Dustin from Sacred Symbols here,
have you ever wondered what it actually feels like to have a better laptop,
like the Dell XPS powered by Intel Core?
With its premium thin and light design, it feels smooth in your hands.
The responsive touchscreen keeps things.
fast and precise for easy scrolling and swiping.
And with long-lasting battery life, you get non-stop energy to keep working without constantly
hunting for a charger.
Built for those who want better.
The DellXBS built for you.
What happens when two people who grew up in a very strange corner of Los Angeles
look back and realize just how bizarre their upbringings really were?
They start a podcast, of course.
I'm Ashley Johnson.
And I'm Talies and Jaffe.
Before we became the internet people we are today, we spent our childhoods as working actors,
appearing in shows like growing pains and films like Mr. Mom.
In our podcast, Weird Kids, we're diving deep into our unique upbringings,
our friendship with each other, and all the delightfully odd interests we still carry with us today.
In each episode, we get to share stories of our youth, the things that bring us joy,
the problems that we face, and occasionally the friends we've collected along the way.
If you're a misfit, an outcast, or just a weirdo who loves all things nostalgic and unconventional, come take a seat at our table.
Each week, we'll be releasing previously members-only episodes on YouTube and all major podcast platforms,
with new episodes dropping exclusively and ad-free on beacon.tv.
Well, everyone, you're complaining finally did it.
We're reverting back to audio only.
Yep.
Sorry, guys.
For those who like to see in our faces, too bad.
It's done.
we're going back to the old way.
Just kidding.
Oh, man.
See, that's the kind of thing
we need to coordinate beforehand
because I was thinking
it was going to be a just kidding thing.
You were thinking it was going to be a psych.
Yeah.
I mean, they kind of fall in the same bracket.
Yeah, it just sounds bad
when we both say different things
at the same time, right?
I mean, I guess it could still work, but...
I wonder if any one of them
thought one in their head before the other
and people did it with us
and they had the same issue
where it's like, you said it different
or I said it different.
Well, I'm sure some other people did, you know, they were thinking we were going to be like, gotcha, pranked you, goofed you.
Ooh, classic goofed you.
Goofs TV.
Uh, an old, uh, an old, uh, those kids with problems joint.
That's right.
Kids with, that's a kid, that's a kids with problems joint right there.
Why do I feel like we.
Didn't we start something with that?
A something something joint?
Dude, the most recent, uh, the, the paperback, uh, uh, the, the paperback, uh,
Pocket Edition of Submega Saves the Troops, the title page says, I think it says like a Ryan McGee and Matt Watson.
Classic.
Yeah, but you guys probably actually are like, wait, what the F? Where are they? I can't see them. I can only hear them.
Like the good old days. There's an explanation. Well, there's multiple explanations.
We forgot to pay the power bill. Yes. So the cameras cannot plug them in.
No. Using our iPhones to record this audio.
As you can tell, it's iPhone quality.
I mean, whoever's going to, whoever we're getting as an audio engineer is going to have to do some magic to make this sound even remotely listenable.
I was about to say legible, but that's written, not spoken.
Well, I mean, for our hearing impaired audience, they could be reading the transcript right now instead.
And, you know, they're like legible.
I don't know why this got me thinking of it.
Last night, I was watching videos on YouTube.
about video games because I'm like trying to do some research and like what what should I spend my
money on in terms of video games and all of a sudden like I click on a video and it sounds like an
AI voice and I'm like oh no is this an AI video and it's just going so I really like this game
and the reason I like this game it's like in a weird cadence right it's like not a human you can
always kind of tell and then I look and I'm like oh wait his game's in French what's going on here
and then I go it was the auto dubbing that they do so like I reverted to the original and it's just
some French dude talking.
And I'm like, oh, so interesting.
So like, I wonder, it makes me kind of wonder,
is there at least one audience members
since the auto-dubbing or whatever
has become a thing that, like,
they listen to that version of us?
Wait, dude, that actually genuinely makes me,
there has to be at least one foreign listener
that YouTube is auto-dubbing to their language
and they don't realize that it's an auto-dub?
And they think that we're actually just speaking that
language and sound like that. We just sound odd. We sound like monotone. Their compression on their
mics is kind of weird. It's so, it's so cool that these two, these two white dudes from,
from California can speak Arabic. It would only not be able to like, there were certain
moments where like there would be a word missing very rarely, but like it got it to a T of,
it seemed like, you know, I don't know French, but like it seemed like it was, uh, it's pretty
good. Transferring the language correctly. Uh, first time I ever saw that.
that was a thing was when we released our epic rap battles of history vlog and I was like,
wait, what? And I switched it and I put us in like Indonesian. And I was kind of blown away
because it still matches like your voice. Like it sounded like you and me. Uh, still like
uncanny, like it's off. But like it was getting the tone and it was it was, it was crazy. And actually
like I don't even, I haven't really thought about it a lot, but like technically I guess on this
you could go on YouTube and switch it to another language and listen to the whole podcast.
So for those who are bilingual,
sexuality doesn't really have to.
No, as in like speaks to language.
Like someone could speak English and then they also speak Japanese or Spanish or something.
And then they could just set it over to that setting.
So they can still understand it, you know,
because it wouldn't be worth it just switching it to another language and just,
I mean, y'all could do that.
Listen, if you want to, guys, if you want to switch it to Thai and just listen to it from here on out,
like be our guest
I'm sure that maybe the end of the algorithm
that actually helps us because maybe it's like
oh my god they've got listeners in Thailand
and then all of a sudden we've got a huge Thai audience
because it's pushing us
in Thailand we're all our Thai heads
at Thai heads where you at
just Thai people
Thai heads I like Thai heads
kind of sounds like a slur
I was about to say you fucking tie head
because it's like the turban head you know all that
it sounds like a slur for Middle East people
but I can't think of a fashion of another culture
where it looks like they would have a tie on their head.
But maybe that's just my...
Well...
My closed-in American brain.
Well, you...
You associated tie-head with...
Because it's like, you know, with turbines, you know, it's like...
In stuff, it's a cloth, they wrap, so they're tying in it.
But a tie-head seems like...
Because I have always seen ties worn as like a thing...
Like a thing.
Like, when people are, like, drunk in movies or a TV show, you know?
Yeah, they wear it as like a...
Headband.
Headband.
