All right, let's get this party started, Slee's.
I had some golf action going on in the world.
Had a little wedding down in Cabo.
Shout out to Taylor Montgomery and his wife, Rachel, for time than not.
Did he write his vows and crayon?
If he walked his straight down the fairways, he did the aisle, he'd be in business.
But, yeah, it was awesome.
He's all wiped up now.
He's all wiped up.
He's all wiped up.
2026 from Taylor.
It was a lot of fun, man.
Taylor, a bunch of the crew was down there, Fern Dog.
We had ourselves a time.
I believe it.
Deamonte.
Got to give some love to Dea
Amante, one of Taylor's sponsors.
Ken Jowdy and his whole crew put on a show, man.
Place is sweet.
Look forward to going back down there.
Played some golf.
Had some drinks.
Watch some people get married and had ourselves time.
And now we're back in America.
Taylor's all grown up.
Man.
Man.
But some serious golf happened around the world.
We had the Grant Thornton Invitational where Lauren Coughlin and Andrew Novak,
won by three.
Set a scoring record, actually.
I'm sure you were dialed into that.
I was locked in.
I actually caught a little bit of day one.
Can't say that I caught much more after that.
Yeah.
I'll be totally honest.
I didn't see a shot.
I saw it.
I was on.
I watched a little bit of it.
Scramble,
a lot of birdies being made by virtually everyone.
So good golfing.
And then shout out Novak.
Look.
In all seriousness.
Could have a monster year.
By the way, Andrew Novak.
He's the team guy.
That's two team wins this year.
True.
Hey, pay attention to that.
Yeah.
A couple years from now.
But Q-School.
Yeah.
It bothers me that QSchool is not what it used to be.
we've talked about this, you know, Harrington's subbed in for you on radio today.
We were talking about some Q school stories.
And it's great.
Like there's five PJ tour cards up for grabs.
There's a lot of stress.
And now that they've changed it to it's a hard five where we're not playing off.
It's five and that's it.
And we had a playoff between Ben Silverman and Dylan Wu for that final PGA tour card.
I could not imagine what it's like finishing there and being like, cool.
So I got this playoff right here.
If I win, I get filet mignon.
If I lose, no disrespect to the corn fairy tour.
You ain't getting that.
It's just, it sucks, man.
That's brutal.
My heart would be going nine million miles an hour.
I watched the replay and I was nervous and I already knew what happened.
I watched the entire basically coverage, all of the final nine.
And just watching those guys come down the stretch, it was like every time I was watching
him hit from a, by the way, there's a lot of water on that golf course.
There's big numbers lurking.
And I was like, every shot these guys are hitting right now is probably the most nervous.
they've ever been in their life.
And you can't say that about many things.
Like, where there's that many guys,
because it was so jammed up for a bit.
There was a time where not everyone had finished
when I was like, dude, if this ended right now,
we'd have like a seven for one.
Seven for two is what it was at one point.
Type playoff.
And I was like, that would be unbelievable.
And the way it shook out, some guys, you know,
stepped up, some guys made some bogies.
It ended up being a two for one.
But I was pretty confident.
I was like, we're going to get a playoff in this thing.
And, dude, I mean,
Dylan Wu would just put it to bed in one hole.
did a great drive down the left side,
challenged the water,
great iron shot in there,
and then the hoop did.
I mean,
by the way,
he made some big putts
coming down the stretch
just to get into that playoff,
like five,
six footers.
Well,
he made a 25 footer for Eagle
on 16.
Yeah,
just to get on the number.
Yeah,
the two clutch parputs.
Yeah,
the two clutch parpots
on 17 and 18,
six footers where you're like,
this is for a tour card,
basically,
or at least a chance at a tour card.
Man, it was,
it was must watch stuff.
But I'm with you,
like,
it's not the same
as it was, but there's 25, but that hard stop at five, that's a different beast.
That was like, you couldn't pry me away from watching that.
Dylan Wu makes a 20-footer on the first playoff hole for Bertie.
Went right in the middle.
He went nuts as he, as he should.
Heading back to the PGA Tour, felt really bad for Camillo Vijegas,
who birdied 14, 15, 16, and 17 to have a chance.
Stoned it.
On 18.
I mean, five feet, but then missed it.
End up missing that playoff by a shot.
but just got to say huge congratulations to AJ Ewert, who is your medalist.
This is a guy.
He's played, I believe, two PGA tour events in his career.
He's never played a Corn Ferry Tour event.
Good.
Just skip that.
And now he's booked his ticket to the PGA Tour.
We teamed up at the Sony Open in 2026.
Adam Svensson, who is a PGA Tour winner.
He's returning.
Alejandro Toasty, who's one of the special characters out there on the PGA tour.
He's fiery man.
Second year in a row, he's had to go to Q school and he's got his card there.
Back to that.
says something about it, dude.
In my opinion, the coolest story.
Marcelo Rozo
from Columbia, 36 years old,
been going at it for 14 years,
has played four PGA tour events
in his career, but just a journeyman.
I mean, was out of the game for over a year
with the wrist injury,
thought about giving it up,
his really good friends with Camilo,
talked to him actually leading up to Q school.
They spent some time practicing and everything,
but just his story, man.
He is a journeyman.
I have no idea how he's going to do out there next year,
but he seems like the nicest guy there is.
He talked about that morning how he cried before he went to the golfers.
He showed up.
Yeah, he was writing like positive notes on the steam in the shower,
just trying to get his mind right, get ready to go.
And his wife came down, surprised him.
I don't think he saw her until after he finished,
them and their little boy, Lorenzo.
But it was really cool to see a lot of his friends and family there afterwards,
waiting on him.
It was emotional.
But you can tell he was cruising all day.
He was playing great.
and 18, you could see the nerves take over there with some guidey shots there on that last
dog.
I mean, if you're not, then you're not human.
I mean, he's waking up.
When you're in tears before you even show up to the golf course, that's why, like, when
you just turn it on and watch, like, oh, I'll watch these last few holes.
Like, you don't realize what these guys are going through mentally.
I mean, it's the longest week in the world.
And this is only four days.
It used to be six.
It comes down to everything.
To see a dude, like, I chased it for a while.
I know guys that have chased it for a long time.
14 years of not making it.
That's, I mean, you got to love the game.
to do that. And I feel like there's one guy off the
Corn Ferry tour, maybe every year, every other
year, guy at Q school that
fits that, you know? So, like,
you have no idea what it'll do next year, but at least he
can say he did it. Absolutely. He got there.
They might stay out there for a while. Who knows?
Congratulations to all five.
Been colds. That was a tough one.
A penalty. God, he was just cruising. Everything looked great.
And then all of a sudden, like, I don't know.
That was an aggressive moving. I was like, dude,
if you're going to punch out, like,
it's probably not going to make a difference.
I would just, you'd think you'd be overly
cautious and that and that just totally derailed them.
Yeah.
Dub there, then another one.
There's always heartbreak, that final stage.
Every single time.
It's, it sucks, man.
But, hey, you're out on the corn freight tour.
You got a chance to get a PGA tour card the next year.
Could be way worse.
Almost another one with Spencer.
Yeah.
Levine.
Was making a move.
A hell of a run.
Played his way in a great spot going on the last day and just, I mean,
final round, dude, one round to go get your card for him to get it back.
Man, it's a monster.
But it was, that was really fun to watch, like, and not be there.
by the way.
Yeah.
Like it was like sweaty hands just watching it.
Yeah.
I mean,
I laughed with Rosa when they,
he had the,
the birdie put from just short of the green.
It was like 40 feet.
And he lagged it up there.
