looks a little short, a little jabby, and it's a pool. And I thought that's exactly what happened on the birdie putt in the playoff. If you look at his numbers, I believe from six feet, he's 138 on tour. from four feet, he's like a hundred and eighth. It's not the best from that short range.

And I just think the stroke gets a little short and a little jabby, and there's a slight pull. You know, Kiz on the broadcast said he chose the soft line and just hammered it, which he did hit hard. I mean, the next one didn't matter. But to me, it just looked a little short and quick and just a hair of a pool that caused it to lip out on the left side. That's why it's kind of like ironic if you go back to the night before.

It's like he's in this playoff because of his putter. You mentioned after the rain, like you 14, you could throw that par put in there too. that he made. He made three huge par putts. Stroke looked great. And you're like, this is kind of the reverse way of Scottie getting it done that we've seen. Normally just peppers, fairways, peppers greens, make some putts, just wears you down. It's normally teed a green. But this one, he kept himself in it with the putter and then for it to end the next day with a short miss. And now all the attention goes back to the putter.

If they'd had another hour and a half of daylight out there yesterday, I would have been like, Sky just got to get it on the green. Like he feels it right now with that putter. Whole another thing waking up the next day, re-warming up and everything. I think just watching him putt, it looks so much more confident than I feel like it's going in way more. From like 10 feet and in, you can pick whatever distance you want to go to, whereas like two or three years ago when he was hitting his irons better than anyone I've ever seen in golf, it was like some of these 8, 10 footers. I was like, you can just tell. He's like almost hoping that it goes in.

Now he like expects to make him and miss that one unfortunately. But I mean, like I said, he wouldn't even been in that playoff without multiple. Three, I can think of up at the top clutch par putts coming home. It's just such a crazy game because you mentioned like Scotty, the putting saved him. We're not used to that being the case. Yeah. And for Victor, he's been open that he sucks at chipping.

And you think of the chip shot he hit at 13 to par 5, 15 from down in front of the green. He chipped in their tight to make birdie. The chip on 16. I mean, the short game is what saved Victor and kind of got him back going again after the rain delay. But, man, he's so great. But it's crazy to think, you know, he's struggled as much as he has the last couple of years.

He's still won eight times on the PGA tour in his career. It's just, as far as we like to gamble, he might be the hardest guy in the world to bet on because you never know what the hell is going to happen with him. It's what also makes him really fun. Yeah, I mean, and he's just an extremely likable guy. He gets great interviews. He's super open. Even when he plays bad, he goes and talks to the media.

But, I mean, you can go back to that Rome Rider Cup. And I would argue that that might be the best player in the world right there. He figured out the chip. Remember you hoop the chip right off the jump? And I was like, okay, so that's fixed. Then he's always driven it. And one of the great iron players, this year he's just driven it bad. His iron stats are actually still like top 20.

Strokes gained approach. He's just driving it. Like, he's losing a lot of shots off the tee. And that's what he said this week. He's like I finally started to drive it again. So he's one of those guys that don't think he'll ever just stand still and not tinker and do things. But like, just revamping your entire chipping motion or something like that. Like, feel like you're in a pretty good spot right now.

But, I mean, there's people that. just can't not tinker. And he's kind of one of them. And I feel like this season a lot, it's just there's so many people out there. I mean, they're just haters, but what's wrong with Scotty?

Why have you only won once? One, that's just saying that's how high everyone's expectations are. But he's still number one in the FedEx Cup standings. And we're at the end of June. It was like a pretty good, decent margin winning one time. He's won one time,

which was a regular event, hasn't won any signature events or majors, which are more points. he's 200 something points ahead of Matt Fitzpatrick. He's won three times. He is over 1,100 points ahead of Wyndham Clark, who is fourth on that list. So you're talking about us, I believe it might be exactly 1,200 points. A signature win and a regular event win is how far Scotty Sheffler is ahead of the fourth place person on the FedEx Cup standards.

And he only has one win, and it was a non-signature event on top of that. I mean, it's just week after week. We kind of keep beating the same drunk for Scottie Schaeffler. It's just like, damn, it takes somebody else playing really good golf, and Scottie kind of not having quite all of it. And that's what it's been just over and over and over, especially the last like a few weeks go back to the U.S. Open, same thing. Go back to this week, same thing.

It's just, it's been weird. You just figure at some point he's going to start picking them off and it's going to be like that. But nice run for Wyndham. Yeah. The last five, up to fourth now on the FedEx Cup. I wasn't even getting in signature events a handful of weeks ago. Also had 20 puts on Sunday.

