an hour before you'd start to notice the salty sea air of beautiful Port Smith, New Hampshire. A port city nestled at the mouth of the Biscat Aquar River and Atlantic Ocean. In the daytime, Portsmouth is a popular tourist destination. As many people like to visit its historic seaport, take in the ocean views and stroll through its scenic walking trails. But when the sun sets, most travelers tend to make their way into the nearby city of Rochester. And it was in this city on the night of October 9, 2012 that a 44-year-old tarot card reader, Roberta Gherkin, saw that her cell phone was ringing, and the caller ID displayed the

number of her good friend Lex. It's like, stop bringing me, I don't want to be dealing with you right now. At the time of this police interview, Roberta Gherkin was a self-proclaimed professional psychic. And she had met her friend Lex about a year earlier at a Halloween haunted house, where Roberta had been hired to read tarot cards. Lex and Roberta quickly hit it off as Lex shared many of her spiritual beliefs. And while they never officially dated, they did have a short-lived friends with benefits kind of relationship,

if you know what I mean. Roberta and Lex eventually began dating other people, but even so they remained friends, and would occasionally meet to practice tarot card readings and chat about other mystical topics. But on this night, Roberta wasn't in a talkative mood, and she declined Lex's calls twice. Then Roberta noticed that Lex was calling her a third time, thinking that he must have something urgent to tell her. Roberta finally decided to answer.

But when she did, Lex wasn't on the line. Instead, Roberta heard the voice of Lex's girlfriend. She sounded frantic hectic and I need you to come over here. She said something and I wish I could remember the exact verbiage again. But there was almost like, she was trying to tell me some kind of code word as far as something something had gone wrong. Roberta told Lex's girlfriend that she would try to make it over to Lex's apartment and hung up the phone. Then Roberta went to her boyfriend Paul Hickock and told him about this strange call.

So my girlfriend is the phone call. From a friend whom I didn't know who this was yet, says that they need help apparently because when she get off the phone she says, this friend needs help and I says, all right, well, friend and he, it's friends and he, okay, let's go and I get up and we walk out the door. Roberta and Paul drove to Lex's apartment and when they arrived both Lex and his girlfriend met them in the hallway of the apartment complex. After being led into Lex's apartment, Paul and Roberta came upon a bizarre and horrifying scene. Lying on the floor, face up, was the naked body of a teenage girl, and

wrapped over her head were two layers of plastic shopping bags. Understandably, both Roberta and Paul wanted to know exactly what the hell happened. I think Roberta asked what happened, and he had said they were watching some movie on TV. Never said what was leading a bullshit explanation for why there was a dead naked teenager in his apartment floor Lex's girlfriend was in the kitchen. She was crying and muttering to herself while bald Euclosely in a fetal position on the kitchen floor. I think it was Paul that said We need to get the bags on her head I think it was Paul that said we need to get the bags on her head. Okay.

And when he pulled the bag off her head, was it tied on her head? Yeah, he grabbed around the bag and pulled it. Okay, I like broke it open. Okay, pulled it off her head. And that was when I lost my mind. There was a line around her throat with bag and then, okay, you know, some of mad and she knew fixated. And her face was purple, I mean, like a purple I've never seen before, okay.

When the plastic bags were removed, neither Roberta nor Paul recognized the teenage girl, but it was obvious that she was dead. And the harsh red line around her neck indicated that she had been strangled to death by a cord or rope. Did they mention how they were going to handle the situation? I don't remember exactly how it came up, but it was like, well, we have option A, which is called the ambulance and basically get taken care of that way.

And face the music as it were. And then he came up with the, or, I wish I could remember his exact furmage, but it was basically the Delta Body. But he seemed, I said, like you've got to make the call, you've got to do the right thing. Okay. And he says, I know, I've got to make the call. Okay, I said, so we're gonna leave right now. And it was left that when we left, I was under the impression that he was gonna call an ambulance. Roberta and Paul left Lex's apartment and they didn't call 911.