And I love Shane Bacon and ditties.
And,
but it was like four feet.
They're like,
oh,
that was such a great putt from there.
What a great put.
And I was like,
this is four feet.
Oh, dude.
This is super stress.
I'm like,
I know he makes it because I'm watching the replay when I got home.
And I'm like, uh,
I don't like this at all.
It could have been half that.
And I'd be like,
It ain't dead yet.
Silverman made a great one, non-18-2, getting to the playoff.
Excuse me, Spinson.
Yeah.
To stay out of the playoff, made a great one.
There were some guys making some puss.
I was like, dude, that ain't, it may be good on Tuesday, you know, and just knock that in.
But, yeah, hell of a run for those guys.
Congratulations, all five.
Life-changing week for those five right there.
Really cool to see.
Some other golf news going around.
Scotty Schaeffler, one player of the year.
Surprise, surprise.
The fourth straight year, he's won that.
Tiger has the record with five straight.
I don't hate the chance.
If I could bet it on fanatics right now, I probably would.
Yeah, it's probably minus 500.
Yeah.
Yeah, six wins, two majors, what, 17 top tens?
That normally will win it.
20 events, 17 top tens.
That's just the thing that just blows my mind.
Good golfing.
That'll get it done again next year.
If you can duplicate that.
But what a stud, man.
I don't see him slowing down anytime soon.
Our guest coming up here in just a little bit,
actually, is going to make some major predictions for 2026 and see if Scottie,
maybe picks up a couple.
Pedal down.
At all times.
Aldrich Pock Geater
wins rookie of the year.
He got to win
at the Rocket Classic
earlier this year,
so congratulations to him.

I got to start posting a little bit.
Start posting.
Yeah, I'll start posting.
I'm a little lazy with my posting.
But I don't, I've won nothing net in ages.
So playing it plus, played father's son this week with my pop.
Shout out.
We had a great time.
Played at plus four.
We didn't sniff anything.
We did, in fact, though, play with the winners.
Listen to this.
16 handicap, dad, guy.
I can vouch for it.
Real 16.
Starts off the tournament.
Yip Strickler will not need to investigate him.
We will not need to investigate this guy.
We'll personally vouch for his 16 handicap.
Starts off double bogey bogey, three over through two.
Kind of, you know, cruising speed for him.
Turns at 36.
Three natural birdies, four eagles, five Eagles total on the day, one by a thousand.
Yeah, that's gross 36.
36.
Yeah, no, not net 30s.
made three birdies coming home, just doing weird stuff.
It was actually awesome.
I have a feeling they won.
By 100.
Five Eagles will get it done in a stableford.
That's absurd.
Most of the time.
Yeah.
Yeah, four birdies for Eagles and then one naughty.
All right, well, maybe next year.
You and next year.
I got to get up to about eight or nine.
You do?
Yeah.
That'll give us a better chance.
Yeah, I think that might get flagged.
You know a better chance.
I get yip on my ass.
I don't want that.
100% it will.
All right, let's get to our gambling segment of the week.
Brought to you by Fanatic Sportsbook app.
Make sure you go download the sportsbook app and follow along with us.
We lost.
We lost last week.
The box blew it for us early.
Right out of the gate.
Yeah.
In a disgusting loss.
I mean.
But it's to bad.
That would have been three.
That one hurt.
We're going for the trifactor.
All right.
So we got NFL and college this week.
NFL season winding down.
College football playoffs starting up.
Let's get to it here.
Let's start off with the NFL money line parlay.
You're big on the Sunday night game.
49ers.
Indianapolis.
Indie.
They battled.
I mean,
Philip Rivers,
you should be very proud of yourself,
sir,
44 years old going out there,
throwing a touchdown.
The one interception,
doesn't even freaking count,
in my opinion.
It was 18 seconds left.
They had to try to do it.
I thought when they made the 60-yard field
go, I was like,
holy shit,
this could be one of the best stories
in sports right here.
Philip Rivers,
winning a game after five years off.
Yeah,
getting a tub,
through for a tub,
very respectable.
Coming out of nowhere,
44.
You don't like them well enough for them
to be the San Francisco 49ers.
So we're taking the 49ers,
a team coming off a tough loss,
but they are freaking good, man.
And they're going to Baltimore, and they are underdogs.
We like the New England Patriots.
Mike Vrable, you're the man.
Good teams off bad losses.
That's your motto.
I don't know how it works out for you, but occasionally it's a lot.
60% of the time works every time.
And then we're going to take a little flyer.
They're at home, and win or lose, they always get a good crowd.
They always have a home field advantage.
The Atlanta Falcons are not very good.
They're coming out here at Arizona.
We're taking Arizona on the,
money line. So we got the Cardinals, the Patriots, and the 49ers for our three teamer this week.
That's a bold play by us. Car's money line. They haven't got across the finish line in a while.
No, but now is the time. Come on, Coach Gannon. Good news. Our guy, Trey McBride.
But. Stud. Yeah, earning that money. He's good.
Earning it. All right. We decided because it's the holiday season and it's our last episode.
Going to throw a couple college picks at you as well, just to hold you over through the holiday season.
and I'm going to start it off with this one where I think
I think we got a very pissed off team
with everything they've had to deal with
and a team that's pretty damn good
but they're not in Ole Misses
they're not in the same ballpark as these boys
but I think they both can score a lot of points
the total is 56 and I'm going over
in the Tulane Ole Miss game over right there
okay this is going to be interesting with the Tulane
and James Madison games
just to see how this shakes out there could be some tweaking
going on in this
I think the line in the old miss game is like 16 and
half.
Yeah, it's like 17, I think.
Yeah, it's a lot.
There's a couple of huge spread.
I mean, I think the Oregon one's like 21.5.
Neat.
Going to Otson, tough.
That's actually one of the games I have, by the way, because I haven't seen J.M.
You played, read about them, looked up some of their scores.
Apparently, very good defense, very well coached as you would expect, good team.
But going to Otton, different animal, small school, first time on the enormous stage,
expect them to be a little skittish.
I'm going to go under 49 and a half.
I don't think they've seen athletes quite like.
like Oregon, I think it's going to be tough for them, put the ball in the end zone up there.
So under 49.5.
All right.
My next one.
Another extremely difficult place to play.
Kyle Field, we've seen it down there.
They get rowdy down there in College Station.
They're giving up three and a half to Miami.
I think this could be a hell of a game, but I do think with the home field advantage,
the 12th man, as they like to call themselves down there, give me the Aggies minus three and a half.
Actually, I have that one too.
Hot damn, there you go.
Yep.
That's going to be an all-time environment.
Yeah, them coming off a loss too.
Miami, kind of, I don't want to say,
greasing their way in, but last team in, more or less outside JMU.
Lost SMU just in case you forgot.
Yeah, the ponies beat them.
So tough place to play.
I got the Aggies as well.
All right.
Make sure you download the Fanatic Sportsbook app.
Follow along with us.
All right, we mentioned it's the holiday season.
Christmas is just around the corner.
It's our final episode.
So why not give y'all a little early Christmas present?
By far, our most requested.
guest to have back in studio, and he joins us sitting right here in between the two of us.
The Stanley Cup champion, Mike Commodore, on this week's subpar.
All right, what a pleasure.
It is the Triple Champ back in the house.
Stanley Cup champ turned Uber driver turned podcast host over at Clearing the crease.
Check that out if you haven't already.
The fan favorite Mike Commodore joins us.
Season Ender.
How are you, buddy?
I appreciate you guys having me.
Obviously, it's a slow season in golf.
this is my third time, triple time coming here.
