You got to be a son bitch out there on the golf course.
You got to have that dog in you.
And you got to have that killer instinct.
And Scotty Sheffler's got that.
You see it.
He's so competitive.
He's one of the most competitive people I've ever met.
And I don't know why we didn't show this the next day because I thought it was awesome.
I think it shows Scotty being a little funny, but also how much he believes in himself.
But Amanda just simply asked him, heading into Sunday, what's the winning score going to be?
And he said, whatever I shoot?
And I was like, hell yeah.
What are you going to say?
I mean, hell yeah.
You're cocky.
Like, no, dude, he knows it.
They know it.
Everyone else knows it.
Vegas knows it.
I mean, it's true.
He's on it over and over again.
I mean, and look what, I mean, he's down.
He ends up winning by three.
It looks like it wasn't even close.
All right, here we go.
Welcome back to Subpar with Colt Nost and Drew Stoltz.
What a way to finish off the PGA tour season where Scotty Schaeffler does it again.
His third win of the season, 22nd of his career.
But before we get to that, Sleeves, football season.
is back.
And it's also over for some of us.
Well, we'll get to that.
But we have a new sponsor.
We can't wait to show you all this new product.
I want to introduce you to upbeat sound.
If you're watching on YouTube, you can see it right here.
This beautiful screen right here, okay?
Eight-inch touchscreen.
Massive sound.
You can stream sports, music, YouTube podcast, whatever you want.
By the way, it's a little hot here in Arizona most of the year.
Worryed about maybe it overheating.
Not upbeat sound.
They tested it in a 200-degree oven.
to make sure this thing lasts through the heat.
That's about what it is here right now.
Does it all.
And also the best part about this little thing, please,
what I want to get to is this little contraption right here.
You see?
You connect this to the bar off your steering wheel on your golf cart,
put the little TV mount on there,
and bam, you are watching football as you're out there
hitting seeds on the golf course, gambling,
drinking with the boys.
Don't miss a snap.
It's coming at the perfect time.
I actually debuted this bad boy.
It was week zero in college football.
I debuted. It's easy as hell to set up. I'm not the greatest guy with technology.
It literally is just like what you said. Clip it on, clip it on your wheel. Boom, you're live.
It works just like an Android phone, but you can do carplay too. So I just did it on carplay,
pulled it up on my phone. Bam, it shows up on the screen. The only negative was every time
that I'd go putt and come back to the cart and check in, TCU is doing some more stupid shit
and mess with me a little bit mentally. But the thing is a dude, perfect for football season.
You want to play golf. It's weekend, but you also don't want to miss.
all the games.
Absolutely.
You don't have to carry the phone around and all that stuff.
It's the volume, whatever you want.
You can play music and do all the other stuff too.
But for me, right now, this is strictly football watching scenario with the fellas.
And everyone gets to enjoy it too.
Pop over to the cart, check it out, bam.
Sound quality is phenomenal, as I mentioned, waterproof, which is really big for us.
It takes 30 seconds to mount onto the steering wheel right there, and you are watching football
and playing golf all day long.
And we're going to give you a great deal right here.
If you go to UpbeatSound.co, that's dot co, and use code subpar 10, you're going to get 10% off your entire order.
You can get the screen, the mount, travel case, a little remote to carry around with you out there.
So maybe if your team pisses you off, you can change the channel while you're over there putting.
It would be nice.
But check it out.
This thing is awesome, and it is perfect for football season.
Yep.
Perfect time right now.
Check that out.
Get one for yourself.
Get one for your boys.
Everybody wins.
All right.
10% off, use code subpar 10% off your entire order at upbeatsound.com.
All right, let's get to it.
Scotty Sheffler.
The man is machine.
It is just so impressive to watch.
He is just a man amongst boys.
Goes out there, three-shot deficit heading into Sunday at the Tour Championship.
I saw he was like 4 to 1 to win, by the way, being three shots down.
And he's not chasing some scrubs.
He's chasing Victor Hovlin, who's a beast around East Lake.
Ryan Gerard, who's making a name for himself.
he goes out there sick par on one it's a five iron to two inches on two and i was like this thing's
probably over right here and at the end of the day he uh he cruises to a three shot victory
victor hovlin had his struggles on sunday really struggled off the tea getting the ball on the
fairway had a chance coming down the stretch but scotty was just too much man uh he does it again
it puts to bed the player of the year debate in my opinion this scotty sheffler is going to win for
the fifth consecutive time which will tie tiger woods record for most of the first
consecutive player of the year titles. Yeah, and there's like all the Tiger comps are going around there.
Shout out Kyle Porter putting out some good stuff. He did. He broke down Tiger's, uh, 28 to 30 year,
what he did during that run when he was 28 to 30 and Scotty, uh, who's doing that right now.
Um, and it's like virtually identical. And that was Tiger during like one of the most dominant
runs that he's had. Like he's the only guy really that you can start pulling stats and comping it
too. Like it's really just getting hard to come up with new stuff. What do you say about the guy? He just
wears you down. Where's you down? Where's you down?
Victor Hovlin in his post game was like,
look, like Scotty just goes out there,
hits the shots you're supposed to hit,
doesn't mess up, doesn't go backwards,
and the rest of us just puke on ourselves.
He's like, that's what happened.
But he makes it look really easy.
Like everyone else is good too,
but you wrap up the season,
like you mentioned,
player of the year,
that's done.
I thought it would have been really interesting
going in if Wyndham could have worked his way in,
or even if the season had ended,
if last week had been, you know,
the end of the season.
I think you could have made an argument for Wyndham.
Chris Goderup worked his way in there too,
which I was like,
like, all right, well, he pulls this thing out.
Like, now of a sudden we got, like, a real discussion on that.
But probably ended the way that it should have.
He's the most dominant player in golf we've seen since Tiger.
What is it?
The difference between he and Rory and the world golf rankings is larger than the difference
between Rory and the next person ranked.
The biggest bum in the world golf rankings.
Anyone that's ever gotten a point for one top 20 on a small tour, that's the difference.
I mean, he could take next year off and be world number one.
It's just his good golf, no one beats him, and his bad golf, hardly anyone beats him.
hardly anyone beats him.
He shows up to compete, whether it's at Rolloaks Country Club,
playing Hammer Wolf with the boys,
or on the PGA tour or major championship.
He shows up to compete every day,
and that's what I respect about him so much,
among a lot of other things.
But going back to the Kyle Porter stats,
like he threw some great ones out there.
In his last 100 events on the PGA tour,
he obviously has 22 wins.
He has 58 top five.
The guy doesn't play bad.
That percentage.
right there is just ridiculous.
I've never seen anything like it other than Tiger Woods,
but to put yourself in there week after week after week
and just never have, look, you play this game for a living.
I play this game for a living.
There's days you show up.
You feel like shit.
Your body hurts.
Maybe something's going on off the golf course.
You're distracted and you're like, I don't want to be here.
And you kind of just go through the motions.
You go out there, you play bad, and you call it a week.
Scotty Sheffler does not do that.
I know he missed the cut at the Scottish Open.
I'll give that one a pass
just because you're traveling to a different time zone
traveling across,
it's a long flight over to Scotland
to play over there.
And you have to go all the way back
to the 2023 U.S. Open,
where he finished 54th or whatever
after winning a Memorial the week before
on basically a major championship venue.
That's going back to 2023.
You pick out two weeks where it's like,
yeah, he didn't have it.
It was okay, yeah.
It wasn't like it was some sort of disaster.
Just listen to Rory.
talk about like this week, like his comments like, look, I'm getting older.
I don't necessarily want to be out here all the time to your point.
Like some weeks you just don't want to be there.
He just don't have it.
Roy's like, look, I feel like I showed up to some events this year that I didn't want to be there,
but I felt like I needed to be there.
He saw some pretty, you know, Memphis stood out to me.
It's like, I can't believe he's here.
I think probably someone talked to him and said, you're going to be here for that.
But he's like, look, I played three weeks in a row.
I'll probably never do that ever again.
Like, it sounds like a guy that, you know, gears up for the majors and everything else.
Doesn't really matter that much.
And that'd be easy for Scotty to do.
It's like, what else are you chasing?
Like, we already know you're the best.
You win the most.
You never seem to play bad.
Like, it's just chasing majors now.
But, like, he's not wired like that.
And if you look back at, like, a tiger or Phil or some of these other guys that have had, you know, been the best player in the game or thereabouts for a while, like, dude, he has no off the course, like issues or distractions.
Or like, not to say you can just scale this out.
Hey, he's done it for four or five years now.
He's going to do it for the next 10.
I don't think you can do that.
Injuries happen.
Life happens.
Things happen.
But I don't see any of it being, like, self-inflicted off-the-course stuff.
The guys made more money than God.