They did not report what they saw to police. Instead, they just kinda went home and went to bed. Is that something anyone in the right mind would do? The next day, about a hundred miles south of Lex's New Hampshire apartment in the quiet town of Westboro, Massachusetts, 22-year-old Brittany Atwood decided to contact her girlfriend, who was uncharacteristically

not responding to phone calls or texts. So when I even got back to my apartment, I had dinner, I was watching something on TV, I was texting her constantly. So then that night, I ended up going to bed and I didn't hear from her and I'm like, I was getting a little scared, I was like, well maybe it's because she got back really late and didn't want to call me because I was sleeping, she thought I was sleeping because she's respectful like that. And then I got up in the morning and I'm like, should I was sleeping? Because she's respectful like that.

And like up in the morning and I'm like, no text or call. This is not good. Like that never happens. Brittany Atwood and her girlfriend Lizzie lived about a hundred miles apart. They were in an exclusive long distance relationship, which is never easy.

But they managed to keep it together by seeing each other every weekend and communicating by phone daily. In fact, Brittany and Lizzie usually spoke on the phone for at least an hour every night before going to bed. But on the night of October 9th, 2012, Lizzie didn't answer her phone and wasn't responding to texts. The next morning, there was still no response from her. Thinking that Lizzie may have lost her phone, Brittany went about her day. But when Day Turn to Night and Lizzie still hadn't reached out, Brittany knew something was very wrong.

When I actually ended up calling Lizzie's dad that night, it was late, and I felt really bad. It was like 11.30, but I was like freaking out, and I'm like, have you guys heard from Lizzie? Wednesday night, Brittany called. And I'm like, have you guys heard from Lizzie? Wednesday night, Brittany called. And you know, it was very apologetic, I'm so late at night, but said she was very concerned because Lizzie had not been in touch for a while. Lizzie is a full-time student at UNH, correct?

And she's 19 years old? Yes. OK. Elizabeth Lizzie Marriott grew up in Westboro, Massachusetts with her two loving parents and equally loving brother. To her family and friends, Lizzie was known and beloved for her sweet, bubbly, and caring personality. She would go, and she would say frauds in the pool. Anything.

It was a snail. She'd go save it. That's how that's the type of person that Lizzy was. I forgot to mention that early, but she loves living things. And people. She'd go on a way to help people too. And she's an eye for the dimension. She's also very smiley, giggly person, so.

Right. Always positive. Lizzy was especially kind-hearted, always beaming with positivity. And she was smart, too. She loved to share her seemingly endless knowledge of aquatic life with anyone who would listen, which was something Lizzie developed a passion for at a young age. When she was 15, Lizzie enrolled in a marine biology program in Northeastern University's Marine Science Center and instantly realized what she was destined to become.

It changed her life. Because often then, she was good at English, but she hated math, she hated science, and then she got the bug for, hey, this marine biology, it's really neat. She's always loved critters, frogs, spiders. I mean, she, anything that's alive, she's always loved. Yeah.

And the marine biology was like, wow, this is what I really love. And it allowed her to realize that, hey, you know, putting my time into the sciences and the math and school, our work's going to enable me to become marine biologists. Lizzie wanted to be a marine biologist. And at the age of 19, after one year of community college, she was accepted into the Marine Biology Program at the University of New Hampshire. Not coming from an especially wealthy family, Lizzie wanted to lower her tuition costs and subsequent student debt. So she decided to forego the college dorm life experience and move into the home of her aunt and uncle who coincidentally lived

near the UNH campus. And so Lizzie would have moved up here with her aunt and uncle when she was embarking on going to school. Correct, okay. And so, you know, it was great because she was with P.O. and she's loved her cousins loved her aunt and uncle along. So she was still at home, she was still living at home.

I was at a different home. Right. They gave her a beautiful room at the top of the house, that's all there was. So I mean, So I mean, it was a very nice environment they gave her to live in. Lizzie had an especially supportive family, with two loving parents and Massachusetts and a generous and equally loving aunt and uncle in New Hampshire. Lizzie was poised for success since she worked towards her college degree and life aspiration of becoming a marine biologist. But because Lizzy lived off campus, she struggled to meet new people and make new friends.

And this was a concern for Lizzy's mother. to have lunch with, you know, you've been studying with anybody, just as soon as she was forming any relationships up there. And I was just sad that she wasn't, you know, having like that on a campus dorm kind of college experience. There was also another reason why Lizzie was missing out on the full-blown college experience. Her job. When Lizzie wasn't traveling a hundred miles to see her girlfriend or studying to become a marine biologist, she was

stalking shelves and helping customers at the nearby target. Lizzie just didn't have enough time to attend UNH Pep rallies or go to all-night keggers. She was busy and meeting new people took a back to see everything else she had going on. Lizzie did however manage to keep a few friends at Target, and she had talked about those friends with her girlfriend Brittany. So then I woke up that next morning and her dad called me back and that's when things started. And I was like, this batch was there.