Yeah, that's right.
Back by popular demand.
We just thought it's the holiday season.
Christmas is coming up.
What better way?
What better present to give our listeners than to end the year with a Mike Commodore episode.
It's awfully nice.
And for everyone checking it out on YouTube visually, you got a new look since the last time you were hearing.
Yeah.
The mop is back.
Yeah.
Well, I was, the girlfriend was accusing about 10 months ago.
Didn't think I could grow my hair.
So I did that for the first four months.
months or so. And then once I kind of got that far, then I'm like, I kind of figured we'd have this 20-year reunion coming up in Carolina. So I'm like, well, I might as well just let her buck until then. I didn't know when that was going to be until probably six weeks ago. And that just happened. So I should probably get a trim of some kind. Yeah. So let's let the people know because 20 years since I won the Stanley Cup.
Yes. Out in Carolina Hurricanes. Back then you had the hair going. The bathrobe. I told you you just did it so people would actually recognize you when you went back.
But tell us a little about this trip.
That had to be cool to get back with all the guys.
Yeah, it was awesome.
You know, we've had a couple little reunions over the years,
but it's been a while.
And, you know, as years go by, you know,
we have some Europeans on the team.
And not just them, but, you know, guys get jobs,
guys get busy.
Guys are all over the place.
They're all over the, like, basically North America and Europe.
So there was a lot of guys that I hadn't seen.
It was a three-day event.
Unfortunately, so they were, the Keynes were playing.
and the sharks on Sunday. Sharks blew their doors off.
I think they let a goal in like 10 seconds into the game.
But whatever. Cains are good.
And then there was like the entire organization.
So all the old guys and the current guys in front office,
they all went out to eat.
I missed that, unfortunately.
I could not get there Sunday.
So I was up first thing in the morning Monday.
Got there at 3 o'clock.
It was a quick trip for me right on the, right on the gas.
As soon as I landed pretty much.
had to keep it together for a little bit because I went right from the airport,
dropped my bag off.
And we had some,
this was the,
well,
it ended up being fun.
It's always fun once it gets going,
but like I don't really enjoy putting my hockey gear on anymore.
I don't do it much.
Like,
it just gets worse.
It doesn't get better.
But once you're in it,
it's fine.
So we had our rematch against the NC State Wolfpack University team.
I've done,
let's say, probably 40 of these kinds of things.
at least since I retired 11 years ago.
I had not lost a game
until we played the NC State Wolfpack
last year for Eric Stahl's retirement party.
Our Jersey retirement,
they beat us 6'5.
Our goalie, Cam Ward,
who has our goal when we actually played.
He played defense.
He was awful.
They called one penalty in the game.
They called a tripping call
with 10 seconds to go.
No penalties.
They're just a penalty shot.
So with 10 seconds to go in a 5-5 game,
We were up six or five one too.
Yeah.
I mean, it was funny.
It was pretty busy, too.
Like, there was probably half the ring was full, which for pretty good to watch that.
And they called it on Eric Stahl, whose jersey was going to the Rafters the next day.
That's bad form.
Oh, the kid goes in and buries it.
Game over.
What's like the intensity level of that?
Because it's all for fun.
You guys are old, like years our age, like year older.
You got college kids.
Whatever.
Philip Rivers coming back in.
I know.
Yeah, that's true.
He's resetting the bar.
That's true.
The intensity level is like, like, there's no contact.
So, like, you know, those kids know, like, but there's, they're moving.
Don't get me wrong.
Like, they're all in good shape, but like, they're not running us or anything like that.
But like I would say, but when they have the puck and like, like, they're, they're working.
Like, they're definitely playing.
But, you know, the difference from, you know, we're obviously old.
We're way slower.
But, you know, some things come back a little bit.
So, you know, the passing and a little bit where guys are going to be.
You know, guys still have a general idea of that.
But so anyways, it was our revenge game.
So we went back in.
We won this time, 6-3.
The goalie that played decam Ward, went back to his rightful place, playing goal.
He was not thrilled about that because none of those goaltenders like going back to play goal once they're done.
Because it's a lot of, first off, it's the most important position on the ice.
Like, as a defenseman, I can sit there at the alumni game and dog it.
And it really doesn't matter.
As the goalie, if you dog it and you're letting in a million goals,
like you really can't even play the game.
So you have to kind of try and you're going up.
You're down, up, down, sliding across.
I'm sure his groins and stuff aren't with the use to be hip flexors.
Yeah.
But in saying that, he played great.
We won 6'3.
And then went back to the bar for Monday night.
I mean, Monday night in Raleigh with bad weather.
There was not much going on.
And then Tuesday was the big celebration, which was fun.
So, you know, some of the guys that were there Sunday
Couldn't make it Tuesday and the other way.
So with the little thing, the cup was there for all three days.
So we went on the ice before.
They played a little video, a little cheer,
then back up to the suites and smash some drinks.
And the canes came through.
It was the Mike Commodore Bowl,
the Carolina Hurricanes versus the Columbus Blue Jackals.
Oh, my God.
They should have honored you individually before that thing.
Oh, yeah.
I'm sure Columbus would have been dying to do that.
They just stopped paying me.
So I'm sure.
They were thrilled to see me.
But anyways, it was a good game.
Cains won.
So, yeah, it was great.
It was good to go back.
And, you know, as years go by, like you said, you know, some of those guys,
I might not, you know, he might not see him again.
So whether you just, they're in Europe or whatever, and life happens.
Did we light the lamp?
Did you score?
No.
No, and I got, I'll be honest.
I mean, I never could score.
I scored in the game where we lost.
I opened up the scoring early.
And I'm not making excuses.
I'm not very good.
anymore.
And I'm not making excuses,
but I should have,
I was falling all over the ice in the third period.
I,
I haven't had my,
I can't remember the last time I had my skate sharpened.
I'm like,
ah, whatever.
And then I got out there and I was missing an entire edge.
So I'm like,
you know what?
I think less is more out here.
So I didn't like push it or anything.
I tip nice and easy.
Played really tight deep.
Although I do think I got other three goals against.
I'm pretty sure I was an ice for two of them.
Okay.
One of them was for sure my fault.
For sure.
How was the wizard?
Wiz was good.
Wiz was shaky last year because Ray,
I don't think it skated in years.
Here in Phoenix,
we have a coyote's alumni skate once a week.
Goes from like maybe October 1st
until maybe the end of April.
Every week at Mullet Arena,
Ray, I had never seen them there before once.
And then now the roles were kind of reversed.
I wasn't able to make it at all this year, not yet.
And I see we get the email and I saw Witt or Wizz.
on the email a lot saying I'm in.
So Ray put a little work in.
He was good.
Nice.
Yeah, he redeemed himself.
Good to see him back on the ice.
Yes.
I thought I retired him about five years ago.
Yeah,
you couldn't see him shake that off.
I think that was the last time he had a skates on.
Yeah.
I don't think he skated from that point.
Neither have I.
I mean,
maybe he put him on to stand on the ice,
but I don't,
I know he,
I don't think he'd play the game.
Maybe one game in Tucson,
but whatever, not much.
He's still sick out there.
My favorite part is that is he was just so unintimidated.
He's like,
I don't even need pads.
I don't need helmet.
Also a little scared.
And you're going to take a run at him.
And he's like, come on.
Yeah.
I've talked myself into like all the bad things that could happen.
Like if I lowered my head and hit him wrong and like, you know, I was like Googling has any hockey player ever been paralyzed and all this shit?
I felt like I was going a hundred when I went into him too.
And then I saw the video.
I was like, God.