I feel like there's a culture that
I mean
Japanese don't they
They have bandanas
Tie heads
Don't
It sounds awful
Oh man
And dude in the peanut
sketch we did earlier this year
One of
So Ryan and I made all of the
Anytime it shows X
The Everything app or any other website
That was like
all of that was custom made.
So like every little thing on those web pages
was stuff that we wrote
and then photoshopped in.
So there's one that's like
a parody of
an Asman Gold
clip of you as the
epic peanut and you're like
you're in your little webcam
and you have to zoom in to see this
but like on your screen on the stream clip
it's you looking at like a text document
of like you're coming up with new slurs
and honestly
I remember I was here pretty late that night
when I was editing that specific part
so I was like
I'm not gonna call Ryan and bother him at like 1 a.m.
with like dude can you help me come on with some new slurs
but I feel like the list
not bad.
They sound like they could be slurs.
Yeah I just
and I had to double check that
they weren't slurs
because actually some of the ones I came up with
I googled and I was like
oh my God that's already a slur
I just like you're actually just typing in
very obvious slurs and you're like, well, I've spelled it differently.
There's only one G in this one.
Yeah, I don't understand.
Does it still count?
Why is everyone so mad?
It's not the same word.
It's funny, that could be about two different slurs.
Yeah, that's wherever your mind went with that one, guys, that's on you and it says a lot
about you.
Yeah, either you're homophobic or you're racist.
Or it could be a third word that.
That we're not going to tell you.
Yeah.
And we're not even thinking of it because we don't even know.
that many slurs.
No.
Growing up as middle school boys in South Carolina,
slurs were the last thing that ever, you know,
entered my ears.
You say that sarcastically as if it would be the first thing that...
Well, it wasn't the first thing,
but I mean,
being a middle school boy in the, like, early 2000s in South Carolina,
you know, the...
You got rowdy.
No, but now that, okay, that sounds like I was tossing around slurs.
I'm saying, like, you heard it from, like, other,
like, teen boys.
and stuff quite yeah.
Now, I'm not talking like, like,
I'm just gonna drop this one.
Because it, because like this.
I mean, the conversation is divulged.
You know, when you used to say slurs.
When you're with some teen boys and you're saying slurs?
Yeah, out of context.
Dude, I mean, some pre-teen boys,
a handful of slurs.
I mean, that's a great time right there.
And a bottle of jack.
Woo!
Having fun.
Talk about a partay.
Talk about a night to remember.
Uh-huh.
But yeah.
A pale moonlight.
I'm going to go ahead and switch the topic from that
because there's really no saving that one.
But actually to get serious...
Oh, now we're getting serious?
Let me save myself, man.
Come on.
We are...
You probably are like,
okay, well, they only give joke answers
for why there's no video.
Yep.
And it's going to stay that way.
Just kidding.
We...
You might have noticed in the last few episodes, the set was slowly...
Some of you maybe aren't as observant as observant as others, and that's okay.
But some of you noticed that the set was slowly banishing.
You know, it was being deconstructed.
Stuff was being taken down.
There was construction equipment laying a boot.
There's tape.
Box?
Tape box.
Ruler?
There's ruler.
measurement tape.
All as Matt said.
Screw, drill.
It's a boot.
It's all a boot.
Trash bag.
Bag trash?
Got you.
Come on, man.
Don't do that.
Sorry.
But you guys are probably very curious.
Well, here's all I'll say about that.
You'll just have to wait and see.
And it will all make sense in the future soon.
And kind of rip the band-aid in a more formal way if you're okay with doing.
You want to rip it?
The podcast at some point soon will be diverted onto its own separate channel.
Oh, we're dropping the bomb right there, guys.
Yeah.
Boom.
Truth new.
Because I feel like we've committed that much to that idea, so it's going to happen.
It's not something we're backing out of.
Oh, no, no, no, no, definitely not.
But, yeah, I guess that's the first we've spoke of it, and first you've heard of it.
A few years too late, given the mass amount of, I mean, you have Aaron, you have Hunter,
Meat Canyon, giving us advice on what would help the channel and why the algorithm is being the way it is.
And not to, I guess, get too thick into it, but, you know, we're sometimes a little late to the game.
And in this case, for the benefit of the channel.
That's why people like it.
I know.
We feel like it's the right move.
So the collective audience that watches the podcast, which isn't a majority.
of the audience that watches stuff on our main channel can be fed that content specifically
and those who want it will show up in their feed and so for the super mega main feed matt and i
really want it to be more centered around the content that we're putting out much like we've
the sketches or the short like kind of live action slash animations we've been putting up
or gaming videos which we have one i'm really excited about that you're going to hear this
you know, unfortunately, we were supposed to be celebrating 9-11 this year.
It was wonderful for 9-11.
But we have several other videos that...
We promise.
No, I know people are tired of that, but we, Ryan was out of the country,
Mr. Drug Runner.
Smuggling.
Well, you little mule.
Okay.
No one's got me yet?
They're all going to think we're joking.
But, yeah, basically the video for,
that was supposed to be celebrating 9-11,
really big video.
And there was some, like, delays with the editing from other editors
and then handing it back and forth
between us and editors and trying to get it done.
And unfortunately, couldn't get it done for that deadline.
But it is...
Especially since this whole podcast thing,
there's
when we say
when it moves to a new channel
there is a surprise
for the first episode
that we don't think
any of you will
yes
it's a very big surprise
yeah
possibly the
biggest surprise
in a very long time
well it's not
it's about average
size
oh
yeah
I cut that part out
oh
I do I don't
I think revealing
yes
I see your point
where it's like
oh if I reveal my
when you revealed it
Eric Andre's done it
yeah
but again
the jackass guys
have done it
in the most
even recent jackass.
There's a whole like
penis bit.
Yeah,
no,
I know.
And showing your penis
is definitely a way
people will click.
They'll,
they'll,
but I think also,
especially with a new channel.
You see the thumbnail I made
for it and everything too?
No,
and honestly,
I want to commend you
you've gotten better
of Photoshop.
Thank you.
The lighting and like basically
the color correction you did
was great.
But I don't think we should,
I cut it out just because
I don't know,
man,
you don't want to show penis
stuff.
Okay.
No,
we'll talk about this after.
I didn't want to, I was gonna wait to tell you.
I just didn't want you promising something that we can't.
Yeah, sure.
Yeah, I get it.
I get, I do, yes.
But there's still the other surprise.
Yes.
The really big one.