And, like, he has none of the, none of the things that tempt a lot of the, like,
world-class players in all sports are tempting to Scotty.
And that's, like, I feel like you don't find many guys like that.
He's a killer.
Well, we talk about all these guys.
I mean, you got to be a, you got to be a son bitch out there on the golf course.
You got, you got to have that dog in you.
And you got to have that killer instinct.
And Scotty Sheffler's got that.
You see it.
He's so competitive.
He's one of the most competitive people I've ever met.
And I really wish we would have aired this.
I have no idea why we didn't.
But obviously, we were out at 7 p.m. local time there on Saturday.
Victor Hovlin in the final pairing there comes off the green interviews with Amanda.
Well, before that, Scotty Sheffler sat down with Amanda,
do a little interview, but we didn't get to air it on the CBS window because we ran out of time.
And I don't know why we didn't show this the next day because I thought it was awesome.
I think it shows Scotty being a little funny, but also how much he believes
in himself. But Amanda just simply asked him, heading into Sunday, what's the winning score
going to be? And he said, whatever I shoot. I was like, hell yeah. What are you going to say?
I mean, hell yeah. You're cocky. Like, no, dude, he knows it. They know it. Everyone else knows it.
Vegas knows it. I mean, it's true. He's on it over and over again. I mean, and look what, I mean,
he's down. He ends up winning by three. It looks like it wasn't even close, which it really
wasn't and he wins by eight in Memphis like he wins and he just beats people into the ground and
I don't think he was like anything different than he's been all year this this week it wasn't
anything like stood out just like oh my god I can't believe he's doing that it's just ho-hum same thing
he just picks you apart gradually over the course of four days never plays bad and you add it up at
the end and it's I mean it's yeah it's it's not a fair fight the comment reminds me of this
great story under dan marley told on here about his first time his rookie season going up against
Larry Bird and he's guarding Larry in the corner and Larry says to one of Thunder's teammates.
I can't remember who it was, but he's like, hey, you're a rookie right here. I'm about to cross
him over. Take him left, go back right, pull it up right in his face and bury it and it's like,
Jesus, you don't have to say it and then bam, bam, bam, it does it right there. I'm like,
shit, that is going. Larry was a dog like that. He did that a bunch. Some sound from Michael Jordan
just came out recently and he's like, all you people that think y'all know trash talking.
You ain't heard trash talking to you heard Larry Bird back in his prime.
And he was not, and he backed it up, too.
But that's, I mean.
By the way, that's actually kind of a-
I'm saying that's pretty cool, by the way.
Like, whatever I shoot, you can say, oh, it's arrogant,
with cocky, whatever.
But, like, you have to think like that,
and it's, by the way, it's true.
But you think of, like, Larry Birdie's a quiet guy.
Obviously, one of the best to ever do it.
Killer on the court.
It's a lot like Scotty Sheffler.
Yeah, Scottie's just, like,
I think people misconstrue, like, his, how calm he is in interviews.
And he doesn't, he never talks about himself.
He's never, like, complimentary to him.
you like downplays everything very humble to they confuse that with like maybe not having that
killer like a tiger or something like that not that tiger went in there and pumped his own tires but
like you could just kind of see it in the way that he played Kobe you could like see it like that's a
killer like this guy doesn't have the appearance in like the i don't know like charisma was not the
right word but he doesn't like talk like that you know what i mean he downplays all of his stuff
but when he gets out there like he wants to rip your heart out and like there's so many weeks like
you said where you could just like, dude, if he's not in the hunt, like you don't feel like
he's going to win going in the last day or something, just go through the motions and be done
out there, but he doesn't. Like, he fights and claws for like every shot. Same way Tiger did,
even when he wasn't in the hunt. Like, it'd be so easy for him to just pack it in occasionally
out there when he doesn't have it. But he doesn't. I mean, that's why, I mean, and he never
finishes outside the top 10, basically. Like I said, he takes every time, every time he tees it up,
anything that is competitive, I mean, he takes it very serious. And he's going to leave no stone unturned.
playing Hammer Wolf at Roll Oaks.
He's going to show up, you know, 45 minutes before, do his routine, get his grip trainer,
hit a few balls, and then go out there and beat the shit out of everybody.
That's what he does.
Yeah.
He's like, hey, why are you going to celebrate?
What are you going to do?
Take a couple days off and then be back out there.
Yeah, get back to work.
He doesn't care.
That's what I'm saying.
Like, none of this stuff, like, I'm going to Vegas and I'm going to send it for the next few weeks.
No, dude, he doesn't, like, none of that moves a needle for him.
I thought he learned a lot from me.
Apparently he didn't.
He didn't learn how to celebrate.
Beer.
Oh, well, well, deserve beer.
I was like, oh my God.
So did I.
Let your hair down a little,
43.
Fella.
Yeah, I made another cut.
Yeah, why not?
Exactly.
But he's a different breed, dude.
He is, and it's special to watch.
I don't know if we appreciate him enough,
but I'm so pumped for him.
Like I said, I've obviously known him forever.
Did you see, speaking?
I mean, he is, he's got some cockiness to him,
as you should.
You're the best in the world.
But we did a little video for CBS where I was miced up
going on the range and the putting green and all that.
And first person I see when I'm doing it is,
is Scotty and him and Teddy are sitting there.
And Gary Woodland told me the week before, he goes,
I've mentioned on here that before Memphis,
Scotty went out and shot 60 at Rollo v. Country Club
and part of the last three holes.
And I did not know that the day before was Greenskeeper Revenge Day,
which a lot of people I don't know that is.
That's why I set it up really difficult.
And Gary goes, God, he shot 65 on Greenskeeper Revenge Day.
And so he walks up, I was like,
do you really shoot 65 on Greenskeeper Revenge Day?
He goes, yeah, I didn't put very well.
I was like, perfect.
You're such a dick.
But a kidding way.
But that was, it shows you, man.
He's going.
He ain't slowing down anytime soon.
He is by far the best player of the world.
And like you said, every other dude that teased it up against him knows it.
Yeah.
And he's in it right now.
That's rare in sports.
Normally, like, after you retire, people heap the praise on you.
He's doing it right now.
And they all know it.
And they know their way around it.
Also, congratulations to Ted Scott on a good year.
Wonder where he shook out on the money list.
Hi.
Hi.
So there's actually this, it's like a pro pro member member down at Calusa Pines in Florida in December.
And when I walked on the putting ground on Saturday, he goes, hey, how do you feel about being my partner,
Calyso Pines and the pro pro member member?
I'm like, that's kind of sweet, actually.
I feel like that'd be a little different than teaming up with Waggoo.
At least our nighttime activity.
You don't think they approach it the same way?
I was like, are you going to send the jet for me or do I have to like fly a commercial?
Yeah, over here and then we'll go there.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, I'll pick you up on the way back.
another guy like with all the success i mean teddy's out there and he is just not changed one bit he's
the nicest dude there is uh he loves going to work i mean i'd love going to work too if my boss
has pretty easy right it's exactly where you tell them every single time yeah but uh there's such
a great team man but it was it was an awesome season on the pj two i know we still have some fall events
left yeah which is very important for a lot of guys but the main season is over and as it should be
scotty sheffler is going to be your player of the year he's the winner of the fedex cup for the
second time um but it was awesome man it was great season
had great major championships, great signature events.
I'm very much looking forward to the changes that are coming to the PGA tour in 2028.
But I thought all in all, man, it was an awesome season.
My first season in the Super Tower.
Yeah, well done.
Trevor and Frank.
Well done.
It was awesome being up there with those guys, not sweating, which was nice.
It's actually freaking cold up there.
But it was cool, man.
Learned a lot this year.
Looking forward to running it all back in 2027, off until the end of January.
Yeah, it's a nice stretch.
Five-month break.
Very nice stretch.
Time to tap in.
member guest season around the corner.
Before we talk about like the main stories, players of the year, surprises, disappoints,
all that stuff.
Speaking of the broadcast, shout out to Wagyu on putting a bow on the end of the season
for the shot recreation.
What a way to go out.
Straight ankle bider across the green, which I thought was awesome because I was like,
that's perfect.
That's about what we all expected.
This is why it's fun.
I mean, it just hit it in the middle of the forehead, by the way.
But then you sent it to me.
And then it came out on like Twitter later.
There's two shots prior to that.
And I was like, where are these?
These are all time.
He hit three shots.
One of them went eight inches.
One of them went zero.
He literally whipped the chip, hit before it, bounced over it, and then the bone.
But they showed on TV.
I was like, dude, this is, we need, I'm sad that it's gone.
Is it bad when, like, your best take is a skull fuck across the screen?
And he's like, I'm going to hit a little checker up there to let it release and it was just,
that top spin.
I wasn't out there.