It's good. First time ever at the travelers. But yeah, there's nothing. You don't need to fix it. Anything with Scottie Shephler. It's an up and down here, a put here. It's fine. And by the way, with all the changes coming to the PGA tour,

you know, talking about moving to the big markets and all this to have more juice. I believe Hartford is the 38th largest sports market in the country. How was that atmosphere? Yeah, good. So I said. Keep doing what you're doing except for the Hartford Heckler. Forty-five thousand seems light out there. It just feels bigger out there.

But they were good. They were great. Well, the differences out there, I believe, you get in that little stretch, like 15 green. They're jammed into one area. It's all there. And then the amphitheater down 18 just makes it feel even bigger, but it was loud. There's a bunch of them out there Monday morning for the playoff. Yeah, I couldn't believe that.

When I turned it on at 6 a.m. here in Phoenix, and I was like, I thought there might be 100 people out there watching me like, I got to go to work. One. My ticket, I know it's good from yesterday, but probably not going to be a lot. Show up. This thing could be over in the blink of an eye, and it was. But there was still a hell of a lot of people out there, and they were loud. They were voisterous. It was cool to see.

Yeah, no question. I mean, that tournament, for some reason, it seems like there's always drama on that 18th hole. There's some all-time endings. It's like year after year, more or less. Well, we had some golf this weekend as well. Big time golf. The first ever member, member out at the new golf course in Nashville, Tennessee Bounty Club. Might be a little trophy right there.

That marks the spot. That's right. Flight champion, bud. Shout out to Bounty Club, myself, DJ Lance. Shout out to myself. to myself. DJ, that came out. Shout out myself.

That didn't really come out the way I wanted it, but it makes it even better. DJ last, we won the first flight. Ended up losing in the shootout, but it was still a hell of the time. That was our first time

seeing the golf course since it had been grassed. Place is phenomenal. So much fun to play. The staff, Hugh, all of you out there. Sam, y'all were phenomenal.

It was such a great few days out there. The stars were out. The golf course was beautiful. A little humid for my liking, but the drinks were flowing and it was a hell of a time. Yeah, playoff was fun, a little different format. All flights sitting from different distances depending on what flight you are. Who won a six flight?

Flight number six. It went in there, Stony, a little backstop, rolled it back to like four feet above the hole. You hit a nice one in there to, what, eight feet? Yeah, eight feet. Had a chance. Tricky green. We had one putt. We were standing up there watching. One dude hit one, like right of the slope.

And I was like, oh, that's going to be a tricky, that's a tricky two putt there. And you probably needs to hoop it to have a chance. he had like 40 feet for birdie next shot was 63 yards from the fescue I was like I haven't seen many if you were following that on PJ tour I'd be like shot 2 44 feet for birdie

shot 3 71 yards unknown yeah you can go and pick that one up yeah his partner at the same length of his t shot on his third but big congratulations to flight six winners Chase Bullard Kevin Matisse they got it done like I said it was awesome

Nashville, love you. Dude. You're such a great city. Looking forward to spending a lot more time there now that Bounty Club is opened up. But Saturday night, I know you left, but you missed an all-timer because one of the best to ever do it, country music superstar Alan Jackson, who's 67 years old, announced his last call, his final ever concert. Final final. Nissan Stadium, 86,000 people packing that place.

didn't have the best weather, had a couple of rain delays, but the show went on. Just to show you how much everyone respects them and how much of a legend this guy is, to open the show, you had the likes of Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson,

Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, the list goes on and on and on. Not to forget the king, George Strait, okay? The first group all came out and sang one of their favorite Alan Jackson songs.

All the different groups. There's like 15 different different. acts. Then it comes time for Alan. And then a little surprise in the middle, his good buddy and a guy he's done so many shows with saying so many songs with the King George Strait rolls out there. And I'm, dude, it was, they had tribute videos from Taylor Swift. Just anyone that couldn't have been there sent a video. Alan also said, you know, he's suffering some from serious health issues right now in

neurological disease. So thoughts and prayers to him. But that was so cool, man. I didn't know what to expect. I told you, I was like, we got to go to this concert. This is, I mean, it's the last call for one of the greats. And boy, it was phenomenal. 86, I mean, that's probably like the greatest collection of country singers ever to perform at the same venue on the same night.