And, uh, the handful of people that already know about this surprise, their flabbergast.
Their jaws dropped.
And they go, what?
Are you serious?
You got Ed Shee.
Brian.
Especially right now.
he is going with it
I mean this is coming out sued so
it is topical
it's one of the few moments where we are actually topical
and not three weeks off
and we told him it was a bad idea
for him to get political
and he cares a lot about what we think
so we host a debate between him
macklemore and Phineas
not from Phineas and Furb
no Billy Elish's brother
which when you told me Phineas
I was thinking
I was like, oh, is this like a bit where it's a guy that looks like Phineas and Furni from Fennius and I don't know if you were bringing in Jared or like an impersonator of Phineas or a mascot, but...
So you all have that episode to...
Now, is there any chance, Matt, that...
Because that is, that would be...
That would have been an entertaining episode outside of our budget in the realm of possibility as of now in terms of, you know, having a three-way debate between Ed Shear and McElmore and Phineas of Billy Eilish's brother's fame.
He's a famous producer.
Yes, yes.
I'm sure he would hate hearing that.
I mean, I'm a self-made producer, very talented, but whatever.
Sure, buddy.
Whatever you said.
My little sister, sure.
Well, I mean, who's more famous is all I got to say.
Exactly, Phineas.
Finneas, like, yeah, you had more time to become famous and look what you did.
Yeah, Billy Eilish took like snap of the finger, flick of the wrist, all of a sudden, boom, top of the charts.
Sorry, Phineas.
I mean.
That's just the real world.
Yeah, don't shoot the messenger.
And I may be a bit upset just because, like, while I agree with some of his viewpoints,
he was, he was a bit rude to Darwin when he came to the office.
Oh, my God.
It's kind of a Mark Wahlberg thing going on.
For those who don't know, Mark Wahlberg used to beat up Vietnamese people.
Yeah, you blinded a Vietnamese man.
Yes.
And Darwin is Vietnamese.
But, you know, we do crazy things when we're young.
You know, when people say that, I think of, like, jumping off a bridge without the second
and thought of the injuries it could cause yourself.
Doing like a backflip, like into some water
and be like, that was crazy.
Not a racial beating of a Vietnamese man that leaves some blind.
You know what I mean?
When you talk about young, like, mistakes you made.
It's like, oh, you know, I tried pot or I, you know,
it's like, you know, I went and shot fireworks off.
I tried to.
Set something on fire.
I tried to ride a motorized scooter over a,
over like a wooden bridge on a forest trail,
which I did and crashed it.
And it took off the front wheel and it was on my birthday.
And you were trying to...
I got it that same day and did that.
And I had to wheel it back home, embarrassed.
And I had the time out of it.
Wait, this really happened?
Yeah.
Oh.
But it was a stupid thing that I did when I was young.
You were trying to recreate the scene from Sorcerer.
I haven't seen the movie, but you've told me about it, so I can only assume it's the truck full with explosives.
There's like a 20-minute scene of them just trying to get this truck across a bridge.
And like, it's one of the craziest most tense scenes I've ever seen in my life.
No, this is pretty fast.
I was like, you know, I was riding it.
I was on a gravel trail going into the like a wooded little small like walking trail in our neighborhood.
There's a wooden bridge that, you know, goes over a small river.
And I was like, I'm just going to do, do, do.
The minute I went up, the wheel turned right and I just right into the side of the bridge.
Because it's like a like a bump up.
Uh-huh.
Oh, dude, I know exactly that type of, that type of scooter wreck you're talking about.
And the wheel came off.
Was that it for it?
Was it able to be fixed?
Uh, it took a bit.
Like, you know, it was, as I said, it was literally the ride that I was like, Mom, can I go ride this around?
It's like, sure.
I go off, not even like half an hour later.
But don't you crash it, Ryan.
Yeah, be careful.
That was not careful, I guess.
Not, but dude, come on.
How old were you?
I want to say.
Like a teenager or?
No, I must have been like, I'm trying to think.
This must have been like middle school.
Yeah, dude.
I mean, like, what do you expect, though?
You give a middle school boy an electric scooter and say,
happy birthday, go have some fun.
Are you not supposed to fucking,
when you see a wooden bridge going over some water in the woods,
what are you just not going to ride your motorized scooter over that?
What's a southern honky to do but want to cross that bridge?
Exactly.
In epic, like, dukes of hazard fashion.
Are you not going to, like, seriously,
do we expect you to pull up to the bridge, slow down, stop,
get off, and then walk alongside your scooter like a pansy over the bridge?
I mean, I did end up doing that after because I did not have faith in myself that I could pull it off again.
Oh, so in the future you?
I didn't get off, but I did the whole like turtle walk or like waddle across the bridge with it.
That's all right.
But you see, see, if you had done that without the crash happening in the first place, I call you a pansy.
But the fact that, see, that's just smart.
That's evolution in play, Ryan.
Yeah.
I found my limits and I and I readjusted the mathematics.
Equanimical equations in my head of like, you know, like when in the show or movie, I can't remember which one it is. Whenever Sherlock solving something, you have all those math equations going on. That was going on when I was like driving the scooter to the bridge the first time. Those equations changed the second time. They changed, but now they had a working solution. Yes. You found X. Exactly. And now you could cross safely. And no one's going to call you a pansy for that. I feel like this scooter thing was just a small example that I was giving where we were talking about.
a larger subject.
Absolutely, and I don't remember it all.
Finius, Ed Sheeran.
Finneas being rude to Darwin.
Oh, then it was the Mark Wahlberg.
And then we went from Mark Wahlberg.
Oh, that's right, that's right.
We went for Mark Wahlberg's racist.
We were saying you like, you do crazy things when you're out.
Okay, okay, okay.
See? Okay.
And Mark Wahlberg, his crazy thing was taking a bunch of PCP
and then blinding a Vietnamese man with a golf club.
But it wasn't the,
No, I think it happened multiple times.
Not the blinding of someone, but he did go after someone.
Sorry.
It makes you sick to your stomach.
Yeah.
I almost threw up.
I would like to hear Darwin's thoughts on that incident.
Here's an excerpt from actually Darwin's biography about the thinniest situation.
That's unreleased that we can give you a first glimpse at.
It's narrated by Darwin too.
Today was an important day for Super Mega.
Matt and Ryan made sure to reinforce that there would be no fuck-ups,
or they have my head on a spike.