This happened early in the morning on Sunday.
So Saturday night we had our final dinner as a team and everything because we're all going different ways now.
The season's over.
And so we had a few and all this.
And I was trying to get Wagyu to stay out and have a couple with me.
He's like, no, I got to go to bed.
I got to get up early and hit these shots.
And I ride in with Frank Nobalo the next day, get there.
And I walk in our tight and everybody's like, have you seen these chip shots?
I'm like, what are you talking about?
I kind of forgot that he was even doing him.
He's like, go in Sellers office right now, ask him to show you Wagyu's chip shots on 18.
And I'm like, oh my God.
What happened?
The whiff is special.
That's Zoya grass.
I know it's tight.
Got it.
Zoyja is also the dream condition.
It is a little tight back there.
As I said, I don't think the lie was the only thing.
It wasn't like wet Bermuda, dead Bermuda.
Like, this is, I told you this, as lush as it gets.
On our serious X-M show, we played Peach Tree.
Shout out, Peach Tree Golf Club, Bobby Jones.
I mean, this place.
I've heard about it.
I mean, it's top 30 in the country every single year.
and it is gust alike.
Bobby Jones obviously did it.
And we had ourselves a time out there.
Don Perno, head golf professional.
He is what a head golf professional should be.
He is a beauty.
You would love him to Sliz.
Legend played with us two days in a row out there.
And we had a time.
But back to Wagu.
Our last hole on Friday out there,
he came up short of the green,
had like 10 yards before it got to the green,
coming off Zoisia as well,
like seven yards of green to work with.
And he had this beautiful little floater in there,
took a couple of bounces,
just checked, went up there to a foot, tap it in.
No big deal.
I was like, all right, it's getting better.
And then this happened.
Let him back.
And if you're having any issues with the chipper,
I don't think the way to get over it mentally is like to come out with a camera behind you.
And be like, this is going to be broadcast to the whole golf world.
And you haven't warmed up or do anything.
Now hit us a couple little clips from here.
It's not the best way to deal with if you got any sort of stress with the chipper.
But like when we played in Charlotte with him, he chipped in twice on the back nine.
And I was like, oh, dude, you're fixed.
you got over it.
Like, you've cured it.
And then I don't, the, the whiff, that's one.
The whip chips all time.
I don't know how you, like, mentally, how long does that take?
I know about top three woods and things like that.
And the next time you get over one, you're thinking, like, I was like, well, the last
one I hit went zero yards.
A whiff chip has to stay with you for a while, I would think.
But also put those, we want to see that.
Speaking as a viewer.
Yeah, but it's, I want to see, like the skull was, was, is what it is.
The whiff, a little embarrassing for a three-time winner on.
the PGA tour. But it's awesome, too. But I walked into the trailer and I'm like, after I saw the
video, I'm like, what the hell happened? He goes, dude, I didn't sleep last night. I'm like,
what, what are you talking about? You went to bed at 9 o'clock? He goes, no, I was so nervous
about these chip shots. I couldn't sleep last night. I'm like, good God, dude.
Dude, this is why though people love Wagyu. Everyone loves it because like you ride that roller
coast. You see the ups and downs. But also, it's like, dude, we all know, you're a three-time
winner on tour. Like, you had an unbelievable. This doesn't, people don't see that.
be like, oh, he wasn't any good.
There's not a lot of people.
You don't have to protect your rep.
It's like you're done playing.
You're supposed to get worse.
This is why I think people like it because you were world class at one point.
You were winning on the PJ Tour.
Now you hit chips that don't move.
And that's fun.
There's not a lot of people.
That's something everyone can get by.
Not a lot of people that have won three times on the PGA tour.
There's also not a lot of people that can whiff a fucking chip.
If you lined up all 30 dudes and showed him that, be like recreate that.
You got to take a real motion and try to whip.
I don't think they can even accomplish it.
It's hard to do.
But by God.
We love you, Wagyu.
Keep it up.
The perfect ending.
The knife was great in itself.
But I didn't know about the other two until after the fact.
And I was like, these are gold.
Year one in the books for Waggoo as well.
It was a lot of fun having it part of the team, man.
It was awesome.
Not just because I beat the shit out of you every single Friday.
That was a great part of it.
Not helping your chances for the Zurich when these leaked whiff chips get out.
Like, these guys need a spot.
Well, I'm just telling you.
We got a little something on our side.
Mr. Jim Furik, the Ryder Cup.
Captain might have sent Steve Worthy, the Zurich Classic Termin Director,
a little video message saying he needs to take a look at us heading into Ireland.
Send him the clips of the shipping.
We got to delete the chipping.
Here's what you'll get, which would be gold, by the way.
That would be my people tune in.
He's got a long time to tighten it up, by the way.
He said he's going to lose 30 pounds and get his golf game ready.
Which is more probable.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah.
Yep.
Yeah.
Love you, Wagu.
The best.
22 events for CBS.
this year. It's over. We had a hell of a run. We just did, I believe, 18 of 21 weekends. We were on
a run. But shout out to the crew at CBS. Everyone behind the scenes. The whole team, best in the
business, had a blast. It was cool. Sad, it's like, I'm very excited for the break, but I feel like in a
month, I'm going to be like, I'm ready to call some golf again. You ready to travel again?
Yeah. No, not after last night. I'm not ready to try. I know you had a monster coming back.
I walked in my door at 3 a.m. Phoenix time, 6 a.m. Eastern coming from Atlanta when I was supposed to land at 845 local time.
After driving home in an Uber from Tucson, which is always, that's the most director out.
Redirected to Tucson to land because of a storm. Apparently, our plane was too big to go to any of the gates at Tucson International Airport.
They could not figure out how to get us off the plane until finally they found some stairs that actually worked and had to escort us from the plane down the.
runway into the terminal because, you know, PSA and safety and all that stuff, you're not
really supposed to be walking down a runway, I don't think, not 200 people. And yeah, led to a
$300 Uber from Tucson to Phoenix to get my car at the airport and drive home. A lot of people
are like, why didn't they just refuel and wait the storm out? Well, just so happened to be that
our pilot and crew timed out and they could not work anymore. So we could not finish off the
12-minute flight from Tucson to Phoenix. Nope. Can't
Risk it. Safety first, buddy.
That, Sleys has been doing this a long time.
I had Joe Scoverin. Joe Griner, also on the flight.
We travel nonstop doing this job.
And that, I think, is number one as far as shittiest situation.
Sitting on a runway in Tucson, Arizona for two and a half hours, and they can't give you
an answer of like.
People normally handle that well, though.
Yeah.
People are normally very calm and level-headed in those scenarios.
The lady that sat next to me was really taking it well.
She only talked to the captain 12.
They need to start handing out free booze at that time.
It was.
It was.
Just kind of numb everybody down.
But glad you're back.
Glad you're back safe.
Season's over.
Well done to you.
Well done to everybody in the booth over there on the broadcast at CBS.
We're going to get to like the main storylines here.
Yeah.
BG of the 26th season.
A little recap here.
But first note from our folks over at Nutraful.
If the hat's becoming less of a golf accessory and more of an everyday necessity,
it might be time to talk about Nutraful.
Neutreful takes a different approach to hair growth by targeting the root.

NSF certified for sport.
Hell yeah.
So you don't come up on any drug tests.
When you show up looking like freaking Julius Irving.
You know one thing I just learned, by the way, speaking about drug tests?
So this needs to change, by the way.
This is just absurd.
And I don't even know how it ever really worked.
but it is against the rules for players on the PGA tour
to take an IV during a tournament
unless it's a medical emergency.
I'm like Memphis, it's 103 with 112 heat index.
That seems like an emergency to me.
I'm going to take an IV at the end of the day.
But apparently they think you can like dilute your sample.
There's a lot of shit.
I mean, that's stupid.
It doesn't make sense.
Hey, I'm dehydrated shit.
I'm about to pass out.
I'm seeing stars.
Don't even think about taking some fluids.
by God.
That's the good news about
neutral.
You can take it all day
and not have to worry about it.
Well,
I'm going to let you...
To get into some big storylines.
I'm going to let you handle this part.
Obviously,
my travel situation
kind of affected my preparation.
We're going to go through.
You're the host right now.
Surprises,
disappoints,
rookie of the year.
I think we got Player of the Year
figured out.
And at the end of this,
by the way,
we're debuting a new segment.
This is very exciting.
The hotline,
which was live for the first time
this past week,
we got some calls.
We're going to listen to calls.
Go over the questions.
and this is going to be fun.
It's going to be very exciting.
Thank you for all the people that did call in.
Yes, this is going to be a fun segment going forward.
All right, we'll just start it off here.
Let's just hit like the big ones.
Player of the Year, to bed.
I'll go with Scott.
Officially to bet.