We replayed it.
He's like, no, can y'all put it in real speed?
I'm like, that is real speed.
They had that shit up to make me look slow.
I was flying.
I do remember that.
He moved.
His foot.
Foot moved.
Oh, yes.
Technically a loss.
Yeah.
I'll let you guys take care of that one.
We're running back again.
We're going to step aside from Mike Commodore for a second and tell you about Folds of Honor.
Every day, our military and first responders put themselves on the line to protect us, our communities, and our country.
When strategy tracks for them, it's our turn to step up.
Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to their families, and they need your help to make that happen.
When you give monthly, you're telling these families their sacrifice,
is not forgotten.
Become a monthly donor at folds of honor.org
and help ensure their sacrifice is met with hope.
Absolutely incredible organization.
I've been within last several years.
They are fantastic.
Please go help if you can.
Now back to Mike Commodore.
So you went from there to Aspen for a little Colorado Avalanche Alumni.
First of all,
this whole alumni thing is kind of bullshit
because you just,
you go play for every team.
I do, yeah.
You never once played for the Avalanche.
No, not even close.
I mean, there's a couple times.
I think a couple teams can see.
Picking me up or trading for me now that I've heard now that I'm done.
Colorado was never even on the radar.
They, no, nothing.
But there are, well, a lot, you know, the on ice thing is one thing, but you need people to fill spots.
And the off ice is a part of these things, too.
And so I'm pretty, I'm not getting invited back for my skating ability, but I'm not scared
to have a good time in the evening, so they're happy to have me back.
But yeah, so it came back Tuesday night in Raleigh.
So I was there for like 36 hours, fly back here, Wednesday, following more.
fly to Aspen.
We went out that night.
It's for the Colorado Extreme
Brian Burrard runs that they're trying to do
like an academy thing there in the Aspen area.
First time going was last year.
Last year we got our doors blown off
by the Aves alumni.
I can't even remember what the final score was,
but I think it might have been like 15 to 2.
We never had the puck.
They covered.
Oh, big time.
They had like a legit lineup.
And we had like older guys
and like some Instagram influencer.
Like we didn't have the puck.
And they just pile it on
and like an exhibition.
Like run it up.
There was a couple of guys like I don't want to say names.
These guys are they seem like nice guys.
I never get like pissed off at these.
It's a fun game.
Yeah.
But like when I say we didn't have the puck,
we didn't have the puck.
This game is over.
And I don't know if you remember the name Milan Hedu.
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
Excellent player.
Well, yeah, Colorado.
Actually, yeah.
So he skates all.
the time. And he was out there flying around. He whipped around me and fired one. I don't know if it
was the 14th goal and the 15th, whatever it was. And I was like, don't do anything stupid. I mean,
it's a charity thing. But I'm like, okay, this game. If it's a close game, like, all good. I know
you guys want to win. It's a Colorado thing. Like, I get it. It's 14 to 2. I think you could probably
just shoot it from the outside. But whatever. We had a way better team this year. A lot more guys. A bunch of
guys had just retired. Our goaltending duo was Lundquist actually came back, which when I saw him,
I'm like, I can't believe you're here. And he's like, well, why? I'm like, because he had a hundred
shots on you last year. Like, at least half of them were grade A. And he just laughed. But we had him
and Mark Andre Fleury who just retired. Yeah. Still managed to lose. I didn't see the third period.
We had like eight or nine defensemen, people playing D. The bench was packed. So I went out there for one
shift. A nice little shift didn't do a whole lot. It was out there. I call it like maybe 30, 40 seconds
maximum. And then I came off and I'm squeezing myself into the box. And I stood there for a minute
and I'm like, you know what? There isn't a person at this game that is here to see Mike Commodore
play hockey. So I just tapped Brian Barraud, who is running the thing. I go, hey, I go, I'm scratching
myself. He's like, really? I go, you know what? We got plenty of guys here. I'm good right here. Whenever we go
in, I'm going to take my shit off, and I'm good to go.
He goes, that's a good idea.
I'm going to do the exact same thing.
So he played a few more shifts.
I did not watch the rest of the game.
Good time.
Went out that night.
I think raised a lot of money for charity or for the academy and whatever else they're
doing with it.
So good time.
Back yesterday.
Healthy scratch.
Like Babcock.
Saw y'all gave Babcock a shout out, actually, in Aspen.
Yeah.
Their love still burns deep.
I repost.
I mean, I'm trying to, I understand.
It's the first thing when I went.
I went there, I get there, first person I run into at the bar, Babs, and in the back of my head, I'm like, God damn, I'm like, I can't.
What's that like?
I mean, it's totally fine with it.
You know, hey, what happened?
And I'm like, oh, you know, I got a short version of his story and it depends.
Wait, so he was there?
No, no, no, no.
People come up and ask.
Oh, God, dude.
I thought you said you were right into him.
No, no, no, no, no.
He's not invited to anything.
Drop glow.
Okay, yeah.
I couldn't believe.
No, no, just people asking about it.
Yeah.
Which is fine, whatever.
And so, yeah, answered a few questions about that.
And then, yes, the last night we were kind of in that little club downstairs,
wherever it was startling or something.
And yeah, that was, I did not order that just so people know.
I did not have F. Babcock on the thing.
It was very funny.
People seemed to enjoy it.
I did laugh.
People seemed to enjoy it.
Had a few tequila and called it a trip.
Welcome back.
You've been going hard.
Physically.
Yeah.
Last week has been pretty tough.
I was at a couple of, I've been going pretty good here, traveling around two.
for the last couple of weeks.
So I've been looking forward to today for a while because now I'm dumb.
Right before that big event for you,
looped at the grass clippings.
Oh, that's right.
Yeah.
I went right from there to Carolina.
Pro jock.
How'd that go?
How'd you like your time at the clip?
He was an excellent caddy, first off.
Of course, vibes guy.
Thank you.
Colt, first off, I had a great time.
And, you know, obviously anybody watches this knows I'm a big fan of golf.
And I messaged Colt after it was done.
Like, for me doing that, I know for you guys, it's a fun thing.
It's a par three.
you're having a few drinks.
Like, I totally get it.
But for me, like, it's fun sitting there and watch Colt hit the ball or Harrington or any of you guys hit the ball.
It doesn't matter who it is.
I know it's like, you know, for a little money.
And, you know, first day of there, we were with the Ruffles who ended up winning.
Yeah.
You know, that was fun to watch too.
But, yeah, I had a blast that the caddying experience was good.
You showed up with a nice light bag.
Yep.
Which was nice.
Even took some clubs out.
Yeah, you got about eight clubs.
Makes it nice.
Took some clubs out.
Had the one head cover in there, never used it.
Just in case.
Just in case.
I can't go anywhere without Gary.
Yeah, it's fair.
There was that one and one hole.
If there was some win.
Number nine,
possibly,
that first day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like 205.
Yeah.
A little chilly.
Five iron.
Yeah,
no big deal.
But yeah,
it was incredibly fun.
I had a good time.
A couple of cocktails.
And yeah,
you guys got off to,
wasn't a great start.
Oh, slow.
Yeah.
One GIR in the first four.
Yeah,
we had a lot of fringe as well.
Yeah,
all fringes.
We putted everyone.
Yeah.
There was no chipping.
You guys didn't chip one, did you?
No.
If you'd chip in that, something's gone wrong.
Yeah, yeah.
Terribly wrong.
That was kind of what, that was kind of what sunk you guys.
Well, the start.
And we finished strong the first day.
Yes, finish really strong.
And then you guys had those two opportunities on eight, nine,
and that one on the back.