Three major podcast guests were coming to the office to record a special debate episode.
MacLamore, Ed Sheeran, and the Phineas.
And of course, Phineas was the first to arrive.
I've always idolized what he and his sister did for the entertainment industry.
You could say I was a bit of a Phineas head.
That was, until he poked his head into the...
editing room and introduced himself. I told him my name, but he of course didn't tell me his.
I let him tell me, though, as to not step on his toes and make him feel uncomfortable. I didn't
want to ruin such an important episode of the podcast for Matt and Ryan. What happened next? I couldn't
have predicted. The music producer Phineas turned around, pulled his jorts down, and spread his
his whole opened lightly to let out a brief puff of wind and then shuffled away
george still around his ankles laughing to himself it was cruel almost while bergean
in intent it was at that moment i knew phineas of music producing fame didn't take me seriously
and if he didn't take me seriously then who would i'm excited i cannot wait for that whole thing to
come out that's going to be a really great uh audio book audio buy audio audio
book autobiography.
The title,
My Name Darwin.
But yeah,
we have big surprise coming.
And as Ryan said,
a lot of other...
This has been a decision
that we thought about for a really long time
because we do
know that
not
obviously not all
super mega viewers
watch the podcast.
It's like a percentage of super...
Like, you guys listening
are the cool ones.
You guys are like
the smaller percentage
of the super mega...
Your minorities.
Yeah.
You guys are a minority group.
Right?
Right, yeah.
Technically speaking.
Technically, yes.
Not even technically.
You guys are minorities, yeah.
You guys are our
beloved minority group
and...
Gotta be protected.
Yes.
And we got to give you a
safe space to interact without getting in the weeds with all, you know, the let's play your heads.
Oh, the let's play heads. You don't want to, guys, trust me. I've been there. You don't want to,
you do not want to get in the weeds with them. Or even the, even the sketch heads. The ones who show up
just for the sketches. You know, to me, those are no better than CEOs. And when I say CEO, I mean
Christmas and Easter only. Those bastards that only go to church on Christmas and Easter.
It's like, you're still going to hell, by the way. No, 100%.
I mean, my family went every Sunday.
Oh, same.
Well, on my mom's side.
I never went the church.
My dad never took me the church, I think.
And that's why he's going to hell.
Unfortunately, yeah.
It sucks. It sucks, unfortunately.
It's the truth of it, though.
But yeah, you guys will have your own little safe space.
But really, it's a lot of other YouTubers have told us for a while now, like.
Years.
Yeah, years.
Like, especially Meat Canyon.
He's like, it was that trip where we said we got the,
that reinvigored feeling
of not passion
but like wanting to like
really get this shit up and running
because you know he's like
I mean I just really think you guys
need to move the podcast to his own channel
I mean why are you still fucking putting it on Super Mega
and we're like
I just
because I guess it is kind of a scary change
because it's like well it's always been on Super Mega
and if we move it then it's like
we can't really go back from that
but
we have a plan
We're excited and we think it's we think you guys are going to love it and then it's algorithmically going to be pushed to
people like the people watching it are YouTube will know who to serve it to because right now
we upload a bunch of different types of content and YouTube's algorithm is not sure
how to feed it to people because some people only come and watch the podcast and that's a long watch time and then some people
you know, we'll upload a two-minute video.
And the algorithm is like, well, what's this? Who cares?
So this will be cool.
And if you're a regular super mega viewer
and you get annoyed by the notifications
and seeing the podcast clips and the podcast,
guess what? You don't have to anymore.
Yeah, no more ho-humming three podcasts in a row?
What the F? I don't like this stuff.
Yeah.
I don't like this nonsense.
We're doing this for you.
Okay.
And, yeah, Hunter, that trip to Kansas City for the...
Actually, I don't think we've...
Have we done an episode of the podcast yet?
Just you and me where it's...
Talking about that.
Talking about the video.
It's more so, like, I'm fine to talk about the video,
but I'd really want to save a lot of that
for when we get Hunter on as I guess.
Yeah, that's true.
But I guess bottom line, that trip, trips.
So you went out there three times for the video.
I went out there too.
I forgot about the first trip where we went.
For the prosthetics?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Got everything like kind of to try it on so they can make final adjustments.
But, yeah, I mean, just going there and seeing his setup.
And he's just got such a cool setup.
And also, like, he's just got such an enormous amount of, like, talent and passion.
And I think it's, it's as much as this obviously is a dream job.
You know, it's easy to get sometimes burnt out.
As with, like, anything, I think, if you do it long enough, sometimes you hit.
Just, you know, with shit going on in your personal life or just X, Y, or Z, it's easy to sometimes just kind of get burnt out and feel uninspired.
tired.
Taking on most of the responsibility for like editing and scheduling and the ins and outs
of like how the office works.
We're trying to, and I know, it's always ever changing.
And you've probably heard this a billion times from us before.
But we're, you know, we're a small team so we can really only do so much.
And I feel like a lot of the problem that Matt and I face is that like our ambitions lie
far outside of a four-person team.
and our ambitions also have more of an expedient outcome than reality permits.
Yeah, yeah, definitely.
And also, like, I mean, at least the way my brain works is, you know,
I will get a bunch of ideas at once and get super excited and then not,
I have a tough time following through finishing them
or figuring out how to stay focused on the right one.
And just going out to Kansas City and seeing,
you know, another
creator that we're friends with
have
shit together a lot more
and also just like
have a pretty solid vision
of like what they want to make
and what they're making
just really like kind of
it really did
put our feet to the flames
because you and I had
then we had a big conversation
I remember you were in your
Jeff the Killer makeup
and it was just you and me
while they were shooting some other stuff
and we had some time alone
not sexually
but I remember we had a really long...
In this case, yeah.
We had a really long talk.
This wasn't the cornfield.
No.
We don't need to get into that, but...
Talking about cornhole.
Yeah.
Or cornholing.
Country boys make do.
But we had a big talk
just about like, you know,
we've been stagnating.
We're older.
We only have so much time.
That's a big thing too.
Like both of us hitting our 30s and numbers and everything just kind of being lower than they've ever been.
It kind of was just a big wake-up call because, I mean, we've been aware of that for a while.
And it's not that we haven't known what we need to do to get things where they need to be.
It's more so like we just haven't really, like, been able to figure out how to do it.
It's a constant for me, at least my point of view, it was always a constant of us trying to get something up and running and going, us getting it to a point where like it's like three-fourths there and then us having to focus on something else, losing track of that past thing.