Although it was nice to have like,
we're going to East Lake and it wasn't decided yet.
Dude, when up Clark goes out,
even if he, like, just beat Scott.
If he was like close and Scotty was further,
like I would have been,
I would is going to lean heavily and I'd do it for any players.
This isn't biased.
I just think majors need to be.
waited so much more because ultimately that's the way your career is evaluated at the end.
I wait. Maybe I wait them like more than I should, but I would have had a real discussion if you
take East Lake out of the question going into that between Wyndham and Scottie.
I think it would have been a close vote. I just think, as I've said before, the difference is
the players are voting and not the fans. The fans just look, oh, who won the most? Which tournaments did
they win? The players are like, I know he's only won twice. This was Scottie Sheffler before yesterday.
I know he's only one twice.
He got five runner-up.
He never plays bad.
I mean, he finishes top ten every single week.
They respect that so much.
And when you look at, if you get a little deeper into it, I mean, scoring average,
strokes gained all those stats.
I mean, he's number one and everything.
I got a list of it here of everything he finished the season with.
You want to hear him?
It's a bunch.
I'll just leave out of scoring average money.
Got it.
Strokes gained total.
Strokes gained T to Green.
Top fives, top tens, top 20s.
25s, scrambling, putting from outside 25 feet.
That's a surprise.
Birdie average and bogey avoidance.
Pretty much if you lead in both of those,
probably going to be the best player in golf.
Greens and Rag and round four scoring.
Yeah, I mean, pretty much all the shit that matters.
So Justin Ray sent me this one a couple weeks ago,
I believe in Memphis when he was leading.
With the lead or the co-lead, nobody is better.
Nobody makes more birdies and nobody makes less bogeys with the lead than Scottie Schaeffer.
I'm like, yeah, that's why he's won 22.
times his last hundred starts.
Yeah.
Forget round.
Look at the end of the season and the same guy leads in birdies made and bogey avoidance,
unless he's making quads.
Birdie's good, bogey's bad.
Harness good,
lockback.
You got it.
Although,
like,
I agree with you.
I think Scotty would have won it.
I think it would have been somewhat close.
Like,
there's guys out there that were putting out,
like Justin Thomas,
Kevin Kisner were like,
look,
I'd give it to wind him right now.
So I think it would have been a discussion.
Clearly it's dead now,
but I think it was a real discussion going into that.
Yeah.
He's going to win for the fifth time,
time Tiger's streak,
Tiger's record streak of five in a row.
I was,
like,
we put the graphic up there on CBS going into Eastlaker.
It was,
we had six guys on there for player of the year.
It was Wyndham,
Scottie,
Chris Godderup,
Matt Fitzpatrick,
Cam Young and Roy McElroy.
Yeah.
And Goderup had a chance.
I think whoever would have won the tour championship
probably would have won that.
I mean,
if Godderup wins,
it'd be hard to say,
no,
he's got the most wins of anybody on the PJ Tour.
He would have double the amount of wins
of Scotty Sheffler if he happened to win,
but he didn't so give the trophy to Scotty
yeah I think it's all to bed now
and probably shook out
the way that it should
with the dominant player in the world
winning player of the year all right
give me um
rookie of the year
uh Alex Fitzpatrick
gotta be right
what a story who's it like who else
Chris Wrighton
Chris Raitton
yeah it would be in the maze up there he won
I think it was basically between those two
gotta be made the tour championship
but Fitz also I know the win was with his brother
Chris Raidon did with a signature event
at Coil Hollow
the truest championship.
But I think just the feel-good story
of having nothing.
Short amount of time. Yeah.
Coming over here, getting the win with his brother
playing really well.
I know he didn't win anymore, but he played really well.
Had a chance in Charlotte.
And just finished it off.
Great.
Ended up finishing that in that massive tie for fourth
at the third championship.
Made another $1.7 million.
Yeah, the fact that when they won with Fitz
and the narrative was like,
oh, his brother gifted him a PJ tour.
The fact that he came out and played good right away,
like a Doral, Charlotte,
like right off the bat,
in signature.
events too. It wasn't like they were secondary events was huge for him. And I was like personally,
I knew he was a good player. He probably would have been a rookie coming on to the PJ tour this year.
He'd stayed over. He was in good shape on the DP World Tour points list. But damn, he was a lot
better than I thought. Looking at his stats, I was like one of the best drivers for the ball on tour
since he came out. Alex Fitzpatrick? His short game is disgusting. Yeah, his short game was
filth. Yeah. Phil, too. So yeah, he's probably, that one's probably inked. His life got way
better in 2026. You think? Yeah. Budget went up a little bit. All right. Give me like surprise players,
breakout players, or it doesn't even have to be breakout. Like, could have been someone who's been good
previously quieter and then played well. Someone who exceeded your expectations. I've got two for you.
And I've always thought this guy was extremely good. But he's quiet. He is under the radar.
Goes about his business in a much different way. He'd won on the PGA tour, but not to this level.
But Aaron Rye went in the PGA championship, I thought was huge.
That same week, one of the guys he beat,
who's played phenomenal all year long
and made the tour championship, Alex Smalley.
Yeah, played well.
I mean, he's out of hell.
I know he didn't win.
Yeah.
He was up there so much.
Yeah.
Rye, of course, with the PGA,
you could put Fox in there, too,
just because like off of, like, one event,
but for season long, just like these guys played really well,
those are good ones.
How about Ryan Gerard?
Yeah.
Nobody knew about going into this season.
Played great.
Don't take your own advice.
Probably best to not sell cars.
what did he say it and it's like was that Sunday deal is like you should quit you're so bad you should sell fucking cars or something like that he was the chasing Sunday show which is phenomenal yeah he made a bogey there or whatever at the BMWs like you're so fucking bad he should just be a fucking car salesman I wanted to send it like yes that's how we talk yeah that's how he was obviously lying yeah true yeah good point but that's like that's like that's how dudes talk to themselves out there and that's one thing bad as it might be about those miced up like with those miced up deals you get I'm
I never knew he had, like, there was outside to him.
Like, he's fiery.
And by way, he was chirping and having a good time with Ludwig,
when the girl yelled at Ludwig, saying,
Ludwig, you're so hot.
Yeah.
I mean, he's just, dude, he has a great personality that I don't think a lot of people
knew about.
Also, he's a little crazy, too.
He just made $3.7 million or whatever at the Tour Championship,
and he took a red-eye flight to Switzerland.
Yeah.
To go play.
Again.
Jason, right now.
Just that mindset.
But he's been, I love his, I like seeing dudes with kind of,
own way of playing his golf swing in one you would teach what he'd say i've adam scots the mona lisa i'm
like the graffiti on the side of the you know on the railroad yeah yeah um i'll give you another one
too just kind of like a bounce back i guess uh tom kim i thought it had a nice like resurgent just for a
guy that looked like he was going to be a world beater a lot of spotlight fell off off last year
started come back now wins plays his way to east lake plays well that was a nice kind of
bounce back from Tom Kim,
especially like late in the seat since the Scottish.
Like he's really good.
Really good.
Yeah, good to see Tom Kim back playing well for sure.
All right.
This is where it'll get interesting here.
Give me, who lets you down?
Guys, high expectations did not live up to him.
I hate picking on guys,
but I think we're going to agree on this.
Luke Clanton finishing 147th of the FedEx Cup stand.
Right here.
I believe had one top 10 and one other top 25.
I mean, this kid,
I thought he was can't miss coming out of Florida State.
The way he played on the PGA tour as an amateur,
and then early on, I mean, just seemed to be in the top 10.
I was a little surprised he didn't win.
And then to go out and have the year,
I believe he made just nine cuts this year on the PGA tour.
That one shocked me.
And I hope he figures it out because he's great, dude.
He's so talented.
I was the, I mean, ringleader of the Luke Clanton fan club.
By the way, I'm still, let me be very clear.
I'm still all on board on the Luke Clanton train.
I just think this is why, like,
there's these certain special guys like Jackson Coyvin will get into just come out and boom.
It's just easy and they just continue it.
But for some guys, like, you know, you're used to playing in college.
You get thrust in the PGA tour.
You gain it quickly.
You get out of attention, money, you're moving, changing.
New courses you haven't played.
Like, it takes a while to adjust.
I didn't think Clinton would struggle the way he has, but like I'm still very on board with him from a talent perspective.
I think it all just needs to slow down, calm it down, a little offseason.
Maybe get something going in the fall.
But from a talent perspective, dude, I'm still.
fully on board.
Not just one season.
Tony Fino, one that stands out, right?
Missed playoffs for the first time and ages.
I look back, one top ten for Tony.
I mean, at the end of the season,
we know the putter's been the issue for a long time,
but like putting one-handed stuff like that.