I immediately went on Facebook. The two people I thought of Nate and Kat. Okay. Nathan McNeil and Kat McDonough were both former co-workers of Lizzie's. And shortly before her disappearance, Lizzie had made separate plans with both of them. The day after Lizzie went missing, she was supposed to have lunch with Nathan McNeil. But according to him, when Nathan texted Lizzie to confirm their plans, Lizzie never responded. So I played like Bolloworkraft together and stuff like that. What were you thinking when she was originally teased? Well, on Wednesday, I felt it was kind of weird, but I... You know, I was thinking that's because it is this uncommon for her. Yeah.

Is this ever happened before? No. Was there anything that was going on in her wife that made you worried about her? Not really. I mean, I just sort of thought she was busy or something. Yeah. I figured she would text later. I didn't want to be a bother or anything.

Lizzie had also made plans with another former coworker, Kat McDonough. And on the night that Lizzie went missing, she was expected at Kat's apartment so that the two of them could watch a movie together. But according to Kat, Lizzie never showed up. I never target my new coworkers who have work in like a clothing fictional lot. What was the major of your relationship?

Did you see her and have lunch with her? Did you? When I was one, we were kind of just like when we had house passes they had. We talked about like superhearsals and things like that so I don't know that much about her. And we only met once at work. And when was that? Not this past Tuesday but the Tuesday before. And we only met once at work, okay? And when was that? Not this past Tuesday, but the Tuesday before, okay?

Yeah, she came over and lost you and she was. Having only met outside of work on one previous occasion, Kat and Lizzie were more acquaintances than they were friends. So when Lizzie didn't show up at Kat's apartment, Kat assumed that Lizzie simply changed her mind about coming over. Once I was expecting her, I think I'm waiting in front of a little bit and then I walked out and I had a walk down the building. I lost through the building. I tried to go to different hallways, as if she's a lost. I was on a moat like, okay, no, she probably just stood me on. Cat claimed that Lizzie never made it to her apartment,

but there was a problem with that story. See, while Cat was being questioned by detectives about Lizzie, so too was Cat's live-in boyfriend, 28-year-old Seth Mizzalia. And Seth's version of that night wasn't matching up with Cat's. And I'm just going to be in front with you, and that's not what we're hearing from Seth. And the story that we're getting upstairs is different from the story you're giving us. I know for a fact that maybe you've lessened some things out to his day. October 9th, who else were you with? Just Seth.

Roberta. She a friend of yours? Yeah. Okay, when's the last time you saw Roberta? And her boyfriend? I know. last time you saw Roberta, and your boyfriend. I know, I, I, I, I get me to lawyer in this process, right? Like, I, I just, it's, it's overwhelming. I mean, I'm sure. Remember Roberta Gherkin and her boyfriend, Paul, that negligent couple that came upon the

dead body of a teenage girl in their friend Lex's apartment, and decided to do nothing about it? Well, interestingly, as soon as the detectives asked Kat about Roberta and Paul, Kat decided that she needed a lawyer and refused to answer any more questions. Her boyfriend Seth, on the other hand, didn't go that route. As Cat smartly kept her mouth shut and waited for an attorney, Seth was busy telling a very disturbing story about what had happened to 19-year-old UNH student Lizzie Marriott. In early October 2012, 19-year-old UNH student and aspiring marine biologist Lizzie Marriott

was reported missing. Three days after her disappearance, police questioned her former co-worker 18-year-old Cat Macdonna. On the night Lizzie disappeared, she was expected to arrive at Cat's apartment where the two of them planned to watch a movie. But according to Cat, Lizzie never showed up. Cat's live in boyfriend, however, told police a very different story. But before we get into that, there are quite a few things you should know about Cats' boyfriend. Seth Mizzalia was born in 1982 and raised by his two parents in Port Smith, New Hampshire.