And like whether it be like, oh, we have the backlog podcast because we have trips coming up.
Oh, what about this other video that we want?
Let's at least shoot that.
But we also have to remember we got to keep this video added.
Let's send it off to someone.
They end up not being able to like take on the full extent of the video.
There's just a lot of things that come into play.
and we're really trying to make sure that, you know, one,
we're not trying to burden a lot of the responsibility of the production of stuff
as we were because I do feel like that was a,
that's what kept a lot of things from coming out.
It's because we'd get distracted and try to work on this one thing
and then get distracted with another thing.
And I, and...
Another one.
Hey!
Come on, you know.
And I mean, self-immittedly, I think,
I, for a very long time
and, you know,
not perfectly fixed now, but
I think I served as a really big bottleneck
to Super Mega 2.
Yep.
Yeah, so
we just hired Darwin.
We brought Darwin on full time, so now we
officially are a team of four, because before
Darwin was just kind of, you know,
we were just getting cheap labor out of them.
Yeah, just some eye candy to keep around.
I didn't know he could actually do some, well, I know he
could put in some work, but I didn't know he could do some work.
You should seem with a broom.
Good gracious.
Well, I've seen those videos.
Woo!
Goes deep right.
Where he takes the end off.
Okay.
It's kind of like a requiem for a dream situation.
I've seen the one where, you know, flips it around.
You're like, no.
Oh, dude.
And it's on.
He chimney sweeps?
He does, and he actually talks about it in his autobiography.
Here's an excerpt.
People bullied me all my life.
for my hobbies. So at a young age, I learned to keep them close to the chest. Secrets only I could
explore, while others were none the wiser. In my adult years, my hobbies became more nuanced
and particular. An example that comes to mind would be my newfound talent for chimney sweeping.
And no, I'm not talking about the chimney sweep, Bert and Mary Poppins, played by actor and longtime
friend Dick Van Dyke. I'm talking about the carnal act of taking a broomstick, turning it around
broomside and for nangling that sucker to fit inside of my anus. Sounds easy, right? Well, as the
pictures on the next page will demonstrate, it was anything but. But yeah, I know you guys, you guys have,
you guys have, uh, heard it all, but we'll allow us to show you. Um, and at the end of the day, uh,
we, you know, we were never business heads before all this. We were like, we were two dumbasses
from South Carolina
that liked making
YouTube videos
like a couple of
freaking dorks
and making each other laugh
and luckily
somehow making other people laugh
and
being the head of a business
was not our priority.
Right.
So now in our early 30s
running and maintaining a business
is still something
we're not great at
but we're learning
and we're actually trying
we have some fire
under our asses, and I will say, like, the last month or so has been the most organized and
efficient we've been. Because it really was able to get jump started in August, like the beginning
of August. And like, I know, we have been so unbelievably busy and hard at work for like over
the last month, but I realize like it doesn't really reflect on the outside right now.
No, it's like the interior of the channel. There's a lot going on. Oh, my God. And just see the
office, which we should probably just give a little
office tour at some point, even if it's
just for Patreon or whatever.
But I was talking to the, Darwin,
I want to do a third, I want to get that
third, like a third office vlog. Yeah,
we should. Because we finally, this room's coming together.
We didn't even show it in the last one.
No, we've got, we've got
some really cool office developments.
And God, it feels good. It feels so
good to finally have the office
be coming together.
Like, it's that classic.
It was stuck at like,
70 or 80% for the longest time.
It's like we have so much amazing fan art and cool stuff
we could put on the walls and we just haven't.
We have like so many,
we have so much space that we could utilize better.
Like the streaming room and other places for,
what is that squeaking?
Is that me?
I'm down a whole long.
What is that?
It's not you.
Is the air conditioning?
Dude, is there a bird in here?
Is there a bird in the vent?
This sounds like more...
Hold on.
Wait, what?
Hold up.
Guys, we gotta take a commercial break.
We'll figure this out.

Dustin, from Sacred Symbols here,
you know when you're in the middle of a heavy recording session,
editing a show, or just trying to get real work done
on the go and your laptop starts slowing down or burning up in your lap. It's the worst. So,
what does it actually feel like to switch over to a better laptop like the Dell XPS powered by
Intel Core? For starters, it's built with a premium design that's incredibly thin and light. So it feels
smooth, meaning far less weight on your shoulders when you're packing up for travel. Then you
open it up and the responsive touchscreen makes scrolling, zooming, and swiping feel completely
fast and precise. Everything just flows. Best of all, with its long-lasting, bad,
battery life, it feels like non-stop energy. You get a better way to work without being chained to a
charger all day. Built for those who want better. The DellXPS built for you. Hey, I'm Mike Barronholz.
On my new show, funny you ask, trivia starts the conversation and then things immediately go off
the rails. I ask a question. My guests think they know the answer. Sometimes they do. More often,
they do not. And then the conversation takes a turn. One trivia question turns to
into stories about career highs, painful bombs, and behind-the-scenes moments that probably should
have remained private. You'll hear confidence, misplaced confidence, bold guesses, wrong answers,
quick laughs, and the slow realization that maybe this was a bad idea to say out loud.
If you like smart comedy, sharp conversations, and trivia that exists purely to melt people's
brains, this is Funny You Ask with me, Ike Barrenholz. Follow Funny You Ask with Ike Barronholtz on

Guess who's back?
Back again.
Yes, who's back?
Tell a friend.
Guess who's back?
Guess who's back?
Guess who's back?
Guess who's back?
Guess who's back?
Guess who's back?
Guess who's back?
That's hard.
That goes deep.
Like, if you, and that's the thing that sucks about that,
is if you start doing that,
that line
and if you haven't calculated
the lowest depth yet
and you start at the wrong depth
you're locked in
it's gonna be cringe if you fumble that
right because if you start like
guess who's back
but you gotta go all the way
to that lowest octave
you're gonna go and you're like
you probably realize right away
you're like oh but I can't restart it now
man I'm stuffy
what's going on
I just think it's that post travel
like you know how sometimes you'll get like a 24 to 72 hours
or just almost like cold, but I don't have a fever or anything.
It's just like a post-travel bug.
Yeah.
I hear it.
So, I didn't notice it before.
It's in my throat.
I'm sniffly.
Yeah.
So I'm sorry, audience, that I'm sniffling and swallowing mucus.