It feels like we're at the kind of the bottom of the barrel
stuff you can try on the greens to get into the dog.
Yeah, Tony Fino is a big shocker.
He's just too talented to have the season he did.
I mean, we just love him so much, so we root for him.
Joel Damon, that tough year.
Yeah.
He's going to need a big fall to make sure he keeps his status going into 2027.
So that was a tough one as well.
What do you think about, I got two more names written down here.
First one, this is not like disappointing in a sense like it was awful.
It's just I feel like my expectations given what he was coming off of into this season.
I thought this would be the year kind of bounce back and contend more, play well more often.
But Jordan Speath with zero top.
tens on the year is shocking.
Yeah, you know how I feel about Jordan.
Because he can get it going.
Like, you just expect a few weeks that it would click.
I mean, he's got so much offense.
It's just all hell breaks loose sometimes out there.
He makes so many big numbers.
There was a tournament this year.
I mean, he's like led and birdies and he finished like 23rd or something like that for the week.
Look, I love his team.
I love everyone around Jordan.
He has been in a funk for quite some time.
Now, I know he had the injury, and that was a big part of it.
But eventually something's got to change.
We got to mix something up here and at least get maybe like a second look
and just get this ball striking back to what it used to be because it's a big problem.
I know he had the card path, but he didn't iron out of bounds on the first hole at the wind of championship.
That's the type of stuff.
That's why he's so hard to handicap.
I was like, because it's good.
You watch him for a stretch or holes.
Like, oh, my God, like this looks great.
Offense, birdies.
And then all of a sudden, just weird hole happens.
Like, I don't know what he was in like others or bogey or worse, but how did he?
to be fairly high.
Makes a lot of bogeys.
It's just like the good is there,
which I think leads you to be optimistic
about the guy, right?
It's hard to just be like,
hey, dude, you just need to make more birdies.
Like, you can't do that.
But you can do it.
You know what you need to do?
Maybe we just tighten up a little bit
on the bogeys and maybe we play it a little safer here.
I don't know how you like put your finger on that,
but it's in there.
But it's just, I thought this year,
coming off the injury, being healthy for the first time,
I was like he's going to show some flashes of great play.
Maybe when he listens to subpar this week,
he'll remember birdie's good.
Bogies back.
Yeah, look, I just read Scott.
He was first in both, and look at the season he had.
This is one for you, and listen, Jordan Spee's got all the money in the world.
He has set.
Great family.
But he was the man in Dallas, Texas, which is a great sports city, as you know, home of America's team.
Right, it's right next to a great city.
He was the man.
Now, there's a new sheriff in town being Scotty Sheffler.
Do you think that's affected him at all?
Not necessarily from the standpoint.
hey, he's in my same town and things like that.
But just being a golf as a whole, when you name like, who are the guy?
Oh, Scotty, Rory, Zander, you know, Wyndham, whoever the guy, Ludwig, like, his name isn't
the one that's, like, thrown into that conversation anymore.
And for a while, he always was.
Always, I mean, it came out so hot.
I don't think it was realistic to think he could continue like he did when he first turned pro
or started playing on the PJ tour.
But I don't think you'd see stretches.
I don't think I'd see a season where he's healthy.
and playing the whole season with zero top tens.
Like, there's just too much talent.
To not have a week.
Yeah, he damn it or made it to the BMW with no top tens.
But I'm just saying, like, look, I mean,
everywhere he showed up in Dallas,
whether it was a sporting event, dinner,
or going to play golf.
Like, he was the man.
He drew all the eyeballs.
And he still does a lot.
But now it's Scotty Sheffler.
And they play a lot of golf together at home.
And I have a feeling I know how those matches go.
And it's got to be a little tough.
I'm like, I was the man.
I was the one everybody wanted to come to their events and be around, and they still want Jordan.
But Scotty's just at a whole other level right now.
And I just was curious if you thought maybe mentally or anything, it's affected him at all.
Yeah, I don't know if it's necessarily like Scotty specifically.
Like, Scotty's here and he's in my hometown.
He's the man here now.
It's just more like my name's not mentioned amongst, you know, the Scotties and the Rory's
and all the marquee big name players like it was for so many years.
That's probably more of a thing.
I mean, but what does that mean?
Just me like confidence, I think.
That's all that is.
I mean, I moved to Scottsdale to give them the spotlight.
Right.
Yeah.
It took a huge shadow.
I was just like,
very wide shadow off of them.
You have a very bright future.
I want to let you all enjoy this for a little bit.
That's awful big of you.
That's awful big of you.
But yeah,
no top tens for him and getting in like the signature events too, you know.
I think he'll still be in a few next year.
He had opportunities.
I'm hopeful that it's just more,
he's still the most fun guy to watch play golf.
Tell you that.
You're going to sign up to watch 18 holes.
You don't know what you're going to get.
That's the dude.
We are not supposed to root for people on the TV broadcast.
But I promise you, our bosses, the higher-ups, even the people calling the golf,
they get excited when Jordan's piece in the mix because those ratings go up.
Greller's out there, dude, he's got a new brace now.
He's aging like a dog.
Greller's going to have a walker, caddying pretty soon.
Mikey, I got a window.
Okay.
Oh, dear God.
Do it.
I got a window, too.
I'm about to jump out of it.
Yeah, dude.
He's all braced up.
I'm like, this guy's been this, like, you just came back from.
war when I see him.
All right, let's go into something like just the big storylines,
things that happened of note this year.
For me personally, probably everybody in golf,
one thing we can agree on,
the Gary Woodland comeback,
getting in the winter circle the year he had,
that's the best. Yeah, made Tour Championship.
Didn't play great to tour championship. I'm sure he's out of gas
after what happened at BMW.
But yeah, it was one of the most emotional things.
I think it's one of the best stories in all sports,
not just golf, to come back from what he has,
how open he's been about everything to go out there and win again
and make the tour championship for the first time since 2019.
It was great.
I really think, obviously, getting that off his chest,
but reuniting with Randy Smith,
being around Scotty Sheffler a lot.
They play every practice round together has really helped Gary.
I mean, he's always loved this game,
but I think when you're out there with a guy like Scotty Sheffler
and Randy who loves the game more than anybody,
I think it kind of like rejuvenate you a little bit
and want you to be out there
and want you to play against the best in the world.
obviously he had the famous top at the BMW
on Sunday.
I guess they played a practice round at Eastlake
and the first time Gary pulls out the three
and hit it.
God he was like, oh, that was a high one.
That's like 280 yards.
That one went way higher than normal.
You don't think Gary's remembering it too?
Trust me.
He is.
And props to Randy, like when we talk to him,
like, dude, Gary's swinging at 128 miles an hour.
Fastest on tour, club head speed.
And he's like, one thing I got with Randy when we started, he's like,
why are you hitting everything so soft?
It's like I played my best golf back in the day when I was hitting things hard.
And then I felt like I needed to rain it in.
And he's got him like swinging hard at it again.
The way he drove the golf ball this year, I mean, it's hard to, you can play.
If you can drive it like that, you can play good golf regardless of what the rest of your game looks like.
He was all world off the tea.
I think that's hands down the best story.
I know Wyndham Clark dealing with everything he did, the comeback as well.
I mean, he had a really...
Yeah, that was a big one.
He had a really rough, I would say, two years, year and a half, two years,
and having to deal with everything he did at Shinnock to get the win,
to put his name in the hat for player of the year, winning at BMW.
I mean, you look at the people, he's beat.
Especially this year.
And the places he wins.
Yeah.
I mean, to beat, he played with Scotty, final round US Open, played with Rory,
final round BMW.
I mean, he's going against the big dogs, and he is one of the big dogs.
Just got to keep the microphone away from him.
You give him big fareways.
in tough golf courses, and he is
tough to beat when he gets good. The putter's been a joke.
Yeah. And like, he put himself in
the very real conversation for player the year
until the last week, and he did it basically with half a season,
like playing good golf, it was like all of a sudden, bam.
That's my other bar. Like, we've gone up to the rock before.
We've played a member, remember, pull around it, the turn,
go grab a drink, and he's on the putting green. I'll walk over. He's got
literally nine putters. And I'm like, dude,
what are you, like, you've been a great putter, like,
your whole lot, you don't need to, it's not the
putter. Just find one you like and stick with it.
And he has, and he's making everything.
And I hope this mindset for him continues.
Like he was obviously,
when's the U.S.
Open at LACC,
goes through a rough patch.
Obviously,
leading into that,
all the talk was with Julie Elion,
who we've had on here,
got all the great work they've done.
And then he went backwards a little bit.
Let's be honest.
And now he's back to where he was then,
if not even better.
And I was just so proud of him watching him at Bell Rave.
I mentioned, you know,
doubling the first toll on Saturday,
bogeing it on Sunday.