Yeah.
Pretty good looks at Bertie.
Maybe, I guess he would have needed to make.
Got hot there at the turn, right after the fireball shot.
Yeah, real hot.
Fireball shot got us going.
There was a little excitement there for a little while where it was like,
I thought we were like kind of in range, maybe.
So it was fun.
It gets jammed up because, I mean, so many teams in part three scramble.
Like it condenses, like the skill set.
You know what I mean?
But like 20, they shot Gabby and Ryan shot 21 under.
I think 21 the last one.
36 holes, you're not just flicking sand wedges.
No, I mean, you hit some shot.
Like, there's no, you can't go make four or five pars in a row.
Or it's like, you're kind of, you just have to go crazy the rest of the way.
Slick was showing me the other caddy Harrington's caddy in the group.
We would have been on maybe 14 or 15.
The ruffles there, because the front was way harder than the back, right?
Yeah. Mm-hmm.
The ruffles birdied, like, eight of the first nine holes.
We played with them.
They buried seven.
We were seven.
You were seven?
Oh, geez, I didn't know that.
We buried seven of the first eight and never, they teed off before us on the first hole.
We never had the T-box.
And then they made one more.
Yeah.
Yeah, they were, it was a joke.
Gabby putting.
Holy God.
And Ryan was hitting most of the shots.
Before we get back to Kami, a quick note from Century.
In golf and business insurance alike,
excellence depends on the right partnerships.
That's why Century doesn't just sell policies.
They build relationships.
Like a trusted caddy, Centri's expert asks the right questions, listen carefully, and
craft plans tailored to your business's unique insurance needs.
Century, right by you.
Now, back to Comey.
What'd you think, though, just to Grassley?
Had you gone to any that were here before?
I went to this exact same event last year, but I didn't, I went straight to, you
The rocks vodka tent.
Yeah.
So I didn't.
You can imagine you guys.
The well vodka.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The well vodka is right.
You can imagine how that one I didn't see my, like I saw some guys hit
a few shots, but I didn't see any of them.
That was my first time.
I've never played the course.
That was my first time like seeing every hole.
I didn't see any of the holes except for just literally 18 and the T shot on one.
You stay for Midland or any of that?
Or Big X the plug?
You feel like a big X the plug guy.
You know what?
I think you'd like you.
Interesting crowd walking around there day two.
for Big X the plug.
Yeah,
different.
Grow the game.
We were growing
the shit out of the game.
Yeah,
yeah,
definitely.
There was definitely
a different crew
there.
That was interesting.
Uh,
well,
I think Midland teed off
and we still had like,
oh,
we were,
sorry,
Midland started their concert.
Yeah,
we had a couple holes left.
Yeah,
they were going.
A few.
Yeah,
because,
well,
the opening ceremony.
You know,
that could,
that was like the Olympic ceremony.
The flyover was a little delayed.
Yeah.
Flight was like 437 out of Omaha.
It was,
I would say, and we were laughing about it, and I've never, well, I guess I co-chaired the Calgary,
but it's not that Calgary Flames Alumni Golf Tournament.
But I would say if there was one thing that I saw that could be adjusted is the opening ceremony,
welcoming every team and going out to the green and like doing a damn, whatever you want to call what that was,
that could probably get either severely shortened or chopped completely.
I go for chop.
Colt was really looking forward to going out there and do.
dancing, dude. He couldn't. He's like, dude, I'm about to take all the whole show.
There was no heads up. Like, we're going to have everyone out here parade out here.
I thought they were just recognizing the chance from last year because that's what they start with.
Yeah, I don't know. And then, or maybe do that. Yeah. And then I was like, we all got to go. Yeah.
We all got to go. I was looking at Harrington. I was like, what the fuck are you about to do?
Yeah. Oh, yeah. We're going to look like the work was not into. No. No. It wasn't
happened. We don't have a lot of dancers on our squad. No. I'll tell you one of the funniest parts was before we even started. So I kind of
kind of lost Comey for a second.
I went to the clubhouse.
I would make my way to over to the green where the opening ceremony is.
And I walk up and I said, there's our whole squad.
There's commie.
He's like, bad news, boss.
I already lost the towel.
We haven't started.
No, no.
I was horrified too because I'm like, I really, and I know I know Colt doesn't care.
But I'm like, man, I really would like to do a good job.
Like I don't want to be handing them dirty wedges.
And, you know, it's not like I got much to do here.
Clean the ball if he needed what he rarely needed.
make sure the grooves are clean and keep up.
Like, that's not that hard.
And just stay out of the way and shut up.
Although I wish you guys would have called me at once.
I'll talk with that, but yes.
So I had the towel on top of the bag,
and somebody started talking to me right before this ceremony.
And as I turned, it must have fell off.
And then I took the bag off.
I'm like, oh, shit, the towel's gone.
But it wasn't a, it was exactly where it fell off.
So I was back in two minutes.
And yes, the only time I wanted to say,
I'm not going to tell,
Colt knows and Scott Harrington anything about golf.
But the one, it was, I think it was nine?
Eight.
Eight.
They had a kind of a downhill pot.
A little slick for sure, 10, 12 feet, somewhere in there?
No, most, yeah.
Okay.
It was a good look.
Yeah, it was a real good look.
And I watched, I was, you know, I'd staying out of the way, but I was watching.
And I thought the pup was like, after seeing Scott's, Scott rolled it.
And I thought it was like left center.
I thought if anything was going to go a little bit to the right.
and then I heard them talking
and they had agreed on right edge I think
and I'm like I almost
I was like this close I should say something
I should say something because I'm like there's no way
that put's right edge and sure enough cold
hit it right on the right edge missed it right
that's like part of the catting
like when do I when do I try to do you actually want
my opinion and I know especially when you're
not like a golfer like I'd be like hey cold
then he turns around tells me to shut off
hey idiots that's a horrible read yeah
and then if it breaks them if they had a red right
you look like an asshole nice
like you I got the levels perfect there
the back nine the second day you were rolling it online
if I would have told you left center and and you rolled it
well I'd had to listen to you first true you should have chimed in
don't ever feel it had been great yeah I know if I could do it over again I would have
I should have said something but yeah I was like uh huh just know your roll
shut up but it was a blast man we had so much fun thank you very much for having me
anytime you know we I haven't told you this yet I said it on radio today but
John Malinger's part owner
of our Hollywood hitters that I played for
and we love to bust his balls
give him a hard time how we're the Oakland days
of the league and everything
and the last night because the Cowboys
lost here I get a text from
John to me and Martin Flores
you guys suck skull or something like that
he's like and Martin's like I don't know why we're so bad
and I was like I do we're just like the Hollywood hitters
we're loaded with talent and just got shitty ownership
no management
we're exactly like them
I will say just from the outside
looking in compared to the other groups.
I mean, could they tee up with a,
just look a little bit like a team?
You know what I mean?
John?
The uniform problem?
John?
Was this the bad news bears?
This is a real operation.
A couple of bags can't be that big of a deal, I wouldn't think?
Get them up.
Wasn't it the mighty ducks when they came out?
They just dumped all this equipment all over the ground.
There you go.
Just all this shit.
Grab whatever.
Here we are.
I will say, speaking of management,
controlling your talent,
I did hear from a very reliable source.
Few of the hitters may have found their way to
an after our spot with Mr. Plug. Big X, that is.
Oh.
I'm trying to figure out who that was.
Yeah.
You need to find out.
We're at grapevine singing karaoke.
He wasn't there.
Big X.
The plug was not there.
This was a different type of a club.
Very friendly.