They closed off Broadway and live streamed it down there. Broadway, by the way, might as well be. Do you like that place? Might as well be the Las Vegas strip. My throat is struggling. I did have to leave this last night. My daughter, Palmer, shout out Palmer, turned seven years old. Happy birthday, Palmer.

So I had to get back for that, but it was sad to miss that. But, man, also, it probably wasn't the worst thing to get out of there. That town can get you. It hurt, but it was worth it, Sleeves, I'll tell you that. Just to say a good pain. To say that you were in the building for Allen Jackson's last call. Remember when? Yeah, that's what you were saying.

I will. I remember most of it. God, that's a jam. What a jam that is. But yeah, what a try. Johnny Club, all world. Can't wait to get back down there. Maybe when it's a little bit cooler, just Nashville as a whole.

tournament. That's the one thing that kind of, like, one of the things that kind of sucks about, like, the challengers, you know, if you're on that tour, you can't go down and play, and the locals. Like, we mentioned this tournament specifically. Like, what was Zach Johnson? Oh, you're in the championship series. You can't play it. Steve Stricker, can't go play here. Like, that would be tough. So, um, but yeah. Yeah, even like, good little, good little field for John Deere. Look, JT posting just one memorial, contended at the U.S. Open and was going all right at the travelers till he made a 12 on the 13th. Yeah, that one stung me. Good tweet, though, by the way, JT.

Yeah, it happens. There you go. Greenside and 2, marking down to 12. Don't see often. 12, but he's teeing it up this week at the John Deere Classic. I mean, he easily could have,

I wouldn't blame him for wanting to take a week off after this, but he's teeing up. Some people just love this golf course, John Deere does a phenomenal job. They got Carrie Underwood playing Saturday night, Old Dominion, Sunday night, right there on the 18th Fairway. They do it right.

and a Duck City in case you forgot. Yeah, that's right. I'm a carry there. That's enough to get a few commits, I would think. Works for me. But yeah, let's get to a little gambling here. All right. You mentioned one of the names that we got coming out on our top 20 bet.

Yeah. Jackson Coyton, dude. Like you mentioned, what, fifth betting favorite you said? Fifth or six betting favorite this week. If you said, if we sat right here on Monday and you said Jackson Coyvind's your champion, I'd be like, yeah, why not? I don't see him taking a step back. He was tied for low end.

at the U.S. Open coming off one of the great college careers of all time. We've been kind of waiting for this because he's at his tour card sitting there for him and elected to go back and won the national title. When, you know, storybook ending to it, basically everything but the individual title. Top 20, yes, please. Three straight SEC titles. I believe it was like 44 college events, 39 top tens with 11 wins. He just hasn't barely played bad in any tour event that he's played in, too.

Just haven't been much anything but like really good golf that he's played in. a long time. All right. So we got Jackson Coyvin coming out. Another guy who just goes under the radar because he's pretty quiet, but what a beautiful golf swing has had a couple of chances. He's been so close as of late. And I just love his game.

And I think it's coming soon. And this is a perfect place for him. He's got a lot of offense. And he plays damn near every week. Eric Cole, top 10. Yeah. A little jicky jack legend. Eric Cole.

He's got a soft spot for those guys. I can't remember the name. He's probably missing a jick back home this week and disappointed. disappointed. He's got to go play the John Deere. I can't remember the name of the tour, but Eric Cole is the Logan. World's, yeah, what is it? Yeah, I know. He's down there in Florida. He's won like 66 events or something. There's some that are one day, some there are two days. I think he wins. Yeah. He's playing since he got on tour too. Wasn't a few years back some people were like bitching like,

why is Eric Cole playing? I was like, dude, you get, you're professional golfers. Yeah. Here's a pro too. You ever want to do anything. You're going to have to beat some guys like this. But yeah, man doesn't miss many weeks. No, he doesn't. And I'm telling you, his time is coming. as far a win, a guy who got off to a roaring start this season and then kind of slowed down a little bit, but I saw him hitting some balls recently. I feel like he's starting to turn the corner again. I like where his game is headed,

and he can make a lot of birdies, which you've got to do around TPC deer run. Jacob Bridgman. Yeah, love his golf swing, 10-finger grip. Stripe show. Yeah. Next time I go to the range, which I don't know when that'll be. 2027.

May I have to give it a look. Kind of on that John Daily plan. I haven't seen the range in five years. John Daily, a little 63. How about the kid? How about the kid? Still got it. Still got it.