There he enjoyed an upper middle class upbringing, and at the age of 18 he graduated from a private college preparatory school in southern Maine. A year later, he began dating 17-year-old Catherine Fish. Catherine Fish is not to be confused with Kat McDonough, who Seth was dating at the time of Lizzie Marriott's disappearance. This was a previous relationship and an entirely different Catherine. After only a few months of dating Seth, Catherine fish moved into Seth's apartment and she soon found herself in a relationship that was not entirely ideal. He's a major time activity, but he was still extremely controlling over what I ate, what activities that I did.

I wasn't allowed to read because it wasn't something that he could participate in. It's like, dude, I want to do my schoolwork and I want to read or I want to play the computer. My computer was entirely shut off from my internet access and the internet access was extremely controlled. So you wouldn't allow you to have internet access. Yeah, and then the phone was extremely controlled as well. During their time together, Seth maintained complete control over Katherine's life and dictated everything she did, including who she was allowed to talk to, and what she did in her free time, and even when, and what she ate. Seth also forced Catherine to quit her job when he discovered that she was making one dollar more than he was.

Seth seems to be the kind of guy that makes every man on Earth look terrible. And when Catherine protested at any of this, it didn't end well. Did you just tell you? It was a real temper tantrums if I tried to argue with him on any of these points. Really, anything could send him off. He was kind of a man-child. It just very easily flies into a temper tantrum, very easily offended. The whole world is out to get them. Or other, you know, I am part of violence, I mean, he would say that, and this wasn't an isolated incident.

I'm never going to beat you. I'm not the type that will beat their spouser, their partner. If I hit you, it's going to be a once. The way that it was a psychological coercion, where you know that you cannot, you have to say yes because you know you cannot say no. Okay, what did you think would happen if you said no? Or she would kill me. When they argued Seth never hit Catherine, but the threat of violence or even murder was always looming. And Seth's control over Catherine didn't stop at not permitting

her to have friends, a job or a life outside of their relationship. It also extended into their bedroom. be able to have as many sex partners as he possibly could. It rate fantasies. Did he talk to you about those fantasies that he had? Not in the latest detail, but it was something that was expressed and acted upon. So he would tie me down and always make sure that it was my hands first. Did he ever tell you up at any point to where you felt like you couldn't get out even if you wanted to? Yeah, okay. That was all the time when it was happening.

How frequently? Every day. Every day, okay. More than once a day. Basically, it was the relationship was ruled by whether or not he had an erection and if he did, I needed to take care of it. Or he would use sex to take care of it. Or he would use sex ex and a sub punishment. I wasn't keen on moral sex and so he would use that as a means of punishment.

Okay. He would have me down on the bed and then sit on me and with his cock at my face basically. And then my hands would be trapped underneath him. Thankfully Catherine was eventually able to muster up the courage to break up with Seth. She moved out of his apartment and the two of them went their separate ways. But Seth still had a desire to dominate and control. And he reportedly fulfilled that desire by going to hotels and meeting with multiple women who were willing to sleep with him in exchange for drugs.

So you and a female friend show up to what happens when you get there? Well, they started with bad, these were not bad, they were gross. Remember what kind of gross? And those kind are their problems, okay? They started with that, these were not about it, they were roasts. They were more counter-robes, and I was kind of, they were raw. Okay. It's a point that I see, I have serious bruises on me. Okay. I mean bruises from, I see, punchy. Digging, hitting, just everything.

Okay. It wasn't, well, like, it was just more, I would say, uh, delicious. Okay. Get back up. What was the discussion that was going to happen before you could there? I'm not moving your kids, my 80s out of it. The term 80s is slang for oxycodone, a powerful pain reliever that can produce feelings of euphoria for its users. And Seth allegedly liked to trade this drug in exchange for violent and brutal sex with women. Seth was a sadist.

He was obsessed with inflicting pain and humiliation onto women, and he hid this obsession behind a supposed innocent interest in BDSM. In the BDSM community, he knows more than anyone that the motto of it is safe, sane, and central. But he used it as a way of manipulation and control and a way of saying, no, no, it's just BDSM, it's not a problem. In addition to being an abusive boyfriend, rapist, and sadist, Seth was also an actor.

I mean, I guess you kind of have to be if you need to hide the fact that you're a sexually violent creep. But Seth actually pursued acting professionally. In 2006, he graduated from UNH with a degree in theater. And while he attended classes, at least one of his classmates took notice of how repulsive and strange Seth was. He was in the classroom with me. I didn't really know who Seth was. He was in the classroom with me. I didn't really know who he was.