I think our California friends on the Hollywood hitters had a good time.
I don't know what they did, but I know they had a good time Friday.
So yeah.
Yeah.
It was a fun trip.
They didn't sell themselves short.
No, we had it.
From what I heard.
Mm-mm.
What they were saying in the caddy.
room.
The cat's where you get all the scoop, by the way.
You playing it all?
How's your game?
Let's get a little update.
Let's get a little update on Mike Kamenor.
Well, I had a massive gear change.
Everybody's interested.
Okay, let's hear.
Yeah, nothing against COBRA.
I know you're a cobra guy.
Bites your tongue.
Yep, no.
Equipment is great.
More money for you.
Best in the game.
Can't influence everybody.
Yeah, they give you clarity.
God.
Damn.
They hooked you up.
I'm out now.
But I switched it up.
It was time for some new clubs because my irons were all beat up from
from hitting half of my shots.
outside of the desert.
So they get a little beat up, especially the wedges.
I'm like, I got to spend some money.
So, you know, when you're old and not great at golf,
you've got to look for the odd deal.
And through the NHL alumni,
we do get a few deals with different golf clubs or golf manufacturers.
The manufacturers, sorry.
But the best one actually by far is with Ping.
And Ping is right here, right down the road.
So, yeah,
The deal was great.
I'm like, you know what?
So you get like the players experience.
You know, I thought I was Victor Hovlin walking.
They probably outside too.
Give you a nice ping glove.
And so I went out and hit some balls.
It was a great experience first off.
But yeah, made some changes.
So got whatever the, I don't even look, but the new driver, I made a couple of little adjustments.
I'm actually one club short.
I don't know what else.
I should put a little chipper in there or something.
Like, you know, putter maybe.
Ping has one.
Fourwood.
Your fourwood's dialed.
I got one of those.
We got one of those.
We got to talk about the forward in a second.
Okay, yeah.
The forward's still there.
Although it's taken a little bit to get the ping, it comes off that.
I might put the cobra forward back in the bag just to putt with.
That's what I should.
Oh, yeah.
The chipping, like off the green.
It's like 40 yards and in.
Oh, it's, okay, yeah.
Yeah, it's not just off.
Like wedge play.
If there ain't a bunker in the, in between, my first instinct is grab that forward.
It's pretty sad.
You're a purest.
Yes.
I got rid of the three and four iron.
I was hitting some balls.
The guy's like, what do you think you're three and four iron?
I'm like, about the same as the rest of the clubs.
He's like, okay, he goes, did you hit many greens?
I go with what?
It's like the three or four iron?
I go, no.
He goes, when do you use them?
I'm like, I basically use the three iron when my woods are off the planet,
I can usually at least like chunk that thing moving forward or like, you know,
from the distance I play, I can keep it.
I hit that far enough to stay in the mix.
And it does go in the bush, but not as often.
And he's like, what do you think about a nine wood?
Get rid of the three and four iron.
And I'm like, it's fine.
He goes, you don't care about another head cover in your bag?
I'm like, hey, I don't care how many head covers are in the bag.
If I can hit him, perfect.
So I got this nine wood now.
So he dialed me in at the range when I hit a good one, which I actually hit a fair number of good ones for me.
It was, this is 2,000 feet elevation.
He did it like Whisper Rock in 90 degrees.
He put it into the computer or whatever.
Yeah, bump that temp up.
Yeah, yeah.
I was hitting it between 230 and 235,
and he told me it was landing like a wedge.
Hell yeah.
Yeah, I'm like, sold.
So I've used it a little bit.
It's been pretty good.
I think the thing, I hit those,
I haven't played great,
but I do like the,
I mean, I hammer that four.
I think that forward goes further than the other.
Well, it's newer equipment,
so I'm sure it does a little bit, but,
yeah, but I got to get out there and play more.
games okay i would say anything coming up any sort of events uh no events i was going to do the bad
sound of this friday but i've got a friend of mine jesse booleries the fighter when i was in carolina
and my roommate there oh yeah he's tough now a financial advisor for morgan stanley wow that's quite
the if you don't get that's quite the career shift if you don't keep your money with me i'll
put you shit out of here's it underneath all you guys said so i'm gonna break your face if you were to
go online and google him and watch his highlight videos now if you know what you know
him, he's smart.
Like, and so I knew him, but let's say you don't know him and you just Google him and
watch his videos.
And somebody said, yeah, he's a financial advisor now.
You'd probably be like, for who?
But he's doing really well.
He's a great dude.
He is incredibly smart.
So he's coming out for a kid's hockey tournament or some this weekend.
So I'm going to play a couple times with him.
Obviously, if you guys are welcome to join.
Who's the guy?
You played with him in Columbus.
Reminds me of Neeler, big fighter as well.
He was in Columbus?
Yeah.
Jody Shelley?
No.
Jared Bull.
We said he's daughter than Neeler.
He's best boys with Neeler.
I can't believe I didn't say Jared Bull first.
I actually, yeah, he's a member at
Muirfield.
Yeah.
In Columbus.
I didn't know if these were the same two guys that were coming in town,
but never mind.
Bull.
I saw Bull actually, Jared Bowell is an assistant coach
for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
And they were nice enough to have me.
They just played the Hurricanes and I was there
and I was up at 7 in the morning
because that's usually when they take the dogs out to shit.
So I was up and I'm,
like Jared messaged me, so I went and hung out with the coaches for the morning.
But yeah, he's doing good.
I still got to take him up on that, well, from what I hear about the golf course, I don't
know if I should, but I got to take him up on that Mirfield.
There's so much good golf up there.
They're really good.
Mirfield's awesome.
It is.
That 9-wood will be getting used up there.
Up there.
Yeah, I do have to go.
He's invited me pretty much every year, so I do need to go.
I've been to the Memorial Tournament.
That was a highlight of being in Columbus.
I went there every
I got kicked out halfway through my third year.
I didn't go that year.
No, no, no, no, none of the, not of the tournament.
Oh, you got kicked out of the tournament.
I got kicked out of the team.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, no, no, I didn't get kicked out of the memorial.
I went the first, my first two full years in Columbus, I went to the memorial.
It was awesome.
I tell people all the time, they don't believe me.
I was like, as far as like, they're like, where's the best ones?
As far as like scenery and everything, I was like, Columbus, Ohio.
I don't know what the hell is going on.
Yeah.
During the memorial, it is special.
Yeah, it's awesome.
I would say it's like for people in my opinion,
for tournaments that I've been,
it's like this one,
but just like just way less people.
Yeah.
It's still busy.
It's not as rowdy.
It's not as rowdy as this one here.
But it feels like a big term.
It is a big tournament.
And the golf course is sweet.
Yeah, and people are having like house parties all over the place.
Yeah, it's in a great.
And they're redoing the bogey in right now,
which is the spot you go to after.
Yeah, yeah.
They're redoing it.
Yeah, it was closed last year, I believe.
they're revamping it a little bit.
I have read some stories from,
I'm sure you guys have heard him too about
Nicholas or some of the people that, Jack, Nicholas,
or some of the people that live on the golf course.
You ever heard any of that?
What?
Well, like, somebody told me,
like, I have no way to confirm it,
but, like, definitely, it's a part,
like, it's a fun tournament for sure.
But I don't, maybe it was Bowler that told me,
I don't know, but whoever was having a house party
at whatever house it was on the golf course,
there must have been having, like,
maybe a little bit too much fun or was a little bit loud.
Jack didn't like that.
And Jack went and told somebody there, whoever it was.
And apparently whatever he was coming back his way,
he didn't like that very much.