And he's walking through the gallery,
high five and everybody in Smiley.
That wouldn't have happened 18 months ago.
And that's a credit to him and the work he's put in.
But just please keep that going.
Yeah, I don't think you would have won that golf tournament in the past with a double on the first and then not making a birdie until the 16th hole.
Like there's simple stuff.
Like he's mentioned to me like some of the stuff that he and Julie work on is like it's so basic.
It's just like smile at someone on every T-box.
Just smile.
Like just try to, you know, just simple stuff to like try to be happy out there.
And ever since you kind of like just flip the switch.
again like he did the first time when it was like he hadn't done much then all of a sudden
bam one of the best players in the world rider cup all that now he's you know gonna be on our
president's cup team and is in good shape for rider cup next year but it's been a hell of a bounce back
from a talent perspective like he he's one of the few out there that can just anywhere you go
like you could get it done yeah he had a great season uh some other guys obviously chris godder up
for him i mean this dude's a star it's gonna be awesome to see him on the president's cup team
I'll give you another one.
I know he didn't win,
and you know how I feel about him.
I mean, I got a massive man crush on him.
He's my homie,
but what a year for Siwu Kim.
Give it to him.
All right.
File it on.
Eleven top tens.
Save $2.00.
Eight make you rich.
He's just,
he's the greatest.
And the world has gotten to see how much everybody loves
Seawu Kim out there,
how funny he is.
I mean, his press conference this week
at the Tour Championship.
They asked him how much money he's lost to Scott.
He's like, I don't know,
but I pay for his second son's diapers.
Yeah, and a car.
Yeah.
And college.
But he's the man, dude.
I'm pumped for him.
He's going to win something big soon.
He's a player's champion, but he's going to win a big one soon.
His ball striking is ridiculous.
Potter cooperates.
He contends, wins.
Then he has the second most top tens behind Scotty, right?
Yeah.
He's a beast and the fact that he's like more visible now,
more interviews.
And well done to him.
Also, by the way, Roy McElroy, back-to-back master's champions,
looking to be the first person ever to three-peat,
yeah, 2027.
Yeah. Weird year for him. Like, Masters comes again, does that. Is it easier now? You know,
we did the Grand Slam last year, but like, does this open it up? And then it was just like,
I feel like the guy didn't like golf for a lot of the year. We just didn't want to play.
Didn't, you know, it was like, every interview, it's like, I'm in a different stage of my,
I want to be my fan, I want to do this, don't want to hop on all the planes and stuff. And
just seemed like kind of ran out of gas, I guess a little bit towards the end. Another huge story
on the is the emergence of Jackson Coyven
who has been waiting on for a long time.
Comes out, PJ 2 or you, all world everything, wins.
Gets in the playoffs, didn't advance, pass.
What do you think Jackson Coyv,
are we still President's Cup talking Jackson Coyven?
In your opinion?
So I didn't think so after not making it to the BMW.
It's phenomenal.
They made it to the playoffs.
He got the win.
I mean, he's going to be in everything next year.
going to be teeinged up at the Masters, which is going to be awesome.
I have a feeling we're going to hear a lot more from Jackson Coyven soon,
but I'm so pumped to watch him in the future.
I mean, he's got so much game.
Everything came at him so fast.
I really did think after the win, he was going to keep on rolling.
I mean, he won, was like six of 12 tournaments in college this past year.
I know it's a different level, but he is one of those guys when other tour players play
with him, they're like, damn it, he's got it.
Yeah, and that putter lethal too.
It'll be interesting on this president's cup.
You go look at that top 12 and it's like you can make an argument for all of them.
Let's just go one through 12.
There's a few that you're like maybe him, maybe him.
All right.
So now who do you replace them with?
A couple obvious ones maybe just outside the top 12.
But there's also an opportunity where you get creative, you know, if you're Brandt's
notic or what you're going to do with this.
Like I truly, I have hunches, but I don't necessarily know where he's going to go about this.
Well, it gets announced tomorrow.
and I think there'll be a couple surprises.
I'm just going to leave it at that.
Okay.
You're a big believer in fate?
Yeah.
Are you?
Okay.
I also believe they're going to win.
Okay.
You like their odds?
Yeah, I do.
Regardless of who they're trying out there.
But now, President's going to be cool.
That's, I mean, basically other than the fall events, that's what we got left.
Yeah.
No.
No.
Another.
What are you got?
No, go ahead.
I didn't know.
I was just going to say last thing here.
Because Liv is like, we've been so much back and forth.
What's happening?
You know, do they have money?
Do they not have money?
bankruptcy. It sounds like they're applying for bankruptcy. I think the only two things that people
are going to talk about or care about are John Rom, Bryson DeShambo, predictions where they're
playing their golf next year. Bryson, YouTube. Okay, strictly YouTube, breaking 50. I don't know if
this live 2.0 thing's going to happen. I have no clue how, why people would want it to invest in this.
I don't know. Maybe that's just me. John, I think we'll see a lot on the DP World Tour,
unless they come to an agreement with the PGA tour
some fine situation because
2028 is going to be such a different year on the PGA tour
and there's no sponsor exemptions into the championship series events.
Are you going to put John Rom on the challenge series?
I mean, that's a hell of a punishment,
but is that good for your product?
I don't think Roeb cares about making a point.
I think that's one of the best things going for him
is like he wasn't around for all the live stuff like Monahan
and he's like,
I'm in charge of making this tour, this product the best it can be.
This guy helps that.
I think.
I think John Rom will be playing on the PJ.
I think he'll get some sort of a Brooks type of a deal.
They'll open a window or whatever, very specific.
And John Rom will come in.
He might have to pay a bigger fine.
It doesn't really matter.
But that's my guess.
Because Rollap is like, look, there's only a few of these guys we want.
Yeah, but they have to play next year.
Yeah.
If they want to be in the big time events in 2028.
Yeah.
Which would be another reason.
You can just exempt them into them.
Now, there is, there could be possible loopholes, you know, career money exemptions.
You're a multiple-time major champion.
You're automatically in the champion series events.
Yeah, they can tweak it all kinds of stuff.
So where it works that way.
But I think John Rom will be DP World Tour next year and then hopefully some PGA tour
events here and there.
But not like an open window, like a Brooks situation where like you're back, you're not
in the signature events.
You're playing these.
Good luck.
But you can play your way in.
I just don't think it would go over well with the other players if they just let him
immediately roll into the PGA tour in 27.
Why different, though, for him than Brooks, do you think?
But they seem to not have issue.
Well, Brooks did sit out some time.
At the end of the lip.
I mean, I guess he didn't really sit out sometime.
I mean, he just paid the fine.
Yeah, I guess.
I mean, if you come back and pay a massive fine like that, I mean, sure, yeah.
I think it'll be a bigger fine if he does it just because he had that opportunity to take
that same deal.
that Brooks did.
And he passed.
He's like, oh, you pass this time.
Well, now, backloaded on his deal.
I don't know.
Listen, the game of golf is much better.
The PJ Tour product is much better
if John Rom and Bryson DeShambo are a part of it.
Do I think it's going to be okay without him?
Absolutely.
It already is.
But I think it would be better.
John Rom is one of the best players on the planet.
When he's going, there's not many better.
And I would love to see him and Scottie Shephler have some battles
at some big time event.
Yeah, I want him playing.
over here. I hope they do it. Make him sponsor a signature event.
They're looking for sponsors for, what, 30 million or whatever?
But John, we're going to have the John Rom invitational here.
You don't get to play in it, but you're financing it.
He can pay the difference for y'all at the WM Phoenix Open.
No, yeah. Just juice that a little bit. There's a million different ways to make this work.
You can just sprinkle the infield on every single event.
You're going to be fine.
Yeah. But no, Liv, look.
That's my prediction. I think Bryson might stick around.
If there is a Liv 2.1, I think they're going to give them half the league in equity or something.
and he might just want to be the show.
Sick equity.
I mean, that's what else you're going to offer.
That's all they got to offer.
There's no $500 million.
If you want to invest in that,
I got an investment that I'll go ahead and sell to you right now that I'm involved with.
I've heard about this.
I'm trying to weasel my way in the back door with that.
But, yeah, those were kind of like the big topics for the season.
Recap here.
We got fall season coming up.
It does matter for a lot of guys.
It be fun to watch that top hunter bubble.
but yeah, pretty much on cruise there coming down the stretch
minus President's Cup coming up.
Yeah, it's been an awesome season.
It's been so nice.
Look, Liv has always been a topic,
but I feel like it's died down a lot this year.
The animosity, I mean, the product doesn't compare
to what the PGA tour has.
It's been nice to just focus on the golf for the most part.
Yeah, the golf's been good.
And we've got young stars coming up.