Dude.
You're perfect just the way you are.
Just the way you are.
Dude, that was reminding me of that video.
Do you remember that?
Is where you smile.
It's a classic video of that guy.
singing to his girlfriend.
Oh, God.
I forgot completely about that.
I don't even think that's like a viral video.
I don't even know how we found that, but it's a video.
Some of you guys might know it.
I don't even, I got to look up how to find that video.
But it's like a webcam video from like maybe like 2010 of this guy with his girlfriend.
And he's like, I got a surprise for you, baby.
And she looks at him.
And she's like, I'm scared.
And then he starts just singing.
like looking her just dead in the eye
just
And when you smile
The whole world stops
And stares for a while
And she's staring
You're amazing
And they kiss
Hey guys
Hi
This is a
I really can't upload
A recorder rap right now
But I'm gonna just do something
Just tied you guys over
And she doesn't even know this is coming
So
I don't I really don't know what's happening
That's what I'm doing
What?
I'm afraid.
Don't think.
When I see your face, it's not a thing that I would change because you're amazing.
Just the way you are.
And then he does the second chorus and you're like, oh God.
Have you seen that? It reminds me because it's another couple video where it's like...
Hey baby.
It's like, are you enjoying that Chinese food I got you?
Oh, dude, I love that one.
And the guy looks like he's being held captive.
What are we doing?
Eating Chinese food.
And we're going to save some leftovers, right?
Yep.
Dude, that has to be a joke video.
Like, I watch it and I'm like, this is too good to be true.
Like, his face is just so...
God, that video, he's so good at, like, just this...
Looks like how I look in like the gas station in Japan when I'm doing like the toddler like in trouble look.
Yes, exactly.
In our vlogs.
It's literally like it looks like it looks like someone just got put on the spot in front of an audience.
I'm going to see if I could just find that.
Eating Chinese food.
Yep.
And like he keeps having these little micro expressions of sudden fear it looks like where he's like.
Who has the best girlfriend ever?
I do.
Who just bought you all this stuff?
She did.
And all this stuff?
My girl bought all of it and I'm about to eat this and then we're going to chow on that after.
So I'm happy to do.
Yeah.
But we're not eating at all.
Just know that because we've got to save some.
Yeah.
You know?
Budget cuts, you know?
Happy.
Save, save, save.
you know
so we're going to scoff this stuff down
because
because boo deserved it
you know
even though we get in our arguments sometimes
I still love you okay
I love you too
yeah you better
I just spent some money on you
yeah
what a time we have
I know this is a
incredible time filled with
anger hate pain
Well, not the podcast.
Not this office.
Just the world outside of the podcast.
Oh, yeah.
But guys, that's why we create this bubble for you all to climb inside with us and go on these magical
adventures inside our minds.
So even though the world outside is cruel and gray and things are, things suck and get more
expensive and they're just do-do feces all over the wall, you get to still always enjoy your
time with the funny brothers, especially on the new channel coming up.
We're not trying to be divisive intentionally to gain money.
We're just stupid at our core.
And you guys like it.
Most people that are divisive to gain money are also stupid.
We're only stupid.
Exactly.
We're not divisive to gain money.
If we were smarter, maybe.
Our stupidity carries, well, you know, maybe if we were, here's the problem.
We're just stupid.
So maybe that's not where the money is.
maybe you need to be like antagonistically stupid
and that's where the money lies.
Oh absolutely, that's where the money lies, dude.
But no, I don't want to give them credit.
I was going to say the people that are
come off as antagonistically stupid.
I'm like, are they smart to some degree
for knowing how to do that?
But I'm like, no, it's not like a fucking calculated thing.
No, that's just how they are.
I think it's the same.
I don't look at it as like they'd be more smart
because they're calculating that.
I view it as like their personal.
I just see it as like their personality is the same type where you're out trick or treating for Halloween.
You arrive out of a house where obviously they're out for the night or the weekend because who knows they're on vacation or doing something.
But they have a little sign that says one piece per trick or treater.
They're the type of people who just take a fucking handful just because they're a shitty person at their core.
Or they dump the whole fucking bowl in their bag.
That happened.
Really?
Yeah, that happened in real life.
you believe that kind of thing happened
I've ever seen stuff like that
like um
that happened to my house actually
I'd like uh
it'd be on like roar
uh ring doorbell
video cameras
ring
dude that's such a tattletail
ass thing to post on the on the ring
doorbell app like this teenager
took more than one piece of Halloween candy
and it's like
I get it
it would piss me off too
but like I don't want to get the fucking
ring doorbell notifications
that are supposed to be for like
emergency
like
creeps in the neighborhood, like casing out houses just to see some fucking like...
Someone stole my twigs!
Some 15-year-old taking like a whole handful of candy out of a bowl.
I'm like, okay, awesome.
Call the police about it.
Dude, I got a crazy notification the other day.
Push your mic.
Hold on.
That was good.
That was good, Ryan.
Very good.
Well, we had to leave the room for that one, but...
Woo!
Got the mind of a, the comedy mind of a genius right there.
Or a genius.
Well, same thing.
The same thing.
Mncia,
as far as I know,
Mncia just means genius in Spanish.
I mean, look at him.
Yeah.
He's on the wall right there.
We have a,
actually,
that is like the only wall decoration
in the entire podcast set.
Like,
the podcast set looks dope,
but the walls are pretty,
they're gray and barren,
except for a giant mind of Mincea poster.
and it looks great.
It's actually a custom one we had made for a sketch.
For the blue sketch.
The blue sketch.
Because there's blue and cave.
There's blue and cave.
God, do I regret.
Yeah.
Teasing those the way, you know,
because now it's just,
what happened to cave and blue?
Cave and blue are never coming out.
They better be fucking, dude.
Oh, yeah.
It's just like, again,
we were talking about, like,
delegating, like, time to certain things
and some things have to, like, fall to the side.
It's unfortunate.
Guys, we're bad at time management.
That is the
kind of the bottom line here
We don't have like
You know
An assembly line of editors
Waiting you know that that are gonna like whip stuff out
You can if you are a really good editor
So miss your portfolio with spam of funnybrothers.com
If you feel like you can handle
Can you match our friends?
Can you because because that's we're trying to stay we're trying to do something
New and
I was about to say invasive
That's not the word I'm looking for
Definitely not invasive.
New and innovative.
Innovative.