And I think by the time the next tournament rolled around,
he had planted three giant trees so they couldn't see the course anymore.
Beautiful.
Yeah.
I have no idea if that's true.
But I like that.
I hope it's true.
That's the beauty of the golf course.
Yeah, that's right.
You want to be an asshole to me?
I'll show you.
You no longer have a golf course view.
That's good.

Now, back to Mac Commodore.
By the way, sorry,
just since we're on golf. I mean,
we did win our very big match recently
against Chris Demon and Ben Marsh. We did. We had a little
redeeming to do.
They played good, but we still got them.
Yeah, you played great, which was good to see because, you know, I don't want to bring up.
No, you can.
Yeah, oh, I know you can.
I know you don't care.
You know, you are an excellent golfer.
There's no question, but I, not that, I don't think I'd beat you.
I think I might have lost you by one, but that day two at Shadow Creek against Martian
demon.
It felt like day three.
Yeah.
I, I, it was.
It was bad.
I never thought I'd have to carry the mail.
little bit. Now, we lost anyways. I didn't do good enough, but I think we were 82.
Yeah, it was bad. Free pass that shot. I've said this a million times. I literally probably shot
the highest scores I've ever shot my life. Really? Just because it's when do you go there and you're
like, I haven't been, you know, like, you're on death march every time and it's a hard golf,
you know, it can be a hard golf course. I was feeling great. I just, my equilibrium was a little
off. Yeah, dude. Your start to that round was a trojan. I remember walking. I'm like, man, I was
keep it. I'm like, I can't be the A player. I'm like, this cannot be.
For the first five, six holes, I think we were, like my score was the one that counted.
Like, or most of it, and then that's obviously we were down, we're probably down four by then.
It was over. Yeah, the match was over by then. So you made amends.
Made amends, yeah. We got them back. We'll have to do it again. What a shadow Creek, though.
I was just down in Cabo, Taylor, Monty's son, got married. Yeah. How about that?
How about that? Because I ran into you guys. I came to meet you guys. I came to meet you guys.
Well, sort of.
There was a group of us, too.
At dinner, it seemed like a very reserved crew.
How was the wedding?
The wedding was fantastic.
Okay.
Yes, we had a very good crew down at the wedding.
Okay.
It was good.
There was a lot of golf, a lot of drinking.
Okay.
Did an awesome job.
I'll tell you a great Monty line from the trip.
Okay.
Oh, yeah.
Obviously, down in Cabo, Mexico, they speak Spanish.
I've heard that.
We're playing Diomante.
It's like the sixth hole,
and Monty hits it in the right wash,
has a little trouble.
Hits his put up there, tap him.
I was like, was that five?
Monty? He goes, yep, quattro.
I was like, you can't make this shit up.
I was like, Monty, because I go, that's four.
He goes, oh, shit, Cinco, the next one.
I'm going to say, I speak zero Spanish.
I speak a little French, and even I know quattro.
Yeah, dude, it was just all the time.
Oh, that's good.
It was a great crew.
We had a good time down there.
Good, good.
Good golf.
De Monte is awesome.
We played Cheleno Bay.
Is there, let's get back to Chileo Bay.
I meant to ask you this before we started.
So I went there on a golf trip two years ago.
Actually, almost to the day.
Two years ago with Jeremy Ronek.
We stayed right there.
At the time, there was two 18s,
but they were telling me a plan to build a third.
At Diomante.
At Diomante.
They're building the third.
Right now it's going to be called the Legacy Club.
Okay.
Very exclusive, the Legacy Club is going to be.
I asked the guy who, J.R. was friends with him or whatever,
with one of the guys that runs the place,
and they said they were going to try and make it
the Shadow Creek of Mexico.
That's the plan.
Okay.
So that's still the plan?
Yeah, I was supposed to drive.
Ken Jowdy,
shout out to him.
He's the owner of Diamante.
I was supposed to ride around with him Sunday morning.
I committed to this Saturday night during the wedding.
Sunday morning,
I was going to go before my flight to take a tour of the golf course that's getting built.
And I said, hey, Ken, how about I come down another time?
Send me a little Google mouse shot of this bad boy.
We'll figure it out.
A little cross-eyed.
We'll figure that.
Cool place.
It is cool.
It's the property is huge.
Yeah.
But there's space for another 18.
Yeah.
So they've got two 18s now at the Legacy Club come and they have a short course.
I mean, there's the Nobu.
Short course?
Yeah.
Is that done now?
Yeah.
Okay.
I don't think that was there.
Nobu hotel.
Okay.
It's.
Cabo's nuts.
Yeah.
Nuts right now.
There's a lot of them.
A lot of good ones.
Yeah.
Chalano though.
Chalano has now the North and the South course.
South you have to play with a member.
So we play the North.
Which one?
was first. I believe the north.
The north course. Okay. Okay. Great track.
It was fun. I played it for
Teddy Purcell's Bachelor Party. We went out there
with a few former, well, and current L.A. Kings.
It was really, from what I
remember, it was very fun.
But like if you were hitting the ball well, you could torch
like, because you cut some corner. A couple par fours are
short, short. It's a cool track. Yeah. It's perfect
for that. Discovery. You know,
drinking, gambling, having a good time.
You played Cobble without soul.
No, that's the one everybody says.
It doesn't get all the hype as the other ones because everyone talks about Eldo and
Chalano and stuff.
It's,
it might be the best golf course down there.
That's what I played.
Yeah.
It's fun.
And they got this little like beach club right when you get done with eight.
It's awesome.
I'm okay with Cabo.
I like it all time.
It's an hour and 40 minute flight from Phoenix.
Yeah, it's close.
The shadow of Cabo sounds like an intriguing.
That's what I said.
When he said that, he wasn't, you know, I was part of a group on my eyebrow, you
because the Colt have been nice enough to take me out there a few times.
And I think Shadow Creek is awesome.
It's a great, I think it's a great golf course and an awesome experience.
So when he said that, I was like, oh, okay.
That's a lofty goal.
Before we get out of here, since you are a hockey player,
you kind of know what you're talking about on your podcast clearing the crease.
I mean, sometimes.
I haven't been following a ton.
Yeah.
But I know my Dallas stars are very good.
The best two teams in the league fans are sitting in this room.
Yeah.
Sorry.
Colorado, Dallas.
Let's go.
That'd be something special.
Well, the problem is.
We probably got to play each other
in the first round of the playoffs.
That's the problem.
I think we were talking about it today
on the podcast.
So in and not,
there's a, the Eastern Conference
is a catastrophe kind of.
I think from the,
I think Tampa's in first,
call it 39 points.
Last place is 32nd.
Oh, wow.
So it's just all rammed up.
The Western Conference
is a completely different story.
The Central Division,
the Pacific Division,
isn't that great. So like Anaheim's leading that. They're doing well. The Oilers are starting to come. The flames aren't very good. The sharks are better. But the best teams in the league, in my opinion, well, in anybody's opinion for sure, the top two. Colorado has only lost, they're about 30 games into the year now. Colorado has only lost two games in regulation. So they're on like record point pace here. And then so you would think they would, you only lose two. You would think you'd be leading your division by about 20 points.
But Dallas is returning serves, so to speak.
They're only maybe three, four back, something like that.
Dallas is excellent.
And then I think pointwise, Carolina might be the third best team in the league.
But then also to stick with that central division,
Minnesota just made a huge trade two days ago for Quinn Hughes out of Vancouver.
Saw y'all talking about that.
Yeah, one of the better defensemen in the league.