And the block party. Tied for ninth block party. Has reached another tour. Mm-hmm. A little triple on the last. It's a beautiful thing. It's a little. Yeah.

You mentioned, yeah, you mentioned John Daley. 63 afterwards said he hadn't practiced in five years. I haven't seen a range in five years. It's beautiful. God bless you. I mean,

No. as a champions tour. So I wouldn't expect anything else. Talent's never been an issue for Big John. And it's not an issue for our guest this week. And we filmed this one a little bit ago. He had won twice out on the pro tour. He now has won a gazillion times it feels like.

We've got four now. Every time I open up Instagram, it's him hoisting another trophy. But he was fantastic. As a professional baseball player, played for the New York Yankees. And now he's one hell of a golfer that hits it nine miles. Aaron Hicks joins us on subpar.

You are all in on this golf right now. I mean, it's all day, every day, huh? Yeah. Yeah, pretty much. I mean, it's, I play Monday through Friday from 9th. 902. That's my little gamer slot. And I love it. Are you playing? Do you go play 18 every day or do you like to go practice too? I mean, I'll probably play three or four times and then go practice, just depending on, you know, kind of how I'm feeling.

Track man on the range? I got a little quad. I got a little quad. I got a little quad. Yeah. I'm trying to dial in some numbers, trying to just get better. give me the quad because for those aren't familiar with your game club head speeds fucking stupid like weird weird levels what's if you really go at one like you're like you're

you're not trying to hit a fairway like you're just on the range let's see what numbers I can get what can you do uh I think the last last time I tried um that was at like 200 200 202 when I actually like went after you're in the one 30s club ad well clubbed speed yeah yeah so right around like

one like 36 one of the third guy. Nice, isn't it? I mean, imagine. It's around two balls on the balls speed. Sitting here talking into this microphone. I'd say that 202 balls made no big deal. What do you game at? Like, on Pro Tour.

I don't even know how many drivers you hit. Yeah, so I really don't hit too many drivers there. A lot of the time, I'm right around like 193 ball speed. I say I'm probably gaming at. Yeah, I saw the MLB event. I did at Shadow Creek. It was on one night. I turned it on, you all on the last hole.

you and your partner were leading your partner hitting your partner hitting the shit i was like oh erin's just probably going to hit an iron down there no he sent driver 1 94 ball speed on 18 at shadow i was like oh my god it's different and then hit a wedge to a gimmie yeah yeah yeah i was a a little gassed up. I was, I was excited, man. I mean, you know, those are the things that you dream of, you know, of getting in those situations and I see what you can do. And your dad introduced you to golf at a young age, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I started playing golf at like four. Oh, wow. And then stopped at 12. And then picked at 12 and then pick it up again until I turned 18. All right. So talk to me this real quick. So you stop at 12,

obviously focus on baseball. What made you think, okay, I got a better chance at baseball? You know, baseball than golf, or was it just baseball's cooler? I think, I just think, well, the story goes like this. So I'm 12 years old. I'm asking my dad if he can buy me a brand new set of clubs. It's this, you know, big bertha, you know, was like the thing back in the day, right? So, you know, I ask him. I say, hey, if I, you know, win a golf tournament, you know, can I get some new clubs?

He says, you know what? If you do that, sure thing. I got you. Right? So I go. I literally had an event that same weekend. Go win the event. And he tells me, he's like, hey, listen, you need to realize that you could win with any type of set of clubs.

Like the clubs don't make the player. The player makes the clubs. Right. So, and I'm too young to even realize what he's talking about, right? So I'm like, you know what? No, you ain't keep your promise. I'm going to go play baseball, right? So I go to baseball.

That's the real. reason? That's like you get him in a four-time major champion right now. But yeah, man, I mean, you know, and then that's essentially how I became a switch hitter because my dad, you know, brought, ended up bringing me in and telling me, hey, if you want to play baseball, then you have to hit left-handed. And I never done anything left-handed before in my life. And he figured if I just sucked that I would go right back to golf.

And, um, but he just forgot how stubborn he made me. And that's essentially how I became a switch editor. I mean, Scottie and Roy are so lucky. daddy by your new set of clubs i know i knew you're a nice junior i just figured you were like took up baseball i'm like well i'm too good at this like i got like this is the route obviously this is easy and that's why you picked baseball but didn't you grow up like around where tiger grew up like playing the same courses and stuff like that yeah yeah so um we we played at the same well at the same time obviously but uh heartwell golf course is um you know kind of where i got started

and then playing you know courses like navy and um elder old golf course and Skylinks and all those places, you know, is where he grew up playing. That's incredible. All right. Well, it all worked out pretty good. I mean, you know, getting drafted. It's not the worst gig ever. In the bigs.