He was just one of those people that when he walks in the classroom, you're like, the hell is that? He wore some old-school night keys every day, a pair of sweatpants, a flannel, every single day, same clothes every day. It smelled, but it didn't. No, that's not that hard.

But he just would always walk in like confidence, like he own the place pretty much. Obviously his name is Seth, but it changed daily of what his name was, and it changed with like confidence. Like my name's not Seth, it's almost Lex. He said one day his name was Lex. What the fuck? Why was your name Lex all of a sudden? Like that's almost like Lexi, like your girl's name.

Why are you calling yourself Lex? I mean, maybe that was his strange name. Is it not? I don't know. Only further adding to his creepiness, Seth liked to use aliases for himself. One of them being Lex. And Lex was how many people knew Seth, including Roberta Gherkin and Paul Hickock. Remember them?

Then how they arrived at Lex's apartment, found a dead body on his floor, and then left without doing anything about it? Upstanding citizens these two. Anyway, Seth or Lex, whatever you want to call him, struggled to find any legitimate work as a film actor. And for the average person, it wasn't hard to see why. I was telling it was weird because you go to casting calls and you show up and you're

fucking sweatpants and you smell a B.O. everyday with your button down flannel, with your truster hanging out and your big vass and your greasy hair, like what's gonna want to bring you for a role? I just felt like he was just a liar, like a pathological liar. I'm 18, my name's Seth today. I'm 22, my name's Lex. You look like you're 40 years old.

I'm an actor, I'm gonna go to Hollywood, other than my mom's basement, cool. And I do karate. Did he actually know karate? I have no idea. In my mind, I'm thinking he's pretty fat. I mean, I don't know. I don't know if he's like, you need me to fit to do karate.

But he's pretty fat. He wasn't intimidating person. Evidently Seth did know karate. As a certified black belt, he taught karate classes to children at a rec center in Southern Maine. Though I'd seriously question the quality of those classes given that the teacher was apparently out of shape. Last I checked Bruce Lee was pretty lean.

While Seth did find some success in teaching Karate, his career as a movie star never did take off. So Seth did the next best thing. He pursued stage acting. And the summer of 2011, one year before the disappearance of Lizzie Marriott, 27-year-old Seth got involved in a stage production at the Port Smith Community Theatre. It was here that he met his eventual girlfriend, 17-year-old Kat McDonough. I am doing one of the pucks, one of us. Are you going to burst into song? I get it. I've got a grow.

Then in August of 2012, two months before the disappearance of Lizzie Marriott, Cat was offered a job as a counselor at a theater camp, and this job required her to attend a two-week overnight training program in Southern Maine. Seth granted Cat permission to take this job and attend the training, but he also imposed a few conditions, one of which was that cat was to be punished upon her return, a punishment that Seth described in lurid detail in a text message to cat.

apartment. Lizzie agreed to come over, but two days after this planned get-together, Lizzie was reported missing, and Kat told detectives that Lizzie never made it to her apartment that night. Seth, on the other hand, had a very different story. just like, hey, is she coming over, you know, do you know? But you don't remember saying anything sexual or looking forward to this or nothing like that. I wasn't even sure if anything would happen. It was one of those very show up, very easing, experimental, everybody talk, everybody get comfortable, everybody get to know each other, you know.

According to Seth on the night that Lizzie disappeared, Seth finished a work shift at Best Buy and headed home. He was anticipating an especially fun night ahead, as he claimed that the reason Lizzie was coming over was to experiment with some BDSM sexual play with himself and his girlfriend Cat. responsible for her death? If this was story, Lizzie was a willing participant in sex and bondage. Sweet, innocent animal loving, aspiring marine biologist 19-year-old Lizzie Marriott, who had no history of being interested in BDSM and was in an exclusive, dedicated and loving relationship with a woman, consented to being tied down with ropes and wanted to have sex with a nearly 30-year-old out-of-shape man that she hardly knew, according to Seth. After his police interview, Seth was arrested and charged with second degree murder, but because his confession was obviously bullshit, the investigation into Lizzie's death needed to continue, and the truth of what really happened to her wouldn't come until years later,

when Seth finally went to trial. In October of 2012, 19-year-old UNH student Lizzie Marriott went missing. Four days after her disappearance, 28-year-old Seth Miselea confessed to having accidentally killed her during consensual bondage and sex. Seth was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, but nobody was buying Seth's story, and the investigation into Lizzie's death continued. Meanwhile, Seth pleaded not guilty and remained in jail until his trial. While there, he maintained communication with his girlfriend, Kat McDonough, and for a short while, the two of them attempted to keep their relationship together. I don't know if you are thinking maybe after the trial room or everything? Yeah.