I was also, dude, it's so funny because whenever you forget a word, it makes me forget the word.
And I can't think of it either.
Like yesterday we were in here.
And you were trying to think of the word rehabilitate.
And you were like, what is it called?
Like in prison where they want you to, and I was like, it starts with an R.
But then I couldn't think of it.
I mean, every time it's like, there's something about when you forget a word,
it flashes it from my brain because our brains are.
Is that, do you think it's connected to that whole thing
where it's like, name ten movies you like
and all of a sudden you're like, uh, name 10 women.
Um, exactly.
Sarah, Cindy.
Cindy.
I almost said Lewis.
Well, you could literally just say Lewis, Lewis, Lewis, Lewis, Lewis, Lewis, Lewis, Lewis, Lewis.
Lewis and Lewis.
There are definitely 10 women named Lewis out there.
Maybe Lois.
No, dude, on earth, there are 10 women named Lewis.
True.
Because like, at the end of the day, I mean,
What, gender and stuff?
It's a social construct.
So we're names.
So, I mean, who gives a fuck?
I'm sure there's a woman named Matthew,
beautiful woman named Matthew.
Probably.
I know that, I know,
Ryan is one of those that can slightly...
It can be a girl's name.
Go over.
Because there was a girl in my youth group.
I knew of Ryan.
Yeah, when I was younger, there was a girl named Ryan.
Hey, I'm sitting next to one.
Hey, come on.
Ha!
I'm giving that a very serious face.
I'm staring daggers into his soul right now
Those you can't see
Look away, please, I don't like that
That hurt
I can feel the daggers
And I would like to apologize
I appreciate the apology
I'm very sorry
Thank you
I didn't mean to say that
With the like intonation going upwards
Because then that makes it sound like I'm unsure
I didn't take it as such
Because I know your character
And I know you meant it wholeheartedly
Thank you I appreciate that
You're welcome
It feels like a Dax Flame
Have you ever watched
You have like
Dax Flame had like a short-lived podcast where it was hosted by him and this girl named Marley.
And they would have guests on like Brent Rivera, Rivera.
Rivera.
And it would just be like these like five minute episodes where they'd be like, so Brent, what was it like making this video?
He'd be like, it was actually very fun.
And Dax would be like, that's very interesting.
And like I was like, it was the conversation was incredible.
I'd like to have them on
I would love to have Dax
Would you guys like to see that?
Would you like to see Dax Flame
On the Super Mega Podcast?
Who would y'all like to see?
Actually, yeah.
Oh yeah, like you guys were ever going to get guests
Well, we just told you we had three
And we might need to cut that episode
Since we spoiled it
Yeah, I mean, I don't think that could come out
So we're going to have to use our backup episode
With the less popular guest
Yeah
As our first episode
Yeah
still a guest
it'll still be a surprise I guess
yeah
but it
it's no Ed Sheeran
Maclemore and Phineas
no
what a what a eclectic group
how did you what did you come with Finn
what it's because I saw a Twitter
that he cancelled his showings with Ed
Shearid because of everything going on
okay a lot of people are
so my brain just threw him in there
I saw I saw multiple other openers also pulled out
Ed Shearin done mess with the wrong crowd
motherfucker
You'd think someone so meek and pussyfooted would, I don't know, wouldn't do this, right?
But I mean, that's sarcasm.
That's sarcasm.
Okay, okay.
I thought you were being serious at first.
I was like, you just described you're actually.
No, yeah.
And he released a statement today.
It was horrible.
I thought, one love.
Ed Shearne released his new statement.
Just says one love and it's him throwing up a peace sign.
It was like guitar.
Hey, I mean, today kind of makes me feel ashamed that I got the same tattoo as Ed Sheeran.
Well, I was telling you earlier today, at least now you can ride high knowing you have the better tattoo.
Dude.
Because he got his colored in because he was afraid that people wouldn't recognize it without the color.
You got more of a stencil, which is one, cooler in general.
I look at it as the difference between a regular matted controller, gaming controller and a see-through gaming controller.
wow, really. Yeah. Thank you. And I'm the...
It's like you see the blueprint. Oh, thank you, dude. That's really, that really means a lot.
Ed Shearne has some awful tattoos, which is why when you discovered that Ed Shear,
I think you discovered it, right? Yeah. Because the first tattoo I ever got was, is Blinky,
the three-eyed fish from the Simpsons. Because I, I love the Simpsons since I was a little kid,
and I never got a tattoo before. And I was like, yeah, why not? So I have the, I have it on my arm.
And one day you discovered, you were looking at shirtless pictures of Ed Shearing.
As I do.
As you do.
There's a lot of them, believe it or not, out there.
Thank God, too.
Luke throws some of those in.
Yeah, he has the fucking fish tattoo.
And I was not happy when you, A, discovered that and showed me.
And B, continuously would bring it up.
Made that revelation to our audience.
And then continuously as well.
because now people reference my
they're like,
oh, you have the Ed Shearing tattoos.
I like,
because then it sounds like I have an Ed Shearant tattoo.
It's a bad day for people with Ed Shearin tattoos.
I'll tell you what.
Dude, he was in Game of Thrones.
And this is what he does?
For God.
He was also in yesterday.
As himself.
As rock legend, Ed Shearin.
That's what the first time he's been himself in a movie, I feel.
Is he in the Big Bang Theory?
I mean, Elon Musk was in the Big Bang Theory.
He was in Young Sheldon as well.
I forget.
Yes, dude.
And he plays an evil version of himself.
In Young Sheldon?
Dude, do you know what he does in Young Sheldon?
Uh-uh.
Does he...
That's right, he steals Young Sheldon.
Because Young Sheldon was the one who figured out the rocket propulsion shit.
Yeah.
And then Elon Musk goes,
interesting.
And then he steals Young Sheldon's blueprints for the rocket ship to fly to Mars.
And then there's a whole arc.
where Elon, there's a whole thing.
Did you watch Young Sheldon?
Yes.
Did you?
Yeah.
When?
No, I've seen that episode though.
Oh.
And Young Sheldon basically...
When did you sit down and watch a Young Sheldon episode?
Are you a cop?
What's going on?
I'm just like, when...
When did you sit down and watch a Young Sheldon episode, young man?
For me, I learned all this, I learned all this through clips on TikTok.
I learned it while just enjoying the television.
They hit television show Young Sheldon.