Yeah. I want to know what it's like to be a New York Yankee. Being New York Yankee is fun when it's fun. When things are going well. Yeah. When things are going well, man, I mean, you know, you're under the bright lights every single day. whatever you say do are magnified. But, you know, that's kind of what comes with it.

You know, when you're a Yankee, you have to win. Winning is the most important thing there. And, you know, it just, you know, when you're winning, it's fun. I think they've changed it, but you wouldn't be allowed to have that beard right now. No, no, no, you wouldn't even be able to have a little, you know, shadow. You got to be a clean cut, and that's just the way it goes. That's wild. What's the deal with, like, you got to earn, don't you got to earn your pen?

stripes or some or they can take them away or something like that like in you know before the season gets going like some about earn your stripes earn your pin stripes and there's something like if you're like I don't know not living up the expectation where like they take your stripes away for the practice shit or something like that is that a make believe is that a made up is that a made up tail internet's full shit I think so man because I mean you know once once you're on the team you're on the team they can't kind of take it can't just come up there with a Blake white in college like sometimes they won't give them like the logo on the helmet You know what I mean?

Like you get the practice home before you like, I don't know, show that you're whatever part of the team, you know, like you're valuable. I think, I don't know. I think something may be in the Myers that you had to like maybe wear pants up or something. And like you couldn't wear pants down until you got to a certain level. Oh, maybe that's it. But no, I've never, I've never heard about the pinstripe. I got to worry about it. I thought there was something like to take your stripes or some shit.

So batting ninth, Aaron Hicks. Not, I'm not talking about it. I got sticks. I'm not talking during the game. You got a different UD out. Like, like BP or some shit. Like you don't get to wear the same stuff. Just like college where they do with the emblems.

And stuff like that. Were you, like, were you playing golf when you're up in New York? Like, C.C. around then. Like, he's big into it. No. So actually, during the season, I don't play golf at all. I would probably play, I mean, maybe once. But majority of the time, like, you know, I'm on the field every single day.

And the last thing I want to do is go back outside. and be out there for, you know, four or five more hours. So, no, I didn't really play much. I did a lot in the offseason. But that was pretty much the only time I played. Those pitchers, everybody is. Yeah, those pitchers get to enjoy all the good courses. Up there, obviously, Yankees Red Sox is the big rivalry.

What's it like playing in that series? It's fun. It's fun, for sure. You know, being able to, you know, because I mean, you grow up, hearing about it, right? And when you get into it, you really start to see that, you know, the hatred between teams. You know, when you're at home, there's, you know, obviously you're surrounded by a ton of Yankee fans and they have their Red Sox fans there. And it always fights going on. You know, so me being in an outfield, I get to check them out. You know, I'm in the

outfield just like, ooh, ooh, I got a good hook in right there. And then when you go on the road, it's, it's, they're on you. You know, they're on top of you, especially at Fenway. And, you know, they definitely let you know how they feel. Have you had meaner things said to you in Yankee Stadium or in Fenway? Oh, man. I would probably say Finway. Finway is definitely a little bit more, you know, directed to me.

Yeah. I would say, yeah, Fenway for sure. Can you give us one? No, I know. I actually can't. elected to forget that. The Yankees don't anywhere you go. Like there's a lot of,

you get a lot of love in a way game, too, but you're also like the evil empire. Yeah. Everybody wants to root against you. You know, yeah. I mean, you know, yeah, it's tough for sure. Have you ever heard Mark Mulder's story about when he was warming up in the Yankee dugout before the AICS when he played for the A's?

No. So he's out there and he's like, dude, I mean, I guess in the old Yankee Stadium, like the fans were basically on top of you when you were the visitor's bullpen. Yeah. He's out there warming up in this young kid's like, Mr. Molder, Mr. Mulder. And he just keeps pitching. He's like, Mr. Mulder, Mr. Roler, Mr. Roller.

Ruffly turns around. Nine-year-old kid, he's like, fuck you. Yeah. That's that. That's how it is. So good. They grow them up quick out there. That's how they raise them.

That's good. Well, what a soft landing spot. They're like, a lot of guys that get out of their playing career. And it's like, what do I do now? I need some competition. It's been my whole life. And now, boom, pro tour starts up, which you've obviously loved. How nice has I been having that?