Anyway, in hopes of keeping their relationship together, Seth asked Kat to look into what it would take for the two of them to get married. But that wasn't all he asked her to do. Seth knew that cat was eventually going to have to testify, and he needed to lock in her story. So, in a coded letter, he wrote to Cat and told her to go to his attorney's office, and provide them with an updated version of what happened the night Lizzie died. And just like she had always done for Seth, Cat obeyed.

And unbelievably, Cat agreed to go along with this story. But Seth and Cat had a problem. There were two witnesses that saw Lizzie's dead body with plastic bags over her head and ligature marks on her neck. Roberta Gherkin and her boyfriend Paul, hoping that she could convince them to keep quiet, Cat decided to meet with Roberta. But what Cat didn't know was that Roberta was working for the police and had agreed to wear a wire. I think it's going to be played up as a sexual thing on that.

Okay, so maybe, could you say that you just didn't go in the wrong? There's no reason why I can't. You heard there was a problem, you wanted to help, but then you didn't want to go in. So you didn't actually go in, you didn't see anything. What you just heard there is a crime and a pretty serious one at that. After this conversation between Kat and Roberta, Kat was arrested and charged with two felonies, hindering prosecution and conspiracy to do the same. Kat then decided to cut a deal with the prosecutors and agreed to testify against Seth in exchange for a lighter

prison sentence. So much for obedience. It was only then that the truth of what actually happened to Lizzie Marriott finally came out. I liked her. I thought she had a bill that he was looking for. She had a wonderful personality so I got along with her really well. I also knew that she had a girlfriend so she wasn't opposed to being with girls. And when he came to work with me, he met her and said that she was a good potential. The events that led to Lizzie's murder began when Kat asked Seth if she could attend a

two-week overnight job training course to become a camp counselor. If you remember, Seth granted Kat permission to go, but he imposed conditions. One of those conditions was that Kat would be sexually punished upon her return. But there was another price she had to pay. The second price is this. You choose a friend. Any of yours will do. And you offer her to me. That I may do anything I wish with her while you watch and assist. In any way, I might command you to do so. Ideally, this friend watches your punishment and helps, but I'll settle for someone who I interact with directly while you watch. I think it would be fitting if the first thing you saw me do when you got that, this pleasure, one of your friends until they died of orgasms.

Seth demanded that Kat bring another woman into their relationship. Initially, that woman was supposed to be anyone that Cat could convince while she attended her job training, but Cat wasn't able to convince anyone. Apparently, finding someone that's willing to have sex with you and your overweight weirdo boyfriend isn't quite as easy as it sounds. So Cat then set her sights on a former coworker,

19 year old Lizzie Marion. Cat invited Lizzie to her apartment to watch a movie in Lizzie being a personable and trusting commuter student that was eager to make new friends, excepted the invite. On the night of October 9, 2012, Lizzie arrived at Cat's apartment, just as the two of them had planned. But prior to Lizzie's arrival, Seth had instructed Cat to casually float the idea of playing a game of Strip Poker. And just like she always did, Cat obeyed.

I added it in at the end, it was just like a joking idea, or maybe Strip because if she said no I didn't want it to be taken too seriously I just wanted it to be a joke but she ended up agreeing and saying that that would be fun. We all sat down and began to play. I ended up not wearing anything. She ended up in just her underwear and he ended up not wearing anything. Lizzie Cat and Seth all sat on the floor and Seth's apartment and played several hands of Strip Poker. For Lizzie, this game was not sexual. It was giggly. It was goofy. It was innocent. But as Lizzie smiled, laughed, and played cards, she didn't know what Seth and Kat were planning.

She didn't know that she hadn't actually been invited to Seth's apartment. She had been lured there. And this was not a friendly game of cards. It was a planned precursor to what Seth fully expected to be a night of bondage and sadism. And as the game continued, and all three of the players ended up mostly naked, Seth decided there would need to be an additional penalty for whoever lost the next round.