Come across it on a streaming platform.
click it, and then you just choose a random episode, not like episode one starting from his season, just...
No, the one with Elon.
No, no, I sawed it out.
Oh.
Yeah.
Okay.
I wanted...
It was after I saw Elon on SNL, and I, I knew that...
You gotta see more of the genius.
I knew this was a funny guy.
And I was like, you know what?
I got to see what else he's been in.
Go on his IMDB.
Lo and behold, the show I have been dying to watch, young Sheldon.
What about Hung Sheldon?
It's not the same character.
I just want to go ahead and point that out.
It's post Big Bang Theory.
It's after the Big Bang Theory.
See, Young Sheldon was before.
There's the Big Bang Theory.
And then after the events of the Big Bang Theory.
It's Youngshel.
Yeah, you learn about Hung Shelton.
And life's a little different form.
He gets a procedure later because his wife is nagging him about how unsurprising and unmaraculous.
The sex has been.
Right.
And he kind of pulls
like an RJ Burger thing
where it's like
yeah it's the dorky white guy
but he's got a huge penis
Yeah
You know
What a show man
I watched it
When it was airing on MTV
I really liked that show
And I watched it
The Big Bang Theory
No
RJ Burger
Oh
Okay
But like
That wasn't on fucking MTV
Looking back
I never watched that show
Dude I saw the clip of him
In the gym
When his pants fell down
And the whole student body
sees his big
Gynormous penis
Sees the big
ginormous penis
Of a high school
student. That's the thing though. It's like
that show like... Because we were in like middle school
or something at the time. I was in ninth grade.
Oh, damn. Oh. Was RJ Burger when we were in high school?
For some reason I figured that was like a middle school show or something.
It only lasted like a season or two. Three seasons.
What? Or two. And dude, you know what sucks?
They canceled it between seasons after the biggest cliffhanger of the show.
And I was like, oh man.
Wait, his penis is even bigger?
I liked that show, but looking back, it's like, oh, of course a fucking, like, ninth grader would love the show about like a dorky white dude.
Guess what?
He has a huge cock.
It's like the premise is written by a high schooler, essentially.
Written by like a dork in high school that got bullied that's like, nope, but like, what if I had a huge penis?
Yeah, you might push me in a lockers, but what if I, you, what if you pants me and saw that my dick was huge?
I bet you wish you would have pants me.
Go ahead.
Try.
Yeah.
You guys got to watch Hung Sheldon, though.
It's insane.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, depending on it, seems like, you know, with a lot of the funding that we get from the patrons,
we could just make a Hung Sheldon movie ourselves.
Who would play?
Would it be Jim Parsons still?
I don't know.
Why do I know his name?
Because he's a...
He's been in things.
You were going to say famous actor.
You stop yourself.
Anyway, I don't know why, because he...
He's famous.
He's very famous.
He's super famous.
He's fucking Sheldon from the Big Bank Theory.
He's just not like his name as an actor, I guess is not like a household name.
Like you recognize him, but like he's one of those actors that everyone recognizes,
but like you're not necessarily going to know his name.
He played a creep where he like forced a dude to blow him.
And hung Sheldon.
No, in like in some like I feel like it was not American horror story.
It was some show where he was playing like some Hollywood exec type or something.
He was?
You told me about this scene like way back before.
What?
I did?
I don't think I did because I don't know about this.
Yes.
You told me.
Unless I completely forgot.
Was like, dude,
Sheldon forces a guy to blow him.
I was like, what?
Hold up.
Does Sheldon force?
I don't think Sheldon did it.
No, no.
It's not, it's not Sheldon.
And it wasn't Jim Parsons.
No, no.
It was the character he was playing.
It was like a Hollywood schmuck,
like a piece of shit.
Hollywood exec.
Hollywood satanic fuck.
Does Jim,
Parson play?
Blow a dude?
Evil.
I was about the Halloween exec.
Damn it.
Hollywood exec.
Dude, that's the second time today
you've mixed up Halloween and Hollywood.
I'm sorry, man.
They're both so goofy.
You don't have to apologize.
I forgot I don't have internet service
so I can't see what show it was
or Jim Parsons goes,
yeah, you want this roll
and then has a guy blow him.
Well, his character.
Fuck.
Yeah, Jim Parsons
was, he said,
you want to be on the Big Bank theory?
You want to be on the Big Bank theory?
Luke, just go ahead and just put the clip in
because we can't pull it up.
So just go ahead and put that whole movie scene in
so people know what we're talking.
Don't put that movie scene in.
Oh, don't do that.
Awful.
Just for, in case, didn't clearly go.
Can you just tell me if it exists, Luke, through text?
Not like, don't text me.
You know, I'm probably out enjoying a movie.
The last thing I want to be bothered by is from a text from Luke.
Yeah.
Let's leave work at the door, Luke.
Okay.
Jeez.
I'll show you where to leave work, Luke.
spread my asshole. Picture that.
Picture me spreading my asshole.
Like, obviously that's where you're going
with that. So you...
But I brought up the patrons because you could probably
at least now see them scrolling.
Oh, absolutely, yeah. And these people
are our podcast producers and our executive
podcast producers. They receive
stickers in the mail each month. They get a bunch
of free... Not free.
They get a bunch of bonus content.
And if you don't want to be a podcast producer
and get stickers, that's fine. You can sign up
for the Funny Brother. Five bucks.
tier. Exactly. And you get access to all the shows and stuff. Yeah.
And you don't get your name. That's the podcast producer tier. Oh, is it only the exact?
I thought we there was no, no, no, no, no. Sorry, I got confused and thought for a second that
the names were only the executive producers. Okay. No, no, no, no, no. There's podcast producer and
executive producer. Yes. Very special. Yes. Um, also like we, we would, we've been kind of
spitballing about like
maybe the possibility
of in the future
if we were to like add more to the
executive producer tier on Patreon
what
would you guys
think would be worth it
or what is there anything
you guys could think of that you would like to
think of. Yeah. Not our
slash poll. I don't
think there. Or politics
or whatever it is. Or is
a poll of 4chan thing? You're using 4chan
read it right now. I have to poop and I'm just
speaking out of out of my ass at this
point. How about you go speak out of your ass into the
toilet? Okay. Okay. And to
prove that I'm not lying?
See?
Smell that. It smelled like, it would smell like shit.
Bye, everyone.
I have to shit.
Yeah, bye.
Don't walk in front of me.
Stop. That's from the back.