Kind of to fill the gap. Yeah, it's been really nice. You know, being able to, you know, that's essentially, you know, what retired players are looking for. You know, we're looking for another clubhouse. We're looking for another hang. We're looking to be with the guys again. And, you know, it's been fun.

It's been fun, especially being able to interact with different players from different sports, you know, and that's been awesome. Yeah, it's such a cool idea. We actually had John Smoltz on the commissioner a few weeks ago. But when you finish it, finish playing. I mean, that's where I think golf is obviously so different as you can play professional golf for a very long time. You want to go to PJ Tour Champions? It doesn't last that long in other sports. And when you train your whole life at something and you're used to having

a routine and get into it and all of a sudden it goes away. It's like what the hell do I do now? And so I feel like this has been such a great landing spot for so many of you guys. Yeah. So I'm out there always asking questions, figuring out just ways to get better. He can teach you how to handle your finances, be really frugal. I'll tell you a little thing called price line. Like, what's the TV and what's the like attendance look like? So we actually just did our first event where it was televised. or, you know, just a website they can go to and kind of watch. And it was pretty cool. The coverage was good.

You know, we did some interviews like post round interviews type stuff and was able to like watch the guys coming in. They were playing behind us on the first day. And it was cool, man. I think it's going to be pretty awesome to see where that goes. Yeah, man, it's been fun to follow along. Can't wait to see that Black Desert. Yeah.

there, Utah. Mm-hmm. Are you, like, nervous coming down on a stretch when a golf tournament, like, compared to your playing days? Does it get it going like that for you? I think it's, I wouldn't say nervous. I just get more fired up. Like, I lost an event in Evermore because, like, my emotions came over me, right?

Because in baseball, you know, if you hit a three-run homer, like, you have a ton of time to, like, come down from that moment, right? But in golf, like if you, you know, you know, make a birdie to kind of, you know, pass a guy or, you know, extend your lead, you know, you get excited or whatever. You have to kind of hone in that energy and go into the next shot because it's like five minutes later, you know what I mean, or three minutes later. And my first time kind of in that kind of situation, I was so hyped up that, like, I didn't even, like, win factor wasn't even a thing in my head. It was just, what's the yard is? I'm just going to swing this club. And I was just like, my hands were just all jittery because I'm so excited about what just happened.

And I actually learned a lot from that moment, you know what I mean? And being able to just calm down and be like, hey, I still got two more holes to go, like just chill. out. It's like you watch, I mean, see like Tiger coming down the stretch. Scotty Sheffler,

like the way they handle adrenaline, it's just so impressive because I mean, they're nervous too. They're pumped up as well, but they just know how to handle that, slow their heart rate down.

Like, I use Justin Rose as an example. Like, that's one of the best ball strikers in the world. And like some of the shots he hit coming down the stretch at Augusta this year

with a chance to win. Yeah. Like, you just don't see. Yeah. Like if it was the Byron Nelson, like he ain't hitting that shot. Yeah.

But it's because it means so much and how those guys are able to control their emotions, their nerves, and the adrenaline is so impressive. Yeah, I mean, just the fact that they're able to do that, you know what I mean, and be so calm in those situations coming down the stretch, knowing that, you know, all they need to do is X, Y, and Z to win this golf tournament. They know what they need and go out and do it. It's pretty cool to watch.

Do you watch a lot of golf, too? I do watch a lot of golf, yeah. All golf all the time. I do, I do. It is funny, too, because, you know, I'll come home. after being away from a tournament and, you know, I'll flip on the golf channel or whatever. And I'd be like, man, golf ain't been on this whole time you've been. It's been so nice.

She's not too dead. When you come home? Yeah. Yeah. And then you go straight from ProTor. You just played grass clippings too. Yeah. You get into your whole fix-in right now.

How'd that go? I really am. Didn't go well first round. Just because it was just, it was so hard. it was it was awesome experience to be able to do that um but I just can't wait for the next one they're fun to play them I played the one in December last year is cool yeah yeah that first night was tricky yeah tricky it was hard to make birdie bad way out there got the bad way me and you me and hicks dude for the marquee guys where you freaking we could show up and play at night the next night you know teeing off and the lights aren't even powered on yet that's tough under the lights i was part of that 1036 first first tea time i don't want that tea time again i want i want i want to i want to play at night with the with the lights on yeah you're able to finish go home take a nap, then they turn the lights on.