I believe I was the one who lost. And he was saying that because I lost that I should kiss Lizzie. And she said that she wasn't comfortable with that. Because she had a girlfriend. She didn't want to do anything. What was the defendant's reaction or response to Lizzie's refusal?

Outwardly, he didn't seem to put off. He seemed kind of like, all right, check-in, feigned only casual disappointment. But Kat knew that something bad was bound to happen if Lizzie didn't eventually comply. My girlfriend's here and she's naked, so I am going to fuck her. I hope that's okay. She immediately said, no, no, I can't, I can't be here while you guys do that. I'm in a strong relationship. So he seemed disappointed in Azoogar or whatever, so he climbed onto the foot on behind us. Lizzie refused Seth twice. And anyone that was familiar with Seth knew that the word no is not something he handled

very well. Just ask Seth's girlfriend, Catherine Fish. Seth never liked to be told no. He would throw things when I said no, he would never was not over if he could handle. That would always be something that would perpetrate. And the thing of it was, it was I knew that eventually he was going to kill someone. She was sitting right next to me and he moved up close behind her and he wrapped the rope over her head around her neck and started pulling on it. What I remember it looked like he was pressing his knee against her back and pulling the rope towards him as he held her still with his knee. What was Lizzy doing as the defendant strangled her with the rope?

Her legs were stretched out in front of her and her arms kind of curled up against her chest and her eyes were closed. She let out a quick noise and she sort of stopped moving. Did you try to stop with defendant? No. Did you tell him to stop? No. Did you go or yell for help? No. Tell the jurors again, what did you do? I stayed there.

And I just got up to the window. And I shut the first window. And when he dressed here, I shut the second window. Seth Miserlia strangled Lizzie Marriott until she was unconscious and continued strangling her until she was dead. This went on for at least five minutes. All the while Kat McDonough did nothing to stop it. Then, Seth did the unthinkable. And when the defendant was done strangling Lizzie,

when she could no longer say no to him, when she could no longer deny him, he raped her. He got on top of Lizzie. He pushed Lizzie's underwear aside. He inserted his penis into Lizzie, and he raped Lizzie. Muttering insults to Lizzie under his breath while he did so. Violating Lizzie's limp body until he ejaculated.

After violating Lizzie, Seth cleaned himself up and began to panic, unable to look at the face of the teenage girl he had just killed and raped, Seth put plastic bags over Lizzie's head, and instructed Kat to call his friend Roberta Gherkin. arrived a short while later with her boyfriend Paul. Both of them decided they wanted nothing to do with the situation and left, leaving the fate of Lizzie's dead body in the hands of the man that killed her. When Mr. Hickok and Ms. Gurkhen left, the defendant and McDonough continued to cover up what the defendant had done to Lizzie. The defendant wrapped Lizzie's dead body in a tarp. The defendant with McDonough's assistance stuffed Lizzie's body into a suitcase, which they then taped shut. They located Lizzie's car in the parking lot. And together the defendant

and McDonough loaded and took that car, Lizzie's concealed body in the suitcase. And he and McDonough took off and Lizzie's car. With Lizzie's corpse in the back of her own car, Seth and Kat drove to Portsmouth and ultimately arrived at a cliff sedge on Pierce Island. A small island that overlooks the Piscatiqua river and Atlantic Ocean. It was here that Seth and Cat disposed of Lizzie's body. Who pushed Lizzie's body over the cliff at that point in time? Seth did. What happened to Lizzie's body did it fall into the water? And how do you know Lizzie did not

fall in the water at that point in time, there were rocks down at the bottom. It was the tide was lower and she landed on the rocks. Lizzie's lifeless body crashed landed on the rocks below the cliff's edge, forcing Seth and Kat to climb down to her. Kat reached Lizzie first and pushed her into the water. And that was the last time anyone saw or will ever see Lizzy Marriott. And her body was never recovered. Four days after Lizzy's body was lost to the Atlantic Ocean, Seth Miserlia was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

But after Kat McDonough was also arrested and agreed to work with authorities, Seth's criminal charge was upgraded. He was now on the hook for first degree murder and faced the possibility of life in prison. In that dynamic between the defendant and McDonough, not just the submissive dominant sexual lifestyle practices, but the entirety of his control over her, of his grooming of her, is important not because it excuses what MacDonna did, but because it helps to explain. Not justify, explain why she did not help Lizzie and why she helped the defendant cover up afterwards. It is a degree of loyalty, of obedience, of devotion that may not make sense to you.