Hopefully we get a couple of those guys back
and we march forward, like, be in as good as shape as it's ever been.
Okay.
All right.
Well, looking forward to 2027 out on the PGA tour.
We're going to enjoy a nice little five-month break.
A lot of football.
A lot of member guests.
By the way, heading to Kansas City Wednesday.
Shout out.
G.B.
With our man, George Brett, just called me.
And, of course, as always, leaves a voicemail.
Because that's what he does.
He doesn't understand the little text thing.
Old school.
And just the little preview just said,
it's going to be fucking smoking hot here.
I'm talking 96, 97.
And you know the humidity.
I don't know what the rest of it says, but I'm sure it's great.
Bring your pamper.
It's probably about three minutes long of the voicemail.
Oh, yeah.
But it's going to be great.
And speaking of leaving voicemails, this is our first time.
We got some.
The subpar hotline.
Okay.
Once again, that number 480-269-6169-6-1-66.
You call in.
Questions, confessionals.
Yeah, whatever you want.
If you want to just get something off your chest, we're here for you.
Dating advice?
Anything.
It's a one-stop shot.
But we will not play it if you're rude or inappropriate.
And I will say, I believe we're going to bring in our man, producer Mark, here right now,
who has been running this thing.
he has picked out four of the voicemails on the subpar hotline.
And we have not heard them.
We have no clue what any of them are.
I know he is very excited for one of them in particular.
So producer Mark, here we go.
Our debut of the subpar hotline,
we got to throw the headset on here so we can hear you.
But let's get this thing going.
All right.
This first guy, Freddie Stallings, has called three times.
And I'm very back and forth on which one to go with.
But since you just mentioned member guests, he does have one on member guests.
So here he is.
Hi, yes, this is Mr. Freddie Stalin, the Hedicap Auditor of the Midwest Hedicap Auditing Association.
Eddie, who big fans of the show, I recently played in a member guest down in Nebraska.
And we got third place in our flight, no big deal.
But either way, we got done.
And my buddy Jimbo afterwards says, well, Freddie, that'd be $2,500.
I said, whoa, whoa, you invited me to be the guest.
there big time member. I just figured
any time there's a member guest, I mean, that's how
I do it. When I invite you to my club,
I pick the bill, when you invite me,
that's on you. I'm just wondering, am I the only one that
thinks this is the way the world work? I hang up and listen. God bless.
First off, Freddy.
Freddie, love you. Got to sound like the ladies, man, a little bit there.
Yeah, yeah. How big is it? Yeah.
But great question.
Great voice.
If I'm so, the member cannot charge the guest.
I actually, I've heard of people doing this.
That is bullshit.
Okay, you, it's a member guest.
You are inviting someone.
You handpicked someone to come experience your club.
You are picking up the bill.
I can tell you this.
When I go to Gaza Ranch, I am Colt Morrow for the week.
Right, God.
Whether he's there or not, put it on Colt Morrow.
Exactly.
I always do the same.
I'm paying for the entry fee.
I haven't got my man's hotel for the one in Bounty Club here coming up in a couple of weeks out in Nashville.
Because he puts me up at his house up at Gosser.
I put him up here when he comes to Whiskbrock,
but absolutely the member picks up the bill that week.
Now, you go out to dinner, something on the town,
guests can pick up dinner.
And guests can pick up caddies too.
The member pays for the event.
The guest, as a good show of faith,
I think you offer to pay for the caddies
if it's not included in the fee
and any extracurricular stuff that you do,
guests should be offering at least to pay for that.
But in terms of like entry fee, drinks, all that,
it's like, I invited you to this, you know?
Some people mandated, but that's the rule of thumb.
Maybe send a nice thank you gift.
I had Peter Thomas Sulo.
He sent me an autographed.
Dotty Pepper pitcher.
Yeah.
See, that's nice.
That's something you'll have for forever.
That's above and beyond.
It's actually hanging in the office now.
You got your hero hanging up there signed?
What's better than that?
Good question, Freddie.
Thank you for calling multiple times as well.
All right, PM.
Who do we think that is, actually?
That's somebody's camouflage voice.
All right, go ahead, PM.
All right, we got a guy who had a chance encounter
with Xander and got a nickname that stuck for the rest of his life.
What's up, Sampari?
This is Alex Conley, calling in from Turtles and South Carolina,
played Division I golf at Santa Clara,
a huge golf nerd still tied in with the community.
Have a great story from my high school days in San Diego.
Zander Shafley and I had the same.
Pudding coach and trainer
would commonly do some joint workouts and be in the gym together.
One day I was going up and our trainer had two stories.
The downstairs was the gym upstairs with the PT area.
I was coming in.
He was at the end of the workout.
I was coming in from mine.
You know, I'm up in the second level in the PT area.
He and the trainer downstairs and up there by myself.
I thought I had the whole room to my room.
And I ripped a fart right there in the room.
Nobody's up there.
Didn't think anything of it.
You know, thought coast is clear.
Well, about 10 seconds later, here comes Zander walking up.
And he just goes, God damn, Conley, what did you eat for lunch?
And I go, Kung Pow Chicken from Panda Express.
And let's just say that the X-Man did not let that one go.
was at an AJGA event
and he was doing some speaking
to the tournament
and he comes up to me
and he goes
Kung Pow! What's up man?
And let's just say
for the rest of time
he would just call me Kung Tao
and that has stuck with me
ever since all my college teammates
and a lot of people just know me
as Kung Pow calmly. They go
who's this,
guy. And yeah, that's my story. Zander is one of the funniest dudes out there. That's a great
dude. Lots of good laughs. And that's certainly the best one. I hope you guys enjoy this.
And take care. Love that. Cung Pau Conley. I'm going to, I'm going to text Zander and see if he
remembers his guy. You got a little voicemail. Can a guy get a fart off in some privacy one time
without it living on for forever? You know what I mean? Come on, Zander. A little Jimmy's boy.
Remember, I was out there.
He was following me around as I was on course walking.
Yeah.
And I ripped one.
I thought we were in the safe space.
And CJ just buries me to everybody.
I mean, guys showing up for a workout after eating cum pal, also not smart, by the way.
He'd come by out chicken and then go for a workout.
He's in there trying to better himself.
Got a little moment to himself.
Once to let one go, just decompressed.
Yeah, shit.
30 years later, here we are.
Man.
I'm going to text him right now.
Hit him up right now.
See if we know about Kung Powell.
We know about Kung Powell Conley.
Okay. Yeah. If you're going to get a nickname like that, it's nice to have it from Xander, though.
Hell yeah. How'd you get that name? Oh, my good friend and close acquaintance, Zander Shuffley named me that.
Him and Siwu, two funniest guys on the PJ tour.
Yeah? Top two? I'll put them as top two.
Okay. That's good. Ask him about Kung Powell Conley.
I'm doing it right now. See what he has to say.
Keeps going to King. Every time I try to type Kung.
Yeah. Yep. All right. P.m., keep them rolling. I like this.
All right. We need to.
I have a guy here that needs some advice on a situation he ran into on the course.
Came to the right place.
Hey, guys.
So I had a story and a question for you.
So I'm playing golf with my buddy last week in New York.
And we're going up the 18th fairway.
And the first fairway comes right back at us on the right side.
So I hit my drive, blow it into the first fairway, and I watch it land.
and my buddy and I are walking up to the ball.
I'm like, oh, God, that guy's going to pick up my ball.
He's definitely going to pick up my ball.
Picked up the ball, puts in his pocket.
I'm like, okay, that's fine.
Keep walking over there.
That guy had hit his shot from about the same spot that my ball was,
and I walk up to him.
I said, hey, just wonder if you guys saw a title of three.
He goes, no, I didn't see no title of three.
I go, oh, well, okay.
I thought I hit my ball here.
You sure you haven't found it?
He's like, no, man, I haven't seen a Title III.
I go, can I see the ball in your left pocket?
He goes, no, no, you can't see the ball in my left pocket.
I go, well, why not?
He says, you're saying I stole something?
Like, no, I'm not saying you stole something.
I just want to see the ball in your left pocket.
Well, you can't see the ball in my left pocket.
I'm like, okay, well, if any of your other buddies find a Titleist 3, let me know,
really appreciate your help.
So he walked off to his cart.
I just take a ball out of my bag
and drop it in the spot that the ball was,
kind of act like I'm looking for the ball in a different spot.
And then as I'm about to hit my shot,
oh, hey, hey, yeah, we found your ball back here.
We got it.
It's 80 yards from the T-box
that I originally teed off from in the rough.
so question being how would you guys have handled that situation and then follow up are there any good stories you have from your time playing golf people picking up balls not admitting to it or or what have you so but appreciate the work you guys do enjoy the show and uh talk to you thank you so much i kill him yeah it feels like the question well look you hit it over there you obviously knew where it was you saw the guy pick it up you know you know you know where you know where you
it is. I mean, depends on how big the dude was.