But yeah, to your point, they don't have it set up for anybody used to be,
let's say in the Western Conference, for instance, it'd be, you know,
whoever finishes in first is in first, and whoever's in eighth is an eighth,
and one plays eight, two plays seven, three, six, and so on.
Now they have it kind of split up, so you were finished,
so there's the central division.
So Colorado or either Colorado or Dallas is winning that thing.
It would be just shocked if it wasn't.
So let's say it finishes like it is to now.
So Colorado is the best place, they're at first,
so they would place somebody further down,
but two and three play each other.
So as of right now, that means Dallas would play Minnesota in the first round.
Why don't they do that?
That doesn't seem to make it.
I don't know.
Why would the second team get pimped like that and have to play the third?
I don't know.
It's a good question.
People are starting to get Crosby set a little bit where they're like,
hey, because, yeah, you can have an excellent team.
Yeah.
It happens.
So there's seven play.
Well, it's the wild card thing.
So it's like the top three, so they split it in half.
So in the Western Conference, it's the Central Division.
and the Pacific.
So then two and three play each other
from each one of those.
And then I think first place would play
the second wild card.
So there's eight teams that make it.
So three, three, that's six.
And then there's two wild card spots
that can come from either division.
So that finishing first is a big deal.
Yeah.
Compared to second or third.
Yeah, yeah.
Because technically you're playing the worst team
in the conference.
So it should be interesting.
Yeah.
All right.
Give me a Stanley Cup champ.
And then I didn't tell you this because I just thought of it.
Where have you picked the four major winners of 2026?
Oh, God.
Boy.
Check yourself.
I got no more out of that.
Scottie, Scotty, Scotty, Scotty, Scotty, Scotty.
That's a good, that's easy.
Okay.
Stanley Cup champ, who we got.
Well, God.
Might as well.
I'd be.
It's pretty tough not taking Colorado right now.
Okay.
I'll go to, I won't think, anyone will keep it simple.
I'll go with Colorado.
The Masters.
I've put zero thought into this,
and I do when it comes around tournament time.
That's how we do it, too, and we pick.
Okay.
Well, I mean, let's just get it out of the way early.
I'll go with Schaeffler.
Okay.
We're heading to the PJ Championship.
Philadelphia, Aronimic.
Okay, heard of it.
I've never seen any of it.
Nice you tune in.
And that's the PGA.
Mm-hmm.
I mean, I'll just go with whatever name pops in my head first.
Xander.
Zander.
Okay.
Going to get his second PJ championship.
This is going to be incredible if he gets one of these right and he had no prep or anything.
Zero prep.
U.S.
Open, Shinnock, Scotty Shephler going for the Career Grand Slam on his birthday that Sunday.
And it's also Father's Day.
Okay.
I mean, he's a good pick at all of them, obviously.
Yeah, you just go forward those.
Can I pick him again?
Sure.
You can pick what, yeah.
God, I'd like to switch it up.
He won two majors this year.
That's, from what I remember is Shinnecock, that's supposed to, wasn't it the last time they played there?
Wasn't it the last time they played there?
Wasn't when Phil, Phil,
kept putting his ball when it wouldn't start.
Brooks,
well,
Brooks beat Tommy Fleetwood by his shot,
I believe.
Okay.
Fleetwood's nice up there.
He's nice everywhere.
I don't want to keep picking the same guy,
but if it is his birthday career,
Grant Slam,
I'll go Schephler again.
Okay.
I don't want to do that,
but I got it,
Zander, Scotty.
Okay.
Open championship.
Royal Burkdale, I believe.
Yeah.
It's going to be a Lynx course.
I played Burkdale.
Don't remember a lot.
A lot of whiskey.
Yeah,
you know how to play links.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, I mean, I played them.
Let's go.
I mean, I'll just go with chalk since I did no prep.
I'll fire Rory in there.
Interesting.
Okay.
I just went with the first place in my mind.
It was like if you were going to win a major, it'd be an open just because you're on the ground.
You got that four wood from 40 yards.
Just got to be able to get in that green area a little quicker, though.
Yeah.
The nine wood doesn't do much good over there.
No, and I start skying my driver over there.
Look out.
Yeah, leave the nine wood at home.
I have to get that three.
When you go back over.
Yeah.
Get that little.
A little soup that thing up a little sweetheart back at the bag.
We love you more than anything.
I love coming on here.
Yeah, when we're going to, what kind of hairstyle are we going to go with you think?
How much we're going to take off?
Can you throw that?
Well, that's the thing.
Pick it up?
Yeah, it'll stand up.
So back the last time I did this, it was no problem.
Now it doesn't stand up like it used to.
It's kind of straight.
Maybe a little product.
Just slide a little something in there.
Yeah, I don't know what I'm going to do with it.
Because at any time, I mean, those don't know, I would grow it out every year
that I was a pro and in college,
and I would just grow it out
until the end of the year,
and it was always just a big afro.
And then I would just shave it off.
So the only thing I've ever done is shave it off.
But I feel like I should try some,
even if I look stupid for a day,
I mean, I can always go cut it.
I don't know.
What's called a Mohawk?
I've done a Mohawk before.
Like a short on the top Mohawk.
Yeah, like a stylish.
I have done that one.
That was a long time ago.
Yeah.
I could do a couple things, really.
Or just let it keep going.
Good.
Man bun.
Guy like you.
Yeah, I don't know.
Some of my buddies might be a little weird if I start rolling up.
I don't think that's going to go over too long.
Steven Segal.
Comey, your beauty, man.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
That's our Christmas presents, you all.
All right.
Back for a third time.
That was Mike Commodore on subpar.
The man never disappoints.
I mean, I feel like anywhere we ever go,
hey, dude, you know which one I really like?
That Mike Commodore.
Even if they don't know shit about hockey,
don't know anything about anything.
They know they love him.
He's the best for always coming in here.
Always fun.
You never know what we're going to talk about.
I did mean to bring up, and I can't believe I forgot,
that he's taking self-defense classes.
Yeah.
Right now.
Got to be careful out there on the streets.
The career enforcer that just beat heads in for 20 years.
Like, you know what I need now that I'm out of the game?
Self-defense.
I was like, dude, if commie needs self-defense classes,
the rest of us are screwed.
Well, it's just in case he runs back into that golden gloves boxer
that knocked the shit out of him in the NHL back in the day.
Or those boys over in Russia.
Yeah, the rush.
He could have used that self-defense.
Defense class, we was getting jumped by the KGB.
I'll tell you that right now.
But I was like, dude, if Kami needs self-defense, like, name one person who would try to start
some shit with Kami at a bar or something.
I'm not, when he came out to Kadi for us, people are like, holy shit, dude, your caddy's
like big.
Yeah, step in my line one time.
Yeah, see what happens, dude.
See what happens.
Yeah.
Play out of turn once.
I dare you.
Yeah, but dude, love it, man.
He's so much fun.
I mean, catty, Uber driver, Stanley Cup champ.
Does it all.
Now he's got the flowing locks, too.
Kind of hope he keeps him.
Yeah.
Pick that thing up.
And you said it, and I say it all the time.
I mean, I'm walking down the fairways out there every week.
The amount of subpar yells I get are just are awesome, but there's so many.
Can we get Comey on monthly?
Can we get him on quarterly?
Wednesday coming back.
We got to have him back.
Same thing.
Verbatim had this guy yelled to me.
He goes, Colt, I don't know shit about hockey, but I love my common.
Yeah.
100%.
He's always welcome back.
It's all the time.
And as it's our last episode of the year, what a year it's been, A, but B, thank you
all the listeners out there.
It's been great.
You mentioned you get the shoutouts
when you're out there.