In 2013, Cat pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution of Seth Mizzalia and was sentenced to three years in prison. Given her behavior, you might find it hard to accept Kat's lenient punishment. I know I do. But what's important to remember is that Seth had complete control over her. She was literally his slave. I did everything he said. If he said, jump, I jumped.

I didn't ask why, and it's very frightening now looking back at that. He really liked to have control of the people. It didn't matter in which way or form. He really liked to have control of the people. It wasn't until, well, after not being able to contact him, then I realized how horribly his control actually was. Cat claims that it wasn't until well after her arrest that she finally realized the power Seth had over her. And her words might ring hollow if they weren't echoed by Seth's first girlfriend, Catherine

Fish. life of my own. And I couldn't see what kind of crazy shit that I was really involved in." In 2016, after serving only three years, Kat McDonough was released from prison. Appropriately, her ex-boyfriend didn't get off so easy. In 2014, a jury found Seth Mizzale guilty of first-degree murder. After the verdict, being the cowardly and remorseless, crybaby that he is, Seth decided that he didn't want to attend his own sentencing. I'm going to say if there's any way I can not attend the 14th, I already know what everyone's going to say there so why do hell do I have to be there? It's a waste of my time.

I'm going to have to sit there for an hour and a half listening to them. Gell and Wyme and Mitch and Moan and scream about how I'm a monster who kills someone when I'm not. Seth was forced to attend his sentencing. It was there that he learned he would be spending the rest of his life behind bars without the possibility of parole. And Seth was also forced to listen to Lizzie's family speak as they defined him perfectly. You were guilty of purposely killing my daughter, a murderer. You were guilty of killing while raping my daughter, a rapist, your guilty of conspiring to tear forth witnesses, a liar, your guilty of conspiring to falsify evidence, a coward.

Your legacy is pathetic, cowardly, lying, rapist, and murderer, or in your words monster. Many of Lizzie's family and friends addressed the court and spoke directly to Seth, calling him out for the vile shit bag that he is. But as Seth sat before them, he was also reminded of the incredible young woman whose life he took. Lizzie was still is and will always be the most amazing, wonderful, beautiful, and talented

person, friend and girlfriend in the whole entire world. I will never forget how much of a bright light she was. She was being in love, generosity, kindness, laughter, determination, strength, intelligence, talent, faithfulness, positivity, etc. I could go on for days. And she was always smiling. She was beautiful inside and out. I will never forget her gorgeous blue eyes, contagious laugh, great sense of humor and bubbly personality. Lizzie always cared about others. She was good, sweet, and pure. I love you, Lizzy, with all of my heart, and I always will. Now and forever.

In going through all of the audio related to this case, we came across literal hours of people talking about Seth Mizzelia. Most of them describing him as self-centered and disgusting. But we also came across even more audio of people describing Lizzie Marriott as beautiful and selfless. She unmistakably touched the hearts of everyone that knew her. And amongst her many exceptional qualities,

Lizzie was also a talented writer and poet. This poem, titled Thief, was written by Lizzie. It is read by her father, Bob Marriott. with what you stole. Never will they bless you or help when you're afraid, merely useless trinkets with me, they should have stayed. Take away my everything, but when all is said and done, you'll sit with your treasure, but it's me who's truly one. Lizzie Marriott dreamed of becoming a marine biologist, and she was working towards that dream. All she wanted to do was make new friends along the way.

Sadly, instead of meeting a friend, she met her own end, because she trusted someone who had other things in mind. She met Kat McDonough who lured Lizzie into the home of her sadist monster of a boyfriend. Lizzie was strangled to death and raped. Her body dumped and lost forever to the Atlantic Ocean. This story is nothing if not depressing, but there is some small bit of justice that can be found in the fact that for the rest of his life, Seth Mizzalia will live in a cage like he deserves to. There, he will be told when he's allowed to use the phone. He will be told when he's allowed to go outside. He will be told when he's allowed to go outside. He will be told when he's allowed to eat and sleep.

His entire life will be dictated by others. Seth Mazzalia has been completely stripped of the thing he desired most. Control. And for him, that fate might actually be worse than death.