That's a monster. That's probably the determining factor.
But like, if you go over and be like, hey man, did you happen to see a title of three?
I think you might have picked it up. No, I didn't pick it up. Well, can I see that ball in your
pocket? He's like, no, I'd been like, all right, whatever, dude, don't care. I'd have told
my playing partners. Hey, this idiot. Homeboy picked up my ball, but don't want to show me.
Which also like, all right, dude picks up the ball. A, I just don't know why you're picking up
random, especially when there's two fairways where, you know, like, your ball could end up.
And if you did pick it up and the dude comes up, like, hey, did you find, like, oh, yeah, shit.
Sorry, I thought there was somebody, you know, I was just laying here at it.
I don't know what the, like, what's the incentive for the dude to be like, no.
And you can't, are you accusing me of stealing your going?
Yeah, dude, that's exactly what I'm doing.
I bet you have a hundred bucks right now, pull out that pocket or pull out that ball out of your pocket.
I bet you the title is three.
Yeah.
And then they come up, like, oh, here it is 80 yards off the tee down in the rough.
I don't know what I would have.
I would probably would just talk a little shit to him about what,
it's in his pocket.
And I said, all right, I'm going to drop right here.
Enjoy my beat-up Titleist 3,
knit with, or done nothing.
I did have one story on tour with a fan picking up a ball.
The house that Sleeves built, Colonial Country Club.
Thank you.
High yacht it, way right off 18.
You know the whole well.
Obviously, it lands on the side of the hill,
kicks way right, goes down over by the bridge over there,
into the penalty area.
But, you know, it's got the cement going through.
Yeah, the drain.
Yeah.
And so we go over there.
I was like, there's a bunch of people around, actually.
And like, anybody see my ball?
And they're like, yeah, that guy picked it up.
And I was like, sir, can I'm my ball back?
He's like, I don't have it.
And you can see it in his pocket.
Is this the same dude?
I was like, there's literally 50 people right here.
They're all saying, my ball's in your pocket.
Let me have my ball.
Where was it?
And the people were like, it was right there.
But he picked it up.
And he's like, I don't have it.
Would not give it.
So I call a rules official over.
I was like, here's the deal.
I hit this over here.
They all said it stopped right there.
that dude has it in his pocket.
I can see it, but he says it's not his,
and the rules,
he looks at him and goes,
I'm not dealing with you right now.
Drop a ball right there.
The dude stuck around for the whole thing.
He was standing there,
but it wouldn't show what's in his pocket?
No, I don't understand that.
That's not a golf ball.
Oh, you can see those dimples.
No, but I'm going to hang out here
just while you bring a rules official
and then still not show it.
It's like,
the rules official is like,
all right,
there's enough people that say your ball
was right here.
It's obviously in play.
Like, I'm not dealing with this.
Just dropping it.
You're not going to prison, by the way.
Like, it's going to be fine.
I'm just going to place it back where it was and hit it.
I'll give you a ball.
Just put mine back down.
But also with a really good lie, obviously.
It's not like the Yankee fan who, like, grabbed it out of Moogie Betts' glove in right field during the playoffs last year.
Oh, yeah.
Steve Bartman.
Literally, the guy's ripped it out of the glove.
Yeah, it's not like you're going to, dude, just like, it does happen, but just put it back down.
Give me one.
I'm looking at it.
Did you bring your own ball here to observe golf?
Give me my golf ball back.
It was in play, because I'm supposed to play that one.
And I'll give you a fresh one.
That's what I'm saying.
I got you.
I got you.
Find me right after the round.
It would be all kinds of cool shit.
But to answer your question,
all depends on the size of the guy.
I'm probably not going to.
Probably not.
As much as I like to say,
I would do anything.
But like,
I just probably just make fun of me like,
okay,
bud, enjoy the scuff pro v.
All right.
I like it.
Mark,
keep them firing.
Okay, last one.
We got a guy who is randomly paired
with the two last people
of a big bachelor party.
How's it going,
fellas?
First time caller,
long time listener.
Got a good,
story for you to tell about something that happened on the course when me and my buddy were about
18 years old. We had caught up to the end of a bachelor party, and the last people in the group
were a two-sum, so we got paired up with them. These guys were doing Jaeger bombs out of their
cart. They were drinking heavily. They were boozed up, and they were not very good. So we get to one
at the holes and the four some in front of us that was in their group was sitting there in the
middle of the fairway and the guys told us to hit and we said they're in range and he's like
oh it's fine that's just you know drew and cold up there but if you hit him we'll give you
20 bucks and we'll yell four so my friend steps up and he usually hits about a 30 to 40 yard
slice. And of course, this is the one that he hits dead nut center, straight down the middle.
We all yell four. And the guy in the fairway turns around. The ball hits him right in the chest
and drops the guy. And my friend throws his driver down and he's like, I'm going to have to
hop the fence. He's like, I'm not fighting a grown-ass man out here. He's like, no, no, no,
they'll laugh. It'll be funny. And sure enough, the guy pulled out his wallet and paid my friend
20 bucks for hitting his partner up there.
Thought that might be a good one for you.
Enjoy it, folks.
I like it.
Well, I thought there was going to be like a fight that broke out of something like that.
It is weird how that kind of shit happens, though.
Oh, yeah.
30-yard size, like, do that.
There's no chance.
There's no chance you're going to hit him.
Oh, God.
I do remember.
I got in trouble.
I was probably like 16 or 17 playing it though.
Of course, I grew up on Lake Kiwa.
And it was an older community.
and I don't think they really liked us young kids very much.
Some of the members didn't.
A lot of them did.
But, I mean, we play golf all day every day.
And we're all pretty good players.
But this one group that was behind us,
they just did not like us young fellows being out on the golf course.
And they hit into us all day long.
Every single hole they would hit it into us.
Finally, 18 to part five, sitting in the fairway,
just waiting to go for the graded two.
And I see them on the tee.
And I'm like, these dudes are about to hit.
And they fired it up there and it rolls right up next to us.
And I teed it up and I sent it back.
And I got a little trouble for that one for the pros.
Like these assholes have hit into me all day.
Like they're doing it on purpose.
I'm just firing one back.
Yeah.
I'll see people fire it back to him.
Like it happens once.
All right.
But if it keeps happening,
you literally hit in those 10 times.
Stop.
But it's crazy when these like weird bets like that these impossible.
Like he teed up and hit a guy.
Guy can't hit a fair way.
You know what I mean?
We used to do that with the picker at this public course that I used to go to
when I was a kid.
But we'd take like driver off the deck.
You'd be like 80 yards out there.
And sure enough, one of the times when we're trying to do it,
a buddy who hit it hard.
It was a big kid at the time.
Hit it dead square.
Guys driving sideways.
And it went through the metal.
Broke through it.
And the guy full speed straight up and just grab the guy.
Grab my buddy by his shirt.
We never went back to that.
Threatened to kick his ass.
We never went back to that range ever again.
I was like, so I'm going to be done doing that.
But I was like, there's a one.
I mean, dude, it's like, hit your driver off the deck,
try to hit the picker.
Guys, 100 whatever yards away.
And he does it.
Crazy. Couldn't break. Couldn't break 80.
Reminds me of a good one with one of our favorite guests of all time, Finn Ewing.
So Finn Ewing has his incredible charity event. He does there in Dallas at Preston Trail.
And they always do a shootout at the end with the pros.
And one of them was on the 11th old Preston Trail. It's a par three.
And Finn's a car dealer. And they do like low pro gets a car, shootout, whatever.
So they had a couple of cars parked like by the 11th green, like really close to the green, just off of it.
And we're doing like a closest to the pin thing or something.
and John Mallinger, of all people, goes, Finn, what happens if we hit the car?
He goes, you hit the car, you own it.
And like, it's what, it wasn't really in play for good players, but it was good.
Mellinger, of course, just fires it right at this Mercedes lands right on top,
puts a massive dent in the top of it.
It's fine, I'll get that fixed.
He's like, so I get the car and he's like, no, you're going to pay for that dent, though.
It was glorious.
I was like, of course, Malinger takes dead aim at the Mercedes.
Yeah, that sounds exactly like Malik.
I'll get that fixed, but that's my car, right?
Yeah.
Well done. I like the phone lines.
Yes.
Keep these bad boys coming.

Stories questions.
Mark will pick some of his favorite ones each week and we will do this.
Make them appropriate.
Do not be rude.
We love good stories.
Good questions.
And it also leads to other stories.
Just send them.
We'll determine what's appropriate or not.
Anything goes.
Well, that was a lot of fun.
Congrats to Scotty Sheffler on winning the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup title.
